Chapter 2:Party Time

As soon as Spectrum walks in, he sees streamers and some confetti on the floor,  and along the bookshelves and a banner that is being hung between two bookshelves that says "Welcome to Ponyville Spectrum" to which he just smiles and says "We'll now this is a nice turn out."  Also some ponies that seem to be from around town

Dash then walks up to Pinkie and says "Pinkie, I thought we were going to have this on my birthday."

I know Dashie," said Pinkie with excitement in her voice "but then I thought that we should hold it today and have an even bigger party on your birthday."

All Dash could do then is shake her head and say "Ok Pinkie, that would be alright."

Pinkie then bounced away towards a table that has some food on it.  Afterwards, Dash led her dad to four other ponies that also came up to him and says "Hey dad, these are my friends Twilight."

"Pleasure sir." said a purple unicorn

"Applejack."

"Howdy." replied a orange pony that is wearing a Stetson hat

"Rarity."

"Charmed I'm sure." said a white unicorn

"And Fluttershy whom you already know."

"Hi there." said Fluttershy calmly

"How do you know him?" said Twilight with a surprised look

"Twi, me and her are from Cloudsdale and we were friends since we were little?"

Soarin then came in and says "Hi there all."

"Soarin, hello again." replied Applejack

After they were all introduced, Pinkie then shouts with excitement in her voice "Ok then, lets get this party started!"

So then after all that was done, Spectrum was shown to many other ponies that are there.  Along with some mares that went up to him just to get a close look at him to which Rainbow tried to shoo them away to little avail.  Soarin on the other hoof is trying his best to stick close to Dash but he seems to have a tough time so he went off to a table which seems to have some punch to which he poured some in and took a sip until a voice behind him that he regonized says "Hey Soarin, can I talk to you for a second?"

"Sure Spectrum."

Both of them then went to one side of the house and Spectrum stopped him and says with a serious tone in his voice "Listen Soarin, I hope you've been taking good care of my daughter ever since you met her."

"Of course sir, I've been a gentle colt to her all the time."

"That's good."

There was hardly any word said until Soarin says "Sir, I was hoping to ask you something."

"What would that be?"

Soarin then leaned into his ear and said something that was barely heard but Spectrum got a look on his face that might confuse any ponies that are near by.  He then smiled and says "If you want to of course you can."

Soarin then sighed with a smile and thanked Spectrum and went off to find Rainbow Dash.  He then spots her talking to some of her friends and as soon as he walks up to her, she sees him and hugged him and says "So, what did my did want with you?"

"Just a little father to son in law talk." replied Soarin

Dash then laughed at this and says "Well then, hope he approved of you."

"I think he does." said Soarin with a smile

"Good, then let's enjoy the party and have a amazing time."

So then the party went on for a few more hours with some games and food going around until it is time for Dash's friends to go home.

"Well, its been fun but I've got to get on back to the farm." said Applejack

"Yes, I have some orders to fill out for a customer." said Rarity

And one by one, they all said goodbye and went there separate ways.

As soon as they went outside, Spectrum says "Well, I better head off to a hotel now."

"No dad, you can stay with us at my house." said Dash suddenly

"No, I don't want to impose on you two and I'm sure you two want to have some alone time between yourselves." Spectrum says with a sly grin

Dash then gets a confused look but before she could say anything else Soarin then says "Don't worry Spectrum, I'm sure you'll be not imposing on us and she does have a guest room in it."

Spectrum then thinks for a bit until he finally says "Alright then, I'll stay at your house."

Dash then smiled and says "Alright then."

All three of them then went on towards Dash's house and as soon as they arrived, Dash showed her dad where he was sleeping which is on the first floor of the house and afterwards, Soarin and Dash then went up to there room and as soon as they went in Dash then jumped onto her bed and spread her hooves all over the bed.  Soarin laughs and says "Wow Dash, is there room for your coltfriend?"

Dash then laughs and says "Of course there is." she then made room for Soarin whom then crawls into the bed and suddenly Dash wraps her hooves around him and Soarin did the same thing and kissed her on the forehead and says "So then Dash, your dad seems to be awesome."

"He is, he was the one whom showed me how to fly and took me to my first Wonderbolt show."

"Nice." said Soarin with a smile until it turns into a look of concern and says "What about your mother?"

Dash herself then gets a sad look and says "Well, my mom died when I was very young from some rare disease that hits one Pegasus out of a thousand a year."

"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about that."

"It's alright, at least she was there for me.  She was there when I got my cutie mark, and when I started to learn how to fly."

Dash then gets up and reaches under her bed and pulls out something that looks like a scrap book and opens it up to the first page and Soarin sees three ponies two whom he recognizes as Dash and Spectrum and the third pony is a pink colored pony with a blue mane and tail and a couple of blue lightning bolts as her cutie mark.

After he sees it he says "I assume that's her?"

"Yep, her name was Firefly.  She was amazing from what my dad tells me and how they met is a bit of a funny story."

"Tell me."

"Alright, my dad was a hoofball player and my mother was a cheerleader for the team.  While one day at practice, a ball was thrown and a receiver missed and was heading towards where the cheerleaders was and my dad flew as fast as he can and tackled the one that the ball was heading to and no she wasn't hurt just surprised."

"Let me guess, this cheerpony was your mother?"

Dash laughs and says "Yep, at first it was awkward when they finally got a good look at each other and they fell for each other then and there."

"Wow, your dad was pretty awesome."

"Yep, from what he remembered, him and my mom were voted for best couple in high school and most likely to get married."

Soarin then looks into the book and sees a picture of her mom and dad together wearing a suit and a dress at what he assumes to be the Pegasus prom dance that the Cloudsdale High School holds every year.  There was even a picture he sees when they are getting married and one where they are in the hospital with a baby Rainbow Dash.

"Is there anything about your mother that you loved about her?"

Dash then brings a hoof to her chin and says "Well, dad always says I take after my mom with her personality."

Soarin the smiles and closes the book and puts it back and says "Well then Dash, we better get to bed."

Dash then grabs Soarin and pulls him into bed with her and says "Alright big colt, but first, can we hold each other?"

Soarin then wraps his hooves around her and says "Of course my little Dashie."

Dash then laughs and Soarin says "What's so funny?"

"My mom and dad called me that when I was younger."

"So you want me to stop?"

Dash then pulls Soarin closer and says "No, please call me any time you want."

"Alright, my little Dashie." he said when he kissed her on the forehead and then her lips.
