Perigee

About one hour later the three arrived at the Sparkle residence. They socialized for a little bit before the mares began dinner and the stallions (and spike) decided to toss a football around in the backyard.

Twilight, Velvet, and Cadence stood in the kitchen, making dinner while exchanging stories.

"So then the royal chef trips and lands face first into the ambassador's mane." Said Cadence. "It took two barbers and the gardener to get his braces out of her mane."

Twilight chuckled.

"Must be nice having a chef to cook for you." Said Velvet.

"Well it's multiple chefs actually." Said Cadence. "But it is pretty nice."

Twilight levitated a knife off the counter and started chopping a carrot.

"What about you Twilight?" Asked Velvet. "Anything interesting happen in Ponyville?"

"Well I had a magic duel a few months back, but I already sent you a letter about it." Replied Twilight.

"The one with that Trixie mare?" Asked Velvet.

Twilight nodded.

"If it were up to me I would have banished her to an island in the middle of the ocean for putting Ponyville into a bubble." Said Velvet.

Twilight set her knife down and put the carrot pieces into a pot on the stove.

"Wonder how Shining is doing with the others?" Asked Cadence.

The three unicorn males tossed around a football, catching it with magic and throwing it at the stallion next to them. Spike was lying in a lawn chair, taking a nap.

"So how is prince of the Crystal empire working for you?" Asked Nightlight.

He tossed the ball and Shining caught it.

"Pretty good." Said Shining Armor. "I don't have to wake up at six to train recruits, i have my own personal gym."

Shining tossed the football at Comet Tail, he caught it with magic.

"And I can see Cadence whenever I want."

"Sounds like you have it good." Said Comet Tail.

Comet tail tossed the ball at Nightlight.

"Speaking of lives." Began Nightlight.

Nightlight caught the ball.

"When can I expect to see some grandkids?"

Nightlight tossed the ball.

"Wha......"

Shining armor froze up. He didn't even react to the football bouncing off the side of his head.

"Its a little early for me to be thinking about foals." Said Shining Armor.

"He has a point." Added Comet Tail. "He hasn't even been married a year yet."

Nightlight chuckled.

"You come from a line of early fathers." Said Nightlight. "Your mother was expecting you not even seven months after we got married."

Shining armor decided to change the subject.

"So Comet, how are things with Twilight?"

"Good." Replied Comet Tail. "Were getting along just fine."

"Thats good." Said Shining Armor.

"Finish up out there guys!" Called Velvet. "Dinner is almost ready!"

Spike woke up from his nap.

"Dinner already?"

Spike ran inside.

"Well, better get ready for dinner." Said Nightlight.

The three unicorns stepped inside.

Everypony was sitting at the dinner table, eating and talking.

"Your cooking is great Mrs. Sparkle." Said Comet Tail, levitating a corn cob.

"Cadence was the one who made the corn." Said Velvet. "You should be telling that to her."

"Im flattered." Said Cadence.

"Just remembered something." Said Nightlight. "The benefit is in two days. Do you have proper attire for it?"

Twilight's eyes widened slightly.

"I don't." Said Twilight.

"Me either." Added Comet Tail.

"Your more than welcome to borrow one of my old tuxedos." Said Shining Armor.

"Anything in yellow?" Asked Comet tail.

Shining Armor took a sip of water.

"Maybe, I haven't checked in awhile."

Spike chuckled.

"Good thing I have something lying around here." Said Spike.

"I might have an old dress in the castle you could use Twilight." Said Cadence.

Cadence levitated a fork full of salad salad into her mouth.

"Thanks for the offer." Said Twilight. "But I have something else in mind."

After dinner Comet Tail, Twilight, and Spike went back to the suite.

Comet tail sat on the couch while Twilight wrote a something on a piece of paper.

"So what are you writing?" Asked Comet Tail.

"A letter to Rarity." Said Twilight. "I need her to send something."

"Right." Said Comet Tail. "So whats the plan for tomorrow?"

"Well since we spent time with my parents today that we would do something with yours tomorrow."

"We could go stargazing with them." Said Comet Tail. "We just need to let them know ahead of time."

"Sounds like a plan to me." Said Twilight. "I also ran into Mystic Shine while I went to see Jade, she wanted to know if we were interested in going to their penthouse tomorrow afternoon."

"Sure." Said Comet Tail.

Twilight finished writing the letter and picked it up with magic.

"Im going to see if I can find an express courier to get this out." Said Twilight.

Twilight stepped out of the suite with her letter.

"I should also see Shining Armor's old tuxedos some time tomorrow." Thought Comet Tail.

Comet Tail yawned loudly.

"Guess im more tired......than I .......thou...."

Comet Tail slipped into a deep sleep.
