A Fierce Affair
Prologue: Majora's Defeat
Load Full StoryNext ChapterFreedom... I wanted freedom from my mask. To be myself again, that was all I desired; to strike down Majora and save Termina, and redeem myself. I got my chance by the name of Link, a young hero from a land called Hyrule. When I felt the presence of Majora nearby, I called to the hero to use my powers; to put on the mask that held me. The hero heard my voice and then... I was free. Using the body of Link, I had been restored to my former self. In my hands, I gripped my time-tested Double Helix sword. I felt it pulsing with magic, ready to smite Majora once more. The blade was green and blue, and small blue ember-like magic particles emitted from it. I was ready, and I slowly approached my old foe once more, my slow steps and heavy Iron chestplate echoing in the tile-floored and surreal arena, lit with magical light.
Suddenly, I paused, and the masks of four foul creatures that had once imprisoned the Giants inside of them, flew from me and attached themselves to the walls of the arena. The eyes of Majora's Mask began to glow, and then there was a great rumbling sound as Majora's Mask detached itself from the walls and began extending tentacles from behind its shell-like front. Majora was revived. Immediately I locked onto it and shot blue disks of pure magic power at it, first knocking it from the air and then sending it into a wall, causing a great deal of damage to the Mask. However, my concentration was broken when the masks of the four creatures, Odolwa, Gyorg, Goht, and Twinmold came off from the walls and began to shoot spheres of magic energy at me. "You really think that's going to stop me? I'm disappointed at you, Majora! You never used trickery like this when we fought long ago!" I cried as I aimed at the masks and shot them down quickly with my own magic.
"Times have changed, and you are far too old and far too weak to defeat me," responded Majora.
Majora's Mask then turned on it's side and attempted to try and knock me off my feet, but I was too smart to fall for that trick and I ran away from him.
"You flee from me like a coward, Deity! You can't possibly defeat me if you run!" said Majora in an attempt to deride me. "Come back and fight me like the warrior I know you to be!"
"Then so it shall be!" I exclaimed. I showed no mercy for Majora, and I rushed at him, discharging magic from my sword. Majora's resistance to my power was so pitiful he could barely stay up. I kept launching volley after volley of magic disks o at him, and he was no match for me. Eventually, the mask let out a kind of 'OW' sound and flipped over and over in air, moving towards the center of the room. Majora was beaten up so much that he did another old trick: transforming into a new form. the mask then sprouted a pair of legs and arms, as well as a single, horned eye. Majora then swayed around and made a series of nonsensical high-pitched chants before taking off and sprinting around the room.
Suddenly, Majora began performing an odd kind of dance and said, "I'm moonwalking on a moon, Michael Jackson can suck it!" I had no idea why he said that or who this 'Michael Jackson' person was, but nonetheless, I never faltered for a moment.
Majora then began running around again, and when he paused to attack, I pummeled him relentlessly with magic from my sword and I he was sprawled at my feet, throwing a tantrum every time he took damage. Majora barely could get any distance from me when I knocked him down again and absolutely annihilated him, and I had defeated him in his second form in only minutes. "Too easy," I thought to myself. Then, with a high-pitched wail, he began shaking and convulsing And he moved to the center of the room. Sickeningly loud hearbeat like noises filled the air and his arms and legs began pumping up with more muscle and power, and a new head sprouted up, more complete but still retaining the single horned eye from his previous incarnation. It was Majora's Wrath, physically manifested. This was as closest form to the actual form of Majora I'd ever seen in this battle. Things became even more intense when Majora sprouted to extremely long whip-like appendages that could reach quite far; that worried me for a moment. However, Majora let out a not so impressive yelp that was supposed to be intimidating, but ended up sounding like he had tripped on a banana skin and was only minimally frustrated.
"Remember me, Deity? When I last fought you, I talked JUST... LIKE... THIIIIIIIIIIIS!" Majora said, starting out with a normal voice which quickly rose into a ridiculously high and shrill voice. It was actually quite annoying, but it didn't faze me much.
"Your absurd voice and whips will do little to deter me," I yelled strongly. I knew that if I caught Majora off guard, I could get in and strike hard. I waited for Majora to strike first and when he was about to hit me, I hit him. The first magic attack that hit him stunned him, but the second one did some damage. However, Majora did an impressive flip and dodged my other attacks and attempted to hit me with with his whips. I barely dodged and I kept my eyes on Majora. When Majora got close again, I attacked and stunned him with another blast of magic from my sword, and then hit him twice before he flipped away in retreat and released a few bladed tops to try and hit me. The stupid little tops were useless, for I could drive them back with my sword. I repeated the process of attacking Majora once more... then... victory. With an ear-piercing wail, Majora swayed around and its body flew up into the air and to the center of the room.
"It isn't over yet, Deity! I will have my reveeeeeeeeeeeeenge!" Majora wailed as the room began vibrating violently and Majora's solid form began disappearing in a blindingly bright white light.
As everything whited out, Majora's last line echoed in my head. I knew he was defeated for now, but I had to put an end to him permanently. I knew he would return, if not to here then somewhere else, and I knew had to follow. However, I was still imprisoned in the mask, confined to it, bound to it by the Giant's magical seal. Hopefully the young hero who had donned my mask could help me in my quest to save the innocent lives that Majora threatened with his evil and despicable schemes. "Hear me again, Link, hear me again..."
