'Manehattan never seemed so much like home...I guess leaving isn't all bad, what did I have to lose no friends, no one even to talk to, rats! not even a cutie mark' running these thing's through my head just gave me a headache so one last glimpse of my so called home and it had vanished over the sunset drenched hills.
"What's up sweetie aren't you happy about our new home, viny, come on what's wrong I......"
I stopped her ,feeling embarrassed "mooom" moaning more than I needed, well what do you expect from a filly, " I told you not to call me that, call me by my real name" trying to persuade to stop using such a silly name.
"Okay, miss Vinyl Scratch, what is a matter with you're upside down frowny wowny" trying her best to put a smile back on my face.
I replied with a long cold stare, then a smile creeping out trying to suppress my laughter but then bursting out laughing my filly head off, "it's nothing really, I'm just kinda tired of moving from place to place all the time".
"Ooooh so that's what's wrong eh, now don't worry my little Viny whiny..."
"moooooom" moaning for the second time..
"Sorry, Miss Vinyl, you don't need to worry any more this is the last stop we wont be moving any more"
I stared at her my eyes glittering with happiness, I haven't felt this way in a long time, "sooo were staying in PonyVille, for real"
"yes we are sweetheart, yes we are" she said in relief.
I turned to my dad who was pulling the cart that me and my mother used as a taxi, "are you okay daddy,"
he grunted a bit, "yes sweetheart I'm fine we'll be there any time soon don't you worry"
so i turned back round yawning uncontrollably, to walk over to my makeshift bed and sleep the rest of the trail.
PonyVille
I woke up in a silk comfy bed and thought it was all just a dream I awoke to smell daisy sandwiches...wait Daisy sandwiches?, my favourite!, I quickly ran downstairs without thinking of looking around and noticing the different wallpaper and different rooms in the house i sat at the table my mom and dad gleaming at me,
"What do you think of the place" rearing her head the new house that laid beyond me.
I swallowed in realisation and slowly turned round the house was big compared to the others we had gotten before i simply said "WOW" in shock "this place is AWESOME" I ran up to my mum and dad and hugged them in happiness when I let go I quickly bolted for the door.
"VINYL, wait dear you need to finish your breakfast before you go on you're adventure's, okay sweety"
I groaned eager to get out and explore "okay", I sat back down and finished my breakfast, and went out my mum and dad telling me to be back about 4 o'clock for us to go out and see the rest of the town together, I went out looking around for a park where I could find some other ponies the same age as me to try and make a friend for once.
As soon as I found the park I heard sniggering and talking going on I caught one of them say something about my eyes i put my head down to hide them 'it's not my fault there red' thinking to myself, as I started walking away they started calling names at me like "Evil eyes and Crazy mane" I didn't know what to do at that moment in time I simply hid behind my mane and walked away, to stay in solitude for the rest of the night.
"Vinyl, come on sweety were off to see the town"
I didn't reply,
A few moments later I heard to what sounded to be my daddy coming upstairs.
"Vinyl you there?" he walked in looking for me in confusion, " what's wrong honey, did something happen today when you went out,"
I looked up tears flowing freely down my cheeks, "ITS NOT FAIR!" i started shouting.
My daddy shocked at the sudden outburst, " what do you mean sweety" my dad managed a smirk to keep his appearance from showing the overwhelming hate and sorrow from seeing his daughter in such a disheartening state.
I wiped my tears away and looked him in the eye, "everywhere we go I'm always different, its like I'm not even a pony, more like a mant, manta, whatever there called I'm just not wanted anywhere" my tears started to form again.
My dad sighed and continued "you cant let the other ponies get to you like this, you've got to stand up for yourself forget about them, because you Vinyl, you are unique in the most beautiful way imaginable, and you don't forget that, because all them other ponies, well if they can't see you for, well you, then there wrong"
I lifted my head from my pillow and simply said "thanks daddy".
"So are you coming with me and you're mom to see the town or not" his big toothy grin shining at me.
"Of course daddy" as I jumped off the bed eager to get going, "but where exactly, are we going?"
"well, there's a little place not far from here called Sugar Cube Corner, where they do delightful treats, and I will get you you're favourite strawberry cupcake, how about that" he smiled in delight.
"That sounds like a plan".
As we all stepped out we were greeted by a very energetic pink pony, "HEY I'M PINKIE PIE, are you new here well I really wouldn't know because I live on a rock farm just outside of Ponyville where I just got my cutie mark for setting up a party for my family."
Mom and dad just stood there in shock to what just happened out of nowhere, so I started talking to the pink pony called Pinkie Pie "uhmm hey, my name..."
I was quickly cut off my the pink pony from her complementing my mane and my eyes, " WOW you're mane looks really cool, and your eyes look awesome they remind me of strawberries and I Love strawberries and think they're just hhhmmmmm"
"really, you really like my mane, and my eyes!?" the sudden complement took me by surprise
"yeh, I think they look super cool, hey I'm going to sugar cube corner wanna come with,"
my eyes blew open in joy and without hesitation I simply shouted "YES, I WOULD LOVE TO COME" catching myself to the sudden outburst "oops, sorry" feeling a bit embarrassed "I'm Vinyl Scratch by the way, nice to meet you pinky, was it"
Apples, Cupcakes and MUFFINS!
Streets of Ponyville
'The wind through my sky and sea blue mane, the big toothy grin and the laughter between two friends, I was happy, happy then I had ever been before I had made a friend who liked me for me!' these thoughts overwhelmed me trying to make sure I toppled, they succeeded, I had gone face first into some hay that was at the side of the street.
"well looky here, look's like ya just been tryin'ta find a needle in a haystack little one, here let me help ya" came a voice as smooth as silk, with a bit of a southerner accent.
I was quickly pulled out to reveal a green mare, with light golden orange eyes, "Th-thanks miss for pulling me out of there" I stumbled a bit trying to recollect myself from the sudden collision.
"What's your rush little'en, you late for something?" questioned the green mare.
"Wha-uh, no sorry I was just playing wit.."
"Pinkie Pie, what are ya doin in Ponyville, shouldn't ya be on the rock farm?"
"Hi Granny Smith, what are you selling today?" replied Pinkie trying to change the conversation.
"Well I'm selling the usual Pinkie as always, so who's ya friend here?"
"Oh this is..is"
"Vinyl miss, Vinyl Scratch" I replied with a smile.
"Well it's nice ta meet ya" giving a smile back.
I couldn't help but notice an orange filly looking like she was trying to hide behind Granny Smith, from what I caught of her she had green eyes, white freckles and a blonde mane that was tied with a red band, as to the same with her tail.
"Uhm, hello?" I tried to lure this orange pony out to talk to her, and befriend her.
"C'mon now AppleJack, this little filly want's to talk to you" Granny smith replied whilst turning round to see her.
As Granny Smith moved out of the way, I had come to realize she wasn't hiding but putting apples in to a basket.
"Well howdy partner, haven't seen you around ya'll new here?"
As she was talking to me my mum and dad came up from behind me.
"yeh, we just moved here, I was just going to Sugar Cube Corner wit..."
"Pinkamena Diane Pie! I have been looking everywhere for you, me and your mother have been worried sick" called a stallion that was walking over in relief.
"uh oh, I'm in big troubly wubbly" commented Pinkie as she lowered her head.
"Why in Equestria would you just walk off like this without telling us anything?"
"I just wanted to get a cupcake and I was going to come back straight away, I Pinkie promise!"
The stallion stood there and groaned, "well at least you are safe, That's all that matters"
"well howdy Pick, how's the farm?" Granny Smith questioned peacefully,
"It's going just fine Granny, How is the acres going?"
"Well me an AppleJack here thought we'd get some extra bits for some supplies, while Big Mac was plowing the fields to plant some seeds"
"Well I would love to stay and chat but we ought'ta be getting back we have a bit of work to do our own, right Pinkie?"
Pinkie was in a trance all the way through that conversation, quickly snapping out of it when her father started to talk to her.
"Huh, oh yeh, well I will see you later Vinyl, I will find you tomorrow in school"
Pick turned round and apologized for not talking to me or my mum and dad.
"Dearest apologies for being so rude, it's just been a tight schedule and with the little'en running around I haven't had time for idol chit chat"
My mum gestured with a hoof "no worries, this won't be the last time we bump into each other, that's for sure" smiling throughout.
"Bye pinkie see you at school!" I shouted as Pinkie started walking away with her father.
Sugar Cube Corner
We finally arrived at Sugar Cube Corner, to find it was made to look like a gingerbread house, I must of wasted about five minutes just looking at the outside, it looked good enough to eat!
A ring came from the door I looked and found my mum and dad waiting for me to come and join them to get a sweet treat to feast on.
"So, what do you want Vinyl? I know a chocolate fudge cupcake, no? A, lemon cupcake?" My dad trying have a little fun and name every one except my favorite.
"Dad! you know which is my favorite, mine is strawberry you said that before we came out!"
"ah yes, one strawberry cupcake please"
gesturing to one of the cupcakes behind the glass counter, and also a young light blue mare with an apron and a mane that looked a bit like candyfloss, I chuckled at that due to the fact she works at a candy store.
"Here you go sweetie, just take a seat over by the window if you like we will be over in a second" smiling whilst passing me my prize for the night.
I took a seat by the window, whilst my mum and dad was talking to the baker behind the counter, I stared out the window taking a biggish bite out of my cupcake, noticing all the Ponies walking around minding there own business, and the Apples looking as if they was packing up to get back to there acre, if that's where they stay the night?
I was soon joined by my mum and dad each with there own dessert, my mum with a lemon cupcake and my dad with a chocolate mu..
"MUFFFFIN!" a shout came from across the room.
We all darted are heads to find a gray Pegasus bolting towards us her eyes locked on what seemed to be the muffin or the floor, I really couldn't tell it looked like she had a problem with her sight
Just before the Pegasus jumped onto the table a set of hooves grabbed the little one before a mess of cupcake and icing was splattered everywhere.
"I'm so sorry she tends to get excited every time she see's a muffin, she has like and addiction of somewhat to them?"
"No need to apologize miss, here you go little one" my dad threw the muffin to the gray Pegasus.
As soon as it came from his hooves she had it half eaten.
"Now what do you say to the nice stallion Derpy?" looking down towards her child
"Famp u mifter" she said between bites.
The two gray pegasi's, big and small left for the streets, why didn't they fly away, hmm, maybe Derpy can't fly properly yet? maybe she will attend my scho..."ahh crud"
"Vinyl!"
New Teachers and Play Dates
Streets of Ponyville
It was getting late the street light's had came on lighting up Ponyville in a looming orange glow marking the path, the noticeable ring from the the confectionery shop door chimed it's tune and we all stepped out into the the ever slowly creeping night.
My dad came out not long after me,"We had best get moving before it get's to dark" he gestured looking around.
We was soon followed by my mum who was thanking the shop owner for the deserts, "yes dear, we will be home in a jiffy"
I started walking, faster then normal, it must of been that cupcake not having one in ages must of gave it a kick.
"Vinyl slow down sweety!" shouted my mum always trying to make sure I won't going to get in trouble everywhere I go.
"It's not like I am going to bump into any scary monst.."
I bumped straight into something tall and shaded, it's mane or fur was moving in a wave like way and it looked like it was was wearing a hood, it turned and seemed to look straight at me before it expanded big long wings and took off in a flash.
"What, was that!"
"Sweetie if I knew I would tell you straight away"
" we ought to be getting home, like right now you two!" my dad started to worry about us.
After a little bit of a walk we ended back at home where we would tun in for the night and await what brings tomorrow.
The Next Day
I awoke to smell daisy sandwiches, yet again I loved that my mum would get up early just to feed me and my mum for the morning and to keep us the day that awaited us, I ran downstairs stumbling due to the new house and it's new layout from my last homes, and found my dad had already eaten.
"Sorry Vinyl, you was to slow I had to eat your's too" patting his stomach from the inhale of food.
"Oh, stop teasing her, you know she loves daisy sandwiches in the morning!"
I sighed in relief into the fact I actually thought he was telling me the truth, I sat up at the table and dug into the morning's breakfast, and saw a white bag with a light blue edge and golden lock by the door.
"Why is there a random bag at the door mum?" stopping eating to ask my question
"It's your bag for school sweetheart" she replied whilst washing the dishes.
"Yeh you had better get going if you want to be there on time" commented my dad behind his newspaper.
"Oh, okay I will get going then" I grabbed the bag and threw it into my back and it sat one small bag on one side and another on the other side "cool!" I opened the door and headed towards Ponyville's Elementary school.
I walked past Sugar Cube Corner and a bunch of nicely done up houses, then to find myself at the outside fence of the school, I stood there thinking 'Is it just going to be the same as every other school I have been to where they all laugh at me? Well only one way to find out'
I started walking up the path to be tackled by, yes you guessed it, "Pinkie, what was that for?"
"I just wanted to surprise you because I love surprises don't you!" smiling furiously whilst laying on my back.
"Hahaha, that was pretty funny, hey want to walk to class with me?"
"Okie dokie lokie!" she started bouncing next to me at a pace where I could keep up, and we both went inside.
"Hey Pinkie, Vinyl, come over here!" AppleJack bawled across the room.
We both wandered over to see two empty seats "Uhm is this my seat?"
"yes indeedy, we asked miss Love Lock if you could sit next to us" replied AppleJack with a smug grin.
The door opened and two mares came in one young and one a little bit older "Right class we have a visitor here she will be helping here because she wants to be a teacher when she is older, so class say hello to Miss Cheerlie!"
The class looked towards her and called "Hello Miss Cheerlie!"
"We also have a new student, Vinyl? where are you dear, ah there you are why dont you come up front and tell us about your self"
I sat stiff as a tree "Ahh horse apples!"
I got to my hooves and walked to the front, I turned facing all the glaring eyes shooting razors at me I simply said "uhmm, hi my name is Vinyl Scratch and I just moved into Ponyville"
"well done Vinyl, now everybody say hello to vinyl, ready 1, 2, 3"
"Hello Vinyl!" everyone said in unison except for Pinkie who shouted a second after.
Throughout the school day Miss Cheerlie and Miss Love Lock was going around helping everybody throughout each criteria, especially AppleJack when we had moved onto mathematics.
"A darn hate mathematics, it just boggles ma mind!"
Pinkie commented straight after getting AJ out of her funk "boggledy woggledy" rotating her hooves around her head and sticking her tongue out, staright away causing a fit of laughter, to then be hushed by Miss Love Lock.
About an hour later the school bell chimed and everyone was sent on home.
"Hey Vinyl, are you coming out today we will show some more of our friends?"
"I would love that Pinkie, is AJ coming?"
"Yeh, we can go get Rarity too!"
"Rarity?"
"she is another friend of ours, she helps at the boutique with her mother"
"yeh okay Pinkie call for me when you are ready!"
With a play date arranged I headed home to get ready and await my new friends to call for me ' I wonder what this Rarity is like?'
Pony Poks and Big Brothers
Home Sweet Home
I ran as fast as I could go, 'just one more corner, there it is'.
I stopped in my tracks, the door it was open just a bit and no one was standing there, I slowly entered my home, opening the door to a big thick wall of smoke, I choked and coughed, and when the door had hit the wall all the smoke was rushing out into the outside world, revealing all hidden behind the wall.
"See this is what happens when I leave to get some groceries and leave you to cook!"
Holding a hoof to her head and trying to shake off the thin layer of smoke, that had stayed clinging to her the entire time criticizing my dad.
"Hahahaha, you look like a raincloud!" his signature humor overthrowing the dreaded stare my mum launched towards him, then breaking into a fit of laughter.
I simply smirked and walked over, the rest of the smoke seemed to be rushing out of the window, what was left of it that is.
"Hey Mom, Dad, can I go out tonight with Pinkie Pie and Applejack?"
"Well of course dear, but, you have to clean yourself up first" She replied devilishly grinning
"But, I'm not dirt-"
With a quick swipe she graced my face with a big long grey streak on my cheek.
"Muuuuum!"
We all started laughing again, I swear my family has a laughing disease or something.
"Okay, I am gonna go clean this beautiful streak of my face, and go meet my friends, if they don't knock for me first"
I walked upstairs went straight into the bathroom, placing my saddlebag just outside, and pulled myself onto a little stool so I could see this smear on my face, I grabbed the cloth ran it under the tap and started scrubbing within a few seconds the smear was gone, I though to myself I might as well clean my teeth while I'm here, this also gave me time to maintain my levitation spell, 'Toothbrush check! Toothpaste check! Now all I gotta do is put the toothpaste onto th-'
*SPLAT*
"Awwww, apple buckets!"
The mirror, the sink, the floor heck even me was now a new brand of toothpaste from that explosion of minty freshness, a cloth in hand and a while before the others would show up I had started to clean the bathroom.
A few moments later
Done! Now where was I, ah yes, I tried again more gentle this time and knowing there wouldn't be another explosion due to the toothpaste practically being gone now, I cleaned my teeth, and with a big gleaming smile, I was satisfied, I jumped down from the little stool and hurried downstairs, now if I was telepathic I wouldn't of gone down at the exact time Pinkie and that would show up, I opened the door to reveal the ball of fun, the cow girl and the-
"You again!"
"MUFFFFFFFIN!" shouting as she launched into the air
"We bumped into her on the way here, she said she was trying to find something to keep her occupied while her mum was working, she only lives round the corner she was just sitting there looking at the ground, well at least I thought it was the ground" still hopping around as usual.
The grey Pegasus stood there staring for a while, man I always got confused who or what she was looking at until she finally stated.
"MUFFIN!"
"uh heh, yeh my daddy was the one who gave you that muffin, did you like it?"
She didn't reply, she simply shook her head up and down, pretty much like a rag doll would if it was being played with by a two year old.
I moved my head slowly away from the Pegasus's glance and looked toward Pinkie and AJ, "so where we heading?"
"Oh, oh, that's easy we are, we are going to, to" she finally started to go bog eyed from the intense thinking.
"We are goin ta'git Rarity" AJ said humbly crossing her forelegs.
"Awwwh, why do you always beat me to it!"
AJ, just chuckled and we went on our way, my mum and dad standing outside waving me off for the day.
Streets of Ponyville
The first thing anyone wanted was to try and get Rarity out from the boutique she seems to be all over the fashion ever since she got her Cutie-Mark for it, her mum, apparently helps her friend out at the boutique, she either models for her friend her helps with supplies for her dresses, Rarity's parents are also a bit on the country side to.
"were here guys!" shouted AJ from up ahead.
The Boutique had fancy poles and decorations all around the outside, and a big purple door, out of nowhere Pinkie cam bouncing over me and kinda attacked the door with her face, like a woodpecker would do with her face, hoofsteps were heard from inside the Boutique and then the top half opened up, to reveal a pink mare with big purple hair do.
"Hey is Rarity in, we didn't see her in school today?"
"Oh, very sorry girl's she isn't very well today she has the pony poks, best keep her resting"
"Oh, ok tell her we said hope she gets better" AJ replied with her common smug grin.
At this point we completely got all caught up with getting Rarity to come out, we had forgot about Derpy, who was trying to wrestle a sign which had a picture of a muffin on it, she toppled it at one point and sat staring down at the sign, waiting for it to give up it's picture nothing else.
"Derpy! That's a sign not an actual muffin"
"But, but, muffin"
"uhm, yeh so shall we go to the park or something?"
"sounds like a swell idea pard'ner"
I noticed she always has that hat, why does she always have it?
"AJ, why do you always have that hat?"
"Well it's mah brothers, and it's darn funny when he find's out I keep takin' it from im" she chuckled at that.
So we all headed to the park so we could do multiple things for a bit of fun for the evening, it didn't take us long to reach to park due to it being right close to the Boutique, we entered the park to get confronted by some young stallions, who looked as if they didn't want us here.
"What are you doing coming to our park?" the first one stated stepping forward and blocking our entrance further onto the park.
"yeh, why don't you go home and play with your silly dolls" the three of them chuckled at that.
These stallions appeared to be kids who just left our school, apparently the same year as AJ's big brother
"Hey, you are Mac's dumb little sister" pointed the third stallion.
"Yes ah am, what about it?"
"We had gotten into a bit of trouble at school because of your brother, oh, and it seems you have his hat" the third one was the biggest of them, he stepped forward and nabbed the prized family hat off AJ.
"HEY, give that back, t'aint yours!"
AJ jumped onto the stallions back and tried to retrieve the hat back off him, the stallion without thinking reared and knocked AJ of his back, now if there was a superhero with super hearing, none could amount to big Mac's hearing when it came to his little sister.
"Scuse me, but that isn't a way to treat a little'en, especially my sister"
Mac literally materialized out of thin air behind the third stallion, his posture crumbling into a crouch from the towering mountain that was Macintosh.
"uhm heheh, hi Mac, w-we were just playing is all"
His voice trembled furiously, shocked by his towering foe overhead.
"A suggest , you say sorry to mah sis, and give her the hat, like a good little foal"
The stallions hooves shook and quivered wrestling the hat off his head and towards AJ.
"He-here you go, missy, sorry for hurting you" is lip started to tremble like the rest of his body.
"Now, git" Mac tossed his hair in order to vanish.
"Thanks big brother!"
"It's what a big brothers for AJ, now go play with your friends and take good care of the hat, okay?"
"I will, thanks Mac"
He started walking away the mountain of a stallion sticking up for four fillies, as soon as he turned a corner we looked straight at AJ.
"what?"
With a simultaneous grin, we all cheered for Mac, that he could still probably hear from where he was.
We finally got to playing and laughing, throughout the evening until the sun was almost gone we played and played non stop, well until all my our parents came for each of us, we all said our goodbye's and set off home, to wait for the next adventure that awaited us the next day.
