What In Equestria?

Chapter 9

I woke up to some big purple eyes this morning. Once I could focus it was Scootaloo staring at me. “Scootaloo what is it?” I asked yawning. “Can you help Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and I get our Cuite marks today?” she asked almost yelling. “Umm yeah I don’t see why not.” Once I said that she just started to freak out and say, “Today we are you to try bungee jumping, lion taming, tight rope walking, and Demolition.” As she said that I cringed once I thought about everything that could happen.

“Umm don’t you think some of that stuff is kind of dangerous?” I said, “No none of that is dangerous, it’s just fun.” She spoke up; all I did was nod to agree. So we got ready then we went to pick up the girls. First place we went to was Raritys to pick up Sweetie Belle. So I knocked on the door and waited for an answer. Then Rarity opened the door, “Oh hello Andrew and Scootaloo, how may I help you?” then she motioned us to come in so we did.

“We are just here to pick up Sweetie Belle I decide I was going to help them get their cutie marks today.” Once I said that Rarity looked at me in horror. “Andrew do you know what you’re getting yourself into doing that?” she said. “Well the sad part is yeah I know what I’m getting into but I can handle it. Oh by the way I have got something for you and I think you might like it.” I said pulling a scroll out of my bag. “Here this should help you with your dress making.” She looked at me and accepted the scroll and took a look at it. “Andrew how did you come up with such a thing?” she said looking at the scroll with her mouth hanging open.

“It was easy, now I would like to see you try it.” I said and she turned around to cast the spell. She went over to one of her new dress designs she had on a piece of parchment. Then once she casted the spell the whole room let up in a magical aura. Sheets of fabric moved on their own and needles threaded themselves. The design she used it on was now floating. Everything in the room went to work on making the dress. “Once it is done you can still make the changes you want but the spell will make the dress for you.” I said smiling. She turned around and hugged me. “Thank you so much Andrew and you gave me this spell just in time I have to make forty-seven dresses this week.” She said mortified of how many she had to make. “No problem, I’m just trying to help everypony.” Then Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle came running down the stairs. Sweetie Belle jumped at me and wrapped around me. “Hi Andrew!” she next to screamed. “Umm hello Sweetie Belle.”I said then she crawled onto my right shoulder. Then I picked up Scootaloo and put her on my head.

“Well Rarity I will bring her back later and don’t worry I will keep her safe.” I smiled and waved back at her as I walked out. “Andrew can you make us fly or teleport to Apple Bloom?” they both asked. “No, just because I now have these powers I’m not going to be using them for everyday tasks and I will not abuse them. We can just walk to the farm.” After I said that they just sighed. But eventually we got to the farm. When I was getting ready to knock on the door I felt Twilight was trying to use the wing spell I used on her yesterday. “Twilight if I may ask, why are you trying to use the wing spell?” I asked her. “Well I would like to study them for awhile to see how the nerves connect to my body.” She said, so I let her use the spell. “Twilight don’t abuse them or I will have to take them away, ok.” I said sternly. “You have my word Andrew I will only use them today for study. And thank you.” She exclaimed. “You’re welcome.” I said.

Then after that I knocked on the door and Apple Jack opened it. “Good morning Apple Jack, is Apple Bloom here?”I asked with a smile. “Yeah, come on in, you girls can run up and grab her, she is in her room.” When she said that they were off in a puff of smoke. “So what are you doing with the girls?” she asked, but before I could answer I had three little fillies wrapped around me that answered. “He’s going to help us get our cutie marks today.” After they said that she just looked at me with a slight scared smile. “Umm Andrew are you sure you want to do that?” “Don’t worry Apple Jack I got this under control.” I assured her.

“Ok girls what is first on the list?” I asked hesitantly. “Bungee jumping!” they screamed. “Are you all sure you want to do this?” they just nodded. So while we were on the way there we just talked about all of their past attempts of trying to acquire their cutie marks. While we all laughed about everything they tried, we made it to town hall which was perfect for some small bungee jumping but not too much. While I got everything ready they just watched me set it all up. Once I was done they all strapped in and I created a ward down at the bottom just in case something did go wrong.

They stood on the ledge unsure if they still wanted to do it or not. “Andrew are you sure it is safe?” asked Sweetie Belle. “Yes Sweetie Belle I promise it is safe.” I said with a smile. Once I said that Scootaloo pushed them off and jumped behind them. As they headed down they were all screaming but once they hit the last of their line I could hear them groan as it shot them back up. All I could do is laugh at them as they bounced around. After I got them down and I cleaned up everything. I could see they were depressed.

At this point they didn’t want to do anything else to try and get their cutie marks. I couldn’t take this depression any longer I said I was going to help them get their cutie marks and I’m going to do it. “Hold on girls give me a second, I have an idea how to show you how to get your cutie marks but I got to do something first.” They sat there waiting for me to do something. “Twilight are you there?” I asked. “Yeah I’m here Andrew, what do you need?” “Would you like to help me do something and learn a new spell?” I asked. “Of course!” she said. So I teleported her to me.

“Ok I have an idea but you have to promise me that you will pay attention to what you see and learn from it ok?” I said. They all agreed and promised that they would. “Twilight you know the Star Swirl the Breaded time spells right?” I asked. “Yeah, why?” she said. “Well with his spell you could only go back for a minute, while with the one I made you can go back as long as you would like, but I can either make us like ghost so no one can see or touch us or I can make us like normal and visible.” I explained. “How did you do that it took him his whole life just to perfect his? While you can make one in no time at all.” She asked. “Twilight one day soon I will show you. But for today I promised them I would help them get their cutie marks.”

“Girls hop on me and hold on tight. Twilight come here.” The girls hopped on and held on tight while Twilight walked over and I put my hand on the center of her head. “Ok girls once I use this spell and we are done I’m going to most likely be extremely worn out and we are going to have to eat once it is over. Are you all ready?” I explained. “Ok we understand.” They all said. Then they nodded. “Ok here we go hold on tight.” For such a powerful spell I had to channel a lot of my energy into it. As the power grew the ground around us started to give and tiny pieces started to float up into the air. Then with the final part of the channel there was an extreme blast of light.

Once I regained my composure I saw everyone else was still a little dazed from the trip. After they shook it off I asked, “Is everyone ok?” “Yeah were all ok” they replied. We had landed right where I wanted us to. I saw Apple Jack followed by the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I pointed them out and they looked over and watched. Apple Jack was taking them to the tree house she was going to give to them. “Now I want you all to pay attention to what each one of you all do.” I said. They just nodded and went back to watching themselves as I sat down up against a tree. Twilight was watching as well amazed by what was going on.

It had gotten to the point at which Apple Bloom was working on the tree house. “Apple Bloom I want you to pay attention to yourself and what you do here.” I said and she nodded and turned back around to concentrate. By the time she had finished on the tree house she was looking confused at what sat in front of her. I knew she was in deep thought about what she did to the tree house that day.

Then Scootaloo was sitting at the piano and trying to write the song they were going to use in the show. “Scootaloo this part is for you pay attention.” I said. “Ok Andrew I will.” She turned around and focused. At this point Apple Bloom was behind her trying to dance then she fell on Scootaloos tail. Then Scootaloo showed Apple Bloom a bit of dance moves and taught her a little bit. After that part was over I saw Scootaloo grab her head and start to think about what she had just seen.

Now Sweetie Belle was running after the roll of fabric that was rolling down the hill and bounced over the piano Scootaloo was sitting at. “Sweetie Belle this is all you watch close.” She just nodded still watching. I knew she wanted hers bad and she just didn’t know what it could be. As she was running after the fabric she stopped to see how Scootaloo was doing with the lyrics to the song. Once she realized Scootaloo was getting nowhere fast she helped her with the lyrics. I could see Sweetie Belle didn’t get it but everything was done at this point in time.

“So girls did you learn anything about yourselves?” Twilight asked. “Well I think I learned that I’m good at building things and somewhat of a designer as well.” Apple Bloom said. “I think I learned that I’m good at dancing and stunts. After they said what they had learned Sweetie Belle just started to cry. I went over and picked her up. “Sweetie Belle what’s wrong?” I asked as sweet as I could. “I didn’t learn anything about myself.” She said in-between her sobs. “Ok everypony hop on.” After they hopped on I stuck out my hand on Twilight once more with Sweetie Belle still in my arms. “Here we go.” Then in a bright flash I took us into another part of time.

We were now in Fluttershys bedroom the night that the Cutie Mark Crusaders stayed there. “Ok Sweetie Belle this one is just for you, watch.” I said. She looked over still lying in my arms. Fluttershy was singing Hush Now Quite Now. Then Sweetie Belle took over singing in her amazing voice. I then looked down at her in my arms I saw it hit her and her eyes lit up. “Ok everypony here we go.” And I took us back to our own time.

Once we got back I fell on my back drained of just about all of my energy. “I hope that was worth it all to you it feels like it almost killed me, but I just need to get some of my energy back and I will be fine.” I said sitting up just to be knocked back down by three tight hugs. “But Andrew how are we going to get our cutie marks?” asked Scootaloo. “You all would probably like your cutie marks tonight wouldn’t you?” I asked but that was a stupid question as I almost got defended by their answer. “YES!” they screamed at me. “Well if you all work hard for the rest of the day you can get your cutie marks tonight, but you have to listen to what I tell you to do, ok?” I said. “Ok we will listen to you.”

“Twilight if you and the others could go around and tell everyone to be at town hall tonight for a show of epic proportions by the Cutie Mark Crusaders, we would greatly appreciate it.” I said and she nodded and ran off to tell the others. “Ok girls are you ready to get to work?” I asked “YEAH!” they replied.

“Ok you all are going to be doing a dance and singing like you did at the talent show but I am going to be switching up the roles of each of you ok. Apple Bloom you are going to build the set and make the costumes. Scootaloo you are going to be in charge of cerography so you need to make up the dance and teach it to Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. Sweetie Belle you are going to be in charge of coming up with a song and the lyrics and teach Scootaloo and Apple Bloom the lyrics. I am going to be putting the stage together for you all while you get ready. So let’s get to work.” I said.

I summoned everything they would need or could use to do what they needed to do. While they got to work I started to build the stage in front of town hall with my magic so it would go fast so I could go and do some other things I had to do. It didn’t take me long to finish the stage with magic so I was off on the next thing I had to do. I ran off to Vinyl’s and Octavia’s house and knocked on the door. They both answered it to see who it was. “Oh hello Andrew.” Vinyl said nervously because of past events. “I know it is kind of sudden but I need your help tonight with something.” I said quickly. “What do you need our help with Andrew?” they both asked. “I was wondering if you all could provide music for the show that is going to be going on tonight and then at a party after the show?” I said.

“Well of course we will help, what do you need us to do?” they both asked. “Just go talk to Sweetie Belle over by town hall and she will get you to do what she needs help with. And after the show is done I need some of the best party music you all can get because it is going to be quite the bash. Oh and don’t mention the party to the girls ok.” I explained. “Oh don’t worry about the party music I got that covered.” Said Vinyl. “Oh before I go I was wondering if I could see your eyes Vinyl? I have always wondered what they look like.” I could tell she was staring at me weird underneath her sunglasses. But she took them off but her eyes were closed. At this point I stopped breathing. Then she opened her eyes. I about fell over dead once she opened them. They were a bright yet deep red that just looked amazing. “Damn that’s cool… Oh umm sorry for the swearing, but I got to go.” As I was leaving I could hear Vinyl chuckling as I ran to the next thing on my list.

Finally after running for what felt like forever I made it to Sugar Cube Corner. I walked in and straight up to the counter. “Umm hello Mrs. Cake is it possible you all can take a catering job tonight? I know it is short notice but it is for the Cutie Mark Crusaders because they are going to be getting their cutie marks tonight.” I explained. “No problem Andrew what would you like everything to say?” she asked. So I explained how I wanted everything to look and everything to say. After I said thank you I grabbed a quick bite and said goodbye I decided I was running out of time fast so I teleported to the next place I needed to go.

I was now at Sweet Apple Acres. Apple Jack was over by the barn working on something so I ran over to her. “Hello Andrew, what are you doing here?” “I am here to ask you if I could use the farm for a party this evening after the show is over. Because this is the only place big enough for a party for all of Ponyville.” I said. “Well sure you can use the farm for the party.” She said. “Thank you Apple Jack. I will see you later today.” I said. Now I only had to send three special invitations to invite three special guests and they accepted the invitations in no time.

The sun was almost all the way down. It was almost time for the show so I teleported back to town hall. I ran over to the girls, they were surrounded by Twilight, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Octavia, Vinyl, and now Apple Jack who I brought with me. “Are you all ready to go on?” I asked. They ran over and said, “Yeah we are ready to go on.” So I took them back stage and they lined up in front of me staring up at me. I could tell they were nervous. “You all are nervous aren’t you?” They nodded. “I thought you all would be so I got you all a confidence boost.” Then there was a bright flash of magic behind them as I teleported two of the special guest here.

They turned around and saw Princess Celestia and Princess Luna in front of them. “Well hello my little ponies.” Princess Celestia said. They sat there frozen as the ruler of Equestria and her sister were here to watch them earn their cutie marks. “From what I hear you all are nervous about going out on stage, yes?” asked Princess Luna. All they could do was nod. “There is no need to be nervous my little ponies for if this is your true special talent it will just flow through your body and take over, you won’t even realize anyone is watching you.” Then Princess Celestia and Princess Luna lay down and wrapped their wings around them. Then they both said, “Don’t worry you all will do just fine. Just remember let it flow through you.” They then stood up and went out in front of the stage. “See you all will be fine even Princess Celestia and Princess Luna believe in you.” They turned around with three of the biggest smiles I have ever seen in my life, even making Pinkies Smile look like a frown. “Alright girls go on and get out there when you all are ready just let me know telepathically and I will open the curtains.” They nodded and I headed to the front of the stage. Everyone in Ponyville was there.

Once I sat down I got the message that they were ready so I opened the curtain. As I opened the curtains the music started. Then the show started and the lights came on to revile everything that Apple Bloom had made it was all amazing. The costumes she made were even better. I couldn’t believe she did such a nice job. Then there was Scootaloo who taught them all how to dance and she did a great job in doing so. Every step was on time with each other. It also matched the music perfectly. Then came Sweetie Belle who taught Apple Bloom and Scootaloo to sing. Her voice was a gift from Celestia herself. Her voice was soft yet firm so she could sing loud. In all they were doing perfect I couldn’t help but shed a tear as the show went on.

I was so proud of them and how much work they put into it showed how bad they wanted their cutie marks and with a show like this I knew they were going to get them after it was over. As I sat there over joyed I saw everyone in the crowd was crying softly even Princess Celestia and Princess Luna themselves were tearing up over the sheer joy of them doing what they were meant to do. As the show went on I could only think back to their attempts to get their cutie marks, they have worked so hard for so long but now their dreams were at long last going to come true. As the show started to end the music slowly started to die down then the lights went out and I closed the curtains. The crowd was dead silent. Then I went back stage.

There the three little fillies sat trying to catch their breath after such a performance. I walked up to them and said, “Would you all like to make a grand entrance to see what the crowd thought of you.” They nodded with somewhat scared looks on their faces. So I teleported us to the front of the stage with a bright flash of light. After they looked around at the crowd that sat dead silent, the crowd busted out into cheers that could be heard from Canterlot. I could see smiles start to form on the Cutie Mark Crusaders faces as the crowd cheered for them nonstop. Then there was a quick bright flash that came from the three fillies. At that point I knew it was over, we just had to wait for them to look but they didn’t. They were still stunned by the crowd. I then walked over to them and told them. “Umm you all might want to take a look at your flanks if you want to see the payout of your hard work.” Once I said that they looked at each other and turned around at the same time to see what they got.

On Apple Blooms flank was a hammer crossed by a needle with an apple underneath that they rested on. At least she is still sticking to the Apple Family Heritage. Then on Sweetie Belles flank was a diamond incrusted microphone. At least she got some of what Raritys Skill was but her style was with her voice. Then on my Daughters’ flank what looked like to be a two horse shoes moving around each other in synchronization. I knew her cutie mark fit her perfectly even though she is a bit of a tomcolt. I was tackled onto my back on the stage in front of everyone with the hugs and tears of the three fillies that had grown on me so much over the time I have been here. “I couldn’t be more proud of you all, you all worked so hard for what you desired and you earned it hands down, and just remember no one can ever take this moment away from you ever because each one of you is special in your own way and no one can change that. I…I can’t even think what to say to you all other than I am so happy that you all have found out who you are and what you all are going to be in life.” I sat there crying with the fillies in my arms.

I knew everyone else was crying as well. Then Twilight, Rarity, Apple Jack, Fluttershy, Ditzy Doo, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie pie, Princess Luna, and Princess Celestia surrounded me and the fillies on the stage. Then we a gathered in to one great group hug and at that moment I have never felt more emotions towards anything in my life even as the Princesses cried tears of joy. I knew today had been a great day one that would never be forgotten in the land of Equestria for as long as this land would be here. After everyone had calmed down and cooled down a bit Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo got up on Princess Celestias back after she had lifted them through the air to her. Then I finally got up and said, “Thank you everyone for the support you have shown these three fine fillies now if everyone would like I have been planning a party all day just for them. Everyone who would not like to go please speak up now.” There wasn’t a single noise. “Ok here we go hold on to your coat.” As I summoned up the last bit of strength I had left, I teleported everyone to the farm where the party was about to begin.

Once Vinyl started the music the party began. I was sitting down trying to regain some of my energy while everypony else was dancing. While I sat there Princess Luna came up to me and held out a wing. “You want me to dance with you?” I was totally confused at this moment, she nodded. So I stood up feeling like I was going to fall. But I caught myself and I took her wing. She then led me to where everypony was dancing. I then started to dance with a princess one thing I would have never thought I would do in my life. But I must say she was rather good at dancing. It was fun and I could tell she was having a good time. I didn’t want to do what I was about to do and I knew it was abusing the powers I had but I had to know.

So while we were dancing I started to read her mind and as soon as I got in there I found what I didn’t want to find in seconds. Princess Luna was falling in love with me. I also think she knew I had found out about her feelings for me. But I had to find something else out. “Princess Luna if I may be excused to go ask your sister a question about a private matter?” she didn’t want the dancing to end but she nodded to let me go. “I will be back to finish this dance, so if you could save it for me.” I saw her blush and nod.

I got to Princess Celestia whom was standing off to the side watching me dance with her sister. “Hello Princess Celestia.”I said. “Hello Andrew, I was just watching you dance with my sister. She seemed very happy while she was dancing with you, I can also feel that she might be falling for you.” She said causally. “Yes I know I can feel it growing in her as well. That is one reason I came here. I need to ask you something. I have read through the whole book The Laws of Equestria but I cannot find what I am looking for. I was wondering if there is an older book of laws that I may possibly read?” I asked then in a quick flash of magic a book appeared. “I believe what you are looking for is on page three hundred sixty one. If I am not mistaken.” I opened the book to the page and there was what I was looking for. The exact words I have been looking for the past couple of days. I read it a couple of time to make sure I was reading correctly. Then I closed the book and it disappeared in a flash of magic once again. “Thank you Princess, now that I know what I can do I promise you I will put it to good use.” She nodded in agreement and smiled. “If I may take my leave.” She nodded. I made my way back to Luna to finish our dance. At first I could tell that she didn't think I was going to come back but I surprised her when I did.

We finished our dance and after it was over I also danced with Fluttershy and Ditzy Doo before the night was out. After the party was over I thanked everypony for everything they had done, then I teleported them all to their homes. I also teleported Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and spike back to where I had taken them from. After I said my goodbyes to everyone I teleported the rest of my friends home after telling them all goodnight. Then I finally teleported Scootaloo, Fluttershy, and I home. Fluttershy went straight to bed; I picked up Scootaloo and took her up to bed. I sat her down and she looked up at me and lay down on the bed. I then lay down next to her. She came up to my head and looked me in the eye. “Dad thank you for everything you have done for me so far and I know things are only going to get better as time goes on. I love you so much daddy.” She wrapped herself around my neck not easing her grip for a second; I could feel her hot tears against my cheek. I returned the embrace, crying as well and we stayed like that till we fell asleep.
