Chapter 11 - The Mission

'Alduin can go to Svongarde for all I care!' I thought angrily, I had recently flown off from the Dovahkiin's abode to complete his request, hell he even thought I was a male! I pumped my wings and gave a shrill cry out of pure spite. I loved the feel of the wind in my muzzle, how it washed over me felt incredible, with renewed vigor my wings flapped even harder. I rose to an altitude that made it nigh impossible to breathe. I tucked in my reptilian body and shot towards the unforgiving bone-break-earth. I leveled out mere meters before hitting the ground traveling at speeds that should have been impossible for such a large creature. With this new found speed I slowly rose up to avoid hitting trees.
All anger forgotten as I sped toward the beacon that I recognized as Alduin, this was a dangerous mission after all. My muzzle gaped open as I swallowed a flock of pigeons that were lifting off from a nearby Pine tree. One of them got caught in a nook between my teeth and I munched on it happily enjoying the taste of chicken that pervaded my senses. I looked up into the sky to see it had very nearly turned night. I landed in a small clearing, oblivious to the locals in the surrounding area. I coiled my body not unlike a serpent and slept soundly, giving the occasional snore.
*******************************
I snuck out of the large tree walking on tip toe to avoid waking up Jiques or Twilight. When I reached the front door I realized it was locked, I picked the lock, being careful not to break the lock or the pick. My hands worked in a flurry of motion, unlocking the door in one go. I took a tentative into the cool night air, no one seemed to be about. I closed the door gently, and walked off into the ultramarine violet colored darkness. My body blended into the dark like I was a spectral being, I looked overhead to see a cluster of stars, and a alabaster moon. The moon I stared at looked a lot like my world's moon Secunda, I felt home sickness build in me, I looked around the night for a possible red moon, Masser.
I felt a tear roll down my cheek, why did I have to come here? What is the purpose? I may never return to Skyrim, atleast I have Jiques, but I may never see my dear Shahvee again. Soon the tears started flowing freely, I couldn't contain them any longer a weight began to make itself present as memories of a happy life with my wife began flooding me as I realized I may never see her again...
******************************
I watched as Narsis left the building, I turned around and stared out my window, at first my eyes couldn't detect him but then I saw a glimmer of movement in the corner of my eye. I could see Narsis looking up into the sky, his eyes brimming with tears. My eyes widened as I saw him crying for the first time since I ever met him, he always had a strong demeanor, never seemed to falter (except when around dragons) and would always be there for a friend...
******************************
My eyes flashed open, the alarm had sounded a mental trigger in my mind instantly waking me. But instead of going in the presence was going out. My magic had said that Jiques was still in his room, but Narsis wasn't in the Library, which only meant one thing. I quickly got out of bed careful not to wake Spike, I trotted down the stairs and detected Narsis, he was out in the field near my house, but, he was crying? His aura started coming closer to the house and I silently trotted back into bed...
********************************
I yawned scaring the local birds, my eyes lazily drifted around taking in my surroundings, I got up and stretched not unlike a cat which caused me to yawn again. I flapped my wings a bit trying to get blood into them, my feet stamped in their regular morning routine, I looked up into the sky to see I woke up right when I wanted to, just at the crack of dawn. A thought pervaded my mind and I quickly brushed it away but it came back in full force causing me laugh scaring the birds away again. I chuckled, "The buttcrack of dawn." I pumped my wings gaining altitude, I tilted my body forward causing me to fly forward instead of just hovering.
I flapped my wings until I was going at a steady velocity and began taking note of the direction I was traveling in, I was going at what I thought was East if the city-in-the-mountain was North. Wishing to speed up the journey I traveled higher than I ever did before, straining my lungs and causing me great pain in my chest but it payed off as I traveled possibly faster than any other dragon in existence. I tucked in my wings and flew over the landscape like a torpedo, rippling trees in what resembled waves. I gave a cry of joy as wind whistled in my ears, the ground rushing by, DAMN it felt good to be a dragon!
I looked down to see a group of traveling ponies, it only lasted a second though as I blasted past. I let me wings came out and started flapping causing me to speed up. I felt a pressure building in on my ears, a loud pop could be heard as I broke the sound barrier for the first time in my life. What I was not expecting was the great flash of electric turquoise light that flashed behind me. I gasped in shock at what I had accomplished what most dragons would wish they could do, I broke the sound barrier! I gave a cry louder than the rest only to have my voice stripped away.
I grinned and sped onward toward my destination, Alduin...
*********************************
I awoke to a very quiet morning, Narsis eyes had a purple tinge to them that represented he really was crying last night and it wasn't some awkward dream. I gave him a reassuring grin, he only thing he did was look down at the bowl of oats he was munching on. Twilight was sitting at the table, Spike with them both, we all said our greetings except for Narsis who kept on gazing into his half eaten bowl of food.
I pulled out a cooked piece of cold chicken, I chewed on it thoughtfully while Twilight gave me very disapproving stares, Spike however didn't seem to mind, he was after all a dragon. I took a look at the alchemy table before deciding against making a truth potion, if Narsis wanted to tell me something he would already done it. "Well, I'ma go for a walk, see you guys later." and with that I walked out the door. My destination the Everfree forest, two reasons why, one is because nopony goes there, and two, because I really needed time to think.
My footsteps crunched on the frozen ground, I had barely noticed the change in climate as it was beginning to turn from Summer to Fall, I really needed to ask what they called the seasons. I kept on walking until my form was hidden by the holly green foliage. I kicked a pebble as I walked down the dirt path that led into the deadly forest. My feet seemed to have a mind of their own as I was dragged further and further into the imposing forest, but that didn't worry me any. My mind thought about Skyrim, they soon turned to the Nightingales and Karliah, I remember when Brynjolf and I agreed to become Nightingales to kill Mercer Frey.
I chuckled at the bittersweet memory. I kept on walking despite the cold. My legs soon stopped and I my eyes tore away from the ground, I felt a disturbance in the ground, like something powerful was nearby. My eyes searched frantically trying to find it, I soon found a tree from which a blue hue was shown from it. I read the word 'Diiv' I thought for a second, that meant wyrm? Until it hit me, 'Mul, Qah, Diiv!' the Dragon Aspect shout! I finally have all the words of power! I used the remaining knowledge from the dragon I slain a few days ago to understand the meaning of the word.
I felt power course through me as I learned the very power of this word. I took a light jog back to the house to find Twilight and Narsis to tell them the great news! But then a thought hit me, who would know how to read, better yet write in dragon?
**************************************
I kept on flying at the same sound breaking flight, after an hour I began to grow tired, I traveled so far! and so fast! I slowed down to a stop, and hovered fatigue burning in my wings, I looked around to see the otherland's plants mixed with Skyrim's. I alighted on top of a few trees and thought of something as a cloud passed by, I spread my wings and flew up, I landed on top of the cloud and gave my trademark cry. It actually worked! In Skyrim you couldn't rest on clouds, apparently in this world you could! I lay down upon the soft surface, it felt like silk, kind of damp but humid which felt amazing against my tired wings. Very soon I found myself in a deep slumber...
