I stood on my hind legs holding a blunt wooden sword readying it for a swing. I was out the front of the house standing on a wooden stage of kind that me and Cosmos was using for practice with weapons.

"Get ready" Cosmos said in the same pose as me.

Tia and Lulu begun cheering and laughing there front legs just dangling over the stadium like a dog trying to run up your leg.

"Go Sombra"! Tia cheered.

"WOOHOO" Tia shouted towards me.

Cosmos threw his sword to the ground "Hey why are you rooting for him and not your old man!" Cosmos yelled in frustration.

"Because Sombra's cool!" Lulu shouted throwing her legs above her head falling backwards on the grass.

A bead of sweat trailed down Cosmos's head as his eye twitched. "Yeah well, if you start cheering for me I'll give you 1 minute of access to take whatever you like if you start cheering for me!" Cosmos said proudly.

Tia and Lulu looked at each other and there eye's grew in excitement. "Go Dad you can do it!" Tia shouted.

"Win Dad win!" Lulu shouted falling backwards onto the grass again.

"Hey that's not fair or funny!" I shouted pointing my sword at Cosmos.

"Your just being a poor sport. Besides how good you are isn't determined by who's cheering for you, it's how your mind is set." Cosmos said feeling pretty proud of himself.

"...So what the hell are you doing!" I said.

"Don't counter my logic with logic, I'm there father and I need there approval to feel like a real man! Now less chatting and more fighting. GO!" Cosmos boomed.

With that I swung my wooden sword at Cosmos. He countered it with his sword and went for a kick. I spun to my right and went for him with my sword.

"YOU CAN DO IT DAD" Tia and Lulu called out in sync.

Cosmos ducked and grabbed my hoof holding the sword and twisted it

"Gah, OK I give, I GIVE!" I shouted letting my sword fall out of my hoof.

Cosmos let go of my hoof and stood back up. "not bad" was all Cosmos said.

"NOT BAD! I've been training for 6 months and I can't get more then a 20 second match with you" I barked. "When fighting it isn't about how long you can make the fight go for but how quickly and clean you can do it. However you are right. Not once have you beaten me. That's not because you can't fight well but because your too scared of pain. You gave in and dropped your sword at the first sign of any real trouble." Cosmos said.

I sighed. I wasn't going to fight he was right. I chickened out at the first sign of me getting hurt. "Your right and I'm sorry Cosmos. But geez did you have to twist so hard? I said rubbing my hoof.

"Your enemies wont be so easy on you. They would of broken your hoof and then worse." Cosmos said.

F-fine... lets just try again." I said. We got back into our ready stances eyeing each other for weaknesses.

"Ready..." Cosmos said.

"Everyone!" Sunny called. We both turned around when we heard her call out. "Dinners ready!" She said. As soon as she said that the sun switched to night.

After dinner I headed upstairs to my room. "ugh" I said getting in my desk chair. I looked around wiping the sleep from my eyes and opened my new diary.

Diary entry #32. Day 185.

Over the past few months I've been in Equestria I feel like I've learnt more about life then what I ever had. No more roaring cars or speeding trains to confuse whatever your thinking. Or

billboards and men in suits on TV to dictate what you want and how you should live. To spite how bleak this time I live in is I live with the best ponies (more like only ponies) I've ever known. Tia

and Lulu treat my like I'm there brother and I treat them like as if they were my sister. In a strange way they are... maybe because I consider them family and they consider me family. A weird type of family.

But I still feel like something bad is going to happen... like luck is going to run out. Where would I go or what would I do if I didn't have them? I would starve, die maybe. Possibly

something worse. So much I don't know out there beyond what I can see. It really makes me want to know what the rest of the world is like but as the saying goes curiosity killed the cat.

And then there's Pinkie Pie... oh Pinkie... being in this world has only made me even more sick for you... the countless hours I've woken up paced around the castle thinking of you. I cant

even describe it. I'm so close to you and so far I'm starting to think that i'll never see you. I don't think your even born yet... and what if you are dead, and you were with someone else. I don't know anymore. All I know is that no matter how long it takes, no matter what I have to do, I will eat from a chocolate fountain with you. MARK MY WORDS!

I closed the book and planted my face into it. "I think to much" I mumbled.

Not even bothering to get up and walk over to the bed I just closed my eyes and went to sleep where I was.

My tired body begun to wake up as felt something was moving me. I opened my eye up slowly waking up.

"Sombra are you awake?" I heard Sunny say.

"Pinkie?" I said still in that dream like tired stage.

"who? Sombra it's sunny-" Sunny was cut off.

"And Cosmos!" Cosmos stated proudly.

My eyes shot open when I realized it was then. "I'M UP! Fire? Is there fire" I said sitting up straight rubbing my eye.

"No, there isn't a fire." Sunny said.

"Time is waiting. The point is we want to talk to you in the living room. Privately." Cosmos said.

The conversation at hoof we were having was much more serious then I ever could of guessed. For the most part what they were saying I couldn't make out. My ears felt like they were ringing the whole time my only answer answer to there questions was either a nod or standard yes. The talk went on for at least 20 minutes, always switching between day and night, now being day.

"So do you understand what were trying to tell you." Sunny said with Cosmos front right leg around her. Suddenly my ears came back and I could hear again.

"Y-yes I do... You want to adopt me. And by doing that I would be apart of the royal family. But even if you did adopt me it wouldn't make me a prince because both your royal abilities have been stripped of you so you wouldn't be able to transform me, but only call me your son. That also means that unless you can get your powers back it's more then likely I will die before you two or Tia and Lulu would die." I said.

"We know its a lot to take in, but truth is we just love you. You've given so much to this family that now you are our family and I think you feel the same way. Were not forcing you, if you don't wan't to do this then just say it's not going to change how we feel. Were just giving you the opti-" I cut sunny off.

"yes. I'd love too... I mean these past 6 months have been the happiest time of my life. You guys are my family and I would be honored to be your son." I said.

Sunny begun to let out tears "oh honey... were so happy to here that." Sunny said.

Truth is while I would of said yes to their request no matter the circumstances. A part of me was more or less using them. The idea of being that powerful. Living for that long. The possibility of being able to see Pinkie Pie. I know it's stupid and even a little twisted, but don't tell me you wouldn't feel the same if you had your way.

I was back in bed asleep. Cosmos made the joke that since I'm now his son I have to go to bed when he tells me to.

"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!" I jumped out of bed almost having my ear drums burst out from Tia and Lulu screaming in my ear.

"What is it with you ponies and not letting me sleep!" I yelled rubbing my ears. The two fillys ignored me and simply started jumping atop of me.

"YOUR OUR BROTHER, YOUR OUR BROTHER" They kept repeating.

"and your brother wants sleep so shoo" I said laying back under the covers with a huff .

They didn't stop.

"FINE I'M UP!" I yelled.

I walked down the stairs, Tia and Lulu so excited I might as well tripped over them down the stairs.

"good morning" I heard Cosmos say flipping some pancakes.

"You did this to me" was all I said with to excited little girls hanging off me trying to fight for who gets to stay on my back.

"I tried to stop them" Cosmos said.

"You could of tried harder." I said Cosmos chuckling to himself.

"OK girls get off Sombra before you break something or him" Sunny said sitting at the table.

"Yes listen to your mother, or our mother. Whoa that's weird to say" I said.

"You don't have to call me Mum if you don't want to. Sunny is just fine." Sunny said with a smile.

"Oh its not that its just you know. I've never called anyone mother." I said.

"Oh right. Well now you have one" Sunny said.

"uh yeah I guess I do Sun- uh Mum..." I said. Sunny smiled at me.

We all sat around the table eating to our hearts content.

"These pancakes never get old" Tia said.

"Thanks Tia" Cosmos replied.

"Ow, what?" Cosmos said out of context.

Sunny let out a sigh "Tell him" Sunny said.

Cosmos looked confused for a moment. "Oh right. Were having pasta tonight" Cosmos said to me.

"no you daft man about the trip." Sunny said knocking Cosmos over the back of his head with her hoof. Cosmos blinked

"oh uh yes, yes um Sombra you and me are going on a little father to son camping trip for the day. Call it whatever you like I don't really care." Cosmos said super nonchalantly.

Before I could speak Tia stood up on the table.

"WHAT? Why do you get to hog him?" Tia yelled.

"Tia get down from the table!" Sunny said. Tia did as she commanded.

"look you get to spend every other moment with him and guess what? After this we as in me and your father are planing to go out on a date and with Sombra in charge of you two." Sunny said.

"I feel like i"m the last one to know about everything here" I said.

"This could of gone so much smoother" Cosmos groaned. "Look "m taking Sombra out camping for one night because its something I've wanted to do for a long time and today's the first chance I get. And after that I was going to let Sombra stay home with you two for a night alone. Does everyone got that."

Everyone nodded including me.

"good. Sombra, we leave after breakfast" Cosmos said.

We all went back to our meals and this one thought kept looming over me. "uh one last thing." I said.

"yes" Cosmos replied. "Is this safe? I mean I haven't even been out the vicinity." I said. "pfft, it'll be fine. Were in like a bowel. No one comes down here... most the time" Cosmos

mumbled. "You ready to go or what?!" Cosmos shouted.

"I told you to stop shouting!" Sunny barked.

"Now your shouting" Cosmos shouted.

"I am not shouting!" Sunny shouted.

"yes you are"

"no I'm not"

"yes you are"

"no I'm not"

"I'm ready if you two stop shouting" I said standing atop the stair case with my saddle bags. The two both had a bit of shock on there face when I said that.

"OK whatever. Get ready to roll out" Cosmos said. I ran down the stairs after him but the Sunny stooped us both.

"You can not go with out your kisses." Sunny said.

"what are we 6?" Cosmos said.

"Too bad" Sunny said jumping into Cosmos planting various kisses over his face.

"ugh get off. koodies" Cosmos said wiping the kisses away looking like he wasn't trying to enjoy it..

"And you" Sunny said planting a big kiss on my face. I couldn't hold back the blush.

"OK can we go, any objections... good lets go." Cosmos said.

"Wait what about our kisses" Lulu said pulling on my leg

"Ugh, Come on were burning daylight we got like 2 minutes till the sun goes down!" Cosmos said.

"aren't you two too old for kisses?" the two seemed startled by what I said.

"no" They both said in sync.

I rolled my eyes. "Fine" First I kissed Lulu on her chubby little cheek and Tia on hers.

"The two girls started to snicker after they received them.

"Good were going. GOODBYE!" Cosmos shouted teleporting us into the yard.

"Bye!" the others shouted from the door. "quickly, before something else" I said. ME and Cosmos started letting out small laughs as we sprinted off.

"Aw boy you have no idea how long I've wanted to do this with a son of mine." Cosmos said lifting up a branch for me.

"I mean don't get me wrong having two daughters is better than I thought That's why I had two but man, there's only so many times they can put make up on my face in the morning before you start thinking about decisions you made." Cosmos said.

"Well what sorta things will we do?" I said hopping over a few rocks on a stream.

"What will we do!? well were gonna roast marshmallows, make fire, Big fire, im going to teach you how to live in the wild. Basically we'll be manly men." Cosmos said.

"Says the guy with the flower collection." Cosmos stopped behind me and then mumbled something under his breath.

The hike went on for another like 10 minutes getting and the forest got denser and denser and denser as we went on. The rocks started to get bigger, tree's thicker, you look up and the higher the green got with more mulch on the ground. Moss almost everywhere you look, I was seeing new kinds of animals I had never seen before it was amazing! And there were little streams popping up all around the place. Some flowed out of rocks and others just passed by the trees.

"so... where are we going exactly." I said letting out a huff climbing over a rock.

If I remember properly theirs this little nearby clearing me and Sunny use to make out at all the time before we had kids. Oh memories" Cosmos said trailing off.

Not the weirdest thing I've heard anyone say I thought. A few more minutes went on and then mist started to roll in. Weird weather.

"So is this it?" I said. "Cosmos took a look around and then walked over to a tree examining it. "Yep" Cosmos said.

"How could you tell? The tree?" I said.

"I etched Sunny and I's name into it" Cosmos said giving the tree a hearty smack. "see" Cosmos said

I walked over to the tree and there it was. It said "Sunny + Cosmos forever" inside a heart shape with an arrow threw it. "romantic" I said.

"yeah girls dig that stuff" I felt like saying you got lucky but decided not too.

We lay out sleeping bags and got some sticks and wood and made a little spot for the fire. While Cosmos set up a invisibility spell I cleared the are of any sticks and leaves.

"it must be awesome to be a unicorn" I said.

"I'd say Earth pony's have there advantages as well but lets face it. They don't." Cosmos said.

"I mean you can move stuff and make stuff disappear then reappear without even touching it. Oh, and then you can make spells and go back in time and stuff." I said. Cosmos looked up at the

air in glee. "yeah, it is pretty good. OK there is one downside to it." Cosmos said.

"Whats that?" I replied.

I poked someones eye out with my horn once." I stopped what I was doing when I heard that.

"what?! OW that would hurt. Like the eye came out with the horn?" Cosmos slowly nodded.

"Uh huh, I was just walking around the corner with my head down and bam, clean out. This was a pretty big problem at one point, but there was a spell to heal it but this poor girls eye came

straight out. Never saw it coming poor thing." Cosmos said.

"That's a really sick story to tell you know? right" I said.

Cosmos shrugged "you get over it."

"...Hey Cosmos..." I said.

"Yeah." Cosmos said.

"Have you ever killed someone." I said.

"Yep, but I'd take em all back." Cosmos said picking at his teeth with a tooth pick.

"How do you say that? Like I was expecting a I don't want to talk about it response but you just flat out admitted it and said you regret it. Why?" I said leaning upwards.

"Because no matter what you are you don't deserve death as a punishment there's a solution for everything outside death." Cosmos said.

"I think your wrong. I think your telling yourself that because you can't live with the guilt. That's why you pace around the castle at night. Isn't it." I said.

Cosmos starred me down with a deep look on his face"

"Why are you saying all this." Cosmos said

The other night I was thinking about what it would be like to be a king. To have power, change the way ponies see and do things. The respect you earn from everyone else. To be the pony everyone wants to invite I thought that would be a nice change. But then I remembered when you and I were in the library together. I don't want to be rude but if I were you I would of killed all of those gang members. That way the Militia wouldn't of been a thing, good ponies wouldn't of died. You can't change those types of ponies they are who they are. Your job is to protect your ponies. Well they chose who to be and were no longer your ponies. And even if they were still your ponies you shouldn't save them just so you don't have to get your hooves dirty. Because even though it mightn't say it in the contract it's your job to get your hands dirty." I said.

Slowly Cosmos stood up tall. I didn't move only glared at him still laying on my back.

"I like you kid your smart. You see what not even my real kids could see. But don't think your talking about a subject you know anything on, just because you live in this world." Cosmos said sitting back down.

A few hours later.

"It'll be fine try it" Cosmos said.

"Hey if you were to fall at least you would have magic to help you." I said looking up the giant tree.

"And if you fall ill use my magic to help you." Cosmos said.

"...good point" I said.

So basically me and Cosmos were doing a dare or dare since we ran out of other things to do and now I have to climb one of the biggest trees I've seen ever. Climbing ropes and polls for me was something I could easily do but climbing a tree with hooves. That was something else entirely.

"gah this is painful" I said reaching the first branch.

"your fine Cosmos said."

2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th just don't look down was all I kept saying.

"your doing great" Cosmos called.

"screw you" I shouted back.

6th, 7th 8th. "Holly shit I did it".

I took a look from over tree tops. It was beautiful, Green trees, vines, vast mountains in the distance and this was all from the top of the hill. "so this is what feels like to be an Assassin" I said.

"you can come down now" Cosmos called.

My massive smile was wiped off when I looked down. "NO!" I shouted.

"well how else are you going to get down?" Cosmos said. "I wont ill start an entirely new colony of Ponies from up here in the trees" I said.

"C'mon climb back down" Cosmos said.

"it's tall" I said.

"C'mon" I'm hungry we gotta start dinner." I let out a little whimper then everything turned dark. I looked around the canopy's some more admiring its beauty in the night.

"...huh" I said.

"I'm not going to get you" Cosmos called.

"Shh!" I said. I leaned in closer, it was faint but I swear I could hear calls for help.

"Someones calling for help" I said.

"what?" Cosmos said.

"someones calling for help." I said

"help!" This time I heard it better it was getting closer.

"I heard it. OK I'm getting you" once again I was teleported out of the tree and onto my hooves. With Cosmos magic he turned out the fire and rendered us invisible.

"Stay near me" he said passing me my Katana.

We went on carefully threw forest sliding down mountains and hiding behind trees every so often.

"oh my god" I said covering my mouth

"wait" was all Cosmos said. There was a small clearing and a cliff with a ponies back legs torn off. There was blood everywhere smeared across the ground like he had been dragged here. The pony was male, brown with blue and white hair.

"please" The pony said but not looking in the direction of Cosmos.

Cosmos lowered the invisible spell he had on him walking towards him

"shh, there, there your gonna be ok" BOOM! I almost screamed. Cosmos looked above him in fear. I took a step back. It was the dragon. It took a step towards them. Cosmos didn't move. How did we not see it, it was giant. The dragon lowered its head, the moonlight reflected off its scales revealing the red in its eyes. Moving into Cosmos only inches away. Cosmos shook in fear, his lip begun to quiver. The other pony bleed out his eyes looking still at the sky. The dragon let out a huff of smoke from nostrils surrounding Cosmos. I didn't know what to do but Cosmos gave me his answer.

"RUN!" Cosmos shouted.

Without hesitation I ran the other way kicking up dust and leaves. The dragon grabbed Cosmos with his claws squeezing him tightly.  I only got about 3 bounds before my leg got caught in a trap. A rope tightened around my leg and strung me up above the ground making me lose grip of my Katana. "Oh shit, oh shit" I repeated tears of fear leaking from my eyes. Trying to reach for my Katana. I looked helplessly at Cosmos still in the dragons bind. The dragon held Cosmos above his head. Cosmos couldn't teleport. A unicorn needs a certain amount of space to use that spell, he couldn't do anything.

"You think that if you kill me you've won! You'll never find where we live. Equestria will never be defeated. You won't hear the pleasure of me begging." Cosmos said.

The dragon opened his mouth wide open a bright light coming from the dragons mouth. And just like that the dragon puffed up his chest... and... scorched him alive. The fire went high above the tree tops leaving a cloud of smoke. The dragons claws were glowing bright red like heated up metal. I almost screamed but refrained myself from so. Cosmos body was held limp in the dragons clutches, completley burnt and black. The only thing recognizable was his size.

I couldn't take it I needed to get out of here now!. I tried to reach for the Katana trying to shift my weight to grab it, moving up and down but I couldn't reach it. I was mere inches away. The dragon took Cosmos body and threw him off the cliff edge. I kept trying and trying but I made more noise then I should of. The dragons ears perked up, his head turning my way. I

froze with fear. It knelt down moving forwards. Each step with less impact than the last. The dragon was nose to nose, brushing up against me. The dragons claw lean't on the tree moving it downwards letting me grab my weapon.

"HAHAHAAA" The dragon laughed in a deep voice. "Just because you are invisible doesn't mean I can't see your sword" The dragon laughed. My eyes were glued onto the dragon not able to move, fear running threw me as fast as lighting.

"This is the end for you" The dragon said. He opened his mouth revealing the fire in his throat.

I yelled swinging the Katana into his right eye. The dragon roared in pain jerking backwards swinging me around from the sword, breaking the trap. "AAHHHHHHHHhhh" I screamed as the dragon threw me off me landing in the dirt. The dragon flew up into

the air holding his eye letting out a giant roar with fire and flying off. I didn't hesitate. I picked myself up and my weapon running off into the forest.
