The Mage
You were a Pegasus born and raised away from your homeland, the homeland of your kin, in the town of Buckston. There, it was your duty to maintain weather when earth ponies could not. It was a dreary existence, but a paying one.
You * used** to have that job.*
When war broke out in Equestria, your home town was destroyed by the gryphons and the traitors who had leaked the information of your towns defenses, or lack there of. Your family was slaughtered, yet you escaped, to hide in the wilderness for the rest of your life.
You would much rather had chosen to stay in the town forever in your drudging work than your self-imposed exile.
But then there was a light. A rainbow-maned Pegasus by the name of Rainbow Dash, the Element Of Loyalty herself, discovered a fantastic way for Weather team Pegasi to earn their revenge.
She coined the term * Lightning Caller, the bringers of **Storm, Fire, and Death upon the gryphons who so mean-spiritedly took their freedom.*
It was Rainbow Dash who called you, as well as others to Ponyville, to learn techniques involving the use of clouds: how to make lighting go in a certain direction, as well as how to shift regular clouds into * lightning clouds*. You were even taught to be able to use Pegasi abilities from a distance, with the aid of a magic staff. A single Lightning caller could coat a battle field entirely in a sun concealing veil, before scorching it to ash...
Those weren't even the true extent of the powers of Rainbow Dash herself, who had learned to draw moisture to create her own clouds...
It was ultimately these powers, these Lighting Callers, that saved Cloudsdale, and kept raiders at bay as Ponyville constructed walls of defense. To say it won the war is an overstatement, but it certainly saved many major cities.
Now back to you. After the war, the Callers disbanded, and many even turned to crime. They were both to be feared, and respected by common folk. Most of those that turned to crime were executed upon capture, and so far, only 20 callers remain that are documented as alive, including the Element of Loyalty, and 4 wanted criminals.
Lightning Caller was a label, a feared and hated one to you, and you separated yourself from it as much as possible. Until now. You don't know what triggered it, but you felt a call to adventure. You wanted to restore the good name to the callers, and kill those who soiled it. You would help other ponies with their problems. This is where your story begins. A cry for help, a job posting on the bulletin, to rescue a lost foal. Where shall you go first, hero?

Class Selection, Warrior: The Defiant Defender
The Warrior
Born in Canterlot, you were a unicorn... But there was something very wrong with you....
You couldn't use magic... Every spell you tried, never worked, your horn never even glowed. You couldn't even levitate a feather sitting only inches in front of you.
This was a horror to your parents, both of whom were distinguished unicorns in the royal guard. It was just impossible for you to use magic.
But not to worry...that's the * only** grievance to be told.*
Upon taking you to see a doctor, to see what was wrong, there seemed nothing out of the ordinary... In fact, magic stronger than any ever seen in a unicorn was surging through every cell in your body...
The only reason you couldn't cast spells was that somehow, that magic was being used.....
The doctor attempted to use his own magic to figure out what was wrong, to try and free the apparent block on you, only to be knocked out cold by an unseen force...
It was when he woke that he explained what he witnessed.
All that powerful magic coursing through you was for some reason, unwillingly, being channeled into a counter-spell protecting you from all forms of magic.
In your later years, this spell still cancelled your magic, but it grew more powerful as you aged. By the time you entered training as a cadet in the royal guard, it was apparently even able to counter a moderate blast from Celestia herself.
A powerful counter-spell indeed.
However, it always taxed you, and countering spells exhausted your stamina, even if you had no ability to turn it off. You could easily shrug off a spell or two, even by the most powerful of unicorns, but a prolonged fight would beg to lead to your capture.
You trained as an elite among the royal guard. The gryphons had mages as well, in the form of Battlespeakers , who sang fire, ice, fear, and weakness to Equestria, but glory, power, and healing to the Gryphonlands.
The gryphons also had unicorns among the agents they seeded loyalty into, granting them power at a moments notice.
You were known as "Shatterspell", due to your power to counter such magic. You were able to reflect any bolt or beam, and, if you led a charge, the Battlespeakers mind-magic would be held back, going no further than your position.
You alone were the cause of victory at the Charge of Horseshoe Mountain, where it was documented that the most Battlespeakers had been fielded by the Gryphonlands, an astounding 15 of them. That many could of sang loud enough to shatter the will of ponies miles ahead. The mind-magic didn't drain you, and you were able to allow the equestrian forces to get close enough to clash the gryphon army.
To say you had a hidden blessing would be an understatment.
After the war ended, you put your abilities to furthur use by engaging in mercenary work. Ponies started turning to crime in the aftermath of towns being destroyed and evacuated. Raids by these ponies destroyed even more towns, but of particular note, you were hunting a certain band of these raiders.
'Dark Deliverance', they were called, led by a powerful unicorn named Blinking Dagger. He was the strongest among the agents of the gryphons, yet he was never caught. He formed his band from fellow traitors, and of the poor who didn't know who he was until it was too late to leave the crew.
He was your final goal, but you had a long way to go before you could face him. You had to find out where Dark Deliverance was, and that was no easy task, considering they exterminated the populace before raiding. It was a simple strategy to surround the area with the elite of the crew, and allow the recruits charge in to prove their weight in * blood*. ANYTHING seen coming out of the town that was either hurt, or wasn't carrying a weapon was immediatly killed by the bandit elite, regardless of who they were.
Such were the crimes you swore to see brought to justice. You had contact with the guard, but traveling as a legion would slow you down and leave you prone to ambush.
So now alone, you find yourself at a town, and there seems to be a lost foal around the area... By still being a member of the guard, duty called you to help.
So where will you look first, hero?

Class Selection, Rogue: The Beastmaster
The Rogue
You are an Earth pony. You lived and grew up in Ponyville, and it's safe to assume that it was the craziest town in Equestria. Also worth mentioning that it was the home of the bearers of the Elements of Harmony, the magical artifacts that saved Equestria time and time again.
You actually took an interest to one of them, and she liked you back just as much. A yellow, pink maned Pegasi by the name of Fluttershy. Easily scared, yet always ready to put her hoof down when she was needed the most. You liked that kind of attitude in a pony. Reminded you of yourself, especially when you were young.
You always kept close relationship with her, and visited her cottage every other day. It wasn't just her, you also loved the animals she cared for, and assisted her with every little thing when caring for them. Some might say you had just as close of a relationship with animals as Fluttershy did, and they weren't far from the truth. You could understand them, and they understood, and listened to you. It was all too nice.
As luck would have it, nice didn't last forever. It was all over the news.
War. In Equestria... By the Gryphonlands to the north.
A legion of Royal Guards had come to Ponyville. It was strange, and you didn't know if it was enough to protect the town. It was unguarded except by the Everfree forest, which was growing all across Equestria due to the burned villages providing fertilizer for the forest to grow out of its previous area.
It was when it got bad enough to envelop Fluttershy's home that you truly became worried. You still visited her, able to pass the creatures unharmed.
It was like this for a long time, until it was decided there needed to be a wall around Ponyville. Nopony was allowed to leave, or they'd be in danger of being left outside when the wall was finished.
Nopony had seen Fluttershy during this time, though she assured the bearers, that she would be safe in the forest, since no animals truly wanted to harm her.
When the wall was finished, you rushed out the gates to find her cottage, and entered what was now known as , 'The Great Forest'.
The Everfree had grown very dense in the months past, and you almost couldn't find your way to the cottage, even though it wasn't very far from the wall itself.
When you did find it, however.... It was a horrifying sight to behold...
The cottage, and some of the surrounding area was charred, and looked like it had been burned quite some time ago. And it definitely wasn't a forest fire... Some thing did this intent intentionally.
But this wasn't the strangest of the sights to behold. There were hundreds of stones scattered on the ground, all standing upright. They were decorated with items you recognized, even when burned, from the cottage.
You stepped closer to one of them, and you noticed a name upon it. You wiped away the dust and cringed when you recognized it: Angel Bunny...
The stones were graves.
Tears welling in your eyes, you walked into the cottage, even as it looked as if it could collapse upon you.
What you saw was worthy of the most unponylike scream ever heard.
In the center of the room... Were three skeletons.
But they weren't pony skeletons, definitely not. Ponies don't have beaks. They were gryphon skeletons.
All three of them had crushed ribs and broken joints. One was missing its chest and both of its front legs.
They were gryphons, but the sight horrified you, and you ran out in fear, into the forest.
Where was Fluttershy in all this? Was she hurt? Could she be... Dead? You hoped not.
At some point you stopped. Something was watching you. You could hear the rustlings in the trees, bt it became apparant that the rustling was following you.
" Who's there?.... Fluttershy... Is that... You?"
You found yourself assailed upon by a pony in a cloak made from leaves, with a wooden make over it's face.
"Oh my.. It.. It's you!", the masked pony said happily, in a voice you sure as Tartarus remembered.
"Fluttershy?! What happened to you... I saw the cottage, I thought you.... "
She removed her mask, showing a look of sadness. She had cuts all over her face, and she looked like a grizzled war veteran.
" I know.... The gryphons attacked my cottage and.. I couldn't do anything about it... Poor Angel Bunny... " She said, swelling to tears.
You prepared to comfort her, but she quickly shook off the tears, and immediatly had a look of seriousness.
" But now I WILL do something about it!", she began, Baring her teeth. "Those Gryphons were big meanies, and I'll never let any gryphon... Or Pony... Hurt another critter or animal again!"
Soon you became aware of a large monstrosity hulking towards you. You turned to see a large brown bear, a scar over its left eye, and a ripped right ear. It smiled at you.
"Harry?" You wondered, knowing the bear at an instant.
He nodded, but you paid no heed.
So Fluttershy wanted to protect animals. She couldn't do it alone though. And in your panic, you'd probably never find your way back to Ponyville.
"Would you like some help taking care of the animals, ma'am?" You asked, tilting your head slightly.
She looked at you, recognizing the same question you'd asked her when you first came to her cottage.
She nodded, and you followed her off into the shadows.
I seriously need to rush this. This is too long compared to the other classes!
Years passed, and you travelled with Fluttershy. Animals everywhere seemed to always listen to you, and they never tried to hurt you. You and Fluttershy, your name unknown, with Fluttershy presumed missing... The Guardians of the Great Forest. You and Fluttershy split up so that you would be able to cover more of Equestria. You had one job: help animals in need, and confront those that attempted to hurt them.
At some point , you wanted to actually meet ponies on equal terms, however, so you started going into towns, unmasked and uncloaked, of course.
You always helped ponies, and didn't ask for money in return. You were glad to help.
Recently, it was apparent that a filly was lost in the area, and you decided to help find her. Where will you look first?

You were born in Equestria, under the rule of Princesses Celestia, Luna, Twilight Sparkle, and Mi Amore Cadenza . You were a pony who lived safely under the protection of your goddesses. That is, of course, until war broke out in the surrounding world. It was a hard fought decade, and Equestria survived, but... 'scenarios'... have wiped out around 35% of the Equestrian population, sadly. In the aftermath, however, this provided great opportunities to see the rest of the land. Adventuring has become commonplace, now that crime was starting to come through the society. Mercenary work, bounty hunting, everything a land like Equestria did not have prior now was viable. Criminals form raids to raze outlying villages and towns. Forested areas set in, with animals and beasts to fill them. Equestria was no longer such a utopia, and the royal guard found themselves not only at the side of the princesses, but at the side of common folk, to protect them from such raids.
Equestria has changed in many ways... But not for the better....
This story shall star... You. So, young hero, who will you be for your legend? You have achieved great feats before, but you must continue to do so.
