Legends of Equestria: DemonStorm

Haze and Queen Faust stood in front of everypony. The army of humans and ponies still stood around inside and outside of the city. They all were bowing to the queen, who stood still, not bold, like a queen should be. Like Celestia is, but Faust stood there. It was silence for a while, no pony was sure what to say. It was Haze who eventually broke the silence.

“So, are we prepared?” He asked.

“So you are back? You know you can’t do this alone?” Spectra replied, he hadn’t seemed to move, he was still standing over Rainbow’s corpse.

“Friendship is magic isn’t it? Of course I need you, Equestria needs us. I just needed old friends to show me the way.” Haze answered but said nothing else on the matter. Faust nodded but was also silent.

“Then, in that case. What’s the plan?” Spectra asked.

“There is no plan. We wait and prepare for the invasion.” Faust replied.

“Invasion?” Nick asked quickly.

“You didn’t think the enemy would be so overjoyed that you attacked them they would leave you alone did you?” Faust replied with a snap she didn’t mean to put in.

“Shit. The enemy are coming here?” Nick shouted.

“Yes. And soon most likely. But you have an army, and you have me. However, there are innocent ponies here, and I have no way to protect them, so we must hold the enemy here, at Canterlot at all costs.”

“So is this another ‘to the last pony’ fight again?” Spectra asked.

“Yes, but this time, we can’t retreat.” Haze replied. Spectra looked to Rainbow again and nodded; he straightened himself out and picked up a gun saddle.

“Well then, what are we waiting for? Let them come.” He muttered and smiled loosely.

“We must prepare Spectra, we can’t just fight them.” Faust grunted.

“How do we prepare then?” Spectra asked.

“Magic, we put magic mines all around the gates, walls and city and fight them when they get here, fall back through the city and hold them at the castle.” Faust replied. There was another pause, until Luna nodded finally.

“That could work, the castle has many choke points where we could ambush or regroup in, if we are falling that badly. We take them into the tunnels and collapse them behind us, trapping them. And us.” The Night Princess said.

“Yes, that could work, well done daughter.” Faust smiled. Then looked to Fallen Gears.

“Fallen Gears, collect your troops and bring them inside, I need every unicorn to start placing wards. Get the archers on and behind the walls and the warriors inside. We can’t guarantee the enemy will spawn in front of the walls, they could already be here for all we know.” Faust ordered, the stallion nodded and galloped of shouting out orders. Faust then looked to the rest of the Equestrians.

“Celestia, get your remaining forces to join Fallen Gears. Luna, go with your sister. We will stay here inside the city and make sure they don’t flank your.-” Faust paused and smiled. “-Flanks.” She finished. The two alicorn sisters nodded and

ran, the Equestrian guard following.

“You have been a pony for years, and you are still laughing at puns?” Heart Breaker smiled, Faust smiled back and giggled.

“Of course, it’s what keeps me sane.” Faust replied. “Now, let’s get back in the. In the saddle.” The queen and creator of Equestria joked.

“Let’s.” Heart Breaker replied. “What is the plan again?”

“Waiting. They will be here soon.”

“How can you tell?” Haze asked.

“I can feel their magic, well, the magic of the Void anyway. It’s trying to break through, and is breaking through the barrier between the Multiverse and the Void. We have about two minutes.”

“About?” Nick asked.

“Well, one minute forty-five seconds, forty-four.” Faust replied.

“And we are nowhere near prepared.” Haze muttered quietly.

“Naturally.” Heart Breaker replied.

“Check your weapons, check your stamina. This will be a long day.” Haze ordered.

“It is actually about midnight now, but Celestia and Luna are a bit busy to lower the sun and raise the moon.” Faust replied and winked.

“It is going to be a very long night then.” Haze smiled.

“Well if it’s midnight it would still be a long day.”

“Then why correct- actually I don’t want to know, you are the queen, do whatever.”

“I am so glad I have ones permission to do so.”

“Portal!” Spectra shouted. He pointed just outside the gates; a medium sized black portal was swirling into existence. Luckily it was outside the gates, otherwise everypony would have to move, something they couldn’t afford to do.

"Is this it then?" Nick asked.

"It's been 'it' so many times now it means nothing now. But this is certainly the point of Eqestria's survival or destruction." Haze replied.

"Mo'ka!" Some pony on the wall shouted as the enemy poured through, there was a loud explosion on the wall and ponies were shot into the air from the blast. Gunfire from both sides started and shouts and ordered echoed all around.

"We need to get in there." Haze muttered, itching to run in to help.

"Not yet Haze." Faust replied. Staring at the battle, her horn was glowing and magic poured down.

"What is the plan once we get in anyway?" Spectra asked.

"Keep to the edges of their forces and chip away at their numbers, we know we cant win a charge, we just get split from everypony and that obviousl isn't good." Haze replied. The Pegasus nodded.

"What are we waiting for Faust?" Spectra asked the queen, who was concentratingon a spell. She closed her eyes quickly as more magic poured out. Haze started lending magic to the queen, who nodded and smiled, openeing her eyes again.

"You ready?" Faust asked, smiling, the sky was becoming dark and storm clouds began to appear.

"Ready?" Haze asked.

"On my signal, run in and join the fight. I will cover you from here." Faust ordered.

"Of course my queen." Haze replied, nodding his head. Thunder sounded suddenly.

"On three. One. Two.-" Faust said, a ball of lightning struck down and exploded onto the ground into the Mo'ka, more quickly followed, striking quickly and harsely. Booms of explosions continued in a loop as Faust cast her weather spell.

"Three! Get your. Plots, in there!" Faust shouted, pushing Haze with a spell, then turning back to her weather spell. "Go! I can't keep this up forever. Even a queen has her limits to magic! Go. Save Equestria." Faust ordered, the group nodded and charged into battle.

Haze's white horn appeared and he shot into the air with his wings, shooting toward the enemy, red fire shot back, both to him and the defending ponies. There portal was still open and the enemy were still pouring through, explosions and lightning both ran out, stricking each side of the battle. The others charged through the gates and cut through the Mo'ka.

"There are too many!" Spectra shouted.

"There are always to many. Just keep fighting. For Rainbow." Heart Breaker shouted back, shooting an enemy dead.

"For Rainbow." Spectra muttered. "YOU BASTARDS!" Spectra shouted and ran toward a group of the enemy, spamming the Decay Gun trigger. "Go back to the Void! Go fuck yourselves and leave us alone!" Spectra shouted, blasting through the enemy. He ran to a large group, Heart Breaker and Twilight ran after him, shooting the enemy as they ran.

"Spectra!" Heart Breaker shouted. Aiming down his sight and shooting a Mo'ka coming up behind the Pegasus, Spectra kept running. He ran straight into a group of them, all aiming their spear weapons down. the lasers were charging and red sparks had formed on the edge. Spectra paused, slid across the ground and looked up. Twilight and Heart Breaker ran in just as the fire started.
