Whisked Away: Chapter 6: The Enemy Of My Enemy

Felix was falling. Fast. His thoughts raced through his mind faster than he was accelerating. He remembered his childhood. His fifth birthday. His pet cat, Frost. He thought of his descision to drop, and now it seemed even more stupid. He could see Twilight, Rainbow, and Celestia watching him as he plummeted towards his inevetable fate. He closed his eyes as he waited for death.

Felix heard leaves crackle around him and branches break. A lance of pain shot through his left shoulder, he tumbled through the shrubbery, getting cut on every twig and branch, until finally he felt himself fall again. Wait, again? Felix wondered. He opened his eyes. He was lying on his back, staring at the underside of a tree. Did it break my fall? Is that tree the only reason I'm alive?

He felt blood gushing out of his shoulder. A branch had come loose and and had impaled his arm. He pulled the branch out with his remaining hand, screaming as pain shot through his veins like fire. Felix struggled against the pain, climbing onto his feet. He was covered in small cuts and bruises. I'm fortunate that my arm took the worst of it. Felix realized, not wanting to imagine if his head had been so unfortunate. He limped out from under the tree, but too late had he realized that he had given away that he was still alive. "Hey! Where do you think you're going?" Rainbow Dash yelled.

Felix turned to see Rainbow Dash launch herself off the balcony, charging him. He realized he couldn't run without getting taken down. He braced for the impact.

Rainbow tackled him harder than the cockatrice had done earlier in his adventure. He cringed as Rainbow dragged him to the ground. Rainbow's purple eyes gleamed only mere inches from his own. Felix was struggling to get up, but it was no use. Rainbow had pinned him.

He stopped struggling, giving in to the fact that it would be impossible to win.

Dash released her grip slightly. "That was easy!" She gloated. Seeing his chance, Felix summoned all the strength he could muster and kicked upwards heavily.

It hit Rainbow squarely in the chest. Felix could see the shock in her eyes as she stumbled off him, winded. Felix wasted no time in getting to his feet, adrenaline pumping. He knew that she would recover quickly, and Felix took the chance. He kicked upwards, hitting the startled pony directly in the chin. Felix brought his foot back down, slamming her head into the ground as it met its target.

Rainbow Dash didn't move. She was unconsious.

Felix didn't know whether to feel guilty or relieved at the sight of the unconsious athlete, but he knew he had to get away before anything else happened. He knew that Celestia wouldn't be quite as easy to trick. Felix ran off, grasping his injured shoulder, and regretting his descision thoroughly. The last thing he was as he glanced back was Celestia standing over the cyan mare, while Twilight glared after him. That glare was the only thing Felix remembered as he started his journey back to ponyville.

Felix had been travelling for three days. Though he tried to the best of his ability, he couldn't prevent the ineveitable.

His shoulder was infected.

The pain was excruciating. He knew that he stood no chance of fighting the infection, and that nothing in this world would be willing to help him. He had made slow progress, in between resting his arm and checking on his other scratches. He was covered in small scabs and bruises as his body entered it's natural healing stage. If it ever does. Felix thought as he cast a sour glance at his arm.

For the first time in his life, Felix felt genuinely alone.

No one in this new world cared for him. Even back on earth, he had family and friends to help him cope through things he couldn't handle himself. Now Felix knew that he'd be captured or even killed just for asking for help from even the most humble pony. He came to rest on a log. This is terrible. I thought my luck was bad before, but now? I just want to curl up somewhere and die. Felix thought sadly. He had just lowered his head when a voice spoke behind him.

"Hello, young one."

Felix raised his head immediately. That voice.... No, it can't be... Felix's thought raced as he tried to come up with a logical explanation.

That sly, serpentile voice could only belong to...

Felix slowly glanced over his shoulder.

"Queen Chrysalis!" He exclaimed. It was indeed her. Every feature on her was even more vivid than Felix remembered. Everything from her green, snake-like eyes to the many holes lining her legs caused this villian from the episodes to seem even more horrifying than he had remembered.

Felix was the most scared he had ever been in his life.

"Oh, you know of me, do you?" Chrysalis whispered, faking surprise. "Such a smart boy, aren't you?"

Felix quickly realized that her appearing without disguise must either mean she wanted something.

He wondered if she wanted him dead.

Chrysalis continued. "I have noticed your feats in these past few days, outsmarting and escaping almost everything those ponies threw at you." she mentioned, as she began to pace around Felix in a circle. "All that skill wasted just because all of them are too blind to notice your talents."

She's trying to win me over with compliments. Felix realized. "What do you want, Chrysalis?" He called.

She stopped pacing. "Only your help, child." Chrysalis whispered in his ear. Felix recoiled as he realized she had teleported behind him. "What do you mean?" Felix replied uneasily. She proceeded. "I have noticed your skills, not only your ability to find a way out of any situation, but your exceptional combat skills. I notice you took out the Element of Loyalty quite efficiently." Chrysalis told him. She turned around and looked him in the eye. "Little did you know, but i have been watching from the very beginning."

Felix was shocked. Chrysalis had been watching him the whole time?

"I notice you seem to have injured yourself."

Chrysalis's voice broke him out of his thoughts. "Fortunately, I know a little bit of healing magic." Felix watched as she poked his injured shoulder with her horn. Felix winced. A faint green light protruded from Chrysalis's horn, as Felix's arm slowly started to heal over. His arm felt better almost instantly.

"Now that that's dealt with, I have a little favour to ask of you." Chrysalis revealed. Felix glanced up. "What is it?" Felix replied, unsure of what she could possibly want.

Other than control of Equestria. Felix considered.

She was dead serious now. "I need a show of loyalty first, dear Felix." She sighed as a small knife materialized in front of her. It dropped to the ground. "This will be your weapon." she stated.

Felix examined the knife closely. It was about a foot long, serrated, and blacker than the darkest night. It looked sharp enough to cut diamond.

"I need you to return to the Everfree." Chrysalis continued finally.

"And kill that pesky little cockatrice that tried to kill you, hm?"
