The events from the Friendship Games had changed Cinch for the worse. The Crystal Prep students had "turned her hair gray" a long time ago and she was starting to drink alcohol during school because of all the pressure building up onto her as well as depression. Not to mention the upcoming swimming tournament with Canterlot High not too far away, all of the pressure was starting to kill her. She needed relief, and she needed it very bad.

Then, one day while going through the halls after checking up with the swimming coach, she met a teenage boy who wasn't from Crystal Prep at all. Maybe the relief she needed was closer than she thought.
