Twilight had to leave Ponyville, to escape her friends and her home and what was left of her heart. She all but seals her fate, casting a shape shifting spell on herself, knowing full well that this action is punishable by a mandatory and permanent stripping of all her magical powers. Now she is heading for the Badlands in an effort to clear her mind, and try, somehow, to re-discover her heart and her soul. Fate has other plans.
Applejack, left behind in Ponyville, is refusing to consider the implications of what everypony is telling her about the two weeks she was being cared for by Twilight. Then she finds something so incredibly profound in its implications that she's not sure she has the courage to confront the truth of what it means.
Both of these ponies are about to embark on their own wild journey's that will find each of them as both hunter and hunted. It will force Applejack to make a very painful and personal decision, and what Twilight will ultimately discover will shake her unquestioning devotion to ponies she'd always held closest to her heart and will change the future of Equestria.
