Who Am I?

"Jack! Breakfast is ready!"

"I'm coming, mom!"

I'm Jack. I'm 16 years old and I live in Ponyville with my mom, dad, and my little brother. I have a decent life here. Although I'm the only human in Equestria, every one accepts me, despite my species. I also have a very peculiar power. I can control electricity, something no pony has ever seen before. No pony, that is, except for Rainbow Dash, my best friend. Only she knows my power, and she's totally cool with it, which is why I like her. I bet everyone would freak out. Well, then again, they do have magic. But something as devastating and destructive as electricity? The ponies are not ready for this type of  power yet.

I walked downstairs to the kitchen. On the way down, I was putting on my shirt that was made especially for me by a good friend of mine, Rarity. She's a local fashion designer. Oh you know? Ok then. By the time I got downstairs, my dad was already done and was getting ready for work.

I reached downstairs just in time to say goodbye and begin eating. "Bye, dad!"

He turned around and gave a smile. "Bye, son! Have a great day at school today!"

School. I don't like it. Don't get me wrong, Ms. Cherilee is a great teacher, but I just don't like school. maybe it's the fact that I have to get up early in the morning. I quickly zoomed through breakfast, brushed my teeth, grab my schoolbag, kissed my mom on the forehead, and raced out the door. I do admit, it is a little embarrassing going to a school where everyone else is about two times as small as me, but I do know that they are way older than me.

The Ponyville School

We were discussing the history of Ponyville. Applebloom brought her grandmother. It was actually interesting. One of the bullies, Diamond Tiara, made fun of her, probably out of jealousy.

After school, I stayed behind to help Ms. Cherilee clean up around the school. While dusting away some dirt, I saw something. It was a amulet of some sort. I picked it up. It had a coat of arms on it. It looked familiar to me. I think we were studying something like this in history. I put it on. The next thing I knew, I saw something. A figure. The mere sight of whatever it was made me unbalanced. It began walking towards me. As I placed my hand on the school wall, electricity ran through my arm and into the school wall, where it quickly caught fire. Shocked, I used my powers to fly up to Cloudsdale without anypony looking.

I was sitting alone on a stray cloud, playing with the little tricks I knew with my power. I was trying to figure out what the figure I saw when I put on the amulet when I heard flapping noises. Wing flapping noises. I quickly hid my electric current as I turned. There was no one. I looked up. Nothing. Suddenly, someone hugged me from behind. It was Rainbow.

"Hey, Jack! Whatcha' doing?"

"Oh, hey Rainbow! Nothing much.  I found this."

I showed her the amulet. She looked at it with extreme interest.

"You know, I think I remember reading something about this in the library..."

"You go to the library?"

"Um- Well, no..."

"Don't worry, I already knew."

"Oh..."

"You were saying?"

"Hm? Oh yeah. Maybe Twi will know something about this."

Golden Oaks Library

*knock!* *knock!* *knock!*

Twilight opened the door. "Yes? Oh, hi, Rainbow. Hi, Jack. Finished with book two already?"

"Actually, Twi. We came by to talk about this." Rainbow handed the amulet to her. Twilight observed the amulet. A look of terror and horror washed onto Twilight's face, as if the terror washed off Twi's innocent and happy face. She grabbed both me and Rainbow and locked the door shut.

She closed all the curtains, locked all the doors and slowly turned towards me and Rainbow, with looks evil enough to kill. "Where did you find this?"

"Um... Near the school?"

"That's how..."

"Hey... Twi? Are you ok?"

"I am now, but we soon won't be..."

"Twilight... What's going on?"

*sigh* "It's you family amulet."

"Huh?"

"I... I can't say..."

"That's it! I'm finding my family! I can't take this anymore!"

Then I stormed out.
