Chapters Where am I? How did I get here? And why the fuck do I have hooves? Well let's get to the basics, my name is Cam Jones, I'm a 16 year old male from a small town in Montana. And why the fuck am I a pony? Look, I'm not complaining or anything, I've been a Brony for as long as I can remember. I was always watching ponies, and when I wasn't I was reading Fan fictions. But what really concerns me is the Fan Fictions, every one that I read almost always involved the human staying in Equestria. Now I would love it in Equestria, I mean what's not to love! Talking ponies, pure bliss. Now if I was stuck in Equestria forever, what would happen to my friends, my family? There's no way I can stay here! But what else was scaring me was that my friend Shawn was sitting next to me. "Cam, what the fuck is going on, why the fuck are you a pony?" Shawn said frantically. He was a pony too, so I guess we're both in this together.
I took a glance at Shawn, he was an ash grey pony with a red mane, relatively the same size as most of the ponies on the show, from what I could assume from watching the show. It didn't surprise me considering he was an average sized human, so it seems right for him to be an average sized pony. Shawn's cutie mark was a simple three drops of water, he was a great swimmer, so it didn't surprise me. What really surprised me was the wings on his back, or lack of. Shawn seemed to be a regular Earth pony. I, was a sunset orange pony with a blue tail, so I assumed that was the color of my mane too. I was ecstatic. I was a Pegasus! I was probably about the size of Big Macintosh, considering I was about 6 foot 2 on Earth. My cutie mark was a X-box 360 controller with a lightning bolt hitting it. I typically excelled at competitive gaming being the first person to beat Halo 4 on legendary solo out of my friends, so the lightning bolt most likely symbolized speed.
Shawn was looking at me with envy, he obviously wanted to be a Pegasus. "Shawn, your guess to being a pony is as good as mine." I responded to Shawn's earlier question. " But what I can tell you is, i'm sure that you'll never score with Rainbow Dash." I said with a smug smirk, knowing that Shawn never could get a girlfriend back on Earth. "Oh, fuck off." Shawn contorted.
When we stopped pointlessly arguing we deciphered that we were somewhere in Sweet Apple Acres. When I realized that I had my Iphone on me when we were transported here, I decided to check and see if It was still there, sure enough, all the Fan Fictions that I had read were lying. You didn't keep the possessions you had on you when you left. While I was sad, I decided to focus on finding the barn. Unfortuntly, it found us first. In the form of an angry Applejack. Applejack bucked Shawn, hard. "What in Tarnation do y'all think yer doing on mah farm?" Applejack said in her signature southern drawl. " I swear, we're lost, we are trying to find help." I said as I tried to wake up an unconscious Shawn. "oh really, well if yer lost, come with me, i'll take ya back to mah barn." And we set off on a walk to Applejack's barn.
The walk wasn't that long before we arrived. And we were greeted to a Cutie Mark Crusades bombarding us with questions. "Where'd you come from" An overexcited Scootaloo asked. "Why are ya here." AppleBloom asked just excitedly. Sweetie Belle shied away from questions. Applejack sent them away so she could talk to me privately. "Where did y'all come from?" Applejack asked hesitantly. I had too think on the spot, where was a place that both Earth Ponies and Pegasus ponies live? I couldn't say Cloudsdale. Aha, "Manehatten" I smirked at how quickly I thought. " Really, ah used ta live in Manehatten, that is, until ah missed my family so much that ah had to comeback right here to ponyville, ah wish ah could go back one day."
"Manehatten is a beautiful place, I wish I hadn't left when I did." I smiled, thinking back to all the memories back to growing up in New York. I was never a New Your fan though. I was always rooting for the Boston teams. That's probably because I lived in New Hampshire for about 3 years before I moved to New York.
"Well, ah think ah should tell ya my name, it's Applejack. and y'all?" She asked with a genuine smile. Wow I din't think that ponies could be so nice. But here I am, just meeting a pony, and she's already talking like she's a friend. "My name is Cam, and that over there is Shawn." I said pointing to a knocked out body. "Well it's nice ta meet ya, say, what would ya think of meetin ma other friends?" She asked with a anxious voice, obviously hoping I would say yes. "Why I would love to." I smiled thinking of meeting my favorite pony, Fluttershy. "But, first we should probably get him to a hospital." I said, pointing at Shawn. She agreed and we started on a long dirt road out of Sweet Apple Acres, first, to a hospital, then to meet the rest of the Mane 6. On the way there, Applejack told me that the first stop we would be making was to the hospital. That is until we were interrupted by a cyan pony with a rainbow mane. "Hey Applejack, who's your friend?" said a curious Rainbow Dash.
"Hey Applejack, who's your friend?" Asked a curious Rainbow Dash. "why that over there is Cam, and his unconscious friend is Shawn. Ya see, ah kinda overreacted and thought that they were intruders trying to steal ma apples, so I bucked him." Applejack said, referring to what happened earlier at the farm. "Huh, Cam and Shawn, those are some funny names." Rainbow Dash said, I was about to counter, when I realized that ponies don't have names like we do on Earth. "Anyways, my name is Rainbow Dash. Hey, you're a Pegasus. wanna race? you shouldn't because I'm the fastest flyer in all of Equestria. I did a sonic rainboom when I was only a filly." Rainbow Dash continued to rant on, so she didn't notice that Applejack, Shawn, and I had left her about three minutes ago.
We continued on on our journey through Ponyville, passing some familiar sites, such as the shops that Fluttershy went to, in the Iron Will episode and eventually, Sugarcube corner. "Yer lucky that Pinkie Pie is out of town planning for her cousins party in Canterlot, ah hate those fancy snobs. So full of themselves." Applejack stated in a matter of fact tone. I was slightly upset that we wouldn't get to meet Pinkie Pie yet. Considering she was my second favorite pony , but what can you do when you're in a completely different dimension. What really broke my heart is that we wouldn't be able to meet Fluttershy for at least another week. Applejack told me that she was back in Canterlot, helping Celestia with Philomena, she was feeling sick, and Fluttershy, being the only pony she knew that would be able to help. Had to go. We kept walking as we passed some sites that I didn't recognize from the show. But eventually, we ended up at Ponyville hospital
"Why what can we help you with?" Asked Nurse Redheart. "Well we were walking through some fields when my friend here fell and hit his head, and got knocked out. So we came here to see if you could tell us if he has a concussion or something like that." I said trying not to laugh as Applejack blushed, knowing that she was the one who knocked Shawn out. "Oh well, just give us a few minutes, while we give him an x-ray." Nurse Redheart said as she got a wheel-chair to put Shawn in so that they could take him to take an x-ray. Applejack and I just sat there silently for about 10 minutes waiting for news. "Bad news, he has a severe conccusion, he will have to stay here for the next four or five days while we monitor him." Nurse Redheart said with a very misplaced smile for the news that she just gave us. "Well, OK, thanks. I guess we'll leave now, come on AJ." I said as me an AJ left. I made a mental note not to visit Shawn for the duration of time he was here, This was an inside joke we had. This joke existed because one time I had to stay in the hospital for about a week, and he didn't visit once. But that's a story for another day.
"Well Applejack, do you know of anywhere that I could stay? I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. So a place to live would be greatly appreciated." I asked here with some pleading eyes. "Well ah reckon that you could stay with twilight, come on follow me to the library." She said as she started to walk. After a short walk to the library, we got there. I only reckognzized the school house. So I guess there was a lot of stuff they didn't show in the show. They also had the town sorted a lot differently. With the school house being way closer to the library than I remember from the show. "Hey Applejack, who's this?" Spike asked pointing one of his fingers at me. He was a lot bigger than in the show, he was only about three inches shorter than Applejack. "Hi my name is Cam, and you are?" I asked Spike. "My name is Spike!" Spike said proudly. "Twilight, ther's someone here to see you." Spike shouted.
"So, you're from Manehatten, and you need to find a place to live. Well I guess you could stay in one of my spare rooms. Spike, get a spare room ready." Twilight said. Spike finished getting my room ready and Twilight showed me around the library, and before we knew it. It was night. Twilight went to bed and so did I. "I'm going to have a great time here in Ponyville." I said as I drifted to sleep.
"
“Huh, where am I?” I asked as I looked down and noticed I had feet. “Hey I’m back in the human world! i’m a human again.” I smiled knowing that my nice trip to Equestria was over. But frowned, knowing that I would never get to meet Fluttershy. That’s when I noticed it, or rather, me. Walking down through the streets of New York with Shawn. “This must be what happened before we were transported to Equestria. Yeah, it must be, I recognize that shop, that was about five minutes before I blacked out.” I said pointing to a small shop called “ The Lucky Express” I had never shopped there, but Shawn told me it sold just basic toys. I, or me, or he. I don’t know what I should call it. I’ll just say I. I was walking slowly, which surprised me, because at this point, I had challenged Shawn to a race.
It was at this point I realized that I was having a dream. Because time seemed to completely stop. There Shawn and I were, just standing there not moving. At some point I noticed that my Mother had started to fade into vision, then my Dad, then my sister, my friends, my crush. All just fading into frame slowly, one after the other. Then, the dream changed. It showed my family crying. My friends attending a funeral. The one that really hurt me though, was my crush. She was kissing another guy. It was at this point I started crying. “No” I whispered. “No” I said just a bit louder. This pattern kept continuing until I was crying and screaming at the top of my lungs. “NOOOOOOOOOOOO” I shouted.
I woke up in a cold sweat. It was obviously still night, and seemed quite early. I looked at the clock on the wall. “10:45” is what it read. “Wow, I've only been asleep for five minutes.” I mumbled to myself. I kept talking to myself for about five minutes until I heard a voice. “Spike, take a letter.” it was Twilight, our rooms were right next to each others, so I had no problem hearing what she was saying. She was doing it. she was taking a friendship report, right in front of me. Or next to me rather. Not even, there's a wall in between us. But practically together.
“Dear Princess Celestia.
If I recall correctly, you said that if I ever felt romantic feelings towards a pony, that I was to right a friendship report on it. Well I believe that day has finally come. His name is Cam. I don’t know why I like him, it’s strange. I’m not even sure they’re romantic feelings. I mean I've never felt them before. But they’re so strong. He listens to me. He is very knowledgeable. and, how should I put it? Cute, yes that’s it cute. Not to mention funny. Well I guess that’s all.
Your faithful student. Twilight Sparkle.”
I nearly fainted. Twilight has feelings towards me. I went back to sleep. knowing that if she caught me eavesdropping I would have to pay. So I went to lay back down. That is until, I heard the door creak open and a shape in the shape of a unicorn walk in. I faked sleep. She didn't do anything. She just sat down. I squinted my eyes so I could take a look at her without being caught. The lights were still off. But I could recognize a smile on her face as she watched me sleep. It wasn’t creepy, but it wasn't not creepy either. She sat there for about half an hour before she left. When I heard the door shut and hers open. I opened my eyes again. I had a feeling I wouldn't be sleeping tonight. I heard a faint laugh coming from Spike, and Twilight telling him to shut up. I assumed that they then went to sleep.
I couldn't stop tossing and turning all night. I was right, I couldn’t get to sleep. One thought kept popping back into my head. “Would I want this?” It was a right thought to have. I mean Twilight was one thing. But the fact that she was a pony and I’m supposed to be a human was a pretty big deal breaker. I mean, I don’t see anything wrong with dating while i’m a pony. But what if there is a way for Shawn and I to get back to Earth? Then what? If I were to be dating a pony, how would either of us handle getting separated. Because I’m sure that if I started dating Twilight, it would take a long time to figure out a way back. And when I did, we would both be pretty attached at that point.
I kept thinking about the same thing throughout the entire night. So when I smelled the familiar scent of pancakes, I jumped at the chance to get my mind of things. I walked out of my room to the kitchen. “What’s up Spike? Where’s Twilight?” I asked referring to the missing lavender unicorn. “Oh, she’s sleeping, she had a long night.” Spike said obviously trying to suppress a laugh. I myself was trying my hardest not to blush, I held it in and asked, “so what was so long about the night?” Spike looked around nervously. trying to find an excuse not to talk about it. “uh, oh look! The pancakes are done!” Spike said running over to the oven to get the pancakes, narrowly avoiding my question. I decided not to press on and instead noticed the time on the clock. “6:30” “So, Spike, are you always up this early?” Spike nodded. “Yeah, Twilight usually is too, but like I said earlier, she’s asleep.” I nodded. “Yeah, I barely got any sleep last night. Had a horrible nightmare.” I shut my mouth as soon as I said that. What if he asked what the nightmare was about, then what do I do. I can’t tell him the truth just yet. Luckily, he just nodded and continued to get the pancakes ready.
At about seven Spike and I were finished eating, Twilight came down about half an hour later. She ate her breakfast, avoiding any eye contact at all. When she got up she said she needed to go see Applejack about something. But before she could open the door. Spike burped up a letter. Twilight took a look at it and said “Cam, Spike. Get the girls we’re going to Canterlot.” Spike winked at me and I played dumb. But I really knew what was going on. Celestia want’s to meet me.
If Celestia want’s to meet me, I can’t reject Twilights eventual offer of becoming my “Fillyfriend” Twilight went on herself to get Rainbow Dash in the balloon. I went to get Applejack from Sweet Apple acres, and Spike of course, went to get Rarity. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie were both in Canterlot. S we would meet them there, or so I was told by Twilight. As I approached the Marketplace, I saw Spike drooling behind Rarity, coming out of the boutique. Going in the direction of the library. I figured if they were already there, then Twilight would be pretty close to getting Rainbow Dash by now. So I started to pick up the pace to Sweet Apple Acres.
Running on my four legs got me there in no time at all. I didn’t pick up on it at first. But I really don’t feel a difference walking and running on four legs, rather than two legs. I ignored it and trotted to the front door of the Apple family's house. I knocked. The door opened and I saw a red stallion, about the same size as me. “Eeyup.” Big Macintosh said. “Hi, is Applejack here?”
I asked. “Eeyup” he responded while going to get Applejack. “Howdy Sugarcube, what brings ya to Sweet Apple Acres?” Applejack asked, suddenly emerging in the doorway. “Twilight needs you in the library, it’s an emergency.” I said. “ Well let’s get going then” She said as she started running at full speed.
As Applejack ran I decided that it might be in my best interest to try and use my wings that I forgot that I had. I did what most of the FanFictions said to do. I just focused all my energy into my wings, and boom! I was flying. I was keeping pace with Applejack too. So not as fast as Rainbow Dash, but still pretty damn fast! I didn’t expect that at the speed we were going that we would make to the library in ten minutes. When we arrived at the front door, Applejack was panting hard. But I didn’t feel a thing, I was going just as fast as her, and I didn’t even break a sweat. It was like magic! ‘Well obviously it was like magic, it was magic you idiot.’ thought in my head. When we walked through the door, I was given a weird look by Rarity. “Oh that’s right, I haven’t met Rarity, I guess I should introduce myself.” I thought. “Hi, I’m Cam. And you?” I asked. Rarity took a quick glance over me and stopped to stare at my mane. “My name is Rarity, and may I say I love your mane.” Rarity stated. “Please don’t touch it. My friend Shawn, he’s in the hospital, touches my mane all the time it annoys me quite a bit” I said in a joking tone. The rest of the mane six, or what was there, laughed with me. Applejack took a turn to explain why Shawn was in the hospital, she looked puzzled for a quick second. But the look quickly turned into laughter.
The laughter was stopped when Twilight told me to go to my room so she could talk about the meeting with the Princess. I obliged and trotted upstairs to my room. When got up there I sat on my bed and figured out that Twilight was going to tell them about her crush on me. I also figured that they would try anything they could do to get her closer to me. When I figured this out I had nothing else to do. So I just sat on my bed until I heard Twilight call me down. When I got downstairs, I noticed that the elements of harmony were staring at me with goofy grins. I decided to play dumb and ask “What’s with the grins?” Rarity was the first one to answer. “Oh nothing darling, just something Twilight told us of an embarrassing story of the Princess.” I pretended to believe it and we headed out to the train station.
After we passed the school house we noticed the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I decided that there was someone here that needed to let Shawn know what was going on and why None of the mane six, or me were there. “Hey, Applebloom. Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo!” I yelled at them. They turned to face me and their face brightened a little when they noticed that it was me. “Guy’s, do you remember my knocked out friend Shawn? Well, we are going on a week long trip to Canterlot, and we need someone to inform him of what’s going on. So I would really appreciate it if you guy’s could look after him. He’s supposed to wake up within the next hour or so” I told them and asked them at the same time. “A cutie mark in helping sick people, we’re in.” an over excited Scootaloo shouted as they ran off to the hospital. Man I really hope Shawn is up for a challenge, handling those Fillies.
We continued on the path to the Train station, apparently, Celestia had sent a train immediately after Twilight sent her the “friendship report” So when we got there, we were surprised that there wasn’t a train already there. So we decided to do what any rational pony would do, complain! “Come on, we walked all the way here for no train!” Rarity exclaimed. “ I ;love the princess and all, but she couldn't have sent a train a little earlier.” Said a groggy Rainbow Dash, Twilight had obviously woken her from a nap. Just as I was about to say something the train pulled in. “All aboard!” the conductor shouted. We were about to hop on when I stopped. They four ponies weren't following behind me. They were in a huddle, like they were formulating a plan. I shrugged it off and walked onto the train. about two minutes later the four Ponies followed. We sat in a cart that had one side that could fit two ponies, and one side that could fit three ponies. Rainbow Dash came in first she sat across from me. Rarity followed suit. She sat next to Rainbow Dash. Then followed Applejack. She sat right next to Rarity. Wait, one, two, three that’s three on that side, and we’re missing a pony. Suddenly a lavender unicorn walked in and looked. She got an angry expression on her face as she looked at the trio of ponies across from me. Whatever game plan they had. this was not it. She sat next to me. Still with a steaming look on her face. But now her face wasn’t just angry, it was redder than a beat. The trio across from me just had innocent looks on their faces and shrugged. This was going to be a long train ride.
“Man my head hurts” I thought to myself as I awoke. I had the weirdest dream. I was sitting under a tree, looking dead, being poked with a long stick by Spike. What happened anyways? That’s right, Cam and I woke up in Equestria, We took a walk, and I got Bucked by Applejack and that’s all I remember. My head hurt, and I had this weird feeling in my gut. I decided to open my eyes
“Ahhhhhhh” I screamed as I saw Applebloom sitting there with a large stick, poking me, with a bored expression on her face. “Ahhhhh” She screamed as well, flailing her hooves and poking me in the eye with the stick. “You’re awake!” Applebloom said after she stopped screaming. I was very curious as to why the doctors weren't coming in at this moment in time. They probably knew the Cutie Mark Crusaders, so they didn't question it. “Why does my head hurt so much?” I asked, rubbing my temple. “When Applejack bucked you, you got a bad concussion. You’re lucky that Applejack and that Cam guy helped you get to the hospital. Cam asked us to watch you while He, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Twilight, and Spike went to Canterlot to meet the Princess. We’re gonna get our Cutie Marks by helping out an injured pony!” Replied an ecstatic Sweetie Belle. Well that explains why i’ m in the hospital. But howcome Cam get’s to meet the mane 6 and the Princess, that’s so not fair. He shouldn't have any special treatment because he’s bigger than me, or more athletic than me. I matter just as much as he does. Wait, Applejack bucked me, not him. That must mean Applejack saw me as more of a threat than she saw Cam as. She found more important at least. “Hey girl’s? Could you leave and just give like ten minutes to gather my thoughts?” I asked. “Fine” replied Scootaloo, as they exited the room.
So we really did get transported to Equestria then. Well I guess we could make the most out of it. Hey, I could meet my favorite pony Rainbow Dash, but Cam’s already met her. He’s probably already met Fluttershy too. Damn him, it’s no fair. I wanted to meet the ponies just as much as he does. I never was one to have good luck. Now was the worst luck of all though. First I get knocked out by my least favorite pony. Then, Cam meets my favorite pony before I do. Not to mention I’m a stupid Earth pony. It’s not Goddamn fair.
Ok I might be complaining a little much here but still. It really isn’t fair. Well at least I’ll get time to bond with the Cutie mark Crusaders! Cam hasn't gotten do that yet has he? I bet he hasn’t. He’s only been here a day at the most. “Hey girl’s, you can come in now.” I yelled out of the room. They came bouncing in one after the other. “What do ya need mister Shawn?” Applebloom asked. “Nothing, I just wanted to say thanks. What are your names again?” I asked, knowing perfectly well what their names were. But I couldn't let them know. “Well I’m Scootaloo, that's Applebloom, and that's Sweetie Belle.” Scootaloo replied. “How long do I have to stay in the hospital?” I asked. “About three more days.” Applebloom replied. I sighed. This was going to be a long week.
This train ride was the worst one of my life. While the trio of ponies across from me were talking. Twilight was completely silent I had nothing to talk about so I was too. The difference between me and Twilight was that my face wasn't beet red. Rainbow Dash kept taking quick glances at us to see if we were talking or even making eye contact, we weren't. I was about to say something when the train stopped. “We’re here!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed as we got our stuff to get of the train. I was the last one to leave the train.
When we got off the train some of the royal guards were waiting for us. They were white stallions with blue manes. “Miss Twilight Sparkle. We have some of your friends waiting for you at Canterlot castle. Come, follow us.” We complied and followed them through Canterlot. The city was much more regal than I expected. With beautiful designs on the stone tiles. The stores had very Roman reminiscent architecture, a lot of pillars throughout all of Canterlot. Before I knew it we were at Canterlot castle. What I saw nearly made my scream out with joy. Standing there right outside the castle were my two favorite ponies. Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie. Rainbow Dash ran up to them and gave them a hug. They obviously hadn’t noticed me yet. Fluttershy looked over at Rainbow Dash and whispered pointing at me. At the same time Pinkie Pie looked over at me, and noticed that I never met her before. “ Are you new? Please tell me you’re new. If you are I can throw you a party.” Pinkie Pie asked me excitedly. “Uh yeah, I’m new, and you are?” I asked. Knowing full well who she was. “I’m Pinkie Pie, what’s your name?” She asked. “I’m Cam nice to meet you.” I was about to introduce myself to Fluttershy. Until we interrupted by the Royal Guards telling us to keep moving. I stayed a little bit behind the group. Thinking about I would introduce myself to Fluttershy.
I barely noticed it when Princess Celestia walked up to us. She looked at me and then to Twilight. Twilight nodded. “Well Twilight, as you know. Your brother has left the captain position of this royal guard open after marrying Princess Cadence, to become her Royal Guard captain. So I’d like you to meet the new captain of the Royal Guard. Lancer. I took a look at him. He was basically an inverse of me. With a night blue body and an orange mane. I stopped looking over him when he spoke. “Hello” He said. It was a deep voice, it sounded very familiar. “Uhmm, Princess, if I may. May I speak to your captain of the royal guard in privacy?” She nodded and sent us of to a different room. “Thank you Princess.” I said. I followed him to a new room. HE gave me a look that said. What do you want? I looked over him one more time and said “Camm?” and looked surprised and squinted at me. “Cam?” He asked with a surprised look on his face.
I was surprised to say the least. I would have never caught him if it wasn’t for his voice. I felt my heart racing out if my chest in anger and excitement. I found Camm, after being missing for 3 years, but what the hell was he doing in Equestria? And on the Royal Guard no less! Camm went missing about a week after he told me he was a brony. He was the First brony besides me, that I knew. He was one even before Shawn. So when he went missing I was devastated. I lost one of my best friends, and my only brony friend.
But here he was, standing right infront of me. Living and Breathing, in a different body, mind that. But still living. I had so many questions to ask him, how the hell did he get here? Can he help us find a way to go back? How is he the head of Celestia's royal guard? Did he have a fillyfriend? I decided to ask the most basic one.
“What the fuck man? You’ve been missing for three years!” I shouted.
“What? Three years, I just landed in front of Celestia’s castle about a year ago. She asked if I needed something, and I said I wanted to train for a spot on the royal guard. I went through six months of training. And here I am now” Camm said, surprised at the time difference.
“Interesting, it looks like there is quite a time difference between Earth and Equestria. It looks like about seventeen weeks in Equestria is about a year on Earth.” I said with my most sophisticated voice.
“Still a motherbucking nerd.” Camm mumbled.
“Excuse me, did you just say ‘bucking’?” I asked
“Yes I did, sorry. ‘Fuck’ isn’t really used in Equestria. It’s very frowned upon.” Camm replied
“Really?” I asked. “That for some reason that surprises me. Is there anything else that I should know that would be weird not to know?” I asked again.
“Not really. Just only use the swears that you would heat in FanFics, and not the ones on Earth. Those will get you beaten or worse.” Camm said with a serious look on his face.
I was about to ask what he meant by worse. Until we were interrupted by a voice of a lavender unicorn that goes by the name of Twilight Sparkle.
“Are you guys okay in there?” She asked. I was a little surprised that Celestia sent Twilight to get us, and not just another guard, but I can see why.
“Yeah Twilight, we were just on our way out.” I said, as I looked at Camm and gestured for him to follow.
As we walked out of the room I saw that Twilight had already gotten a head start. I, again, understood why. I thought of an excuse to tell Celestia why we were in there for so long. I had decided to tell her the truth, but not the whole truth. I would tell her that I was Camm’s old friend, but I would not tell her from where.
By the time Camm and I entered the room, Twilight was already there talking to Celestia, and when we entered, everypony looked at us, like they were expecting something. I figured they wanted to know why were gone for so long. But as soon as I was about to open my mouth and speak, Celestia asked us
“So, Lancer, Cam, where were you all this time? It’s been almost half an hour.” Celestia asked.
“Well you see, princess. Ca- I mean Lancer is one of my old friends. I hadn’t seen him for such a long time. I was very excited to see him again. I decided that everypony here wouldn't want to hear us catch up. I figured that you guys had your own affairs to attend to.” I retorted, realizing that my cover up was much better than I expected.
“Very well, I have arranged for you all to stay in Canterlot for the next week. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough room for all of you to have their own rooms.” Celestia stated. I had thoughts racing through my head. She was going to put me with Twilight wasn’t she. She would just try to make things more awkward. My thoughts kept racing until Celestia spoke. My ears perked up.
“Here are the pairings. Rainbow Dash, you will be staying with Applejack, Twilight, Spike, you will be staying with Fluttershy.” Celestia said. I got excited, but I didn’t let it show. Celestia must have been reading my mind. Twilight looked excited too. “Rarity” Celestia continued, “You have made arrangements to stay with you cousin not to far from here, Correct?” Celestia asked.
“Yes, Princess” Rarity responded.
“Very well, well Pinkie Pie, that only leaves one person for you to stay with. That would be Cam.” I got a little excited.
“Really? I get to make a new friend, and we can play games. Wait! I know we can throw him a party. It will be so fun I can invite all of the castle, it will be the best welcoming party ever!” Pinkie Pie said excitedly. But a party sounded nice after all that I’ve been through today.
“Very well Pinkie Pie, we can throw Cam a party. It will be nice to have something relaxing to do, instead if paperwork.” Celestia said approvingly.
“You know?” I asked. “A party sounds awesome! Pinkie, I’m putting a lot of trust into you with this.” I said jokingly,
“Oh don’t worry Cam, I'm the best party planner in all of Equestria, just ask all of the people here.” She said confidently. Not surprisingly, everypony, including the Princess, nodded.
“Well then Pinkie, it looks like we have a party to plan, let’s get to it!” I nearly shouted. Everyone laughed.
The rest of the day was filled with party planning. We decided to invite everyone, including Princess Luna and Celestia, in the castle. We planned on games such as pin the tail on the pony, and apple bobbing. The party would take place at around eight tonight, and probably go on until past midnight. We even got it worked out with Celestia to get Vinyl Scratch to play. Or should I call her by her stage name DJ-PON3. Either way, Pinkie was right. This is going to be the best party ever!
So here I was, sitting here in a room, with three eager fillies staring at me. Three more days, then I can get out of this damned bed. With Cam in Canterlot, I don’t know anypony.
“Girls? Can you please stop staring at me like that. It kind of creeps me out.” I said. The fillies faces dropped.
“Sorry mister Shaw-” Sweetie Belle started
“Just Shawn, please. I don’t like being called mister.” I cut her off.
“Alright sorry, ‘SHAWN’. But it’s really boring in here, there's nothing to do, and none of us got our cutie marks from watching you” Sweetie Belle replied.
“So then leave, I won’t be mad or anything.” I responded.
“Really, All right.” Scootaloo exclaimed running out of the room. The others following her quickly.
Wow, I thought they would be a little more hesitant. Alright. I guess if I have to be in bed for three more days. I might as well catch up on my sleep.
“Pinkie, can we start now? We’ve been sitting in the same place for like two hours.” I said to Pinkie Pie.
“NO! We have to wait for the time on the invitation. The time says nine o’clock, and it’s not nine o’clock yet.” She yelled
“But Pinkie, it’s 9:59, and we have everypony at the door. They all want in. Just let them in.” As soon as I said that, I heard a faint voice of Rainbow Dash.
“Pinkie, can we come in yet.” There was a chorus of agreements outside.
“Just 10.9.8.7.6.5.4.3.2.NOW!” As soon as she said it, the door somehow unlocked. Man Pinkie Pie’s ability to break the fourth wall was even real in the actual universe.
At first, Pinkie and I were the only ones in the room. We were the only ones in the room because we were the ones planning the party. But when Pinkie opened those doors. I couldn't even feel my body.
“OW.” I simply said after everypony got done walking over me. I had trouble getting up, so I decided to just lie there for a little bit, or at least until I regained control of my legs.
“Ouch, that must of hurt.” I looked up to see Rainbow Dash. “Are you gonna get up?” She asked.
“This may sound stupid... But I kinda can’t.” She looked at me and laughed.
“You can’t...Get...Up...Oh Celestia that is hilarious, here let me help you.” She said, as she tried to recover. She reached out for my hoof and I obliged.
“So, what's up, why are you over here?” I asked.
“Whoa, You don’t need to get so defensive.” She started, I was about to interrupt but she finished her sentence before. “Don’t worry, I was just joking. I actually came over here to ask you about romantic advice.” She finished
“Really? Why me? Oh, I get it. You've fallen for me.” I said raising my eyebrows.
“Don’t get your hopes up. I came here because there is a Stallion back in Ponyville that I like, and you’re the only guy that’s remotely a friend.” She countered.
“Really, who is it?” I asked excitedly.
“He’s an Earth Pony, and that’s the most you’re gonna get outta me.” She said.
“So you won’t tell me a name?” I asked sadly.
“Nope.” She responded. “I just need some advice.”
“I guess that you should really just be yourself. I mean, if he’s gonna like you, he should like you for you, not someone you’re pretending to be.” I said.
“Really? That’s it? Thanks?” She said as she flew off as fast as she could.
I guess she really didn't want to be around me. It didn't really bother me. I was still in a lot of pain from the trampling I got. So I walked around a bit to shake it off. I then noticed that there was a bar, which Spike was at. I walked over and sat down.
“How’s it going Spike?” I asked. Spike jumped.
“Cam? Please don’t tell Twilight that I’m here. She would scold me so much for it. She hates when I drink. Especially since I'm technically underage. But there are no dragon drinking laws. You know, a lot of ponies don’t know tha-” Spike was cut off.
“Spike! Shut Up! If I buy you a drink, will you shut up?” I asked a little irritated.
“Sure, get me a hard apple cider.” He said. The bartender walked over.
“What’ll you have?” He said in a gruff voice.
“Two hard apple ciders please.” I said.
“Alright.” He said as he grabbed to wooden cups and filled them up with cider. He handed them to us and walked away to serve another person.
“Spike, I bought you that drink,and I don’t want you annoying me while drinking it. Which means, that there is to be no rambling, and no yelling in my ear.” Spike just nodded.
When I finished my drink, I got up and turned to Spike.
“I’m gonna head over there now. Talk to you later.” he just nodded again, while calling over the bartender.
That’s a weird dragon over there. I kept walking, until I was over in a corner just sitting down. Hoping not to be bothered by anypony. I love it here, But I still want to know how I got here. Why was I here. Would I be able to go back to my time frame. Camm has been missing for three years, and it has only been a year here. It could just be more beneficial to stay here.
Speaking of Camm. I saw him over by Luna, they were talking. It actually looked like Luna was blushing a bit. So was Camm. I figured out that either they’re both too oblivious to notice that they like each other. Or that they are already in a relationship. That would be pretty cool, Camm dating a freaking Princess.
Then I noticed Twilight, she was alone too. I walked over.
“Hey Twilight!” I said.
“Oh, hi Cam. How’s your evening going?” She asked. a little embarrassed that I was standing with her.
“Not too bad, yourself?” I asked.
“Pretty good. The music is really cool.” She said, referring to Vinyl Scratch.
“Speaking of music, would you like to dance?” I asked. She blushed and smiled
“I would love to dance.” She replied.
I took her hoof and led her to the dance floor. That’s when I noticed that the others were staring at us. This could be quite the night.
Ever had one of those “Why the hell did I do that?’ moments? Well, then you know the situation i’m in. I asked her to dance because I thought that it would be a nice thing to make her happy. But now I have five ponies and a Princess staring at me. Twilight noticed it too, because she was blushing deeply.
I had to think of a distraction, something to get everypony to stop looking at us. Or, to get Twilight to have to leave suddenly. What to do? I could say that I broke my hoof, but that would cause too much drama that isn’t needed. Then It it hit me.
“Hey, Twilight, I’m not sure if this is a problem, but I saw Spike over at the bar drinking.” I said, knowing I had an ingenious plan.
“What?” She shouted. “Why that little, I told him not to drink!” She yelled galloping off.
I would have to think of a reason to let Spike know why I ratted him out like that. But that can wait a little while. What I have to think of is how to get out of here without attracting too much attention.
“Man that was close!” I said as i made it out of the door as Applejack turned around.
“What was close?” a bright pink pony cheerfully asked.
“Oh, uh, nothing Pinkie Pie, just uh, I, Have to go to the bathroom!” I lied.
“But there’s a bathroom in there. Why did you come all the way out here, silly?” She curiously asked.
“I, uh, like this bathroom better?” I half said, half asked.
“Oh, Okay!” She said as she skipped away.
Man, that was a close one, if it weren't for my lighting fast thinking I would have been caught red-handed, or red-hoofed, rather. Now all I have to do is casually walk through the hallway and make it to the door.
“Stampede!” Applejack exclaimed as a herd of ponies ran through the door.
“Aww what the fu-” I was cut off by a bunch of ponies running me over.
They always seem to come at the worst possible times. It’s like they wait for the times when I’m about to do something important. Speaking of something important, I need to get to that door before anyone notices me.
I wonder if they noticed that I was gone. Pinkie probably told them about my bathroom incident, they might think that I’m still in the bathroom. But I highly doubt that, I’ve been gone for almost two hours. Speaking of two hours, the party should be ending any minute now.But, I'm tired and I’m going to bed.
Twilight’s POV
I wonder where Cam went. he told me about Spike, and when I came back he was gone. He probably thought that I was a bad dancer and went back to his room. He won’t ever want to see my face again, he’ll hate me forever, and we’ll never get to go on the perfect date that I really wanted.
No! Snap out of it Twilight, he probably just got bored of the party and left. Maybe I should check his room, the party is almost over. I’m sure that Pinkie Pie won’t mind .
“Hey!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed. “Where do you think that you’re going, are you trying to leave one of my parties early. You know that’s against the Pinkie Pie party rule book!”
She was right, it was rule number 563 in the party rule book.
“You’re right Pinkie, I’m sorry-”I started but was interrupted by a giant ring. Pinkie Pie turned around to stare at a giant clock.
“Hey!” She exclaimed “ The part’s over, everyone needs to leave now! It’s in the rule book that I handed out.
Everypony nodded and started to head to the exit. The last one to leave was obviously Pinkie Pie, but that didn’t matter. Because I was already into a run to go to Cams room.
Cam’s Pov
“Who are you?” I asked a dark figure. It was at least ten feet tall. he looked like a human. So I guess that’s what is was, unless it was casting some sort of spell.
“I’m am your worst nightmare, your eternal fear, the thing that will drive you so insane that you will be to the brink of death!” It exclaimed. It was definitely a male, he had a deep gruff voice
“The Harlem Shake on repeat” I asked with a smirk on my face, knowing that it would get under his skin.
“What no, what are you talking about? I am no pop culture song.” I said, with a tint of frustration in its voice.
“Then what are you? Are you really that scary, that you will kill me?” I asked sarcastically.
“I am-” It got interrupted by me waking up.
“What time is it?” I asked out loud.
“It’s twelve o’clock, why.” Pinkie Pie answered my question.
“Twelve! i’ve been asleep for that long. Did I miss anything. Did anything important happen?” I asked worriedly.
“No, not really, Twilight showed up wondering where you were, but that was about it.” She responded.
That figures, I thought. It isn’t that I don’t like her, it’s that it’s kinda creepy how she’s almost stalking me. I asked her to dance to be nice. I hope she didn’t think anything more of it.
“Oh, thank Celestia!” I exclaimed.
“speaking of Celestia!” She started. “She has requested a private meeting with you, and the Elements of Harmony.” She finished as cheerily as ever.
What? Why does she want a meeting specifically involving me. What did I do to deserve this. What does she want from me. Why does she want it. Why should I give it to her.
“Pinkie Pie?” I started as cheerily as I could. “When is this meeting supposed to be? in a day, week, month, year, years? Please tell me it’s at least a week away. I need time to prepare. I need to get ready.” I said as desperately as possible.
“In an hour!” She said cheerily.
