CMC Adventures: The Dance

                       The market place seemed to be less busy than it usually was, there where a couple of

ponies there most of them just seemed to be hanging out rather than working. Scootaloo moved through the marketplace briskly she was hoping to get to Dinky's house as fast as she could. Rainbow Dash gave her a confidence boost earlier in the morning but, she was trying to get there before she lost her nerve.

"Come on, come on where is that address I know it's on this street somewhere," Scootaloo skidded to a halt as she saw the address she had been looking for, "Finally, this house is further away than I thought, well let's do this," Scootaloo walked up and knocked three times on the door.

When the door opened there was a wall eyed mare standing there in the door way, "Um hello, is their something I can help you with?" asked the grey pegasus.

"Um yea, I was wondering if I could see Dinky," Scootaloo was relieved that Derpy had answered the door.

"Oh I'm sorry but Dinky isn't here right now, I sent her to the market place to pick some stuff up for me," Derpy looked at the orange filly's disappointment , "but, I'll let her know you came over," Derpy looked at the filly hopefully.

"Oh that'd be great, but one thing Miss Derpy do you know if Dinky is looking for any kind of special book?" Scootaloo's inquiry seemed to interest Derpy.

"Um, you can just call me Derpy, and I think she was looking for a special book called..." she trailed off looking at a piece of paper, "Magical Spells: an easy guide for beginners to magic, she's been looking for it for a while now, is their a reason you wanted to know?" Derpy looked at Scootaloo with a curious look on her face.

"Oh well, Dinky just seems to love books and I was just curious as to what she reads is all," Scootaloo gave Derpy a wide grin, "Well, uh, I'd best be going," please let Dinky know I came over if you see her before I do, and I'll see you around," Scootaloo zipped away as fast as her scooter could take her. Well I better get over to Twilight's I hope she has the book Dinky's looking for, and maybe I can find her before she goes home," as she was moving along Scootaloo noticed Sweetie Belle standing in the park smiling, "HEY SWEETIE BELLE!!!!!!!!! how it going with Pipsqueak, judging by that smile it looks like it's going really well."

"Huh, oh, yea it's going great we were just about to start going to the park, after some ice cream," Sweetie Belle looked at Scootaloo her eye's brimmed with happiness, "So, hows it going with your plan Scootaloo?"

"Oh, actually it's going great I'm going to Twilight's to find the book I'm looking for, but I really got to hurry, but I'll see you tomorrow at the meeting okay." Scootaloo began to shout something as she left "HAVE FUN AT THE PARK!!!!!"

Scootaloo arrived at the tree that served as both Twilight's house and the library, "I hope she has the book that Dinky is looking for, if she does I... hope she'll give it to me, ooohhhh enough stalling I don't have time.  Scootaloo went up to the door and knocked, as the door opened she greeted the resident, "hey, Twilight I was hoping you could help me find a book, it's kind of important," Scootaloo looked at the Purple unicorn with hopeful eye's.

Twilight was thrown back a bit by the sudden questions, "Umm sure, Scootaloo come on inside and I'll see if I can help you," Twilight led the orange filly into the library, "Now what's the name of the book you were looking for?"

Scootaloo took a moment to remember the name of the book she came here to look for, "It was called Magical Spells: an easy guide for beginners to magic, yea that's the name of the book," Scootaloo looked at Twilight hopefully.

"Um, well I'm going to assume that the book is for somepony else, I have the book right here," Twilight magically held the book in front of Scootaloo, when she saw how nervous Scootaloo looked she asked, "Is everything okay Scootaloo?"

"Um Twilight, I don't suppose I could keep this book, you know like not bring it back," as she finished her sentence Twilight quickly withdrew the book and held on to it. "It's not for me I want to give it to a filly I like, she's been looking for it and she really wants to read it, please Twilight I promise to work it off here at the library if you want but, I really need that book Twilight, please," Scootaloo gave Twilight a sad face hoping to get the book.

Twilight looked at Scootaloo and the book, her defensive expression began to turn into a compassionate one Twilight sighed,"Alright Scootaloo, you can have the book just this once okay".

Scootaloo looked up at Twilight "Really? Thanks Twilight I really appreciate it," Scootaloo grabbed the book from Twilights magical grip, "I'm really sorry for the rush but I really need to go, thanks again Twilight I really appreciate it," Scootaloo headed out of the door and to her scooter, she turned back and waved goodbye to Twilight as she zoomed away.

Scootaloo had been searching the market place for hours. Everywhere she went she seemed to just miss Dinky by a couple of minutes. She was about to just give up and head home when she noticed Dinky just steps away from where she lived.

"DINKY!!!!" Scootaloo yelled to get the filly's attention "Wait, wait," Scootaloo pulled up next to Dinky.

Dinky Just looked at her caller curious as to what she wanted, "Is there something that you need Scootaloo?"

Whenever Scootaloo herd Dinky's soft voice it made her smile, "WelI I wanted to give you this book, I got it just for you," Scootaloo handed over the book to Dinky, "I herd you were looking for it, also there was somethi..." Scootaloo was cut off by Dinky.

"Magical Spells: an easy guide for beginners to magic but, how did you know I wanted this book, it doesn't matter, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!!" Dinky pulled Scootaloo into a hug.

Scootaloo could only smile, "It was no problem, listen Dinky there was something else I wanted to ask you." Scootaloo felt Dinky let go of her.

"What is it Scootaloo?" Dinky was curious as to what else Scootaloo Could add.

"Well I... I was wondering if you would want to go to the Autumn Flower Dance with me?" Scootaloo looked nervously at Dinky.

Dinky could only blush as Scootaloo asked her to the dance, "You want me to go to the dance with you? I... I'd love to go to the dance with you Scootaloo," as she answered she smiled, happy that Scootaloo had asked her.

"Really? That's AWESOME!!!! Oh I almost forgot, me and the crusaders are going to go to the movies tomorrow night, would you like to come with us? Don't worry they're going to bring dates too".

"So I'd be your date? Sure I'd love to go as your date Scootaloo," Dinky gave Scootaloo a hug,"I'll see you tomorrow then okay," Dinky felt shy talking with Scootaloo.

"Yea I'll see you tomorrow," Scootaloo went to her scooter an road away while waving bye to Dinky.

Dinky began to think "Oh I can't believe I'm going to the dance and have a date with Scootaloo! I can't wait to tell mom!!"
