Legends of Equestria: DemonStorm

The next morning Dari awoke to the sun, everypony had slept all through the night, she stood up to prepare herself and put on her snow clad armour, the Siren streched a little and gave a yawn, still tired but ready to go. Nick, who was on guard noticed her up and walked over.

"Morning Siren." He greeted, also pulling his arms away from his knife body and making the sound of a yawn

"Morning Knife." Dari replied more tired then she was meant to be.

"Its Sir Knife to you." Nick joked, he bowed slightly and laughed.

"I would've been knighted to you know." Dari replied, bringing a hoof up and waving it in a circle.

"Yeah well you were. Dead." Nick said, slow, regretting his words.

"Ha, don't remind me." Dari replied smiling for once.

"Sorry."

"Its okay Nick, come on. Lets wake everypony up." Dari muttered and walked up to Rainbow and Spectra, the two were sleeping soundly together, hugging. Rainbow was smiling in her sleep and cuddled up to Spectra more.

"How adorable." Nick muttered standing over the pair.

"Yeah." Dari replied quietly.

"SUN'S UP LOVE BIRDS, WAKE THE FUCK UP!" Nick shouted, proud of himself. The two jumped up very quickly. Figuratively shit themselves. Rainbow just gave an evil glare at the knife and Spectra punched the knife, nearly cutting himself.

"Fuck you Nick." Spectra muttered, the knife was smiling, well would if he could.

"What?" Nick asked. Dari just laughed and watched as everypony else slowly began to wake up. The group had a small breakfast and moved on, Steven however had to go into the Everfree and kill some animals to eat, he was getting to be a large dragon rather than the smallish serpent they once knew him as.

"Keep growing like this Steven and we will be able to ride you." Rarity shouted up, dwarfed by the serpent.

"Ha. Well until then, its only Nick." Steven replied. The knife however was actually on foot, having to run to catch up to everypony. Dari and Spectra were at the front of the group and Heart Breaker stood at the back, walking slow.

"Poor Heart Breaker." Spectra muttered.

"What do you mean?" Dari asked.

"I think he is still mourning Haze, well we all are, but they were both human most of their lives." Spectra replied.

"Ah of course, did they know each other? Sorry since Rebirth my memory isn't so good." Dari grunted.

"No. Well not that they have said anyway."

"I see."

"How is Treeborn?" Spectra asked after a short silence.

"For a four year old filly. She drives me insane." Dari replied.

"You're telling me, try to kids whose mother is Rainbow Speed." Spectra laughed.

"Well yours were planned, mine.-" Dari muttered. "-Treeborn is just the after effects of the Rebirth. She shouldn't excist."

"Well Dari, she is. You shouldn't feel bad, having a child is the best thing in the world."

"What about losing one?" She asked, talking about Haze having to watch his filly Tage die.

"Well." Spectra started not really sure how to handle that, eventually he gave up. "I don't know." Spectra muttered, must be horrible, worse than anything.

"Well I am sure Canterlot nursery will look after all our children til we return."

"Yeah. I guess." Dari grunted. Heart Breaker suddenly rushed forward to the front.

"What we talking about?" He asked.

"Nothing Heart Breaker." Spectra replied quickly. Dari looked confused but said nothing.

"Good, so how far we got?" Heart Breaker asked.

"We are only in our second day Heart." Dari muttered.

"I know that. I meant how long we got of, this.-" He replied pointing his hoof around the bare and boring landscape, even the Everfree was beginning to disappear into the distance. "I wanna kill something." He added.

"No idea Heart. We should be close to the mountains by tomorrow, then over and across a small ocean and straight up north for about four days." Dari answered.

"How do you suppose we cross an ocean with no boats?"

"Well hopefully some stable boats from Old Equestria are still there, or, we ride Steven across." Dari replied. Heart Breaker was going to question it but decided against it.

"Well, we got a very long trip then. How long over the mountains?" Spectra asked.

"About two or three days, most likely four with our numbers." Dari replied.

"How come you know so much about this trip?" Heart Breaker asked.

"Back in Elwood, my home.-" Dari began, she sobbed a bit at painful memories quickly but the continued. "-We had to make the trip, on foot to Old Equestria to get enough magic from the Heart to become true Sirens. Without it, we are just normal ponies, everypony could take the test, many died, we may even see some old bones still there, but even crippled unicorns would go just to regain their magical ability."

"Do you think it would work. On me?" Heart Breaker asked sheepishly.

"Maybe, I have never seen a Siren Alicorn, let alone a human try it. It could work." Dari replied, Heart Breaker smiled slightly and laughed.

"Come on, we still got miles to go." Spectra muttered, also smiling.

"Of course we do. And I am going to complain every minute." Nick said, suddenly appearing on Heart Breaker's back.

"Piss off. You ride Spectra." Heart Breaker laughed, bucking the knife off who fell to the ground.

"Spectra?" Nick asked.

"No, fuck ya. You woke me up." Spectra laughed, then knelt down to let Nick climb on.

"You need a shave mate." Nick said, copying Spectra's accent.

"Don't push it." Spectra replied then put a hoof to his face, small hairs were growing, soon to form a beard.

"Bullocks. Hey Nick. Can I borrow you?" Spectra asked.

"Wait til we get back Speed." Nick replied quickly, folding his arms.

"Fine." Spectra said. "Tiny bastard." The Pegasus muttered, smiling.

"I heard that." Nick replied, talking into Spectra's ear.

"I said don't push your luck. I'll go Red."

"You know you can't control it like that."

"Not yet." Spectra grunted. Not yet. The group kept walking.
