The Mystery Within.

Samlight sat on a table, lost in thought about how his life had turned after he left the guards and followed his own path which lead to friendship and fun, but no adventure, which is what he missed dearly in life

"You ok Sam?" Said Estel, a Unicorn he has been friends with since fillies and colts.

"He's fine, just in thought" Exclaimed Nightwing, a Pegasus he met while on tour of duty.

"How can you tell, you cant read his mind" Said Lightrift, His cousins Ex-Boyfriend from 2 months ago

"No, I'm fine, It's just... we never do anything exciting anymore, our days are set out for us, Sleep, Work, Bar, Sleep, It's just a boring cycle. Explained Samlight.

"True, but nothing can happen in this remote village" Said Estel.

"Well, maybe not normally, but today, look, guards have just entered and are searching for someone." Said Lightrift

Two Royal Guards strolled into the bar explaining they are looking for a Unicorn with a red mane and blue coat.

"Hey, that looks like you Saml... Samlight?" Asked Nightwing.

Samlight had walked outside and started to worry, Why do they want me? What have I done now?

The two guards approached Samlight and said in a calm voice "You need to come with us, Shining Armour needs to speak to you" Explained the Guards.

Sam said goodbye to his friends, and followed them in the Sky Chariot

Samlight strolled though the Castle gates and stood in front of the old barracks, with a quiet sigh he gently shoved the door open.

In the room is hundreds of solders running hard a rigorous exercises that would crush the feeble commoner. Walking though the room, Samlight felt old memory coming back to him...

2 Years Ago....

Sam was nervously waiting in the barracks for the commanding officer of his troop, He did astonishing well for a newbie and shocked many recruiters, so he expected a good leader. His entire jaw dropped when Shining Armour strolled into the confined space and explained that he was their commander, and that they had their first assignment in 2 weeks, and that they should study on creatures. One book lead to another, and Sam was hooked on the Arcane Magic behind the monsters, His favourite line was from "Old Magic and Potions" that sparked his interest in the first place

All unicorns have this Magic cursing though their hoofs and veins, All it takes is ones willingness to control it. .

On the day of the mission, they broke into a old warehouse to find a unknown beast to all but him, he mumbled all he knew about in and prepared to take immediate action Type 40-9 Behemoth, weakness, a ripped tissue between his lungs, whip recommended Sams quick thinking earned him the loyalty of his members, but overtime, Shining became suspicious of all his dabbling in these Dark Arts, and those suspicions irked Sam, so he left without a farewell.

Suddenly he was back, In the face of a beautiful mare, but suddenly held his breath when he saw who it was, Twilight Sparkle, Sister of Shining Armour.. "My Brother has been waiting, follow me" Sam took a deep breath, and stumbled into the Room.
