It's already morning.

I'm slowly waking up, trying to remember why am I on Twilight's sofa.

I analyze the room and find a sleeping Dash, cuddled on the carpet, next to me.

Memories of the last evening flow, one by one.

The whole trip on the forest.

Her father.

Her kisses.

I couldn't prevent the stupid smirk appearing on my face.

"What am I going to do now?" I kept my voice low.

I sighed softly.

I rubbed my forehead and bumped into something.

"Guh?!" What's that feeling...

Oh of course! My horn!

What the fuck?!

I started to feel it, softly.

It feels so strange, like if it isn't mine but I still can feel it...

I gasped when I noticed the color of my forearm.

Gray.

Not just gray, but a fuckin cartoony gray.

"What's..." I slightly pushed the cover.

So, Twilight's spell is working.

I'm a fuckin gray unicorn now.

Why a unicorn?! I wanted to be a pegasus!

Damn, unicorns are so... Not manly.

I instinctively started to rub every visible places of my new body.

My head, my ears, my nose.

"Gosh, and I thought my ex-nose was big, look at this one..." I chuckled softly.

Hoofsteps coming from the stairs caught my attention.

"H-Hello Twilight."

She notices I'm awake and motions me to keep it low.

I nod and she smiles to me, shaking her head towards the kitchen.

I roll to my left and slowly get down the sofa.

Okay... I'm sure it'll be easier with four legs.

I slowly move one of my front hooves forward before following with my rear ones.

Okay... Slowly....

A light force my eyes closed.

What the fuck!

"Guh!" I reappeared on my four hooves, but the surprise made me lose my balance and I fell, belly on the ground.

"Damn! Twilight! Don't teleport me like that!"

"S-Sorry, I just wanted to talk to you before Rainbow wakes up."

I managed to stand up and sat on the ground, right in front of her.

"Yeah, just warn me next time."

She nodded.

"So, what do you want to talk about?"

"Well, as you can see, you're a pony now. But more specifically, you're an unicorn." She had a serious face.

"I thought my spell would simply transform you into an earth pony, but it seems I was wrong..." Why is she so serious about that?

Did she read my mind? No really, being a unicorn is fine.

Pegasus or Unicorn, I don't care! I swear!

She didn't react to my thoughts.

I guess she's not reading my mind...

"And so I tried to get more information about the spell, but I didn't find anything in any of my other books. Even the name of the spell maker is nearly unknown."

"So I tried to get information from the archives of Canterlot, and... Even if I'm Celestia's protégée, they usually take several hours to answer me. But this time they answered nearly immediately. Saying that this book should be burned at once and that the orders were coming from Princess Celestia herself..." She was having a hard time looking at me in the eyes.

"W-Wasn't it temporary?!" I looked at my front hooves, horrified by her revelations.

"S-So... What?! You mean, you will be able to transform me back, right?! I'm not going to stay in this form?!" No way.

Just, NO WAY.

"That's one of the reasons why the book should be burnt. It was supposed to be temporary, but it isn't..." I just wanted to scream.

"B-But don't worry! I can transform you back into a human!" I sighed loudly, relieved of this.

"Damn! You scarred the shit outta me!" I took a deep breath.

"So, what's the problem? I'm a pony, so the spell is working. And you'll be able to transform me back."

"W-Well, the process used by the spell to transform you into a pony reminded me of master Star Swirl's late works. It didn't work immediately because it had to... Evolve."

"What? Like a virus or something?" She blinked at that.

"Oh, you know what a virus is?" She seemed amazed by that.

"Just about, yeah."

"Good, I won't have to explain you that. But to stay simple, instead of only modifying your DNA and your molecules, it modified your... Soul." She wasn't really sad.

Just concerned.

"What? My soul?" I raised an eyebrow, chuckling softly.

"What do you mean? That's..." I thought this was a joke at first, but her expression was just sending chills down my back.

Magic here is real.

I guess shits like souls can be real too...

"W-What does it mean then?!" It was getting scary.

"J-Just stay calm please, I have to explain you some things before going into the details..." I nodded.

I'm not reassured at all.

And faking a calm attitude is pretty hard in this situation.

"To put it simply, the three pony races, the earth ones, the pegasi and the unicorns, are constantly employing magic, without even knowing it."

“The marks we all have on our flanks are named cutie marks. They appear when a pony’s soul comes in direct contact with an activity, or something that is somehow special to them.” I was a bit disoriented but was doing my best to understand every word.

“Our marks constantly give us magical energy while doing these things. That's why a pony with a certain cutie mark will always be better doing it than a pony without a mark related to it." I nodded.

I can't believe it's working like that.

“But that energy isn’t inexhaustible, we need to recharge it from time to time.”

“The earth ponies receive it from the earth, where they’re working. Every time an earth pony is linked to the ground, he accumulates magic without even noticing it.”

“The Pegasus receives it from the air and from the clouds. They’re constantly accumulating some from the air, but it isn’t enough, so they withdraw it from the clouds.”

“But the unicorns are a bit special… They get that energy from the sun and from the moon, but they don't spend it the same way.”

“The magic they use, like levitating things and the likes, don’t come from their horns, or from their cutie mark. Their magic comes from their own souls."

I couldn't help but turn my head right to my flank.

It was blank.

Gray, I mean.

"And the energy accumulated by their cutie marks, amplify and help the unicorn control that magic. So, if you had transformed in a Pegasus, or an earth pony, your soul would still be untouched, but…"

"Still, what's the problem? I mean, my soul has been... Modified, or whatever. What does it mean?"

"I-I'm not really sure. But I'll have to keep you here a bit, for further studies..." She seemed sorry.

"Good! That's a perfect excuse to spend some more time here." She blinked, a bit disoriented by my answer.

"What? Come on! I'm the one who asked for the spell! And I'm not going to explode or anything, right?"

"N-No but..."

I smiled, trying to comfort her.

"Okay, that's settled then! I really don't want to explode. I'm sure it hurts." She giggled and smiled back.

Good.

"And now... Do you have a mirror?"

She nodded and brought one from the next room, using her magic.

"Thanks, I want to see how I look right now." It was a pretty big mirror, a bit taller than Twilight, and the wooden borders told it was pretty old.

I took a deep breath and looked at it.

"Oh my, hey there Apollo..." I stood up and turned a bit, trying to get a better view of my entire body.

I was tall. Like, fuckin tall, at least as tall as Big mac, and nearly as bulky.

My coat was light-gray.

"Why is my mane so long?" My mane was of a darker-gray and there were some dark-orange tufts running through.

"Guh, what's with these colors? Aren't they strange?" She shook her head.

"Never mind... I'm still freaking badass." I smirked at the sight.

"Yeah, you're pretty badass. But certainly not as cool as me." My heart skipped several beats when I heard her voice.

I turned my head to look at her.

Her mane was a mess, and her eyes were still sleepy.

"Nor as cute..." I grinned when I saw her cheeks blush slightly.

Twilight coughed.

"Do you need some time alone or something? I can wait outside if you want..." She grinned while looking at her friend blushing even more and pouting while looking away.

Twilight looked at me and we shared a chuckle.

"To be true, I'd really want to get my body back. Can you do it now?" Twilight seemed surprised by my sentence.

"Yeah, I can but, why? I mean, why the sudden change of mind?"

"Mmh, I think it's just dumb to try to hide my true nature. And the whole town already saw my true form after all."

"Let alone the fact that I can't do anything without my hands... I can't walk, let alone run, I can't pick things... I can't even scratch my back!" She giggled and Dash approached me.

What is she...

She leaned her head forward, inches away from my ear.

"I can scratch it if you ask me to..." Her whispers made my heartbeats accelerate.

I bit my lower lip, trying to keep my composure.

Dash snickered loudly before grinning by satisfaction.

Twilight raised an eyebrow but didn't comment.

"J-Just give my hands back Twilight..."

She looked at her friend, trying to understand what just happened.

Dash was just looking at the ceiling, trying to act like if nothing happened.

"Please?" She shrugged.

"Are you sure about it?"

"Yeah." She nodded.

"Wait!" The two mares blinked.

"Just wait a sec." I stood up on my fours and started to walk towards the next room.

"I don't want to faint on the ground once again. I'm not made of rock." The two mares giggled.

It took me several seconds, but I made it to the couch.

Dash had to help me getting in though.

"There, you can cast it now. See you in a few hours!" I closed my eyes, trying to prevent the hazy feeling.

But it still feels weird.

"Soooo... 'Not as cute as you do', mmmh?" Twilight told in a sing-song voice while turning to her friend.

"And what was that whispering and snickering?" Dash was doing her best avoiding her friends accusing stare.

Twilight giggled.

"He seems really kind. Rarity herself said he was a true gentlecolt! And he saved Scootaloo. And you. He's a bit weird, but he's not from this world after all. You don't have anything to be ashamed of."

Dash turned to her friend, seeming offended.

"I-I'm not ashamed! And I know he's kind and all but... He's not a pony..." She said with a concerned voice while looking at the ground.

"I didn't think something like that would bother you... Even if it's unusual, there are many novels talking about romances between different species. Rarity just lent me one talking abo-" Dash interrupted her.

“I'm not bothered by that! The problem is... My father..." She was clearly troubled about that part.

"Oh? Well, you're a grown mare now. And you're living on your own, aren't you? I'm sure he would understand something like that if you take the time to explain it."

"No way. It would work with any other fathers, but not with mine. With a damn overprotective ex-captain of the royal guard. He scared to death every colt I took home, and they never talked to me anymore. Let alone a human..."

"I think you still should introduce Max to him, before giving it too many thoughts." Twilight comfortingly patted Dash's shoulder.

"They already met. And when he saw we were a bit... Close... I haven't seen him that mad for years..."

Twilight lifted her left hoof to her chin.

“Mmmhh… How about...”

Author's note²: Here we are!

Another fuckin cliffhanger!

Really, I don't get why nobody loves cliffhangers.

Well, nobody but me ;D

Hope the colors of my OC aren't too flashy.

GUH Oc's are so hard to make...

Next chapter with plenty of DAW.

See you again.

PS: I searched for the first version, and searched again for this one.

How do English peoples (Americans too ofc ;p) says for an overprotective father?

Here we would say ‘papa poule’, that means literally ‘Hen father’. But it seems like you don’t use this word.

Overprotective is fine but overprotective doesn’t seem to have the same sense than ‘poule’, which means caring and loving + being overprotective.

If anyone haves a tip on that.
