The Fashionable Patient

The following morning started out like Mondays always do, Colgate and Lyra eat breakfast and then open their practice. Ten minutes after opening their first patients of the day come in, Sweetie Belle, Rarity and Twilight. Lyra looked down at the list and said, "Sweetie Belle, you're first. Come on back."

Sweetie Belle, who is normally terrified of the dentist seemed to be calmed by Lyra's voice, which was much sweeter and soothing than Lemon Hearts' rude, deeper voice. Lyra got Sweetie Belle in the chair and began to look at her teeth. She was impressed with what she saw. She said, "Well Sweetie Belle, I have a feeling that this might be a rather quick appointment for you."

Sweetie Belle asked, "Why?"

Lyra replied, "Your teeth look good to me but let me go get Colgate. She's the one with the fancy spells to check things out extra close."

Sweetie Belle breathed a sigh of relief as Lyra went to get her sister. Colgate walked up to the filly with a smile on her face. She said, "So, Lyra has told me about your teeth. Let's take a closer look."

Sweetie Belle opened her mouth and Colgate began to take a look around. When she used her X-ray spell on the filly she saw nothing bad at all. Colgate then gave her the bite force test, which turned out much better than even Sweetie Belle thought. Colgate read the results and joked, "Sweetie Belle, are you an alligator in disguise?"

Sweetie Belle looked confused. She asked, "Why would you ask that? You know I'm not an alligator!"

Colgate laughed, "Well for a filly of your size you have a very strong bite. I'm sure your sister will be just as proud of you as I am for taking such good care of your teeth."

Sweetie Belle got a nervous smile on her face because unlike her, Rarity does not take care of her teeth all that well. After cleaning Sweetie Belle's teeth Lyra headed out to get Twilight. Twilight's appointment was rather uneventful as she also took great care of her teeth. Finally Lyra went out to get Rarity.

When Rarity sat down in the chair and opened her mouth for Lyra, it wasn't quite what the hygienist was expecting. She said, "Rarity, I'm surprised you'd let your teeth get like this."

Rarity asked, "Whatever do you mean?"

Lyra replied, "Well I'll let Colgate go more in depth with you on this."

A couple minutes later Colgate arrived and Rarity opened her mouth for her. Colgate took a closer look and discovered she had a couple of cavities along with a lot of plaque on her teeth. She stood there with a disapproving look on her face and said, "Rarity, I would think that a pony who places so much importance on her appearance would take care of her teeth." She paused and in a more stern voice continued, "Perhaps Sweetie Belle needs to get you in the habit of brushing and flossing."

Rarity replied, "Well I, you see, when you are a fashionista, you really don't have time to do such silly things."

Colgate frowned and mocked, "Well you see, when you're a snobby fashion pony you can't be bothered with your teeth. Oh my, what if I were to get a speck of toothpaste in my fur? I would just die!"

"How dare you sa........." Before Rarity could finish her sentence Colgate forced the bite force meter in her mouth and ordered, "Bite down until it hurts."

Rarity bit down until it hurt. Colgate read the results and was not impressed. She said, "Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. Sweetie Belle can bite down with more force than you." She quickly headed out to the lobby and said, "Twilight, Sweetie Belle, Rarity's teeth are in far worse shape than they look on the outside. She is going to have to be sent to a special dental hospital in Fillydelphia."

Sweetie Belle asked, "What? My sis has bad teeth?"

Colgate, with a smile on her face replied, "I'm afraid so Sweetie Belle. The infection in her gums is so bad that it could kill her if she does not get urgent care as soon as possible."

Twilight interrupted, "Can we see her before she leaves?"

Colgate replied, "I'm afraid not. She left through the back to go to the train station."

Twilight said, "Come on Sweetie Belle, let's get to the train station before she leaves. We can say good bye to her there." Sweetie Belle and Twilight rushed to the station but they were too late as the train to Fillydelphia just pulled away as they got there.

Colgate headed to the back with a sinister smile on her face. Lyra had already taken back the next patient so she was oblivious to Colgate sedating Rarity and taking her down to her hospital. She did to Rarity what she does to her other patients and like every other patient, Rarity cried out in pain as the spikes plowed into her hide, drawing blood. Also like with every other patient, Colgate smacked her for daring to make any noises.
