Twilight and I stared across the room at each other while Spike and Colin stood there awkwardly waiting for one of us to speak.

“Listen, I’m sorry about our previous meet,” I said attempting to end the hate.

“You have no idea what that did to Rarity, Rainbow Dash had to spend the night in the hospital with a concussion!” She yelled.

“I’m sorry, really, I am. I never meant for anypony to get hurt. I just really needed to talk to Celestia,”

“Did you really have to threaten our lives?”

“You aren’t the one ripped out of your own world! You aren’t the one who will never see their friends again! You aren’t the one who will never feel the love of their family again! YOU AREN’T THE ONE WHO WILL NEVER GO HOME!” That’s when it struck me, and hard. “Home…”

Twilight could see the anger rising in me, “I- I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…”

“No,” I said raising a hand. “Fuck this shit, fuck Equestria, fuck YOU, Twilight” After that I stormed out of the library angrier than I’ve ever been.

I ran. As fast as I could, away from that shit hole. I never wanted to see these, oh so perfect, Elements of Harmony again. They couldn’t understand and I couldn’t expect them to. After running for a while I found myself at Sweet Apple Acres. I walked over to a tree and fell down under it, curling up trying to shut out the world that wasn’t mine. Then, in my moment of weakness, I cried. Alone, thinking about all the things I’ve lost, I let it all out.

A fog rolled in, it had started raining. “It’s time Aidan, we need you…” That raspy voice said to me.

“What the fuck do you want?” I said. All hope was lost at this point, I wasn’t going home. I knew even if they found a way, this asshole wouldn’t let me go.

“I can bring you home,” it said.

“And why would you do that, you brought me here?”

“We needed something that you can give us,” The fog gathered into a humanoid shape and stood over me.

“What…” I said, not really caring what he wanted.

“You must lead our troops, you have to lead them to greatness, and you have to kill the Elements of Harmony,”

“Why?”

“I need not explain my reasons to you,” it responded.

“Fine, I’ll do it, but right after I do, you are taking me home,” Now I knew what I had to do.

“You will lead the dragon called Volos into the town and you will destroy it,”

“Where is he?” I asked just as the giant fucking dragon came smashing down. He was at least twice the size of Applejack’s barn. He wore over his crimson scales a giant set of black plate armor. I could tell that whatever they had planned, it was planned precisely. Waiting for every single detail to fall in line one at a time, it all came down to me.

“Greetings, human,” Volos said, he had a deep voice but not the threatening kind oddly enough.

“Let’s get this over with,” I said as I got up and onto his back.

“So be it,” He said as he reared up and marched into town. I guess he didn’t blow fire because of the pouring rain. It was really coming down now.

Inside Colin and Spike stood in front of the library. Colin stood and thought to himself. Twilight had realized what she did to Aidan, and went upstairs.

“Do you think Aidan will be ok?” Spike asked.

“Yeah, he may put on a show, but inside he is real nice. He can make it through anything,” Colin said reassuringly. “What’s your name little guy?”

“I’m Spike,” He said proudly. “Do you ever think of going home?” The baby dragon asked.

Colin sat there and thought. True he may never see his family, friends, or Earth ever again, and that did make him sad. “More than you know. Do you think Twilight can help us get home?”

“Honestly, I have no idea. I don’t think Twilight has ever worked with world transport,” Spike said looking down, knowing that he disheartened the teen a little bit.

As the silence grew, rain fell. It fell harder and harder as the minutes passed. Even the ground started to shake. Wait, no, that wasn’t the rain. Colin looked outside at the puddles; they rippled every few seconds, like in Jurassic Park. “Spike, what could be big enough to do that?”

“O- on- only a d- dr”

“DRAGON!” Yelled a scream from outside.

“Fuck, just what we need,” Colin said grabbing the sword and running outside with Spike.

Volos stood tall and flapped his wings so the rainclouds dispersed. I looked down at Colin and Spike with a dreadful grin on my face. This was it; they were the only ones standing in the way.

“Volos, let me handle them,” I said and jumped from the dragons back. I walked slowly up to Colin and glared at him. “You can still join me,”

“And do what? Kill these ponies!” Colin said. I think he knew what was going on, Spike stood there cowering.

“Give me the sword, and let me end this now, before any pony gets hurt.” I stood with my hand out, waiting to receive the sword. “You know you can’t kill me with that, give it to me, and let me end this.” I gave him a quick wink. Please, PLEASE, fucking understand.

To my surprise he gave me the sword, “Do it, now,”

I turned to the dragon and climbed upon his back once more. “By the way Volos…” I said quietly. “I made a promise, and I intend to keep it.” I took Colin’s sword and shoved it deep into two plates of the dragon’s armor at the base of his head.

He screamed in pain and flipped me off of him, good thing I took the sword with me. I slammed into the ground, and slowly stood to face the dragon. “You fool; the Prophet will have his way! You only signed your death sentence…”

“Fuck. You,” I said as his fire engulfed me. It was painful, but over in a flash. No, this wasn’t the end… Death was too fucking easy. I’m not going to let some scaly bitch ruin my new life. Within a moment’s notice I was fully healed and sprinting toward the distracted dragon. Stabs flew from every angle and cut the dragon everywhere. I moved faster than I knew I could, and wouldn’t rest until Volos was dead. I jumped back onto his head, and with a great thrust, brought the sword down through his head.

It was over, I did what I promised. I jumped off the dragon and walked a few feet. “Colin, help…” Then the floor met my face.

“Will he be ok?” Colin asked Nurse Redheart.

“Yes, he just needs rest from all the stress and adrenaline. He just couldn’t take it,” She replied.

Twilight sat next to the bed, she didn’t look at Aidan. How could she? Twilight just tore him apart, and he risked his life to save them. The other elements were there as well. Pinkie’s hair was deflated. Nopony believed that Aidan was the one to stop the dragon, especially after his previous encounter with the Elements. They all just sat there, waiting. Not a word was said. Colin knew Aidan was fine, he had to be.

Vis.

Yes, Aidan?

Where am I?

You are in a coma.

What happened?

After you killed Volos, you just dropped.

Will I wake up?

It’s hard repairing a brain, Aidan. It takes time, likely a day.

Are they ok?

Yes. You kept your promise.

Aidan was still in the coma as the day progressed, night came, and left. Colin was always there; somehow sure I’d wake up. Rarity was there too. Aidan had threatened to kill her before, but now saved her. Why? What did she do to deserve this? Colin was sitting on a chair in the corner just starring off into space, thinking. Rarity was sitting right next to Aidan’s bed. She never left his side.

I peeled my eyes open slowly, being blinded by the lights of a hospital. I looked around and saw Colin sleeping upright in a chair. I looked to my right and saw the last one I expected to see, Rarity. She was sleeping in a chair with her head resting on my arm. The poor pony looked as if she hadn’t left the place, her mane was a mess and dried tears stained her face. I sat up slowly trying not to wake Colin up. I had to wake Rarity up though; she had to know I was fine.

“Rarity,” I said quietly as she opened her eyes and yawned.

“Aidan!” She squee’d.

“Shh, not so loud. How long have you been here?”

“Since i first heard,” She answered.

“How long has it been?” I asked.

“Just under a day, we were so worried about you,” She said.

“I made you a promise, remember?”

She just nodded and looked back at me.

“Listen, about last time we met…” I looked down.

“Please, let’s not talk about that,” She said looking at me.

“Sure. Did you tell Celestia?” I asked.

“No, Twilight said you should be there to explain. She seems depressed about something though.” Rarity said.

“Can you gather the others and tell them to meet in the library tonight? I want to set things right.” I hoped Rarity would be the one to help me, I didn’t want to cause these ponies any more pain.

“Sure,” She said as she left the room.

Colin awoke a bit after she left. “Hey bud how ya doin?”

“I feel fine, you?” I asked as if nothing had happened.

“Killing a dragon, mark that off your bucket list,” He said. We both shared a laugh.

“Listen, Colin, chances are helping that dragon was the only way back. I just ruined that,”

“Don’t say that, you just saved a town by yourself! Not many people can say that,”

“Aren’t you worried about Earth?” I asked.

“Yes, and I would love to go back, but if that means a town of innocent people die… It’s just not worth it. Even if they are ponies, they still deserve to live,” I was honestly surprised at how well he was taking it. I ruined our chance at home, but hell, I saved a town.

Rarity walked back in, “The others are waiting at the library,”

“Great, thanks,” I said with a warm smile.

The three of us walked back to the library after Nurse Redheart checked me out of the hospital.

I opened the door and walked in to a room and was greeted by the other Elements. It was a good feeling, they cared about me. I can’t keep these voices a secret anymore; Vis can stay, but the other one… “Alright, sit down, its story time.”
