Chapter 4
The night was calm, the breeze was gentle outside and everything seemed perfect. Tornado started to feel a little distressed in his sleep. The more he did, the more he moved around and mumbled of what he was dreaming. Tornado woke up, instantly sitting up. He was panting and was looking around the room.
“It was just a dream.” Tornado mumbled to himself as he was panting. He wiped some sweat off of his forehead and gently lifted Scion’s head off of his chest and placed it on a pillow. He slowly got out of bed and walked towards the balcony doors. He opened them slowly and stood out on the balcony, looking at the view of Ponyville.
The gentle breeze nipped at Scion’s body causing him to stir slowly. He awoke slowly. He started to approach Tornado slowly and stood next to him, looking into the view. “Couldn’t sleep?” Scion asked with a soft tone.
“N-No it’s not that, it’s something else.” Tornado responded.
“Well, can’t you tell me what it is?” Scion felt a little curious and wanted to know.
“I-I” Tornado then let out a long sigh, “okay, I will.”
“Okay, I’m listening.” Scion centred his attention towards Tornado.
“I had a dream, about my childhood.” He looked at Scion, “I hope you’re ready.”
Scion nodded gently. “Of course.”
“Well, my childhood wasn’t the greatest parts of my life, in fact it was one of the worst.” Tornado then looked out into the horizon, “When I was born, both of my parents were killed on the way back home, I somehow survived the event and was taken to an orphanage.” He tried holding back the tears. Tornado’s voice began to break down into sadness. “In the orphanage I was known as the different one of the group, ponies used to beat me and the ponies that looked after us turned a blind eye to it.” Tears formed in Tornado’s eyes, “and when I fought back, I was whipped and beaten by the carers.” He began to cry silently, now with tears streaming down his cheeks.
Scion looked shocked and immediately comforted him with a hug and using one of his wings to rub Tornado’s back. “I’m so sorry Tornado.” He let Tornado cry into his fur. “I’m so, so sorry.” He rubbed his back gently with his wing, “it’s okay, Scion is here.” Scion said in a comforting tone. Tornado just sobbed, wanting the past to never haunt his mind again.
“I have these dreams every night, but I never woke you to comfort me.” Tornado sniffled and just cried harder. “I’m sorry.”
“No, no don’t be it’s not your fault Torny.” Scion just kept comforting him.
Tornado then looked into Scion’s eyes with tears, “look, Scion you’re a great friend but I-”
Scion placed a hoof on Tornado’s lips. “Hush, It’s okay.” Scion then kissed Tornado softly as he closed his eyes slowly. Tornado seemed shocked at first but then had a wave of pleasure and warmth and then closing his eyes. Tornado had tears streaming down his cheeks as they kissed. Both of them had glowing blushes growing on their cheeks as they embraced the touch of each other’s lips. Scion then broke the kiss slowly and looked into Tornado’s eyes, “I love you Tornado.”
“I-I” Tornado seemed speechless from the kiss they shared.
“Hmm?” Scion giggled lightly and stroked Tornado’s cheek.
“I love you too Scion.” Tornado then kissed Scion again, closing his eyes once more. Scion also closed his eyes. They both took breaths during the kiss every now and then, but kept it going. Tornado seemed to love the taste of Scion’s kisses, whenever he had the chance; he licked his own lips to experience it again. He broke it slowly and looked into Scion’s sparkling, brown eyes. “Come on, let’s get some sleep.” Tornado smiled lovingly while stroking his mane.
“I’d like that Torny.” Scion cuddled Tornado, keeping him close to him.
Tornado felt a wave of warmth pass through him as he walked with Scion back to bed. “I’ve felt this way about you for a while.”
“But it’s only been a few days Torny.” Scion chuckles softly and got back into the bed. Tornado then laid down next to him and cuddle up to him.
“I know, but it’s still a little while right?” Tornado gave Scion’s chest a quick kiss then laying his head back down onto it.
“Well, yeah but not as long as me.” Scion stroked Tornado’s mane. Tornado lifted his head up and looked Scion in the eyes.
“Oh yeah?” Tornado and Scion then kissed again. They both closed their eyes and then broke it shortly afterwards.
“Of course.” Scion grinned at Tornado. “On the night I met you, Tornado Dash I already developed feelings for you in a way, you are charming and funny, not to mention handsome.”
“Not as handsome as you Scion.” Tornado kissed his cheek.
Scion giggled. “We need a saying.”
“I got one.” Tornado smiled warmly. He held Scion by his cheeks. “On the night I met you, our friendship was made, loyalty was formed instantly, I would stand by you in any situation, even if it means dying for you. I would take my own life for you, to ensure you’re safe, never would I betray you, never would I be selfish and think of only myself. On the night I met you, an unbreakable friendship was formed that soon turned into a sweet love, and our love shall never break.” Tornado kissed Scion and then smiled. “Well?”
“Sounds perfect.” Scion smiled lovingly. “You will remember that, won’t you?”
“Of course.” Tornado smiled, “as long as you do.” He chuckled as he cuddled Scion.
“Of course I will Torny, now get some sleep.” Scion kissed his forehead and began slowly closing his eyes. The two loving stallions fell into a slumber, waiting for the dawn to rise.
Morning came as the sun rose above the horizon; Tornado was the first to wake. He opened one eye and used it to look round the room, then opened the other and let out his morning yawn. He looked towards Scions sleeping body. “Heh heh, I’ll make you some breakfast.” He pecked Scions forehead lightly and then slowly headed downstairs. As Tornado reached the bottom of the stairs, he went into the kitchen humming a loving tune. The rising sun shone into the room.
Scion finally awoke from his slumber with a tired groan, finally lifting his head off the pillow. He looked towards the window, looking at the sun gleam into the windows then noticing the space next to him was empty. “Tornado?” Scion yawned and then got out of bed. He slowly made his way downstairs, letting out another yawn as he does.
Tornado was whistling a happy tune to himself until he noticed movement. He lifted his head up from making Scions breakfast and took notice of his lover standing before him. “Oh morning Scion.” Tornado spoke. “How did you sleep?”
“I slept great.” Scion smiled warmly. “What are you making?”
“Some tasty pancakes for my sweet stallion.” Tornado chuckled and tempted him by wafting the pancakes under Scions nose.
Scion chuckled softly along with him. “Don’t tempt me, I’m hungry!”
“Why do you think I did it?” Tornado smirked at scion, he then flipped the pancakes.
“Well maybe to let me have a little smell of it.” Scion walked over to Tornado and kissed his cheek.
“Oh yeah by the way, you’re good at kissing.”
Scion’s face just lit up like a spark starting a flame. “W-well thank you, you are too.” Scion smiled at Tornado and sat down at the table.
“Well, it was my pleasure.” He served Scion his pancakes. “Here are your pancakes.” Tornado placed some whipped cream on the table and some other toppings. “You can add whatever you want to it, as long as it enhances the taste for you.” He smiled at Scion.
“Thank you Tornado.” Scion grabbed the whipped cream and squirted it on top of the pancakes, then grabbing a few chocolate sprinkles and scattering them all over the top of the whipped cream. He then added a couple of sliced strawberry pieces to add a sweet pinch to his taste buds.
“Hey I was thinking, today we could go up to cloudsdale.” Tornado leaned on the kitchen counter.
“Really?” Scion began eating having the exact sweet pinch he wanted.
“Yeah, for a date maybe?” Tornado’s cheeks lit up like a flame.
“Sounds good to me Torny.” Scion blushed and smiled at his loving stallion. After he finished his pancakes he placed them on the kitchen counter and slowly walked up to Tornado. Tornado just smiled warmly into his sparkling brown eyes. They then kissed each other with Tornado gently holding Scion in his hoofs.
Tornado broke the kiss and smiled. “I’m so happy to be with you Scion and you, you will be getting a surprise gift for you to wear on our date today.”
“Ooh what’s that?” Scion smiled and nuzzled him.
“It’s a surprise.” Tornado dabbed his hoof on the whipped cream that was on the plate and smeared it on Scions nose. “Boop.”
Scion chuckled and licked it off. “Well I hope it’s worth your money.”
“Oh it will be, right I better go and get it then.” Tornado said. “It’s gonna be extremely busy.”
“I hope you find it.” Scion gave him one last kiss. “See ya later Torny.”
Tornado kissed back and smiled. “See ya later Scion.” Tornado made his way out the door, closing it behind him.
Scion went over to the couch and snuggled into it. “Look at me, I’m missing him already.” Scion said to himself while he yawned.
The Cloudsdale Market
Instead of going to the local market in Ponyville, Tornado decided to go the bigger and better one in Cloudsdale. Sure the prices were larger but most of the time it was worth it. Many Pegasi were flying backwards and forwards, going in and out of stores with both large and small bags. Tornado finally found himself at a place called ‘The Cloudsdale Jewelry.’
“Hi! welcome to The Cloudsdale Jewelry, how may I help you?” A silver coated mare with crystal blue eyes and a black silky, long mane came to help Tornado decide what he wanted.
“Oh yes you may miss?” Tornado seemed to want to know her name.
“Oh I’m Silverspark, I own this store and I would love to help you, now what are you looking for?” She said with a bright smile.
“I’m looking for rings, maybe for proposal?” Tornado was looking around the shop.
“Ooh, that lucky mare of yours will love what I will have for her.” She gingerly went over towards the ring cabinet.
Tornado nervously chuckled at the words ‘lucky mare’ “Y-yeah, she sure is lucky.” Obviously now wasn’t a good time to admit it was a stallion.
“Ooh!” She squeaked with thrill and excitement. “I found the perfect bunch, come and take a look.” She placed a small bag on the counter.
Tornado slowly edged over to take a look at a small group of rings. “Wow, these all look beautiful.”
“I said the same thing when they got delivered here!” She giggled softly and pulled out a random ring from the bag. It had a large diamond on the top.
“Nah, too cliche.” Tornado commented. She pulled out another one that had loads of little diamonds round the ring. “I’m considering that.”
“Goodie, we’re getting somewhere!” She giggled softly again and started looking through. She then pulled out one that had a label saying ‘carve name here’ it also had parts of diamond around it too, but not over the part that can have the name carved into it.
“Perfect!” Tornado clapped with joy. “I’ll take that one.”
“Ooh, excellent! I just need her name and then I’ll go carve it in, it’ll only take me seconds,” she smiled with a pleased expression in her face.
“Scion.” Tornado nervously spoke. “It’s a stallion.”
“A stallion, well I don’t mind you dating a stallion at all.” She stroked Tornado’s mane. “No need to be nervous.”
“Thank you.” Tornado then seemed to calm his nerves.
“I’ll just go and make this for you.” She trotted happily into the back room and started crafting the name into the ring. About an hour later she came back with the ring. “Here you go, sorry it took so long, I had to carve it in and then fill it with some cyan pieces shaped to each letter.
“You know the color of his coat?” Tornado stared at the ring. The diamonds sparkling and the beautiful cyan letters of Scions name were in the ring.
“No I don’t actually, just imagining that name told me, cyan.” She looked up. “That’ll be one hundred bits.”
“Oh sure thing.” Tornado paid the one hundred bits required to purchase the ring.
“Thank you very much.” She took them and placed them into the register.
“No, no thank you for giving this me.” Tornado smiled softly and hugged her.
She returned the hug with a tiny, joyful squeak, “it was my pleasure, really.”
Tornado broke the hug, “I hope to see you again someday.” He smiled at her, “but until then, good day to you.” Tornado left the store and began heading back home. It’s only been less than twenty four hours of Scion and Tornado being together and he’s wanting to propose.
The question is, is now the right time to do so?
