Chapters Power Rangers Harmony Force
On the moon…
Two astronauts are exploring the barren wasteland that in the moon’s surface. They come across a strange door in a rock formation. There is a key right next to it. Curious, one astronaut decides to unlock the door.
This turned out to be an idiotic move, as from within the rock emerged a mysterious figure with skin that’s black as night, dark blue hair that looks as if it has stars in it, a strange spear with a moon-shaped blade on the end, and silvery blue armor. This dark figure is Nightmare Moon.
“Ah, after 1,000 years I’m free. Time to bring about eternal night!” she says, “But first, as a reward for setting me free...” With that, she zaps the astronauts. The dark energy she zapped them with changed them into anthropomorphic wolves wearing battle armor, one had purple and silver armor (this would be Jackel) and the other had black and silver armor (this would be Hyde).
Nightmare Moon laughed maniacally and her new werewolf commanders howled.
Meanwhile, on Earth, in Canterlot…
It’s around mid afternoon at the Canterlot Youth Center. Rainbow Dash is helping Apple Bloom practice her karate skills while the rest of the Human 6 are just hanging out at a table.
“So, where do you think the Sirens went after we defeated them in the Battle of the Bands?” asked Sunset Shimmer, remembering what happened just three days earlier .
“Ah don’t know, but ah doubt we need to worry ‘bout ‘em any time soon,” answered Applejack.
“Yes, it would be most preposterous for the Sirens to return so soon after they were defeated,” added Rarity.
“Still, I can’t help but feel a little bit sorry for them,” said Sunset, “I mean, I was in that position once, as well.”
“You mean the power crazed lunatic from Equestria who mind controlled the entire school?” asked Pinkie Pie, “Um, no offense.”
“None taken. And also, yes, exactly that.”
Rainbow Dash came over to the table. “Wow, your sister is doing great with karate, Applejack. She’s really coming along. Though she still has a long ways to go if she wants to best me,” said Rainbow, arrogant as ever.
Then the building started to shake. “Earthquake!” said Doughnut Joe, who worked at the place. People started running out of the Center in panic.
Meanwhile, somewhere under the city…
“Oh,no, earthquake!” shouted Derpy Hooves (or Ditzy Doo, or Muffins, whatever you call her).
“This is no earthquake, Derpy. Nightmare Moon’s escaped,” said a strange voice, “Recruit a team of teenagers with attitude.”
“Of course, Zodor.”
Meanwhile, back at the Youth Center…
“We have to take cover,” said Sunset.
They started to run for cover, but before they could get very far, Sunset, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie were teleported away somewhere, leaving Fluttershy behind.
The five that were teleported ended up in a huge underground chamber that seemed much like the Bat-cave. They landed on a central pillar that had some very advanced technology, including several monitors, the central monitor being the largest. There were multiple bridge-like structures on the sides, each leading towards tube-like elevator.
From one elevator came Derpy. She tripped on along the way and came tumbling down.
Rainbow Dash helped her up. “Are you okay, Derpy?”
“Yeah, I’m okay,” Derpy replied.
The largest monitor turned on. “Greeting, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Sunset Shimmer,” said the monitor.
“Wow, that computer knows our names,” said Pinkie.
“Listen children. I have a task for you.”
“Well, we’re not going to do anything until we know who/what you are,” said Rainbow.
“Very well. My codename is Master Zodor, my real name is classified for my own protection. Let’s just say that I am someone you know and can trust at Canterlot High. And of course you may know Derpy Hooves, my assistant.” Derpy waved.
“So, onto the matter at hand. An evil sorceress of darkness, Nightmare Moon, has escaped after 1,000 years of imprisonment on the moon. She has vowed to bring about eternal night.”
“So, where do we come in?” asked Rarity.
“That’s the best part. You all have been chosen to pilot a fleet of powerful machines known as Zords and be heroes known to one and all as the Power Rangers Harmony Force. Sunset Shimmer, confident and forgiving, will become the Red Harmony Ranger. Rainbow Dash, brash and egotistical, yet loyal through and through, will become the Blue Harmony Ranger. Applejack, headstrong and stubborn, yet honest to the core (pun intended), will become the Yellow Harmony Ranger. Rarity, sophisticated and vain, yet undoubtedly generous, will become the White Harmony Ranger. And Pinkie Pie, hyperactive and random, and perhaps the physical embodiment of joy and happiness, will become Pink Harmony Ranger, though was there ever any doubt she wouldn’t be.”
“Okay, so, what are we supposed to do?” asked Sunset, “You weren’t very clear.”
“Simple, you will use special devices known as Harmony-morphers to morph into a form that will prove useful in combat. Derpy, please hand out the Harmony-morphers.”
The Harmony-morphers looked like a high-tech bracelets. And each morpher had a different gem in it; Sunset’s had a ruby, Rainbow’s had a sapphire, Rarity’s had an diamond, Applejack’s had a topaz, and Pinkie’s had a pearl.
“Whenever you need to morph, simply raise your hands to the sky while touching the gem and say, ‘Power Rangers, harmony up’,” explained Derpy.
“This is just too cool to be true,” said Rainbow Dash.
“Ah have to agree with Rainbow Dash on this one,” said Applejack.
“Yeah, this just seems a bit farfetched,” said Sunset, “Though then again, we did just defeat three Sirens with a giant alicorn of light, so I guess it’s possible.”
“She makes a good point,” said Pinkie.
“Hmm. Perhaps you’d like some time to think this over,” suggested Zodor, “Please, keep the morphers. And if you decide you’d like to become a Ranger, then all you need to do is use the morpher. Oh, and don’t tell anyone about any of this. We want this to stay a secret.”
“Okay, and thank you for these morphers. So, uh, you wouldn’t mind teleporting us back to the Youth Center, would you?” asked Rarity.
“Oh, of course. Derpy, fire it up.”
“Yes, sir.” Derpy pressed a few buttons and the five were teleported back to the Center.
Fluttershy was still there. “Where did you guys go?” she asked, slightly frightened by their sudden reappearance..
“Um, we don’t know what just happened. Somehow we were in a cave, but we don’t know anything else,” answered Pinkie, trying to keep the secret.
“It was really strange,” said Sunset, “Anyway, we should get going. Our parents might be worried about us.”
Meanwhile, at Nightmare Moon’s Lunar Fortress…
“General Hyde!” shouted Nightmare Moon.
“Yes, my queen?” asked the werewolf.
“Have you assembled the Bat Soldiers we need?”
“Yes, I have. Should I send them down to Earth now?”
“That would be appreciated, along with a monster.”
“And which monster would that be?”
“The Manticore.”
Back in Canterlot…
The Human 6 have just left the Center when out of nowhere comes a group of people with bat wings. These creatures start attacking random people. Among these creatures comes a lion with bat wings and a scorpion's tail: a Manticore.
Fluttershy gets scared by this and ducks behind some bushes. Sunset and the others try to fight back against the creatures but to no avail. The Bat Soldiers just knock them around.
Somehow, the Bat Soldiers manage to corner Sunset and the others. “I think this may be a good time to try out these morphers, don’t you think, guys?” asks Sunset.
“Yeah, I agree,” says Rainbow.
“Me too,” says Rarity.
“Me three,” says Pinkie
“Ah don’t see any other way to defeat these thing, so why not,” says Applejack.
“Okay then. Let’s do this,” says Sunset, “It’s morphin’ time!”
They all raise their hands to the sky, press the gem on the Harmony-morphers, and say, “Power Rangers, harmony up!”
A beam of pink light shoots up from Pinkie’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a fairy. Pinkie jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a pink bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a balloon. Pinkie twirls her cape and poses in front of a tornado. “Random as wind, Pink Harmony Ranger!”
A beam of white light shoots up from Rarity’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a unicorn. Rarity jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a white bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a diamond. Rarity twirls her cape and poses in front of a mountain. “Indestructible as crystal, White Harmony Ranger!”
A beam of yellow light shoots up from Applejack’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a wolf. Applejack jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a yellow bodysuit appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like an apple. Applejack twirls her cape and poses in front of a giant tree. “Strong as a tree, Yellow Harmony Ranger!”
A beam of blue light shoots up from Rainbow’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a pegasus. Rainbow jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a blue bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a lightning bolt. Rainbow twirls her cape and poses in front of a thunderstorm. “Fast as lightning, Blue Harmony Ranger!”
A beam of red light shoots up from Sunset’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a phoenix. Sunset jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a red body suit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a sun. Sunset twirls her cape and poses in front of a setting sun. “Powerful as the sun, Red Harmony Ranger!”
They all posed as an explosion went off behind them. Why? I don’t know, but it made them look really cool.
“Zodor, I think we’ve made our decision,” said Sunset, speaking into the built-in communicator in the helmets.
“Very good. I will have Derpy prepare the Zords,” replied Zodor, “In the meantime, how about you fight some of those Bat Soldiers. I included weapons in the suits.”
“Great, thanks.” Sunset pulled a golden sword out of its scabbard. The hilt appeared to have a sun-like design to it. The rest of the rangers pulled out their weapons as well. What are they, you ask? Well, Rainbow Dash has a laser-crossbow with a lightning bolt design, Applejack has a double-sided axe that’s in the shape of an apple, Pinkie has two daggers with a balloon design on the hilts, and Rarity has a diamond-topped staff.
Anyways, the five Rangers started fighting Bat Soldiers left and right. They were doing pretty well for their first time.
And in a short time, most of the Bat Soldiers had been defeated. “This is so much fun!” said Pinkie, excitedly.
“Yeah, it is,” said Sunset, “But don’t forget that we still need to defeat that Manticore.”
“Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that,” replied Pinkie.
“So, where is it?” asked Rainbow.
As if on cue, the Manticore came running down the street, chasing a bus.
“You might need to combine your weapons into the Mega-laser Crossbow in order to defeat that Manticore,” said Zodor over the Comm-device.
“And do you suggest we do that?” asked Sunset.
“Simple, just connect the sword, staff, daggers, and axe to make a big arrow. Then put that arrow on the crossbow and fire a Mega-laser at the monster.”
“Okay girls, you her Zodor, let’s do this!” shouted Pinkie.
The blade of Sunset’s sword split in two, allowing for Rarity’s staff to go in between the blades. Then Applejack connected her axe to the hilt of Sunset’s sword as Pinkie Pie connected her daggers to Rarity’s staff. The finished ‘arrow’ was then put on the crossbow. It took all five of them to simply hold it up, since it ended up being so long.
Rainbow Dash took aim at the Manticore and fired. Out of the Mega-laser Crossbow came a beam of rainbow light. Upon hitting the Manticore, it was surrounded in an explosion.
Meanwhile, Nightmare Moon’s Fortress…
“What’s this? The Manticore has been defeated!” shouted Nightmare Moon, looking into a crystal ball near her throne, “Impossible, yet it happened. Jackel!”
“Yes, your majesty?”asked the werewolf, Jackel.
“You are good with dark magic, are you not?”
“Yes, indeed I am.”
“Well then, heal the Manticore and give it greater power!”
“Yes, right away. Resurrecto!” said Jackel, using a resurrection spell.
Back in Canterlot…
The Rangers’ celebration was cut short as the Manticore started to grow to enormous size.
“Um, Zodor. I think we might need those Zords, now!” said Sunset into the Comm-device.
“Right away,” answered Zodor.
Back at the Command Center, Derpy activated the Zords’ autopilots and the Zords drove out of the garage. These Zords were basically emergency vehicles, fitting since this was an emergency. They were a red fire truck for Sunset (though what other colors do fire trucks come in? [Don’t answer that, it was rhetorical]), a blue jet for Rainbow, a yellow helicopter for Applejack, a pink police car for Pinkie, and a white ambulance for Rarity.
As the Zords came driving up the street, they began to combine.
The police car and the ambulance spun around to drive backward. The two vehicles then extended parts and connected to the back of the fire truck. The fire truck was then lifted into the air, allowing for the jet and the helicopter to attach to either side of the truck and transformed to become hands. The front windows of the fire truck then came down to the front of the Zord, forming a breast plate. And where the windows used to be, a head came up from inside the truck and took their place.
The Rangers were then teleported into the Megazord’s head, which was just big enough to have a cockpit that fit five people.
Over a comm-system in the cockpit, the Rangers could hear Zodor say, “Welcome to the Harmony Megazord, girls.”
“This is so awesome!” said Rainbow Dash.
“Yeah, really cool!” agreed Pinkie.
“Alright, let’s just focus on the monster,” said Applejack.
“Right,” they all said.
“Okay, Manticore, time to go back to Tartarus where you belong,” said Sunset.
The Rangers piloted the Megazord so that it punched the Manticore. The Manticore was barely fazed by this and attacked the Megazord with its tail.
“Hmm, that things strong,” says Zodor, “But I have just the thing. Everyone, press the button in front of you that says, ‘Spectrum Cannon’.”
“Okay, Zodor,” said Sunset, “Press the button on the count of three. One. Two. Three!” They all pressed the button and a big cannon in the Megazord’s chest fired a blast of rainbow-colored energy at the Manticore, making the monster explode.
They all celebrated (you can probably guess who is who).
“Yeah, alright. Score one for the Power Rangers!”
“That was so awesome!’
“Yeehaw!”
“Yippee!”
“So colorful. It’s inspiring!”
Nightmare Moon’s Fortress…
“What?!” shouted Nightmare Moon, angrily, “That Manticore was suppose to be unbeatable. How is this possibly?”
“It seems that Earth has some new protectors,” said Hyde.
“You don’t think I can see that?”
“Oh, I’m sorry, my queen. It’s just, I did not know of these new protectors, these new ‘Power Rangers’.”
“Hmph, oh Zodor, you're at it again,” said Nightmare Moon to herself.
“What shall we do, my queen?”
“Ready the Bat Soldiers. And prepare for war. Night is falling.”
Back in the Command Center…
“Congratulations, Rangers,” says Zodor, “You have defeated your first monster as Power Rangers. But I feel that this is not over. In fact it will only get harder from here. You have a long journey ahead of you. But for now, enjoy yourselves.”
“Thanks Zodor, we will,” said Sunset, “Any advice for us before we are teleported home?”
“Yes, actually. First, you should note that if the teleporters built into the morphers aren’t working, you can always get into the Command Center through the library of Canterlot High or the sewer system. And secondly, I would advise against using the morphers in personal battles, unless there are innocent lives on the line. That is all for now.”
“Okay, thanks. Now let’s head on out of here. Derpy, fire it up.”
“Right away, Sunset.”

Chapter 2:
Shellshocked
At Rainbow Dash’s house…
Rainbow turned on the tv. “This is Canterlot News at six,” it said.
“Hello and welcome back,” said the reporter, “I’m Press Pass. Tonight we have a story that will amaze you. It certainly amazed the witnesses of the occurrence. One word: Superheroes. No, you did not hear me wrong. Real life superheroes saved the city from a monster attack just hours ago. We weren’t able to get any footage of the events that went down but the eye-witnesses described what happened. Apparently, the witnesses were attacked by a strange group human-like creatures with bat-wings and, get this, a Manticore. As if straight out of Greek mythology. Now that’s not to say I don’t believe the eye-witnesses, after all they’re not called ‘eye-witnesses’ for nothing, but I do admit that it is quite unbelievable. I mean, how would you react to seeing a mythological creature. I’m getting off subject. Anyway, the creatures were attacking and out of nowhere come these five colorful superheroes. According to the witnesses, the heroes fought off the bat-winged creatures and then proceeded to fight the Manticore. Unsurprisingly, they defeated the monster, but then it grew to the size of a three story building. Even at this shocking turn of events, the heroes were prepared. They used a giant robot to fight the monster. Yes, I know, it seems so much like something out of science fiction. But it happened. No point in denying it. Anyway, these heroes apparently call themselves the ‘Power Rangers’. Cool name, I admit. Where these heroes are now is unknown. Now onto meteorologist Clear Skies with weather.”
“Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!” Rainbow said excitedly. Honestly, who wouldn’t be like this when they’re on the news. Of course, this would lead to a huge boost in Rainbow’s ego (as if she wasn’t arrogant enough already. Don't believe me? Here’s an example: she wrote an entire song stating how awesome she is).
Anyway, the next day, Canterlot High Music Room…
“Did, you guys watch the news yesterday?” asked Rainbow.
“Oh, I did,” said Pinkie, “There’s a 30% chance of rain today and…”
“Not that, Pinkie. Before that,” interrupted Rainbow.
“Oh right, the story about the Power Rangers.”
“You were all on the news?” asked Fluttershy.
“Yeah, we were,” confirmed Dash, “Wait a second. How do you know we’re the Power Rangers?”
“Uh, well, you disappeared for a few minutes when the earthquake happened. Then when you reappeared, Pinkie Pie was acting suspiciously. And then you seemed to disappear again right before the Rangers arrived. So I connected the dots,” Fluttershy explained, “Plus I may or may not have seen you transform from where I was hiding.”
“Great, so our secret’s out,” said Applejack.
“This is just perfect. No one is supposed to know our secret besides us,” said Rarity.
“Oh, don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone,” reassured Fluttershy, “Your secret is safe with me.”
“Thanks, Fluttershy. The last thing we need is to be found out by the public,” said Sunset.
Nightmare Moon’s Fortress…
Nightmare Moon was staring into her crystal ball, replaying the battle of the Rangers versus her Manticore. “I do admit, they are skilled. But I doubt they are skilled enough to defeat my entire army.”
“It would be a smart move to test their strength, as so we don’t underestimate them,” suggested Jackel.
“Yes, I agree, but how are we to do it?”
“I know just the monster we could use.”
“Well, what is it?”
“I’ll give you a hint: it has giant claws and it comes from Greek Myth.”
“Ow, how I do like that idea. Better prepare, Rangers, this creature is only the beginning. Mwahahahahahahahaha!”
Back in Canterlot High, Lunchtime…
The Rangers are having lunch are telling to Fluttershy about how they became
Rangers, well, at least up until the point when they were teleported back to Fluttershy because Fluttershy saw everytime else.
“Wow, is amazing. But are you sure you can trust this ‘Zodor’ person” says Fluttershy.
“We get why you're skeptical, Fluttershy, but you don’t have to worry,” said Rainbow, “If Zodor wasn’t to be trusted, then why would he have chosen us to protect Canterlot.”
“I agree with Rainbow Dash,” said Sunset, “We wouldn’t be the ‘you know what's’ if we couldn’t trust Zodor.”
“Zodor?” asked a guy that just happened to be walking by, “Who’s that?”
“Uh, um nothing. Ha ha,” Sunset laughed nervously. She didn’t recognize the guy. “Wait, who are you?”
“My name’s Spark Hedge. I’m new here.”
“Great, another new student,” Sunset thought, rightfully suspicious (after all, Canterlot High seems to be a popular place for beings from Equestria to meet/battle).
Spark, if you’d like to know, spoke in a New York accent, so it’s safe to guess that he’s from Manehattan. He also had electric blue skin, cyan eyes, and yellow and orange hair that looked a little like lightning, not like a literal lightning bolt, but in a more subtle way (like it sticks out a bit in the front and is spiky in the back). He was wearing a bright green hoodie with a white t-shirt underneath ,goggles around his neck, denim shorts, and combat boots. Why? Because they just look cool. He was also wearing a pin with a cross wrench and rainbow colored lightning bolt on it (like a cross-bones, but instead of bones the wrench and lightning bolt).
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, the cafeteria. So, Spark introduced himself, as did the Human 6. Spark joined them. He told them about himself, “Well, I have a little brother, Lightning Rod, or Roddey for short. He’s got quite a temper.”
“Um, when you say, ‘quite a temper,’ how much of a temper do you mean?” asked Fluttershy.
“Let’s just that the vice-principal for the Manehatten School for Troubled Youths may or may not have ended up in a full body cast. Anyway, listen to me going on and on about me. How about you all tell me about you?.
“Well, believe it or not, we all have this crazy ability to grow pony ears, tails, and in the case of Rainbow and Fluttershy, wings when we play music,” rambled Pinkie.
“That sound awesome.”
“Yeah, it is,” says Rainbow.
Right then they heard the sound of something roaring outside. Everyone rushed to the windows excepted the Rangers.
“Is that a giant crab?” yelled one of the students.
With everyone looking out the window, the Rangers were able to sneak away.
“It’s morphin’ time!” Sunset shouted.

They rusted outside with their weapons in hand.
A troop of Bat Soldiers attacked them, but were beaten within a few minutes.
When the last of the Bat Soldiers was defeated, they slowed down to take in what was happening. There was indeed giant crab. It was about six foot four, threw right, batted left. Just kidding, it’s a crab, just a big crab. A Karkinos, more specifically.
“Okay, anybody up for seafood?’ said Sunset.
“Really, Sunset,” said Rarity, “Now is hardly the time for playful banter.”
“Right, sorry. Let’s do this.”
They attack the crab, which just shrugs of the blows (not literally, it doesn’t have shoulders, at least I think).
“Oh boy, that crab’s exoskeleton is harder than a…”
“That’s enough, Applejack,” scowled Pinkie, “There might be children reading this.”
“What, I was going to say ‘rock’. Oh, and please don’t break the fourth wall, Pinkie. You know how hard it is to fix.”
“Fine, I won’t.”
“Focus, you two. We need to defeat this thing,” says Rainbow.
“I say we just put the weapons together and get this thing over with,” suggests Applejack.
“I agree,” says Rarity.
They put the weapons together to form the Mega-laser Crossbow and fire. The Karkinos is knocked back and defeated.
Nightmare Moon’s fortress…
“Jackel, restore that monster!” ordered Nightmare Moon.
“Right away, my queen. Ressurecto!” said Jackel.
With the Rangers…
The crab got back up and grew to colossal size.
“Um, I think we’re gonna need a bigger gun,” said Sunset, obvious reference is obvious, “Zodor, the Zords please.”
“Right away,” answers Zodor.
The Zords are deployed, transforming into the Megazord.
The police car and the ambulance spun around to drive backward. The two vehicles then extended parts and connected to the back of the fire truck. The fire truck was then lifted into the air, allowing for the jet and the helicopter to attach to either side of the truck and transformed to become hands. The front windows of the fire truck then came down to the front of the Zord, forming a breast plate. And where the windows used to be, a head came up from inside the truck and took their place.
The Rangers are teleported inside the head.
“Okay, team. Let’s go fishing,” says Sunset, “Spectrum Cannon on my count. One. Two. Three. Fire!” They all press the Spectrum Cannon button and the chest cannon shoots a beam of rainbow light at the crab. An explosion ensues and the Rangers celebrate.
But all too soon. When the smoke clears, the Karkinos is still standing. Stunned, but standing.
“Oh no, what do we do now?”
“Don’t worry, girls. I’m on it,” says Zodor, “I’ve sent reinforcements.”
To the Megazord’s right came what appeared to be a flying blue car. It landed on the Megazord’s head and transformed into a helmet of sorts. “Great, now we look like Optimus Prime,” says Sunset. And she was right, the Megazord’s design did indeed look like a slightly recolored version of Optimus Prime.
“So what exactly is that helmet for?” asks Rainbow.
“That helmet is actually a cannon that uses audio frequencies and combines them with the Spectrum Cannon to create a blast made of pure sound. To put it simply, it uses the Spectrum Cannon to make painful noise. In theory, it can make more than just ears bleed,” explained Zodor, “Try it out.”
“Okay, though it seems rather counterproductive in a way,” Rarity points out.
“We don’t have time to talk about this. The crab’s getting back up. So let’s make like Shia Lebouf and ‘Just do it!’,” says Rainbow.
They all press the Spectrum Cannon button and instead of a rainbow beam shooting from the chest, rainbow-colored sound waves come shooting from Speaker Cannons in the helmet.
The sound waves hit the Karkinos and it is send flying backwards. It explodes from the impact upon landing.
“Yeehaw, now that’s what ah call a ‘head-canon’!” shouts Applejack.
They all celebrate.
Nightmare Moon’s fortress…
“Well that plan failed, more or less,” says Hyde.
“Yes, but at the very least we do know that the Rangers are not to be underestimated,” says Jackel.
“Hmm, very true. Perhaps we should call upon a more experienced evil,” suggest Nightmare Moon.
“That would be most useful of a resource,” agrees Jackel, “Whom do you suggest, my queen?”
“I have just the person in mind, or should I say, ‘Succubus in mind’. An old ally of mine, from before my imprisonment. The ruler of the underworld herself.”
“Why a Succubus? According to legend, Succubi feed on the blood of men they seduced. You do know that we appear to be dealing with teenage girls, right?” asks Hyde.
“Okay, one: do you have something against people being attracted to the same gender as they are, because I don’t. I’m evil, not prejudice. And two: don’t you ever question me!” Nightmare Moon warned.
“So, how are we to contact this this ally of yours?” asked Jackel.
“Well first, I’ll need to find something. Then, you’ll have to retrieve it, Hyde. For now, ready a small troop of Bat Soldiers. We don’t want to draw too much attention to ourselves where it’s not needed.”
“Yes, my queen.”
After school, Harmony Force Command Center…
“You did excellently today, Rangers, most excellently,” said Zodor.
“Yeah, really great,” agrees Derpy.
“Well we probably couldn’t have done it without your help,” says Sunset, “I mean, without that new helmet thing, we probably didn’t have much chance of defeating that Karkinos. By the way, what was that exactly?”
“That was a prototype weapon I like to call the Deathtone. It was originally Vinyl Scratch’s transforming car, you know from the Battle of the Bands, and it has been engineered by our new mechanic. Speaking of which, Vinyl Scratch has joined the Harmony Force (but not as a Ranger) along with our new mechanic. Since he’s already here, I’ll just let you all take the elevators to the garage and meet him.”
The Rangers each took an elevator down to the garage to meet the mechanic, who was working on some sort of motorcycle. He got up from his work to relieve he was…
“Spark Hedge?” asked Sunset, surprised.
Power Rangers Harmony Force
“This is Canterlot News at 6,” said the TV.
“Hello and welcome back. I’m Press Pass. Tonight we have more on the Power Rangers. Earlier today, another creature attacked our city. This time a huge crab. And again the Rangers were able to defeat the monster. What’s next for our heroes, I wonder. Anyway, on a similar, yet different note, just last night, there was a robbery at a jewelry store. This of course isn’t very exciting news. At least not yet. During the robbery, or should I say, ‘attempted robbery,’ a new hero appeared on the scene. According to what one of the robbers said in an interview, and I quote, “The [hero] appeared in a large puff of smoke, swiped a card through some sort of card reader on their arm, and said something like, ‘Houdini’s Hold.’ The next thing I knew, I was chained up to a lamppost and an indigo clad person was standing a little was standing a little ways away.” The robber described the person’s appearance as ‘the Power Rangers, but with a magiciany flare to the design.’ Through what we know already, we have named this hero the Indigo Ranger. More on this as it develops. Now onto Meteorologist Clear Skies with weather.”
The next day, Harmony Force Command Center…
The Rangers are all just hanging out in the Command Center. Rarity goes down to the garage and sees Spark tinkering with her Zord. And by ‘tinkering’ I mean loading it with missiles. “Uh, Spark, what are you doing?” she asks.
“Oh, hey Rarity. I’m just giving your Zord some additional weaponry,” Spark answered.
“Uh, are you sure that’s a good idea, darling?”
“All ideas are good ideas, as long as they have nothing to do with Donald Trump. The guy’s got an ego bigger than Rainbow Dash’s, and that’s saying a lot.”
“Can’t argue with that. But seriously, why are you adding missiles to my ambulance?”
“Battle is all about strategy, outsmarting your opponent. Yes, sometimes you just need to throw a few punches, but other times, you need the element of surprise. And what’s more surprising than explosives? Nothing much, in my opinion.”
“Okay, I’ll just leave you to it.”
“Oh, and could you tell Pinkie Pie that I added something to her Zord to match her own speed and randomness.”
“I don’t understand why you would want to do that, but I do know it wasn’t a good idea, regardless of having Donald Trump involved or not.” With that, Rarity left the garage.
Nightmare Moon’s fortress…
“Are preparation to retrieve the item done?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Yes, my queen. Shall I send the Bat Soldiers down now to retrieve the item?” asked Hyde.
“Not yet. First we need to draw the Rangers’ attention with a monster.”
“I believe I have a monster that will be sufficient,” says Jackel, holding up a figurine, “Behold, the Mars Fly Trap.”
“Excellent. Hyde send the monster and a troop of Bat Soldiers to distract the Rangers. Then sent a smaller group of Bat Soldiers to retrieve the item from the Canterlot Museum of International History.”
“Yes, my queen.”
A few minutes later, Canterlot…
The Mars Fly Trap is rampaging down Mane Street. And here come the Power Rangers. “Alright, girls,” says Sunset, “It’s morphin’ time!”
A beam of pink light shoots up from Pinkie’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a fairy. Pinkie jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a pink bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a balloon. Pinkie twirls her cape and poses in front of a tornado. “Random as wind, Pink Harmony Ranger!”
A beam of white light shoots up from Rarity’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a unicorn. Rarity jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a white bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a diamond. Pinkie twirls her cape and poses in front of a mountain. “Unbreakable as crystal, White Harmony Ranger!”
A beam of yellow light shoots up from Applejack’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a wolf. Applejack jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a yellow bodysuit appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like an apple. Applejack twirls her cape and poses in front of a giant tree. “Strong as a tree, Yellow Harmony Ranger!”
A beam of blue light shoots up from Rainbow’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a pegasus. Rainbow jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a blue bodysuit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a lightning bolt. Rainbow twirls her cape and poses in front of a thunderstorm. “Fast as lightning, Blue Harmony Ranger!”
A beam of red light shoots up from Sunset’s morpher, making her cutie mark appear in the sky. Down from it comes a shimmering form of a phoenix. Sunset jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a red body suit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a sun. Sunset twirls her cape and poses in front of a setting sun. “Powerful as the sun, Red Harmony Ranger!”
The Rangers pose as an explosion goes off behind them. They then start fighting with the Bat Soldiers.
This goes on for a bit longer than the last two times. The Bat Soldiers are just dodging and not even bothering to attack back.
Hyde watches from a rooftop above. On his face is what I think is a smile, but it also could be constipation. Even I, the narrator, can’t tell. Either way, he’s making sure the Rangers are occupied, because only a few blocks away, the smaller troop of Bat Soldiers are raiding the museum.
Then, out of nowhere, the Indigo Ranger appears at the museum, in a large puff of smoke. “Ladies and Gentlebats, allow me to introduce myself,” said the Indigo Ranger to the Bat Soldiers, “I am the one who will amaze you with a shocking performance.” She pulled a card from a pack, swiped it through a card reader on her arm, and said, “Waat’s up?”
She then threw the card at a Bat Soldier and the card instantly electrocuted it.
The other Bat Soldiers scattered and tried to hide. One hid in an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus, which the Indigo Ranger takes note of.
“For my next trick, I will cut a lucky volunteer in half.”She walks over to the sarcophagus, takes out another card, swipes it, and says, “You saw this coming, didn’t you?” The card transforms into a saw. You can probably guess what happened after that. It wasn’t pretty.
She then turned her attention to the other Bat Soldiers. They were all hiding in the next room. She followed them and started fighting them, occasionally using pulling out a magic card or two. But they were swiftly dealt with.
All but two Bat Soldiers actually. These two Bat Soldiers were in a different part of the museum, taking a stone coffin from its podium and vanishing into thin air.
The two Bat Soldiers reappeared in Nightmare Moon’s fortress.
“We have retrieve it, your majesty,” said one of the Bat Soldiers.
“Excellent.”
Meanwhile, back with the Rangers…
The Mars Fly Trap had grown to a giant size. “Zodor, we need your Zords,” said Sunset into the comm device.
“Already on the way,” Zodor replied.

“I don’t see why not,” said Rarity, pressing a button. From the front of the Megazord’s ambulance foot shot out three missiles. They made impact with the Mars Fly Trap and exploded, damaging the monster.
“Wow, that gives new meaning to the word ‘mistletoe’,” Pinkie remarked.
Next Applejack pressed a button and the Megazord’s helicopter arm extended two rotors which started opening and closing like scissors. The Megazord approached the Mars Fly Trap and cut off one of it’s arms.
But this gave the monster a chance to strike back. It whacked the Megazord with its other arm.
“Looks like it’s time for the big gun,” said Sunset, “Spectrum Cannon ready in three. Two. One. Fire!” They all pressed the Spectrum Cannon button and a beam of rainbow energy fired from the Megazords chest cannon and hit the Mars Fly Trap, obliterating it.
“Booyah!” shouted Rainbow.
“Good job, Rangers,” said Zodor, “ But it seems that was just a distraction.”
“What?!” asked Sunset surprised.
“Ah’m sorry, but did ya just say ‘distraction’?” asked Applejack.
“Afraid so. While you were busy fighting that monster, a small group of Bat Soldiers were breaking into the local museum. As a result, they were able to steal something. An ancient stone coffin. We don’t know anything about this coffin, unfortunately. But it’s not all bad news. Apparently, only two Bat Soldiers escaped the museum. The others were all defeated by the mysterious Indigo Ranger.”
“Indigo Ranger?” asked Sunset, “Is this secret ranger of your’s?”
“Actually, no. I don’t know anything about this Indigo Ranger except that one is not to mess with her. Just watch this.” Zodor played a clip of the Indigo Ranger sawing through a Bat Soldier on a screen. The Rangers were understandably disgusted by the scene.
“Well, that’s going to haunt my dreams,” said Rarity.
“I completely, absolutely, 100% agree,” said Pinkie, “So, who is this Indigo Ranger?”
“Hmm, I honestly couldn’t say, but I have my suspicions. I also have my suspicions about who the Indigo Ranger is working for, if anyone. But that’s not important. The important thing is you get back to base.”
“Alright, we’re on our way,” said Sunset.
Nightmare Moon’s fortress…
“Finally, the Mortem Sporta is mine,” proclaimed Nightmare Moon.
“What do we do now, my queen?” asked Hyde.
“Well isn’t it obvious? We summon my Succubus friend.” With that Nightmare Moon blasted the stone coffin with dark energy and started chanting in a language that I don’t understand. Soon the coffin’s lid shot off of it as a dark figure emerged from it.
The figure was clearly female,had a black dress, bat wings, and eye that burned their way into your soul. She also had an tiara made of obsidian on her head. “Oh Nightmare, must you have summoned me at the time I was about to feast?” she asked.
“I do apologies, Vampress, but I called you here for a reason,” replied Nightmare Moon.
“And what reason would that be?”
“I am planning to bring eternal night to Earth. You will help me.”
“Oh, sure thing, but what’s in it for me?”
“Free range of the planet and as many morsels as you please?”
“I can get behind that. It’s been so long since I’ve had a proper feast, not since World War 2, and even then the morsels were almost inedible, being mostly either the Nazis, who were too rotten for a good meal, or the Jews, who believed in God. As an unholy creature, that isn’t a very good menu.”
“I understand, Vampress. Jackel.
”Yes, my queen?” asked Jackel.
“You are to help Vampress plan our next attack.”
“As you wish.”
Harmony Force Command Center…
“Despite the fact that Nightmare Moon’s Bat Soldiers stole something from the museum, you all did excellent today,” said Zodor.
“Thanks,” said Sunset, “But I have to wonder, why did Nightmare Moon have her Bat Soldiers steal a coffin?”
“Let’s not worry about that now,” suggested Spark, “I have something for your friend Fluttershy.” He gave Sunset a small, bracelet-like device. “This bracelet functions as both a communicator and a teleportation device.”
“Um, why would Fluttershy need this?” Rainbow asked.
“It’s just a precaution, just in case you five are somehow unable to perform your ranger duties, Fluttershy will be called to step in for and/or save you. You can understand why we would want to have backup rangers, right?”
“I guess it makes sense,” said Sunset, “But are you sure Fluttershy would be up to it?”
“Please, who wouldn’t step up to save a friend when they’re in danger?”
“I see your point there. Okay, I’ll give it to her as soon as possible.”
“Very well. Now, Rangers, it’s starting to get late you should be off. Derpy, fire up the teleporter.”

The Nightmare Before Hearth's Warming
Twas the day before Christmas, and all through Canterlot, people were bustling and hustling and celebrating a lot. Okay, enough with the rhymes, because in the Command Center, something was up.
“I simply can not believe this,” said Derpy, “Can you believe this, Spark?”
“Scientifically, this is impossible. But I have a brother who would scare the Incredible Hulk, so who am I to say something's impossible,” answered Spark.
“Derpy, please relax,” said Zodor.
“Okay, but are you sure those are the right coordinates?”
“Yes, I am sure. I have checked the coordinates multiple times already. Call the Rangers. Tell them that it’s an emergency. The fate of all of Christmas rests in their hands.”
“Of course, Zodor.”
Yesterday, Nightmare Moon’s fortress…
“Ugh, all those smiling face. All those bright, Christmas colors. It’s sickening,” says Vampress.
“Well, it is that time of year, Batbrain,” said Hyde.
“What did you just call me?”
“I called you a Batbrain. Got a problem with that?”
“Yes indeed. You’re not much better, Mutt.”
“Oh, so you want to go that far. Well then, prepare to get your wing ripped from your back and shoved down your throat.”
“Ha, I’d like to see you try to-” Vampress wasn’t able to finish because Nightmare Moon interrupted.
“Will you two useless morons be quiet? I can’t think of a plan with you two bickering like that!” she shouted angrily.
“Sorry, my queen,” said Hyde.
“I too apologize,” said Vampress.
“Okay, now I can think.”
“If I may, your majesty,” says Vampress, “Why not take the opportunity to ruin Christmas somehow?”
A wicked, skin-curtling, ear-to-ear smile crept onto Nightmare Moon’s face. Nightmare Moon had gotten an idea, an awful idea. Nightmare Moon got a wonderful, awful idea. “I know what to do. Hyde, prepare your forces to attack.”
“Of course, your majesty. Wait, attack where?”
“Well that’s the best part of the plan, isn’t it? You will be attacking the North Pole.”
“Um, what exactly do you plan to gain by attacking an Arctic wasteland?” asked Vampress.
“Don’t you see, Vampress?” asks Jackel, “Every Christmas, the one and only Santa Claus travels around the world making children happy. If we were to inconvenience Mr. Claus, then he wouldn’t be able to make all those children happy. Ergo, what her majesty is saying is that we kidnap the guy.”
“That’s the plan? The plan is to make children sad? Seriously?”
“Of course, Vampress. Hyde, you strike tonight. Hold on to your mistletoe everyone. This year, Christmas will be our’s! Mwahahahahahaha!”
Present day…
“Thank you for getting here as soon as possible, Rangers,” says Zodor.
“No problem,” says Rainbow, “We here to help aren’t we?”
“Okay, let’s just get to the point. Your assistance is needed at the North Pole,” said Spark.
“Where?” asked Applejack, “Ah’m sorry, ah don’t think ah heard you right. Did ya’ll just say ‘the North Pole’?”
“Actually yes, I did,” answered Spark, “But we will have time for questions later.”
“This is an emergency. You must get to the North Pole, ASAP. Santa Claus need your help,” said Zodor.
“Okay, I’m for it. But just one quick question. How are we supposed to get there?” asked Sunset.
“Well, I had a feeling that that question would be asked sooner or later, so I used my mechanical expertise to make a new Zord This particular Zord has the capacity to carry all of the other Zords at once. I call it the Gigazord. Come check it out.” Spark lead the Rangers to the garage.
The Gigazord was basically just a train with rocket engines on the sides. But it was still cool looking.
Once the Zords were packed into the Gigazord, the Rangers climbed aboard and the Gigazord was off. It sped out of the city using a secret tunnel, which is probably how the other Zords get out of the garage.
The train car the Rangers were in was quite luxurious, so you can assume that Rarity liked it. And you’d be right.
“You see, the Gigazord has enough speed to travel halfway around the world in an hour flat,” explained Spark, “Oh, and did I mention the free wifi? Well, I just did, so enjoy your trip on the Polar Express, Rangers.”
After a pretty boring flight, the Rangers landed in perhaps the jolliest place on Earth, the North Pole. They got off the train and a short, pointy-eared guy came to talk to them. “Hello, you must be the Power Rangers. My name is Bernard, Santa’s head elf.”
“Um, hi. My name is Sunset Shimmer and these are my friends Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity. Oh, and the guy over there is Spark, our team’s mechanic.”
“Nice to meet you all.”
“So could you explain to us why we’re here?” asked Rainbow.
“Certainly. Last night, someone, or something, broke into Santa’s Workshop and kidnapped Santa himself. Without Santa, there’s no presents. And without presents, that means sad children. And I hate it when children are sad. The worst part is that we don’t know who took him.”
“Hmm, I suspect that this is the doing of Nightmare Moon,” said Rarity.
“Logically, yes that makes sense given what you’ve already been through,” said Spark.
“Nightmare Moon, ay? Come with me,” said Bernard.
He lead the Rangers into the workshop. Inside, elves were busy finishing up the last of the preparations for Christmas. Everywhere they looked there were elves, toys, and rolls of colorful wrapping paper.
The Rangers were then lead through a door marked ‘Santa’s Office’.
“Let’s see. Where’s the-ah, there it is. The Naughty List,” Bernard said, picking up a large book, “So, Nightmare Moon. Here we go. According to the Naughty List, ‘Nightmare Moon lives in a fortress on the Moon. Though, it doesn’t have very good defenses, because it’s on the Moon.”
“Mmhmm, so how do we get there? I don’t suppose the Gigazord can go into space. Can it?” asked Rarity.
“Unfortunately, no.” answered Spark.
“Oo, oo, I have an idea!” shouted Pinkie, “We can take Santa’s sleigh.”
“That’s a good idea, Pinkie,” said Bernard, “The sleigh was engineered for high altitudes and low oxygen. It has built in oxygen masks. Plus, the sleigh tachyon-powered, allowing for it to travel at the speed of light. How else would Santa be able to visit every house in the world in one night?”
“Okay, but what if we can’t all fit in the sleigh?” asked Applejack.
“Do you know how big Santa’s sack is? It’s filled with presents for boys and girls all around the world. I’m pretty sure that the sleigh can handle five teenage girls.”
“Well, seems it’s all in order. Let’s do this!” said Rainbow excitedly.
After a half an hour of preparing the sleigh, they took off.
“This is so amazing!” shouted Pinkie, just before the sleigh went supersonic.
Slowly, the sleigh increased in speed. Past mach 2, 3, 4, and you get the point. In what seemed like no time at all, the sleigh was already flying over the moon’s surface.
Then Bernard, who I forget to mention was flying the sleigh, spotted a dark and ominous fortress. Nightmare Moon’s fortress. It wasn’t very big, but it was still impressive.
The sleigh landed not far from it.
“Rangers, you might want to morph now,” suggested Bernard, “There’s no telling what dangers lay inside.”
“Alright. Rangers, it’s morphin’ time!” said Sunset.

Sunset jumps towards her cutie mark and goes through it, making a red body suit-and-skirt appear on her. She landed in front of another cutie mark and her helmet appeared, the visor shaped like a sun. Sunset twirls her cape and poses in front of a setting sun. “Powerful as the sun, Red Harmony Ranger!”
The Rangers approached the fortress. Out of it came several Bat Soldiers, which the Rangers easily beat.
Inside…
“They’re still coming, your majesty,” said Hyde, “Should I sent out a monster?”
“No, let them come. In fact, release the prisoner.”
“What? Why?”
“They have proven themselves as determined and dangerous enemies. They are strong. But they need more practice if they wish to face us. Release the prisoner. Allow them to have a merry little Christmas.”
“Are you sure, my queen?”
“Yes. This is only phase one of my plan. There’s plenty more to it. This is only the beginning.”
“Okay, as you wish.”
Back with the Rangers…
“Ha, this is too easy,” said Rainbow, giving a Bat Soldier a black eye.
“Hey, look!” said Pinkie, pointing towards the fortress’s gate. It was wide open and a troop of Bat Soldiers were escorting Santa outside. Once outside the gate, the Bat Soldiers just unchained Santa and went back inside. The Bat Soldiers the Rangers were fighting also fled.
“Thank you, girls for coming to my rescue,” said Santa.
“No problem, Mr. Claus,” said Pinkie, “Or do you prefer ‘Mr. Kringle’?”
“Just ‘Santa’ will do, Pinkie Pie.”
“You know my name?”
“Well of course, I’m Santa Claus. As the song goes, ‘He see you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake. He know if you’ve bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.’ Did you really not think that I knew your secret? It’s hard to top fighting monsters to protect a city when it comes to being good.”
“Well then. Let’s get going back to Earth. I have a bad feeling about this,” said Sunset.
They all get back on the sleigh and take off.
The next morning, Christmas day…
Fluttershy wakes up and walks out to her living room. As would be expected, there were presents under the tree. But there was one present in particular that stood out more than the rest: a small present covered in green wrapping paper with butterfly print on it.
Since her parents were still asleep, and she couldn’t resist opening, she very quietly unwrapped it. Inside was a bracelet. Fluttershy then read the card that came with it;
“Dear Fluttershy,
You may be wondering why I would give you a bracelet for Christmas. Well the truth is, it’s no ordinary bracelet. Spark programmed this bracelet to double as a communicator and teleportation device, and it is only to be used in emergencies. This is just a precaution, in case of we are unable to do their Ranger duties.

Fluttershy put the bracelet on. She knew that if this had to do with the Rangers, it had to be important. After all, if the Rangers were unable to do their duties, then the world would be in deep trouble.
Later that day, the Command Center…
“It was too easy. They just gave him back,” said Sunset, “I have a terrible feeling about this.”
“Hmm, I suspect that Nightmare Moon has something big planned,” said Zodor, “There’s no way she would give up a prisoner, let alone a Santa Claus, without something big planned.”
“I really don’t want to think about what Nightmare Moon could be planning, but I’ll help in any way I can,” said Derpy.
“Coming through,” said Spark, pulling a large crate.
“‘Fra-gi-le’, it must be Italian,” said Derpy, mispronouncing the words on the crate.
“Actually Derpy, it’s pronounced ‘fra-gile’,” Spark corrected.
“Oh, my bad.”
“Um, Spark, what’s in the box?” asked Sunset.
“Oh, just some new lights for the Command Center. I’ve noticed that the lights have been flickering a lot lately. But this is just so that we’re ready for when the lights fail, which shouldn’t be for a few weeks. Carry on.”
“Okay, that happened.”
“Sunset, I wouldn’t worry about Nightmare Moon right now. It’s Christmas, enjoy yourself,” said Zodor.
“Okay, Zodor. I guess you’re right. Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas.”
Nightmare Moon’s fortress…
“Why must we have released him, my queen? Why?” asked Hyde.
“He served his purpose in the plan; to prove I could take anyone prisoner and not fail. Now we move onto phase 2,” said Nightmare Moon.
“What is phase 2?”
“For now, let’s just say that by the time phase 2 is over, there will be no one left to stop us. Mwahahahaha!”
