Chapters Twilight Sparkle was reorganizing her shelves when a lot of knocking came at her door and she opened it and Rainbow Dash barged in.
"Rainbow Dash what is it?"
"Read this." Dash said throwing the newspaper at her.
After reading it the lavender unicorn was both confused and surprised.
"A grave robbery? Noponies' attempted a grave robbery before and they stole the bodies of the King and Queen? That's crossing a very serious line." She said.
"That's what I said. But Princess Celestia and Luna are out in a meeting in Saddle Arabia again. So we can't ask for their help. I say we do a stakeout at the graveyard and catch this graverobber." Dash said.
"I was gonna say that." The lavender unicorn said.
"Great minds think alike I guess." The blue pegasus said.
Night-time fell and the two were in the graveyard hiding in a bush.
"Alright Dash. If we're gonna catch this graverobber we need to be subtle and most importantly don't fall asleep." Twilight said. She turned and saw that Dash had fallen asleep so she conjured a water spell and woke her up.
"Were you even listening?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah but I got bored after you said subtle and took a nap." Dash said.
Twilight facehoofed herself and then heard the gate open up and they got into a hiding position and saw a silhouetted figure walk in with a shovel. It stood on its fore hooves like an ape. It then approached a grave and and started driving the shovel into the grave. Then a clanking sound was heard and the figure picked up the coffin and then started dragging it out of the graveyard.
"That must be our graverobber." Twilight whispered.
"Operation: Pummel the Robber!!" Dash shouted and took off towards the figure.
"Dash wait!" The lavender unicorn said but it was too late Dash was already ready to buck the figure. Unfortunately for her the figure knocked her out cold with the shovel and then made a run for it.
"Dash! I gotta get you back to the library." Twilight said and then performed a teleport spell and then both of them disappeared.
Rainbow Dash was unconscious for two weeks, the shovel was pretty hard with steel. When she finally awoke she found herself in Twilight's place and she was watching over her.
"Finally your awake Dash." She said.
"What the hay just happened?" Dash asked.
"We were having a stakeout and the graverobber knocked you out cold with a shovel. You've been out for two weeks." Twilight explained.
"Two weeks?! I've missed a whole bundle of work and stunts!!" Dash said shocked.
"Take it easy. Somepony filled in for you. And better the mysterious graverobber seems to have been disappeared. Ponies are suspecting he was captured or died." The lavender unicorn explained.
"Good for that hay-bag." The blue pegasus said grimly.
"Oh... I almost forgot there's somepony else for you to see. While you were out cold I seemed to have gotten a roomate." Twilight said.
Then on cue Herbert West came out of the shadows and said,
"Greetings. My name is Herbert West. And you must be Miss Sparkle's friend Rainbow Dash am I correct?"
"Yes that would be right. But what the hay are you supposed to be?" Dash asked.
"I'm a human being. We happen to be very smart and advanced in technology and I happen to be a doctor." West answered.
"He already told me how he got here and what he does for a living. He's going to be staying here for the time that he's here in Equestria and he's using the basement laboratory for his research." Twilight said,
"And considering you still have a huge headache and apparently that shovel that hit you left your wings in a bad condition you're gonna have to stay here and rest for a couple days or more. I already wrapped up your wings in bandages."
"Say how did she get so badly hurt?" West asked.
"She and I were doing a stakeout to catch a graverobber and she took quite a blow due to a shovel." The lavender unicorn explained to the re-animator.
"Oh... That must of hurt real bad." West lied.
"Tomorrow I'm gonna show him to our friends." Twilight said.
"That would be splendid." The re-animator said.
Late that night Twilight and Dash were asleep in bed but in the basement West was busy working on his newly fixed re-agent formula and then went out to the graveyard to get another specimen. He then begun digging into a grave and opened up the coffin and surprisingly again the body was in good shape as well. He then placed the body in a burlap sack and then covered up the grave to avoid anyone noticing. When he arrived back at Twilight's place he went into the basement and placed the body on the table. He then took out his syringe with his re-agent formula and injected it into the pony. After 10 seconds passed the unicorn opened it's eyes.
"What the? What happened? Who are you?" It asked.
"Herbert West. Welcome back to the land of the living. You've been asleep for quite some time. Now return to where you live and have a lovely life." Herbert said. Then the pony used it's magic to teleport out of the basement and West with a smile on his face said,
"Another life saved."
Twilight was mending Dash's wounds while Herbert was downstairs working on his Re-Agent formula. Suddenly a knock came at the door and Twilight opened it and saw a newspaper at the mat and lifted it with her magic and it said that ponies that were supposed to be dead were seen all over Ponyville. And the most recent sighting was of the King and Queen in Canterlot.
"Hey Dash take a look at this." Twilight said and threw the newspaper to her. After reading it the blue pegasus was as surprised as the lavender unicorn.
"How can ponies reported dead suddenly come back to life? It's scientifically impossible." Dash said.
"I concur. There's no way something like this can be possible." Twilight said.
Suddenly Herbert came upstairs and asked,
"What's all the ruckus?"
"Look at this." Twilight said.
After handing Herbert the newspaper he suddenly had a grin on his face.
'It appears my Re-Agent formula is success.' He thought to himself,
"This is confusing to me as well."
"How do you think something like this is possible?" Dash asked.
Suddenly a knock came at the door and Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity were at the door.
"Twilight, darling something strange is going on. I could have sworn I saw the deceased Leonarda Lombardi, the famous fashion maker." Rarity said.
"And Ah could have sworn I saw my deceased Aunt Apple Pie." Applejack said.
"And I thought I saw the dead Darlington Flasher, the party starter. Must of been seeing things." Pinkie Pie said.
"Oh... and... um... I thought I saw the deceased pet caretaker Angelina Fairwood." Fluttershy said.
With each of their stories the wider the grin on Herbert West's face grew.
"Do excuse me. I have to work on more research." He said.
He then entered the basement and chuckled evilly to himself.
That night Twilight was getting antsy. She wanted know what West was working on. So she let herself into the basement and then saw a green glow from another room. She opened it and saw some potions with a green fluid in it. And saw a dead body on the table. She then was freaking out and backing towards the door and suddenly a blow went to her head and she passed out.
Twilight awoke with a startle and found herself strapped to a table and West with an evil smirk on his face.
"Good to see your awake at last." He said.
"Herbert. What's the meaning of this?" Twilight said.
"Heh. Have you been wondering how these dead ponies have shown up alive? It's because of this... My Re-Agent formula. It brings the dead back to life." The reanimator said.
"What?! That's not right. It's not right to mess with the cycle of life and death." The lavender unicorn said.
"That's what they all said. They couldn't understand the true meaning of this. With this I'll be able to give the dead a second chance at life. But then I got to thinking about the rulers. They might be immortal but they can get sick. So I'm going to inject the princesses with this formula. It will inject them with a disease that will break down every living organ in them and give them death." West said insanely.
"You... You're mad!!!" Twilight shouted.
"Thank you. Then I will inject them with a formula that will bring them back to life but they will be under my control." The reanimator said.
"You can't do this. My friends will stop you and so will I." The lavender unicorn said.
"Please. They can't hear you under here so they won't be able to know my plan." Herbert said.
"That's where your wrong!!!" Somepony shouted.
West looked behind him and saw Rainbow Dash with a stern look on her face.
"Oh... Hello Rainbow Dash. I didn't hear you come in. Eh heh heh heh." West said nervously.
"I know everything and I'm not gonna allow you to go through with it." Dash said.
"That is dissapointing." The reanimator said.
Suddenly he drew a revolver and fired a shot. But Dash got out of the way and dodged a whole lot of bullets.
"Hm. Time I make my getaway." West said and got into an escape pod.
"Farewell Sparkle and Dash. Hello new ruler of Equestria. Ahhhh Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!"
West laughed insanely and blasted off towards Canterlot.
"What are we gonna do?" Dash asked.
"... We're gonna stop that mad man and save the princesses. Get the girls over here. We have a Re-Animator to stop."
At Canterlot Princess Celestia and Luna were observing the city from above when Luna said,
"I am getting worried. There have been many sightings of dead ponies roaming the cities."
"I'm as concerned as you are. But nopony can explain what the cause of this is." Celestia said.
Suddenly a pod crashed through the ceiling and Herbert West came out of it with a blow torch and sealed the door shut.
"Good afternoon Princesses." He said.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Luna shouted.
"Why you're going to be part of an experiment." West said pulling out a syringe with a purple fluid in it.
Suddenly the doors were burst open and West turned around and found the Mane Six there.
"You! Don't try stop me! This is destiny!" He shouted.
"We won't allow you to take over all of Equestria. We will do anything it keep it safe." Twilight said.
"Hm. It appears my plan has been sidetracked." The reanimator said to himself. He pulled out a remote and pressed the button. Suddenly two giant metal arms grabbed the princesses and glow went around them.
"My own inventions. Magic and power sucking metal arms. They'll keep you two from escaping long enough for you to witness the deaths of your own favourite subjects." West said drawing his revolver and pulled the trigger and found that it was empty.
"Damn it. Looks I'll have to rely on Plan B." He said. He then injected his formula into the floor and then multiple zombie ponies came out of it.
"Destroy them my zombie army!" He shouted.
Immediately the zomibes attacked but the Mane Six tried to dodge them. Dash tried bucking their heads off but they just picked them back up and place them on their necks.
"It's no use. These zombies are indestructable." Dash said.
"Then it's time to use the Elements of Harmony." Twilight said.
Immediately a blue chest appeared and six bracelets, one of them a crown, were in it. They placed them around their necks, head for Twilight, and focussed all their energy into them. Suddenly they were lifted into the air.
"What sorcery is this?!" West shouted.
Suddenly Twilight's eyes opened and they were all white. Suddenly a rainbow beam appeared and coated the zombies which caused them to disappear and West's Re-Agent formula to destroy itself.
"Nooooooooo!!!!! My formula!!!!!! Years and years of painsticing research... Down the drain." He said to himself.
He then got up and approached the window.
"What are you doing?" Dash asked.
"That formula was all that I had. I was going to use it to bring my sister and mother back to life. I never wanted any of this. But now that the Re-Agent formula is gone..." West started. He then drew a pistol, cocked it and placed it to his head and said,
"I have nothing to live for."
BANG!!!
That noise went out throughout the room and then they saw a bullet hole in his head and then fall through the window and into the ocean below.
The castle guards searched the entire ocean but couldn't find the body of Herbert West. Twilight went home and then said to herself,
"I could have saved him from that life. He just wanted his family back. But he still tried to take over Equestria. But I can't blame him. And since that Re-Agent formula of his is gone for we'll never see hide or hair of the Re-Animator."
But in the basement where the rest of the formula was spilt over and into the sewers. Suddenly they made their way to Herbert West's body and covered his entire body. When it washed over his eyes opened up to show green glowing eyes.

"Damn it! Still not right!" Someone shouted.
In the basement of an old abandoned house a man wearing glasses, a blue shirt with a black tie and holding a syringe with a green fluid in it and then tossed it on the ground and stomped on it.
"I'm never gonna get that crazy side effect out of my re-agent formula. No matter how many times I've tried to change the formula it stays the same: the reanimatee going completely crazy. Huff. One might get up this crazy life but I, Herbert West, am not the one to give up." The man said to himself.
West then picked up some kind of special pill and then placed it into the re-agent serum but suddenly an explosion happened and a wormhole opened. Then it pulled Herbert West and his entire research table and doctor's bag into itself.
Herbert got up wearily and then saw that he was in a graveyard and suddenly his entire table with the machine that made his serum had shrunk down to the size of an ant and then he picked it up and placed it in his pocker and picked up his doctor's bag. He then backed up and then ran into a grave that read:
Here Lies Queen Amanda and King Rasburten.
Beloved Parents of Princess Celestia and Luna.
Former Rulers of Equestria.

R.I.P.
After reading it West got an idea in his head, a crazy idea, an mad scientist idea.
"Looks like I better *Looks towards the reader reading this fanon* give them life." He said.

It was a bright morning in Ponyville and everypony was doing their natural work as always. Except one Rainbow Dash who was taking a nap on a cloud dreaming about how awesome she is and cheering fans. Suddenly a newspaper hit her in the face and she read the headline.
Coffins of Legendary Parents of Princess Celestia and Luna disappear. Grave robber to blame.
Just last night the gravedigger noticed that two of his headstones had been dug up. He blames a graverobber did it to sell to an enemy country. The only clue that could be found was a syringe with a strange green liquid in it.
'A graverobber? That's a first. And stealing the graves of the king and queen? That's crossing a serious line. I gotta tell Twilight about this.' Dash thought to herself. She then dashed off to the library.
Herbert West took up refuge in an old abandoned house and set up shop in the basement of his experiments. He placed the coffins on a silver table and then got a crowbar to open up the coffins. Surprisingly the dead bodies were of ponies with wings and horns. And surprisingly the bodies were still in good shape. Normally by now the corpses would have rotted by now. West then felt some dust on the bodies and then saw the dust was sparkling.
'Magic dust? This is a scientific impossibility. And how can the bodies be ponies? I must have been brought into an alternative universe. ... This is going to be more fun than I thought.' He thought to himself. He then sprinkled some of the dust into his syringe with his re-agent formula into it. Suddenly it started glowing and then he injected the formula into the queen first. Suddenly his formula grew back and then he injected the formula into the king. Then he hid behind a book case as to not get spotted. He then saw that the dead bodies didn't scream in craziness when they got up. They seemed to be completely normal. He could hear them saying about royal duties and how they're daughters were doing and that they were going to have some sort of reunion. Then he witnessed they're horns glow and then completely disappear.
"It worked!! The magic dust not only made it so it couldn't run out but also fixed the crazy side-effect!! Now there's no stopping me from re-animating all the dead corpses in this world and giving them a second chance at life! I'll be world famous. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha *ahem* Phew. Laughing like a crazed scientist: not what I like." West said to himself.
