Lavender sat in the back of Twilight's library balling her eyes out. Applejack and Twilight just sat staring at the makeshift pillow fortress Lavender had encased herself in. Applejack attempted to reach inside to nudge her only to feel a slight pain in her hoof making her jerk back. Twilight stopped her from trying again and just sat down in front of the fort. "Lavender..what's wrong, you've been in here all day."
"Leave me alone.."
"I think it would be more beneficial if you just let us talk to you instead of biting us."
"I see no reason to leave my domain, please if you would, I would love to be with thoughts in silence."
Applejack just stared at Twilight a with confused look. "Why you talking like that sugar?"
"Talking like what my dear?"
Twilight just sighed and used her magic to quickly dismantle the pillow fortress. "It only hurts if you keep it in Lavender."
".........Fine.....After you sent me to the Dragon Lands and I got into a fight with a dragon named Garble. I met my detestable father....um sorry, the way my mom talks kinda shifts in and out when I'm....emotional. So me and my dad talked about the situation and I actually understood why they broke up in the first place. If only they could convey that to each other, I was sure they could get back together but.."
"But?"
Applejack put her hoof around Lavender and spoke softly. "No need to hold back, I reckon it can't be that bad."
"Get ready to be surprised. Spike actually was brave enough to say, in front of his own daughter, that he found more in common with that..that....detestable, uncultured, unrefined, disgraceful abomination!"
Applejack rocked her side to side which seemed to calm her down. "Calm down sugar, best you don't let Rarity take over here."
"Ok...ok, i'm good stop rocking me please. He wants to stay with Dragon lord Ember. (Sigh of relief)"
Applejack held her head in thought. "Dragon Lord Ember? Isn't that the light blue dragon who visited when Spike was still a little shorter."
Twilight nodded slowly. "If that's the case, why fight it?"
Lavender returned to all fours as she stared Twilight straight in the eyes. "What do you mean why fight it?"
Twilight backed up far before she spoke another word. "Well instinctively speaking, Spike may feel the urge of a dragoness instead of a pony, I mean he is a male dragon and as a male dragon, a female dragon is usually the first choice."
"So what're saying Twilight? Are you saying my dear dad should've been with that uncouth dragon in the first place?"
"Well no I was just explaining dragon instincts to you, not implying that he should.."
"Shut it magic worm. You said enough, I'm grabbing my stuff and leaving. Maybe they'll be better off without each other."
Lavender picked up her and flipped it onto her back as she headed for the door. Applejack attempted to stop her advance only to be slowly pushed back as Lavender received no resistance. "Please just hold ya horses, that's not what she meant."
"You're not changing my mind." Applejack slid to the ground with a sigh watching Lavender walk by and open the door. "I bid you farewell."
The door slammed shut knocking dozens of books of the shelf's making Twilight grunt in anger. Applejack just stared at Twilight with an annoyed look. "Really?...Really?....Instincts? Instead of helping her through it, you give her a scientific answer."
"Just don't Applejack, I know what I've done wrong. Just go stop here before she makes a huge mistake. Get her to Pinkie's, I'm sure she'll keep her occupied."
"Well then I best be gettin along." Applejack quickly galloped into the streets after Lavender tackling her on approach. "Let's not be hasty now, we still have a surprise for you."
"Applejack let go of me!"
"Not until we talk this little mishap out."
Lavender's eyes turned to green once more as she struggled in Applejack's grasp. "I...said...let me....go!"
A strong burst of energy sent AJ flying into a bush as Lavender got up and walked off. She got up from her leafy cushion and sighed. "Didn't want to have to do this but you left me no choice sugar."
Applejack removed a rope from the side of a building and tied in a way only she knew. After tightening the knot, she picked it up and began spinning it around and around, forming a lasso as she began trotting towards Lavender again. After reaching only a few feet away, she let the lasso go and trapped Lavender in the rope dropping her to ground. "What the? What cruel act of trickery is this?!"
"You're are not going anywhere until you say bye to Pinkie Pie even if I have to drag you there."
"Applejack let me....ugh fine."
Applejack happily trotted to Sugarcube corner, rope in tow with Lavender in it. She slid her inside and called out. "Pinkie, she's here!"
A flash of Pink flew by Lavender's face as she now stood face to face with Pinkie Pie who was giving her the most serious look ever. Lavender just awkwardly chuckled as she back up a little. "Pinkie are you..ok?"
"Oh yea, i'm ok alright. Just peachy..wanna know why I'm so peachy?"
"I'm afraid to ask."
"Because you have done something no one can overlook, something that you need to answer for."
"Let's try to remember I'm the daughter of Spike and Rarity here, I have rights."
"Well duh!"
"What?....Did I miss something besides the despair I feel right now."
"Silly Dracony, this is the surprise party."
"Surprise?...for what?"
"For Spike and Rarity of course."
Lavender's gaze shot towards the ground, tapping her claws together in a nervous manner. "Pinkie about my mom and dad."
"Where is the lovely couple huh, outside. Ooh maybe they're going to surprise the surprise by surprising the surprise."
"Pinkie I.."
"What should I have got them, maybe a bouquet of rocks or flowers, you know the whole dragon or pony thing."
Applejack slapped a piece of tape over Pinkie's mouth who was still trying to talk. "Pinkie be quiet for ten seconds and let Lavender get out what she has to."
Pinkie removed the tape from mouth with a big smile. "Okie dokie."
Lavender untied and sat herself down at a nearby table. "Mom..and...dad..aren't getting back together."
Pinkie began to lose her vibrant pink color as her smile turned to blank. "What?"
"Uh...not getting back together...finished...over."
Pinkie's hair deflated as she stared at the ground. "Oh..ok you two, I guess you can come out now."
Rainbow and Fluttershy slowly emerged from their hiding spots with looks of sorrow. Fluttershy was on full blast with tears soaking Rainbow's mane as she cried into it. "So it's true, Spike and Rarity aren't getting back together?"
Rainbow tried to fight back a tear with all she had. "You gotta be kidding me. They're gonna split, just like that?"
Lavender sluggishly nodded. "Yep. Spike's words. He's gonna give up my mom and go marry some dragon name Ember."
Rainbow put her hoof to her chin in thought. "Ember..Ember...isn't that the former dragon lord's daughter that Spike had a crush on before he dated Rarity."
Applejack nodded and removed her hat. "And I reckon he still had that crush even through marriage."
Lavender got up and headed towards the door. "Well doesn't matter now. I don't have a reason to be here now."

Suddenly Pinkie's vibrant color and hair returned to normal as she pulled Lavender back into the store. "Don't you dare deny your destiny."
"Destiny? I hardly think it's destiny to get my parents back together."
"What did I just say? Don't you dare deny destiny because destiny is what's gonna help you."
"You're....Wait what?"
"Destiny is what drives us. Destiny is what makes you get back up after you get knocked down. Destiny is what keeps my cupcakes sweet and intense. Destiny is what keeps Applejack's apples...apple and stuff. Destiny.."
"Pinkie....Pinkie are you even listening." Lavender didn't receive a reply as Pinkie just went on and on. "Uh guys is she going somewhere with this?"
Rainbow put her hoof around Lavender's shoulder and turned her away from the door. "I have no idea where she is going but I do know what she is trying to say. Basically you can't give up kid. When I was faced with challenges of saving Equestria." Applejack angrily grunted making Rainbow jump. "I mean we were faced with the challenges of saving Equestria, we didn't give up, no matter how beat down or outmatched we were and just look at us now. What is considered peace rains across the land."
"So say I actually take your advice, what would I do?"
Fluttershy finally removed her head from Rainbow's mane wiped her eyes. "I...I have a suggestion. Maybe if you could get them in the same place, they could actually talk about what you've heard."
Lavender pondered the thought in her head. "You know what..that might actually work. You are a genius Fluttershy, since when were you a love expert?"
"Well last week Angel got into a fight with one the birds so in order to work out their problems, I stuck them in a room together."
"Did it work?"
"Well...um....no..no it didn't. Perhaps their problem is more complicated than that, but it should work perfectly fine for Spike and Rarity."
As Lavender opened her mouth to speak, Twilight bolted through the door. "Lavender?! There you are. Listen...."
Lavender put a claw to her mouth shushing her. "Don't worry Twilight, I forgive you."
"I said I was sorry...wait...you forgive me?"
"Yep. look I understand you have to see everything from scientific viewpoint but let's be honest, it's not always the best. I'm sorry for calling you a magic worm but next time, look inside your heart, not your books."
"Right. So before you leave.."
"You showed up a little late Twilight but I'm already ready to try a get my parents back together."
"Really? Alright then. Why is Pinkie onto of a table?"
"Well she started some type of speech about destiny and...yea she's been up there for about a good two minutes."
"Shouldn't someone get her down?"
Applejack giggled and shook her head. "I wouldn't. Just let her get it out."
Twilight let out a giggle. "So what do we do now?"
Lavender thought to herself and shrugged. "I got nothing. The goal is to get my mom and dad in the same place together."
Everyone held their chin in thought. Applejack was first to speak. "How bout we invite them to a party?"
Rainbow shook her head. "They would never go it, Rarity's too sad. How bout we we invite them to a competition run by yours truly."
Twilight sighed and shook her head. "No Rainbow Dash, just no.......Oh! I have an idea but you may not like it."
"What do you mean may not like it?"
"You want the great and powerful Trixie to do what?"
Twilight nervously chuckled. "We just need you create a fake shadow monster."
"And why should I do this for you after you humiliated me?"
"Because if you do, people may actually like you."
"I do want to be liked again. Not gonna lie it's been quite hard to stay in business due to....eccentric fans. You have yourself a deal."
"Thank you Trixie, you won't regret it. Meet at the princesses old castle just beyond the Everfree forest at sundown."
"I expect to be fashionably late."
Lavender and Twilight exited the trailer with smiles on their faces. They made their way to Twilight's library and proceeded inside. "Alright then Lavender. It's up to you to get them back together. Just let me send out the message to Dragon Lord Ember and then at sundown, I'll bring over Rarity." You remember where the princesses old castle is right?"
"Yea...no."
"Don't worry, Rainbow Dash will be flying overhead as a training exercise but actually she'll be guiding you there. Give me a moment to send this off." Twilight's horn lit up with magic lifting up the scroll with purple light. It vanished in a flash of light. "Alright. Now all you have to do is wait."
Lavender's face began showing sorrow as she started scratching her head. "......"
"Something wrong Lavender?"
She let out a hard sigh and looked up at Twilight. "Can we talk about something?"
"We have a few hours so let's talk it out."
"Well...I know I shouldn't be thinking like this....and I know I should be thankful for my life but.....How much different do you think my life would have been if Spike hadn't you know.....married Rarity."
