"Scoots! Wait up!" A small yellow earth pony filly with her red mane tied up with a bow yelled as she chased an orange Pegasus filly using her wings to propel herself at breakneck speeds on a scooter. "Sorry, no can do Apple..." Scootaloo never had the chance to finish her sentence when she crashed into a wooden cart that had been crossing the road. While the cart surprisingly was mostly undamaged the orange filly was stuck half way through the side of the cart. Applebloom quickly bolted to her friend's aid. "Scootaloo are you alright?" She said looking at the scene of the the orange filly trying to free herself from between the wooden beams. "Oh yeah just fine! Help me out of here!" Scootaloo yelled as she pushed her hands against the floor of the cart. "I'll try." Applebloom said gripping her friend by the waist and began pulling as hard as she could. Before long The Orange filly popped out with a soft yelp as she landed rump first upon Applebloom's face. "Ah! Thank you Apple... oh no." Scootaloo said hopping off her friend's face "sorry sorry sorry!" Scootaloo blurted out to her friend. "Are you fillies ok?" The gruff voice of cranky doodle asked as he ran out of the nearby store front. "Scoots just crashed into your cart mister doodle." Applebloom said gesturing to the orange filly. "Traitor!" Scootaloo flinched as she silently cursed being outed. "I'm not mad. The cart is replaceable. You're not. Are you alright?" "Y-yeah mister Doodle." Scootaloo said kicking the dirt bashfully. "No harm done. Good thing I reinforced the old cart huh?" Cranky smiled uncharacteristically before hitching the cart to himself and walking off down the road Suddenly a gust of frigid wind blasted through the streets of ponyville as black storm clouds swirled around the roof of the town hall. "What's going on? A dark gray Pegasus exclaimed as he landed on an adjacent roof top. "We have a rouge system it looks like." An arrogant toned blue mare with a wild rainbow colored mane and tail. "I'll handle this thunder." Rainbow Dash bolted followed by her trademark rainbow trail. She came in quick and grabbed onto the spreading storm clouds only to find out they were extremely hot to the touch. *Ah,ah,ah hot hot hot!" Dash let go and bolted off to dive into a lake before returning. Her body was a blur as she attempted to halt the spread of the scolding clouds. Embers began falling from the clouds as Rainbow zoomed around them. Without a sound a bolt of crimson lightning stuck the roof of the town hall followed by another and another, ripping the roof asunder as the crimson streams of energy combined into a twisting ball of red energy. The clouds began to fade away but the large orb of energy remained. "Yeah your not so... Buck!" Rainbow cursed as she looked at the destroyed building below her. "Good thing the Mayer is out." The red orb began audibly crackling with blue energy. Within the orb something formless swirled like smoke, and with a thunderous blast the orb expanded. Becoming a large arcing wall. Rainbow Dash touched down at the far side of the now empty plaza. A sound rang through the plaza, the sound of armored hooves Marching. Shadows appeared within the wall of light as it began to ripple. An entire line of six unicorns in silvery armor and bearing tall black metal shields stepped out. The helms of the unicorns covered their entire head save for the mouth, even their horns were made apart of the silvery helm. the chest plates were moulded to each soldier's body, they marched on Followed by another wave and another and so on. Soon came pegasai baring long spears with a banner attached just below the spear head. Their armor extended along their wings, giving them a mechanical look about them. The banner depicted a Sol with a vertical slit Iris and three tear drops underneath it. One black, one white and the lowest one red. "And just who in Tartarus are you guys?" No answer came from the strange ponies. In unison the battalion of silver armored ponies split apart, faced each other and kneeled as if expecting royalty. "Hey! I'm talking to you! Gluk!" Rainbow Dash choked and began grasping at her throat feeling something closing around her throat. "Such an annoying voice. " A female unicorn said as she stepped out of the portal. Her helmet was different from the rest of the ponies. It having a bright red plume atop her head and draping over the sides of her head. "Shatter, remember what our Lord said." A male pegasai wearing the same style of helmet said as the unicorn mare stepped out of the portal. His large dark green wings folded up behind him as he gabbed the mare "let her go before he gets here. And maybe i won't have to report your... aggression" the unicorn mare growled "Sais, she really annoys me." The Pegasus that was identified as Sais frowned. "It's your flank if you want to go against his wishes." The portal shimmered as the air grew unnaturally cold "Indeed It is." A distorted voice came from behind the two. A shadowy figure stood just on the other side of the portal. "Huh, huuh." Rainbow panted as she regained her ability to breath normally. "What was that about!" The portal began to shimmer as a large hoof poked out as The figure behind the portal stepped out from behind it. The figure was very tall possibly as tall if not taller than even Celestia, around his shoulders was a tattered black cloak that resembled leathery black wing arms with the hands acting as the clasp. His coat was coal black with silver around his neck and muzzle. His shoulder length silver and ice blue mane was tied back in one long bundle. Atop his head stood were a trio of horns and a copper crown with different colored gems. His eyes remained hidden behind layers of dark blue cloth trimmed with silver threading and white gems wrapped around his head. On his waist a skirt wrapped around his silver armored legs "Shatter return to the Everdream. It was a mistake to send you." His tone was cold and oozing with disdain. The silver armored unicorn bowed "My deepest apologies Milord, but I cannot leave you..." she was cut off by the grip of a crimson magical aura closing around her throat. The figure's hand extended out from under the cloak, positioned as if his hand was wrapped around the choking unicorn's neck. Forcing her down onto her knees. "My deepest apologies Madame. Shattered Dreams needs to learn proper control of her Status." The large figure said as he looked to Rainbow Dash, even though his eyes were hidden The multiple hued Pegasus could feel his gaze penetrating her to the core. "I-I.. beg your for-forgiveness Milord." The silver armored mare pleaded with choked gasps as she fell to her knees. Rainbow Dash watched the scene in shock as the rest of the mane six arrived with Twilight Sparkle leading the group. As the group arrived the armored ponies rose and planted their Shields in a defensive position, forming a wall of black metal. "Our Lord will address you when his judgement is rendered" the Pegasus named Sais said from above the wall of sheilds as the other pegasai lined Their spears up into the small gaps of the shield wall. Twilight unfurled her wings as she took a combative stance "who are you? What do you want?" She said channeling magical energy into her hands "Sais, let them pass. " The unnamed Figure commanded as he released his choke on the silver armored mare. "Arise Shattered. You are forgiven." The sheild wall broke apart as quickly as it formed and allowed the mares to pass through. Shattered dreams arose and took her position behind the figure. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" Twilight said after she bolted to her friend's side. "I'm fine Twi. Be careful this guy gives me the creeps." Rainbow Dash said as she limbered up her shoulders. "You know it is rude to speak of somepony like they aren't in front of you." The figure vanished in a flash of red and reappeared behind the duo. A smile crossed the figure's muzzle as the clasped hands of his cloak came apart and exposed the fact they were actually fully functional wings. "I am Lord Skarr, King of nightmares. I am here to collect what was promised to me by the one called Nightmare Moon." "Well she no longer... is among us. We managed to purge her from the world." Twilight said as she looked up at the large King. "yeah we blasted her with the elements of Harmony!" Rainbow Dash said throwing a few punches through the air. "Did you come all this way for an autograph from the one and only Rainbow Dash?" "Who are you? I care not for for braggarts. Eis prah unth." Lord Skarr said looking to the loud mouthed mare. "My deepest apologies Shattered. You were correct. She is annoying." Skarr said before vanishing in a bright crimson flash as the rubble of the town hall began to shake before rocketing off the ground and crashing in place as red hues formed around the pieces of the building. Within a few moments the last piece of the town hall clacked into place before the area was bathed in a red glow. When the bright light faded the formally destroyed building looked better than when it was new. Atop the roof stood the nightmarian alicorn, "citizens of equestria. I am Lord Skarr. Your new king. Those who submit will not be harmed. If you resist. I will crush you underhoof. You will be joined with the everdream."

"You want a piece of me ya three horned freak?!? " The cyan mare called out shaking her fist at the Stallion atop the reformed building. Skarr jumped off the roof of the town hall and landed with his wings at full extension just before Rainbow Dash. "Is that a challenge?" His face twisted into a deranged smile. "Yeah I can take you any day of the mmph!" She was cut off by bands of crimson energy clapping her mouth shut. "Child understand this. If you challenge me I will show you no mercy." Rainbow Dash response came in the form of a punch aimed at Skarr's face. The sound of the blow echoed through the plaza but Skarr seemed to be unfazed by the blow. "Very well. Name your terms. " Skarr said pulling the mare's fist from his face. "When I win you leave Equestria forever." "Agreed and If I were win. I'll take your wings." Silver energy gathered to Skarr's hands before his hands rose up over his head as the same colored light spread out around the duo forming a large circle around the two ponies. Twilight looked at the circle with a look of pure fear "Rainbow run! Run as fast as you can!" "What? Why" Rainbow Dash asked as she turned to Twilight. "She is afraid of this spell. This is a version of a combat ring spell. All though this one will not dissipate until blood is spilled. " Skarr said bringing his hands up to the dark blue and silver bordered cloth around his eyes and began to unravel it. Letting it fall away from his face showing a large Silver gash across his closed eyes. "It will be your's." Skarr opened his eyes showing them to be mostly solid white save for the small black dots that were his irises. "Come on Dash! Whoop his butt!" Pinkie Pie screamed in support of her friend "Don't worry I'll handle the tricorn." "You'll handle me?" Lord Skarr said as he took a combative stance "Girl. What makes you think you can Survive me?" Skarr's leathery wingarms folded over his shoulders. "Fight." Rainbow Dash took off with as much power as she could muster with a punch aimed right at the Stallion's face. However Skarr's left wing arm came down upon the back of Dash's head sending her face first into the paved Street. With a particularly loud wingbeat Skarr's wings propelled him straight up into the air. "What's the matter? Are you going to beat me? Or are you not fast enough to catch me?" Skarr's mockery was painfully clear as the ring on the ground began to expand. The silver armored ponies began to retreat back into the shimmering portal before it collapsed with an audible rumble. As the ring expanded Twilight began herding the other ponies away from the expanding ring. "Don't get cocky!" Rainbow Dash said as she shakily rose to her hooves before spreading her wings for take off. Clouds of dust formed underneath the mare as she took off from the ground follows closely by her trademark rainbow trail with both of her fists extended twords her opponent. Rainbow Dash bolt around Lord Skarr going as fast as she could. Her rainbow trail wrapping around the monarch as she sped around him. And with a thunderous boom it happened, her ace in the hole the sonic rainboom. Rainbow Dash jumped away from the sphere of contained energy as a cascade of colors erupted from it. Landing on the ground Rainbow Dash fell onto her rear panting soft from exertion. Looking up at the fading orb of Rainbow energy with shock as she heard the sound of Skarr's wings beating against the air. As the sphere fully faded Rainbow Dash could see his Magic formed around him giving his body an eerie crimson glow. "Impressive. Unless you were trying to harm me." Skarr said dryly. "Hey! That's cheating!" Rainbow said pointing at Skarr accusingly "Excuse me, but you never said I couldn't use my magic in your terms. Just that you had to beat me. Speaking of which." With The final word spoken Skarr Vanished in a flash of red and reappeared behind Rainbow Dash and planted his hoof against her back between her wings, forcing her to the ground. "Now to claim what is mine." Skarr's wingarms grabbed onto the mare's wings and began pulling on them while his hoof pushed down hard on her back intent on traumatically removing her wings. "No! Stop, please don't do this to me!" Rainbow Dash pleaded, her voice wracked with pain. "I told you..." her wings bones crunched under his wingarm's grips "...no..." his wingarms pulled harder making the mare scream in pain before leaning down and grinning diabolically "...mercy." his last word was followed by a wet tearing noise and an ear-splitting, blood curdling scream. Rainbow Dash's body went limp as Skarr covered his eyes with his left hand while the right extended out making the cloth that was once wrapped around his eyes. The long strip of dark blue cloth moved through the air to wrap around its master's face once more. "A shame." Skarr said as he looked down at the broken and very bloody mare. Her detached wings still in the grip of his wingarms. "I could use a mare like you." Lord Skarr said kneeling down next to Rainbow Dash as her eyes went wide with fear "Rainbow Dash. I curse you. Your bleakest nightmares will be nothing but sweet memories. The reward for your loyalty will be betrayal." Skarr said as a crimson ball of smoke formed in his hand and poured over the broken mare. "And in your darkest hour I shall come for you, and you will welcome my embrace ." Skarr said before crushing the orb in his hand as the blood soaking Rainbow's tank top began to pool under her." The dueling ring spell Skarr had cast was stated, the large Silver ring faded with a shimmering sigh allowing the rest of the mane six along with a battalion of Royal guards to flood in. An palpable Feeling of unease washed though the plaza as Skarr lifted Dash's limp body from the ground with his wing arm and tosses her at the hooves of Twilight. "You're a monster!" Twilight growled between clenched teeth as fluttershy and rarity tended to their wounded friend. "A monster? No." he turned and began to walk away as an orb of crimson energy formed in front of him. "I am beyond your comprehension." The orb cracked and rumbled as it expanded allowing the deranged king to vanish inside it. "REVENGE!!!!" Came a loud shrill scream as a flat haired pinkie Pie bolted at the orb of energy and dove into it just before it collapsed in on itself. On the other side the pink mare collided with a wall of metal sheilds with a loud metallic sheilds. As tried to rise up from the ground she saw the ground around her was barren and dead looking. The air was cold. Even possibly colder that the frozen north. Her teeth began to chatter as she was pinned down and restrained with shackles. That's when she saw the sky burning like a Ceaseless inferno. "Looks like you were followed King Skarr." The familiar voice of Shattered dream said before punching the mare across the face knocking her unconscious. "Now, now shatter. She is a guest here after all. Put her in the tower and I'll deal with her later. For now. We have war to enact."

The room around her though mostly dark had a large, albeit dim glowing crystal in the exact center of the cell. "Oowie my head!" The pink pony Said as she saw light flickering just on the other side. "Eis naki prok undak?" A voice just on the other side of the door spoke in an odd language. "Kri drung, naki Lord Skarr alung Kaas. " A second voice responded in what could be assumed the same language. The Loud clack of armored hooves sounded before several loud crashing Noises. Pinkie Pie watched as handle of the dungeon door jiggled before it flew open showing a silver coated unicorn mare. The mare was dressed regally in a long flowing steel colored dress. "My apologies for your accommodations. My Father's Personal guard can be overzealous.". The mare said walking across the room to the restrained mare. "What do you want with Equestria?" Pinkie said looking up at the silvery mare. "I'm sorry. You're Equestria is the next target for my father's hunger." She said looking down mournfully. "Oh boo-hoo. Who cares about some lesser Realm Whisper ." A steel colored unicorn mare said standing in the doorway. Her shoulder length mane was colored coal black, her eyes were heterochromatic with one bright red eye and one bright blue eye. "Not all of us can be a heartless curr Vexsis." Whisper said glaring at the mare in the doorway. "I'm not heartless." Vexsis said looking at her fingers as a ball of and blue energy ball formed in her hand and dissipated showing a disembodied heart. "see?" She said tossing it at Whisper. Pinkie went wide eyed with shock as Vexsis threw the disembodied part across the room. "Father has a plan for this one." Vexsis said licking her palm that held the heart. "Maybe he'll rip her mind asunder." "Didn't your mother teach you it's rude talk about ponies like they're not there?" Pinkie said as her face made a childish pout at the steely mare . However a voice just outside the cell brought the conversation to a halt. "Ah Princess Whisper and Vexsis. What happened To the guards your father posted here?" Vexsis without breaking her extremely bored visage spoke up. "The light in their eyes offended me. So I put them out. Speaking of. Your's are offending me, so get what you came for and leave before I put you out." Her voice was no less than completely calm as she spoke her threat. "Your father wants to see the Pink one. " The silver-armored unicorn said stepping past the glare of Vexsis before kneeling down and releasing the earth pony from her bindings. "Please come with me." Pinkie hesitantly rose up and rubbed her sore wrists before departing with the Guardpony. The halls of the castle were made of a highly polished black stone with veins of silver that made up the walls. Pinkie looked around as she was lead to a set of large doors. The silver guard pushed opened a single massive door showing the massive regal chamber. At the far side a large Blackstone bench draped in dark blue and silver tapestries that draped over the back of the seat. Behind it and all around the chamber were displays with various crowns and other objects one would think to belong to royalty. "Ah, the element of joy." A familiarly cold voice said as Skarr's body materialized bit by bit in front of Pinkie Pie. "It is a pleasure." "Listen buster! You crippled my friend, you declared war on us, you'll never win and I am the Element of LAUGHTER!" Pinkie babbled as she poked the king in the chest. Skarr chuckled before his hand stabbed into Pinkie's chest. Making the mare freeze up and grab at Skarr's arm as it began sinking deeper into her chest. The area where Skarr's hand penetrated Pinkie's chest shimmer with his magic. "I like Your spirit. I think I'll take it. " Pinkie started to scream bloody murder as she felt something deep inside her being ripped out of her. Skarr's hand moved slowly up as Pinkie's body spasmed wildly before Skarr pulled his hand from the mare, a bright pink flame danced in his palm. "Such a lovely spirit..." Skarr said watching the flame dance before pushing the flame into his mouth with an audible gulp. Looking down at the Writhing mare as her mane straighened out and her coat darkened, Skarr grinned. "It seems you had a guest inside you. " "Where am I?" A low female voice asked Pinkie's body sat up from the floor. "You are in the Everdream. I just devoured your host. " "I'm... Free?" The mare in Pinkie's body asked looking up at the king. "You are free my child. But I must ask something in exchange." Skarr lifted the mare from the floor "all I ask in exchange is loyalty. To me. " Dark pinkie nodded as she became embraced by the large stallion, his Magic wrapping around her form covering it with crimson and black hooded robes. "Hold out your hand. " The dark pink mare did as she was asked and extended out her hand as crimson smoke tendrils coiled around her arm before the tip of the smoke tendrils stabbed into her hand making the mare grit her teeth as a glowing sun with a vertical slit Iris formed on the back of her outstretched hand. Before long she Fell to one knee. "Arise and claim your new name. Lumari the Defiler." Skarr patted his hands on the newly named mare's shoulders as she rose to her hooves. "Thank you my Lord. You are too kind."Lumari said looking down at the new mark on her hand as it's glow slowly faded.
