Legends of Equestria: DemonStorm

Spectra opened his eyes to pain, so much pain, his body was cool and still. He could feel the bloody leaving his body and he could feel the dampness of the ground. The explosions were still ringing but they were quieter. Spectra rolled slightly and saw Heart Breaker also on the floor laying down, his wings were twitching but otherwise he gave no hint of getting up or moving. Twilight was on her back, crying out, her horn lay broken, the top half laying in blood next to her. Spectra looked to Heart and Twilight once more before he started to crawl toward Heart Breaker. Spectra bit his lip down, to stop himself screaming in pain, causing it to bleed. He tried to flap his wings but no response, either they were gone, or he was crippled, Spectra really didn't care right now.

"Heart Breaker." Spectra muttered, the Alicorn made no movement so Spectra called again, the Alcorn grunted in pain and rolled over slowly turned over slowly and looked to Spectra. His eyes were open slightly, cuts and burns covered his face. His horn was black and his mane was all but gone.

"Well, this, sucks." Heart Breaker muttered, coughing blood. The blood was a crimson colour and was pure liquid.

"What happened?" Spectra asked. Not remembering, his ears were ringing and he smelt burning.

"Lightning, not Faust's, apparently. The enemy have their own mages. Fuck me." Heart grunted weakly. He wasn't lying, just after Spectra, Twilight and Heart Breaker had begun their assault on the enemy troops the clouds went even more black and dark than before and purple lightning had fallen down on the pony forces. The enemy had reversed Faust's spell. They were truely a force of hatred and power.

"Well, I guess this is it." Spectra whispered, closing his eyes. They closed much easier than he would have hoped.

"Yeah, maybe." Heart muttered. There was silence for a minute, the battle dimmed but the deafening booms of the lightning. Spectra wasn't at peace, but had died fighting and would now be with his wife. With Aeb, and Shadow and Derpy, and Tage. All those that had fallen so they could defeat this enemy. This, invincible thing of an enemy.

"SPECTRA! GET YOUR ASS UP!" Haze shouted from somewhere behind the dying Pegasus. Spectra opened his eyes and felt magic surge over him, he saw white surrounding Heart Breaker and Twilight. Haze was flying over the trio, dodging shots from the enemy spear guns, his horn was glowing bright and after a moment of flight he landed in front of Heart Breaker.

"Celestia! Faust! Luna! Medic!" Haze shouted, leaning his head down, aiming the horn, which shot magic straight into the trio. Crystal, Steven and Fallen Gear all ran in attacking the enemy. Shooting their guns blindly, defending Haze and the others.

"Cover Haze!" Crystal shouted. Bright Haze nodded his thanks and continued healing, the magic shot out of his horn, Spectra couldn't even see Haze's head anymore, it was covered in white light. White magic sparked about, making the area light up, surrounding the four of them in a white shield.

"Hold them! Let Haze heal them! Fallen Gears, go get a medic! Haze sure as shit can't cast alone." Crystal added, the pony nodded and ran, screaming out for help as he went.

Lauren Faust saw the shield from where she stood, the huge dome appeared in the middle of the battlefield, where the black Mo'ka lightning had struck. The shield slowly formed and magic sparked from it, unstable but pure.That was a rare sight, pure, unstable magic, there was no telling what it could do, and Lauren prayed for the pony who had cast it, but she only knew of one pony who cast pure magic. Haze. The queen ran forward and charged deep into the battle to look for Celestia, the shield was sparking loads and giving off a loud sound of magic, a loud, repeating hum. Faust found her daughters and shot at a Mo'ka about to attack her. The two sisters turned around to their mother and bowed. Horns still glowing.

"Mother. What is it?" Luna asked quietly.

"Haze, he is going to blow himself up. We need to stop him from casting that spell." Lauren

"But, why would he kill himself?" Celestia asked.

"He isn't doing it deliberately, I can feel the magic, it's a healing spell he is attempting, but it is going to be too big to control." Faust replied.

"Let us go then mother." Luna muttered and the three Alicorns ran forward toward the growing ball of white. But it was too late. The ball expanded once more and shot out in all directions, causing a huge wave of an explosion and giving a loud boom as it went. The three Alicorns were shot into the sky and pushed back onto the ground. The wave continued far into Canterlot. The force of the fall, knocking out Faust. The world was loud, but still went black.

Spectra lay on his side, ringing in his ears and blood dripping down his face, everything hurt and he couldn't move. Spectra felt himself screaming but there was no sound, just a white world and ringing. His body was weak and cold.

'Damn this hurts, hurts so much. This is certainly my death. Fuck.' Spectra thought to himself, screaming out again but again not hearing it.

'Rainbow. I need you. Why did you die! I love you Rainbow! I love you, I need you! RAINBOW!' Spectra shouted to himself, he wasn't overly sure if he was thinking, or yelling, everything hurt. Hurt so much.

"Spectra." A voice called, it was Rainbow. "Spectra. All you need to do is open your eyes." Rainbow called. Suddenly, the ringing stopped and the world went to black. The blood stopped dripping and Spectra could feel life again. Slowly, he opened his eyes. The world was white and cool. Rainbow was standing over him. Her hair long and clean, no marks or scars on her. Spectra had none either, he felt refreshed and healthy.

"Am I D-, am I dead?" Spectra asked, even his voice was pure.

"At this moment in time? Yes, right now you are." Rainbow muttered, she was smiling.

"Shit. But why? I mean, I am with you. But I should be defending on the battlefield. What happened?" Spectra shouted, confused.

"Calm Spectra, it is okay. I said 'right now you are', not forever. Just for this moment."

"What does that mean?"

"You died, but right now Haze is reviving you. You, Twilight, and Heart Breaker. But casting the spell killed you all. Brought you here, with me."

"But, where is this? Why are you here? How am I here, dead for only a moment?"

"Spectra, you have so many questions, but you don't have time to hear all the answers. You are only here for a moment, so listen close. No matter what happens down there, remember one thing. You must protect the Multiverse, even the dead are not safe from the enemy. So whatever happens. Protect. The. Multiverse. Follow Haze and Faust, they will figure out what to do. You won't like it, but you will be with me one day my love. Promise me though."

"Promise you what? Rainbow that doesn't make sense."

"Promise me, you will go with Haze and the others."

"Where?"

"I can't say. Spectra, when you die, you see everything. Past, present and future. I know everything about the Multiverse there is to know. You have no idea how much it hurts. Just promise me. You will never stop fighting the Mo'ka." Rainbow muttered, she was crying now, Spectra was confused but promised anyway.

"Good. Now go. Return to the fight. Always remember me." Rainbow muttered, her body was fading and Spectra could feel the scars and pain coming back to his body, no where near as much as before. But pain.

"Goodbye Rainbow." Spectra muttered, and was on Equestria again. The whiteness was fading and the sounds of battle returned slowly.

"Spectra! Guy! They are okay! Get some mages in there now! Faust is still down!" A voice shouted. Spectra passed out.
