What You Wish For 3: The Book of Earth Pony

Sorry about how short these chapters are, I've been focusing mainly upon spending time with my boyfriend and have gotten sidetracked by my upcoming birthday. I'm going to try and begin releasing a chapter every week, except next week for two reasons: 1) I will be in Mexico (about 3000 miles from my computer) and 2) It's going to be my birthday so i want to take a break from everything. I know things are getting a little shallow in these chapters (such a bad pun considering what's going on in this chapter) but I've also been caught up in my relationship's first week anniversary (most teen relationships i know don't last longer than two hours so this is big for me). ANYWHO, enjoy what is here and know that I love you all (calm down J I don't mean it like that.)

Chapter 9:
What Lurks Beneath Part 1

The first few hours of the trip were quite interesting; they usually are when it’s your first time on a boat of that size. As the boat sailed across the Big Flippin’ Ocean, the group managed to entertain themselves through songs and dancing as well as games. But eventually they entertained themselves out and had to focus on the mission at hand, for the dangers that lurked underwater were preferred unseen. As the boat sailed through the choppy waters, Alex stood at the front of the ship with his hands circling over his eyes like binoculars while Lauren and the captain watched over the ocean.

Fluttershy stood by Alex’s side, the wind blowing gently through her mane as she said, “This is wonderful, we should do this more minus the end of the world thing.”

Alex quietly chuckled as he said without looking at her, “Yeah. Hey will we be able to see any beautiful and majestic creatures?”

Fluttershy nodded her head; she gently placed her hoof on Alex’s hands and directed his vision towards a group of dolphins doing flips in the air. Alex’s jaw began to slack as she said with a giggle, “How’s that for majestic?”

Alex rolled his eyes; he had already seen dolphins before and said to the yellow pegasus, “We already have dolphins back on earth. I meant things that we can only see here in Equestria.”

Fluttershy nudged Alex as she said, “Well those things usually live farther out in the ocean, keep your eyes peeled and maybe you’ll find something.”

Alex smiled at the corner of his mouth before saying, “Alright, might we be able to see Seaponies?”

Fluttershy began to back away as she said with nervousness in her voice, “For your sake… I hope not.”

Alex continued to stare through his makeshift binoculars; he began to spot something in the distance. A small couple of dots that slowly began to grow and shoe more detail as the ship sailed towards them, they slowly began to show what they truly were and made Alex feel like an explorer.

Mike slowly approached Alex as he said, “Yo, man, what’re you seein’?”

Alex didn’t take his eyes away from his magical hands, he continued to stare through them as he said, “We’re nearing a small patch of islands.”

Twilight galloped up to Alex’s side as she said with a growing look of worry on her face, “How many islands?”

Alex quickly began to count them, after a few seconds he said, “Looks like ten islands or so.”

Twilight began to shake at the legs, she had a look of fear in her eyes as she said with a gulp, “Oh no, oh no, this is bad!”

Alex looked down to his side to see the lavender unicorn beginning to pull at Alex’s shirt as he sad, “Why, what’s so bad about some seemingly harmless tropical islands?”

Slowly as the boat approached the small sandy islands, fog as thick as a blanket began to roll in. The low flying clouds began to envelop the ship, blocking their vision from seeing any more than thirty feet in front of the boat. The captain continued to sail, though, and as they began to near the islands they could see wrecked ships scattered amongst sharp rocks that were previously invisible. Twilight began to tug harder at Mike and Alex’s shirts as she said, “That’s why, these rocks are called the adventurer’s arrows and they have claimed the lives of many explorers. It’s not the boats I’m afraid of it’s the…”

Twilight was cut off from finishing her sentence; a gentle humming began to ring out amongst the rocks. The voice carried a beautiful note which made Twilight along with the captain’s fur stand up. Twilight let go in fear as she said, “Seaponies.”

Lauren looked towards Twilight as she said with a tone of urgency, “Get them inside pronto!”

Alex was suddenly being tugged by Applejack and Dash; they tugged at the two humans and dragged them into the room as Pinkie Pie said with a serious tone, “For the love of Celestia, do not open your eyes!”

Alex, Mike, Spike, Discord and the captain were suddenly blindfolded inside the dining hall. They listened to the chanting that came from beyond the rocks; the beautiful voices sang melodious tunes that made Alex, Spike, and Mike all feel wonderful on the inside. Alex calmly said, “The girls must be afraid of us having a crush on the sea ponies.”

The captain spoke in a deep and raspy voice, “That’s essentially it.”

Mike suddenly tripped over a chair he attempted to sit on as he said, “Meaning?”

Discord slowly hovered above them all as he said, “A while back, seaponies were very well loved. Yet as the years went on, the other ponies began to move away from the seaponies for they could not ever live with them, what with the whole longs and gills problem. So the more the ponies began to distance themselves, the more the female seaponies became aggressive. Now they are extremely dangerous and are known for claiming the lives of the colts and stallions who would survive the adventurer’s arrows.”

Spike began to huddle closer to Alex as he said, “Dude… that’s creepy.”

Discord did not laugh, he had a very flat tone as he said, “Yes… yes it is.”

Alex listened as the humming grew louder, he began to fear the singing as it had a chilling tone to it. He broke the silence and said, “How come Twilight and the girls aren’t down here?”

The captain quickly responded in his Scottish accent, “Aye, the mares of the ocean crave only for the men. The will claim our lives in one way, through eye contact, yet it does not affect the fillies and mares of the solid ground.”

Alex sighed as he said, “Great, they get the easy side of it.”

Mike quickly brought his hand up as he said, “Shh! Y’ hear that?”

Everyone in the room quickly silenced, and all they could hear was the nervous breathing coming from each of them as the waves crashed against the creaking boat. They continued to listen, but nothing could be heard aside from the noises of the ocean. After a few seconds, Alex broke the silence and said, “It was probab”

The sound of the window shattering made Spike jump, he quickly began to run forward until he tripped over a chair. Alex began to listen as best as he could, but without being able to see it he was useless. As everyone in the room looked around and listened to the slithering, they tripped over each other as well as the rugs in the room. As everything went silent again, Alex could hear the faint breathing of a slithering creature. The blindness scared him to the bone as he could hear the slithering approach him. A sudden strong pressure against his chest caused him to lose his breath as he was violently pushed out the window, after a few faint seconds of weightlessness Alex felt thee coldness of the water surround him.

Despite the water, he could hear something speaking to him in a beautiful voice, “What for do you hide your beautiful eyes?”

Alex simply shook his head before hearing another woman’s voice, “Do you not want to see the true majestic form of the seapony?”

There was a pause; Alex began to struggle as he was losing his breath. His thrashing only made the situation worse as he felt the tail of a scaly creature tighten around his ankles while a woman said, “Come on… open your eyes.”

Alex gave up, he was either going to drown or get killed, so he opened his eyes. The sight of an actual seapony scared the rest of the air out of him, the true ugliness was almost vomit inducing. The long uncut and wet fur that mixed with the scales of the seapony clashed with the goat eyes that shined like fire, the teeth as sharp as knives poked out of its mouth as small fins at either side flapped furiously.

Yet nothing happened to Alex, the sea ponies began to anger as they said, “What’s this, you have not succumbed to us?”

Alex looked down to see his chest had grown to a C cup; he brought his hands up to feel his long hair and his eyelashes. His plan had worked; he was immune to their spell. Alex began to ball up as he collected the last of his energy; his life clock was beginning to time out as he used up the last of his energy to explode a large pulse. The force of the shockwave was so intense that water began to curve around him and form a giant bubble, the seaponies were launched out of the water and onto the small island as Alex continued to repel everything surrounding him.

The passengers of the boat, mainly the women, watched as a large hole in the water formed that sank to the bottom revealing Alex looking back up at them. Lauren’s eyes widened with awe as she said, “Not bad! That’s one way to make a bubble.”

Alex quickly lifted himself off the bottom of the sea and floated up to the ship, he gently landed on the hard ground as he said, “I remember one of the guys saying that women aren’t affected by the seaponies. So I turned myself into a woman.”

Fluttershy slowly hovered over as she said with a nervous look, “That’s not permanent right? Cause I like colts…”

Rainbow Dash nudged Fluttershy out of the way as she said with a grin, “If you don’t want her, I can take her.”

Alex gently giggled as he said, “Wow… so this is what it’s like to be a girl.” As Alex watched Mike emerge from the captain’s room, he said with a wink towards Pinkie, “Now I see why you wanted him, Pinkie. He’s a strapping young fellow.”

Mike gave an awkward look as he said, “Okay that creepy.”

Alex shook his head as he said, “You’re right, the estrogen is getting to my head.” Alex closed his eyes, he felt his body shift and shape, grow and shrink. When he opened them up again, he could see his toes once again. Alex frowned slightly as he said, “Damn, I was so looking forward to studying female anatomy.”

Lauren slapped Alex across the face as she said jokingly, “You’re a pig.”

The girls rolled their eyes as they resumed their posts, leaving Alex behind as he said, “What? You would try peeing standing up if you could turn into a guy and you know it!”
