Chapters Phantasma Eeria...The Pony from the Shadows
Our story begins on a high-speed train in the middle of a particularily violent winter. Phantasma Eeria; a red unicorn mare with an orange and yellow striped mane and tail, and a red zero with a sword through it as a cutie mark; gazed upon the seven other ponies and the dragon on board the train with her. She knew who they were but they did not know who in Celestia's name she was, she stepped back and seemed to vanish into the shadows. The other 'ponies' on the train were Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Derpy Hooves...and Spike...the dragon. Suddenly the eight heads staring at the spot Phantasma had disappeared from were joined by another, a red one with magenta eyes and a horn protruding from the forehead. Rarity turned her head saw Phantasma and screamed, causing six of the eight other passengers on the train to jump.
The only ponies maintaining composure were the blue pegasus who casually put on her sunglasses, and Phantasma. Rainbow Dash simply looked at the unicorn, who had startled Rarity, through her shades and said calmly "Needs to be about Twenty Percent cooler." This remark caused Phantasma too briefly chuckle before remembering why she had gotten the mane six, Spike and Derpy to meet with her. She said "I assume you are all wondering why you are all here," at which the addressed ponies nodded.
After the last sentence everypony on the train let out an audible gasp and Fluttershy's eyes started to water as she felt sadness rising up inside of her after having her friend turned evil...again.
A common inquiry was flowing through the minds of all of the passengers, except Phantasma and Derpy. They were wondering who this red mare was, how she knew so much and whether or not they could trust her.
Rainbow Dash furrowed one side of her brow in a look that in itself said 'Really??' as she did not believe a word the mare had said after she had made the sarcastic comment towards her.

Chapter 1...After the Train
Previously, Phantasma had invited the mane six, Derpy Hooves and Spike the Dragon to meet her on a train to an unknown location. When the train had reached a point far enough away from mainstream civilisation, Phantasma had begun to talk to the invited ponies and dragon. She had told them why she invited them, who she was and how she knew so much about them, but little else.
Our story continues on the same train as before. Rainbow Dash managed to regain her composure before anypony else.
The mane six, Derpy and Spike looked out of the windows and saw the Crystal Empire growing smaller as they sped away. They all wondered where they were going for a moment before the train ground to a halt and Phantasma told them that they had reached their destination. When everypony had vacated the carriage, they were met by a steel door in the side of what appeared to be a large glacier. Spike gulped, Derpy flew muzzle first into the face of the wall of ice and the mane six gazed in awe. Phantasma casually walked up to the door and used a spell on it causing it to open.
When they got through the door the eight guests were greeted with masses of threads which meant that negotiating their way around the ice cave became a hassle, meanwhile Phantasma traversed the room with ease as she had done this many times before. When Twilight got to the converging point of the threads the saw a rather cluttered board with pictures of Discord, Scorpio, Tyrek, Sunset Shimmer's demonic form, and what the beast looked like. The being that was threatening to bring down Equestria looked very similar to Discord however all four of his legs were equine and he had large horns protruding from just behind his ears, however his size remained that of a draconiquous. Fluttershy saw this picture and screamed, her eyes burst into tears and she huddled herself up into a reasonably foetal shape.
Phantasma said "One at a time, you're giving me a worse headache than I already have"

Chapter 2...The First Signs
Previously; after the mysterious invite from somepony that had never been heard of, the mane six boarded a train to an unknown location, where they met the red unicorn mare named Phantasma Eeria. Phantasma explained her intentions, introduced herself but little else. When the train ground to a halt near Phantasma's 'house'; a cave in a large glacier, the mane six were surprised by where The Pony from the Shadows lived. Upon entering the mane six found themselves in a web of threads linking theory to evidence in Phantasma's investigation of the being created by Sunset Shimmer's demonic form. Shortly afterwards Derpy Hooves knocked out Phantasma causing Rainbow Dash to shout at her and make her cry. When Phantasma regained consciousness she went to get a muffin with Derpy.
Twilight said "I hope this works I really do, after all if it wasn't for Discord, Tyrek would have destroyed the world as we know it."Species Parasitis Demonis '.

Our story so far; Phantasma Eeria, a dark red unicorn mare that nopony had heard of, invited the mane six to meet with her
Twilight entered the Crystal Palace and ran into the middle of the room with Princess Cadence and greeted each other by chanting "Sunshine, Sunshine, Ladybugs awake, Clap your hooves and do a little shake," performing each appropriate action to the letter during the chant. Phantasma observed from the shadows in a corner of the grand throne room smiling to herself as the pair carried out what seemed to be tradition by now. When the chant was finished Twilight asked courteously whether Princess Cadence or Prince Shining Armor had any knowledge on what had happened.Cadence nodded as she stated "A being, not unlike Discord passed through here and caused this sister."
Twilight gulped at this statement, however before she could speak Shining Armor asked "Twily what should we do?" At this Phantasma stepped out from behind the concerned rulers of the esteemed Empire and said "If I may interject." Cadence screamed as she hadn't noticed Phantasma's presence in the room at all. Guards rushed in and surrounded Phantasma, who slowly backed into the shadows before disappearing.
Cadence and Twilight were shocked at Phantasma's small speech, whereas Shining lowered his head as his horn lit up with magic. Phantasma looked calmly at the Prince before turning and saying "Do it, but if you do Twilight won't see her friends again, also this being won't be stopped either and chaos will take over Equestria, so if you think you can live with that, go ahead." Shining was taken aback by this and stopped the flow of magic to his horn before asking why all this would happen. Phantasma then explained that Twilight's friends were in her house, which was spell-locked so Twilight couldn't get in by herself and her friends were inside her humble abode, Phantasma then added that she was the only one that had any knowledge about the being and its weaknesses.
Twilight added that Phantasma was a new friend of hers, which caused Phantasma to flush as she had never had anypony consider her as a friend. Phantasma then invited the two royal ponies who hadn't seen her ice cave before, to find out all the red mare knew about this foe. The two addressed ponies graciously accepted the invitation and followed Phantasma to her glacial home. Cadence and Shining were shocked when they saw the enormous wall of ice that they were confronted with before Phantasma used the correct spell on her door causing it to swing open. Cadence's eye twitched when she saw the 'mess' that was present in the otherwise magnificent cavern. Phantasma guided the three ponies to the centre of the room, where her noticeboard was present. Shining Armor looked at the series of threads, pictures and notes intrigued by all of it. He then accepted that the red mare whom he had threatened was trustworthy, for now.
Phantasma noticed Shining's change in attitude towards her and smiled, she knew she had brought him round to trusting her; however she also knew that he was still unsure of her. Phantasma explained to the guests what all of the bits of paper and string meant, without missing a single detail as she knew how important her knowledge was to the other ponies in Equestria and to everypony's fate. If Phantasma doubted herself in any way she wasn't showing it, sharing her knowledge with the rulers
When she had finished explaining what she knew to her guests Phantasma asked if they would like any beverages or food of
Four of the five ponies who were listening intently were sat gazing at Twilight's brother, Pinkie on the other hoof was bouncing up and down as casually as she could without bursting into laughter. In the back rooms of the Ice Cave, Phantasma went through her stores to find several cakes missing, and her box of muffins was still out of the room. The last observation worried Phantasma as she didn't know where her favourite pony had gotten to, she hurriedly made the tea and sandwich before delivering them to Cadence. The red mare then asked the others if they had seen Derpy Hooves, at which the five ponies who had been with Derpy, while herself and Twilight had been out all said she had mentioned something about going to sleep before heading off down a random tunnel. Phantasma galloped to her bedroom and there was Derpy, asleep in her bed hith a half empty crate of muffins next to her. Phantasma approached Derpy before hugging her. Phantasma leaned in to give the pegasus a kiss in the cheek before leaving her to sleep for a while longer, but as her head closed in on Derpy's and her lips pursed, the grey muzzle rotated towards her and the yellow eyed pony pursed her lips as Phantasma's connected with her. Derpy opened her eyes and smiled cheekily.

Chapter 4...Forming a Plan
In the previous chapter; Phantasma was introduced to Twilight Sparkle's brother Shining Armor, and his wife Princess Cadence. The royal couple were surprised by Phantasma's sudden appearance and short speech as it implied hostility to the Princesses of Equestria. Phantasma then invited Twilight's siblings into her cave, where Cadence was shocked by the mess present in the otherwise grand cavern. When the rest of the mane six joined the small crowd they hastily bowed to the royal ponies after acknowledging their presence. Shining Armor explained how they had come to be here. Phantasma noticed Derpy Hooves wasn't around and questioned the mane six about where the grey pegasus had gone, at which the five ponies who were listening to Twilight's brother all said she mentioned something about going to sleep. Phantasma went into her bedroom to find Derpy asleep in her bed, with a half empty crate of muffins next to her. Phantasma leaned in to kiss Derpy on the cheek as Derpy turned her head. Derpy then opened her eyes and smiled.
Phantasma looked at Derpy in shock after what had just happened; Derpy on the other hand just looked at Phantasma smiling cheekily. The red mare started to freak out which confused Derpy as she thought the unicorn, who was so nice to her, loved her. Phantasma managed to bring herself round before asking Derpy why she did that.
Phantasma grabbed everypony's attention by banging her hoof on the central table. Everypony's head turned to face the red mare before the noise in the cave lessened to silence. Phantasma said "Ok everypony, we know as much about this as each other now. I think it is about time we turned this knowledge into a plan." At this everypony nodded muttering between themselves, besides Derpy who was too busy eating her muffins to talk.
Phantasma then said "Ok we have numerous locations plotted on the map; now all we need is a plan... I have a few ideas but they may not work."
Pinkie Pie, after hearing this plan jumped in shouting "That sounds like it could work let's do it, although I'm not sure where I come in."
Everypony else nodded and thus the plan was set, now all that needed doing was to teach Twilight, and her brother and sister the spell needed to capture the beast, the plan needed to be set up, and then carried out. It didn't seem like a lot needed to be done to Phantasma but she was mistaken. Phantasma went to her library to find five books open, all of them relating to the being running rampage around Equestria. She then went to her spell-book collection and found that she didn’t have the book she needed. To hopefully disprove this she looked in the book she had pulled out when she was showing Twilight around her library. To her dismay she couldn’t find the spell-book. She asked Twilight if she had the spell-book in her library. Twilight sullenly shook her head.
“Gosh darn it” thought Phantasma as she hurried into the Crystal Empire to see if she could find the book she needed. She burst into the Crystal Library, panting heavily and asked the librarian if they had any spell books. The unicorn’s heart soared as the Librarian said that they did have a variety of spell-books, and directed her to them. Phantasma frantically searched the stacks of books until she found the book she was looking for ‘Spells for the Magically Adept’. She asked the Librarian if she could borrow it. The Librarian agreed to this but said have it back in 30 moons. As Phantasma was rushing home it began to rain.

Chapter 5...Chocolate Milk Rain?
Previously; Phantasma Eeria, a red unicorn mare who lives a generally solitary life; Rainbow Dash, a light blue Pegasus whose dream is to join the Wonderbolts; Twilight Sparkle, a lavender alicorn who was tutored by Princess Celestia and now lives in the Ponyville Castle; Pinkie Pie, a pink earth pony who has a rather concerning addiction with sweets and cake; Rarity, a snow white unicorn who has a keen eye for fashion; Fluttershy, the canary yellow pegasus who is often found caring for an animal of some kind from her menagerie; Applejack, the orange earth pony who's apple orchard is remarkable; Spike, the baby dragon that is proud to be Twilight Sparkle's assistant; Princess Cadence, the princess responsible for all love in Equestria; and Prince Shining Armor, Cadence's husband and Twilight's brother; were coming up with a method of trapping the being running riot across Equestria, after they had formed their plan, Phantasma Eeria went out to find a book, on her way back it began to rain...
Phantasma hurried frantically back to her house to protect the book she had recently procured, as she reached her door the spell required to open the lock was ready so she could burst through the door with ease. The red mare leaped into the air, turned around, landed on her forehooves and bucked the door open. Everypony inside the cave jumped in shock to see their host acting like this, however when the door shut and Phantasma had regained her composure and adjusted her mane and tail so they were back to their former glory, they were pleased to see their host acting normally again.
When the mane six had finished reciting the story to of how they defeated Discord and Princess Luna's alter-ego Nightmare Moon, Phantasma nodded with understanding, and stood up only to fall back onto her flank as her hind-legs had gone numb. When she finally managed to stand up without falling over, she wandered over to her desk, levitated the book she had obtained from the library, and began reading. The book contained complicated processes that had to be performed to the letter for the spell to work, occassionally there would be a small picture showing how to perform the more difficult steps. eventually Phantasma was ready to attempt the spell. She closed her eyes and focused a large amount of energy into her horn before opening her eyes and letting a thread of magic protrude from her horn, she began to perform every step necessary with ease until she reached the first of the more difficult actions, by now she had several strands of magical fibre under her control. She weaved the first cross-strand over and under the other threads, making sure that it didnt touch any of the other strands as this was how it was depicted in the book.
In the end, Phantasma was left with a weave of magical fibres, none of which were touching. Finally she began the last step, she formed one final string which was larger than any of the others and joined it to the ends of the other fibres perpedicularly before pulling it outwards from all four sides and the cross-weaved strands began to join together. A few seconds later Phantasma was left with a magically formed mesh, which she dropped over Spike to test it. After Spike was completely enveloped in the mesh he was asked to try escape, after a few minutes of frantic struggling Spike was still stuck in the mesh. Phantasma used her magic to lift the mesh off of the dragon and asked him to try and rip it using whatever means he had at his disposal. The results of this was a perfectly intact mesh and an exhausted dragon, even Spike's dragon-fire was ineffective against it. After Phantasma had finished the tests Spike went to the library where most of the ponies were staying in magnificent beds.
Phantasma, after admiring her work, dispelled the mesh and proceeded to teach Shining Armor, Cadence, Rarity and Twilight the spell. She had no problems teaching the two alicorns how to cast the spell, she had a little trouble teaching Shining Armor how the spell was executed and had a lot of trouble teaching Rarity how to form the thread but had no problems teaching her how to weave it due to Rarity's profound talent for crafting clothing. After everypony who could cast the spell had mastered it to the best of their abilities they all began attempting to weave the mesh in unison to make it faster and stronger. After several attempts they had perfected making one mesh with four other ponies. Finally they were ready to set up the trap, all they needed was the location of the being, to learn the route, and to execute the plan. Spike came into the room, looked out of the window in the door and said "Is it just me or is that Chocolate Milk Rain?"

Chapter 6...Drinking Glass, Literally
Previously...
Phantasma told Spike that it was raining chocolate milk, at which Spike hurried to find a glass. Phanstasma shook her head and smiled and set off in the opposite direction to the baby dragon. Spike returned saying that he couldn't find a glass before being shocked when one was in his hand. The dragon looked around and saw everypony present shaking their heads saying that they hadn't put the glass in his hand. Phantasma emerged from behind Spike and told him that she had put the glass there. Spike laughed ad stuck the glass out of the door and filled it with the chocolate milk falling out of the clouds. When the glass had filled Spike put the glass to his lips and drank. Everypony in the room was watching ass the glass slowly disappeared leaving only the chocolate milk.
Spike thought this was odd but followed Phantasma's orders. Spike re-opened the door and tossed the milk out, upon impact with the ground the chocolate milk exploded catapulting snow everywhere. Twilight looked confused and asked Phantasma how she knew that that would happen, Phantasma told Twilight that before she had come to Equestria she had heard rumours about Discord and that he brought a whole new meaning to the words 'drinking glass'. Twilight agreed to this before asking what the next step in the plan was. Phantasma told Twilight that she needed to know where 'Discord' was Twilight said "I've been studying 'Discord's' activities and they all seem to be near markets and important elements of the city. This leads me to believe that his next attack will be near the Crystal Palace." Cadence looked worriedly at Phantasma who was wearing a reassuring smile and told the princess of love that they wouldn't let any damage come to her home. The unicorn thought to herself, "I don't want her home to be destroyed like mine was, then again it was me who destroyed it...damn magical outbursts."
Phantasma snapped out of her soliloquy and started to pace around the room. The unicorn was trying to come up with a way of finding the beast and leading it to the Crystal Palace, where the trap would be put into action. No matter how many times she passed the mane six, Spike, and the royal couple, Phantasma just couldn't think of anything. She began to doubt herself and wondered whether she was losing her touch, but quickly erased any doubts as she knew how much she had accomplished in a few days. Phantasma went over what she had done thus far, with each action that she had thought of Phantasma felt her self-confidence rising as they weren’t feats of a nopony they were feats that very few could achieve. She then remembered that she had a dragon and eight skilled ponies with her, and a pegasus that Phantasma hoped would become her special somepony.
Phantasma asked the guests whether they had any thoughts as to how they were going to find Discord as she had no clue whatsoever. Phantasma was bombarded with ideas some good some bad and a few brilliant ones. Eventually she settled on one, or a combination of a few. She took Applejack's idea of splitting up, Pinkie Pie's idea of shooting a signal into the air if the find Discord and Twilight's idea of using a different signal for everypony. Phantasma then suggested the use of fireworks with everypony's cutie mark as the signal. Her guests nodded in approval, and Phantasma went off to search her library for a book about making fireworks. She came back with a brown leather covered book with a firework embossed into the front.
Phantasma opened the book and flipped though the pages until she found a page on shaped fireworks and decided to make them. She gathered the materials she needed, which mainly consisted of gunpowder and several different metals and dyes. She went into another backroom and started combining the materials she had gathered until she had a considerable amount of fireworks each with one of nine shapes. She brought the fireworks into the main room and distributed them between her and her friends. She then decided that they should gather up some equiptment and call it a night before they go out. Phantasma showed everypony where they would be staying with Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity in their own rooms, Twilight and Spike sharing a room and Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor sharing a room. Phantasma then retreated back into her own room and smiled as she saw Derpy Hooves curled up under the covers with an empty muffin crate next to her.
Phantasma lifted up the quilt and slid under, cuddling up to Derpy and smiled and closed her eyes and started to fall asleep. When she woke up, Phantasma was face to face with Derpy. Derpy hooves slowly opened her eyes, smiled and kissed Phantasma and then looked at her smiling cutely. Phantasma smiled and kissed Derpy back before asking her if she wanted any breakfast.

Chapter 7...Location, Location, Location (Part 1 of 2)
Previously, after everypony had discovered and taken advantage of the chocolate rain that was raining down on Equestria, due to the chaos enveloping the world, Spike brought out a single glass and tried to drink the milk from it, however instead of the milk level dropping, the glass disappeared from top to bottom. Phantasma Eeria saw this and ordered Spike to throw the milk away, upon doing so the milk exploded and everypony was advised not to drink the rain from any form of glass. Afterwards the ponies occupying the ice cave formed a plan and got to work on making everything necessary to carry it out. Then when everything was ready, the ponies went to bed as they had a long day ahead of them.
Phantasma awoke to see Derpy Hooves awake and eating from a new crate of muffins. Light from the lamp beside the bed was illuminating the room, while giving it a joyful ambience. There was a knock at the door and Rainbow Dash burst through the door, shouting that something had happened. Phantasma lept out of her bed and hurried after the blue pegasus. When she got to the main room she saw several fireworks emptied out onto the floor.
Pinkie Pie hopped into the room as casually as ever and started rambling on about a dream she had where she ate a lot of cake, meanwhile Applejack was making some daisy sandwiches for everypony and Twilight was reading several books trying to find a spell to make locating 'Discord' easier. Much to Twilight's despair, the books she was scouring had no information whatsoever.
Phantasma wandered around the room before Applejack tapped her on the back and gave Phantasma her sandwich. Rainbow Dash put on her shades, and casually flew aournd eating her sandwich. Phantasma looked back over at Pinkie Pie and saw her chewing her own tail, so Phantasma decided to break the tension by clapping her forehooves together and saying "OK then, now that our hungers have been satisfied, and everything is ready, it is time to start looking for 'Discord'."
The mane six, Cadence, Shining Armor and Phantasma Eeria then went out through the front door and began their investigation into the location of thr transformed Discord.

Sorry for the late and shortened chapter guys, I've been having several issues, writers block, a member of my family sadly passing away and me completely forgetting about it on several occasions however it is here now, the next chapter will be at least 1500 words long to make up for the lack of length in this chapter
