Chapter 1 - The PlanView OnlineTales of Dark EaterChapter 1 - The PlanDark Eater sat alone in a hotel room. There he sat, writing away, using unicorn magic to write in a journal he had made recently. Journal Entry #7 It has two weeks after escaping the dungeon in Canterlot. My original plan was obtain power enough to kill my father and that wretched witch Celestia. However, my original plan may now be changed. Originally, I was going to kill her due to crimes in causing a huge imbalance to the human world. Unfortunately, after being in this wonderful world filled with magic, I have realized something terrible. If she is killed, then this world will fall out of balance due to her being the controller of the Sun. If I kill her, I’ll be no different than her. If I kill her, I’ll be world breaking monster. So, ideally, I could find a way to eliminate her ability to longer be able to interfere with the human world. According to my calculations, Sunset Shimmer should you have been able to return the human world, I gave her an extra gem to get back in as one of my backup plans. Thankfully, before I was captured, I hid all the Starswirl scrolls in a part of the Everfree Forest so I got them later after escaping the dungeon. Now, I’m in this roach motel on the outskirts of Manehatten. I suspect soon, Celestia’a student Twilight will return to the human world as well. If my suspicions are correct, those three I met a few months back will probably go to Equestria High due to Sunset’s rampage with the Element of Magic. Those three are just another of Starswirl’s obsessive dumping of things into the human world. So, I think have to make an entirely new plan. However, first I have to gain a new power that rivals an alicorn or the elements. So what do I do? Let’s accomplish the first step and worry about the balance next. Dark Eater then put down the journal he had been writing into. He sat there, relaxing in the chair in the hotel room. He sat there, thinking about what he would do next. He knew he had to obtain power but that was it. He spent the past few days at the Manehattan magic library, researching the world of Equestria and examining magic of the world. But, he didn’t find what he was looking for. He then sat there, wondering where he would have to go next. He knew that the best magic library in Equestria was Canterlot which is the last place he could show his face in Equestria. He then decided he needed a changling spell. A spell to make himself look different enough to get in the archives but he couldn’t find a spell for it. There was only one library left for him look over and see if he can find a useful spell or item to beat Celestia. He then fell asleep, readying himself for tomorrow. The next day he went to the last library in Manehattan. He searched tooth and comb for any answers he could find. He then found a book about spells that require more than one unicorn. He knew from the start he had no use for such spells but he was out of ideas and would go with anything at this point. He opened the book and skimmed thru its pages. He then saw one that interested him. It read: 'Body size changing spell, requires at least three unicorns to work.' He then thought to himself, 'Three huh? This could work if I had my old gem, its power even in its lowest state was about five unicorns combined. I could make myself a smaller, more efficient model.' He then closed the book and pondered for a second. 'I don't have any tools to make a gem though. However, If I could find a jeweler here, perhaps. No, I need to make a plan first.' He pulled some pen and paper from his backpack and began to copy the spell from the book. He then went back to his hotel room and began to plan out how to make the gem. 'This will work,' he thought, 'I could do it in one night.' He then set out and found the local jeweler. He then left and bought some rope from a local store. Then night fell, and in the cover of the night, Dark Eater went to work. He used his unicorn magic and opened the back window of the jeweler’s store and sneaked in, gathering the tools inside the shop and began to work on gem. However, before starting he went upstairs to where the jeweler was sleeping and quietly blindfolded and tied him up. Dark Eater went to work furiously. He worked all night to craft a jewel of suitable power. The original he created to absorb the power of the Tree of Harmony took him months to make and even longer to design. This gem would be a small, one time power amplifier. It would break after the spell was cast at least twice and he knew it. So he prepared ahead and made two gems throughout the night. Exhausted, he went back upstairs and knocked out the jeweler who had just woke up as a just in case and then untied him. Dark Eater believed he might still need the rope. He then went back to his hotel and fell into a deep sleep. He later awoke and then went to the train station where he asked what the next day would be like for trains to Canterlot. He then set out his plan, he knew the Canterlot guards would be looking for him so he go to the restroom in the train and shrink and sneak into Canterlot and increase in size later when it was convenient. He then purchased a ticket for the next day under a false name and then went back to the hotel, still exhausted. He then slept the night away. The next day was the beginning the plan would unfold. He got on the train and began to think to himself, 'Okay, the plan is risky but it's my best bet to get information on obtaining a power capable of destroying Celestia. First, I shrink me and my stuff and then sneak into Canterlot. Then, at night I put myself back together and sneak into the Canterlot archive by any means necessary. This will work, I just know it.' He than sat on the chair and relaxed a little more. He knew he couldn't be tense, he just had to go for it. A couple hours later, the train announced that in half a hour the train would reach Canterlot. Dark Eater then slowly sneaked into the bathroom with all of his stuff and began the spell. His gem glowed as it synchronized with his horn. 'Okay this should work.' Dark Eater said, 'I only have one shot at this, but this gem should give the me the power of three unicorns for a small window of time.' He concentrated when suddenly the gem broke and a bright light engulfed him. He then collapsed onto the floor and then slowly got up. “Ow, what happened?” Dark Eater then looked into the bathroom mirror and was speechless. He has fallen into full shock. “No, no no, no no no no no no no no.....This can't be right.” he said as he looked at his stuff. His bags had shrunk some too. But Dark Eater had not shrunk or at least not to the tiny size he was hoping. “No no no... and the gem broke which means... I only have one shot out of this now....” he said as he looked at himself in the mirror. “Why? Why did this happen? Why? This wasn't supposed to happen, not like this.” He then stuttered, “W-w-why am I a-a-a f-f-f-filly?!!!”
Chapter 2 - Bump in the RoadView OnlineTales of Dark EaterChapter 2 - Bump in the RoadDark Eater kept looking at himself in the mirror, yelling, “This can’t be happening, this just can’t be happening!!! How did this happen? I know I didn’t do the spell wrong…What happened?!” Dark Eater paused and then started thinking, ‘Okay, I need to think about this. Maybe I can use this if I get off this train, but…’ He his horn then glowed. ‘I thought so, my magic is weaker as a filly. Well, I guess I have to adapt to that.’ Dark Eater peeked outside the restroom. ‘We’re almost there. Good…’ The announcer quickly announced they had arrived at Canterlot. Dark Eater quickly jumped into the crowd leaving the train. He quickly passed thru the guards as they were checking the other passengers. He quickly then dashed into the nearest alleyway. ‘Alright, now I just need to hide and wait till nightfall.’ Later that night, Dark Eater started his plan. He quickly rushed up to the Canterlot Castle’s garden. Sneaking thru the bushes, he pulled his rope out and used to get up to a window in the castle. He quickly looked around and saw no guards. He then thought, ‘Alright, I need to find the library as soon as possible, the flaw of this plan is if I don’t find anything useful there but I really don’t have a choice. It’s the only way to find something to beat an alicorn.’ He quickly found the library and began searching through the books and scrolls for several hours. ‘There’s nothing here, just theories, small spells, and nothing else. This is worthless!’ He put the books down he skimmed through. ‘Is this all there is?!’ He then looked at the time. It was maybe an hour till sunrise and he wouldn’t be able to sneak out if it was daytime. He then decided to give up, there was nothing worth getting here. He quickly snuck to a window and used his rope to get down. He then began running thru the garden and quickly got to the town part of the Canterlot. He then went thru the town and saw a way around the Canterlot’s outer wall. He quickly snuck out as the shade of night was slowly going away. He slowly descended the mountain and hid inside a cave he found on the side of the mountain. He then fell asleep. He then began dreaming, he was back in his cell in Canterlot in his dream. There were hundreds of chains on him. “What is this? Why am I back in the dungeon?” he exclaimed. Then on the other side of the bars there was dark blue alicorn, Princess Luna. She then spoke up, “Hello Dark Eater.” “Luna….So, this is a dream.” “Yes.” “Why are you here, Princess of the Night?” “I am one who walks through dreams, it would make less sense if I wasn’t here.” “You know, I actually respect you Luna, compared to your despicable sister.” “Oh really, why is that?” “You are someone who has looked at both sides of the spectrum. Seen what both offer like myself.” “I won’t deny it, but you on the other hand are struggling with it.” “What makes you say that?” “Because, my sister has asked me to find you within the dreams but you haven’t been dreaming at all.” “What’s the problem with not dreaming? Isn’t that normal?” “It means that your heart is uncertain right now. You’re not sure what you really want.” “What I want? I want a power to take on your sister. How am I uncertain?” “Are you sure? Do you really want that? Is that your true goal?” “My goal is to restore balance by getting rid of your interfering sister!” “No it isn’t, that’s an excuse.” Dark Eater paused and then asked, “What do you think is my true goal?” “You don’t have one, you just wanted to beat your father and now you don’t know what to do with your life.” “….” “You know it’s true don’t you?” “I won’t deny you’re not wrong.” “Oh really? I’m surprised you would admit it.” “However, isn’t your sister hunting me down? I haven’t killed anyone in Equestria. You do know that don’t you? I was trying to obtain the power of the Tree of Harmony in order to defeat the Gem of Keys.” “I know, and I could persuade her to stop hunting you if you stop your quest for power.” “But…” “No excuses, my sister knows what she had done and she knows not to interfere anymore.” “And I’m just supposed to sit here and she doesn’t get punished for all the atrocities she’s done?!” “….She has been punished more than you think.” “….” “Why do you hate her so much?” “Her human version is, well, a very oblivious person and very frustrating.” “….She’s like that here too.” “No kidding…” “Stop hunting for power and I will convince her otherwise.” “….Even if I did that, I have nowhere to go currently or anyway to get back to the human world.” “The mirror is now in the Ponyville castle, is that what you wanted?” “And I’m supposed to just waltz in there?” “We could tell the Princess of Magic ahead of time of your arrival.” “…..” Dark Eater paused as he thought about this, “No. I want to know more about this world.” “Oh really?” “I am a researcher first, balance maker second.” “Very well, I will tell my sister to stop hunting you.” “But I haven’t agreed to anything?!” “You already have, you just don’t know it yet.” “…..” Dark Eater woke up to see it was next day already. He then looked down the mountain and saw Ponyville. He paused and then decided to go down the mountain to the village. He walked for hours and finally collapsed. He had not eaten for over two days as he had been constantly working on his now failed plan. He was still in a filly's body causing him to have even less strength. He fell down on the road and his eyes slowly closed. “Darn, is this it?” he slowly said to himself, “Well, at least I can finally rest....” He soon woke up in a bed with birds chirping nearby. He then saw a yellow pony with pink hair come up to him. “Oh good, you're awake little filly. Are you felling better?” 'Oh no' thought Dark Eater. 'Not her.'
Chapter 3 - Beyond the FutureView OnlineTales of Dark EaterChapter 3 - Beyond the FutureDark Eater froze. He didn't know what to say to her. He knew he inadvertently killed to future self of the pony who found him, Fluttershy. 'Great,' he thought, 'How am I going to get out of this one...' “Are you alright?” she asked with a concerned face. “.....” Dark Eater did not know what to say. “Oh my, um, I'm Fluttershy, what's your name?” “.....I'm Blank Alternative.” lied Dark Eater. “Hmmm..that's a nice name. So why did you collapse outside of town?” “...I don't want to talk about it.” “Are you sure? Well I've asked Nurse Redheart to come by and check up on you later.” “Um, okay, could I just rest a little more please?” “Oh, sure, but don't you want something to eat?” “Um, sure.” Fluttershy gave him a plate with a salad. Dark Eater then began to eat the food very quickly. “My, you sure were hungry.” Fluttershy then turned around why Dark Eater was almost done with eating. Dark Eater completely finished and then stretched his legs. He saw she was talking to some bunnies outside her door, and he saw this as his moment to run. He quickly turned to the nearest window and quickly opened it and jumped out. He knew he had to leave immediately. He quickly looked around, making sure no one is following him. He couldn't face her, especially after the conversation he had with Luna. He quickly ran to the Everfree Forest and hid. Dark Eater sat there for a moment, pondering on what he had to do. His plan for finding power had failed, in fact, he was wondering if power was worth it. He sat there thinking and thinking. He knew if Celestia was eliminated, the balance of Equestria would be threatened. However, she was the biggest threat to his home world. But, he knew that Twilight now had the mirror and she's an alicorn, making her immortal. That means Celestia won't influence the human world while Twilight is around. He knows Twilight would not disrupt the balance. She's needed to basically restore the balance, such as when Sunset Shimmer went wild. In other words, everything is now pointless....just what could he do now? Dark Eater then pulled the gem he hid inside his mouth to turn his body back to normal. He sat there looking at the gem. His horn than began glowing and the gem broke, turning him back to normal. He looked at his form now and just sat there. “Ugh, now what do I do? I don't have a purpose or a goal.....nothing....” He then heard a bunch of hoofsteps. He looked around and saw several ponies looking around including Fluttershy. He looked around for a place to hide and then decided to just give up. He then walked out in front of the ponies. The Mane Six were there as well. “Everypony run!” yelled Twilight. Most of the other ponies ran as the Mane Six just stayed there, glaring at Dark Eater. “I'm not going fight you all.” “You better!” yelled Rainbow Dash. “....” “Dark Eater! Where is Blank Alternative? I know he ran off in this direction!” yelled Fluttershy. “.....You're looking right at him.” “What?” “Tell her Applejack, I'm not lying.” “....He's not lying sugarcube.” “No way.” “It was very different type of spell, don't worry about it.” “Why are you here?” “.....I, well, I'm not exactly sure right now.” “What do you mean?” “Yeah, aren't you evil and about to do evil things?!” asked Rainbow Dash. “....No, I'm done doing that, or to be more specific, I don't see the point of doing such things right now.” The Mane Six looked at each other, surprised. Fluttershy then spoke up, “Why were disguised as a filly?” “Um, its a long story.... I don't want to talk about it...look Fluttershy, I need to tell you something.” “What?” “I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what I did, causing the death of your future self and tricking you with that filly form.” The Mane Six looked surprised at him. “I'm, um, sorry for what I have done. I know that I was destined to horrible things in the future. I know I brainwashed Sunset and I planned to destroy Celestia. But I realized that I would never accomplish such things.” “You think that forgives what you have done?!” remarked Twilight. “.....That's true.” “Twilight stop.” asked Fluttershy. “But Fluttershy...” “No, that's enough.” “.....” “Look, Dark Eater. I understand what you mean. I understand what you are trying to do.” said Fluttershy. “What do you mean?” “Dark Eater, I once became a pony filled with anger. I started treating my friends horribly because I was taught by someone who thought it was good to be mean.” “....” “I met your father in the dungeon in Canterlot.” “Don't talk about him in front of me...” “I have too, Your father, he was nothing but a ball of anger and malice. When I see you, you are trying whatever you can to not become him.” “I'm nothing like him!” said Dark Eater shivering. “You are and you're not Dark Eater. I can see you are trying every way to not become him.” “....Thanks.” “Let me help you, Dark Eater.” “Fluttershy!” yelled the other Mane Six. Dark Eater just stood there, unable to move. No one was ever kind to him, yet living kindness stood before him. “Thank you but no Fluttershy.” “Why?” “I'm leaving.” “Where are you going to go?” “Somewhere beyond Equestria. Thanks to what you said, I'm going to keep traveling. I need to leave this land before Celestia and her disgusting ways capture me and imprison me in her dungeon.” “Are you sure?” “Yeah.” Then Dark Eater's horn glowed brightly and then a smokescreen happened as Dark Eater ran away. He left Ponyville as fast as possible and went lands unknown. He knew staying in Equestria was not worth it anyway. He left and never meant to return. Though one day he might....
