Chapter 3 – The Alicorn Amulet

“You know Lightning Dust, this potion will make my amulet much stronger then it is now.”

“What amulet? You mean the Alicorn Amulet?”

“I don’t know how much you know it but yes. Zecora, Twilight and Princess Celestia tried to destroy it but they failed. Amulet’s power was much stronger than power of Celestia and Twilight! But still the amulet was little damaged. It’s not as strong as it was. So I am doing this potion to get its power back!”

“And how you found it? I mean Zecora said...”

“Oh my dear... you didn’t get it? Let me guess... you were listening to conversation between Zecora and Twilight, right?”

“Ehm... yes that’s true. But what this has to do with...”

“It wasn’t Zecora... it was me! The Alicorn Amulet has power to transform you into something else, but it’s exhausting amulet’s power pretty fast. So I bounded Zecora down in the cellar and transformed into her. Then told Twilight and her friends to search in the forest and it will take some time so I decided to get amulet’s power back. I put the recipe in the cellar. I was like blind because I couldn’t find it but now I have it. One of important ingredients is heart. But it can’t be pony heart so that’s problem because I just can’t kill anypony and take its heart. So killing Zecora is two in one! And when power of the amulet will be back nopony will stop me!”

“So it was you who stole the amulet! But how you did it?”

“It wasn’t hard. Twilight believed me and also in my good soul. What a naive pony. She took me here because I didn’t have home. It didn’t take me a long time to find the amulet. So I took it and bounded Zecora in the cellar and also I tied her muzzle to don’t let her scream so much. Then I transformed into her and waited for coming of Twilight to tell her what happened. And they trusted me! So now they are searching in Everfree forest and can’t find nothing.”

Lightning Dust started to stare at doors.

“Ehm... Trixie...”

“How many times I have to say... call me the Great and Powerful Trixie, right?”

“But Trixie we have a problem.”

“What problem?”

“Purple problem. I think they didn’t trust you so much as you say.”

Trixie turned her sight from cauldron to door and got shock.

“Oh Twilight, what are you doing in here?”

“I have the same question! It was YOU who stole the amulet!”

“Ah... you don’t say? I have done much more things, than just that I stole the amulet.”

“So it’s true... Rainbow Dash told me that she saw how somepony is burying remains of pony. But now I see it wasn’t pony but Zebra!”

“Yes you are right Twilight! And you Lightning Dust, next time you should try do it more in private! But it doesn’t matter. This potion will be done soon and will have my power back. I just need a little time!”

“You think that I will let you finish it Trixie?”

“You have no choice!” Trixie put on evil smile and teleported few meters forward to show her power to Twilight. “I have learned much from last time Twilight!”

“I see... but will you handle with this? RAINBOW DASH, NOW!”

In that moment Rainbow Dash flew in through window and aimed at cauldron. But when Lightning Dust saw Rainbow Dash she sharpened her mind, jumped and hardly hit Rainbow Dash’s wing with her front right leg. Rainbow Dash felt on the ground and couldn’t use her wings.

“I don’t know how could Spitfire choose you as leadpony! You are such a weakling!” said Lightning Dust while preparing her next strike right into Rainbow Dash’s face. “Do you like it Rainbow Dash? Do you like it? I gave everything from my life to become a Wonderbolt and YOU ruined it! Are you happy now?”

Lightning Dust was mindlessly punching Rainbow Dash. But Twilight couldn’t help her because she had problem too.

“So Twilight let’s see if you too improved your magic!”

Trixie closed door behind Twilight and took some logs beneath cauldron to throw them at Twilight. Twilight tried to reflect first log with her magic but it was useless because Trixie was stronger. Purple unicorn had one more trick prepared. She decided to dodge the logs with her teleportation spell. It worked but Twilight was getting weaker and weaker. After about five teleport she fell down exhausted.

“Oh come on Twi! Stand up! We will have fun!”

Twilight raised her head and sadly looked at Trixie. “Trixie why are you so evil? I hoped that you have changed. You don’t need to be evil. You made one mistake or maybe more but doing mistakes is one of our qualities. You can be good I know it.”

Trixie just smiled and turned back to cauldron. “Twilight, Twilight, Twilight... I thought then when you read so many books you will be clever. But as I see you aren’t. When you are evil everything is so easy! You just take what you want, do what you want and if somepony will try to stop you, you just end his existence. Zecora didn’t want to give me his precious amulet, so I moved him out of my way! Now, please, let me finish this potion.”

Meanwhile Lightning Dust was still punching helpless Rainbow Dash. “Whoa Rainbow Dash you are tough! But we have enough time!”

Rainbow Dash forced herself to say some words. “What have I done to you Lightning Dust?”

“What have you done? Maybe you ruined my life!”

“No I didn’t! I only listened to your orders! You failed control of that hurricane!”

Lightning Dust shouted “LIAR!” and again started punching Rainbow Dash with her whole strength. Twilight knew that Rainbow Dash won’t stand this much longer so she tried something what she never tried. Twilight tried to cast memory spell at distanced target. She focused her mind, her horn started to shine but she failed. Rainbow Dash was now half-dead and Lightning Dust was still punching. Suddenly somepony kicked the door and flew in. She was in Wonderbolt outfit and as she saw Lightning Dust she kicked her out of Rainbow Dash. Lightning Dust raised her head and was surprised what she sees.

“Spitfire?! What are you doing in here?”

“It doesn’t matter what I am doing in here but I want to know what you are doing here! You’d better explain it!”

Before Lightning Dust could response Trixie joined their conversation. “Another host? And alone? What are you trying? As you see Twilight is completely exhausted and Rainbow Dash is almost dead. And you come in like a hero while we are two and you are alone? You are crazy!”

“I’m not alone!” in that moment Soarin flew in. “As you see it’s two on two!”

Trixie smiled turned to Lightning Dust and asked her “So Lightning Dust, who will you take care of? And forget about saying both, I want to have fun too.”

Lightning Dust shouted “SPITFIRE!” then nimbly took off the ground. When Spitfire spread her wings but Lightning Dust was enough fast to broke Spitfire’s wings with her hind hoofs and then she landed behind Spitfire meanwhile Trixie took another log and powerfully threw it against Soarin’s head. When Spitfire turned to Lightning Dust she only saw how this light opal pegasus pony is coming very fast her way. Spitfire tried to cover herself but it was late. Lightning Dust caught Spitfire and rose with her to room’s ceiling to smash her old Capitan in there. Spitfire tried to use wings but it was useless and only caused pain. When they reached ceiling Lightning Dust smashed Spitfire at it and let her freely fall back to ground. Immediately as she fell down to the ground Lightning Dust shouted “TAKE THIS!” and flew against her. But as was Trixie throwing logs at Soarin she accidently hit Lightning Dust.

“Gosh! I’m sorry Lightning.”

“This is our time! Get together, everypony!” Twilight shouted and ran to others. Rainbow Dash couldn’t move but Soarin was close to her. When Twilight ran towards Rainbow Dash her horn started to glow. Trixie knew what will happen but she was too far.

“Lightning Dust, don’t let them escape!” but it was too late. Trixie tried last thing. She took another log what held fire beneath cauldron and threw it against Twilight. But that was mistake. Cauldron didn’t hold his balance and spilled his content. Twilight got to her friend and teleported them all back to her library.

“NOOOOOOOOO!!! Now everything is lost! Potion is on the ground, my plans are destroyed and they all escaped! But I will find them! I will kill them! Lightning Dust do you know where that gryphon is? We will need another heart.”

“I think that yes. I think she is in the mountains. They’re east from here.”

“So what are we waiting for? Let’s go!"
