Chapter 1: Traveling to Pearl Harbor
Hawaii, Oahu: Pearl Harbor, November 23rd, 1:10P.M. Ford Island Naval & Air base. 14 days before the attack on Pearl Harbor. There were 4 pilots on the ground at their Warhawk planes and they were having a chat with eachother.
"I'd tell you guys, I miss the action back in Europe with the RAF.", said Tom. (RAF: Royal Air Force. The RAF was Britains Air Force.) Tom was in the 71st Eagle Squadron stationed throughout the RAF and the USAAF in Europe and the Pacific Ocean. (USAAF: United States Army Air Forces. Later changed to USAF in mid-1947.) He was the pilot in the squadron who was the defensive pilot and he was the top 2 in the squad. He was from Virginia and wanted to sign up in the Air Force in late 1939 when World War 2 began.
"Oh please Tom, me, Joe, and the captain like it here anyways.", Frank pointed out to Tom. Frank was a hardcore Air Force pilot and was always ready for action. He was from Indiana and was always pumped for anything.
"I do like it here, but I do miss the action with the other guys in Europe.", Joe told both of them. He was from Mississippi and grew up as a country boy. He is a mechanic on planes and does a little piloting in Europe with his squadron.
"You boys sure want to fly don't you?", Captain Alex Stone said to his entire crew. He was from Texas and is the squad leader of the four of them and has won major battles in Europe with his boys in the RAF. The other pilots from the RAF called them yanks. (Yanks: American servicemen who helped out in Europe before the U.S. fell in to WWII and fought along with the British and the French.) Some Americans were worried Hitler the german dictator and the leader of the Nazis might go and knock on America's doorstep. That's what happened that formed the yanks from America.
"What are you pilots talking about?", said a figure approaching them.
"Guys the Lieutenants are here!", said the captain. The Lietenants were First Lt.Callaham and Second Lt.Crowe. As they approached the squadron gave both of them a salute to them They were the best pilots in the USAAF in the pacific.
"At ease men. Me and Crowe were wondering what you four knuckleheads were talking about.", said first Lietenant Callaham.
"Don't worry, Joe and Tom feel like that they miss the action in Europe with the RAF.", said the captain.
"Both of us know that you boys want the action, but remember President Roosevelt's orders. You were pulled from Europe to teach the new guys how to fly their own birds here at Ford island. Even MacArthur and President Roosevelt asked Prime Misister Winston Churchill of England to have you stationed here at Pearl Harbor. The president says that we should be prepared in case if we go out of neutralality during this war. Anyways see you later eagles. Also don't forget to welcome our 'Special Guests' with the president and MacArthur.", Lt.Crowe said. Both of the Lietenant's went back to their stations and then the eagle squadron went to help the new recruits.
"Well let's teach these new boys how to fly guys!, said the captain. Later the day went on normally in peaceful Hawaii.
It was a peaceful day in equestria. But the Princess's had a special task for the mane six. Celestia had some 'arrangements with an old friend of hers when she was younger. The mane six were in her castle. All of them were there and Twilight is a princess at this time. The princess said they need to know a lesson on leadership and bravery that is something that they haven't encountered. The princess's made a portal which they go into the other universe and explore it. The special thing is that the portal stops time when the mane six go through the portal so the time in Equestria stops and everything is solid. When they get back everything is back to normal.
"I'm glad that you ponies made it here.", Celestia said to the mane six.
"So we have to go through that princess?", Twilight said.
"Yes and you must go for this lesson. My friend doesn't have all day, he's waiting where you ponies will arrive."
"Okay we'll go now come every pony."
"But first let me do this."
The princess had a red light on her horn and aimed it at the ponies and cancelled something of them.
"You ponies cannot use the elements of harmony or use magic in this other world due to that they might be used for power."
"O.K. princess were leaving now." The mane six had entered the portal and then time in Equestria had stopped and everything froze.
Meanwhile at Wheeler Army Air Field, Oahu: 1:29P.M.
"Where are they Mr.President? They should be here by now, it's almost 1:30. They said near 1:30 not after!", said THE only Generak MacArthur. He is also code-named: CINCPAC, (Commander In Chief Pacific Command.)
"I know that they will be here, my friend Celestia knows that they will come. I just know it that they will appear any second now.", said President Roosevelt in his wheelchair. (Yes he has a wheelchair. Since he had a stroke from polio he has an infinite paralysis in his legs. He can stand up but he needs a device for his leg to stand straight.)
"I told every U.S. pilot, sailor, captain, and everyone else here about their 'species'. I told them that they will never speak of this ever to anyone. This is a very big secret Mr.President.
"Yes it is a big secret. Here they come now." After U.S. president Roosevelt said that a portal appeared on the air field and everyone knew what was happening. They were in a group at the runway. (Yes when MacArthur told everyone, he told EVERYONE in the U.S. navy, army, and Air Force. Even Pime Minister Churchill knows about this.) After the light went away the mane six were in front of the president!
"Welcome all six of you to Oahu!" The mane six know who was in front of them. Celestia told them about Roosevelt and showed a picture of him in office. They saw MacArthur and Lieutenant's Callahm and Crowe with the pilots of the 71st Eagle Squadron division.
"Are you President Roosevelt of America?", said Twilight.
"Yes I am, and you are Ms. who?", said Roosevelt.
"I am Twilight Sparkle and these are my friends: 1. Applejack,2. RainbowDash, 3. Pinkie Pie, 4. Rarity, and 5. FlutterShy.
"Well nice to meet all of you! Here are some of the important people in America. To my right is General MacArthur, Code-Named CINCPAC. He's in command of all of our navy warships. To my left are Lieutenants Callaham and Crowe the top ace pilots in our Air Force. With them are the four pilots of the 71st Eagle Squadron. We have a base that's not to far from here that I would like to show you all. We'll go
to the base at Ford Island.
"And how do you suppose to get there?!", said RainbowDash.
"Well this big bird of course you ponies!", Frank showed the mane six.
"You call that a bird?! That's a darn machine!", Applejack asked Frank.
"This a machine that is used for warfare and that we can send troops, supplies, and other needs. This is a Skytrain that is a plane with no weapons and can be used for needs like Frank told you ponies.", Captain Stone told the ponies.
"Do you want to get to the base fast and quickly by aircraft or long and slow with a truck. Your choice.", MacArthur said.
"We'll go with fast and quick!, Pinkie said.
"We lets go. You two come over here!", Roosevelt told two other pilots on the runway.
"Sir yes sir Mr.President, what are your orders sir?!", the pilot said.
"We need to go to Ford Island and before we land circle around the harbor so our guests can see our naval base."
"Understood sir we'll fly for all of you."
"Feel anyway you feel like siting at!", said Lt.Callaham.
They all got in the Skytrain and and were on the way to Ford Island. They flew over the valleys and orchards on the island and passed the mountain. "So this is how you guys go in the air without wings?", said Rainbowdash.
"We don't need wings on our bodies to fly because there are aircraft which are mechanical machines that we can fly in the air and engage enemies on land, sea, or others in the air that are enemies to us. We can fly aircraft but they run on fuel and if your out of fuel you crash and die, unless if you jump out with a parachute on you. There are 5 different types of planes in our Air Force:
Fighters
Dive-Bombers
Torpedo-Bombers
High- Level Bombers
Sea-Planes.", said Captain Stone.
"We know all of your names but who are you Eagle Squadron?", asked Twilight.
"Well I'm Captain Alex Stone, this is Tom, Frank, and Joe they are my squadmates in the air with me."
"Nice to meet all of you darlings!", said Rarity.
"Are you sure you won't harm us?", asked fluttershy.
"Don't worry. We're one of the super powers in the world. We are a nation of the people of the country and we ways do the right thing that's foreign or domestic policies for us. We protect people who are allies with us and we have full equal rights to every citizens and they have rights that cannot be taken away and every citizen has the same rights in our democracy no matter your family, religious beliefs, or anything else.", said the president.
"Alright look to the right of the plane everyone we're here: Pearl Harbor.", said the pilot.
The mane six were shocked at what they saw. They saw a humongous fleet of ships in the harbor! They saw a humongous fleet of ships at Pearl Harbor. They also saw fighters, bombers, and sea-planes at both Hickam airfield next to the harbor. They also saw the same planes at Ford Island at the heart of the harbor.
"We're about to land sir!", said the Co-Pilot.
"Alright!", said the president.
The Skytrain landed and then all of them got out of the plane.
"We're here everyone, welcome to Ford Island Air and Naval Base!", said Lieutenant Crowe.
The war that's determined by sea, air, and heroic actions in the Pacific
Chapter 3: Tora! Tora! Tora!
(Note: This is based on real events!)
It was 7:05 A.M., Sunday morning. It was Sunday which most of the servicemen at Pearl are sleeping in. Opana mobile radar station 30 miles from Pearl Harbor, radar operator Joe Lockard makes first contact. "What's this?", said Joe. (Radar was still a experimental technology in 1941. It's importance was about to be realized. The radar systems was first used by the RAF in Britian due to the continuous night bombardments from the Germans with their bombers releasing bombs on British cities, airfields, and other military facilities and targets. Radar today tracks planes and passengers all over the world every year.) "Im getting the warning division."
"Suit yourself, after this lets go eat, it's after 7:00 A.M.!, said Private Elliott with him.
Back at Pearl Harbor HQ...
(Rings of a telephone in the building.) "Operator go ahead.", said Private Joseph McDonald of the 580th airborne warning division.
"Look I don't know, everyone's off shift here's Lieutenant Tyler."
"Lieutenant Tyler.", said the Lieutenant.
"Sir, this is Private Elliott with Joe at Opana point sir."
"Go ahead Private. What is it?"
"There's a large formation of planes coming in from the North at 140 miles, three degrees east."
"Yeah? Well, don't worry about it. Those boys at Opana Point must have picked the flight of B-17's coming in from the mainland."
Back at Opana Point...
"Lieutenant Tyler said don't worry about it.", Elliott said to Joe.
"Come on, let's go eat Elliott."
Joe sended a telegram to Pearl Harbor HQ about the formation of planes and they had shut down the mobile radar station.
7:45 A.M. Oahu Point.
"Well Crowe we will raise the flag when the Captains of the West Virginia and Tennessee arrive. And the band will start playing. This is going well isn't it?", Lt.Callaham said.
"Yes it is. To bad Charlie isn't here or Sierra. She is visiting her family in San Diego, California. I love her."
"I know how much you miss your girlfriend, but don't worry! Besides she'll be back before you know it."
"Yeah, your right. I see the captains in their boat coming towards us. Get ready!"
Back at Ford Island...
The ponies just woke up and saw some unknown planes in the sky above the harbor.
"I see planes but why are they not landing?", Twilight asked the Eagles who were at the Cafeteria.
"Maybe some kind of top secret exercise that HQ is doing Twilight.", said Captain Stone as he was finishing his meal.
"Maybe, but why are they circling around much?", Frank said.
The captains arrived where Crowe and Callaham were and started a salute. A sailor raised the flag and the trumpet player played a military call when the flag was being raised. After that the Star-Spangled-Banner was being played by the Nevada's crew.
While the band was being raised 2 planes went in low and we're heading towards the USS Oaklahoma. One of the planes launched a bomb at the main turret no.2 and exploded at the hull!
The band was playing as a plane flew right over both of the Lieutenant's heads.
"Get that guy's number, dick (the pilot). I'll report to him for safety violations.", Lt.Callaham said to Crowe.
(Bomb whistling) Bomb whistle: When a bomb from a plane is dropped the bomb makes a noise as it falls from the sky.
Booomm!!!
"What the hell is going on Crowe?"
"I don't know Callamam!"
(Bombs whistling and multiple explosions)
"Come on Crowe!"
Both of the Lieutenant's went to the HQ which was right behind them and went to the front desk.
"Put this on the alarm private!", Callaham said to the Private at the front desk and wrote this out: Air raid Pearl Harbor, this is no drill!
"Aye sir I'll put this on the alarm quickly!", the private said to both of the Lieutenant's.
"Let's get to Wheller airfield Crowe! Let's see if we can get our birds in the air!", Callaham said.
Next the alarm went off and the speaker said this on the microphone: Air raid on Pearl Harbor! The empire of the rising sun's (The empire of Japan) symbol has been seen on the enemy's wings. This is not a drill!
Everyone heard that message and began to defend themselves on land and on ships.
"An air raid and we're being attacked!", Joe said to the whole group in the cafeteria.
Captain Stone got up from the table and went to the cafeteria line. "Hey boys, I just got word that Pearl Harbor is being attacked! Get to your planes! Let's go, let's go!", the Captain told all the fly boys in the cafeteria.
The battleship's in Battleship Row were sitting ducks. They were perfect targets. The Arizona took a torpedo and the Captain radioed the crew of the Arizona: Battlestations everyone! Battlestations!" The crew went to their AA guns (Anti-Aircraft) and tried to shoot down the enemy planes. They were also trying to put out fires on the bow of the ship and all other U.S. battleships were preparing to defend themselves.
The USS California wasn't doing so well. The ship had took a torpedo and had a flooding from the hull. The Nevada was also having a hard time to defend themselves as a dive bomber approached and released it's payload of a 550 LBS (250 KG) bomb on the main deck.
(Booommm)
"HELL! Huge explosion on the USS Nevada! Critical hit on the Nevada's port bow. Huge hole! We're trying to beach the ship!"
Pearl Harbor HQ...
"Warn the airfields.", the Sargent said to the phone operator.
"I'm trying sir, but all of the phone lines are jammed."
"Well try the radio again!"
Ford Island and Hickam air fields aren't very lucky since they had the planes parked up in lines on the ground. They were parked like that since due to a ground attack but they were perfect targets from the air.
"Get some birds up and running! Come on let's go!", Captain Stone told the entire group at Ford.
"Sir both of the Lieutenants are asking you and your squad to get to Wheeler airfield and get some planes there! He said immediately now!", a private from the marine 349th group told Captain Stone and his squad.
"You ponies shouldn't be out here, it's a war zone! Get to the control tower and stay with the staff there! Go now before you get yourselves killed out here!", Captain Stone told the mane six. They then went to the control tower and were with the staff and saw the entire battle.
Hickam was under attack and Ford Island's planes were all damaged or destroyed on the ground. Hickam had some men at machine and Anti-Aircraft guns aiming at the attackers.
"Two planes shot down!", a marine said over the radio.
"This the USS Ward an enemy midget sub had reported at the harbor enterance earlier this morning. The shots we've fired at it missed but we got it with depth charges."
"Ward this is Pearl Harbor HQ, we've got another one in the harbor!"
"USS Mohghan is approaching it at ramming speed!"
"This is the Ward, permission to help you out Mohghan?"
"USS Ward permission granted."
"This is the Mohghan we have the sub in our sights! Ramming it now!
The Monghan rammed the midget submarine and then released two depth charges.
"HQ this is the Mohghan we've dealt with the sub and is going down!"
"Good work Mohghan! Now help rescue survivors from the battleships!"
"Yes sir we're on it!"
The White House
A messenger from the U.S. Congress gave President Roosevelt a letter about the attack. Roosevelt read it and papers fell out of his hand. "How bad is it?", Roosevelt said in his wheelchair with his bodyguard pushing him.
"It's not over yet sir.", the messenger said.
"The entire fleet there. My god, my god."
Hickam airfield was under heavy fire. The men at Hickam were trying to get planes in the air but they either get shot down or crash and explode with others. And crews were trying to put out the fires coming from the planes. The flight of B-17 bombers arrived and landed at any nearby airfields on Oahu. Also the SBD Dauntless dive bombers from the U.S. carriers landed and the pilots helped out the other men at Hickam. 3 were shot down by the Japanese 'Zero' fighters. And 1 got shot down by friendly AA fire.
The first wave ended but a second wave was arriving.
Back at Pearl Harbor HQ...
The top leaders at Pearl Harbor were at the general's office looking out the window. The HQ was far away from the battle and wasn't damaged.
"Give me a status report Captain.", the general said. (It's not MacArthur since he's in the Philippines.)
"1. Oklahoma - Capsized. ( Capsized: When a ship is turned over by water and sinks.)
2. Nevada has taken a torpedo forward and is down by the head.
3. West Virginia - Subjected to at least 6 torpedo hits and several deck fires.
4. Cruisers - Raleigh and Helena are damaged and listing.", the captain said to the General. (Listing: When a ship is leaning to one side and if the ship continues to list then it will tip over.)
"And the California, two torpedo hits and fires all around. Recently abondened. I just came from that ship.", said Captain John Tyler of the USS California.
The second wave appeared and more bombers had arrived than the first wave.
Japanese dive bombers were targeting the USS Arizona and began to release their payload.
(Bomb whistles)
(Massive explosions)
The Arizona exploded with multiple explosions and fires were all over the ship's deck. After the Arizona exploded the destroyer USS Shaw erupted in a massive fireball in the drydocks. Fires that were earlier on the ship reached the magazine filled with explosives and ammunition. There were massive fires all over the drydocks and the battleship USS Pennsylvania caught fire from the Shaw's explosion.
Wheeler airfield...
"Need more ammo over here! More ammo!", the Sargent at Wheeler airfield said to the troops unloading supplies.
"Crowe and Callaham! We came here as quickly as we can!", Captain Stone said to both of them.
"Well that's nice Captain Stone, but were busy he-!", Lieutenant Callaham said to the Eagle Squadron and was interrupted by planes flying over the airfield. The planes passed over but the pilots didnt released their payloads.
"Hey guys you got the guns yet!?", Lt. Crowe asked the marines who were gathering guns and ammo.
"Lieutenant we're all set!", the Sargent said.
"Come on guys lets get to the planes let's go, let's go!", Lieutenant Crowe said to every pilot and marine. The Lieutenant's had their planes with the famous shark mouth that they had as their nose paint on the front of the engine. The Eagles had Warhawks like the Lieutenant's had but they didn't had the shark mouth nose paint.
"Me and Callaham will take off first wait until we take off!", Crowe said to the Eagles.
Lieutenant's Crowe and Callaham were taking off but chose a different route. They took off the grass rather than the runway which suprised the Japanese pilots. The Lieutenant's were almost airborne and were worried.
"Crowe when we take off I'll go right and you'll go left got it?"
"Got it Callaham just don't freeze!"
"NOW!"
Both of the Lieutenant's were airborne and had gone their ways so the fighters wouldn't shoot the Eagles down.
"Eagle Squadron this is Lieutenant Callaham take off now we've distracted the fighters!"
"This is Captain Stone roger that!"
The Lieutenant's were flying to Pearl Harbor and were being chased by fighters.
"Crowe I've got 3 bandits on me!", Callaham said to Crowe from the radio.
"Same with me Callaham! Hey Callaham how about we play 'chicken' with these japs.
"Okay I like your idea I'll go to my left, you go to your left alright?"
"Got it don't let go!"
"NOW CROWE LEFT!"
The Lieutenant's went to their left's and the six fighters all crashed with each other and fell to the ground.
"Nice going Crowe! We did it!"
"Yeah thanks Callaham!"
"This is Captain Stone of the 71st Eagle Squadron permission to form up with you two?"
"This is Lt.Callaham you have permission to form up with us. Joe and frank go to the far right alongside me. Also Tom and Frank go alongside Crowe to the left. We're going in towards Hickam be ready boys!"
"Japanese planes at 11 O'clock Lieutenants!", Frank said to both of the Lieutenant's.
"Fire at will everyone!", Callahman said to all the pilots.
The Japanese pilots were suprised that the American pilots were in the air. Crowe shot down two bombers and the Eagles shot down 3 aircraft over battleship row. "Way to go guys!", Crowe said to the squad.
The American's in the water were cheering for them. "Yeah! It's Lieutenant's Callaham and Crowe with the Eagles! There's our boys!", one sailor cheered for them.
The squad of 6 Warhawks shot down more enemy planes that were pulling back from the battle and then they landed at Hickam Airfield. The mane six were at Hickam waiting for the pilots to land. The flag at Hickam was still waving in the air and was shredded by gunfire and was badly ripped. Pearl Harbor lays in ruins.
"Is it over? Is it finally over?", Twight asked Crowe and Callaham
"Yes it is over Twilight, it's over. We know what this means Callaham.", Ceowe said.
"Yes Crowe, this means war with Japan!", said Callaham as he closes his right hand into a fist.
"Lieutenant Crowe sir, the general asked me to send you this its urgent for you.", a Sargent from Hickam handed Crowe a letter.
"Lt.Crowe I'm sorry to say this but you brother Charlie is dead. He was on the USS Arizona and over a thousand men had died in the blast. I am very sorry for this upsetting news about your brother. From, Pearl Harbor HQ", Crowe read the entire letter to the whole group.
Crowe was shocked and the letter fell out of his hands and landed on the ground with debris. Tears fell from his eyes about his brother. "Charlie no."

Chapter 4: The beginning of the Pacific Theater.
December 8th, 1941.
Pearl Harbor layed in ruins. The Japanese succefuly suprised the American fleet at Pearl Harbor and the American population and their allies were shocked to the event. Smoke filled the sky, the USS Oklahoma was capsized, and fires on the airfields and ships in the harbor. The Americans were raising the sunken ships except for one: the USS Arizona. It was already at the bottom and was leaking oil out of it. Over 2,403 men were dead and 1,178 others were injured. This was a day of infamy (The event of total evil that happened). But the American's were lucky. The repair facilities, oil storages, the Headquarters, maintenance facilities, the submarine base, and the torpedo, bomb, and ammunition storages were not targeted. And the most important: the American aircraft carriers were not at Pearl during the attack. Which means the Japanese made a huge mistake to their attack plans. Now the U.S. and other nations alongside it have declared war on Japan. And the allies are now prepared to go to war.
President Roosevelt gave a speech of Pearl Harbor and was heard all around the world. On the same day Great Britian declared war on Japan with the American's. On December 11th, America declared war on the Nazis in Europe. Great Britian now had an ally in the Pacific Ocean and in Europe. But on that day Japan changed the art of war on that day. The Japanese attacked the English battleships the HMS Prince of Whales and the HMS Repulse with level-bomber aircraft. It now proves that naval warfare didn't belong to dreadnought's (Battleships), it belonged to aircraft and aircraft carriers.
December 20th... Lieutenant Crowe and the mane six had orders to go and help the marines and pilots at Wake Island. The island was being harassed by Japanese Cruisers and Destroyers. Crowe's and the mane six's task was to help the general escape the island. On December 23rd Wake Island fell to Japanese hands and the general, Crowe, and the mane six made it to the USS Yorktown as the rendezvous point.
Back at home America became a mighty industrial country. The Great Depression ended and all Americans were called on helping the war. Thousands of men signing up for the military and millions of new jobs had opened. Now they had factories everywhere. They produced every supplies, vehicle, aircraft, ship, and equipment over the charts that the world has never seen before. America was now had an advantage of supplies over the Japanese.
May 1st, 1942. USS Yorktown.
"Sir we intercepted a Japanese message! They plan to invade Australia and other island near it.", the first lieutenant of the Yorktown said.
"I'll warn the Australians. Tell Crowe and Callaham to ready their fighter and attack groups.", Fleet Admiral Nimitez said.
"Yes sir right away!"
"Also were meeting up with an Australian-American Cruiser group in a couple of days just to let you know."
"Alright sir."
May 7th, 1942. The Coral Sea.
On the carriers USS Yorktown and the USS Lexington everyone was preparing their fighter and attack (bombers: Dive and torpedo) planes on the deck. The flagship of the U.S. and Australian cruiser fleet were where the Japanese were but they don't know where the carriers are. So now Lieutenants Callaham and Crowe are leading the attack. The mane six were on the Yorktown's bridge and were with Fleet Admiral Nimitez. "So you all want to see how battle on the ocean is like?", Nimitez said to the ponies.
"Yes and we would like to spectate if that's all right with you.", Twilight said to the Admirl with his uniform on him.
"Your allowed to watch, ask questions, and look around but don't touch any of our equipment for our planes."
"Alright we got it sir.", Applejack replied.
"Lieutenants make sure all CAP (Combat Air Patrol) and bomber groups are airborne and ready to go.", Fleet Admiral Nimitz said Lieutenants that were in their new SBD Dauntless dive-bomber aircraft.
"Yes sir Admiral we're on it!", Crowe said to Nimitez.
"This is Lieutenant Callaham off the Lexington all squadrons sound off!"
(Note: When they say 'group' the squad leader says it. Just in case if your wondering.)
"This Wildcat squadron groups 1-4, we're ready to engage!"
"This is SBD Dauntless groups 5-8, we got some 'presents' (bombs) to deliver to our enemies!"
"This is TBF Avenger groups 9-12, we have our 'fish' (torpedoes) and ready to drop them!"
"We got everyone Callaham. Let's go!", Crowe said to Callaham.
"Follow me men!", Callaham said to every aircraft except for Wildcat squads 1 and 2 for CAP around the carriers defense.
(Combat air patrol is when fighters are scouting the area ahead of allied ships and when they see enemy planes they can shoot them down faster and farther than any ship's AA guns mounted on them.)
"They say our new Avenger torpedo bombers are more effective than our past Devestator aircraft.", the first lieutenant of the Yorktown said.
"They always say thing like that First Lieutenant and let's hope their true about these new aircraft.", Nimitez said.
"This is Lieutenant Callaham we got enemy scout sea-planes incoming. Crowe can you help shoot them down?"
"Yes sir I'm available!"
Enemy 'Pete' sea-planes were closing in on the bomber's formation. Suprisingly all of the Pete's went down in less than two minutes due to their light armor on them.
"Nice work everyone! Now let's go find the Jalanese.", Callaham said.
"Callaham I see the enemy carrier! It has 4 destroyers as an escort.", Crowe said to Callaham.
"Thanks Crowe, now everyone attack the carrier until it dies!", Callaham said to the whole group of aircraft.
The battle waged on and the Japanese carrier the Shoho was sunk by Callaham's and Crowe's squadrons. But the next day was going to be harder. The Japanese were striking back and were attacking the allied fleet.
May 8th, 1942.
"This is the USS Yorktown. We got a huge enemy strike inbound both dive and torpedo bombers heading towards the fleet! We need all planes to refuel and return and protect the carriers!"
"All squads this is Lt.Callaham, everyone return to fleet and help the carriers! Besides our bombers need more payloads so land fast!"
"Alright Callaham me and my fighters at the carriers will engage the enemy.", Crowe said.
"Here they come Lieutenant!", a squad member from Crowe's wing said.
"Enemy dive-bombers incoming!", the Captain of the USS Lexington said.
Japanese dive-bombers released their payloads and hit the Lexington's engine room and the ship became a sitting duck.
"We're hit and our engine power is out! And the deck is on fire everywhere we can't have any planes land on us. And our damage is critical!"
"Evacuate the Lexington captain!", Fleet Admiral Nimitez said while on the USS Yorktown.
The Lexington was badly damaged. Fires were on the flight deck and the ship was a perfect target for enemy planes. The destroyers that were escorting the Lexington helped out with the evacuation and were successful. The Lexington later exploded and was left to sink.
"Well Crowe we lost the Lexington but we better land and help the admiral.", Callaham said.
"Yes Callaham. Goodbye Lexington you were a fine ship, we'll miss you.", Crowe said.
(This is the dialogue after the battle.)
The Japanese plan to control both the Coral Sea and Port Moresby has come to a close. Without our allied code dealers we wouldn't have stopped the Japanese plans. They had a tactical victory but, we had a strategic victory and an allied victory for us. We lost more ships but the Japanese lost more planes. So now the Japanese don't have the air power that they need to invade our Australian allies. We now head to Midway where the Japanese plan to invade the island and we shall stop their tracks there.
The war that's determined by sea, air, and heroic actions in the Pacific
Chapter 5: The Battle of Midway
Midway island is now the most important island to the American's at this point. The Japanese wanted to invade it. Lt.Crowe was now assigned to Midway and he was in charge of all USAAF (United States Army Air Force) squad's at Midway. (A Lieutenant is a higher rank than a Captain in the USAAF)
Dawn June 4th
"All squadrons get airborne now! This is not a drill!", The Midway HQ said on the speakers.
"All squadrons this is Lt.Crowe, defend Midway at all costs. Protect the airfield, oil storages, and anything else important."
This is Wildcat Squadron 5 reporting in. We're right with you as your wingmen Lieutenant."
"Nice to have you boys here! Now follow me everyone!"
American Wildcat and Bufallo fighters were in the air and standing by for Lt.Crowe's orders.
(Bufallo fighters were like the Wildcat fighters but they were smaller and Japanese pilots mistook them as Wildcats.)
"Here they come lock and load boys!", Lt.Crowe said to all of the pilots.
"Look at all of them Leuitenant! There are like a 100 bomber's there, easy targets!
There were Japanese fighters and dive bombers in the sky. They had Kate and Val bombers with a pound bomb on each one of them. And they had 'Zero's' for their fighter escort.
"Alright boys here's how you hunt bombers, you're faster than they are so use that to your advantage. And you're more manueverable to, so don't hang around to long or their gunners will chew you up. And if they have a fighter escort take evasive maneuvers or their escort will send you home in a lunchbox. Got it? Now let's go get us some kills everyone!", The Captain of Wildcat Squadron 7 said.
American and Japanese aircraft were filled in the skies and bullets flied everywhere. The American pilots got easy bomber kills.
"Scratch another one Lieutenant!", one of his wingmen said.
"I just blew that Jap's half end off!", a pilot from the 2nd Buffalo squad.
"He's going down!", a pilot from Wildcat squadron 7 said.
"This is too easy! The Japanese pilots suck at this!", a member of the 8th Buffalo squad replied.
"Watch out Leuitenant there's an unidentified plane on the horizon, it's not one of ours!", another pilot from the 2nd Buffalo squad said.
"Well if it isn't the infamous Leuitenant Crowe, did you think we're going to let you shoot down our bomber squads? We won't let you!", the Japanese ace said.
"Who do you think you are mister?", Crowe said to the ace.
"I'm Kazuya Yamashita, Japanese ace and pilot of the 13th squadron."
"You're the squad that killed my brother at pearl! I'll kill you for this so your friends will get the message!"
"You American scoundrel, you'll not going to survive this!"
"We'll see about that!"
"Sir we'll keep the fighters off of you.", one of his flight men said.
The Japanese ace was flying a J2M7 Raiden, it was nicknamed "Jack" by the allies. The plane was as fast as a wildcat and could carry plane-equipped rockets on them. But they lacked in firepower and armor.
Crowe chased the ace and he was heading towards the airfield. There were TBM Avenger torpedo- bomber and SBD Dauntless scout/dive-bomber were aircraft lined up along the main runways in the right island of the Midway Atoll. He chased the Raiden with his wildcat and passed above the naval yard and went to the airfield where they passed the B-25 medium and B-17 high level bombers taking off the runway. Their mission while the American fighters were defending Midway were to attack the spotted Japanese fleet off Midway. The B-25's were America's newest bomber aircraft that they had. They carried 250 pound bombs and torpedoes as their payload and they had front cannons like fighters did. They had medium sized armor, 2 engines, and decent gun turrets for defense while the B-17 bombers were slow but they had tough armor, great guns on them, 4 powerful engines on thier body, and could carry about 20-30 bombs that were more than the B-25's have but the B-17 doesn't carry torpedoes.
As the pilots zoomed over the airfield Crowe damaged the ace's Raiden but it was still in good shape.
"You're better than I thought but you are ruthless!", the Japanese pilot mocked at Crowe.
Crowe fired his machine guns at the Jap but the bullets missed and he was doing loops.
"Wait if I found his weak spot it must be his engine! I'll go to the clouds and do a surprise attack.", Crowe thought to himself.
Crowe tipped his plane to the clouds and then he disappeared. The Japanese ace didn't know where he went until suddenly he saw Crowe if front of him. Crowe dived down from the clouds, stabilized
his plane and fired his machine guns to the Jap's plane. Crowe shot his engine and his plane's rudder in the back.
"No you American pig, you'll pay for this!", the Jap said to Crowe. His plane was on fire and then exploded in the air and he didn't eject in time.
"That's the beginning of my revenge there Jap.", as Crowe said his last words to ace.
"Crowe this is the Midway naval yard we need your help now!!!"
"Go ahead.", Crowe said
"There's a group of torpedo bombers heading towards the hospital ship which is carrying hundreds of wounded men and very important medical supplies that we can't loose!"
"I'm next to the hospital ship and I see the torpedo bombers heading there now!"
"Hurry they're about to release their payloads!"
Crowe raced towards the five Japanese "Kate" torpedo bombers and went behind them. He then shot down 4 planes and then headed towards the last one. He fired his machine guns at the bomber but it released its payload. Crowe was shocked at the payload that released. The torpedo was heading towards the back of the ship at full speed but something happened.
The torpedo that was heading towards the back of the ship missed the ship by a couple of inches and then exploded when it just hit the shore.
"That was very goddamn lucky Lieutenant, you saved tons of lives today!", the HQ radio operator said to Crowe.
"In my book HQ, skill always beats luck."
"Well you always get that from your cousin in Australia."
"Lieutenant the Jap bombers are retreating!", one of Crowe's wingmen said.
"Nice job everyone! And we took minimal losses to, nice work!"
"Crowe this HQ, CINPAC got the word and he's proud at all of you fly boys!"
June 6th, 1942: Off the coast of Midway.
The Americans had their carrier force ready and planes were ready for takeoff.
"Japanese planes 12 O'Clock! Prepare to take off fighter squadrons now!", Fleet Admiral Nimitez said aboard the USS Enterprise.
"This Lieutenant Crowe Admiral, my fighter squad is up and ready to engage!"
"Nice to see you Lieutenant, now take out those dive-bombers!"
"Affirmative! Engaging now!"
The American Wildcat carrier-based fighters shot the Japanese bombers out of the sky and lost only one plane but the pilot ejected in time.
"All bombers are destroyed sir!", Crowe said to Fleet Admiral Nimitez.
"Nice work Lieutenant, land on the USS Enterprise to refuel and re-arm.
"Affirmative!"
Crowe then went to the Enterprise and landed on its flight deck.
"Crowe we're equipping bombs for your plane right now.", one of the workers said to Crowe.
"Alright and the bombers are ready to take off?"
"They are and they are taking off right now."
"Alright thanks!"
Crowe then took off and responded to the bomber planes.
"This is Lieutenant Crowe all squadrons sound off!"
"This is baker squad, all torpedo bombers are ready to go!"
"This is Charlie squad all dive-bombers are reported in and are ready!"
"Follow me men!"
All of the American planes followed Crowe's Wildcat and we're scouting for any contact.
"Lieutenant have you found any contact?", Nimitez said.
"Negative. Wait new contact, Japanese heavy cruiser!", Crowe said.
"Take it out!", Nimitez said.
Dauntless Dive-Bombers headed towards the Cruiser and sank it with only 2 bombs.
"Cruiser is down sir!", Crowe said.
"Nice job, keep Scouting the area.", Nimitez said.
"Uh sir...!"
"What is it Lieutenant?"
"We've found the enemy fleet!"
"Nice work we found the pride of the Japanese fleet! All airborne units go in for a full scale attack!"
"Affirmative, bombers split from formation and attack the aircraft carriers. We'll deal with the fighters!"
"Affirmative Lieutenant, bomber squads are now attacking."
"This is group 5 we're attacking the Soryu!"
The American dive bombers were heading towards their target while avoiding anti-aircraft guns and flak in the air."
"Approaching target, bombs away!"
The bombs that fell went through the Soryu's flight deck and exploded with fierce force.
"Direct hit! Soryu is sinking."
"This is group 2 with groups 4 and 1 we're attacking the Kaga."
The bombs fell to the ship and exploded in the middle of the Kaga's body.
"Kaga has been sunk!"
"Groups 3 and 6 are engaging the Akagi now."
The bombs went towards the Akagi's magazine and a humoumgus explosion rocked the ship and exploded.
"That's it for the Akagi!"
"We've knocked thier carrier's out nice work! Return to the Enterprise and the Yorktown immediately.", Nimitez said.
"Affirmative Fleet Admiral, let's go home boys we did a great job!", Crowe said.
The next day June 7th
"Scout ahead of the Carrier's screen for enemy activity Lieutenant.", Fleet Admiral Nimitez said while aboard the USS Enterprise.
"The Japanese didn't wait long. Zeroes incoming!", Lieutenant Crowe said while flying his Wildcat fighter.
After a giant dogfight in the air all of the enemy planes were destroyed. (Dogfight: A type of battle against planes that's this: if you attack me, I attack you. Or fighter vs. fighter.)
"Important enemy aircraft are approaching this way. Protect the Carrier's!", Nimitez said.
"Heading towards them now sir!", Crowe said.
"This is the USS Yorktown, Japanese dive-bombers incoming towards the bow of the ship!"
Japanese 'Val' dive-bombers released their payloads and the Yorktown had an explosion.
"We've took a hit. The flight deck is on fire and we have casualties aboard."
"Can you return to Midway for repairs?", Nimitez said over the radio.
"We can but it will take a while sir."
"Alright put out the fire on the flight deck and retreat to Midway when the bombers are gone."
"Sir all bombers have been destroyed!", Crowe said.
"Affirmative the Yorktown and a destroyer are heading back towards Midway but we still have enough aircraft to attack. Head toward north of the carriers screen. The bomber squadrons will follow you.",
Nimitez said.
5 minutes later.
"Sir we have found an enemy 'flat-top'.", Crowe said. (Nickname for an Aircraft-Carrier)
"We have finally found the Hiryu! Attack it now!"
"Affirmative approaching target.!"
"Bombs away Lieutenant!", One of the bomber leaders said.
The bombs went through the Hiryu's flight deck and exploded inside the ship. The carrier was destroyed and fires were everywhere on the ship.
"Sir the enemy flat-top has been sunk!", Crowe said.
"Nice job return to base right now.", Nimitez said.
"Affirmative. Admiral it's June 7th and do you know what think has happened during this entire battle for Midway?"
"What is it Lieutenant?"
"It's been six months and I think Pearl Harbor has been avenged by us."
The Battle of Midway was a fierce fought battle. The Americans thought that they were going to loose this battle but they had luck with them. Their pilots did a strenuous job for defending Midway against the Japanese. The American dive-bombers sunk the 4 Japanese carriers that were in this battle. This battle has now turned the war in the Pacific to the Allies.
Casualties:
Americans:
1 Carrier sunk (USS Yorktown when retreating to Midway was sunk by dive and torpedo bombers.)
1 Destroyer sunk (That was escorting the USS Yorktown)
150 Aircraft destroyed
307 killed
Japanese:
4 Aircraft-Carriers
1 Heavy Cruiser sunk
1 Heavy Cruiser damaged
248 Aircraft destroyed.
3,057 killed

Chapter 6: The Battle of the Eastern Solomons
At Midway we stopped the Japanese in their tracks by sinking four of their carriers. The blow stunned them and gave us the chance to penetrate deep into areas under their control. We landed on Guadalcanal and Tulagi and have transferred fighter and bomber aircraft to the bases there to protect our supply lines. But already the Japanese navy plans to strike back. Admiral Nagumo and his carriers are moving south, towards us. The forthcoming battle wi be a major test of our navy's air power.
Aboard the USS Enterprise's flight deck. August 24th, 1942.
The fleet that had the USS Saratoga and the USS Enterprise was in the Eastern Solomons and each carrier had four destroyers as their escort. The Saratoga was a Lexington class carrier while the Enterprise was a Yorktown class carrier and each of their high speed was 20 knots.
"Hey Crowe I'm back!", A familiar voice said.
"Ah Calaham nice to see you.", as they shook hands. (Note: Crowe has a girlfriend and Callaham is married.) "Wait where were you and Eagle Squadron at Midway?"
"Oh yeah I forgot to tell you about that. I was in an important conference in D.C. with CINCPAC, the President, and our Air Force officers. And the Eagle's are at Guadalcanal giving the marine's air support."
"Alright, I wonder how the Eagle's are doing right now."
(Meanwhile at Guadalcanal)
The Eagle's were flying their SBD Dauntless's that carried 2 100 pound bombs and a 1000pound bomb. They flew to Quadacanal and over the American fleet.
"You're sure they want us to do this Captain?"
"Affirmative Joe even Admiral Nimiz said so.", Captain Stone of the 71st eagle squadron said.
"I'll have fun blowing shit up!"
"Easy there Frank, one wrong move and you'll miss your target or the Jap's will knock you out of the sky.", Tom said.
"Tom's right there Frank, you only have only one 1,000 pound bomb and two spare 100 pound bombs. So use it wisely."
"Captain's right there Frank.", Joe said.
"Well we have machine guns as well if we run out of bombs.", Frank said.
"Yeah but not that effective against heavily armored buildings.", Tom said.
"The beach is in front of us and the Marine's are landing, get ready!", Captain Stone said.
"Here we go boys!", Tom said.
"Split formation and find your own targets!"
"Affirmative Captain, engaging the enemy!", Joe said.
U.S. marines unloaded from the landingcraft on the beach and ran to the jungles while dodging gunfire and artillery while the Eagle's flew over them.
(Back at the Enterprise)
"Hopefully they'll have their fun Calaham."
"Yeah Crowe we're going to take that island no matter what. It's one of the most important islands in this area."
"Lieutenant's you have orders to get your squads airborne for scouting." The first Lieutenant on the Enterprise said as he exited out and went onto the flight deck towards them.
"Affiramative I'll get my squad airborne now!", Lt. Crowe said as he jumped into his Wildcat fighter.
The mane six were at the Engerprise's bridge and were with the Captain of the Enterprise and Fleet Admiral Nimitz.
"Why should you have an escort with your carrier? To me it should be fine without an escort.", Rainbow Dash said.
"If an aircraft carrier is by itself it's a perfect target and a sitting duck!", Admiral Nimitz said.
"This Lt.Crowe, me and Wildcat squadron are airborne and are awaiting instructions sir."
"Patrol the Carriers screen and maintain combat air patrol", Nimitz said.
"This is FOX to KING what is your status over?", the captain of the USS Saratoga said.
(FOX is the USS Saratoga and KING is the USS Enterprise)
"This is KING we have fighters up for combat air and patrol and everything is fine here.", the Captain of the USS Enterprise said.
"Alright then, we're wondering because it's quiet."
"Too quiet FOX."
The first Lieutenant took out a pair of binoculars and looked to the Enterprise's right.
"Enemy 'Val's' inbound sir!", the first Lieutenant said to Admiral Nimitz.
"This is Lieutenant Crowe and Wildcat squadron we're ready to engage enemy bombers!"
"Give them a warm welcome Crowe and Wildcat squadron!" Admiral Nimitz said.
"We'll give them a warming that they'll never forget!"
"Sir the bombers are closing fast!", the first Lieutenant said on the Enterprise's bridge.
The dive bombers were quickly approaching the Enterprise and they dived their noses down.
"GET DOWN INCOMING!!!!!", a crew member on the Enterprise's bridge shouted out to everyone.
The 'Val's' released their payloads and everyone heard a loud whistle in the air. The next thing that happened was a massive explosion.
(Boooooom!!!!!!)
The explosion rocked the Enterprise and ended in several crew members were wounded and dead with the flight deck on fire and the rudder blocked.
"Dammit!", the first Lieutenant said on the bridge.
Admiral Nimitz then went to the radio and spoke.
"KING leader's flight deck has been penetrated. We've got emergency fire fighters in place but we're listing. All deck operations are on hold while we clean it up. Fighters, stay on top of the enemy. (Listing: When a ship tips to one of its side.)
"Roger that. We'll sweep the skies clean of Japanese planes.", Lt.Crowe said.
"Incoming to the south lieutenant!"
"I read you Alex!"
Meanwhile back on the Enterprise
"FOX to KING are you guys hurt?", the Saratoga radioed in.
"KING has multiple wounds.", Nimitz said over the radio.
"Are you able to continue?"
"Carry on as normal FOX. We don't need backup."
"Hmm. That was a lucky shot. Our rudder's out. We've lost directional control sir.", the first lieutenant said.
"That's a big problem son.", Nimitz said.
"Check your course Enterprise. You nearly hit us.", the captain of the USS Balch said.
"We've taken a hit to the rudder. Steering room's blocked by debris. We're working our way through it. The fires are out but we're still tackling the listing.", Nimitz said to the whole fleet and aircraft.
"Got that, scouts to continue waiting.", the squad leader of the scout group said.
"Well they hit us hard that's for sure. The rudder's jammed. We've got to circle.", Nimitz said to the fleet.
"CAP, lend assistance to KING.", the Saratoga radioed in. (CAP: Short for combat air patrol.)
"Roger that sir. Looking for incoming bandits." Crowe said as he just shot down a Japanese 'Oscar' down.
"Enterprise this is SBD squad #1 we're on the way back. Request landing slots.
"No can do SBD squad #1. Landing is unsafe at this time. Stand by for status reports.", Nimitz said.
"Got that Big E. We'll join the CAP and await further orders."
"Our steering is still out. We're turning to broadside!", Nimitz said.
"USS Balch leaving position for safety. Enterprise's course is just too unpredictable."
"Rudder's repaired and serviceable sir. We have directional control.", the first lieutenant on the Enterprise's bridge said.
"Nothing keeps the Enterprise down for long.", Nimitz said.
"Sir the Japanese planes are repelling sir. We've got them on the run!", Crowe said.
"Nice work you fly boys. Prepare to land on KING.", Nimitz said to Crowe.
"Affirmative sir!"
"FOX, everything is control on Enterprise. Prepare to launch attack plane squadrons.", Nimitz said.
"This is FOX we're launching squads now."
"Uhuh, we're ready to go everyone!", Calaham said as his squad took off in their SBD Dauntless's.
"Copy that Calaham.", Nimitz said.
"Has anybody seen our top cover? We'd kinda like to have some little friends to protect us."
"Bombers this is your escort. We're in your six, catching up right now.", Crowe said to Calaham.
"Well Crowe, that's what we want to hear."
"Incoming bandits to the East and West!", Crowe said.
"Keep them off of us Crowe!"
Meanwhile onboard the Enterprise's bridge.
"Sir, USS Wasp had radioed. They're refuels and are heading towards us at flank speed.", the lieutenant said to the admiral.
"The battle will be long over before they arrive. They should have stayed with us in the first place."
After a long and easy fight against Japanese 'Oscar' fighters the American dive-bombers and torpedo-bombers reached their destination.
"Enterprise this is Calaham we haven't found the Japanese carrier yet."
"Copy that. The carrier has to be here somewhere though.", Nimitz said.
"Wow. Would you look at that!", Crowe said.
"What is the situation Crowe?", Nimitz said.
"Sir, a Japanese supply convoy has strayedright in the middle of the battle!"
"Well we can't pass an opportunity like that. Attack planes - knock out those ships."
"Copy that sir. Commencing runs on the Japanese transports, sir.", Callaham said.
The small convoy had 3 transport ships and a destroyer for an escort.
The Japanese ships were:
AK: Boston Maru
AK: Kinryu Maru
AK: Daifuku Maru
DD: Tokitsukaze
"Commencing attack on Japanese destroyer.", Callaham said.
Callaham's squad dove towards the destroyer and they released their payloads on it. Then the ship began to sink.
"Destroyer out of commission sir!", a pilot from Callaham's squad radioed in.
"Nice work that destroyer won't cause anymore trouble for us. Crowe stay with the carriers with the other boys, we got this."
"Affirmative Callaham."
After another easy attack the American dive and torpedo bombers completed their objective.
"Reporting that the attackers all went in. Transports destroyer!", Callaham radioed to the Enterprise.
"Good very good Lieutenant.", Nimitz said.
Meanwhile at the American fleet.
"Sir, we have our primary target. Enemy carrier in visual range.", the captain on the USS Saratoga said.
"Copy that FOX. All wing's this is the Enterprise, hit that Japanese carrier with everything that you have!", Nimitz said.
"Copy that sir. Carrier has a heavy cruiser and a destroyer for escort.", Callaham said.
"Affirmative eliminate them all."
"Affirmative. This is Avenger squad 4 we're going in."
The Japanese carrier had a Tone-Class heavy cruiser and a Mikazuki class destroyer with it. The carrier was the light carrier Ryujo and already had aircraft to engage the American planes.
"Enemy forces are inbound.", Crowe said.
"Keep them off of us Crowe.", Callaham said.
"This is Avenger squad 4 were engaging now."
The torpedo bombers made their attack run while under AA-fire and their torpedoes made direct hits.
"Nice work Avengers, we'll sink the other vessels.", Callaham said while he and his squad destroyed the Tone-class cruiser with their bombs.
"She's gone, enemy ship sunk!", a pilot said from the dive bombers squad.
"She's going to the bottom sir!", another pilot from the Avengers said as they sunk the destroyer.
"Let's finish this flat-top boys, take her out!", Callaham said.
The dive and torpedo bombers then finished off the carrier with their payloads and the carrier then began to sink and spilled oil into the ocean.
"Enemy flat-top is going down sir!", Crowe said.
"Nice work out there Crowe and Callaham! Leuitenant prepare to send a message to CINCPAC."
"Saying what sir?", the First Leuitenant said aboard the Enterprise's bridge.
"Successful strike on enemy carrier. The Japanese are retreating."
"Callaham you're getting the drinks for us tonight.", Crowe said.
"Alright Crowe , all of you boys deserve it! Another successful mission for us men."

Chapter 2: Ford Island, the tour of Pearl Harbor, and the unknown vessel at night.
"So this is Ford Island huh?", said RainbowDash.
"Yes it is. This is Ford Island.", Joe said.
"We can set you ponies up a room.", said MacArthur.
"That will be great darling!", Rarity said.
The lieutenant's showed them a room with six beds in a large room and that would be their room. Later Roosevelt had a speech to all of the military, navy, and Air Force. He would do his speech at 3:00 p.m.
Hawaii: Pearl Harbor, Oahu: 3:00 p.m. The president was in front of a large crowd and he was standing up with the leg contraptions he had to stand up that were on his legs. He was with MacArthur both Lieutenants Callaham and Crowe, and he was with the captains of the USS Enterprise and the USS Lexington. "I am glad to be here with all of you here to listen to my speech. I have an important speech about our guests here at Pearl Harbor and before I speak we will do the national anthem. Face the flag, put your right hand over your heart, ready begin! They faced the American flag that was to Roosevelt's right and began. The mane six were at the control tower and saw the Americans do their anthem.
"Sssshhh! Let's hear it everypony.", said Fluttershy. Next the Americans had their right hand over their heart and began.
[youtube=http://youtu.be/M1wLtAXDgqg ]
After the Americans finished their national anthem president Roosevelt gave his speech. "We are here to talk about something personal, gentlemen. About our guests, you MUST never talk about them or I'm afraid that other people will use them for power. And treat them with respect. They can be on our ships and you have permission to show them our ships and equipment and planes. Also BE respectful gentlemen. Good day."
The president left to go back to D.C. and the servicemen of the navy, Air Force, and military went back to their positions. "Listen here Eagles & Lieutenants, make sure our guests don't get injured or go missing from the island. Understood?", MacArthur told all of them.
"Sir, yes sir!", the Eagles and the Lieutenant's said to MacArthur.
"What would you like ponies like to see first of Pearl Harbor?", asked Lt. Callaham.
"We would like to see your navy first!", Rainbowdash said.
"Well follow us then we're going to the 'Row'.
"What do you mean 'Row'?
"You'll see RainbowDash you'll see. We're here! Welcome to battleship row!"
Battleship row was a row of 7 battleships: All of them were named after states in the U.S.
USS California (BB-44), The Battle Force flagship of the U.S. fleet. Tennessee Class Battleship. First ship of Battleship Row.
USS Maryland (BB-46) Colorado Class Battleship, alongside the Oklahoma.
USS Oklahoma (BB-37) Nevada Class Battleship, alongside the Maryland.
USS Tennessee (BB-43) Tennessee Class Battleship, alongside with the West Virginia.
USS West Virginia (BB-48) Colorado Class Battleship, alongside with the Tennessee.
USS Arizona (BB-39) Pennsylvania Class Battleship, next to a repair ship.
USS Nevada (BB-36) Nevada Class Battleship, Last ship in Battleship row.
"Wow these ships are GINORMOUS!", Applejack said.
"Yep, these are the biggest type of ships in the pacific!", Joe said.
"We have 8 battleships here but the USS Pennsylvania (BB-38) is in drydock No. 1 south of battleship row.", Captain Stone said.
"We have more ships around the harbor. Would you like to hear about them?", Lt.Crowe asked the ponies.
"Sure we would like to see them.", Pinkie Pie said to both of the Lieutenant's.
"Well, we have 2 heavy cruisers and 6 light cruisers. 30 destroyers, 4 submarines, 13 mine sweepers, and some other small vessels like PT Boats and Coast Guard. And some repair, oilers, and some other vessels in the harbor. We also have Aircraft Carriers which are big ships that are designed to carry planes and can launch/land. Also they can refuel & re-arm planes out at sea. But they require escorts out at sea. The USS Enterprise and Lexington are out at sea and are training pilots for battle.
"Well this a nice and peaceful island for your naval base.", Fluttershy said.
"Yes but there's a lot more islands in the Hawaiian islands. This our main Naval Headquarters in the Pacific Ocean, the largest ocean on the planet Earth.", MacArthur said.
"Hawaii is a peaceful place for vacation and going to the beach. It is the best tropical place in America.", Frank said.
A private from the U.S. Marines named PVT. Paul Miller approached the Lieutenant's and handed Lt.Callaham a letter from MacArthur. It said that on Decmber 7th, 1941 after 8:00 A.M. that a flight of B-17 Flying Fortress's are going to land at Hickam Airfield from California. And another flight of SBD Dauntless's from both the USS Enterprise and Lexington are also landing at Hickam Airfield.
"What does that letter say Callaham?", Crowe asked Callaham.
"I got a letter from MacArthur. It says that we will expect two flights for Pearl Harbor. We have a flight of B-17 Flying Fortress's from California. And a flight of SBD Dauntless's from our carriers out at sea."
"Well it will be a Sunday and that's when most people are on short shifts and will sleep in. Even my brother Charlie on the Arizona will sleep in always on Sunday's but not me."
"Why don't you sleep in. Doesn't it help you relax?", Fluttershy asked Lt.Crowe.
"I am in charge of Ford Island's air base and I am a light sleeper. I make sure that all of the radio's and other programs are online. And check every telegram that we get from D.C. or any where around Hawaii or the U.S. MacArthur told me that I am a great Lieutenant for my squadron.", Lt.Crowe said to Fluttershy.
"Anyway let's continue the tour of the base.", Callaham said as he put the papers in his right pocket of his pants.
10 days later... December 3rd, 1941.
The mane six now know the entire base and were very popular. A ton of sailors, pilots, and marines now knew them and their adventure's. They also shared stories about the ships stationed at Pearl. Also they saw the submarine base, the seaplane/floatplane base and went in a PBY Catilina and saw the beaches and life of the Hawaiian islands. They also have seen the Lieutenant's Callaham and Crowe fly their P-40 Warhawks with their famous shark mouth nose paint on the front of the engine. The Lieutenant's made a very tricky trick called the 'Chicken' strategy. It's when two friendly planes are in front of each other and someone goes to the right and someone goes to the left before they are very close to each other. It is a risky trick, but the U.S. War Department liked their strategy of 'chicken' and made that only the best pilots can fly that trick. And the Lieutenant's were the top 2 of the top 5 in the USAAF. And the rest were at other bases. 1 is at Wake Island and the other 2 are at Midway. The U.S. government and the president were talking about peace negotiations with Japan. While MacArthur was in the Philippines overwatching U.S. Marine bases on the islands. Great Britian also had trouble with Japan trying to invade countries near their colonies and tensions grow with the Japanese with other countries along with Australia and the Dutch. All four of these countries are trying to have peace negotiations with Japan and tension is growing in all of these countries.
3 days later... December 6th, 1941.
"I love a beautiful sunset like this on the beach.", said a lady with blonde hair that was next to Lt.Crowe. She was Crowe's girlfriend and they were both from Oahu, Hawaii. Her name was Sierra.
"Yeah Sierra, it is beautiful here on the beach at sunset.", said Crowe. He was wearing his Air Force uniform on.
"So how's it going in the USAAF?"
"It's great! It's very relaxing at Pearl when duty is off."
"How's Charlie doing?"
"Good, the Arizona has about more than a thousand people sleeping there tonight. Everyone sleeps in on a Sunday."
"I'm glad to be in Hawaii Crowe. I love you."
"I love you to Sierra."
They then kissed each other as the sun was setting over the horizon.
"Anyway see you later Sierra. Got to get back to Ford Island. Love you!"
"See you later handsome! I love you to!❤️
Back at Ford Island
"I saw you with your girlfriend at the beach! And you two kissed!", Pinkie Pie said to Crowe as he arrived to Ford.
"Yeah her name is Sierra, we have been boyfriend and girlfriend for about a month now. Besides we get along great! Good night I'll see you in the morning!"
"Goodnight!", all of the mane six whisperes at once because other people were sleeping since it was 10:00 P.M. Next the Lieutenant's, Eagles, and the mane six were all asleep.
6:00 A.M. Off the coast of Oahu about a thousand miles away, planes were taking off from 6 carriers and we're heading towards Oahu. Theywere in a large formation of about 50 planes and are on course to Oahu.
Later the USS Ward was on patrol at the harbor entrance.
USS Ward: (DD-139), Whickes Class Destroyer. ( Note: This did happen in real life!)
6:48 A.M. The USS Ward was patrolling the entrance to Pearl Harbor. The entrance had a submarine net so submarines couldn't get through to the harbor. There were also underwater mines in case of submarines. While the Ward was patrolling the entrance to the harbor they caught something on their sonar. "Captain look at this!", said a crewman on the bridge at the sonar computer.
"What is it son?", the captain asked the person at the sonar.
"We got an identified vessel near us! The rest of the crew on the bridge was listening to them.
"What type of vessel is is?"
"Hey John, can you see what's near us outside?"
"Sure Peter I'll check!", said John. He was Peter's friend on the Ward.
"There's one of our ships carrying equipment!"
"Alright, thanks John!", Peter said.
"Well then that vessel is a submarine then! Is it one of ours?", the captain asked Peter.
"No sir it's not responding. It appears to be an unidentified vessel!"
"Is it Japanese or German?"
"The radar doesn't say. It seems it's going to the entrance of Pearl!"
"Then let's attack it when it surfaces for air!"
"Sir the submarine has just surfaced to starboard sir!"
" This is the Captain of the Ward! We have found an unidentified submarine to starboard! Attack it now!
"Firing now captain!", said one of the gunners.
"FIRE!!!", the captain said to all of the gunners.
The artillery guns on the Ward fired and hit the unknown submarine in the middle and then went down. It looked like it was sinking.
"We got it sir, the sub is no longer on our sonar systems!", Peter said to the captain.
"Well we don't know if we sunk it or not. Send a message to HQ: Released Depth charges and engaged sub Let's return to Pearl, our patrol here is over.", said the captain.
