Tyler isn't… unhappy, but he's not particularly happy with my life as it is. Or more to the point he doesn't like the reality he's in. Day in and day out Tyler's is a waste, his life has no greater purpose. No goals to work towards, no future events written on the calendar, not even someone special to hold hands with.

Tyler wants to be more but he's given up and fled to the endless abyss of his imagination. Tyler once tried to be a good person, do the right things, try and help others but the world keeps pushing him back down so now Tyler doesn't do anything besides imagine what his life could be like if he was in a relationship with Pinkie Pie.

OK yeah he know's it's unorthodox but why would he care what everyone else thinks when the very same world pushed him down to begin with?

But one day… after years of dreams and wishes Tyler goes to… Equestria? Not the child, dream like Equestria, but a grim, dark, brutal, savage, Equestria. Tyler didn't go to the modern Equestria but 1000 years prior to that Equestria. What really went on then? Equestria isn't so dream like as you may think. It to has it own set of rules and physics just like any other universe.

The only question left is why does Tyler have the appearance of King Sombra.
