CMC Adventures: The Dance

                            Applebloom and Sweetie Belle arrived at the address that their sisters gave

them.  Applebloom looked nervous and much to her dismay Sweetie Belle had spotted Pipsqueak walking down the road away from Rumble's house. Sweetie Belle said her goodbyes to Applebloom as she left to catch up with Pipsqueak and now she had to knock on the door on her own.

Applebloom arrived at the door and knocked on it three times she heard some pony get to the door and when it opened she saw a dark colored stallion with a light cyan mane, "Um... are you Thunderlane?" Applebloom seemed rather nervous  talking to the stallion.

He took a moment to respond, his gaze softened as he answered the fillies question, "Yes I am, are you one of Rumble's friends?" Thunderlane knew the answer already he's never seen this filly around Rumble before, but he described a filly like her to him before.

"Um... well not really, but I wanted to ask you, if you could tell me anything about Rumble, like maybe what he likes to do or... well something we can do together?" Applebloom was looking at the ground shuffling her hooves.

Thunderlane could see the fillies nervousness and smiled, "Well Rumble's seemed a bit down for the past couple of days, I was going to send him to Sugar Cube Corner for a treat to make him feel better, I'm sure he'll appreciate your company," Thunderlane could see the yellow filly's mood lighten up as he finished.

"That sounds great I'd love to accompany him to Sugar Cube Corner," Applebloom could feel her heart flutter at the invitation to join Rumble for a treat.

"Great, I'll go get him," as the dark stallion walked away Applebloom could hear him call for Rumble, "Come on Rumble, I've got surprise for you!!" he returned shortly after, "He'll be here in a moment, by the way I didn't catch your name."

"Oh my name is Applebloom, sorry forget to mention that," Applebloom smiled nervously.

"Nice to meet you Applebloom, oh and here's Rumble," Thunderlane turned his attention to his little brother, "guess what little guy, this lovely little filly is going to accompany you to Sugar Cube Corner for a treat," as Thunderlane finished, he handed his little brother a bag full of bits, "This should give you enough for you and this little filly."

When Rumble took the bag he was finally awake enough to realize who was going to go with him to Sugar Cube Corner "Applebloom, you're going to go with me?" Rumble was nervous and happy at the same time.

"Uh, yea,  I hope you don't mind if I tag along," Applebloom was obviously nervous talking to Rumble was more than difficult than she thought, his quite voice made her melt inside.

"No, no I don't mind at all," Rumble was smiling at his less than elegant response.

Thunderlane noticed his brother was trying to stall, "Alright you two, you should get going to Sugar Cube Corner those treats aren't going to eat themselves are they?" Thunderlane pushed Rumble next to Applebloom, "Now have fun you two," as the two of them walked away from Rumbles home, a thought occured to him "how did my little brother manage to score a filly before me?"

The two young ponies continued their walk to Sugar Cube Corner both of them obviously nervous about being alone together. Rumble was looking at Applebloom he'd never really had a chance to hang out with her before.

"Uh, Rumble is something wrong, you're just kind of staring at me, is there something on my bow?" Applebloom was trying to check her bow for anything that could be messing it up.

Seeing the fillies distress Rumble attempted to calm her, "No there's nothing on your bow it's perfect and pink there's nothing on it," as Rumble finished he realized that he not only caused Applebloom to blush but, he caused several other ponies to look at them an giggle, "Uh hehe, sorry about that, let's just get to Sugar Cube Corner alright," Rumble attempted to laugh the awkwardness away as they continued to walk.

Applebloom couldn't help but giggle as they continued to walk. A few minutes passed by and they both arrived at Sugar Cube Corner, as they entered the bakery they were greeted by a bubbly pink mare.

"Hey Applebloom, who's your friend, oh oh, are you both here for a sugary treat, is this like date for you two?" Pinkie Pie greeted the two little ponies happily hoping they were here for a treat.

Rumble was the first to speak up "Um miss Pinkie Pie could we just get two cupcakes please," Rumble tried to defuse the embarrassing situation with his question.

"Of course you can, and you can just call me Pinkie Pie, now why don't you two take a seat while I get your cupcakes," Pinkie Pie went to the kitchen, as she did Applebloom and Rumble headed for a table, Applebloom was hoping the rest of her day wouldn't be as embarrassing as it started.

"Wow I didn't think that she'd be that random, Thunderlane told me about her but..." Rumble trailed off as he noticed Applebloom giving him a strange look, "Is something wrong Applebloom?"

"Rumble are you okay, I mean you're usually really shy, and since we left your house you've been trying to make jokes or trying to compliment me, are you feeling okay?" Applebloom was slightly concerned as the pony she liked wasn't acting like he usually did.

"Applebloom... what would you do if I told you that I was only trying to impress you, that I really like you?" Rumble looked disheartened as he asked his question.

"Rumble I... I got to know do you like me because if you do then there's something I need to ask you, so do you like me?" Applebloom was trying to remain calm but her nervousness was starting to shine through.

As Rumble was about to answer Pinkie Pie arrived with their cupcakes, "Here you go two super delicious cupcakes," she placed a plate on the table, "is their anything else you two want?"

"Um no Pinkie Pie that's all, we'll pay on the way out okay," Rumble answered shyly as he returned to his usual personality.

"Okie Dokie Lokie, let me know if you need anything else," Pinkie Pie walked away with her usual bounce.

"Um, what is it you were trying to say Rumble?" Applebloom was nervously waiting for an answer from Rumble.

"Applebloom I actually... really like you, I've always thought you were cute with your beautiful orange eye's and your pink bow, it's just that I've never really had the confidence to tell you before," Rumble looked up and he noticed that Applebloom had a slight blush over her yellow cheeks.

Applebloom looked at Rumble with a smile on her face "well... I really like you to Rumble, and I was wondering if... if you'd like to go to the Autumn Flower Dance with me?"

Rumble quickly grew a smile as Applebloom finished her question, "I'd love to go with you to the dance Applebloom."

"Really? thats great!!!" Applebloom scooted closer to Rumble and gave him a hug "one more thing me, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo are going to head to the movies tomorrow night would you like to come with us?" Applebloom's nerves had finally settled down enough for her to relax.

"I'd love to go to the movies with you Applebloom" Rumble finally was released from Applebloom's hug as they both headed for the cash register to pay, once they did they headed out of the door and Rumble decided to do the gentlecoltly thing and walk Applebloom home, he couldn't wait to let Thunderlane know what happened.
