The Royal Patients

The next morning arrived and just as expected, shortly after they opened their first two patients arrived. Unlike with other patients where Lyra would just take them back, Colgate herself was waiting in the lobby. Their first patients were Princess Luna and Princess Celestia. Celestia ran up to Colgate and hugged her. She said, "It is so good to see you! How is everything going?"

Colgate smiled and replied, "Things are going quite well."

Luna interrupted, "Oh, do we not get a warm welcome?"

Colgate ran up to Luna and hugged her. "Hi your Majesty, how is your day treating you?"

Luna replied, "Things are going quite alright. So who goes back first, myself or my sister?"

Pinkamena typed some things into the computer and said, "Well it looks like Princess Luna gets to go back first."

Colgate motioned for Luna to follow her to the back. Unlike with other patients, Colgate examined her before Lyra had a chance to. Colgate examined the princess's teeth and found nothing out of the ordinary. She then placed the bite meter in her mouth and said, "Bite down as hard as you can until it becomes painful."

Luna bit down hard. She bit down so hard that it broke the meter. At first Colgate had a scowl on her face. Luna had a nervous look on her face. She asked, "We're so sorry Colgate. You aren't mad at us are you?"

Colgate broke down into a joyous laugh. She replied, "Oh goodness no your Majesty. It's just that I've never seen anypony bite down so hard that she broke it."

Luna said, "Don't worry Colgate, we can get you another one."

Colgate replied, "Don't worry about it. I have a couple spares." She paused for a minute and continued, "Oh, and you have absolutely perfect teeth, probably better than mine."

Luna sighed in relief, "We are most happy, but we are worried that our sister may not get the same result."

Colgate asked, "Why do you say that?"

Luna replied, "Well she quit brushing and is eating more sweets than ever."

Colgate rolled her eyes and said, "Well come on your Majesty, let's get you checked out and get your sister back here."

Colgate headed back out to the front and got Celestia. Despite her being so happy to see the dentist she was a bit apprehensive when it came to getting in the chair. Colgate asked, "Your Majesty, you seem so nervous. You know I have that spell if you need any dental work done."

Celestia gulped, "I know."

Celestia opened her mouth and Colgate started to examine her. Colgate was not pleased with what she saw. She saw that not only did Celestia have three cavities, but that she had the worst infection in her gums that she had ever seen. She just stood there by her patient and shook her head.

Celestia asked, "Uh, I take it the results are not good?"

Colgate replied, "Your sister told me about how you quit brushing. Why did you quit brushing?"

Celestia said, "Well after a while I thought that since I am an Alicorn that I didn't need to brush anymore. I thought everything would be just fine." She began to frown and asked, "Colgate, my upper left tooth is hurting. Do you have anything to ease the pain?"

Colgate took a closer look. The one that was hurting was the one she had performed the root canal on. Even worse, it was rotting. Colgate growled, "Celestia, the tooth I performed the root canal on is rotting." She shook her head and said, "I go to all that work to perform a pain free root canal for you and then you let it rot? I am very disappointed in you." Colgate sighed and continued, "Yes I can give you something to alleviate the pain."

Colgate gave Celestia an injection of a stronger sedative that would at least make it to where she would barely be able to walk and definitely not be able to fly. She wanted to make sure that when she took her out to say goodbye to Luna that her sister could clearly see the state that she was in.

On the surface Colgate was about to explode but on the inside she was already imagining how she would punish her royal patient. She growled, "You know what Celestia? You are going to have to go to the dental hospital in Fillydelphia that handles potentially fatal infections. Let's go out to the front so you can say goodbye to your sister before you leave.

Colgate led a staggering Celestia out to the front. Luna saw this and asked, "Colgate what is wrong with our sister? What did you do to her?"

Colgate replied, "Princess Luna, she has a potentially fatal infection in her gums and she needs to be sent to a special hospital in Fillydelphia."

Celestia asked, "Could you raise and lower the sun for me until I am better little sister?"

Luna suspected something fishy was going on. She knew that Alicorns could not be killed by illnesses. She said, "Colgate, she is an Alicorn, there is no illness that could kill her."

Celestia sat down next to Luna while Colgate headed back to her office and grabbed a book, which she had altered and headed back out front. She flipped the book to the page where it described the infection that Celestia had. Luna was reading over it and was terrified by what she read. It stated that it can kill anypony, regardless of race and that it is especially brutal and fatal for Alicorns. Luna grabbed her sister and started to cry. She cried, "I will take care of it for you big sister." She looked at Colgate and asked, "I take it she can't fly there?"

Colgate replied, "Your Majesty, she could barely make it out here, much less fly anywhere. I need to take her to the back to get her ready for this trip."

Luna said, "Ok Colgate, you know what is best. I'm going to head home."

Luna left the office and headed home. She assumed that Celestia would be taken by train to Fillydelphia. Once Colgate got Celestia to the back she injected her with the most powerful sedative she had. She took the unconscious princess down to the basement and secured her in the chair between Rarity and Filthy. She used extra measures with Celestia though. She wrapped her in enchanted chains to make sure she could not teleport out of there and she placed a horn cap on her.

Her other patients saw this and shouted, "Is that Princess Celestia?"

Colgate growled, "What does it matter if it is?" She smacked Rarity and continued, "You three keep quiet or you'll wish you were never born."

They knew that the dentist would stick to her words so they decided that they had better keep quiet. Before she headed back upstairs Filthy asked, "Colgate, I'm hungry. When are you going to feed us?"

Colgate was in no mood to put up with them or their needs at the moment so she injected them all with the same powerful sedative that she gave to Celestia. She smiled and said, "Sleep tight my patients, I'll check on you after I close."

She headed back upstairs and was greeted by Lyra at the door. Lyra asked, "Colgate, why is it whenever you send a patient off to a special dental hospital you always go downstairs?"

Colgate frowned at her little sister. She replied, "Lyra, don't question what I do. Just do your job, ok?"

Lyra shrugged her shoulders and headed out to the lobby to get their next patient. Colgate was in the back and was beginning to wonder if Lyra was catching on to what she was doing. She decided that since she might become a threat to her, that Lyra would need to be put in her place.
