A male American human wakes up in a world of talking, magical, multicolored ponies. He (and, soon, everypony else) figures that he is insane. The voice in his head does not help matters.
What would YOU think if you suddenly started seeing around you not humans, but talking, magical, multicolored ponies? You would think you were crazy, right?
Enter Alexander, a calm, reasonable individual looking to work a calm, reasonable job and live a calm, reasonable life. One day, he wakes up...somewhere else, with no memory of how he got there. Not only are the inhabitants of the place a bizarre mishmash of equine and human characteristics, but there is another person only he can see.
Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle and her friends find a madpony who just might be what he says he is, and whose particular properties trigger a discovery that could rock the kingdom to its core, or save it.
