What You Wish For 3: The Book of Earth Pony

So I am very sorry for the delay, i just got caught up in the whole breaking up and relationship stuff as well as getting back from Cancun. Anyways after waaaay too long, here is the next chapter. Enjoy!

After facing down the Seaponies, Alex and the rest of the group had calmed down and continued sailing out of the Adventurer’s Arrows. As the ship sailed through the clear turquoise water, with the wind in their favor, Alex walked up beside Twilight at the tip of the ship and asked her, “Those seaponies were pretty freaky things.”

Twilight continued staring out at the endless ocean as she said, “Yeah, but things get much worse now that we are in the open.”

Alex paused for a minute, he took a quick look around before saying, “I don’t see anything that could crash into us, or fall on top of us.”

Twilight slowly turned her head as she said, “What about from under?”

Alex’s eyes widened a bit, he slowly peered over the edge and looked into the deep abyss before saying, “What about from under?”

Twilight slowly approached his side as she said while also peering over the edge, “While there are dragons, serpents, lycans, and other monsters on land, they aren’t scary because we know they exist. But what about the things that lurk from under the water, we don’t know how scary they get or how big, all we know is that something lurks down there.”

Alex’s eyes began to dart, he was looking for a way to change the subject but accidentally said, “Like what?” Alex could immediately feel regret for saying this.

Twilight gulped before saying, “Legends have it that beneath the sand, at the very bottom of the Ocean, lies a creature of unmatched terror.”

Before Twilight could carry on, Discord slowly approached the two, he began to float around them as he said, “It was like a science experiment gone wrong, I just wanted to see the cross between some other animals like how I created the cockatrice. I decided to go with the gorilla and the squid, two completely different things that might have worked. But I overpowered it, the creature grew far stronger than me, and like a god it will never die.”

Twilight continued to peer over the edge as she said in a slightly trembling voice, “Sailors gave it a name that would strike fear into the hearts of all other land lovers as much as the sight of it would.”

Alex wanted to end the conversation as fast as possible as he said, “What was its name?”

Twilight refused to answer him, she simply shook her head as she said, “The very mentioning of his name is bad luck to everyone. No creature of any power has dared sink to the bottom to discover what it looks like now.”

Alex gulped as he said, “This is creeping me out, how big would it be?”

Discord shrugged as he said, “I created it over a thousand years ago, who knows how big it’s become.”

Alex closed his eyes, he knew this was a bad idea. After not thinking it over he said to the two, “I’m going to find out what it is, we need whatever we can to fight Earth when they attack.”

Twilight began to pull Alex away from the edge of the ship as she said, “Oh no you are not! That thing will wipe you from existence simply by looking at you.”

Alex broke from her magic, he stumbled a bit before saying, “I’m sorry but I have to do this, if we could get whatever this thing is onto our side we will have a better chance of winning.” With that, Alex hopped over the edge. He could feel the wind rushing past his ear before he plunged into the cold salty water, the cold water sent a shock up his spine as soon as he was entirely submerged. Alex quickly began to push the water away from him, creating a bubble of air and sea level pressure as he began to drop. The water began to darken as he slowly sank deeper and deeper, the ocean creatures becoming more nightmare fuel as he continued.

Alex suddenly froze in place, the coldness was becoming unbearable but that was the least of his worries. Staring back at him was a pair of glowing red eyes, a quick blast of light from Alex revealed the body of a supersized Megalodon. The body was stretching far beyond Alex’s light, yet he hadn’t needed to shine it much further for the Alex sized teeth indicated the danger level to be over 9000. Alex quickly began to blast his way up, the very speed he was traveling at was consuming more and more energy as the Mega shark chased after him. Alex burst out of the water as he shouted, “Move! I think I got it angry.”

The crew on the ship watched as Alex breached the water, soon followed by the snout of the largest fish any of them had ever seen. Alex continued to rise into the air as the Mega Megalodon slowly began to approach him, catching up to the tiring Alex.

Alex could feel his head throb as his eyes fluttered with exhaustion, he could smell the mouth of the shark begin to engulf him as it rotted with the stench of dead fish and ocean water. As Alex slowed down, he watched as the mouth of the shark began to close on him. Before Alex ran out of energy, he watched as the teeth clamped together, trapping him inside the mouth that was large enough to fit a transport truck.

As the shark began to fall back down, Alex watched as a body jumped onto the teeth. Mike had his green wings fully extended as he stood upon the mouth of the shark, bringing his fist back for a punch. When Mike’s fist connected with the shark, he immediately remembered he had an impact triggered shotgun attached to his arm which busted the teeth apart.

Mike looked into the dark void of the shark’s mouth to see Alex floating there (actually he was falling but it was at the same speed as the shark, creating the illusion he was floating), Mike quickly wrapped his arm around Alex’s waist before jumping into the air.

Mike could feel the rush of adrenaline as the thought of being a hero yet again helped sprout his wings, the green wire mesh like wings helped him in flying away from the monster. Mike soared as fast as he could towards the boat as he shouted, “Gotta move, that thing looks pissed.”

Fluttershy simply stood there, her knees buckling as she whimpered, “Cuddling with a dragon sounds really nice at the moment.”

Mike was moving too fast towards the boat and landed, or rather crashed, gracefully onto the deck, causing Alex to tumble like a ragdoll. Mike got to his feet as he said, “Lauren, you’re the powerful one here, can’t you get us out of this?”

Lauren frantically flailed her arms as she said, “I haven’t read the book of Pegasus yet, you and Dash pull the boat while Twilight and I fend off whatever that thing is.”

Mike nodded his head as he shouted, “Alright RD, let’s get this biatch movin’!” With that, Mike took off into the air again with the rainbow maned pegasus close behind.

As they rounded the ship, they could see the monster shark swimming up towards the ship with its mouth wide open. The two quickly soared to the front where Applejack tossed a couple of lassoes around their necks for them to pull. The two struggled as hard as they could, they could feel the vessel slowly begin to move.

As soon as the boat was moving fast, the rest of the crew watched as the massive fish breached the water yet again. Huge waves were sent towards the ship as the shark narrowly missed the boat on its descent, causing the boat to push forward even faster.

Fluttershy shook Alex as she shouted, “Please wake up, Alex!”

Discord began to pull on the collar of Alex’s shirt as he said, “The poor boy tired himself out quite a bit, he’s going to miss out on all our fun.”

Meanwhile, Twilight and Lauren watched as the shark breached the water yet again. As the shark descended, Twilight said to Lauren, “Got any ideas?”

Lauren shook her head as she wondered, “Something that big couldn’t possibly be scared of anything.”

It was almost as though a small light bulb appeared over Twilight’s head as she said, “Fear! I have an idea.” Twilight galloped towards the edge of the boat as she shouted, “Hey, Slenderman!”

It only took a few seconds before a large black plume of smoke to crash into the boat, the thick fumes poured in every direction as a faceless man got to his feet. As he towered over the rest of the crew, he looked towards Twilight and said with a shrug, “What do you want now?”

Twilight pointed her hoof towards the large shark as she said, “Use whatever method you can to scare that beast away!”

Slenderman turned around, he slowly looked up to see the towering monster’s fin as he nervously said, “I’ll see what I can do.”

Slenderman slowly began to make his way towards the end of the ship, the captain watched as he treaded calmly as though there wasn’t a single problem in the world. As the faceless creature reached the edge of the boat, he made one simple hop off the edge and landed on the snout of the rising shark. He quickly dashed towards the face, looking for one of its eyes to hop in front. Once he spotted it’s left eye, he slid towards it before grabbing around the edges of it.

He looked down at the fully black eye the size of him, he inhaled deeply before focusing all of his energy on his unique power to strike fear. The shark began to slow down when it saw the man’s face begin to distort and tear itself apart while tentacles poured out of it. The shark began to feel an unnatural sense of fear so strong that it began to turn around. The shark quickly sank back into the water and swim away, as soon as Slenderman felt water touch his shoe, he turned back into a plume of smoke and headed back towards the boat.

When Slenderman landed, he looked towards Mike and Discord as he said, “Anything else you need help with?”

Mike hopped back onto the deck as he said, “Wait a minute, I saw this dude earlier this week. Who are you?”

Slenderman slowly bowed as he said in a calm tone, “I am Slenderman, the master of fear, the god of nightmares, the guy who made you wet yourself when you were a kid. No need to introduce yourself, my young fellow, for I already know everything about you simply by looking at you.”

Discord began to float towards him, he had a curious look on his face as he said, “You don’t look like anything I would have created, you are so… complex.”

Slender stuck his hand out for a shake as he informed him, “I am not your creation, ShadowThunder was my creator, crafted from the fears of Alex and was originally meant to kill him but somehow befriended him. Call me John, by the way.” John paused for a moment, he looked around at the crew as he said out loud, “Speaking of Alex, where is he?”

Rarity trotted up as she said, “Alex tired himself out, poor boy hasn’t enough energy these days. I believe it’s because of all the things Spike feeds him.”

The little purple dragon shouted out, “Hey, it’s not my fault he likes my cookies. Besides, he deserves them for doing the things he does often.”

As the cute couple bickered about Alex’s dieting, Pinkie bounced into Mike’s arms as she said, “As for you, Mr. Hero Pants, you deserve a party for being such a hero.”

Mike tightly hugged her as he giggled, “As soon as our adventure is done.”

Applejack trotted up as she said to Slenderman, “If y’all want to see Alex, he’s restin’ his eyes in the lounge.” Applejack then began to trot towards a door; she gently pushed it open to reveal Alex fast asleep in one of the hammocks. AJ whispered, “Just be quiet, recently he’s begun to have nightmares according to Fluttershy.”

Slenderman whispered, “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” With that, Applejack gently shut the door behind her before trotting back out with the rest of the group. Slenderman was left alone with Alex; the blinds were rolled down to block most of the sunlight from entering the room. John slowly tip-toed towards Alex’s bed before gently sitting down; making sure not to make too much noise as he rested next to Alex while whispering, “Wake up, kiddo.”

Alex rolled over as he said with a whisper, “How did you know I wasn’t asleep?”

John laughed quietly, “It’s impossible for me to enter your dreams if you aren’t asleep. I couldn’t help but remember seeing the cliff side city collapse in flames, seeing the anger on your face meant something incredibly important was going on behind the scenes right?”

Alex sighed, he gently raised his head as he said, “My own people, the ones I once talked so highly about, are waging war on this peaceful place.”

“You’re kidding right?”

“You’re right, we just destroyed Canterlot simply to fool you, no this is legit.”

“But why would they want to fight us?”

“Because they thought I killed the leader of their army which means war to them. Also ShadowThunder is behind all of this, I just know it.”

“What makes you say that?”

“Ky… Oscar was there, turns out he was a double agent working for her.”

“Pfft, called it.”

“Anyways, we’re on a quest for two things right now: to find the book of Earth Pony as well as recruit some of Equestria’s creatures.”

Slenderman gently rose to his feet as he said, “Well… count me in.”

Alex stuck out his hand to shake John’s as he said, “I guess this whole shark attack wasn’t a recruiting failure after all.”
