Chapters Chapter One - A Sudden Disappearance
Twilight Sparkle almost broke down the door as she rushed inside her home, only skidding to a stop and spinning to face the doorway after she had tossed her school bag in the corner. The door was half ajar, and Twilight knew she couldn’t let that be - It had to be closed. Focusing for a second and shutting her eyes in concentration, she pointed her horn, dug her hooves in a bit on the carpet floor, and, with considerable effort, pushed shut the old wooden door.
“Hi, honey, how was school?” Twilight Velvet asked from two rooms away, working in the kitchen. It was just about the time she always started making dinner - Around five thirty - but Twilight Sparkle had stayed late after classes were over to read in the school Library and had only left when the trove of books shut down for the evening.
This wasn’t unusual. Twilight loved the school library, it contained all kinds of books with incredible facts in them - Even stuff for big fillies, though Twilight had no trouble reading those ones, even the ones for sixth or seventh graders, two whole grades above Twilight’s assigned reading. She would probably spend the whole day at the library if she could, unless of course she had too much homework to get to; homework was almost as much fun as the library. She’d been cuddled up with Smarty Pants reading a new novel by somepony called “A.K. Yearling” that afternoon, and it had been all she could do to put down the book and go home when the librarian reminded her that they were closing up.
Beaming and hopping up and down, Twilight Sparkle nearly shouted with excitement. “I did it, mom! I closed the door, all by myself!”
There was a moment of silence, and then Velvet looked out from the kitchen with a proud smile on her face, beaming at her daughter. “Really?” She asked, trotting over quickly. “Do you think you can do it again, so your ol’ mom can see?”
Nodding enthusiastically, Twilight ran over to the door and pulled it open manually before backing up to shut it again magically. It was actually even easier the second time around, and the door swung shut.
This process - Twilight shutting the door with her magic - had been the result of two weeks effort and practice. Ever since getting into the best private magic academy in Canterlot, her magic had been improving rapidly, but the door was old and heavy and the hinges were a little stiff, and it had taken a lot of practice to get to the point of being able to swing it shut. But she had finally made it, and once the door’s handle clicked shut a second time, Twilight Sparkle really did shout in excitement as she jumped for joy in circles around her mother.
Her mom smiled good naturedly, quietly admonishing, “Inside voices, Twilight.” Then, though, she smiled and laughed loudly herself, adding, “That was very good! Forget making oats for dinner, I think you deserve a little treat. How about daisy pizza?”
Freezing mid jump, Twilight nearly fell to the ground in a heap and only caught herself in the last second, eyes going wide. “Really?” she asked. Pizza was a rare treat, and something as especially unhealthy or delicious as daisy pizza - Twilight’s favorite - was all but unheard of.
“You’ve earned it,” Velvet said, nodding. “Your father will be home soon, the three of us can all go out then.”
“What about Shining Armor?” Twilight asked, a little disappointed that he wasn’t there already to share in her small but significant victory.
“He’s out to see a film with Cadence,” her mom explained, frowning with just a hint of disapproval.
Twilight Sparkle frowned as well, a little confused. Cadence was a wonderful babysitter and friend, but she and her brother had been spending a lot of time together lately as “Special friends”, and Twilight couldn’t yet figure out what was so special about watching bad movies about mushy kissy stuff. Mom had gotten real quiet when Twilight had asked, and her dad had just laughed a little.
“Well… I can still show him myself when he gets back, right?” Twilight asked, perking up a bit. “And Smarty Pants can come, right?”
“Of course,” Velvet replied, though she paused. “Though, don’t you think you’re a little old to be taking a doll out to a restaurant? Maybe Smarty Pants should stay here and watch your books for you.”
Twilight frowned for a second, but then nodded. “You’re right,” she admitted, sighing. “She can still study with me when I get home, though, right? I’m not too old for that?” She didn’t want to lose her favorite study partner, after all.
Twilight Velvet laughed and shook her head. “I don’t think so,” she said. “She can help you study all you’d like. Now go change out of your school uniform, we don’t want you getting pizza sauce all over it.”
Twilight Sparkle beamed.
…
Twilight Sparkle groaned.
She’d eaten more than half a pizza all on her own, which had seemed like a good idea at the time. The walk home, though, had proven that maybe it wasn’t. She was incredibly full, and even the quarter mile from their little home to the nearby pizza place had been a very uncomfortable walk.
“I said that you didn’t need that fifth slice,” Night Light admonished, though it was a mild reproof. Twilight already knew she had eaten too much, she didn’t need any reminding.
“I know,” Twilight pouted, but in spite of the discomfort, it had been really yummy, and everypony who knew her knew that she’d probably do the same next time they went and got some.
Coming in through the back door, though, Twilight found a new spring in her step as she galloped inside excitedly, eager to get to studying. She set the pizza box on the table - She had insisted on being the one to carry the leftovers home home with her magic, to show off her ever improving levitation skills, and she’d only needed her mom to take the weight for a little bit of the walk - and then all but ran to the living room to grab her school bag. They were studying the Water Cycle in school, and it was fascinating to read about how the Pegasi managed the weather to keep Equestria running properly.
“Thanks for dinner, mom!” She called, grabbing her bag with a hoof and hurtling up the stairs to her bedroom. She and Smarty Pants had all kinds of exciting homework to get to, and nothing was going to keep her from it.
Closing the door to her room, she dumped out her book bag, grabbed the appropriate books along with a stack of homework paper and a quill, and then reached for Smarty Pants.
She wasn’t there.
Frowning, Twilight Sparkle checked under a couple books, and then stuck her foreleg in the bag to feel around, but no doll presented itself. She tried upturning the bag again, but that too provided unhelpful results.
Thinking that maybe he had fallen out of her bag, Twilight set her books aside and headed back down the stairs, looking around the living room. “Mom? Have you seen Smarty Pants?” She asked, when that search turned up nothing as well.
Velvet was coming back in through the front door, holding a yellow package and looking at it with curiosity. “No, sweetie, I haven’t…” she said, before turning over the package and reading something there. “Oh! It looks like you got a little letter from one of your friends at school!”
Twilight Sparkle was a little surprised by that, but accepted the package and read the note on the outside when her mom handed it to her.
FOR: Twilight Sparkle
TOP SECRET
(Nopony read this but Twilight!)
“Who’s it from?” Velvet asked, curiously.
“I’m not sure,” Twilight said, flipping over the package. There was no writing on the other side, just a bunch of scotch tape keeping the package together. Whatever was in it, it felt rectangular, thick, and a little flexible. It might have been a paperback book, but it felt too soft for that, and if it was a folded up shirt it was too small. “I guess I’ll go open it?”
Her mom nodded, knowingly. “I won’t pry, if it’s supposed to be ‘A secret’,” she promised, smiling.
Twilight Sparkle, still a little concerned about Smarty Pants but now distracted by the package, trotted back upstairs and shut her door behind her, popping off all the tape and dumping out the package’s contents. A couple things slid out, but the first thing that Twilight noticed was a polaroid photograph with writing on the backside.
She picked it up, and then gasped and nearly dropped the photo when she realized it was a picture of Smarty Pants, lying on a table next to a pair of sewing scissors. Anxiously flipping the picture over, she read the careful and neat printed hoofwriting on the back, done in some kind of black marker that smelled like licorice.
We have your doll!
If you ever want to get it back, you’ll come to School tomorrow wearing this. Don’t even think about telling your parents. If we find out that you tattled on us to anypony, the doll is toast.
Twilight gulped and set down the photo, confused. Wear what? Did they want her to pin the photograph to her school uniform or something?
Then, the second object in the package caught her eye, and she picked it up and turned it over in her hooves. It was soft and white, felt plasticy and smooth to the touch, and after turning it over and partially unfolding the material, Twilight finally realized what it was.
“A… Diaper?”
The night had been a terrible time of tossing and turning for Twilight, who found that she couldn’t get to sleep. As excited as she’d been to get to studying, she’d been unable to actually focus on the books in front of her eyes. She’d tried retrieving a different doll from her closet, but reading with Mr. Elephant just hadn’t been the same. When her mom finally came in and said it was time for her to go to bed, Twilight couldn’t remember a thing she’d read. She’d brushed her teeth and crawled into bed miserably, missing her favorite study buddy and hoping that she’d think of a way to get him back the next day without having to wear the diaper.
She did finally manage to sleep, but by the time she was actually snoring on her pillow, the birds outside were starting to chirp, and not long after her alarm was starting to buzz - Something she totally missed.
Twilight only woke up when her mom came in and shook her awake, saying, “Twilight. Twilight! You’re going to be late for school!”
That woke Twilight up, and she jolted up shouting, “I’m awake!” Looking at her clock, she saw it was nearly eight - It was a fifteen minute walk to school, which started at eight thirty, so she’d barely have time to get ready and go.
Frowning, Twilight Velvet said, “Are you okay, sweetie? You look a little…”
“I didn’t sleep too well,” Twilight said, quickly. It was true, after all, and she couldn’t have her mom thinking she was sick. If Twilight Velvet thought that her daughter was sick, that would mean staying home from school, which was terrible any day but especially bad on the day she needed to rescue Smarty Pants.
Hopping out of bed, Twilight Sparkle put on a smile and tried to look cheerful and energetic. “I’m fine! Let me just get dressed and I’ll be ready to go.”
Velvet frowned in motherly concern, but then nodded, turned to walk towards the door, and said, “I’ll go make you some cereal. Don’t take too long, now.”
“I won’t!” Twilight said, speeding around and past her mother to get to the bathroom across the hall, so she could brush her teeth. She’d normally take her time, wash up a bit, use the toilet, but in the hurry she was in, she decided that her usual procedure for getting ready could be thrown out the window, and she just hurriedly brushed her teeth, gargled a bit of sink water, and ran back to her room to get dressed.
The diaper almost made her late by itself. She’d briefly glanced at it last night, before tucking it under her bed so her family wouldn’t see, but she’d not taken the time to figure out how to put it on. The darn thing didn’t go on like a skirt or pants, and figuring out which way it was supposed to face and then pulling it on took several minutes longer than it should have. She lacked foal powder, but that wasn’t something that Twilight really noticed.
Tugging her tail through the little hole available, she got to her hooves, wobbling a bit as she compensated for the extra bulk between her hind legs, and then she got dressed in the rest of her school uniform.
While the diaper certainly wasn’t made to be discreet, the plaid skirt on Twilight’s uniform mostly managed to cover up the white padding. Mostly. If anypony was looking for it they’d spot it in a heartbeat, but Twilight hoped she could keep her back to a wall or stay sitting down whenever possible. There was nothing to do for the soft plasticy crinkle it made when she moved around, but that would hopefully be covered up by the hustle and bustle of schoolfillies going about their business.
All dressed, with her diaper covered up as much as ponily possible, Twilight shouldered her backpack, made sure she wasn’t forgetting anything, and hurried downstairs.
Night Light had already left for work, going in a little early that morning, but Shining Armor was finishing up a bowl of oat cereal as Twilight Sparkle hurried into the kitchen, hopping up onto a chair in one leap and grabbing a spoon so she could down her own bowl.
“Peanut Butter and Jelly for lunch,” Twilight Velvet said, setting a little brown bag on the table with ‘Twilight Sparkle’ written on it in blue marker.
Twilight Sparkle didn’t respond, too busy downing the cereal to answer, but once she finished the bowl (In record time, too,) she grabbed the bag and hopped off the chair, saying, “Thanks mom! See you later!” Then, she took off for school, disappearing out the back door at a full sprint.
Twilight Velvet smiled, sighing contentedly. “They grow up so fast,” she commented to nopony in particular, though Shining Armor made a noise of acknowledgement as he rinsed his own cereal bowl in the sink and started walking to leave. Velvet continued, nostalgically. “Today she’s running off to school, learning all kinds of new magic, but it seems like just yesterday she was still in diapers.”
“Yeah, sure mom,” Shining Armor said, not really paying attention as he, too, headed out to school. Of course, there was no irony to her statement at all. None. At all. Really.
...
It wasn’t a long walk to school, but with the obtrusive diaper between Twilight’s legs making her waddle and announcing its presence with a noisy crinkle, Twilight felt the full length of the walk. She was glad she didn’t run into any other students on the way, but that was only a small consolation. The Canterlot suburb had plenty of people out and about in the morning heading to work, running errands, going to school themselves, but most schoolfillies her age had already left so that they wouldn’t be late.
Arriving at the big brick building which constituted the private school’s campus, Twilight hesitated, her horn glowing for a moment as she tugged the back of her skirt down a little to help cover up the bulky padding. It was either go in now or else find a dumpster out back, toss the diaper, be late for class, and probably never see Smarty Pants again.
Swallowing, she made sure nopony was walking behind her and trotted up to the schoolhouse, holding her bookbag tight. The schoolhouse doors were well oiled and lighter than her door at home, so she’d never had any trouble pushing it open or shut with her magic, but she was so distracted that she nearly walked straight into the schoolhouse door anyways, only stopping and hesitating at the last second, horn glowing again as she pushed open the door and strolled inside.
The clock on the wall let Twilight know she only had five minutes to get to class, which was way less time than she wanted. She liked to get to class ten minutes early, organize her notes, and review the reading material and her homework before it started, not show up with only a couple minutes to spare.
Hurrying to her locker, she stored most of her books, saving only the one on magical theory that she needed for first period. Turning to hurry down the hall, she tried not to run - It made her waddle more pronounced, and it was against the rules. She wanted to join the Hall Monitors once she was old enough, no reason to get on their bad side.
As she passed the Fillies’ room, though, a filly she didn’t recognize suddenly stopped in front of her, spinning so that she was almost nose to nose with Twilight. She was bigger than Twilight, maybe a grade above her, with a white coat and blue mane, though her cutie mark was concealed beneath the plaid school uniform, just like everypony else’s. (That was intentional, the School’s stance was that it fostered unhealthy competition.)
“Inside,” the filly commented, pushing open the bathroom door with a hoof, rather than her horn. “Now.”
Twilight froze, glancing to the side, but nopony else in the hall seemed not to care or notice.
“If you want your stupid doll back, you’ll hurry up,” The filly repeated, frowning.
Nodding quickly, Twilight said, “Uh… Okay,” and stepped inside, hearing the door shut behind her as the filly followed her in.
Two other fillies were waiting inside, a pink and purple pony Twilight barely recognized, and one of Twilight’s classmates from third period, a filly with a pale green coat and dark brown mane.
“Oh my gosh, she actually wore it!” The white filly behind Twilight giggled, lifting the back of Twilight’s skirt with her hoof so she could get a clear view of the diaper.
“Seriously? Let me see!” The pink one said, leaning to her left so she could peek at Twilight’s backside and see the white padding peeking out. That filly laughed, and the green pony smirked a bit, though she at least declined to comment.
“That means I won the bet, Trust,” The white filly added, smirking as Twilight pulled away, backing up against a stall door.
Twilight finally remembered why she recognized the pink filly, her name was Trust Fund, her dad had donated a bunch of money to the school and given a big speech on the first day about the importance of education. “Nuh-uh,” Trust Fund said, after a minute. “You said she’d do anything for the doll, Top Line, all she’s done is wear the diaper.”
“You have Smarty Pants?” Twilight asked, hopefully, noting that the white pony was apparently named Top Line. “Can I have her back?”
“She’s in my locker,” the green filly said, answering Twilight’s first question. “But I’m not supposed to give her-”
“Shut up, Obsequity,” Top Line said, rolling her eyes as she looked at Twilight. “So what’re you saying, Trust?”
“That I bet by the end of the day we can get her to give up,” Trust Fund said, smirking as she took a step closer to Twilight.
Twilight glanced away, not wanting to hold eye contact with any of them for too long, holding her book close to her chest in an unconscious defensive gesture. “I… We’re going to be late for class. Can I please have Smarty Pants back?”
Trust Fund shook her head, smirking and giggling as Twilight blushed. “Let me see the diaper,” she said, making a motion with her hoof so Twilight would turn around. Twilight obeyed, and after a gesture from Trust Fund, the other two fillies crowded around, giggling. Trust fund prodded the padding with a foreleg, making it crinkle which in turn made Twilight blush and shy away.
“I told you, she’s a pushover,” Top Line said, snickering. “And a huge foal, too, I mean who else plays with her dolls once they’re her age?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Trust Fund replied, apparently satisfied with what she saw. “Well then, if you want your stupid doll back, you’ll wear that diaper for the rest of the school day. Between the three of us, we’re in pretty much all your classes, so we’ll notice if you cheat. If you take it off, even for a minute, your doll is toast.”
Twilight made a squeaky noise, paling. How was she supposed to wear the diaper all day? Everypony would see! Worse, she had to pee, and she wasn’t sure if she could pull the diaper around her ankles to use the bathroom and pull it back in place properly.
Then, before she could ask anymore questions, the bell rang. All four fillies in the bathroom looked up at the sudden noise, then at each other, realizing that they were all going to get in trouble if they didn’t hoof it to class. They all galloped out the door and scurried to class, leaving Twilight in the dust as she tried her best to run with the fluffy bulk between her hind legs.
Smarty Pants stolen, wearing a diaper to school, and now she was going to be late to class.
Worst. Day. Ever.
“I’m here!” Twilight shouted, skidding into the classroom at top speed, out of breath and silently praying that she wasn’t too late.
Her teacher, an older gray mare named Long Division, looked over to Twilight from her desk, peering down her spectacles. “Twilight Sparkle, I never thought you’d be the one to show up late,” she tssked.
“I am so sorry,” Twilight said, blushing. “I was-”
“It’s fine, dear,” the teacher said. “Just don’t make a habit of this. I’d hate to see one of our best students turn into a slacker.”
“I promise,” Twilight said, nodding quickly and turning to trot to her seat.
To her continued annoyance, her desk was not in the front row of class, but rather the second. It had been randomly assigned, and as much as she had begged to switch places with somepony in the front row, her teacher had been firm, saying that if Twilight got to switch, everyone would want to, and it would become a huge hassle.
Sitting down, Twilight heard some giggles and looked over her shoulder to see Trust Fund a few rows behind her, whispering to some other fillies Twilight didn’t recognize. She wasn’t sure, but they all seemed to be looking her way, at least until their teacher ‘A-hem’ed and got them to stop snickering.
Normally, this would have been the highlight of Twilight’s day, but as the minutes ticked by and her teacher started lecturing, she found that she simply couldn’t focus. The desk chairs were never all that comfortable to begin with, but with a couple inches of slick padding between her rump and the seat, she found it impossible to sit still, fidgeting and shifting like she’d had too much sugar for breakfast in an attempt to keep the diaper from shifting beneath her, making quiet little crinkly noises that she hoped would go unnoticed.
She found herself staring at the clock, watching seconds tick by. She was in the classroom until lunch break, then off to the gym for PE, then back for the rest of the day. After that, she’d usually get lost in the library until they closed for the day, and then home, but Twilight planned on skipping the library visit on account of the extenuating circumstances.
On a normal day, Twilight would wait until Lunch to use the bathroom, then go again after PE, then be good until she got home. On a normal day, though, she would have gone in the morning before she left home, instead of spending ten minutes struggling to put on a diaper and then sprinting out the door.
Twilight expected that she would be able to hold of for a considerable amount of time, though exactly how long she couldn’t guess. She had drank two glasses of water the night before, and then there was the milk in the cereal and the glass of orange juice she had for breakfast. That was about 1000ml, give or take. Assuming an average digestion rate of-
“Twilight?” Long Division asked, her tone harsh. “Are you paying attention?”
“Yes, ma’am!” Twilight said, quickly.
“Good,” her teacher said. “Then you wouldn’t mind coming up to solve this problem.”
“Yes… ma’am…” Twilight said, less enthusiastically. She looked to the board, reading the equation listed. It was a simple enough magical formula, it appeared to be for heavy lifting, though without context Twilight couldn’t be sure what she was supposed to be calculating, which would make things tricky.
She heard snickers as she made it to the front of the classroom and, realizing that her skirt had started to ride up as she squirmed at her desk chair, quickly pulled it down with a tug of magic. The teacher hadn’t seen, yet, and hopefully the other students hadn’t been looking.
Grabbing the chalk, Twilight stared at the equation, trying to guess what it was. If it was just lifting a heavy object, it would be easy, but if she assumed that and guessed wrong, then she would totally blow the math.
“I…” She stammered, looking around for some kind of clue, but all that was written on the chalkboard was the equation, no clue as to what it was for. She heard more snickers and blushed.
“Maybe you should go sit down,” her teacher said. “And pay a little more attention next time.”
Defeated, Twilight turned to waddle back to her desk, embarassed at least as much about failing to solve the problem as she was about her diaper. Slumping back into her seat, she had about five seconds of respite as her teacher went back into a lecture on - Darn it, it was just lifting a heavy object - when something hit her on the back of the head.
Looking up, Twilight Sparkle made sure that Ms. Division wasn’t watching, then turned around to see Trust Fund snickering. Looking down, then, she saw a crumpled up ball of paper and quietly grabbed it, eying their teacher to make sure they weren’t being watched, then unfolding the paper to see what it was.
As it turned out, Trust Fund was surprisingly good at sketches. The drawing was one of Twilight herself, though instead of wearing her school uniform she was wearing nothing but a bib, bonnet, and of course, the diaper. She was drawn so that she was sitting on the ground and crying, with obvious green stink lines - the only color highlights - drawn in crayon all around her.
Twilight blushed, crumpling up the drawing and shoving it in her desk before anypony else noticed, and then looking over her shoulder to glare at Trust Fund.
“Twilight Sparkle! What did I just say?” Her teacher called, making Twilight whip around to face her teacher, her expression one of mortification.
“I… Uh…” Twilight mumbled. “I don’t know, ma’am,” she admitted.
“If I catch you goofing off again, you’ll be sent to the principal’s office,” she said, her tone harsh enough to make Twilight shrink back in her seat.
“Sorry!” She squeaked, sitting rapt at attention.
“That’s better. Now, if you’ll all remember from last week…”
Twilight managed to ignore most of the giggling after that and, to her relief, no more embarrassing drawings came her way. Trust Fund probably was just playing it safe, not wanting to be seen passing notes, but it was a relief either way.
What Twilight couldn’t stop, though, was the constant building pressure growing in her bladder, a reminder that she hadn’t had a chance to pee since the night before. As minutes slipped by, her fidgeting and squirming returned, this time trying to find a way to sit that would relieve a bit of the pressure. She made sure to keep listening to her teacher drone on, far less interesting than she usually was, but even before the clock ticked into 11, she knew she wasn’t going to make it to the lunch break, much less the whole school day.
“Ms. Division!” Twilight said, feeling a wave of defeat wash over her. “I… May I have a hall pass?” She could get Smarty Pants back another way, she wasn’t going to pee herself, not when she was sure every other student in the classroom was watching her.
“Twilight Sparkle, you have been nothing but a disruption today,” their teacher said, her tone disapproving. “If you wanted to go to the bathroom, you should have gone before class started. You can hold it another hour.”
Twilight gulped. “Please? I promise-”
“No,” Long Division said, firmly. “You will wait until the end of the class.”
Trying to think of another protest, Twilight quickly realized there was nothing she could say. Ms. Division wasn’t known for her lenience towards students, and if she’d said no once, she wasn’t about to change her mind. Besides-
Another ball of paper hit her head, and Twilight cautiously checked to make sure the teacher’s back was turned before she grabbed it and unfolded the sketch.
It was a drawing of Smarty Pants this time, except that his head had been ripped off and all the stuffing torn out, drawn on the paper with big swirly loops of pencil. At the bottom, in block letters, Trust Fund had written ‘Giving up, crybaby?’
Twilight crumpled up the drawing and tossed it in her desk next to the first one, not daring to look back and glare in case the teacher saw. The drawing at least distracted her from the growing need to get to a bathroom, or…
Nope. Nope. Not gonna have an accident, Twilight thought, but deep down she wondered if she could make it.
Another note tapped her on the back of the head, and she stealthily retrieved it, unfolding it. It was just a note this time, no sketch.
‘If you don’t pee your pants before lunch, crybaby, I’ll set your stupid doll on fire.’
Blanching, Twilight nearly turned to throw the paper back at Trust Fund, but she noticed that their teacher was turning back to the class and so just stuffed it into her desk and tried to look interested.
She knew in her head that she probably couldn’t make it until the end of the class anyways, but… Now, if she had an accident, it would look intentional. Even if she tried to explain that it was really an accident, as far as Trust Fund and the others were concerned, she would have wet a diaper on purpose, in the middle of class, to get Smarty Pants back.
Nope, Twilight thought. Definitely not going to happen. I’ll just have to hold it.
For another hour...
Twilight was counting seconds, watching the clock on the wall with an intensity and focus normally reserved for homework. She made sure to keep an eye on her teacher as well, in case she was called upon by surprise, but her thoughts were all centered around the steady tick-tick-tick of the second hand.
It seemed to be moving slower than normal, each tick of the clock taking what should have been several seconds by Twilight’s estimation. The crumpled up notes from Trust Fund had stopped, but the increasing discomfort from holding it had made her more uncomfortable than ever.
Twilight steeled herself, though, closing her legs as tightly as she could manage in spite of the bulky padding keeping them apart, trying to focus on dry thoughts, and generally doing everything in her power to make it until the end of class. It was one thing to wear a diaper to school, but Trust Fund and her bully friends were *not* going to have any reason to think that Twilight would wet a diaper on purpose just because they said so.
That was the real problem: It didn’t matter if Twilight could hold it until the end of class or not, if she had an accident then Trust Fund would think that Twilight had done it because she was told to.
As the seconds slipped by, Twilight found herself regretting the third and fourth refills of soda pop she’d drank last night. In fact, the whole celebratory family night out was quickly turning into a sour note in her memory. If she’d just found the package sooner, figured out what was going on with more time, she could have figured out a way to get Smarty Pants back without any of this. Or, at the very least, she could have made a note to remember bathroom before leaving for school that morning. Instead, she’d eaten nearly a whole pizza and been caught totally unprepared.
Squirming at her desk, she ignored the giggles she heard from two rows back and tried to focus on the lesson. She just had to hold out a little longer, make it until-
BBBRRRRINNGGG!
The bell caught her off guard so much that Twilight nearly lost control right then and there. She had made it!
Her teacher finished her statement, then said, “Alright, students, class dismis-”
Twilight was out the door in two seconds flat, nearly tripping as she galloped full-tilt down the hall towards the nearest fillies room. She didn’t look back, she wasn’t even sure if her skirt had stayed pulled down over the diaper, but all that was a distant secondary concern to her number one problem.
Screeching to a halt in the still-mostly-empty hallway, Twilight slammed open the door to the bathroom, a little concerned that she wouldn’t even be able to get the diaper off in time.
The door shut behind her and she ran to the first stall, pushing on it. Locked.
“Come on…” Twilight whimpered, trying the second stall door. Locked again. Crossing her hoof, she tried the last door, sure that at least one of them had to be- Locked.
“We had a feeling you might show up here,” a voice came from behind Twilight, standing behind the door, making Twilight twirl around in surprise and nearly lose control right then and there. It was the white filly, Top Line, and the third pony in the trio of bullies, Obsequity, “Our class got out a minute early, so I asked Obsequity crawl under the doors and unlock ‘em. You weren’t thinking about cheating, were you?”
Twilight stamped a hoof on the bathroom’s tile floor, though all the faux-determination in the world couldn’t hide her crossed and shaking hind legs, nor her furtive glances to the bathroom door. “I am done with your stupid threats! Give me back Smarty Pants!”
“Not likely,” Top Line said, rolling her eyes, horn glowing as she locked the door. “You know the rules of our little deal, and I think it’s pretty obvious that you’d do anything to get that stupid doll back. So you’re going to turn around and trot out of here, or give up and sentance poor little Smiley Pants to a date with a paper shredder.”
Twilight wavered, hesitant. She didn’t want to lose Smarty Pants, but giving in to Top Line’s demands was looking less and less favorable. There was one option, though - She couldn’t prove anything, but Obsequity had mentioned that she had the doll. If she told on her, then she could hopefully get Smarty Pants back through the Principal, and she wouldn’t have to so much as dribble into the diaper.
Taking a confident step forward, seeing Top Line’s eyes widen in surprise, Twilight said, “No, I-”
There was a noise at the door, and then a familiar voice. “It’s me! Let me in!”
Top Line frowned and looked away from Twilight, unlocking the door for a second so that Trust Fund could come in, then shutting it before anyone else could interrupt them.
“You didn’t do what I said!” Trust Fund shouted, stalking towards Twilight with a glare. “Nobody doesn’t do what I say!”
“What?” Top Line asked, raising an eyebrow.
Wheeling on her, Trust Fund continued to shout. “I told this stupid baby to pee herself in class, and she didn’t!”
Twilight straightened, shaking it off. This didn’t matter, after all. “I don’t care what you say,” She said, taking a step towards the stall door, intending to crawl under it. “I’m done with-”
“The bet’s off!” Trust Fund shouted, whirling on Twilight and quickly stepping between her and the bathroom door. Her glare shot invisible daggers.
“No fair!” Top Line complained. “She-”
“I don’t care!” Trust Fund said. “I forfeit, whatever. We’re going to teach this stupid baby a lesson.”
Twilight tried to sidestep, but she was less agile than usual between the bulky diaper and the nearly unstoppable pressure from her bladder, and Trust Fund easily kept her from running under a stall door. “Let me through!”
“Not a chance, baby,” Trust Fund said, her horn starting to glow. “This is what you get for being an upstart little snot.”
Twilight’s eyes widened, thinking that Trust Fund was going to attack her. She hesitated and took a step backwards… Tripping immediately against the magical barrier Trust Fund had made behind Twilight’s hind legs.
Landing on her hindquarters and rolling backwards, Twilight ended up on her back, hind legs splayed awkwardly with her skirt flipped forward and bunched around her midsection, leaving her diaper completely exposed just as the combined pressure and stress of the fall made her lose the fight for a dry diaper.
At first, Twilight just felt the pressure on her bladder start to dissipate, and for a half second she was glad, though that vanished the moment she realized what it meant. Her diaper soaked up the pee almost instantly, but that did nothing to keep her from feeling the padding grow warm, soggy, and notably heavier as the seconds slipped by.
The room was almost completely silent, except for Trust Fund’s heavy, angry breathing and the hiss and pitter-patter as Twilight soaked her diaper. She was frozen by fear and humiliation, simply laying on her back, not able to even try and cover up her diaper. It didn’t take long for the white material to stain yellow, and after half a minute, most of the visible padding was obviously soaked full.
Trust Fund grinned a broad, sinister smile, not caring in the slightest about the faint stale odor. “Don’t you dare move,” she warned, taking two steps over to Top Line and Obsequity.
Twilight couldn’t hear what they were whispering, and she didn’t much care. She was mortified by embarrassment. She hadn’t just had an accident, she’d totally soaked her diaper and given them a front line view. So much for her stand for independence and not caring what they threatened, she’d just proven herself effectively helpless. Her diaper felt hot and a little sticky, the urine-laden padding clinging to her behind and making it impossible to think of anything else, an unforgettable reminder of what had just happened.
The trio of bullies broke up, and Trust Fund stalked back over to Twilight, looming over her. “Get up, baby ,” putting special emphasis on the last word. “We’ve got a new plan. You’re going to walk out of this bathroom and go to lunch, and then you’ll head back to class like nothing at all happened. You are going to wear your pissy diaper for the rest of the day.”
Weakly, Twilight tried to protest. “You… You can’t make me!” She said. “I’ll tell the principal!”
“And we’ll deny it, and he’ll call both our parents, and my daddy will make sure the principal understands who’s more important to the school,” Top Line interjected. “Nobody cares about you. We are important.”
“Besides, baby ,” Trust Fund cut in. “We’re going to be following you around all day. If you so much as think about taking off your baby diapers, we’ll make sure you ‘Accidentally trip’ and give the whole school the same view we just got. Everyone will know you’re the little diaper baby who wears diapers to school, like a baby.”
Twilight nearly pointed out the redundancy, but then thought better. Rolling onto her belly, she pulled down her skirt and started getting to her hooves.
Pausing, Top Line added, “Oh, and crawl under the stall doors to unlock them real quick. Obsequity’s uniform doesn’t need to get any more dirty.”
Twilight waddled out of the bathroom more quickly than she would have liked, forced forward by the two ponies flanking her on each side and with the third of the trio trailing behind them. The hallway was pretty crowded with other schoolfillies, scurrying to their lockers to drop off books before heading to lunch.
“Keep an eye on her,” Trust Fund commented to Obsequity. “Me and Top Line’ll meet you in the cafeteria.”
Words came unbidden to Twilight’s mouth, and she said, “Top Line and I.”
“What?” Trust Fund said, turning an angry glare to Twilight.
“Um…” Twilight said, realizing she should have kept her mouth shut. “Well, it’s ‘Top Line and I’, not ‘Me and Top Line’. You see-”
“Shut up,” Trust Fund said, turning her glare to a nuetral expression as she looked back to Obsequity. “Keep an eye on her, Top Line and I will meet you in the cafeteria. Go straight there, I don’t want her coming up with anything and sneaking off.” Obsequity nodded compliantly, but didn’t comment.
“And remember,” Top Line added, looking at Twilight. “Try anything, your skirt will mysteriously get yanked around your hooves.”
Twilight nodded, glancing around the hallway in hopes that someone had heard Top Line’s comment. It seemed either nobody noticed or cared, though, because everypony continued with their own business.
The two bullies walked off down the hallway, leaving Twilight with Obsequity, standing next to each other awkwardly.
“Um, let’s go, I guess…” Obsequity said, glancing around, looking almost as awkward as Twilight felt.
“I need to get my lunch from my locker,” Twilight said, trying to keep her hind legs from shaking. She was standing more bow-legged than ever, with her back to the wall by the door so that nopony would have a chance at seeing underneath her skirt.
Obsequity hesitated, frowning. “You eat a bag lunch?”
“Yeah.” Nodding, Twilight looked down the hall. “It’s just that way.”
“Trust Fund’ll be pissed if I don’t go straight to the cafeteria, though…” Obsequity said, frowning. “Uh, I’ll, I guess I’ll just get it for you?”
Twilight frowned, though for once it was from confusion, not anger or embarrassment. “Really?”
“Sure, I guess,” Obsequity said, shrugging. “It’s pizza day, I think.”
Twilight brightened at that. Even though she was still full from the enormous portions of pizza she’d had the night before, she could always go for more. “That’s… Really nice, actually,” She said, surprised.
“Well, I mean, it’s just… Sure, yeah, you’re welcome,” Obsequity conceded, shrugging as she turned towards the cafeteria, stopping after a couple steps and looking back over her shoulder. “You coming?”
Twilight paused, shying away and keeping her back to the wall. “Um…” She said. “Well…” She knew that once she started walking, there’d only be so much she could do to keep anypony from noticing. She could only tug her skirt down so far, and there were a lot of prying eyes who might notice her soaked diaper.
“Come on,” Obsequity said. “If we just wait around here, Trust Fund will kill you. And me, too, probably.” That made Twilight take an anxious step forward, though she still wasn’t sure. Frowning, Obsequity added, “You still want your doll back, right?”
Nodding sheepishly, Twilight trotted away from the wall, feeling like everypony was staring at her. Surely they had to notice something was up, right? She felt like a foal, her waddle had to be noticeable, and how come nopony was wrinkling up their nose? They could smell her, right?
“It’s really not that noticeable,” Obsequity commented, as they started moving down the hall. “I mean, unless you, y’know, know.”
“I doubt it,” Twilight said. As much as she could feel the bulk and weight of her diaper, she didn’t know if flashing neon could have made it apparent.
And yet… The other schoolfillies didn’t seem to notice, or else they just didn’t react. If anything, they seemed to notice Twilight’s furious blush and furtive looks at anypony she passed, but that was it.
“Really, don’t worry about it,” Obsequity said again. “Unless somepony was standing right behind you for a while, I doubt they’d, uh…”
They’d arrived at the cafeteria, and she’d noticed the line almost out the door.
“Oh,” she said, frowning. “Right.”
Her blush deepening, Twilight looked around for an alternative, but didn’t see one. “Can I just go wait at a table or something? I don’t want to stand in that line.”
“I don’t think so,” Obsequity said, and Twilight’s heart sank.
This was, of course, probably what the bullies had in mind. They wanted her to be humiliated, and if she had to stand in line to get her lunch, there’d be no way that at least a few other students would notice her soaked diaper.
“Let’s… Just get this over with,” Twilight said, lip trembling a bit. She wasn’t going to cry, that would just draw more attention, but she still felt horrible. She was going to be a laughingstock, she-
“What? No!” Obsequity said. “I meant we could cut in line.”
Twilight blinked. “I- What?”
“Perks of my friends,” the other pony said, walking into the cafeteria. “Just follow me.”
Unsure what else to do, Twilight trailed behind, walking behind Obsequity to the front of the line. At the front there was an orange pony with a red-orange mane that Twilight didn’t recognize. She looked like she was a grade up, though, or at least a little older than Twilight.
Regardless, Obsequity pushed in front of her. “Move it, I’m hungry,” She said. Then, quietly, to Twilight. “Just go in front of me.”
“Hey!” The orange filly protested. “You’re supposed to wait, like everypony else!”
“Yeah, whatever,” Obsequity said, her voice more of a sneer than anything Twilight had heard from her all day. “I’m holding a spot for Trust Fund and Top Line.”
The filly frowned, but notably shrank back. “Whatever,” She said, rolling her eyes.
Obsequity turned back to Twilight, then noticed Twilight was looking at another student, a blue filly two spots behind them, who was staring at Twilight’s skirt with a confused look.
“What’re you looking at?” Obsequity snarled at her, and the filly immediately looked away. Obsequity grabbed a lunch tray, then nudged Twilight to do the same.
The lunch lady apparently didn’t care about the drama, because she just gave them each a slice of pizza and a scoop of mixed veggies. Obsequity had both trays put on her lunch card, and in only a few moments they were trotting towards their table.
Twilight winced at the squish of her diaper when she sat down, but to her surprise she was already getting kind of used to it. Besides, something else was bothering her. “How did you do that?”
“My friends kind of always get their way around here,” Obsequity said, shrugging. “If you ever pulled your muzzle out of a book and looked around, you’d know that.” Then, having a thought, she added, “I guess they’re making sure you know that anyways, though.”
“So… You just have to mention them and anypony will roll over?” Twilight asked.
“Yeah, usually,” Obsequity admitted. “I don’t really like to push anypony around, but you seemed like you could use a little help.”
“Well… Thanks,” Twilight said, unsure how she felt about thanking anypony who had helped blackmail her.
“Really, my friends aren’t as bad as they seem either,” Obsequity continued, shrugging. “I know they seem like jerks, but they’re really not.”
Twilight snorted. “They really are.” She immediately regretted it, worried that she might get in trouble for the comment. “I mean, uh, I guess you know them better.”
Obsequity shrugged a concession, taking a bite of pizza before replying. “Oh, I know they can seem kinda mean, and sometimes they are, but they’re really nice once you get to know them. You know all the new schoolbooks we got this year? That’s ‘cause Trust Fund asked her dad to donate ‘em.”
“That doesn’t make them any better,” Twilight said. “Doing once nice thing doesn’t mean they’re not jerks.”
“They do other stuff, too,” Obsequity said, defensively. “That was just one example. And usually when they are mean, it’s to help somepony else out. Besides, you totally blew off Trust Fund a couple weeks ago, that wasn’t cool either.”
“What?” Twilight asked, frowning.
“It was on a Tuesday, I think?” Obsequity said. “She’d just found out you were here ‘cause you were so good with magic that you impressed Celestia, so she thought she’d ask you for help since- Uh, I mean, she wanted to see if you wanted to hang out, but you totally blew her off!”
Twilight frowned, trying to remember what Obsequity was talking about. She remembered a few weeks ago, somepony had bothered her while she was reading in the library with Smarty Pants, they’d been pestering her for a copy of her class notes, but she couldn’t remember who it was. “I never-”
“You’re in my spot, baby ,” Trust Fund sneered, cutting Twilight off before she could finish. “No, don’t get up, you probably left a puddle.”
Snickering, Top Line sat down across the table, next to Obsequity, while Trust Fund sat down right next to Twilight, slamming down two open cartons of milk in front of her.
“Drink ‘em,” Trust Fund said. “And your water, too.”
“What?” Twilight asked.
“Trust Fund says it was hilarious watching you squirm in class this morning,” Top Line said. “I wanted to see what she was talking about. If you’re really lucky, your diaper won’t leak. If not, it’ll be even more hilarious when you wet yourself in class again. Either way, drink up.”
Twilight gulped.
Finishing her lunch proved to be less aggravating than Twilight had expected. To her great relief, Top Line and Trust Fund had stopped making snide comments - Either they were out of mean things to say or they were just holding back. Whatever the reason, though, they were content to smirk and giggle whenever Twilight took a drink of the milk they provided.
As was surely their plan, by the time Twilight had drank both cartons of milk and the water she’d already started on, she felt water-logged and uncomfortable. Used to drinking two-percent milk or skim, the whole milk also tasted chalky and thick, adding to the list of subtle discomforts she was getting used to.
The school day only dragged on from there. With three ponies to antagonize her and escort her from class to class, Twilight never had a moment to slip away to the bathroom or get out of the stupid, soggy diaper that - to her increasing surprise - none of the other schoolponies had noticed yet. Or, if they had noticed, the entire class of elementary school ponies had all just unanimously decided not to tease the nerdy bookworm for wearing a wet diaper at school.
Yeah, nopony’s noticed yet.
She supposed that she just didn’t draw that much attention to herself on a normal day, not really going out of her way to talk to anypony or really do anything that wasn’t related to the curriculum, so it made sense that anypony not specifically looking for a victim to antagonize would just overlook her, but Twilight was nonetheless sure that somepony was bound to notice.
Even with three beverages inside her, she was able to keep her bladder mostly contained as her classes went by - It was only three hours from the end of lunch to the end of the school day, after all. Top Line was disappointed that Twilight’s diaper hadn’t leaked by the end of Practical Magic, and made a few subtly threatening comments implying that she would be in trouble if she managed to hold it until she got home, but Twilight tried not to think about that for the time being. There was definitely a bit of pressure building in her bladder, reminding her that a repeat performance of her accident that morning wasn’t out of the question, but that didn’t matter, Twilight had a second problem.
Or, rather, Twilight had a #2 problem. She’d had more than her share of pizza the night before, and apparently it wasn’t agreeing with her, because as the afternoon went by, her intestines started to churn, and pressure in her bowels started building at an alarming rate. She had it under control, of course - She wasn’t sick or anything, and anypony could keep from crapping themselves for just a couple hours, but the speed at which the need to go had built left her concerned nonetheless.
With only one class to go - History, as it happened - Twilight was thinking that she just might be able to get through the day without being totally humiliated. As it happened, her class was shared by both Top Line and Trust Fund, meaning they were flanking her on the way to the door, but having two bullies around her at all times wasn’t much different than having one.
Top line leaned in to Twilight and said, “We’re meeting Obsequity in the library after class. Keep hoofing the line and you’ll get your doll. Do anything stupid, it won’t end so nice for you.”
Twilight nodded meekly, not trusting herself to even reply for fear that she might say something which would set Top Line off.
“Heh,” Trust Fund commented, grinning as she pushed open the class door. “You’re a lot more fun when you’re terrified, it’s way better than having you be all know-it-all and hogging the teacher’s attention. Maybe you’re learning.”
Twilight again replaced a real response with a vague shrug of her shoulders, waddling into class and making her way to a desk near the back of the room. She was briefly worried that Top Line would make her sit near the front, but to her surprise, no such instructions came and she was allowed to sit in the back. Her diaper had grown cold, so when she sat down she shivered a little at the clammy, squishy feeling, but since a warm feeling in her diaper had such unfortunate implications, she was okay with it staying cold for the time being. Top Line sat down on her right and Trust Fund did the same on her left, leaving her pretty well surrounded.
I just have to make it an hour, then I’ll have Smarty Pants back and we can go home, Twilight reminded herself. No problem. Just an hour. Easy.
As the teacher started talking, though, a cramp tugged at her bowels as an uncomfortable reminder that a whole hour just might be pushing it. Either way -
She was distracted from her thoughts by a notecard floating into her lap. Looking down, she saw a white glow of magic around it: The note was from Top Line. Glancing up to make sure the teacher wasn’t paying attention - She was writing on the chalkboard, back to the class - Twilight unfolded the note and read it.
‘You should thank us for letting you sit back here. If your really lucky, nopony will notice your accident.’
Twilight frowned at the note, glancing up at the teacher to confirm that she could write a quick reply without getting in trouble. Jotting down a quick note, she passed it back to Top Line.
‘I’m not going to have another accident, I don’t need to pee. Jerk.
Also: You’re*.’
A few moments went by, both of them looking around innocently as the teacher scanned the class for troublemakers before returning to the chalkboard, then another note was passed back to Twilight.
‘I never said you’d get a choice. And ‘Jerk’? Ooh, you’re so smart and clever.’
Twilight read the note, then jotted her own down and passed it back.
‘You can’t make me pee myself. And as long as I stay sitting here after class, you can’t make me trip or pull off my skirt or anything. Stupid jerk.”
This time, a few minutes had to go by before Top Line could pass back a note. Their teacher was trying to get the class more active, asking questions and looking for raised hands, so they had to wait for him to inevitably give up and return to lecturing before Top Line could reply. As those minutes went by, Twilight had to squirm uncomfortably at her desk, trying to think of a way to relieve of a bit of the pressure on her bowels shy of actually running off to a bathroom.
Finally, another note came:
‘Who said anything about peeing yourself? I thought for sure you’d notice that your milk tasted funny, but I guess TF was right, you really are pretty dumb.’
Twilight frowned at the note, confused for a moment, until a wad of paper hit her from the other side. Grabbing it, she uncrumpled a drawing from Trust Fund. As with all the others, it was a cartoony depiction of Twilight. She was drawn sobbing on the ground, sitting with her hind legs splayed so that her diaper was extremely visible. A bottle was drawn on the ground next to her, with the word ‘LAX’ drawn in block letters, and big stink lines were coming off of Twilight.
As she stared at the drawing with a mix of realization and horror, Twilight had one specific question come to mind.
How long has she had a brown crayon with her?
The bell rang, and Twilight shot to her hooves, the churning in her bowels making her desperate to get out of the classroom before she lost control. Running towards-
“Ahem, Twilight, you should know this,” their teacher scolded, stopping her in her tracks. “The bell doesn’t dismiss you, I do.” Blanching, Twilight reversed momentum and backed to her desk, sitting down to the sound of Trust Fund’s giggling. Nodding, the teacher continued. “Your homework is…”
Twilight squirmed desperately in her clammy diaper, totally missing what their assignment was. Best case scenario, she could get out the door before Trust Fund or Top Line realized what had happened, then make a break for the bathroom. It was unlikely, especially since her first break for the door had already failed miserably, but she could try it.
She began focusing on an escape plan. Something to distract everypony long enough to get away… It would be difficult, but maybe if she grabbed the chalkboard erasers with her magic and clapped them, she could make a distraction and-
“Hey, earth to baby,” Top Line snickered, waving a hoof in front of Twilight’s muzzle. “Class was dismissed. We are going to the library.”
Twilight blinked in surprise, having spaced out and only now noticing the other ponies lining up to head out the door. Blushing, she got to her hooves, finding herself again flanked by the bullies, who trotted alongside her so she couldn’t make any sort of move to get away, at least not without them easily being able to stop her.
“P-please,” Twilight whimpered as she pressed her hind legs together as much as she could against the bulky padding, once they were in the hallway and there was less chance of being overheard. “Can I please just go?”
“No way, baby,” Trust Fund said, turning the three of them towards the library. “You’re not going anywhere unless you want everypony at school to see your diaper.”
Twilight swallowed, glancing around in the hopes that nopony would notice her awkward, shuffling waddle. The cramps were growing closer and closer, and she knew she couldn’t possibly have more than a couple minutes to get to a bathroom before the inevitable happened.
She knew the path to the library like the back of her hoof, and so the walk there had no surprises for her. She normally ended her school day there anyways, wanting to check out as many books as they’d allow and return some that she’d finished. It had gotten to the point where the librarian would ask Twilight to find certain books when she couldn’t, something Twilight took a lot of pride in. Today, though, any pride or excitement she would feel in anticipation of reaching the library was replaced with fear and a growing wish that she could turn herself invisible.
“Obsequity is supposed to meet us in the back somewhere,” Trust Fund said, as they walked into the library doors and were greeted with the familiar smell of old books, accompanied by the less-familiar smell of stale urine that had been following Twilight around for most of the day. “I’m surprised you haven’t crapped yourself yet, ba-”
“Shhh!” Twilight pleaded, glancing over at the librarian, only a few paces away behind her desk.
Trust Fund frowned, ignoring the librarian’s curious glance up towards the three of them. “You don’t interrupt me, ba-”
“Let’s go find that book!” Top Line interrupted, loudly, nudging Twilight sharply in the side. “You said it was about foal care, right, Twilight?”
“What?” Twilight asked quietly, Top Line’s elbow making her squirm, the extra pressure on her bowels making her struggle even more to hold it. Catching the significant glare from Top Line, she put the pieces together and said, “Er, yes, that was it.”
“Great!” Top Line said, “This way, girls.”
They made it back behind a few shelves of books before Top Line furiously whispered to Top Line, “What was that?”
“We didn’t want to get held up,” Top Line explained in a matched whisper.
Trust Fund threw up her hooves, exasperated. “Why not? Watching Twilight squirm in front of her would have been hilarious!”
“Yeah, but if we got caught there , then we wouldn’t get a chance to meet up with Obsequity before she has her accident,” Top Line shot back, “And that’d ruin our pl…”
A second went by, and they both looked at Twilight, who was waddling next to them, trying to decide if it was possible to run for it while they were arguing.
Trust Fund seemed to get the point anyways. “Yeah, yeah, whatever. I still think it might have been worth it.”
Twilight gulped, and her intestines gurgled audibly, protesting the growing pressure and demanding that she find a bathroom immediately.
“S-so, Obsequity will have Smarty Pants, right?” Twilight asked, trying not to dwell on whatever the two bullies were plotting.
“Who?” Trust Fund asked.
“Her doll,” Top Line supplied.
“Oh, yeah. Sure, yes, whatever,” Trust Fund said, shrugging.
“Okay,” Twilight said, not reassured in the slightest. They were nearing the back of the library, and she hadn’t seen Obsequity yet, which made her wonder where the third member of the bully trio was hiding, and why they wanted to meet in the library in the first place. It was true that it was practically abandoned most times of day, especially back in the history section that they were currently heading towards, but privacy hadn’t been a concern for them until now, and it seemed weird for them to change style so late in the day.
“I’m surprised the baby hasn’t made a mess in her diaper yet,” Trust Fund teased, as they made it to a dead end, full of autobiographies that nopony ever wanted to read. She gave Twilight a light shove. “Well, baby? Do you think you could even make it to the bathroom if we let you?”
Twilight wasn’t sure how to answer. She was honestly unsure if she could. Even walking was becoming nearly impossible, she was grateful that they had stopped because it allowed her to clamp her hind legs together and focus on keeping her diaper clean. Since it seemed to be the answer Trust Fund wanted, she shook her head a little, blushing profusely.
“That’s what I thought, baby ,” Trust Fund snickered. “Aren’t you glad that we made you wear a diaper now, baby ?”
“Y’know, the ‘Baby’ insult is getting a little old,” Top Line pointed out. “Maybe we should come up with something else, it’s not really that funny to begin with.”
Trust Fund shot her friend a glare. “Oh, yeah? What else would you call a filly who still wears wet diapers?”
“I don’t know, Trust Fund, what would you call a filly like that?” Top Line said, glaring back.
The two of them maintained eye contact for several long moments, until they all heard a pony clear her throat behind them. Spinning around, Twilight saw Obsequity standing there, a camera hanging around her neck by a leather strap.
Time seemed to slow down for a moment as Twilight processed what she was saying and came to the horrible realization. They wanted her in the back of the library so nopony else would be around. They didn’t want anypony else around because they’d get in trouble for whatever was going to happen if anypony saw. With Obsequity at one end of the row and a dead end at the other, Twilight couldn’t possibly run. And with that camera, they’d be able to get pictures of everything.
“Wait, please don-” Twilight managed to say, before a heavy push made her trip backwards, and she felt somepony’s magic start to tickle her. She giggled, squirming and trying uselessly to get away from the tickling magic.
The tickling ended after only a few seconds, but by that point, the damage was done. As it faded and Twilight managed to stop her giggling, she realized that without her constant effort to hold it back, the laxatives had taken over. She tried to stop it, but her body was already set in motion, and no amount of willpower or straining could keep her diaper clean.
Hot much forced its way into her saggy diaper, quickly filling up the available space and forcing the padding to expand outward to make room. As soon as there was a visible bulge, Trust Fund burst out laughing, and Top Line was only a few seconds behind her.
Half a minute went by as Twilight’s diaper bulged larger and larger, the two bullies laughing, Twilight occasionally giving out an involuntary grunt, and Obsequity’s camera clicking occasionally, a bright flash accompanying the clicks. It wasn’t until she was almost done that Twilight noticed her skirt had been bunched up around her waist to expose her diaper, probably on purpose.
“Friggin’ Celestia, she actually did it!” Trust Fund giggled, wiping away a few tears.
Top Line had to catch her breath, finally pointing out, “That means I win the bet. Told ya’ she’d do anything.”
“Sure, I don’t care,” Trust Fund said, grinning. “Did you see the look on her face? That was priceless!”
Twilight scooted backward, her face a bright red, feeling her messy diaper squelch between her legs and trying to pull her skirt down far enough to cover it up. The back corridor of the library was already starting to smell, and she didn’t think there’d be a way to get cleaned up without at least two showers.
Obsequity quietly popped the roll of film out of the camera, putting it into a pocket and glancing at Trust Fund. “Do you want me to get her doll now?” She asked.
“Nah, just throw it away,” Trust Fund said. “We don’t need it anymore.”
“What?” Twilight squeaked, eyes going wide. “B-but you promised!”
“I don’t make promises to smelly diaper babies,” Trust Fund said, grinning wickedly and doing her very best to sound menacing. “And I hope you had fun today, because we’re going to play dress-up a whole lot more all year.”
“N-no way!” Twilight protested, feeling her eyes water against her will. “I won’t wear these again!”
“Yes you will,” Top Line said, more casually. “Not unless you want all these pictures we took ‘accidentally’ ending up in the school newsletter.”
“I’ll… I’ll tell on you!” Twilight said, feebly trying to look confident, a task rather undercut by the tears forming in her eyes.
“To who?” Trust Fund asked. “The princess? And let her know that you actually wore diapers to school and crapped yourself? I don’t think she’d want somepony like that as a pupil.”
“The… The p-principal,” Twilight sniffed. “I’ll tell him!”
“And we’ll say we didn’t do it, and nopony will believe you,” Trust Fund said. “And just to be sure, my dad’ll donate like a new building to the school or something.”
Twilight tried giving a pleading look to Obsequity, but she only looked at her hooves and shrugged.
“Oh, quit crying,” Trust Fund sneered. “We won’t make you wear diapers every day, just whenever we think you’re getting too snooty.”
“Or when we think it’d be really funny,” Top Line added. “Let’s get out of here, Top. It smells like crap.”
“Right, yeah,” Trust Fund agreed. “Obsequity, were you coming over for dinner?”
“I have a lot of homework I need to do,” Obsequity said. “Maybe tomorrow?”
“Just copy Twilight’s,” Trust Fund said. “She won’t mind. Right, baby?”
Twilight sniffed, but nodded, not wanting to incur any more humiliation.
“No thanks,” Obsequity said, quickly adding, “I mean, do we really want to trust the homework of a, uh, diaper baby like her?”
Trust Fund shrugged. “Good point. See you tomorrow, then.”
“Yeah, tomorrow,” Obsequity said, slipping out of the hallway and leaving.
Sparing one last look at Twilight, Trust Fund grinned and said, “I’m not as picky as she is. Go ahead and copy all your notes for me, okay? Thanks,” then turned and left with Top Line, leaving Twilight all alone.
It took her a while to collect herself enough to get to her hooves so she could walk home, and a little bit longer to get used to walking with the extra load between her hind legs making her waddle more pronounced than ever. Every step was a heavy, squishy reminder of what had happened, and even if she stood completely still, the weight of her diaper and the constant smell made it impossible to put entirely out of her mind.
She practiced walking up and down the aisle a couple times, hoping that she could be at least a little bit stealthy, and wishing that her diaper wasn’t so full as to sag well below the bottom hem of her skirt no matter how much she tugged it down.
Once she felt that she wouldn’t get any better at walking with an overfull diaper, she slipped out of the library, moving to the exit as quickly as she felt she could without potentially tripping over her hooves. Most students had gone home, and most who remained were in a hurry to get from one extracurricular activity to another, so outside of a few wrinkled noses accompanied by confused expressions, nopony seemed to pay Twilight’s condition any mind.
Outside, at least, Twilight didn’t have to worry about the smell so much. There was a gentle breeze that kept any bad odors from lingering for long, and though her diaper still poked out from beneath her skirt, the sidewalk was mostly clear for her short walk home.
She tried not to think about what the bullies had said. She couldn’t imagine this happening again, much less becoming a regular occurrence, but if those pictures really got shown to everypony, she’d be a laughingstock. It didn’t matter if Trust Fund or Top Line got punished, Twilight knew she wouldn’t be able to show her face at the school again. And besides-
“Twilight, wait a second!”
Looking over her shoulder, Twilight saw Obsequity running up behind her. “Haven’t you made fun of me enough already?” She asked, though, slowed as she was by her diaper, she couldn’t exactly keep Obsequity away.
“No, I… Uh, well, I just wanted to say sorry for my friends,” Obsequity said, wrinkling her nose as she caught a whiff of Twilight. “Um… They were kinda jerks back there, but they’re really mostly okay, I promise.”
“Whatever,” Twilight said, looking away. “Just leave me alone.”
“Here,” Obsequity said, shoving something towards Twilight. “It’s the film. I guess you can destroy it or whatever.”
Twilight blinked, surprised. “What?”
“I’m sure they were just kidding about doing this again,” Obsequity said. “They told me it was just a one-time prank and all. But just in case, I thought I’d let you have the photos so they couldn’t embarrass you with them. Oh, and I thought you’d want this, too,” she added, reaching into her saddlebag and pulling out a diminutive doll.
“Smarty Pants!” Twilight exclaimed, happily grabbing her stuffed friend and beaming. “Thank you!”
“Yeah, sure,” Obsequity said. “You earned it, right? Just… Don’t bring him back to school for a while, I didn’t tell my friends I was going to give her back, and you do look like kind of a dork.”
“Okay,” Twilight said, barely listening.
“And, uh, maybe don’t tell them that I still have a couple dolls, too,” Obsequity added, tentatively.
Twilight didn’t think about what she’d said for a moment, and then it sunk in. “You do?”
“I mean, I don’t drag them to school with me all the time, but yeah,” Obsequity admitted. “Look, I should go.”
“Thanks,” Twilight said, holding up Smarty Pants. “Really. You’re not a jerk like them.”
“They might be jerks, but they’re my friends,” Obsequity pointed out.
Twilight frowned. “Friends are stupid.”
Obsequity turned to leave, then paused. “Oh, and if Top Line tries to mess with you any more, just… Maybe imply that you know why she happened to have access to heavy-duty bedwetting diapers.”
Twilight blinked, watching Obsequity turn and walk away. “Oh,” She said, a few things suddenly making a bit more sense.
More importantly, though, it was all over. She just had to go home and take a shower and throw away her old diaper, and the ordeal would be done with. Nopony had any pictures, nopony had any way to blackmail her, and she had Smarty Pants back. Her brother would be in his room, working studiously at his homework, possibly with Cadence - Who’d been coming over to help him study an awful lot lately, probably because Highschool had a lot of homework.
Twilight slipped in through the back door, walking into the kitchen, hugging Smarty Pants, and smiling. Taking a few steps in, though, she froze, seeing something she hadn’t expected, standing between her and the stairs to the bathroom.
Swallowing on a dry throat, Twilight said, “Mom, you’re home early?”
