Chapters Author's Note
So, this story is something for me to work on when I don't know what to do with 117. This chapter's only reason for existing was because it was an assignment for creative writing*; the rest of the story is what I intend to do with it.
*Create a character with an internal conflict and an external conflict.
And quite frankly, you can skip this chapter if you really want to.
Chapter 1: The Prologue
So, um. Hi, not sure how to start here. Sorry; been trapped in a box for a few millennium. My thoughts are a bit muddled. Sorry, again, I should probably explain that. How do I start?
Well, why don't you start from the beginning?

Oh would you all just shut up already. You're driving me insane. Wait, too late for that; I've long since gone insane. I think so anyway. Whatever, let's start with the box. I have been trapped in this metal box for a few thousand years. It's air tight and there is no light or sound. I think it is about 10*10 but I can't say for sure.
As for how I survived, I am immortal. I don't need food, water or air. Don't ask me how, I was born like that. Also, I am in fact human in case you were wondering. RIGHT, my name. How could I be so foolish to forget to tell you that? My name is Nova. I was born in Greece, somewhere around 300 B.C. My parents said that when I was born my body glowed with a light that could out shine the sun; that is why they named me Nova. Sorry, off topic again.
The box, the main reason I'm stuck here. This solid box was designed to hold me inside for what is likely intended to be eternity. As for why; well, like I said, I am immortal. So I lived for over 2 thousand years on Earth. Fought in all three world wars. The third one was the war to end all wars. Nuclear missiles, every single one was fired. I was the only survivor on the planet. Forced to watch the world burn before me. So I left the world to find a new one.
Hey numb nuts, you forgot to explain to them about your other powers.
Normally I'd yell at you about the name calling but I'll ignore it for now because you are right. Thank you. Sorry about that. I think I might have a personality disorder but I'm not quite sure. Anyway, yes. I have other abilities besides being unable to die. I can take any visible light and bend it to my will and use it to make light constructs of any kind. Including working wings of light. That's why I was lit up like a Christmas tree when I was born. Using my ability to fly, I went into deep space and visited other planets trying to find life. Eventually I did find a planet with life on it. Downside is the creatures living here are extremely xenophobic and attacked me on sight.
Primitive beasts. Should have killed them all when we had the chance.
Now now, were we not once as primitive as they? They are a young species and need the chance to learn right from wrong.
Yea, you said the same thing when you had to decide whether or not to prevent the war that destroyed Earth. And look where that got us.
Oh gods! SHUT UP. What is done is done. We cannot change the past, only use it to guide us to a better future. As I was saying... where was I? Right, the xenophobes; I reached the planet and tried to make contact. As soon as they saw me they called me a monster and a demon. The entire species wanted me dead. They had the ability to use actual magic somehow. They could do things that humanity dreamed about. The king decided to try and kill me himself. He hit me with a mountain. He actually unearthed a mountain and hit me with it. Twice. While still stunned, he knocked me into this box that I'm in and buried it underground. That was thousands of years ago. Thousands of years of darkness. Because I can't create my own light; I can't escape. Without the light, I am just as strong and fast as a normal man. Thousands of years alone was not easy, I'll tell you that.
Oh come on, you're not alone. You have me here to keep you company.
Yea, we're right here with you.

Fine. Still sorry about that. Anyway, few thousand years of nothingness. I don't think I'll ever get out. Don't know if I'll even get another chance to talk to you again either. Till then, goodbye.

Gods! Shut up. Wait, what is that buzzing noise? Is that construction?
Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. Day court. The third most annoying part of my day. The second being anything having to do with Blueblood and the first; whenever anything goes wrong in Ponyville; however, if something does go wrong and it is easy to fix it gets me out of two and three. I love my subjects, don't get me wrong, it's just that listening to the nobles complain about everything; asking to have something ridiculous done that would benefit only them. That is what I can not stand. The nobles used to be respectable, like Fancypants. He is a good example of the old nobility. Now I'm stuck listening to Shining Gold drone on about wanting higher taxes for those that are not nobility. "I apologize Sir Gold; but your request to alter the tax structure is denied."
"And the taxes of the nobility should be lo-. Pardon?"
"The tax structure will remain as is. There will be no change."
"Wha... but but but I..."
"Good day to you Sir Gold." Hopefully I don't have to deal with any more nobles today. It's unlikely, but one can hope. Just as the next noble is entering the room, a spark of light and a scroll appears in front of me. Catching it in my magic before it can hit the ground; I open it up to read.
Dear Princess Celestia.
Well then, looks like I'll be visiting my student today. "Day Court is closed for the day due to urgent matters that I must attend to." With that taken care of, I head outside and fly off.
I sent the letter, now I just have to wait. the workers have the box mostly dug up. If it is a perfect cube as it appears; there is still about three feet left. The entire box is covered in runes that I can't read. I sent Spike to find my books on old runes but there was nothing in there either. Whatever this box is, it's very old. I hear the wing beats of the princess approaching. Turning to look, I see her. Once she lands, I run up to her. "Princess Celestia, I'm grateful you made it here so soon."
"Of course Twilight. I always have time for you. Now then, where is this box you mentioned?"
"Yes Princess, right this way; it's down there." Leading her down to the box, I see her normally calm demeanor take on one of puzzlement and wonder. It doesn't last long however. "This box has odd runes on it. Do you know what they say?" She looks at the runes for a moment before turning to me.
"Yes, as a matter of fact I do. It is very old Runic scripture. Its common use fell out over ten thousand years ago. The only reason I know of them is because I studied them when I was younger. It isn't really a description of what is inside; just spells. They're carved in runes to make the effects last longer."
This is amazing, I could learn about a whole new set of runic characters. "Really! What kind of spells?"
"Oh Twilight, ever the inquisitive one. The spells are to prevent any damage to the box; either elemental of otherwise. It is also designed so it can be only opened by an Alicorn; there are other spells as well. I do wonder what is inside."
"You could open it."
"Yes Twilight. I suppose I could."
Her magic envelops the box; the whole thing has a golden light about it. I climb up the dirt slope so I can see better. A set of lines form on the top of the box in an X shape connecting the corners. The lines deepen and expand till the box can open on the top. It unfolds and continues opening. After only a few seconds, a blur of light shoots out of the top. It is then that it occurs to me. Somepony was in the box. But how? That box must have been there for at least ten thousand years for the runes on it. Also, for Celestia to have had no idea about it? Whatever it is, it shot out like a bat out of tartarus. Looking over to the princess, I see that she looks almost as surprised as me. I look back to where the thing went; it's a hundred feet up in the air. It's just floating there as if without a care in the world. Just gazing at the sun. It has beautiful wings of light that stretch out from its back; arms open, it's like it's relishing the light of the sun. What is it? "Princess Celestia, do you have any idea what that is?"
"I am afraid to say that I have no clue."
I turn my attention back to the thing; but I see that it has turned its attention away from the sun, and toward us.
Chapter 4: The Great Escape
Freedom! That was the first thing to cross my mind when the box opened. I'm free! Thousands of years and I'm free! I let the light rejuvenate my senses for a second. The light is so nice to see. I form my wings of light and shoot upward into the sky; intent on getting closer to the sun. Who ever was the fool that let me out; I'll have to thank him before I end this world. What do you think Rage, shall we destroy them? No answer, nothing at all? Rage, you there? What happened? Wisdom, can you hear me? Where are they? Are they gone? They must be. I'm really free. Free of the box and of the others in my head.
Stopping my upwards flight, I float there and bask in the light of the sun. It feels so good to just enjoy the light. So much energy flowing in it; I can feel the energy flowing through me. I decide to look down at the box, never really got to see the outside. There is a pair of ponies standing next to it. One of them looks familiar. The Alicorn king? Perfect. I can start my global take over by killing him. Oh but how to do it? So many ways to kill the beast. Let's have some fun.
I opened the box, curious as to what was inside. I fear that I made a terrible mistake. Something shot out and is in the sky. It noticed us and now it's flying straight for us. I conjure a large dome of magic to protect me and Twilight. That should stop it. It's getting closer though; not even seeming hesitant. I put more energy into the barrier just to be safe. It is getting closer and closer. I brace myself for the impact this could cause. But not enough it would seem. It hits with such power that the shield is shattered; Twilight and I are sent back to the edge of the ditch the box was in. The dust clears and I see the thing. It is tall, has dark hair, very muscular, and looks very angry. Whatever this is, he is powerful. "Twilight, I will keep this thing busy. Go get the Elements of Harmony."
"Yes princess."
Twilight heads running off to get them. Good. I hope this thing isn't too powerful. It shattered right through my shield. I charge up a counter attack and fire it at him. A direct hit. He didn't even try to move out of the way. I soon see why, he did not even flinch. But his hair looks a little whiter at the tip. Before I can attack again, he moves straight for me faster than I can follow and punches me upwards; out of the hole in the ground. "Ok, that hurt."
I manage to regain my balance mid-flight just in time to try to evade a blast of light shooting at me. It still hits me on the side and causes a bit of pain. Realizing that I might need help, I open a telepathic link with Luna. /Luna, are you there? Can you hear me?\
/Yes, what is it?\
/I am in ponyville and need your help. I am fighting with something very powerful and very fast. I need you to get here as fast as you can.\
/I am on my way!\
The link cuts off and good thing too. I almost didn't see his next attack. He flew up at me with a sword of light in hand trying to slash at me. I still get nicked on the shoulder though. That really hurts. I see out of the corner of my eye that the Elements are here. I fly towards them, hopefully leading the thing with me.
I was terrified. That thing attacked the princess and she couldn't even stop its attack with her magic. She had me gather the others and now we are ready. But the battle between them looks one sided; and not in our favor. Celestia sees us and starts flying our way, the thing following her. "Girls, get ready." The Elements' power activates and we each feel the connection it creates between us. The thing is in range so I fire the beam at it. There is a direct hit and the thing stops its flight. It appears unharmed if a bit dazed. I fire again; pouring all I can into it. This time the thing falls out of the sky. We beat it.
However, before it hit the ground; it stops its fall and shoots upwards faster than even Rainbow Dash could fly. Higher and higher into the sky. It stops at a few hundred feet, I can barely see it. That becomes the least of my concerns when a massive ball of light forms above where this monster is. From the massive ball of light, thousands upon thousands of small bolts of light shoot out at us. Celestia forms another shield of magic around us but the immense power in its attack starts to crack the dome. I use my own power to help hold it together but it only serves to prolong the inevitable.
The shield is practically falling apart at this point. I have poured so much energy into the shield that I can barely stand; Celestia doesn't look much better. Just as suddenly as the thing's attack started, it stopped. I look up to see a black beam of magic that goes right through where the thing was just a moment ago. Celestia and I drop the shield; and I, despite myself, fall to the ground. When I look up, I see Princess Luna fighting the monster from the box.

Sorry it is so short after so long a wait. There was more to this chapter that was moved to the next one to save time and get this out now.
Chapter 5: Questions
Ouch. Well then. That was unexpected. I was trying to break through the shield that pony put up when I get shot in the back by something. I turn around and see another Alicorn. This one is black and seems to fire black energy. This is a problem; the magic that these ponies use falls under the visible light spectrum. This one's, however, is black. No light at all. The light's energy is dissipated when it hits me so it can't do as much damage. Because this one has black energy it will hurt more. I may be immortal but I still feel pain. That rainbow beam that hit me was odd too.
Now that I think about it, the king doesn't seem like the king. Wait! You got to be kidding me! How did I not see this sooner? Thousands of years alone. Thousands! How could I expect the King to still be alive. I escape my prison and attack the first thing I see. Now I have this Black Alicorn to fight. Actually, now that I think of it. She looks dark blue. She also looks very angry. Ok. Maybe I can talk this out. "Hey! Um, listen. Sorry about this. I'm a bit confused at the moment. Can we not fight so I can explain?"
"No."
She then fires another blast of black energy at me; not that hard to dodge. "Seriously, stop for a second. I think I made a mistake."
"The only mistake you made was coming here!"
She fires another blast at me; hitting my arm this time. "Ok, you want to do this the hard way? FINE!" I fire a beam of light straight at her. She didn't even have time to try to evade before it hit her; knocking her out of the sky. She recovers before she hits the ground though. I shoot straight down at her, reforming my sword of light and forming my armor. Once close enough, I slash at her. Lucky for her, she pulls up a shield of magic before I can lob her head off.
She forms her own blade of darkness and the duel commences. Slash for slash, blow for blow. The only reason she is lasting as long as she is would be that I was trapped in a box; and having to constantly be mindful of the hypnotic beam of rainbows they are shooting at me. I don't know what it does, but I don't like it. I am still getting the upper hand in this. I turn my shield and sword into a massive war hammer; and swing it downward at her with all the force I can. Her shield shatters and she is stunned long enough for me to follow up by continuing the swing till it comes back around with even more force than the first hit.
I watch her plummet to the ground but get hit with another blast of magic. The rainbow colors surround me and I... I, I'm having trouble thinking. The light shouldn't be causing me harm... but it's so concentrated and powerful... I'm having difficulty staying in the air. Looking below me is that box again; they will try to put me back in. Won't they? NO, I will not let them. I use my power to absorb the energy of the beam; powering myself with it. It's so much... it's hard to absorb... but I let the energy flow through me; boosting my power higher than I have felt in ages. I smirk. "This is gonna be good."
Chapter 6: Chaos Revealed
Watching my sister fall out of the sky is too painful. I am spent, barely any strength left... I use what I can to slow down her fall. The Element bearers have been firing blast after blast at this monster; only just now hitting him again. How can we beat this thing? Wait; Discord. I am sure he could handle this. If not, at least have some useful information. Turning to the six, I see a mortified expression on each of their faces; all of them staring at the sky. I turn to see myself, and instantly regret it.
The monster we have been fighting is no longer Tanish with black hair. Its skin and hair have become pure white. It is hovering there, no longer possessing wings. It is just staring at us. Then, it vanishes from it's spot and reappears floating above the box. It looks at the box for a moment, then the metal box just crumples in on itself till it is barely the size of a small foal.
I regain myself and turn to the girls again. "Fluttershy, where is Discord?" The butter yellow pegasus just eeps and curls in on herself; Applejack turns to help her. "Rainbow Dash, do you know?"
"Hm, he's probably at Shy's cottage terrorizing Angel; or napping. Why?"
"He may be the only one who can fight this thing. I need you to go get him. I need his help."
"You got it princess." She flies off and I turn to my sister as she limps towards me. "Oh dear sister, are you alright?"
"I will survive, I was hit rather hard though."
I turn back to the beast; some of its normal color seems to have returned. Perhaps he is losing his power. I can only hope.
Crushing the box with my power was no simple task; the magic protecting it was hard to crack. I almost used up what I got from that beam, run out and I'll be forced to revert back to base form. All the better I suppose; the effect of the spacial awareness is not always fun. I remember the first time that happened. Now, if I can just concentrate...
Yea, me trying to concentrate is quickly interrupted by a maniacal laughter that feels like it is coming from everywhere at once. The fact that I can't pinpoint it even with my spacial awareness puts me straight to the defensive. With as firm and commanding of a voice as I can, I call out. "Reveal thyself."
"Oh, what fun would that be?" The voice mocks back.
"So, that's how it's going to be huh? FINE!" I know just how to handle this. I send a pulse of spacial energy out that will force anything hiding either between or within any dimension connected to this one to be instantly revealed. I'm a bit surprised at what I see. It is odd, like Picasso messed with a Mr. Potato head. Parts look dragon, some looks bird, pony, goat, lion, it's odd. It looks at me quite surprised none the less.
"How did you DO that!? Now that I think about it, just what ARE you?"
"I could ask the same to you."
"I'm sure you could. But considering the fact that you have caused a bit of a ruckus, and you ruffled up the feathers of both of the princesses and my dear friend Fluttershy, and her friends aren't too happy about it. You must have caused them quite a bit of distress for dear, kind, Tia to have thrown in a whatever means necessary when she asked me to handle you."
"I see. So, is Tia the white one or the blue one?" That got him stammering oddly enough.
"Wait, what! How could you not know?"
"I spent the last several millennia under a proverbial rock after fighting an Alicorn king. Now, which pony princess down there is which?"
They're just talking? I don't understand. The one time I basically tell Discord to 'let loose' and he just floats there talking to him. This... this is why we can't have nice things.
"Ok, I think I get it. The white one is the princess of the sun and the other is the moon. The six others with them are your slavers. You are Discord, and you were sent to get rid of me with your chaos powers. Am I missing anything?"
"That's about it, besides the Elements of Harmony that they wear that allows them to turn me to stone. Now, who are you and what's your story?"
"I am Nova. I am from another planet and traveled here. When I got here, I got involved in a war with the king and he imprisoned me for the last several thousand years. I am currently planing on getting revenge on the princesses for being imprisoned. But I'll probably get a bite to eat first seeing as I haven't eaten in all this time. After I eat, we can duke it out." I use my power over space to create a plate of pastitsio, because I can do that. While I eat, I notice the astonished look on Discord's face. Swallowing my bite, I ask an obvious question. "Something up?"
"Well, yes. I can't believe anyone would have the guts to tell me to wait so he can eat before we fight. I don't have a problem with it mind you, I just didn't expect it. Then there is the fact that you can apparently make a plate of whatever that is just appear out of nowhere. Speaking of which, how did you make me appear like you did before?"
*Another bite* "Mmfh, dis is gou, wah shome?" *swallow* "It's called pastitsio. It's Greek, made with meat, pasta and various forms of cheese. It's a bit more complicated than that but it's enough to explain it."
"No thank you, I ate not too long ago. But that doesn't answer my question. How did you do it? I explained my end, it's only fair you do the same."
"I suppose so. While your powers are limited to effecting the natural entropy of the area to cause chaos, along with a few other things, my power is over the very fundamental force of space. I can do anything, anywhere, and there is little that can be done to stop me. Along with combat skills honed over millennia."
"I see. Sounds reasonable enough. Now that you're done with your food, shall we get to it?"
I think for a second on how fighting him will go, and am quite satisfied. "Ok, we can fight. But what kind of fight will it be? And what of the stakes?"
"Well, there is the question to be asked. From what I know about you; killing you will not be easy, if it is even possible. Also, for you to kill me would be something I wouldn't count on as possible either. So that should rule out a grudge match, though the option would still stand. How about a set of challenges, best of three? Alternating picks of course."
"Interesting. And the rules?"
"Any challenge is fair game, other than anything trivia because you and I would each have a different set of knowledge so it would be pointless. No cheating if a set of rules exists, unless the situation would permit it. Once a challenge is decided, it cannot be changed without unanimous decision. That sound good Nova?"
"Sounds good. You can pick the challenge first."
"Thank you. Now then, how about 180 holes of golf?"
"Sure. Why not?"
"Let's see... after 180 holes, that's 520 under par for me; and for you Nova... 492 under par. I win."
"Yes, it would seem so. It was a good game."
"Now, what challenge will you present?"
"I suppose Mental Chess."
"Well then. Shall we begin?

I respond with a smug look on my face. "Well, I'm not a pony."
Discord's face becomes unnervingly serious "No. You're not."

Chapter 7: Under New Management
"Haha. Now, Discord, why so serious?"
"I am done playing around Nova. You are a threat to the ponies and I can not allow that."
I give Discord a light glare. "Really? How do you plan to stop me?"
"Simple. Like this." *SNAP*
The last thing I see before feeling space warp around me is Discord snapping his talon. I could stop him if I wanted to, but I want to see what he plans to do. Next thing I know, I feel a large amount of heat wash over me, and radiation; lots of radiation. /So, where am I? Swimming in something hot and radiated. Very bright. Oh! Haha. Discord you fool. Teleport me into the sun. Foolish bastard, I'm immune to the sun's power.\ I slowly float to the surface, and look down on the planet below.
/It's actually a nice looking planet.\ I think to myself. Been a while since my last solar swim, like a hot bath. Rejuvenating and relaxing; just what I needed after thousands of years in a box. So much light I can absorb too. I think I will stay here till I gather enough energy to hit my Legendary form. Let them think they won, only for me to pop back and take over. King Nova, ruler of all. Sound nice. Think I'll learn what I can while here. Using my Spacial Awareness, I stretch out my mind to find every book on the planet below, and begin reading. Soon I will know everything.
Well then. Discord pulled through. He got rid of the monster. I am not surprised when Discord appears in front of me. "Very good Discord. You saved Equestria!"
"Hm, yes. I suppose so."
I am quite puzzled by his tone. He sounds saddened. "Why are you not happy? You saved your friends." Discord then moves close, to whisper into my ear.
"I am very sorry, I had to kill him by sending him into the sun. There was no other way I could think of to get rid of him. He is more powerful than you, me, and even Tirek, Faust help us if he escapes. I didn't want to kill him, but I could not hope to fight him."
"I see. Do not tell the Elements of what you did, only reassure them that he is handled. Did you happen to learn the creature's name?"
"Nova. He is from another world, his ended and he came here. He was imprisoned by your father, 10,000 years ago."
"He, he knew my father."
"Yes, and he attacked you, thinking you were him."
"If my father, peace be upon him, saw a need to imprison him; it was probably for the best." Hopefully this event will not interfere with my plans for Twilight's ascension. She is so close. Speak of the pony, here she comes.
"Princess, is it done? Did we win?"
"Yes Twilight. I believe we did."
Time to have my revenge. Now, first I need to make sure I don't have a forced reversion. I create a micro sun about the size of a small marble and place it in a containment field within a ring; I'll make it into a crown later. /There, that should make enough light to keep me going. Wonder why I didn't do this sooner. Oh well.\ Focusing my mind, I find the band of ponies I plan to enslave, done. Next to make myself invisible. Teleporting there is not hard. Looks like they are going to be surprised. I float in front of them and drop the illusion. "So, think you can kill me that easily huh? Not going to happen."
"What! But how? You should be barbeque."
"Well Celestia, I'm not easily killed. Also, Discord." I blitz forward and punch him straight up, launching him into the air. "Shoryuken!" I chuckle to myself and fly up after him, then grab him by the neck. "Now, how about I send you into the sun? Think you can survive that?"
"Pardon my French, but, fuck off."
"Now, is that any way to talk to your future king?" I spin around and throw him a good 50 feet. Before I can follow up, I am hit with the Elements of Harmony again, not that it matters anymore. Looking down, I see another blast heading my way. With a simple thought, I redirect it at Discord to see if it really will turn him to stone. The blast hits, and just as expected, a statue in his form appears. Only for it to plummet to the ground; before it can hit, and shatter completely, I open a portal to my pocket dimension to keep it in. "Well then, that worked better than expected." I reappear in front of the 8 ponies I have been dealing with today. "Well then. Looks like Discord is out of commission. I hereby proclaim myself king of this land. Bow down to your new king."
"No Nova. I will never bow to you."
"Oh Tia," I smirk appearing on my face, "that was not wise to say." I reach down, grab her by the horn and yank her up to my eye level. "I was gong to spare your lives, and I want to, but perhaps I need to make an example out of you." I create a short sword out of light, sharp to a subatomic level, hold her out to get a better angle, and with a quick slash, remove her horn from her head; leaving only an inch tall stump still attached. The rest of it still in my grasp. Celestia falls to the ground, her face contorted in a silent scream, tears running down her face. I bend down to whisper in her ear. "Disobey me again and it will be your wings I take. Count yourself lucky I don't kill you yet." Luna then takes that opportunity to hit me with her magic. I learned why it effected me before, she was using dark magic. Now she isn't. Standing back up, I see angry looks on the faces of 5 ponies. Fluttershy is cowering in fear and Pinky Pie is crying. "Now! Bow to your new king."
"How dare you hurt the princess!" Rainbow Dash then charges at me.
What does she hope to accomplish? She hits into me, not even making me budge in the slightest. I use this opportunity to grab on to her by the back of her neck. From what I learned, she loves to fly. Perhaps I will take that from her. I grab her left wing by the main bone, and snap it in two; the right wing follows right after. Her scream is more audible. With both of her wings broken, I toss her back to her friends. By this time, a large crowd of ponies has gathered to see what is gong on. "Are you done trying to fight me? The next one to try will die without hesitation. Bow before your new king!" Tired of disobedience, I amplify the local gravity, forcing them to their knees. Only Luna continues to resist. "Bow down like your subjects and I shall spare you your horn and wings, for now." With a look of defeat, she too bows down. I release the gravity field, allowing them to try and get back up, but none do.
"Luna, you are to return to your castle in Canterlot and draw up papers declaring your formal surrender to me. Don't even consider deviating from this, I see all and will know in an instant if you try. Understand?"
"Yes."
"Yes what?"
"Yes Master."
"I was going for 'Sir' or 'My King' but I like the sound of that. Master. Very good Luna, you're my new favorite. Now, I will be in your old castle with your sister and the element bearers." That reminds me, with a quick thought, I take the Elements of Harmony and place them in my pocket dimension to keep them out of use, along with Celestia's horn. "When you are done, come there." I then warp myself and my 7 pitiable pony prisoners to the castle in the Everfree forest. "Hmm, needs some redecorating." With a thought, the entire castle is rebuilt better than what it was when it was new. "This, is a castle fit for a king. Don't you think so Tia?" She only glares at me, if it could be called that much. "Nothing to say to me? Oh well, that will be handled later. What of the rest of you? Anything to say?"
"You're... you're a monster."
"So, Fluttershy is the only one that feels like saying anything. Well Fluttershy, yes; I may be a monster. But I am also your king. Now, I wasn't always evil, but when you are imprisoned for ten millennia you get a bit angry."
"A bit? You reckon taking over all a Equestria from a bit angry?"
"No Applejack. I call that Revenge." I look at Rainbow Dash, curled in on herself, weeping. Perhaps breaking her wings was a bit harsh. Eh, what's done is done. I create chains and shackle them all to my new throne. "You will stay here. Don't try to escape." I then head out of the room where they can't see me leave and teleport to Canterlot. "She should have listened to me."

Ok... I've been gone for a while... I don't need anyone pointing out how obvious that is... sorry... Anyway... Over the time that I've been gone... my writing style has changed a bit; mostly the use of / and . Those will be for indicating thoughts over actions. For example: (I sit down and contemplate my place in the universe. /I wonder why I'm here...\ I pass it off as one of those things with no answer. "That was easy." I stand up and go into the kitchen, wondering what I will make.)
I know it seems foolish to do... but it is as it is. After about 4 months of doing things differently... it's easier for me.
Chapter 9: Down To Chance
I warp back to my castle, into my bedroom. "It's nice to have a bed... I'll get some sleep in a few hours." I sit down on the floor and meditate a bit. /Time to figure out what is happening.\ I find myself entering my own mind, a large expanse of open space. /Rage! Get your ass over here! Now!\ After a moment, he does so. He forms across from me, an exact copy of my human form, but his body is blood red.
/What do you want Nova?\
I frown at him. /I know you started to leak out earlier. I want to know how and why.\
He nods slowly. /The pony was being bad... she should be punished for it.\
I nod a bit. /While that may be the case, it doesn't answer my questions.\
/Fine... We are taking over a planet... I wanted to get involved too.\
/It isn't your place to be involved. You'd just try to blow up the planet.\
/I... I would do no such thing.\
/Rage... You said that if we ever got free you'd blow up the planet.\
/I was exaggerating. I won't blow it up.\
/Then why are you leaking out?\
/It's... it isn't important.\
/Rage... I'm not stupid.\
/I know...\ He looks down a bit. /It's lonely in here...\
His words catch me by surprise. /You're lonely?\ He nods. /I see... you just want a turn at the wheel...\
/Just for a little while...\
I sigh to myself. /Fine.\
He looks up, surprised. /What?\
/I'll give you a turn every so often.\
/Really?\
I nod. /But there will be rules you will have to follow. If you break one, you'll get a warning. Break another... you will lose this privilege. Understand?\
He nods enthusiastically. /I understand Nova.\
/Good. First off, no excessive collateral damage. No murdering ponies unless they deserve it. Don't permanently hurt our prisoners. Don't over abuse our power. You'll get a few hours to start, then you have to give me control again. If you're good, I'll allot more time for you. If you're bad... I can over power you easily, remember that. You will only have access to base and hyper forms. I may unlock legendary for you another time. Understand?\ He nods. /Good. Now, where are the others?\
/I haven't seen them... but they are probably here somewhere.\
/Alright. I suppose they'd want a turn too...\
/Not really... they're satisfied with each other... But they don't want anything to do with me.\
/I know... But that's what happens when you're evil.\
/It's depressing sometimes... Being evil...\
/I understand, but at least you don't have much for rules to follow. No obligation to save people.\
He chuckles a bit. /Yea... we aren't superman.\
/Nope. But we'd kick his butt.\
/Yes. Yes we would.\
/Too bad we can't test that idea...\
/I wonder... could we use our power to make him exist?\
/No. One of the things we can't do is make life where there was none.\
/Right... that's why we lost earth...\ He frowns.
/Yea...\ I nod slowly. /Anyway... once everything is in order... I'll give you a turn.\
He smiles. /Thanks.\
I nod. /See you around.\ He nods and disappears. I step out of my mind, back into reality. /That went better than I expected... Now to handle the ponies.\ I head down to the throne room, and notice that half of them are missing. /Let's see who's still here. Tia, Rainbow Dash, fluttershy, and Pinkie pie... Which means Applejack, Twilight and Rarity escaped.\ I frown. "Where are they?" RD, Flutters, and Pie look down, likely scared out of their minds at being caught.
Tia shows a bit of backbone though. "You'll never find them."
I shake my head condescendingly. "Oh Tia, Tia, Tia... How big a fool do you take me for? I will find them as soon as I decide to find them. But if you tell me where they went, I will not punish you as harshly as I plan to. For I will not tolerate disobedience."
She glares at me. "You do not scare me."
"Oh really?" I walk up to her. "Look what happened to your horn? Do you really doubt my power over you?" She only glares more. I shaky my head. "You will be good." I place my hand on her stump of a horn, finding that it is slightly hollow, probably for the mana pool. /Perfect.\ I place my finger over the hole and she winces slightly. "Tell me where they are." I press down on the hole.
"Nnn... NO. I will not lead you to them."
I press a big more, and watch the wince of pain I get from her from it. "Tell me where they are now."
She struggles a bit, but stays adamant about not telling me. I can't torture her directly it seems.
I sigh and let go. "You seem to value the lives of your ponies over your own. Admirable indeed. But what if I made you chose?" I step over to fluttershy and create a spear of light, pointed at her. I look back to tia. "Tell me where they are, and I will not kill her." The eyes of all the ponies widen in fear. RD and Pie start groveling, begging me not to. Flutters breaks down into tears. Tia looks terrified. "Tell me where the others are, or I will end her here are now. I will leave her dead body for you to reflect on your actions, and to prevent further disobedience. I will count to three." Tia looks back and forth between the two of us, thinking as she starts to panic. "One." I move the spear closer, touching her chest with it. I see tia realizing that I am not bluffing. "Two." I pull it back, ready the thrust.
"Alright!"
I look to tia, having gotten something out of her. "You give in?" She nods slowly. "Tell me where they are."
She looks downwards, regretting her actions. "They're... at the library..."
I smile at her. "Good Tia." I let the spear vanish and I pet tia on the head; ignoring her glare. "You did as you were told. You all get a treat." I materialize a small pile of carrots. "These are for the four of you. Enjoy." I move to the middle of the room, and teleport outside the library.
I watch as the monster named Nova leaves the room he left us in. "This monster needs to be stopped." Princess Celestia places a hoof on my shoulder.
"No Twilight... there is no more that you can do. We will simply have to wait till my sister finds a way."
Rainbow Dash stops crying, still sniffling a bit. "What can she do? This monster can't be stopped."
I huff a bit. "We need to get out of here." I fire a beam of magic at the chain holding me, having found no lock to pick, and it being teleport proof somehow. "I'm getting out of here, and you're all coming with me."
"Twilight, dear... do you think we can get out?"
I nod, determined. "Yes."
"Well, I'm staying here..." RD shudders a bit. "He is too strong... You should stay too... he'll kill you if you run away."
I shake my head a bit. "Fine... stay here... I'll come back and free you after." The chain snaps, setting me free. "Who else is coming with me?"
Applejack stands a bit taller. "I'ma coming too. I ain't stayin here for some monkey to boss around."
I nod and start on her chain too. Rarity stands up next. "I will not be the pet of some uncouth brute."
I smile at her. "I'll get you out next. Anyone else coming too?" I look at the others, but get no response. "Really? You're all staying here?" They nod. I move on to rarity, having gotten AJ out. "Fine... I'll come back for you."
Celestia nods slowly. "Be safe twilight."
"We will." I break Rarity free. "We will probably find what we need in the library. Come on." we gallop off, out of the castle, back to ponyville. Once we reach the library, we run inside and look for something to use. I call to Spike. "Spike! Come here!"
He comes down quickly. "TWILIGHT!!!" He runs up to me and wraps his arms around me in a hug. "I was so worried... when that monster showed up and took you away... I thought I'd never see you again."
I hug him back. "It's ok Spike... I'm here now."
He pulls back a bit and looks to the others. "Where's the rest of them?"
I sigh a bit. "Still captured... we will go get them after. We need a book on how to imprison a nearly all powerful monster without the elements of harmony."
He nods. "On it Twilight." He smiles at rarity briefly before running to find a book. I start looking too. I pull several books out at a time, looking through them all at once. "There must be something..."
I can hear the lot of them in there, and decide to see what mayhem I can cause. I make myself invisible, and make a solid light illusion of a white pony unicorn. /This will work.\ I have it knock on the door. After a few moments, the door is opened by a small drake. He sighs in relief when he sees the fake pony.
"Hey, what do you need."
I throw my voice slightly, adding a fake hint of fear and worry. "I need to see twilight. Can I please come in? It's urgent."
He nods. "Ok buddy. Come inside." He moves out of the way.
I have the fake pony shake his hand happily. "Thank you." I walk in with the pony. I see twilight surrounded by floating books. "Hello there twilight."
She nods to the pony. "Hi. I'm a bit busy, what do you need?"
"What's going on around here? What happened?"
"A monster came out of a box and is trying to take over Equestria. I'm trying to stop it."
I nod slowly, along with the fake pony. "And how do you plan to do that?"
"A spell that can imprison him, or kill him, or get rid of him in any way."
"Do you really think that would work?"
She nods. "If I can find one."
I smirk to myself, still hidden. I decide to see how smart she actually is. "There isn't a spell strong enough. Trust me."
She looks at the pony. "How would you know?"
"I checked. You don't have a spell that could stop me."
"What do you mean? Stop you?"
Both me and the fake pony smirk. "You've been a bad pony twilight."
She gets nervous. "What do you mean?"
I drop the disguise, myself taking the pony's place. "You have run off, and taken two others with you. You all will be punished for your disobedience." The ponies and drake gasp at the reveal.
Twilight speaks with an incredulous tone"How did you find us?"
I smirk at her. "It was easy. I asked Celestia, and she told me." /Perfect. Make her lose her trust in the white bitch.\
She stammers a bit. "No... She wouldn't tell you that."
"Oh but she did. She sold you lot out. Now, as I said, you are all coming back to the castle." I pick the three of them up in a ball of light. They all fight against it of course, but to no avail. To my surprise, I get jumped by the drake. He lands on my back and starts hitting me. I sigh a bit and pull him off. I hold him out by his neck. "What do you think you're going to accomplish?"
He glares at me. "I am saving twilight and rarity!" He shoots fire at my face, but runs out of breath after a few seconds. His jaw drops when he sees my bemused look. "What? But how?"
"Well, first off... let me point out that you completely forgot to add applejack to your list of ponies you're trying, and failing, to save. So clearly you don't care much about her. But now for your confusion. I am basically a god. Your fire will never be strong enough to stop me. But you... I could kill you in an instant." The eyes of the four all widen in shock. "Maybe I will kill you. Maybe I won't. Who knows." I pull an old coin out of my pocked dimension. "Tails I kill you, Heads I don't." I smirk at him as I notice twilight and rarity start to cry out, begging me not to. Applejack looks pissed. I don't know if it's at me or the drake. "So, feeling lucky punk?" I flip it in the air.
~~Ok people who read this... I didn't kill spike yet for one reason only. I don't know what you will do about it. I figured it's a safe bet that first blood should be drawn, and spike is not much of a character anyway. Basically humdrum. But I decided to make a vote of it. Leave a comment, heads or tails. I'll tally it up over the next two weeks, and he will either live or die. Now, he isn't getting off as easy as that if he lives. But I just won't kill him. I may do something worse to him.
