Chapter 1
Today.. Was a good day. I woke up at 5:30 AM for my daily routine. Shower for school, head out to my bus-stop at 6:40 AM, get picked up, listen to my music and ignore all the idiots that reside on my bus, dropped off at school, go to all my classes, leave school and get home -- repeating the morning process, just in the afternoon -- to go on my computer.
Over a March break I became, what the internet refers to as, ‘A Brony’. A guy who likes, or loves, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The show is amazing. After the first episode I was enthralled and fell in love! It really popped out at me. All the characters. Twilight Sparkle, AppleJack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Spike, Pinkie Pie -- who I clearly think is insane and a slightly crazy bitch -- and the best of all.. Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash is my character. I love her. How extroverted she is, how wild and free she can be, how much loyalty she shows and how much she just loves… Showing off. I enjoy it. She reminds me of me. I like to show off a bit and try to be a top-of-the-line friend for everyone. I really do care about all my friends. I don’t care if they know I’m a Brony or not. I just love doing what I do.
Well, today is Tuesday, April 9th, 2012. I got home and did what I usually did: got on the computer and read some Fan-Fictions along with looking at a lot of Brony/Pegasister memes -- Pegasister being the female version of a Brony -- along with talking to other Bronies.
Unfortunately it’s a weekday, which means, I have to go to bed. As the clock struck 10 PM I grew tired and saddened. I don’t like heading off to bed when I’m enriched with happiness and joy. I do dream about My Little Pony, though. I don’t care if that seems weird, or not, it gets me to sleep. I mean.. I do take pills to over-come how sleep deprived I used to be and how I use to be an emotional wreck. I wasn’t always this happy.
I use to want to kill myself. I found myself .. Useless. A waste of space. I felt I wasn’t needed and that the world wouldn’t recognize if I was gone or not. I was proved wrong when a friend called the police to help me. I’m glad that happened. It really changed me. The Brony community helps a lot too. I enjoy having the cheery guys and gals around me. It brings a smile to my face.
As I went to sleep that night I was warmly tucked in and the temperature of the room was a little chilly, not unusual, I like it like this; kind of like the ‘cool side of the pillow’. My alarm was set for 5:30 and I drifted off asleep. To the land of the ponies again.
My dreams are usually the same: just some random adventure I have with my favourite Pegasus: Rainbow Dash. We learn lessons about friendship and tell Princess Celestia about it all. But all good things come to an end as my alarm clock blared its loud, air-raid like, horn.
I woke up, smacked the stupid button on it, and rubbed my eyes. I looked around and saw that it was darker than normal in my room. The alarm is usually illuminating it beyond belief but now it wasn’t. And usually the light, from the recent daylight savings time, helps illuminate my room. It smelled odd, too. I mean it doesn’t smell of its usual candy-filled sweetness. Got to love candy. It smelled of sap and cat fur. I stood up in my Peter Griffon pyjama’s -- I love Family Guy, too -- and felt moist grass under the soles of my feet.
“Grass..?” I said to myself looking down at the grassy ground.
This is strange. I’ve never seen this happen. Was it still a dream? I really don’t know what’s going on.
“Mom…? Dad…? Micheal?” I called out to my family, hoping for an answer, and all I get was a call from birds. And a growl of a large lion behind me.
I turned and saw to my horror a large lion-scorpion cross of a beast. A Manticore.
“I.. I… Uhmm..” I slowly backed up, worried, for that it might eat me or something.
It hissed and growl, crushing my bed, moving forward.
“Nice.. Kitty.. I.. Uhmm..” As I spoke, it roared, and swatted its large scorpion tail to my side, smacking me towards a tree and my foot broke the impact. Breaking my ankle.
“OW! FUCK!!” I yelled and whimpered.
The Manticore drew closer. This wasn’t a dream. It was a nightmare.
“Please! I’m sorry! What did I do?! Just.. Let me leave! PLEASE!” I yelled and pleaded the Manticore. It stared and sniffed me.
“I’ll leave! Just.. Let me leave. I won’t come back. I’m sorry…” I whimpered, some more, and was looking it in the eyes now.
Finally, it understood, the Manticore pointed to the exit of its home; to a large grassy outcrop. I slowly stood up, leaning against the tree, and hopped forward to the outcrop. The Manticore watched me for at least 10 minutes until I exited the area. I fell on a yellow-gravel pathway.
“Ow… My.. Ankle..” I cried lightly. This was the most pain I’ve ever felt. I never broke a bone in my life.
“Someone… Please.. Help…” I whimpered out to the air. It responded with a grassy wind and whistled lightly.
“Please!” I yelled out. The yelling vibrated my bones and made the pain worse. Tears were dripping down my pyjama top. The blood slowly seeped out of the small open wound on the broken point of my ankle.
I removed my sock, very slowly and gently, to look at the injury. The bone was out of place. Didn’t seem like it was fractured. One small hit of it and it might go back to its original position. Or worse.
I loved biology but, this was too much, I don’t know how to start to re-align a ligament or a bone. I’ve only read about it. I couldn’t take the chance. So I collapsed and tried to sleep it off. Hoping someone might come to help me.
Chapter 2
The ground was hard, cold, and every-which-way uncomfortable. I obviously woke up for what felt like an hour. I was surprisingly dirty. But, then again, I was smacked against a fucking tree and had a bone out of place. The wound wasn’t severe, though. Just the bone out of place. I sat up and started to yell again.
“Hello?! Anyone hear me?!” I looked around. Nothing. The grassy plain didn’t even show a town, let alone people, for what seemed like millions of miles.
“It’s hopeless.. I’m…” I sighed, looking at my ankle.
“I won’t get anywhere unless I snap it. But I don’t know how! God! I wish I knew how! Where are my books when I need them?… Where is my family?.. My friends..” I cried into my hands. For several minutes, or what seemed like hours, I sat there, looking at the gravel and dirt. A breeze or two brushed through my brown hair and dried some of my tears. And then I heard a crash.
I looked around, and started yelling again.
“Hello?! Anyone there?! Please! I need help!” I looked around, shifting, slowly turning in a circle so that I don’t put pressure on my ankle.
I saw something blue at the corner of my eye flash into a cloud. It looked like..
“Hello?! Please! I need help! My ankle is broken! Please…!” I cried out, looking all around for whatever I saw. As I looked more, this placed seemed familiar. The green grass, large mountains, beautiful flowers, marshmallow like clouds, and a dark dense forest of what seemed like something out of a horror movie. I couldn’t quite process what it was. But it seemed vaguely familiar.
But, then, something dropped down behind me and started to sniff my hair. I jumped and cried as I put pressure on my ankle.
“Owww!” Tears streamed down my face as I cried and the ’something’ spoke in a womanly raspy tone.
“Ohmigosh! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you! I heard yelling and I came as fast as I could.” The woman-voice said. I had my eyes cringed but I heard her move in front of me.
“My ankle.. It’s..” I opened my eyes. My grey eyes lightly reddened with stress and so much crying. I looked up and saw something astonishing. A sky-blue Pegasus with a rainbow mane.
“It’s broken! Ohmigosh!” She dipped her head looking at it. She slowly pressed herself on the ground, placing her hooves at each side of my foot.
“A.. A-are you a .. Pegasus?” I asked. The pain didn’t seem relevant. Was this who I think it was?
“Yes, I am. The best flier in Ponyville, too!” She exclaimed with amazing prowess. She also seemed very confident in that.
“P.. Pony..?” my mouth went agape. I couldn’t believe it. Am I in..
“So.. I.. W.. Who are you?” I asked.
“I’m Rainbow Dash! But, that’s not important. You’re hurt and I need to fix that ankle.” She said, looking at my ankle.
“I.. I don’t want to try and snap it back in place.. I’m worried that I might make it worse..” I said, trying to contain all my excitement. Rainbow Dash. The best pony, to me, ever! My idol in the pony world!
“I know a thing or two about snapping my bones back together. This… Will hurt a lot.” Her rose-y eyes lightly brought a sparkling smile. It took my mind completely off the pain.
“So, you are?” Rainbow Dash asked. But, before I could answer, I yelled in pain as she quickly snapped my ankle back into place.
“OWWWW! FUCK!” I yelled and winced.
“Ohmigosh! I’m sorry! I really am! I just had to do it with you off-guard..” Rainbow Dash moved closer, looking into my grey eyes.
“It’s.. Okay.. I’m.. It’s feeling better now..” I said, wiping my eyes of tears.
“I’m Carl… I.. This.. Where am I?” I answered her previous question and inquired where I was.
“This is Equestria. You must be.. Uhm.. A homo-sabien.. Or whatever?” Rainbow Dash looked at me, up and down, and probably figured that out by my hands.
“Uhm.. Yeah..” I answered. I’m surprised Rainbow Dash, an athletic and physically smart pony, would know such a word.
“How.. Did you get here? I mean.. Twilight -- my friend -- always spoke how ’It’s impossible to have a human in Equestria!’.” She imitated Twilight quite well. She folded her mane into what looked like a rainbow-unicorn horn and pranced around like she was reading a book.
I laughed lightly. It was pretty funny and helped ease my mind a bit.
“I.. Don’t know. I just went to sleep in my bed last night and woke up to a Manticore smashing me into a tree. Breaking my ankle.” Rainbow Dash shook her head as I gave my response.
“C’mon, let’s get you to my friend Fluttershy. She can help you rest.” Rainbow Dash gave me a nice smile, fluttering lightly upward with her wings and helping me stand.
“Carl, right?” She asked and I nodded. I lightly hopped with my arm wrapped around her neck. It was brushing against her mane and it felt like I was brushing a newborn puppies fur. It was really soft.
“Well, I promise to help you. Whatever it takes.” Rainbow Dash brought me forward, slowly, and we headed off in the direction of what I assumed was ’Fluttershy’s’ house.

“Is.. She always this quiet?” I said, sitting on the edge of a .. Very uncomfortable chair.
“She’s just shy.. It’s her nature.” Rainbow Dash said, poking Fluttershy who was hiding behind her light pink mane.
“Fluttershy, pretend he’s a monkey!” Rainbow Dash giggled lightly and Fluttershy revealed her cyan eyes.
“He’s a monkey?” She said, looking over at me. I just went along with it. I’m only a highly evolved monkey.
“Yeah, think of him like a monkey. Who can talk.” Rainbow Dash moved closer to me, sitting her rump near my left foot.
“And this monkey has a bad ankle?” Fluttershy moved close to my right ankle, which was my broken one, and is now examining it.
“Yeah. Poor Carl the Monkey was attacked my a Manticore.” Rainbow Dash kept this little charade going. I just laughed in my mind about it.
“Poor little Carl. I’ll make you feel better in no-time. I promise.” Fluttershy gave me a smile and propped her two hooves on my knees.
“How old are you, Carl?” She asked. Was unusual, but I answered.
“Fifteen. I’m turning sixteen in October.” I was looking mostly as Rainbow Dash’s expression as she was making faces behind Fluttershy. I couldn’t help but chuckle lightly.
“What’s funny?” She turned around and Rainbow Dash quickly stood there whistling.
“Rainbow.. That’s not nice.” Fluttershy made a light whisper.
“I’m kidding around. Sorry.” Rainbow Dash said. I kept chuckling though.
“I would love to take care of him.. But I have no more room. I can give him some ointment. But maybe you should talk to Twilight? She has plenty of space.” Fluttershy went to her kitchen quickly and came out with a small blue bottle. She went to my right ankle and tipped the bottle. A light green liquid spread across my foot. It stung, like alcohol would if it came in contact with an infected wound, and then it eventually faded away. Must be some sort of magical ointment.
“There. That should help you walk Carl.” She smiled looking at me.
“Thanks.” I said, standing up. It felt a lot better.
“C’mon. I’ll bring you to Twilight’s place.” Rainbow Dash slowly fluttered next to me.
“Come back and visit!” Fluttershy yelled as we waved and left.
We walked over the small bridge and out onto the road. Well, Rainbow Dash flew lightly next to me, I walked.
“So tell me about yourself, Carl.” Rainbow Dash asked. I didn’t think of her one to care.
“Uhm.. Well.. I come from a place called ’Earth’. It’s roamed by mostly 6,428,822,900 human beings. The rest is filled with animals, plant life, and aquatic life. It’s getting cramped and times are hard there. With war and what-not.” I put my hands into my pyjama pockets. They were really dirty.
“War? That sounds awful.” Rainbow Dash lowered herself down to the ground. Now that I’m standing, I could see that she was almost as tall as me. Me, being short, standing at five-foot-one and her probably standing at about four-foot-seven.
“Yeah.. Economic crises too. Murder, rape, et cetera. It’s horrible. But.. I have hope. The world may turn to shadow but, eventually, it’ll become a ball of light within darkness.” I looked over at Rainbow Dash. She didn’t seem to be philosophical with me, but she understood.
“Wow. That sounded pretty uplifting.” She clicked forward as I continued.
“Yeah. I like poetry. Was always into it. Shakespeare inspired me a little. Along with a lot of musical artists. I assume you .. Ponies have them too?” I already knew it was a ‘yes’ seeing the episode where; Rarity had to collect gems to make twelve outfits for a famous artist who was visiting Ponyville.
“Yup! But not many of them are good. I like Vinyl Scratch, personally. She has a knack for spinning records.” Rainbow Dash lightly laughed, and her mane flipped gently over her right eye. She blew it out of the way. I found that kind of cute.
“What other things do you like?” She asked.
“Well.. I like.. Uhm.. Watching television.. Going on the… Internet. Things you haven’t heard of. My world is different. Not so peaceful like it seems here.” I went on as she didn’t ask what the things were. I was glad, cause I was lightly going ’red-faced’. I have trouble talking to girls.
“Uhm.. I mostly like to write stories, too. I mean, I’ve written one so far. Some people like it. But then again, not everyone is great at everything. I just want to be recognized for some sort of work. Also, I --” But then it hit me. I just remembered. Every morning I take my pills that help me stay happy at this time. I don’t have them.
“Oh no! My.. My pills!” I panicked.
“Your pills? What pills?” Rainbow Dash looked at me, as I started to frantically look in my pockets, hoping I brought something.
“I take pills to help fight off depression. They make me happy and I don’t have them here!” Rainbow Dash looked at me with a confused expression.
“Happy pills?.. Depression?..” I stopped when she said that. I just revealed something I don’t like talking about.
“Uhm.. You know.. It’s not that big of a deal. Let’s just go.” I paced forward, a bit faster now, and started to trot close to Ponyville.
“Hey, wait!” She flew in front of me.
“You can’t keep secrets from a girl, you know! C’mon, tell me!” She pressed her mussel against my nose.
“I really don’t like talking about it. Please, Rainbow, I just.. Another time, okay? I promise. I doubt I’m leaving soon anyways.” I sincerely looked at her, hoping she’d let this go. To my dismay, she didn’t.
“Oh no you don’t! One of my friends did something like this to me and then I had to chase her down to get the truth! C’mon, tell me!” She gave a kind of cute puppy-like-eyes expression.
“Okay.. If you promise to keep it a secret.” I looked at her, trying not to lose my composure.
“Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!” She did the gestures of the Pinkie Pie Swear. I lightly smiled.
“I take pills to help fight off depression. Depression is a form of sadness that brings thoughts of suicide. Suicide is wanting to harm oneself to such an extent that you’ll kill yourself. I only take them because I want to live, after having a friend convince me that living is what matters. The pills produce a chemical called serotonin. Serotonin is what makes anyone happy.” I explained thoroughly. She amazingly understood.
“You mean it’s like being really sad, but you want to.. Never be alive? And the .. Pills help make you happier?” She asked in a laymen context.
“Yes.. That’s the gist of it.” I answered.
“Well.. Uhm.. I’m sorry. I promise not to tell anypony.” She looked at me with a sincere look. I didn’t know her outside of the show. But she had the aura of trustworthiness in her. I started to trust her. Maybe a bit too much.. But.. She was my favourite pony.
“Okay. Well.. Uhm.. This is Ponyville?” I asked as we finally entered the town. The tree in which Twilight was residing was just down the road.
“Yup! This is Ponyville. Our wonderful little town!” She hung out a hoof, pointing to the entire town, and the town just stared at me.
“Uhm.. They’re giving me funny looks.” I whispered softly into Rainbow Dash’s ear.
“Well, I was shocked when I saw you too. It’ll wear off. Let’s go!” She started to trot to Twilight’s house. I only followed behind her as everyo-- Err.. Everypony was staring at me.
Chapter 4
“Wow, this is amazing!” The lavender coloured pony was looking at my entire body, gently prodding me with her hoof.
“Uhm.. Yeah..” Rainbow Dash was brushing the back of her neck. This was an awkward situation.
“A human! This is just perfect! I have to learn everything from you!” Twilight’s eyes glowed as she looked into my grey eyes.
“Uhm.. Well, Twilight, we’re here to see if he could stay here. His ankle was hurt and he needs a place to stay. He can’t stay in my cloud home because he’s.. Well.. Not a Pegasus.” Rainbow Dash was beside Twilight now and Twilight was nodding excitedly.
“Oh, yes! I’ll have him stay here! It’ll be perfect! I just need to arrange a bed for him and we’ll be all set.” Twilight looked at me.
“Oh, sorry, who are you?” She calmed down a bit when she asked this.
“Carl. My name is Carl.” I answered. Twilight smiled.
“Nice to meet you, Carl.” Twilight turned back to Rainbow Dash.
“Alright, I’ll look after Carl for you, Rainbow Dash.” Rainbow Dash smiled and looked at me.
“I’ll check up on you later, Carl. I kind of want to talk more about.. Y’know.” I knew what she meant. But.. Why did she want to talk about it?
I nodded and she then waved to Twilight soaring right out the telescope’s window.
“So, Carl, what can you tell me about your world?” Twilight started.
I explained in full detail about the war Earth is enduring, the raping, the murders, the catastrophe, the global warming, economic crises. Everything that was horrible.
“That’s awful! How could anyp--.. Anyone do such a thing?” Twilight looked deep into my eyes.
“I know. But.. I just.. Don’t think of it. I hav--.. I had my friends. My family. They cared about me and wouldn’t let anything harm me. I also relied on the music I listened to. It calmed me, it saddened me, it made me happy. I enjoy being around those who care a lot and aren’t such a .. Negative Nancy.” I looked at Twilight’s unicorn horn. I saw it lightly glowing and a book floated right in front of me.
“Sorry, I just had to grab this.” She flipped it open. It was a Dictionary. I saw the words ‘Negative Nancy’ pop up.
“Somepony who is always putting other ideals or ponies dreams down…” She said aloud.
“Sorry.. I just.. Don’t like feeling stupid.” Twilight sighed and closed the book.
“You’re obviously not stupid, Twilight. The fact that you’re.. Interested in what I have to say requires some degree of intelligence. I mean..” I brushed my hair. It was.. Kind of dirt still. I could use a shower.
“I like to talk about things others don’t. I love poetry, art, music. I mean, I wouldn’t perform in front of a crowd or write lyrics, but I would want to draw, listen to music and recite poetry or ’quotes’, as I’ve called them, to people.” Twilight looked at me in awe.
“You know poetry? Can you.. Saw something that you humans recite?” I couldn’t help but oblige to Twilight’s request.
“There’s obstacles in life that we face. Whether it be a rock, a person or a broken bridge, we face them. Hard, small, big or easy. It’s an obstacle. But, what everyone needs to realise is this: go over, go under, go around, or go through. But, never give up.” I finished with a bit of a blush. Twilight just smiled.
“I’m impressed. That’s quite amazing!” She started to float a quill and parchment over to the Dictionary. She wrote everything I said.
“Are you writing it down?” I asked.
“Of course! It’s amazing. Why wouldn’t anypony who’s interested in literature not write it down?” she exclaimed and wrote down every word. Must have audio-memory, or something.
“Thanks.. I think.. Uhm.. I kind of want to lay down.. I’ve.. Been kind of wondering what’s been going on. How I got here.. It seems like a dream come true..” I covered my mouth as I said the last part.
“A dream come true..?” Twilight looked at me in curiosity. I couldn’t hide it now.
“Uhg.. Back on Earth, .. Well.. There’s.. This show called.. Uhm… My.. Little Pony..” I quickly and quietly said the last part.
“My Little what?” She asked.
“My .. Little Pony. It’s.. A show. Where.. You all uhm.. All of you ponies are in it. It’s really a cartoon. The fact that I’m here seems like a dream. I already knew who all of you were.” I looked at her, being 100 percent honest, now.
“Wait, you humans know who we are? And made a .. ’Show’ about us?” She looked at me and I nodded.
“Wow! That’s soooo cool!” She smiled.
“Wait, you don’t find that weird?” I asked.
“Yeah! If you humans know of who we are, you must’ve visited Equestria before!” Twilight was frantically writing this down.
I let her think that, and stood up.
“I’m going to rest.. Where’s.. A bed?” Twilight stood up and lead me upstairs, pointing her hoof at the guest bed. It was small, but big enough for me. Thankfully being short comes in handy sometimes.
I laid down on the bed and got comfortable. I think I immediately fell asleep. I wasn’t too sure. I just remember it being a good sleep. I was in Equestria. A Bronies dream….
Chapter 5
“Hey!” I woke up with Rainbow Dash’s bright blue face in mine.
“Jesus! You scared me!” I exclaimed, jumping lightly.
“Jesus? It’s Rainbow Dash, silly.” She giggled as I sat up.
“What’re you doing here, Rainbow?” I asked, looking into her .. Beautiful rose-y trimmed eyes.
“What else? I told you I’d check up on you.” Rainbow Dash giggled and looked brightly into my grey eyes. She seemed very enthusiastic about seeing me.
“What has you so excited?” I asked her. Initially I’d expect her to be out looping around and doing barrel rolls. Not in here with me.
“Well.. Today I was wondering if you’d like to watch me perform some new tricks? All my friends are bu--”
“Wait, I slept for an entire day?” I exclaimed, interrupting her, worried.
“Yeah, but, it doesn’t matter though. Anyways, my friends are busy and you’re the only one I know who might want to.. Uhm.. Hang out.” She started brushing the back of her neck with her hoof neverously.
“Well.. I will once I get a fresh pair of--”
“Here you are!” She threw clothes in my face; interrupting me.
“How did yo--”
“Well you had dirty .. Uhm.. Pyjamas yesterday.. So I took the liberty of.. Maybe.. A tiny bit of.. Looking at the size of them and getting some made for you!” She interrupted me again. I looked at the clothes. Denim blue jeans with a bright blue shirt.
“Well, let me get dressed, then.” I stood up, sliding off the bed, and felt a breeze. It was pretty cold. I had a strange feeling. All I heard was giggling behind me. I looked down and realised my..
“Oh dear God!” I quickly wrapped blankets around me and Rainbow Dash busted out laughing.
“Rainbow!” I yelled at her.
“Oh..! That’s rich! Hahaha! I didn’t know humans’ behinds looked like that!” She laughed hysterically.
“Rainbow, that’s not funny.” I said. The comment made me worried whether or not I was good looking. I mean she is a Pegasus. But it still makes me wonder..
“I’m sorry. Go get dressed, please.” She smiled. The thought bugged me though. Maybe keep it for later.
After about twenty minutes of getting dressed, in a very small bathroom space, me and Dash went out to a large clearing. There was a beautiful, glimmering, blue lake and a vast amount of flowers. Daisies, roses, tulips; you name it!
“Alright, here we are! My home away from home!” Rainbow Dash started flying about. I watched her and sat in a small patch of grass. I respected their environment and didn’t really want to harm the flowers. They were relatively gorgeous.
“Hey! Watch this!” She yelled in the air as I looked up.
She ascended about, what I’d say to be, 100 feet and then descended. She swished past a large area of flowers and me. The peddles of the flowers broke off and it made a beautiful rainbow-like swirl. Unfortunately my hair was now all messed up. Not saying it was beautiful to begin with.
“Hehe!” Rainbow Dash was giggling as I fixed my hair.
“Having fun?” I looked up to meet Rainbow Dash’s rose-y eyes. She nodded.
“It’s always fun. Too bad you can’t fly, though.” She lowered herself next to me.
“Back on Earth, we have airplanes to fly. Large machines built to travel amazing distances and hold aerodynamic properties. You’re probably faster than our airplanes, though.” I said. Scratch that, though. She is faster than an airplane.
She just giggled and took off again. She did a lot of barrel rolls and eventually started piercing the clouds. I enjoyed watching her. Her mane flowing into the wind. Her elegant figure defying the laws of physics themselves. Her existing just bringing joy to my heart. She truly was my idol at this point. Everything she was doing appeared to me in a sparkle haze, like you would see in some anime where a guy is staring at a girl and getting heart shaped eyes.

“Hey! We have a storm coming in! We better head out of here!” Rainbow Dash pointed to large clouds being moved in by a few weather pegasi.
I nodded and sat up, jogging lightly to Ponyville. Rainbow Dash was by my side in seconds.
As we entered Twilight’s house, the rain started to fall and beat heavily on the tree. It scared most of the citizen’s of ponyville, seeing that normally they’re well informed of a storm. It must’ve been some order by Celestia, or something.
“Whew. Close one.” Rainbow Dash shook herself of some rain that did catch us as we entered. She was shivering too.
“Yeah..” I walked over to a couch that Twilight had laid out. Must be for me, because that wasn’t there before.
I sat down and Rainbow Dash hopped up next to me. The couch was getting lightly damp, but she was still shivering. It was starting to bother me.
“Rainbow, are you okay? You look cold.” I asked.
“I.. I’m fine. It’s nothing.” She said, smiling gingerly.
“Rainbow, hypothermia can take limbs off. I can see you shivering. Would you like a blanket?” I asked her.
“Okay.. Yeah. Please?” Rainbow Dash blushed lightly.
I stood up and went up to the bed I was sleeping in. I ripped off the covers and walked back downstairs. After I arrived back at the couch, I handed her the white blanket. Rainbow Dash quickly wrapped herself in it as I sat down next to her.

Chapter 6
“So, what exactly do you do back on Earth?” Twilight asked.
“I go to school. I was planning on going to University after I graduated high school. See, on Earth, schools are different. We go to school half our lives to get a good job. We don’t just get a cutie mark that proves our talent.” I explained to Twilight.
“Hrm..” Twilight was pondering on my words.
“Sounds boring. I hated school.” Rainbow Dash said.
“You wouldn’t get anywhere in the human world. There’s a lot of people who use it to their advantage. Where I come from, we call these people ‘skids’. Ones who choose to do drugs and alcohol and waste their time and taxpayers dollars.” I crossed my arms. This was my true opinion on the matter.
“Taxpayers?” Twilight and Rainbow Dash’s heads cocked lightly.
“Well, we pay our government taxes so that our country has money to support everyone. The country I live in has free health care. But that’s because we pay a big tax amount. It’s about equality. In some countries, they barely have those rights.” I had a grim expression cross my face when I said that.
“So, you’re a.. Democratic society? That’s interesting. It makes sense, though. I’m very intrigued by your race, Carl.” Twilight smiled and couldn’t help but pull down a camera from a shelf.
“Mind if I take a picture? I want to make sure I remember you. In case you do leave.” I nodded when she asked. The picture flashed and Rainbow Dash made a funny face when it did. I was just smiling.
“Thanks.” Twilight floated the camera back onto a shelf near her, and started back up again.
“Well, do you have any friends back on Earth?” Twilight gave a weird expression to this. Like she thought I was a loner!
“Of course I do. They’re really good friends, too. Like, my friend Scott, always makes me laugh. My best friends Alex and Dylan make me cheery and can hold an intellectual conversation.” I went on to explain some of the many friends I had.
“Wow. Your life must be cool!” Rainbow Dash said. ‘Cool’ is an overstatement. My life seemed boring until I came here. Here I fit in.. But I worry.. A lot about home.
“Yeah.. Sorta..” I made a little white lie, so that they wouldn’t know.
“Why, look at the time! We should go and get some rest. Hopefully the rain will clear by tomorrow.” Twilight stood up, along with me and Rainbow Dash, and we walked up the stairs to be greeted by Spike snoring.
“Shhh..” Twilight said as she crawled into her bed slowly. Me and Dash tip-toed past spike and I went on the right side of the bed, Dash on the left.

“I don’t like the crust anyways. I just tear it off.” I said, looking down at it as I ate my apple. It looked delicious, but was too hot for the likes of my mouth.
“You’ll have to wait for it to cool. Until then, why not eat some healthy things before chomping into it?” Twilight said, floating a bowl of what seemed to be a garden salad without the dressing.
“I guess I could go for some greens.” I took the bowl and started to pick out the leafy greens inside. Seeing as I wasn’t given a fork, I guess it wouldn’t be un-netiquette for me to eat this way.
“At least humans are omnivores. Can’t eat meat in Equestria.” Rainbow Dash said, giggling lightly. That giggle was starting to sound.. Err.. Never the mind.
I just nodded, eating the greens. I hated the cherry tomatoes, though. Gross little things. Can’t handle them.
“So, what are we going to do today?” I asked through a few chews. As polite as I could.
“Well, I have to go help Zecora. I guess you two are on your own again.” Twilight said, floating her saddle-bag over onto her back.
“I’ll see you two tonight.” She opened the door and left.
“Uhm.. Okay..?” I looked at the door, finishing off my chews.
“Meh. I had an idea in mind. Have you ever pulled any pranks?” Rainbow Dash fluttered upwards, looking at me.
“Yeah, a few times. Why?” I asked, looking at her. Is this another episode of pulling pranks?

Chapter 7

“At least everyone can take a joke.” I grinned lightly over to Dash.

“Yeah..” I sighed lightly, looking at my feet, my smile going away.
