Chapters The garden of the house of Duke Night Light were decorated festively for his 50th birthday courtesty of Pinkie Pie.Sounds of laughter and talking were heared from the guest but their joy cannot be compared to Princess Twilight Sparkle who was nuzzling her father at the veranda.
"Happy birthday dad."she said as she took out a gift from her saddle bag with her magic and gave it to Night Light.
Night Light looked estactic when she presented her gift which was a book titeled 'Intensive study on Pony Medicine'by Doctor Medical Health.Night Light is the director of Canterlot Medical Centre.
"How did you know."
"Your my dad of course I know what you want for your birthday and it dosen't take a genius to figure out you really want this book.You told Spike to tell me."
His father smile sheapishly.She gave her dad a kiss on the cheek and hugged her dad.Their momment were ended by a familiar Stallion.
"Happy Birthday,dad.Sorry for being late."
Night Light pulled Shining Armor into a stalliony(manly) hug.He then greeted Cadence with a kiss on the

He flash a slight curios look at Cadence ."Uhm...yes."
"Don't you have something to tell me, I don't know maybe....about foals."
Twilight steped in front of her father."You have to forgive dad,he just can't wait to be a grandpa."
Cadence and Shining Armor's faces turned red.
Shining scratched his head."We....uh haven't got much time to you know to make foals..."
"But I can assure you Night Light,we are planning to have a foal."she said while giving a wink to her husband.
"Well when you do have a foal and you two need some alone time you can leave him or her with his Grandpa Night Light."
Cadence chuckled and put a hoof on his shoulder."We'll keep that in mind."
"There you are,the guest are wondering where Duke Night Light is..."said a voice coming from a mare with a white coat and purple and white mane.
"Oh I'm just talking to my kids and daughter in law."
Cadence and Shining Armor greeted Twilight Velvet with a nuzzle and kiss on the cheek.
Suddenly,Pinkie Pie came in front of Night Light wearing a party hat."Duke Night Light your needed at the party after all this is your birthday party and what is a birthday party without the birthday pony."
Twilight grabbed his hoof."C'mon dad,let's enjoy your party."
Night Light gentelly put her hoof down."I'm waiting for somepony,you guys go ahead."
"Well,okay then but don't wait to long."Twilight said before she was dragged out of the veranda by Pinkie Pie.
Night Light watched as he saw them gallioping towards the garden.His main focus however was Twilight,her little filly.He wonders somtime who would take care of her when his gone.Not that she can't take care of herself,she defeated Tirek for pony sakes.It's just that,he wants Twilght to have a stallion that will be there for her always and love her too no end.Luckily,he found just the stallion who can do just that.
His toughts were disturbed by a certain white stallion with a blond mane."Professor Night Light."
Night Light smiled warmly at that stallion and him also."Blueblood,I thought you won't show up."
Twilight Sparkle took a sip from her apple cider at a table with Rainbow Dash,Applejack and Fluttershy.Pinkie Pie was dancing to the poney pokey on the dance floor while Rarity was mingeling with some nobels.As she took another sip from her cider she heared Rarity's shrill voice that sounded like she was annoyed with something or somepony.
Rarity took an apple cider from a passing waiter pony and sat down with her friends.
She gulped down her drink with one shot.Twilight spoke up first."Ummm Rarity do you mind telling us why your all irritated. "
Rarity scoffed."Irritated is not the right word to decribe what I'm feeling right now.I'm more furious."
"At who."said Rainbow Dash with a confused look on her face as well as the other ponies.
Rarity smacked her hoof on the table."At that snobbish,vain Prince Blueblood of course."
"Dangnabbit,why's that no good,stuck up noble here at Duke Night Light's birthday party."It was Applejack's turn to smack the table.
"Calm down girls,for all we've know he's changed."Twilight tried to calm the situation.
"Him.... changed....I don't think so."replied Rarity.
"Well...has he did anything bad to you at the party recently."spoke Fluttershy.
Rarity hung her head down.Her once angry expression turned into shame."Well,no."
"Then,maybe there is slight possibility he's changed.."Adviced Twilight.
"But he insulted my fritters.No one insults my fritters."
"Actually your fritters were actually smashing."The five mares turned their heads to the pony from who that compliment came from.To their astonishment it was Prince Blueblood.
Rarity jumped in front of him and pointed a hoof towards his face."You."She said in a shrill voice."Do you know how much you annoyed me at the Grand Galloping Gala the last two years."
Blueblood tried to back up as Rarity was stalking him only to bump into Applejack.
He hunged his head low in shame.He took a deep breath and sighed."I'm sorry for being such a total jerk to you and Miss Applejack."Rarity and Applejack backed away from him.
He continued."You see,before the night of the Grand Galloping Gala I had a teribble day and I wasn't in the mood to go to a party but my friend said it can help me let of some steam.So,I went anyway and I was very annoyed that you were swooning over me.I thought you were just like the other gold digging mares who were only after me for my wealth and title.So,I acted like a pompus,stuck up noble in hopes you'll give up.I know that I went to far when I used you as a shield."
"Again sorry about that."He said after noticing Rarity look of displeasure.
He turned his gaze towards Applejack"And Applejack I want to appologize being very rude about you fritters.They were actually very good,extremely good to be exact."
"Why,a week ago I bought all your pastries from a filly named Applebloom in a school bake sale.When I went home I devoured all your treats in one day which was not a good idea."Blueblood shrugged his shoulder of the memmory him having constipations after eating too much of Aplejack's treats.
"You mean your that stallion Applebloom's been talking about that helped her and her friends win the new scooter for scotaloo."
"Yes."Blueblood noded.His faced turned serious."Went I went home I realise that I was an idiot for treating you horribly,just because I had a bad day.I wanted to apologize right away but..."

Twilight cleared her voice which got their attention.They turned around to face her."So,now that were all okay now Prince Blueblood."

"Alright Blue take a sit next to me and let us make a toast to..."

"Okay."He walked towards Twilight and took a seat next to her.
His heart was pounding.This is the closest he has ever been with Twilight Sparkle.Being Princess Celestia's nephew,he would often see Twilight with his aunt but he never got the courage to talk to her.It was like everytime he wanted to speak to her,he would froze and won't know what to say or do.Princess Celestia knows he has a huge crush on Twilight Sparkle since the day she introduced her to him
Twilight and Rarity raised their glass with their magic while their other friends used their hooves.Blueblood on the other hoof used his hoof instead of magic to pick up his drink.
"Let's make a toast to my father,Night Light who we celebrate on this day and to our new found friendship with Prince..I mean Blue."They clink their glasses.

As Blue dranked his drink he couldn't help but look at Twilight.Those gorgeous purple eyes and the lovely way she speaks makes his heart melt.As,he was watching Twilight,he did not notice he was tipping his glass.Twilight noticed this.She put down her glass and quickly used her magic to avoid him spilling his drink.
He scratched his head in embarrassment.His face turning red."Oh,silly me for not noticing that.Sorry to trouble you Twilight.
"Not at all Blue."Twilight continued to drink her beverage when she heared Shining Armor calling her.
"I'm coming."She replied."Sorry girls I have to go."

With that Twilight galloped towards her family at the veranda.
Blueblood was a little disappointed.He thought,if he had the courage he could strike up a conversation with her.Well maybe this is a good thing,he might say something stupid and make Twilight feel awkward.
"Ya like her don't ye."said Applejack making Blueblood broke his train of thoughts.

"Woah pinkie slow down,Blue here judging how nervous he was with Twilight.Ah think ye have some sorta confidence issue when talking to Twilight."
"Exactly.I talk to other ponies perfectly but when it comes to Twilight I stutter my words,I don't know what to do."Blueblood sighed."Maybe it's just me but sometimes I wonder why would an amazing mare like her even talk to a stallion like me."

Rarity's speech did not motivate Blueblood.It only made him feel more pathetic."Those were my ancestors,not me Rarity.All of you and Twilight saved Equestria dozens of time.The only thing I see to do as a prince is look handsone and appear in social gatherings.I don't deserve to be a Prince as much as I don't deserve to be with Princess Twilight Sparkle.
Applejack smiled sympathetically at Blueblood and put a hoof over his shoulder"Don't put yourself to low Blue.Twilight's not a pony who looks down on other ponies.You seem like a nice guy who likes Twilight sincerly.If you just tell her how you feel I bet she would definitely fall for ye."
"Uh...excuse me."The group turn their heads towards Fluttershy."Sorry to burst your bubbles but Twilight talked to me the other day and she said she was seeing a pegasus stallion in the royal guards named Flash Sentry.Sorry Blue."
Blueblood felt his heart being crushed."Oh." was all he could say.His crush was taken by another.He kind of expected this but he didn't knew it would hurt this bad.He sighed."See,told you."Blueblood started to walk away from the group with head hunged low.The mane 5 felt sorry for him,they wish they could do something.
The party went on and Blueblood sat at a table alone watching the ponies do their buisness and ocassionaly gulping an apple cider.He didn't want to think about Twilight but the more he resisted the more he thought about her.Soon enough,the party was over and the guest started to leave.Blueblood thought about leaving and getting back to work on his invention.Although,he's a pediatrician surgeon,he invents medical equipments that are used in Canterlot Medical Centre and other hospitals throughout Equestria.
At a young age he had a talent for inventing.Being magically retrarded,he invented machines to make his life as well as others more easier.Most ponies thought his cutie mark was a star but it's actually a spark that represents ideas and inventions.He invented the first circuit board,the first computer controlled machine known to ponykind.He revolutionized science by creating the first artificial intelligence interface system and that was all before he was fifteen.
Not only,he is a inventing whiz he is also a medical genius.He garduated medical school three years after enrolling.His inteligence caught Duke Night Light's attention,so he pulled a few strings and had him posted to Canterlot Medical Centre.He proved to be a brilliant doctor.Just recently,he and Duke Night Light invented the cure for magically retarded unicorns and flightless pegasi.He was esctactic that future generations will not have to live like 'ground pegasi' or 'horned earth ponies.'The cure however did not cure him.
Suddenly a purple baby dragon came dashing towards Blueblood.
Spike stopped running when he reached Blueblood and took a momment to catch his breath."Duke....Night...Light wants you to go ....to his study...immediately.He....said..it was...important and can you give me a lift."said Spike before he collapsed.
Blueblood thought what could Duke Night Light possibly want.Was it because he did something wrong to a patient.
Blueblood ingored all his thoughts.He quickly put Spike on his back and dashed to Duke Night Light's study.
When they reached the doors of Duke Night's study,Blueblood knocked on the door and waited for a reply.He entered the room when the door was opened by somepony's magic,he persume it was Duke Night Light as his magical aura was blue.
Spike got of Blueblood's back as he did not feel tired anymore.He saw Duke Night light with his wife as well as Shining Armor,Princess Cadence and Twilight.He was suprised to see his aunt,Princess Celestia.
"Aunt Celestia...what are you doing here."asked Blueblood.
"Take a seat Blueblood,me and your aunt have much to discuss about."said Duke Night Light.
Blueblood took a seat next to his aunt avoiding Shining Armor's cold glare.Twilight was also confused as to why they were all gathered.
Duke Night Light cleared his throat."As you may know,Prince Blueblood has been working under me in Canterlot Medical Centre for almost four years and he has proven to me that he is a responisible,honest and dedicated.With patients,he is gentle,loving and caring espacially towards foals and the elderly."Night Light said while smiling at Blueblood.
It was Twilight Velvet's turn to talk."We've discuss this with Princess Celestia and she agreed to it wholeheartedly...."she loked at Princess Celestia who smiled in return.
Twilight interupted her mother."Wait,what is it."
"Twilight,your mother,Princess Celestia and I have agreed to join you and Prince Blueblood in marriage."
"WHAT!!!"shouted Twilight.She couldn't believe her parents want her to marry a stallion she dosen't even know let alone love.Blueblood however was a little shocked but slightly happy.
"Dad,you can't force Twilight to marry him of all stallion.He dosen't deserve her."pointed Shining Armor.
"You watch your tounge Shining Armor,he is more than qualified to be your sister's husband."
"But dad why do you even what me to get married.I'm only twenty-four for ponysakes."
Twilight Velvet put a hoof on her daughter's shoulder."Twilight,we only want you to have a stallion in your life so that will take care of you like your father has done for me."
"I can take care of myself thank you very much."Twilight crossed her forelegs.
Princess Celestia stepped foward and touched her student's face."Twilight,now that you are a princess there are many duties you must attend to.I know you can do them all but you need help.Blueblood would surely help you and give you moral support."
"I'm sorry to say this Princess Celestia but......YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME if you want me to marry Prince Blueblood."Twilight said in a loud voice.Princess Celestia was shocked by her student's brashness.
She pointed at Blueblood."I mean...him...we don't have anything in common.I don't even know he does for a living and you expect me to marry him when I don't even love him."
"But,Twilight you can you learn to love him through your marriage."said Cadence.
"Whose side are you on."Shining Armor said shocked at his wife for choosing to support the marriage.
Twilight turned her head towards Blueblood."And I am sure you don't even want to marry me Blueblood."

He was interupted by Duke Night Light."Twilight this is ridiculous.Blueblood is would make an excellent husband."
Twilight smacked her hoof on the floor."For the final time I will not marry his royal highness Prince Blueblood.We are not a perfect match.Why would you even make me marry a unicorn who can't even do magic."
"Twilight Sparkle,I have never seen you so rude to somepony."Chidded Celestia dissapointed at her student.
Twilight was shocked to hear this from her mentor.Has she really gone too far.She looked back at him,his face crestfallen."I...uh."
That last sentence hurt Blueblood.He kind of expected Twilight to disapprove but he didn't know she'll be that harsh.He sighed."Professor Night Light,Duchess Twilight Velvet,Twilight dosen't seem to like this idea.So,I think it's best if we don't get married.I think I better leave."Blueblood walked to the door with Princess Celestia in suit.Suddenly,a cry of pain came from Duke Night Light.All the ocuppants of the room including Blueblood turned around and saw him faint.
"Dad."cried Shining Armor and Twilight as they rushed to their father with Cadence following them.Their mother was holding the unconscious stallion in her forelegs and panicking.
Blueblood sprang into action,his doctor instincts kicking in.He went to Duke Night Light but was blocked by Shining Armor.
"I thought you were leaving."said Shining Armor coldly.
"Prince Shining Armor please.I can help your father.
Shining Armor scoffed."I wouldn't let you treat me let alone my father."
Clestia had enough of ponies not treating Blueblood with respect."Enough."She said loudly and in an angry tone.
"Captain Shining Armor enough of your negative thoughts towards my nephew.I did not expect you to be so arrogant towards him.Now,unless you want to save your father,let Doctor Blueblood treat him as he is the onlypony in this room who actually knows a thing about treating other ponies."
Shining Armor glared at Blueblood for a while and reluctantly give way for Blueblood to pass.He didn't want to make Celestia angry or loose his job.
Blueblood rushed to Duke Night Light.Twilight and her mother who were in tears gave way for Blueblood and stood beside Cadence who was trying to calm them down.
He first took of his vest and tie to allow blood ciruclation.He then checked his heart rate and found that it was very fast.Ventricular tachycardia he thought was the problem.Somepony who has Ventricular tachycardia has a very fast heartbeat.It caused by a malfunction in one of the heart’s ventricles.This is very dangerous as it can lead to a cardiac arrest.
He immediately get on Duke Night Light and gave him CPR.He pumped his heart vigorously.He was too focused on the task at hand that he didn't notice the two paramedics that Twilight had summoned earlier using her magic.
"Doctor Blueblood we'll take it from here."said one of the paramedics,a unicorn stallion.
He didn't stop.Celestia had to pry him from Duke Night Light in order to make him stop.
The paredemics immediately put Duke Night Light on a stretcher and rolled him out of the house and into the ambulance carriage pulled by two earth pony stallions.Twilight along with her mother and brother boarded the ambulance.The ambulance took off leaving Celestia,Cadence and Blueblood to deal with the shocked guests.
"Not to worry everypony,Duke Night Light is on his way to the hospital.He'll be fine.However,I think it's best for everypony to leave."said Celestia.
The guest start leaving accept for the mane 5.They all came towards Blueblood.
"What happened ,is Twilght's dad gonna be okay."said Rainbow Dash.
"Well..his heartbeat was extremely fast.I manged to slow it down a little bit."
The mane 5 had concerns looks on their faces.
"Don't worry he's a strong stallion for his age,he'll pull through."Said Blueblood reassuringly.
He turn his head towards his Aunt Tia."If it's fine with you Aunt Tia,I think I should go to the hospital to check on Duke Night Light.."
Applejack cut in."Can we go too.At times like this Twilight needs her friends by her side."The mane 5 nodded in agreement.
"Me too."Said Cadence.
Celestia looked at the worried faces starting at her."You don't need my permission to do that.You may all go.I'll join you all later but for now I have to deal with the media."
They all nodded and Celestia went to the reporters waiting at the gates to answer thier questions.
The mane 5 along with Cadence and Blueblood wasted no time to get to Canterlot Medical Centre where Duke Night Light was sent to.As a doctor working in the hospital,Blueblood had no trouble leading them to the emergency ward.In the hallways leading to the operation room they found Duke Night Light's family waiting with tears staining their faces.
The mane 5 immediately pulled Twilight into a big hug whereas Cadence comforted her husband.Blueblood sat next to Twiligh Velvet.
"Will he be okay,tell me honestly..please."
"Ventricular tachycardia is a....very dangerous...condition.It is caused by a malfunction in one of the heart's verticles."he said in a hushed tone.
Twilight Velvet grimaced at the tought of her husband in that very dangerous condition."What are his chances of surviving."
"Well....Ventricular tachycardia does not necesserily lead to death.I say with proper treatment he has a fifty percent chance of surviving.Don't worry the doctor's here are experts at what they do."
Suddenly,the doors of the operating room swung wide open.A unicorn stallion came out of the door with the rest of the medical team.
The sparkle family immediatly surrounded the unicorn stallion."Doctor is my father alright."said Twilight.
The doctor smiled."It was fortunate his heartbeat was slowed down or else he would not be alive now.He is in a more stabalized condition now.You may visit him now in ward 15 but only family members are allowed"
Twilight said goodbye to his friend and went off to with her family to ward 15.
When they arrived,at ward 15,Twilight was shocked to see her father with wires and life machines connected to him at every part of his body.He had a bandage wrapped around his chest.
"Twilight.....Shining..Velvet.."said Duke Night Light weakely.
The quartet went towards the very ill stallion with looks of concern and worries.
Twilight was already in tears."Dad....Your going to be alright right."
He sighed."I'm a doctor Twilight I know my time will not be long."
"No!You'll be okay."Twilight Velvet and Shining can only stand there and cried silent tears.
Night Light hold her daughter's hoof."Everything must come to an end.This why I want you to marry Prince Blueblood.I die a happy stallion knowing that my daughter will have a stallion that will love her as much as I love you.Please Twilight,fulfill my final wish."
Shining Armor strongly opposed the marriage.He has a strong disliking towards Blueblood but he said nothing out of his respect to his father.
Twilight had mix feeling about this.A part of her wants to go against his father's wishes and be with Flash Sentry the stallion that she truly loves but a part of her wants to sumbit to her father's wishes and marry Blueblood.She had a choice between what she wants and what her dying father wants.So,with a heavy heart she decided that she will be an obediant daughter.
"I'll marry Blueblood.....for you dad."
Night Light smiled happily."Thank you,Twilight.You've made me very happy."He turn his gaze towards his wife."Honey,wil be getting a son in-law."
Although she was in tears,she managed to smile.Shining Armor looked at his LSBFF,a look of sadness was on her face.
Blueblood and the mane 5 were waiting anxiously for some news about Night Light.Soon,they were joined by Princess Celestia.She had already deal with the nosy reporters.
The silence was broken by Princess Cadence who went back to tell Blueblood that Night Light wanted to talk to him.The rest asked Cadence about Night Light's condition.She didn't reply.
The mane 5 and Celestia can guess that Night Light is in a bad condition.
Blueblood opened the door to the ward.It saddens him to see the stallion he look up as a father in a weak and feeble state.He could see Twilight was standing next to him.
"I leave you three alone."said Cadence as she exited.
"Blueblood,come closer."
Blueblood went to his side opposite Twilight everting her gaze.
"About the marriage,Twilight has agreed to do it."
Blueblood couldn't believe his words.Just a momment ago Twilight had said that she will never marry him but now she agreed to marry him.
"Re..Really."
Night Light nodded."Yes,so do you agree to marry Twilight."
"Well seeing that Twilight has agreed and you and aunt Tia seem so eager for us to get married.Then,I will marry Twilight."
Night Light smiled."Thank you,Blueblood."He turn his gaze towards Twilight."I can't wait to escort you down the aisle."
"Well to do that you need to be healthy.Rest,listen to the doctors and don't think about work.I'm sure Doctor Needles can fill in your shoes as the director of Canterlot Medical Centre for a while."
Night Light chuckled."Yes,doctor."
"If you don't mind I think I should go."
"Very well then"
Bluelood smiled and exited the room.The second he exited the room Twilight turned to her father."Dad,I think should call Mom and Shining back here."
"Go ahead."
She exited the room soon enough to see Blueblood walking along the corridor.He trotted over to Blueblood and pulled him into a nearby storage room.She locked the door making sure nobody noticed them.
Blueblood was suprised by the sudden act."Twilight...what are you doing?"
"Why did you agreed to marry me."
He shrugged his shoulders."Well...why did you agree to marry me?"
"I asked you first."she said firmly.
"Because I have a debt to pay to your father for he has helped me a lot in so many way and I am a firm believer that you need to obey your parents in my case Princess Celestia who is like a mother to me.This is also one of the ways I can do my duties as a prince."
"So,your only doing this out of duty and responsibility."
Blueblood took a deep breathe."Yes.What about you."
"I only did this for my father.I don't want to dissapoint him at this time.Even,at the cost of breaking up with the stallion I love."
Blueblood guessed that 'stallion I love' must be Flash Sentry.He sighed."I guess Flash Sentry is some guy."
Twilight glared at him."YOU DON'T KNOW MY FLASH.How did you know his name...nevemind.You don't know him.He's the most nicest and chivalrous stallion I have ever met.You'll never be him."
"Okay,I'm sorry.I've gone too far."
Twilight scoffed."Indeed it was too far."She went closer to him and point her hoof towards Blueblood."Your such a pushover for agreeing to marry someone who you don't love right away."She stormed out of the room.
Blueblood kept her gaze on her."No,Twilight.I love you.I've been in love with you since I was ten."
The fake Flash Sentry
Twilight was walking along the streets of Canterlot on a quiet night at 3.00 a.m.It was just her there.Her family and friends had already fell into deep slumbers.Earlier,she had talk to her friends about the marriage.
Rainbow Dash thought it was wrong for her father to force her to marry Blueblood.Even though she had forgiven Blueblood,she still didn't trust him.Also,the thought of Twilight married seems lame.
Rarity,Fluttershy and Applejack told Twilight that marrying Blueblood was the right thing to do for the sake of her father.Pinkie Pie was ecstatic.She was already planning the wedding reception mentally.Spike didn't know what to say to her.He only told her to do what jet heart tells her to.
Right know she felt the only pony that can comfort her was Flash Sentry.She soon saw him at the conner of a street,looking as handsome as always.She rushed towards him and greeted him with a nuzzle.
"I miss you so much."Spoke Twilight.
"I miss you more."
The couple broke off from their nuzzle.
"So,what do you wanna tell me.It sounds urgent."
Twilight took a deep breath."There's no easy way to say this.I hope you can forgive me."
Flash had a puzzled look one his face."For what."
"I..have ...to marry Prince Blueblood."Tears were streaming down her face.
"What...no..you can't marry him.What about us?I love you."Flash hugged her tightly but Twilight pulled back.
"My father is dying,Flash.This is his last wish and I have to fulfill his wish because...I'm his daughter."
"No,he doesn't have the right to tell you who to marry."Anger rouse in Flash Sentry.Twilight is a grown mare.She can decide how live her life and who to marry herself.
"I'm sorry Flash but I have to do what's best for my dad.I love him and I don't want to disappoint him.Espacially at a time like this."
"Well what about me?Don't you love me?"
Twilight immediately put her hoof on his face."I do love you.This pains me really it does.Do you think I want to marry Prince Blueblood?No.I would rather marry you."
Flash grabbed her hoof and held it tight."Then,why are you marrying him.Leave him."
"No.I won't do that."She lets go of Flash's hoof."You are the nicest stallion I have ever met and you are my first love.Don't you ever forget that.I love you Flash Sentry."
She took one final look at Flash and teleported to her bedroom in her castle in Poneyville.For the whole night she just stayed on her bed and cried.
Flash Sentry was left in the streets of Canterlot angered.He has to tell his mother about what had happened.He knew she won't be pleased.
He made his way to his house which was just around the corner from where he met Twilight.After shutting the door,he closed the curtains and made sure that nopony was watching.
He then close his eyes and recite a chant and immediately his orange coat turned into a pitch black caprice.His mane turned dark green and his teeth turned into fangs.This was the real him.He was a changeling.Suddenly, he felt his horn was throbbing and glowing green.This was a sign that Queen Chrysalis wanted to talk to him.He sighed and allowed the image of Chrysallis to form.
The changeling monarch smiled at her son,the General of Changeling Army, Draco.
Draco bowed to Chrysalis."Mother."
"Draco my son,the love Twilight Sparkle had given you has bring power to the changelings.We must have more."
Draco's horn began to glow in a green aura.The green aura shined on his body and it let out a pink liquid.He then teleported the liquid to Chrysalis.Draco could see that Chrysalis was smiling as she was absorbing the liquid.She finished consuming the liquid and looked towards Draco.
"Keep on the good work Draco.You must gather more love from Twilight Sparkle in order to give more power to the changelings so we may take over Equestria."
Draco scratched his head awkwardly."Yeah....about that.The thing is...Twilight..has to marry some guy and she just broke up with me."
"WHAT."Chrysalis was furious.Draco kept his gaze on the floor.Not even daring to look at the changeling queen in the eye."You fool.Did you do something to make her dislike you."
Draco shaked his head."No,no,no.Look,she's marrying this stallion Prince Blueblood because her dad's dying and he wants her to marry him."
Chrysalis groaned."Ughh.Forced marriages.So,dramatic."She glared at her son menacingly ."You listen very carefully.Make Twilight Sparkle leave her soon to be husband and make her marry you.Once you are married,you will be able to harness all her magic.So,don't mess this up."
Draco nodded."I won't let you down.Just one question,why am I going after Twilight when I can go after the Princess of love,Cadence."
"True,Cadence is the princess of love but Twilight Sparkle's magic is much powerful than Cadence's magic.Besides,haven't you heared that minimum love is friendship and maximum friendship is love.So,why settle for less when you can settle for more."
Draco nodded in agreement."I understand."
"Alright then,I must go back and remember focus on this mission."
Draco gave a formal salute."Yes,Ma'am."
The image of Chrysalis soon disappeared.After it had gone,Draco was planning strategies to win Twilight back.He'll do whatever it takes even at the cause of committing murder.He didn't care.After all he had already killed the real Flash Sentry.
"Well Night,your vitals are stabalized which means you can be discharged this afternoon."Said Doctor Scalpel.
Twilight,Twilight Velvet and Night Light breathe a breath of relief.It had been over a month since Night Light was hospitalized.Twilight and Shining Armor had visited their father three times a week.All of the nursing and tender loving care had paid off and Night Light made a quick recovery.
Doctor Scalpel's face turned serious."But beware,rapid and irregular heart rhythm can happen anytime.So,it is vital to take your medicine on time and not to skip it."
"Thank you,Scalpel.I'll start working tomorrow."Said Night Light to his old friend.
Velvet lightly hit his husband on the hoof."You'll do no such thing.Work and stress won't help a bit in your recovery."
"She's right,Night.Work won't help.Take a long vacation to ease your tension."
"It's just that tomorrow me and Blueblood ar going to perform the first operation to cure a flightless pegasus.His never done this without me.He might need me."
"He'll be fine on his own.You said it yourself that he's one of the skilled surgeon you've ever encountered.He even discovered the cure with you.Don't worry."Night Light was still unsure."Now,if you'll excusee me I have to visit another patient."With that Doctor Scalpel exited the room.
Twilight was a little bit shocked that Blueblood had discovered the cure with her father.Maybe,there's more to him then meets the eye.
She turned her attention towards her father.She gave him a warm nuzzle."I'm so glad your going to be alright dad."
"That means I can escort you down the aisle."Said Night Light cheerfully.
Twilight mood became sour at the mention at the wedding but she still put on a fake smile."Yeah."
"Ah..I just remembered I have some notes about the syrgery that Blueblood will be doing on my desk.Can you give it to him.I think he's at the pediatric wing.You might find him in the playroom.If you can't find him then,ask one of the doctor's to put the notes on his desk."
"Sure."
"Oh and remember sweety you and Blueblood will meet your friends at the castle to discuss about the wedding preperations."Said Twilight Velvet.Twilight had asked her friends to take on the role that they had take during her brother's wedding.
Twilight couldn't hold it in anymore."I KNOW."Said Twilight as she slammed the door.
Being the daughter of the hospital's director.She knew her way around the hospital from all her visits during when she was a filly.After grabbing her father's notebook,she head towards the playroom in the pediatric wing.
She reached in front of the door but she didn't open it.Instead,she went in front of the window and saw Blueblood sitting in front of a group of fillies and foals and showing them a strange device.The children all were amazed at the metal contraption that looked like a dog.Blueblood had explained earlier that it was called a 'robot.'
He pushed a button on the robot dog's side and it moved foward while wagging its tail and barking.That was nice of Blueblood,Twilight thought.Blueblood smiled as the fillies and colts marveled at his invention.She then noticed his eyes darted at a pegasus filly with a red coat and blue mane.She wasn't paying attention to the robot like the other children but instead she was looking at the floor with a frown on her face.
Blueblood went to her and put a hoof on her shoulder."Butter Jelly,what's wrong?"
Butter Jelly faced Blueblood."Nothing."
"Hey,don't be like that tell me what's wrong.Are you afraid of the surgery tomorrow."
"No,I'm actually afraid that...the surgery won't cure me and if it did will I be as great at flying as the other pegasi."
Blueblood stared at her for a moment and suddenly a thought came to his head."Everypony gather around the piano."Instructed Blueblood to the children.
The fillies and colts gathered around the piano in the corner.Butter Jelly sat in the front row as told by Blueblood.
"You see,children.When I was small I like to invent stuff.There was one invention that didn't go the way I hoped.I tried dozens of times but it still didn't work.So,I gave up but...that was until I heard a very inspirational song.Do you want to here it? "
The children including Butter Jelly nodded.
"Okay,Melody Song come here."
The filly went to Blueblood.His whispered something to her ear and she immediately nodded her head and played a tune on the piano.

Blueblood finished the song and was greeted by an applauding audience.Butter Jelly was espacially clapping loudly.
"What I'm trying to say is that if you have a dream don't let the fear of failing get in your way.Dreams won't come true if you stop believing.Each day you get another chance to make dreams into reality.To tell you the truth,the secret to achieving your dreams is hard work,faith and determanation.Do you understand kids...Chaser...Bouncy..Butter Jelly?"
Butter Jelly nodded with a smile.She felt more reassured.
"We understand,Doctor Blueblood."Said all the children simultaneously,
Twilight shook her head,she had been enthralled by Blueblood's singing and words.She opened the door and made her way into the playroom.All of the occupants of the room turned their heads towards the alicorn princess.The children including Blueblood bowed to their monarch.Twilight blushed and told them to stop.
Blueblood stood quickly and made sure his mane was neat.Twilight hated when he did that.It always makes his mane more messier.
"Twilight,what brings you here."
"My dad told me to give you the notes about the surgery you'll be doing tomorrow."She passed over the notebook to Blueblood with her magic.
"Thank you."Twilight nodded and turned around and made her way out.
Alright,now or never Blueblood thought.He went over to Twilight.
"My shifts over,so....uh do you wannt t-to go to the castle together."
"I don't see why we should go together?"
"Well..for one we are getting married.So,we...should..you know, act like a c-couple."
"Look,Blueblood...."Twilight didn't get to finish her sentence as Butter Jelly suddenly came in between them.
"Wow you're getting married to Princess Twilight.That's wonderful,Doctor Blue."said Butter Jelly excitedly.
Twilight looked a little annoyed whereas Blueblood chuckled while scratching his head."It sure is."
"Doctor Blue is right Princess.You two should act more like a couple."She pushed the two out of the playroom."Have fun but not to much fun."With that Butter Jelly closed the door.
"So,are we going together."
Twilight glanced at Butter Jelly who was observing through the window with a big smile.She didn't have a choice in this."Fine,let's go."
The entire walk to the castle was akaward.Blueblood had tried to make a conversation with Twilight but she would just replay in short answers.After a few failed tries,he thought it was best to just keep quiet.
Finally,they had reached the doors to the castle meeting room.As soon as Twilight entered the room,she was pulled by Rarity who had a measuring tape wrapped around her neck.
"Finally,you're here."
Blueblood went off to greet the rest of the mane five or at least tried too.Pinkie Pie was busy choosing conffeti,Applejack was planning the menu,Fluttershy was training her bird choir and Rainbow Dash was up in the air practising her stunts.With nothing to do,he just watched Twilight fidgeting while Rarity was taking her measurements.
"Oh,darling please do stay still.Don't you want your wedding dress to be spectacular."
"It dosen't have to be that spectacular.It's just a small wedding not many ponies are invited.Not many ponies are going to see my dress."Earlier,Twilight had disagreed to hold a grand wedding fitting for a princess much to her friends and parents dismay.
"Well,grand wedding or not.I'm not letting my friend's wedding dress be a disaster.So,just stand still aleready."Twilight stoped her fidgeting and let Rarity do her work.
"Uhmm...do you need me to do anything?"Blueblood wanted to have some part in the wedding preperations.
"There is one thing."Said a regal voice.
Blueblood knew quite well who owned that voice.He turned his towards the door and smiled at his Aunt Tia.
"Princess Celestia,I didn't expect to see you here."Said the lavender alicorn.
"I'm just checking on the wedding preperation.It seems that everything is going splendidly.Also,I want to call Blueblood to try on his suit."She began to exit the meeting room with Blueblood in tow."Keep up the good work everypony."
Celestia led Blueblood to his old quaters where he onced lived in the castle as a little colt.On the bed, he saw the ivory tunic of the ceremonial outfit of the prince of Equestria that was emboirded with Celestia's sun and Luna's moon on the collar and the blue sash of the most noble order of the pheonix.His heart sank when he saw the medal of valor.The medal is awarded to those who had done brave deeds in the fields of battle.
He sighed."Aunt Tia,do I really have to wear that."
"Of course,it's compulsory as a prince of Equestria to wear the ceremonial uniform."
"It's bad enought that the outfit looks like an officer's uniform to add the medal of valor,every glare will be on me on my wedding day."
Celestia sighed."Dear nephew,have you still not let go of the past.It's been years.Everypony has surely forgiven you by now."
Blueblood scoffed."Not Shining Armor.How can I let it go when I was responsible for the death of those who had served alongside me."He turned his back away from Celestia.
The griffon war which happend eight years ago was the result of the griffon kingdom who wanted to expand their borders.They had conquered Saddle Arabia and Prance.Princess Celestia at first did not want Equestria to get involve but when the griffon air force attacked Fillydelphia,that's when Equestria joined the war.Blueblood had joined the army and was sent to the front lines.During that time Blueblood was promoted to the the rank of lieutennant.One night,he was given the order to lead his team to patrol the area.On the patrol they saw two griffin soldiers.Blueblood thought that his team could take them down.He was wrong.Turns out the two griffons were with a whole section.That night,Blueblood's whole team was killed.He was injured but he managed to survive.
"Blueblood,look at me."He didn't listen."Look at me when I'm talking to you."Said Celeatia,this time with a more commanding voice.
He finally faced her.Celestia gentally stroked his mane."That tragedy was your fault but also it wasn't.Death is not something we can control.Even if you are in a fort high above the mountains death will come for you.They died because it was their time."
"But..."
Celestia sushed him."Blueblood,I love you.You are like a son to me.I don't want you to feel like this espacially at a time when you are about to be a husband.A husband needs to be brave so he can comfort his wife at times of distress and protect her at any cirumstances but how can you be brave when you are still haunted by your past.You must let it go.Do you understand me,Blueblood?"
He looked at his aunt in the eyes."Yes,auntie."
Celestia smiled and nuzzled Blueblood."Good.Now,go try on your suit."
Twilight stared blankly at the wedding invitation in front of her.
'You are cordially invited to the wedding of Her Royal Highness Princess Twilight Sparkle and His Grace Prince Blueblood.
It's clearly not right.Her groom wasn't supposed to be Blueblood but Flash Sentry.Her Flash.Why did she have to go throught this wedding.Why?To make her dad happy.Sometimes,she just wish that she can magically heal her father but even magic has its limitations.
"Twilight,Twilight.TWILIGHT!"Shouted Applejack as she waved her hoof in front of Twilight's face.
Twilight left her trance."Oh,sorry Applejack."
Applejack looked at her friend concerned."What's wong,sugarcube?"
"Oh,leave her alone,Applejack.She's probably having some pre-wedding gitters."Chidded Rarity
"That's not it Rarity.I think I'm making a big mistake."
"About marrying Blueblood?"Said Flutershy.
"Yes."She sighed."Of course I am making the right choice for my parents espacially my dad but is it the right choice for me."
"Well,you two are super-duper smart.You two have probably loads to talk about the stuff that we don't know."Said Pinkie Pie.
"Oh please he can't even do magic.I'm sure he dosen't know half of Starswirl the bearded's theory.I don't know much about medical stuff and me and technology do not mix."She crossed her forelegs.
Applejack put her hoof on her shoulders."Sure he can't do magic but that's the only thing you know about the guy.If you just get to know him,you might find something that suprises you.There's more to that stallion than meets the eye."
"Just give him a chance darling,you saw him at your father's birthday party.He was quite the gentelcolt.Marriage can sometimes bring the best out of ponies."
"And..if you just can't take it.You could always divorce him."Said Rainbow Dash bluntly."Twilight's ear sprang up.Rainbow was right there is always the option to divorce.
"Rainbow Dash!Watch your tounge.We shouldn't say that.We should hope for their hapiness.A divorce will be hard on everypony."Said Fluttershy.
"But it's still a possibility.I'm just saying the truth."
"Don't mind Rainbow Dash Twilight.I'm sure your marriage will be a happy one.Now,let's get back to planning the wedding,shall we."
As Ratity dragged her to Fluttershy's songbirds,Twilight thought about the possibility of a divorce.She could marry him for a few years and divorce him after her dad gets better.
Twilight sat on a stool as Rarity add some flowers in her mane.Her mane was styled in curls and adorned with purple and red roses.She also wore a veil that was pulled behind her head.
"And...done."Said Rarity as she put the last rose in her mane."My,my darling you look simply georgeous."Rarity was certinely satisfied with the fruits of her labor.
Her other friends also commented on her beauty.Each one of them was wearing the bridesmaids dress that was designed by Rarity,of course.
Twilight looked at her reflection on the mirror.She could see herself dressed in a white wedding dress with some dashes of gold in it and a lavender ribbon tied on her waist.Her wedding dress sparkled thanks to Rarity who added some tiny pieces of diamonds on her dress.She had to agree with her friends,she did look stunning.
"Where's the blushing bride?"Said Twilight's father as he and his wife entered the bride's room.
Twilight immediately got out from her seat and went to her father.They greeted each other with a warm nuzzle and embrace.Twilight likes her father's nuzzle.It would always be warm and welcoming.She went off to greet her mother with the same nuzzle and embrace.
Night Light looked at his daughter amazed and proud but he also felt a little bit sad.He could feel his eyes slowly getting heavier with tears.
Twilight smiled at the sight Night Light tearing up."Dad,don't cry."She levitated a handkerchief and wiped off her father's tears.
"I'm sorry Twilight.It's just that this is the first time I truly realized that my little filly is all grown up.It seems only yesterday,I found you sleeping in the family library."The sparkle family chuckled at the fond memory.
Twilight went over to her father and nuzzled him."Oh..dad you know I'm always going to be your little filly like I always have."She gave him a peck on the cheek."I love you,dad."
The mane 5 awed at the touching family moment.
A slight cough turned all the occupant of the room's attention towrards Spike who was dressed in a tuxedo and holding a pillow with a diamond necklace on top of it.
All the way to Twilight's room,Spike had to resist the urge to eat the diamond necklace.
He made his way towards Twilight Velvet.She grasp the necklace with her magical aura and smiled at Twilight lovingly.
"Twilight,sweety,I want you to wear this necklace."Said Twilight Velvet as she put the necklace on Twilight using her magic."It's been in our family for generations.My grandmother gave it to her mother.She gave it to me and now I'm giving it to you.I do hope that one day you'll give it to your daughter."
Twilight groaned silently when her mother said 'her daughter.'She detested the idea of making love to Blueblood in order to concieve his child but she still put on a fake smile.
"Thanks mom.I love it."She reached out to her mother and nuzzled her.
After the nuzzle,the mane 5 and spike gathered around her.Each of them with bright smiles.
"Woah,Twilight..you look really,really beautiful and....delicious "Said Spike as he looked at the diamond necklace while drooling.A little head shake reminded him to control his apetite.
She blushed at his compliment."Thanks,Spike."
As Twilight was being complimented by her friends a royal guard entered her room."It's time."
Twilight nodded and with a sigh she along with parents and friends start their walk to the hall where the wedding was held at.This was the start of her worst day ever.
Prince Blueblood walked down the aisle nervously with Princess Luna acting as her best mare.When Luna first met Blueblood she was a little apprehensive but they bonded through video games which Blueblood introduce to her.
As he walked he looked at the guest's expression.He was afraid they would be disguted that he was wearing the medal of valor.He was afraid they would curse or mock him but none of them were looking at him with disgust instead they were smiling at him espacially the mares but when they passed through Shining Armor,he muttered bastard under his breathe.
Blueblood sighed but he put on a strong face and continued to walk down the aisle.He won't let Shining Armor ruin this day.When they reached at the end of the aisle,they were greeted by Princess Celestia with a smile.
The princess of the night looked at her nephew closely.He looked rather dashing in his white tunic but he did look rather nervous.Although ponies defines him as a charismatic prince but underneath that handsome face was a scared little colt.
"Nervous,nephew."
Blueblood chuckle while scratching his head akwardly."That obvious?"
"I understand that you are going through what the subjects call.....pre-wedding gitters but do swallow that feeling."
"Auntie,do you know the feeling when you're excited and nervous at the same time."
"Yes I do.Twilight Sparkle's friend,Pinkie Pie called the feeling nervouscited."
"Well,I'm feeling it right now but don't worry."He took a deep breathe."I'm ready dor this."
Luna smiled at him."Marvelous."She looked to the great door with Blueblood following suit."Because here comes the bride."
The orchestra began playing a delightful tune accompanied by the singing of Fluttershy's songbirds.The great door opened to reveal Princess Twilight Sparkle hoof in hoof with her father,Duke Night Light.She was indeed beautiful in the wedding dress.Blueblood would certinely agree to that as he kept on staring her wide eyed and mouth open.Blueblood knew that she was always beautiful but today she just looked WOW.
Twilight strided down the aisle arm in arm with her father.Her friends were following behind her,smiling brightly.She wished she could feel the same.She couldn't even put on a smile.
When they reached down the aisle,Night Light kissed Twilight's forehead and nuzzled er.Then,he went off to join his wife.With one last glance at her smiling father,she went to Blueblood's side.
Celestia smiled at the couple in front of her befotre clearing her throat."Mares and gentlecolts,we are gathered here today to witness the union of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Blueblood Alistair Emir.Dearly beloved,let us all hope thier marriage will be blessed with hapiness and bountiful children."
She turned to Blueblood."Do you,Prince Blueblood Alistair Emir take Princess Twilight Sparkle to be your wife from this day forward to love and to hold.Do you promise to care for her,to guide her in times of distress,to honor and cherish her each and every day in sickness and in health,for richer or for poprer,for better or for worse as long as you both shall live."
Blueblood didn't answer.He was to occupied staring at Twilight.Luna knowing that the task of the best mare is to make sure the groom doesn't make a fool of himself,nudged Blueblood in the shoulder.It made him aware of the situation.
"I do."Said Blueblood earnestly.
Celestia nodded and turned to Twilight."Do you,Princess Twilight Sparkle take Prince Blueblood to be your husband from this day forward to love and to hold.Do you promise to care for him,to guide him in times of distress,to honor and cherish him each and every day in sickness and in health,for richer or for poprer,for better or for worse as long as you both shall live."
The moment of truth.She could say no and ran away to Flash and they can finally be together.She was about to say no but when she saw her parents smiling face,she knew she can't break her family's heart.So,with a heavy heart she said,"I do."
"I know pornounce you husband and wife.May we have the rings please."
Spike walked to Blueblood's side carrying a pillow with a ring on it.Blueblood grabbed Twilight's ring and put it gentely down her ring.Then,Twilight put Blueblood's ring on his horn using her magic.
The guest erupted in a tremendous applause and cheeres.Twilight Velvet couldn't help but shed a tear.Twilight at her friends,they were all smiling brightly at her with the exception of Rainbow Dash who was up in the air doing a sonic rainboom.He looked at Blueblood who was smiling at her like an idiot.No,she won't.Even though,she is married to him.She will not fall in love him.Never.
Blueblood looked at his wife with loving eyes.He couldn't believe he had just married Twilight Sparkle.It felt like a dream,a dream come true.He felt like as if he just swallowed a big box of dynamite.
Blueblood watched as the guest danced to their hearts delights on the dance floor. Couples were swinging each other without a care in the world. He looked back at Twilight who was looking down at her plate without emotion. He sighed.He wished she could be a little
happy. He hated seeing her sad.
The princess of love looked at the newlyweds. She was sitting not far from them. Her husband had gone off to who knows where.She could definitely feel Blueblood's love towards Twilight but Twilight wasn't even the slightest charmed with him. She decided to fix that.
She made her way to Blueblood.
"Congratulations you two.”she said enthusiastically earning a thank you from the newlyweds. “Bluey, why don't you take Twilight to the dance floor. Show her your moves.”
"That's a great idea.” He turned to Twilight and offered his hoof. "May....I have this dance."
Twilight groaned but still took his hoof because all the guest were watching. She didn't want to disappoint them.
”Let's get this over with.” she said quietly.
Blueblood gave a wink to Cadance before heading to the dance floor hoof and hoof with Twilight.
The fast music turned slow as they entered the dance floor. Pinkie Pie slowly dimmed the lights in the hall and the guest turned their
attention towards the couple.
Blueblood bowed and took Twilight gently by the hoof and started to sway slowly. Twilight was very uncomfortable with this for two reasons. For one,she can't slow dance really well and her dance partner is none other than Prince Blueblood. She was afraid she would embarrass herself but it didn't happen thanks to Blueblood. He was very good at covering Twilight's clumsy movements with swaying and twirling. He was a good dancer, Twilight had to admit. She couldn't believe she was actually enjoyed herself. Too bad he didn't watch where he was going and bumped into Discord who was in a tuxedo and dancing with Fluttershy.
“Oh, sorry Blueblood.” said Fluttershy.
"It's okay."
Twilight eyed Discord suspiciously. "Discord,I didn't know you'll be coming."
Discord teleported next too Twilight and put a paw over her shoulder. “Oh Twilight, I was invited, wasn't I? It would be rude to not go. Especially this all of day. It's not everyday you get married.You two look like a cute couple.” He snapped his fingers and a crude drawing of Discord sitting on the branch of his thinking tree and watching Twilight and Blueblood kissing appeared in front of Twilight. "I drew that
you know.” he said proudly.
He grinned at Twilight which only earned him a glare. He sighed. He snapped his fingers and the drawing disappeared. ”But I understand if you don't want me to be here. I'll just go.” he slowly walk away while crying crocodile tears. "Really going here.” he shouted as he was walking away. "I'm half way to the door."
Blueblood rolled his eyes and went over to the lord of chaos. “Discord, don't go. Stay instead. I'm sorry on Twilight's behalf if she offended you. You know how she is. Besides, you did provide a smashing way to serve a drink.” He pointed to Pinkie Pie and the foals who were gulping down chocolate milk rain from cotton candy clouds
"I am a genius but...what about your wife?”
"You don't mind right Twilight? You've forgiven him.."
"Please Twilight.” pleaded Fluttershy.
Twilight looked at Discord who was looking at her while making puppy eyes. She groaned. "I guess he can stay."
Discord grinned mischievously behind her back."Get's her every time.” He turned to Twilight and slowly got rounder as if he was being filled up with air. Twilight was in for a shock when he literally burst. Blueblood chuckled. He is very,very annoying but he has some momments where he is less annoying.
He quickly reassembled himself and gave Twilight a back crushing hug. “Oh, Twilight thank you. You know what? No wonder you're the Princess of Friendship. I hate to admit it but Sunbutt did something right…for once."
He released her from his hug and immediately rubbed her sore back. Blueblood quickly went over to her. "Are you alright? That hug looked really strong."
"I'm fine.” She said coldly.
Discord gasped which brought their attention."Oh,I almost forgot your wedding gift.” He took off his top hat and looked through it for a certain book. "It's in there somewhere.” He took out a float, balloons, a grumpy raccoon and a kayak before finally taking out a book with a red bow on it. ”Aha,here it is.” He handed the book to Twilight who held it up with her magic.
"How to survive a marriage that your parents force you in to and you don't like who you married. HOW did you know?” she put the book in Blueblood's hoof.
"Oh,please It's so obvious and....I ...maybe was snooping around the hospital. Snooping is one of my many hobbies you know.."
Twilight face turned red and and angry.She was also growling a little bit at him. She couldn't believe he dared invade her privacy like that. Before Twilight could pounce on him and turn into 'firey Twilight' mode,t he soft voice of Fluttershy made her regain her composure.
”I'm so sorry Twilight but..."She moved in closer to whisper."But what he was going to give you originally was way worse and...inappropriate."
"What was said gift?”
"Trust me, you really don't want to know."
Twilight shook his head when the thought of what could possibly be Discord's wedding gift. She turned her head towards where she last saw Discord but he wasn't there. She tried to scan him among the sea of guest but there was no trace of him nor Fluttershy. She sighed. She didn't care. She began slowly walking towards her seat at the grand table.
Blueblood caught up to her. The book had already been put on the wedding present table.
"Don't you want to dance again. I don't want to boast but I was quite a dancer there. You looked like you were enjoying it,"
"Look,Blueblood...."
"Blue."He corrected her.
“Blue, you know we're never going to work out. Our marriage is based on responsibilities, duties and my father's sickness. It's not based on love. Love is important in marriage and we don't have it. For me, I don't think a marriage like that could ever work. I know you're trying to fall in love without me because you're such a dutiful stallion but I'll save you from trying too hard and I say I will never ever fall in love with you. I'm not in a mood to dance Blue.” With that, she turned around and walked away from her husband.
When she was out of hearing distance, Blueblood looked down. "Arranged marriages are awkward, difficult and overwhelming....at first. Sometimes you may wonder if the marriage can last without love. But in any relationship love is not the only thing that is needed. You need to be understanding,responsible and faithful. Know when to give up. You also need trust. Marriage helps us to gain those qualities. It's true, love cannot be forced but it needs effort to prove it. So,what I'm trying to say is we can learn to love."
"You do know she's gone right?”said Discord. The prince payed no mind to him and walked away.
After staying away from Twilight to give her some space, Blueblood finally stayed with her after the guest were starting to talk and he realized he had to be patient with her. He can't give up so easily because as he quoted, ‘Love needs effort to prove it’. So, he stayed with Twilight the whole reception, much to her annoyance.
At ten o'clock sharp the reception ended and guest started to leave. Twilight's parent had gone to their chambers after saying goodbye to the newlyweds. Night Light didn't forget to tell Blueblood a few wedding night tips. He could only blush as his father in law went on and on. All that was left at the great hall was Spike,the mane five, Blueblood and Twilght.
The mane five and Spike slowly walked towards the couple.Well, Pinkie Pie bounced to them. Each of them had smiles on their face, even Rainbow Dash.
"Ah know we said it hundreds of time before but congratulations you two.We're really happy for you.” said Applejack.
Each of the mane five give their congratulations to the newlyweds. Twilight politely said thank you even though she was quite annoyed with all the congratulations she was getting.
Rainbow Dash face turned serious. She stepped forward and moved ever so closely to Blueblood making him feel nervous. "Listen up.You better take care of Twilight. If you ever hurt her in any way, you have me to deal with.” she said as she flexed her wings.
Suddenly, Spike came in between the two, bearing the fieriest face he could muster. "And me. You got a ferocious fire breathing dragon to deal with.” He breathed a little fire towards Blueblood's face.
Blueblood looked to and from Rainbow Dash and Spike. He find in touching how Twilight has friends that care very much about her. He chuckled. "Don't you worry, I will always treat Princess Twilight Sparkle like a queen."
Twilight snorted.”Great, another pony to be intimidated by me.”
Blueblood's face became flustered. "I...didn't mean it like that.I mean I..I..I'll treat you well like how somepony would treat a..queen. I'm..I'm not intimidated by you.W-Why would I be intimidated by my own wife?"
"Your forehead's sweaty.” said Rainbow Dash.
He quickly wipe off the sweat and took a deep breath. “Look, what I'm trying to say is I do care for her. I'd gladly let her feast on me to save her from starvation.” The mane 6 and Spike looked at him bewildered. "That a sounded a lot better in my head. Back to the point, I care for Twilight Sparkle and the last thing I'll do is to hurt her. I pinkie promise. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my- ow!” He winced in pain as he accidentally poke his eye while doing the 'stick the cupcake in my eye' bit.
Everypony except Twilight laughed at him. "Aww they even do the pinkie promise the same way.” said Pinkie Pie.
"Well, you two better go off to your chambers. It's getting late.” said Rarity.
“Blueblood, why don't you go first? I want to talk to my friends for a while."
“Alright...then." He said his goodbyes and started walking to his and Twilight's bedchamber.
As he walked along the grand corridor leading to his chambers,he pondered about his new role in life. During his vacation at Saddle Arabia he learned that in their culture husbands are leaders in the household who must guide their wives and children to the path of goodness. He doesn't know how to guide somepony who loathes him but he will try. He must try.
He was to deep into his thoughts that he bump into Shining Armor. The prince apologized and quickly tried to get away but was blocked by Shining Armor.
He sighed. "What is it that you want?”
The guard looked at Blueblood. He find it amusing that he was clenching his teeth. "I just want to remind you,your marriage to Twily won't last."
"You don't know that.” said Blueblood.
Shining Armor scoffed."You think she's ever going to fall in love with you? Keep dreaming. Twilight had a boyfriend before the whole marriage thing you know. Flash Sentry. He's a strong guard. Although I did had some doubts about him, he was able too prove himself worthy of Twilight's love. Something which you will never be worthy of."
"It may be difficult to win her heart but it's not impossible. I may not be a muscular, tough guard but my feelings to her are true. That is the only thing I need for Twilight to fall in love with me.You'll she, will fall in love with me."
"Even when she learns the truth about your past?”
That broke him. Suddenly,images flashed inside Blueblood's mind about the dreadful night. His saw his comrades being slaughtered by the Griffon army with no mercy. They were crying for him to help but he couldn't do anything even if he wanted to.
A smile formed on Shining Armor's face as Blueblood showed his crestfallen face. "Thought so.” The captain thought he had done his job of breaking the prince's spirit. So, with a heart full of satisfaction he left the prince to dwell on his mistakes.
Twilight opened the doors to the her chambers. She stepped inside and immediately was greeted by the sweet smelling smell of roses. The room was decorated with the colors of romance. On the bed rose petals were laid in a shape of a heart.The typical setting for a honeymoon suite.
She looked around the room for Blueblood. There was no sign of him. He must be taking a shower thought Twilight as she heard the sound of water dripping. Suddenly, she heard the door clicked and a wet stallion, wrapped in a towel stepped out of the bathroom. As he was wiping his body he noticed Twilight standing in front of him.He faced turned red in embarrassment.
"Oh,Twilight I...I didn't see you there."
"Yeah,can you get out of the way.I want to take a shower.” Blueblood immediately stepped aside from the bathroom door. Without saying another word,Twilight grabbed a towel and entered the bathroom.
After drying himself, a yawn escaped from his mouth. He glanced at the clock.The time was half-past eleven. As another wave of sleepiness came, the prince decided it was time to retire to bed. He put the towel away and walked slowly to the bed but just as he was going to fell onto it, a sudden thought came to his mind. Twilight may not be comfortable with a him sleeping next to her.Even though,he is her husband.
So, he walked to the closet and grabbed a sheet, a pillow and a blanket. He laid the sheet next to the bed and added the pillow and blankets to finish off his makeshift bed. As soon as he was finished,the tired Blueblood laid on the soft blanket.
His eyes were about to close when he heared the sound of Twilight coming out of the bathroom.It didn't take long for Twilight to find Blueblood laying on the floor.She looked at him curiously.
"Why are you sleeping on the floor?"
"Well,I thought you won't be comfortable with me sleeping in bed with you."
"Oh....thank you but won't you be uncomfortable sleeping on the floor."
"I'll be alright.I've slept on worse ground than this.The bed is all yours."
"Okay."
After drying herself, she lay down on bed waiting for sleep to carry her away to the the land of dreams. It didn't take long as she was exhausted. Blueblood joined her soon after but not before saying good night to his wife quitely.
"Try flapping your wings. Start slow but pick up the pace as you go.” said Doctor Flex as he demonstrated it with his own wings.
Blueblood and Professor Night Light, along with the rest of the medical team, were in the physiotherapy department to watch Butter Jelly's progress on flying. After the operation, she had to undergo physiotherapy to help her gain the functional abilities of her wings. Slowly but surely she made some improvements.
"You can do it, sweetie.” said Butter Jelly's father, Ace Flier.
"We believe in you.” said her mother, Darling June supportively.
"Me too!” exclaimed Blueblood as he smiled at her. He turned to look at the other doctors who all had big smiles on their face. He then turned his gaze towards Butter Jelly. "We all do. Go on."
With one look at her parents and the doctors, she closed her eyes and slowly flapped her wings. Keeping in mind to what Doctor Flex had said, she flapped her wings faster and faster. Suddenly, she felt her hooves leaving the floor. She also heard somepony gasping. She opened her eyes and to her delight, she was hovering three feet above the floor.
"I did it! I did it! I did it! Mom, Dad look at me!”
"Good Job, sweetie.” some tears escaped from Darling June's eyes as she spoke.
Doctor Flex cleared his throat to get Butter Jelly's attention.”Now, Butter Jelly please fly towards me.” The doctor stood not far from her.
She took a deep breathe and inched her body forward as she flapped her wings. She gradually moved a little from the place she was last hovering. Butter Jelly had to admit it wasn't easy but she didn't let it stop her. She flapped her wings hard like she had never flapped them before and slowly but surely she reached in front of Doctor Flex.
The doctors, especially Blueblood, clapped tremendously at her accomplishment. The operation went without complication and all the doctors involved couldn't be more happier.
The filly landed on the floor. She took some time to catch her breathe before running into her parents hooves."I did it! I really did it! I can fly now. I'm so happy."
"We're so proud of you Butter Jelly. Congratulations!” said Ace Flier proudly.
Butter Jelly turned around to face the doctors who had bright smiles on their face."I'm so, so happy that I can fly now. Thank you for curing me doctors."All the doctors chuckled. Each of them had the feeling of happiness they usually get when seeing a patient happy.
Butter Jelly whispered something into Darling June's ear. Her mother nodded and turned to Professor Night Light. "When will Butter Jelly be discharged?"asked Darling June.
"We still need to run some more tests on her. If there are no more complications, she can be discharged tomorrow. “ said Professor Night Light.
Butter Jelly jumped joyfully. Her parents and the doctors chuckled at her antics.
"Looks like somepony can't wait to get out of the hospital.” teased Blueblood.
"No offense, but the hospital food is gross. Yuck!” she made a disgusted face as she remembered what she had for breakfast."I can't wait to taste some real food once I get discharged.” The adults chuckled at her smart remarks.
Doctor Blueblood exited his office. After ending a day's worth of work, he couldn't wait to go home and rest. After walking along the corridors for a few minutes, he heard his father in law calling his name. He turned around and went towards him.
"You called me."
“Yes. How about we celebrate our success tonight by going to the Hay and Oat house? My treat."
"Thank you, but I think I'll have dinner with Twilight tonight."
“Blueblood, I think Twilight will allow you to have a celebratory dinner with a couple of friends.Don't tell me your afraid of your wife."
Blueblood chuckled."It's just that this is the first time I'm eating dinner with Twilight in her castle for the first time. I didn't get a chance the last few days because I was on the night shift. I just want to spend some time with her more."
Night Light nodded understandingly.”Well, if you must. How is Twilight adjusting to the marriage?"
Blueblood's face froze.He couldn't tell the truth.Twilight would kill him if he did."Well...she is slowly accepting it. She talks to me more.”
He lied. Of course he did. The truth is Twilight barely spoke to him. To say that she accepted him as her husband would be an outstretched believe.
"That's good.” Blueblood breathed a sigh of relief. He's wasn’t a very good lier.
Night Light put his hoof on Bluebood's shoulder. “Blueblood,I know it's hard for Twilight to accept you. You have to be patient with
her. Once day I'm sure that she will love you as much as you love her."
Blueblood looked at his father in law surprised. "How did you know?"
Night Light chuckled "For a stallion who's favorite restaurant is the Hay and Oat house, declining to go just to spend time with his wife means that you really love her.” Blueblood smiled. His father in law was right.
Although, he loves The Hay and Oat house's Ratatouille, he loves Twilight even more.
"Thank you, prof-"
"You don't need when me that when it's just us. Just call me Night or dad.” interrupted Night Light.
"Thank you..... Night.” Said Blueblood akwardly.He found it awkward calling his boss 'dad'. "I think I should be going. I need to catch the next express train to Ponyville."
"Well off with you then. Goodbye. Send Twilight my love."
"Will do. Goodbye.” With that Blueblood walked away from Night Light and hurried to the train station.
Blueblood walked along the streets of Ponyville on a calm night. Luna's moon glowed slightly orange that night. Not many ponies were out that night. They must be having dinner with their families.He glanced at his watch.It showed the time seven thirty.
"Too late."He sighed.
Twilight must have already started dinner. After the wedding, they had agreed to live at her castle. Because of that circumstance, he had to go to work in Canterlot using the speed train.The speed train was actually a normal steam train that uses coals which are magically enhanced to increase the speed of the train but sometimes they don't work as efficiently as it promised.The usual one hour trip could sometime take two hours or more.
Finally, he arrived at the castle. He reached for the keys in his satchel and opened the door. He then hurried off to the dining room, not wanting to keep Twilight waiting. He arrived at the dining room which was more modest than the grand dinning hall which was use for important ceremonies. He saw that the food was still untouched. Twilight looked sternly at him while Spike looked hungry.
He smiled sheepishly. “Sorry I'm late.The train took a longer time than I expected."
“Never mind. Just sit. We're starving.” said Twilight.
Blueblood quickly took a seat next to Twilight on a round table which had Twilight's cutie mark painted on it.They all sat in awkward silence as they ate Spike's spaghetti.
"So,what did all of you do today?” said Blueblood, trying to break the ice.
“Well, I sorted the books in the library, helped Twilight test some spells and send some letters to Princess Celestia.” replied Spike.
“Okay. How about you, Twilight."
Twilight's eyes left her plate and stared right at Blueblood quite intimidatingly. "I read books on Starswirl the Bearded’s studies on the amniomorphic spell. Experiment with gravity spells. Debating on the use of magic in medicine. Visited my friends. The usual. What about you?”
"I..I worked. Performed surgery.” Blueblood's face suddenly lit up.”Oh, something very fantastic happened at work today."
"Hmm."
"The operation me and my team did to cure the first flightless pony was a success.” said Blueblood Proudly.
Twilight's stare at Blueblood became softer and filled with interest. “Really. That's wonderful. If I may ask, how did you fix the problem? I wanted to ask my dad but because of the wedding it slipped my mind."
"Well the most common reason why some pegasi have the inability to fly is because there are no flight feathers in their wings.The reason for this is because of a chrom-"
"Chromosome glitch in the genetic coding. Am I right?” interrupted Twilight with a slight joy in her tone.
Blueblood was shocked. This was the first time since her father's party that she was interested in a conversation with him. This was his chance to connect with Twilight. He couldn't mess this up.
Blueblood nodded. “Yes. Yes you are. Anyway, to overcome the problems, we creates flight feathers. The operation was quite simple actually, we only need to remove the other feathers and replace them with the flight feathers."
"Why do you need to create artificial feathers? You can just ask some pegasi to donate."
“Well, a pegasus feather is like a hoofprint. No other pegasus or alicorn in your case have the same type.What we did was we take a small piece of tissue from one of the feathers, grow up a bunch of normal cells and manipulate them so it becomes a flight feather."
“Incredible. Who knows? With this technology we can even create clones of ourself without magic. Who found out the method to create the flight feathers anyway?”
Blueblood blushed. "It was me."
“Oh, it was you. Well, congratulations then."
"Thank you but the credit is not all mine. Your father planned out the surgery. He figured out how to place the feathers on the wings."
Twilight chuckled."Remind me to congratulate him.” she smiled at him and he smiled at her back.Shenoticed Blueblood's bright blue eyes sparkled. It was dreamy. Wait.
What was she doing? Suddenly, she shook her head and returned to her serious face. "Are you finished with that? I’m going to clean up.” said Twilight coldly.
Blueblood's smile fell. “Oh, sure.” Twilight lifted all of the empty plates with her magic and went to kitchen connecting to the dining room.
Spike got out from his seat and went to Blueblood. He gently pat his shoulders. "Too bad, bro.You almost had her."
Blueblood woke up the next morning at 8 o'clock.He didn't have to work that day so he took his time in the bathroom. As he stepped out of the bathroom heard his stomach grumbling. So, he dried himself and made haste to the dining room.
When he arrived at the dining room, he saw the table already set up with breakfast dishes of all sorts. Spike was already tucking in some hay bacon.
"Good morning, Spike.” He looked around to find Twilight but to no avail. "Twilight's not up yet?"
"She said to me last night she had to go to Canterlot to do some important princess stuff."
“Oh, she didn't tell me.” Blublood sighed and turned away from Spike.The dragon looked at the prince sympathetically."Things aren't going well with you and Twilight, is it?"
Blueblood faced Spike. "She barely talks to me."
“Oh, come on. She talked to you a whole lot during dinner."
Blueblood scoffed."Yes but that only reason she was talking to me was because she was interested in my work. I really love her Spike. Ever since I was small."
"I know. Who agrees to marry a girl he just met right away without no hesitation and I saw the way you look at her. Believe me, I know that look."
"But Twilight doesn't feel the same way."Again,he frowned.
Spike face suddenly lit up and he snapped his fingers as if he had an eureka moment. ”Hey,I have a great idea. Why not I help you to make Twilight fall in love with you?” The stallion looked at him bewildered. "I'm the best choice to help you. I’ve known Twilight for a long time, I almost know everything about and not to mention I'm a suave dragon.” Spike strike a dashing pose as he said the last sentence.
Blueblood looked skeptical. "No offense, Spike but you're not exactly been successful in your romantic endeavors with Rarity."
Spike glared and pointed a finger at him. “Hey, it's a work-in-progress.” His face turned red with embarrassment. "You .... know about that, huh."
Blueblood raised an eyebrow. "But still Blueblood you gotta give me a chance. I'm your best shot at getting Twilight to ever fall in love with you. What do you have to lose?”
“Twilight. My marriage.” said Blueblood bluntly.
"C'mon Blueblood. I'm you helping you as a.....friend.What'd ya say.” He extended his arm.
Blueblood thought for a moment.Finally, he decided why not. He can't possibly make Twilight fall in love with him on his own. He needed the help. Any help. With a smile, the prince extended his hoof and shook shook the baby dragon's hand firmly.
“Good. We have a lot to work on .” Suddenly, a grumbling sound came from their stomachs. "After...we finish our breakfast.” Spike and Blueblood quickly digged in on their breakfast.
Twilight Sparkle stood in front of the big oak tree as she waited for her love. Usually, the Canterlot nobility, strolling around the park would bow or wave to her. This time they did not. Of course,it was because she didn't look like Princess Twilight, as the color of her mane and coat had changed thanks to the illusion spell.Her mane was now sky blue and her coat was bright red.
Suddenly, she felt somepony lay a muzzle on her shoulder. She jumped. "Miss me, Twi?” But that voice reassured Twilight that it wasn't just anypony who did that. It was Flash Sentry. He moved his head to face Twilight and kissed her on the cheek.
“Terribly." She replied. Her face turned serious.
" When I first read your letter, I had decided no to go but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I always kept imagining you waiting for me and the disappointment you'll experience when I wouldn't be there. That disappointment would make you think I don't care about you which would led you to…." Flash shushed her and put a hoof on her mouth.
"The important thing is you're here.” Flash smiled and they both lean over for a nuzzle.
Flash pulled back from the nuzzle.”So, how's your ... marriage?”He spat out the last word.
Twilight groaned."Horrible.Bluebloods's a nice guy and everything but he's so boring. He barely talks to me and when he does he's all panicky and nervous. Another thing is, he's always working. He wants the marriage to work but I don't see him making any effort.” She sighed.
Flash cupped her muzzle. "You don't want the marriage to last, right?” Twilight nodded vigorously. “Then, let's end your marriage.” he said darkly.
"How?"
"I'll..I mean we'll think of something. With your beautiful mind, it’ll be easy.” She blushed at his compliment. "And with my...abilities we will surely prevail. What do you say Twilight, are you with me? For our love."
Twilight frowned. She still wasn't convinced. "I want to Flash but..my dad."
"Don't worry about him. He'll get use to the idea that you belong with me. Trust me, Twilight."
Without a second thought, Twilight leaned against him which Flash responded by wrapping his wings around her body. "I'll do it, Flash. For our love."
Flash grinned deviously. His irises flashed green. He chuckled slightly, not wanting Twilight to hear it. His plan was starting to take place.
The sound of scissors snipping was heared in the bathroom as Spike cut a little bit of Blueblood's golden mane. The prince was seated on the ground facing a mirror whereas Spike was standing on top of a stool. Blueblood looked uneasy as the baby dragon cut away his mane swiftly.
“Spike, are sure you know what you're doing?”
He huffed. "For the last time, Blue. I know what I'm doing. Everypony can cut hair.”
”But not everypony can do it properly.” mumbled Blueblood. “Why do I need to cut my hair? It was perfect.”
He stopped snipping his hair and scoffed. "By perfect you mean totally outdated. Long manes was so last year. According to an article in Neighlon written by Hoity Toity, intelligent mares like Twilight prefer stallions with short hair and neat hairstyles to match with their studious nature."
Blueblood turned his head towards raised his eyebrow."You've been spending too much time with Rarity, haven't you?"
"Yes and that's lesson number one. Always make time for Twilight so you can get to know her better."
Blueblood nodded as a sign of understanding."Got it, Spike."
“Good. Now, can you please stand straight?” Blueblood gave a chuckle and quickly did as he told.
Blueblood gulped as Spike reached forward to grab a shaver but he resisted to stop him as he learnt to have some faith in him. He looked at the mirror, so far his mane was much shorter and it didn't fell on his shoulders. It looked good.
Spike turned on the razor and moved it towards his neck but just before he could shave the remaining hair,Pinkie Pie appeared next to him.
"HI SPIKE!” she said loudly.
“Gahhh!” The baby dragon jumped and in doing so accidentally shave the top part of Blueblood's mane. Spike could only bite his talons as he saw the dreadful mistake that he made.
Blueblood who was still unaware of his shaved mane turned to Pinkie Pie who was jumping up and down like an excited little foal. "That was a very surprising entrance, Pinkie."
Pinkie couldn't help but chuckle as she saw his mane. "Your mane…it's..." She giggled again.
“What?” said Blueblood, confused. He tried to look at the mirror but Spike quickly got on the counter and blocked the mirror.
"There's nothing to see here."
Blueblood raised his eyebrow. “Spike. Get out of the way."
But just before Spike could rebel,the sound of hooves clapping made Blueblood turned around. As soon as he turned around he received bewildered faces from the mane 5 excluding Rainbow Dash who bursted into laughter the second he saw him.
Rarity gasped. “Blueblood, take a look at your coiffure. It's simply disastrous.” she said with dramatic poses.
Blueblood immediately turned to the mirror but to his annoyance Spike was still guarding it. He pushed out of the way and looked at his mane. He gasped. "Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear.” The top part of his mane was shaved completely. He glared at Spike. "You said,you knew what you were doing."
"Well..if Pinkie Pie hadn't surprised me I wouldn't have accidentally shaved your mane.” Spike pointed his talon towards Pinkie Pie.
“Oops,sorry." She smiled sheepishly.
Blueblood groaned and facehoofed. "How am I going to make Twilight fall in love with me now?”
"Come again, Blue?” asked Applejack.
“Well, as you all know Twilight detested the idea of me as her husband. She said our marriage won't last. So, I thought that if can make her fall in love with me, she'll change her mind and our marriage can last because I really want it to last. He pointed to the bald patch. "And the haircut was for me to see more appealing to Twilight."
"And you asked Spike, who is a guy, to help you win over Twilight who is a mare?" said Rainbow Dash.
“Hey. For your information I volunteered to help him.” said Spike, annoyed at Rainbow Dash's statement.
"No offense, Spike but…" She moved in closer to his ear. "But..your not exactly the one to speak about relationships."
The baby dragon huffed and cross his shoulders. "Why does everypony keep rubbing it in?” he muttered.
"Why are all of you here, anyway?” asked Blueblood.
“Oh, we almost forgot. We're all planning to go to to the spa today with Twilight. Where is she?” said Fluttershy softly.
“Oh, she left this morning to attend to some princess duties."
“Oh." said the mane 5. Although, a little bit sad they understood that that Twilight as a princess needs to sometimes sacrifice her quality time with her friends.
“So, what are we going to do know?” said Rainbow Dash.
"I don't about you girls but I am going to fix that stallion's mane.” Rarity grabbed Blueblood's hoof and dragged him over to the mirror.
"And..viola! Perfection!” said Rarity as he finished combing Blueblood's mane. She put the comb on the sink counter among the many
hairstyling equipment.
"Look at the mirror, you look simply fabulous."
Blueblood looked at the mirror and gasped. All his doubts about a new hairstyle was dismissed when he saw himself looking very handsome. His mane was side parted and shorter, lining along his muzzle. No longer was his mane curly but straight, although he still had some soft waves in his mane. He liked it. He was satisfied.
“Woah. I look amazing.” He touched the part of his mane that was once bald. "It still amazes me how you can fix the bald patch."
“Well, nothing a little magic can't fix. It was fortunate that Spike found that spell book.” said Rarity as she lit her magical aurora. She glanced back to her friends waiting in the dressing room with bored expressions. “Well, let's go to our friends shall we? Let’s not keep them waiting."
Rarity and Blueblood made their way to the dressing room. Their friends were laying around doing nothing in particular. They all gasped as they laid eyes on Blueblood. He looked really different and even Rainbow Dash thought that he looks better than he was with his old mane.
Spike was the first to speak. “Woah. You really did a good job, Rarity."
"Thank you, Spike. Although manestyling is not my expertise but you never now what you're capable of.” the designer explained with a proud face.
"You look really good, Blueblood.” complimented Fluttershy. The chorus of compliments to Blueblood's new mane continued and Blueblood blushed at every single one of them.
"The best part of your new mane is it helps you look more like a stallion.” exclaimed Rainbow Dash.
Blueblood was slightly taken aback. His joyful face turned sour at that comment.” My old mane didn't make me look like a girl, did it?”
"You betcha. It also makes you look a teensy weensy bit like a snob.” said Pinkie pie. All of them except Blueblood nodded in agreement.
Spike nudged the slightly annoyed prince. "Told you so."
Blueblood huffed which was followed by a chuckled. He rubbed the back of his head. "Alright,it was a bit girlish. Thank you Rarity for making me look like a stallion."
"My pleasure, Blueblood.” Her mind suddenly remembered the purpose for getting a new manestyle. She put her hoof up. “Girls. Meeeting. Now."
The mane 5 immediately huddled up leaving the stallion and drake confused.
Rarity cleared her throat. "I suggest we help Twilight fall in love with Blueblood .Should we do it?"
Her friends had mixed expressions.They were shocked Rarity would even suggest that idea given her history with him.
"Why should we?” questioned Rainbow Dash breaking the silence.
"Because he's a good pony.You can't deny that.You see the way how he treats everypony especially Twilight.Twilight deserves somepony who genuinely cares for her and where else do you think she is going to find a stallion who would swoon for her like that?” whispered Rarity.
Rainbow Dash took in Rarity's words carefully. She had a good point. “But what about Twilight? Isn’t it unfair to her? Her heart's already broken enough after breaking up with that Flash Sentry guy. "
"She won't see it at first but in time with our help she will definitely fall in love with Blueblood.Are you with me.” Rarity put her hoof out.
Fluttershy put her hoof in."I am.” said Fluttershy softly.
Applejack put her hoof in. "Me too. We're doing this for Twilight's sake. She of all ponies deserves a happy marriage with a nice stallion."
"Count me in.” said Pinkie Pie excitedly as she put her hoof in.
The four friends turned to look at Rainbow Dash who was still deciding. Finally, she decided to help Blueblood. “Oh, alright.” She put her hoof in to which the mane 5 cheered to.
“Excellent." said Rarity. They all turned and walked towards Blueblood and Spike who were waiting anxiously.
“So, what were you all ..... talking about?” questioned Blueblood.
Rarity cleared her throat. She looked back to her friends who nodded in return. "We were deciding whether or not to help you with your
little...quest and we decided to help you."
"You would really do that?” said Blueblood, delighted. His face was written with surprise.
"You darn tootin, Blue.” said Applejack.
Blueblood grinned. He took Rarity's hoof and shook it vigorously. "Thank you. Thank you."
Rarity noticed Spike who had his arms crossed with a displeased expression on his face.”Oh, don't worry Spikey-wikey. You'll have a part to play too."
“Oh, alright.” he said, grumbling a little bit but managed to put on a smile.
“But...." The firm voice of Rainbow Dash cut off Blueblood's joy.” You have to promise to never ever hurt Twilight or take advantage of her in any way. "Rainbow stood more closer to Blueblood. Her wings were open to look more intimidating. "Got it."
"I Pinkie Promise.” But he saw Pinkie Pie shooting a glare. The pink pony quickly went over to him.
"This calls for more than a Pinkie Promise. A Pinkie Oath. Raise your hoof."
Blueblood quickly did as he was told. Pinkie Pie cleared her voice.” Repeat after me. I, Prince Blueblood Alistair Emir promise to be a thoughtful, considerate and a compassionate husband to Princess Twilight Sparkle."
"I, Prince Blueblood Alistair Emir promise to be a thoughtful, considerate and a compassionate husband to Princess Twilight Sparkle.” recited Blueblood.
"I promise to never hurt in any way both physically or mentally.” said Applejack.

Rarity chimed in. "I will listen to every advice given by her friends in order to win her heart whether I like it or not."

“Focus!” chided Pinkie Pie. Blueblood shrugged it off and remained focused on the Oath.
"And if I ever do hurt her I will accept whatever punishment that is given to me.” said Rainbow Dash.

"This is my oath and I promise to uphold this oath.” aid Pinkie Pie.
"This is my oath and I promise to uphold this oath.” He put down his hoof and looked at Spike and the mane 5 even Rainbow Dash smiling at him as if they had given him their blessing.
