Friendship is Nexus

Everypony had gathered in town hall to hear the princesses. They had been packed to the rafters to see them speak. They had no idea of what they were about to see. A small group of royal guards were gathered in front of the main stage just in case some fool had a bit to much cider and decided to try something.

Finally after what felt like an eternity to some the Mayor came on stage to give a long uninteresting introduction.

"Fillies and gentlecolts it is my honor to introduce our generous, kindhearted, benevolent,humble-"

"For bucks sake get on with it" yelled an intoxicated mare with three smiling flowers for a cutie mark.

The Mayor frowns in her general direction but continues regardless "As I was saying it is my honor to introduce Princess Celestia and Princess Luna!"

There was a deafening roar of stomping from the crowd. Everypony wanted to show their approval of their leaders. Celestia and Luna appeared from behind a curtain to even more applause. Celetia raises a foreleg in greeting to her subjects. Luna stands to the side with a small smile a little nervous attending her first Summer Sun celebration in a thousand years. She was admittedly apprehensive about how ponies would react to her after the previous years Celebration was ruined by Nightmare moon.

Finally Celestia decided to speak to her subjects "Fillies and gentlecolts I am happy to commemorate another summer solstice." she pauses "And I am even happier to celebrate it with my sister for the first time in a thousand years."

She waits for the applause to peter out and continues" However, this celebration would not be possible without the hard work of you the citizens of Ponyville."

Celestia looks over the crowd with a proud smile "And I am especially proud of my faithful student and her friends the Elements of Harmony."

Just as she finishes her statement the town hall doors burst open. Everypony in the building including the two princesses direct their attention to the commotion. Then six mares enter town hall they do not look happy.

"Well what a timely entrance fillies and gentlecolts, the Elements of Harmony!"said Celestia.

The Elements ignored the nervous half-hearted applause from the crowd and continued to approach the stage. The guards moved to intercept but Celestia ordered them to yield.

"Why don't you and the Elements join us on stage Twilight?" asked Celestia.

Twilight smiled and said "Of course Princess."
