Chapters Storm Rider-Chapter 3
I walk for around two hours before hearing a strange sound, as I move towards it I realise that the sound is a voice, a voice singing beautifully in a high piercing tone that would put angels to shame. I walk towards the sound as if in a trance finally emerging from the forest into an open grassy meadow, a large, neat cottage sat nearby with a well, a chicken coop and a clothesline, at the clothesline stood a young woman looking to be maybe two years my elder, her fur was a light yellow and her hair and tail a light pastel pink, she wore a bright yellow dress which fell to her knees and as she hung her clothes on the line she sang, she was the one I had heard while walking through the forest.
I approached her slowly and called out "excuse me miss, could you help me?" She stiffened suddenly and dropped the shirt she was holding, she turned and looked at me half her face covered by her beautiful long hair, the eye I could see was wide and frightened "oh...I...um" she stammered in a quiet squeak. "It's alright, I won't hurt you" I stop where I am and raise my hands to show her I mean no harm, she seems slightly reassured, "so, what is your name?" I ask in a light and friendly tone she looks up at me with one large and beautiful turquoise eye "m-my n-name is f-fluttershy" she says quietly a million thoughts race through my head but in the end I cannot accept these words from the yellow and pink mare," I suppose she would be a mare wouldn't she?" This is the last thought in my head before my sight fills with black and I collapse onto the soft grass
As I come to, I hear raised voices in the background "why should we help him, we don't even know who he is!" Another voice speaks up this one with a thick accent "Ah agree, he jus' turned up outta nowhere an' now y'all jus' wanna bring him inta yah own homes, yah ain't thinkin' straight Twilight" I have to stifle a gasp as I recall my conversation with the yellow mare, no my conversation with the actual, real life Fluttershy! I sit up quickly opening my eyes and looking around the room which was completely wooden and surrounded by bookshelves... No the bookshelves were built into the walls themselves and the house wasn't built it was hollowed out from a tree, "no way" I say out loud with a large grin "that must mean I'm in..." A voice from beside me responds "ponyville darling"
I look over to see a graceful and refined mare in a white dress sitting by the bed, she had a stylish purple mane and tail and wire large diamond earrings "rarity" I breathed just loud enough for her to hear. She looked surprise but then regained her composure "it would seem my reputation precedes me" she says with a smirk, she flicks her hair and I notice her white horn on her forehead, "about time you woke up!" I'm startled by a voice at the foot of the bed, a small boy crawls up onto the end and sits cross-legged he blows a strand of his messy emerald green hair out of his face, a long scaly purple tail writhes around him the colour matching his plain purple t-shirt and he wore light green shorts, I noticed all if this and said "you're spike aren't you?" He looked up lazily with his emerald green eyes and replied lazily "what's it to you?"
I go to reply when a loud growl from my stomach cuts me off. I blush and grin "sorry about that, guess I haven't eaten for a while" rarity looks at me with a smile "we must fix that then for you...umm, I don't believe you've told me your name" oh man I was so psyched I totally forgot to introduce myself "Oh sorry miss Rarity, my name is Jayce" I smile taking her hand and lightly placing my lips against the back of it "its a pleasure to meet you fair lady" rarity lets out a small ladylike laugh and spike hisses in displeasure, "oh stop that you you're making me blush" she says as she stands and lightly dusts off her already immaculate dress
I get up to follow her and then remember how I'm dressed, I blush and cross my arms over my chest "sorry about the way I'm dressed but this is all I woke up with" rarity smiles again "oh that's fine darling, I'm sure we can find you something better to wear, but first I shall prepare you some breakfast" I follow her into the kitchen and she begins to prepare ingredients and utensils for making breakfast she calls over her shoulder "oh spike do be a dear and come here a minute will you?" Spike hurries over and they converse for a second. Rarity takes a step back and spike opens his mouth wide and sends a blast if green fire into the oven, the logs inside catch fire instantly and rarity gives spike a hug and a kiss on the cheek "thank you so much spike" she smiles and spike steps back with stars in his eyes.
Rarity finishes preparing breakfast, several plates of large golden pancakes, while spike and I chat about how the world around here works and what's being going on lately, I figure that compared with the episodes we are a few days away from the return of Trixie, I also learn that it was fluttershy who carried me all the way from her cottage to twilights library and that the other Mane 5 are in the living room deciding what their next move should be now that I have appeared. Rarity calls out "breakfast is ready, would you two go out and get the others for me?" I nod and follow spike through the house to the living room.
When we arrive I get a mixed reaction "a-are you alright" says a concerned fluttershy "you shouldn't be moving around yet" a straightforward twilight "what the hay do yah think yah're doing jus' wanderin' round like ya own the place" an angry applejack "hi you must be new here I'm pinkie" a smile from the party pony and cool stare from an unreadable Rainbow Dash. "Rarity asked us to let you know breakfast is ready" I state simply, before turning and calmly following Spike back to the kitchen, we return to find the table set with eight large plates of pancakes,
I wait for everyone else to sit and then take the leftover seat at the end of the table this lands me with fluttershy to one side and twilight to the other and applejack straight across from me, all throughout the meal she watched me as if I was going to jump up and kill them all with my butter knife, also throughout the breakfast all the mares quizzed me about my identity, my life and how id ended up here, I couldn't tell them much about that last one as even I didnt know. After breakfast I help to clear away the dishes and then just stand at the bench staring out the window, the mane 6 had returned to the living room to continue their discussion and spike had gone to take a nap.
I notice a movement behind me and turn to find myself face to face with rainbow dash, she still had that unreadable expression on her face and she stepped forward even closer so that our faces were only a few centimetres apart, "listen to me Jayce, Applejack doesn't trust you and neither do I" she dug her fingers into my upper arms "I look after my friends no matter what, so if you wanna try anything just remember that I'll be there watching you" with this she released my arms spun on her heel and walked calmly out if the kitchen, I rubbed gingerly at my arms, my fingers brushed something soft, oh my god how could I forget these?! I had been so caught up in the moment that I had forgotten my wings! I quickly rushed outside and leaped into the air, I unfurled my wings, felt the glorious wind in my face....
And smacked into the ground, hard, I picked myself up off the ground and dusted myself off, I heard giggles from behind me and turned to see all of the Mane 6, rainbow was the one laughing "now what's all this here commotion about?" Demanded applejack. "I-I...um... I just remembered my wings and so... I thought I might try them out" I blush and grin sheepishly. That was the last straw Rainbow started laughing so hard she had to clutch onto fluttershy to stop herself from falling she looked up "you think you can just fly? Just like that? Flying takes hard work and practice" she said between bursts of laughter "oh yeah well how about you teach me then?" I retaliate. Rainbow stops laughing and grins "you're not half bad kid, you're on" I grin back
I open my eyes slowly bright sunlight, tinged slightly green, assaults my senses, I sit up slowly. "Damn it's cold" I look down rubbing the sleep out of my eyes and see the long karate-style pants I wear to sleep, lightly dusted with dirt and a few leaves sitting proudly atop them. I open my eyes wide and take note of my surroundings, I'm sitting in the middle of a large forest with no one around. "ok this is definitely not my bedroom" I murmur to myself.
I stand rubbing some dirt off of my pants, and I feel something brush against my leg, I whirl around quickly and look around but can't see anything, I feel the brushing again, I pat the back of my leg and feel something soft and silky, I twist to look behind me and notice a large tail hanging from my waist,and a large pair of wings that slowly fade from brown near the base to black near the tips, my eyes widen slightly " ok so that's new" I tug on them but stop when I feel a sharp pain in my back, I also notice that my darkly tanned skin has now gained a light coating of darkish brown fur with a lighter patch over my abdominal muscles, I run my hands through my hair, as I do I notice my messy curly dark brown hair has now turned perfectly straight and jet black with the exception of a few messy spikes and some red streaks, and my ears, my ears had become longer and pointed like and elf's or... Like a horse "Oh my god this day just keeps getting weirder... But if it gets me out of school I'm cool with it" I grin and start to walk in a random direction
