Chapter 31: Trying to enjoy the rest of the day
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"It was fine." She said uncomfortably.
"That's nice." I said as I set the beer down on the floor and got up. "I'm gonna take a shower and change. Give me about twenty minutes and the day is yours."
"Okay."
I walked down the hall to the bathroom and closed the door.
I finished my shower and stepped out onto the tiled floor and rumpled jumpsuit. I reached toward the rack to find myself grabbing at nothing but air. "Shit."
I remembered the towel was still out in the living room. Where Twilight was. I cracked open the door and peaked my dripping head out. Twilight was still facing the computer. I took my chance and reached out to the small closet full of towels. Unfortunately it was at least a foot out of reach. I looked back to see she was still focused on the computer.
"Oh this is a bad Idea."
I took a step out and reached for a towel. "Uhhh."
I stopped dead in my tracks at the voice I new was Twilight. My eyes widened and I felt the blood rush to my face as it reddened. I slowly turned my head to the left to see Twilight staring at me and time stood still. I could almost feel the air blow past a certain part of me that was now on display. "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!"
She blushed and turned back around. I snatched a towel and darted back into the bathroom slamming the door. I dried off and wrapped it around my waist. I started for the door but stopped myself. "God you freakin' ponce. This sucks. I worried her with the ass kicked thing and now she just saw Gyahh. I held my hand up to my face at how weird this is.
I braced myself and walked out. I hurried down the hall a bit and into my room and got dressed. I came back out and sat down on the couch staring off at the black screen of the tv.
Twilight turned around and looked at me while biting her lower lip. "That was...umm."
"Awkward?" I interrupted.
"Uh yeah, awkward sounds about right." She looking off and nodding.
"Listen I'm uh, I'm sorry for that."
"It's okay, I-I don't mind. I mean, you've pretty much seen the same of me so I guess we're kind of...even in that."
Hearing that didn't make me feel any less embarrassed at it. That it was over something stupid made me feel kind of stupid over it.
"I think the thing that threw me was, well, I didn't know for humans it could be that b-"
"Stop, just, just stop. Please don't make this weirder." I begged holding my hands up.
"Alright." She said getting up from the stool.
She took a seat next to me on the couch and placed her hand on my arm comfortingly. I let out a sigh and looked over to her. "I-"
She held her hand up. "Let's just drop it okay? You said when you were done that the rest of the day would be mine. Let's just go back to the book and keep things normal. for the most part."
"Did I ever tell you your my favorite pony?"
"No, no you didn't. But you didn't have to."
We both shared a smile and I grabbed the beer off the floor and took a sip.
"I have to say; that was a little pointless of a problem. Eh, who gives a fuck." I shrugged.
