Here We Go

Jake's eyes slowly blinked open. He did it a few times as the light from the sun caused pain to his eyes. After a while, Jake's pupils had dilated to the light, and he was able to have them open all the way. He shook his head as he looked around. Jake could see that he was in a large clearing with only a few trees around him. He pushed himself up and started to stretch out. Well at least I didn't die jumping through the portal. He grabbed his shoulders, but as he was clutching his right shoulder, he noticed something was very different with his left hand. He looked down to see it covered with a metal exoskeleton. It reminded him of the Snag Machine from Pokemon XD. It was the same design as well. Why the hell do I have the Snag Machine? He then left something hooked over his left ear also and pulled it off to see the same Aura Reader from the game.

"Like your new look."

Jake back to see Discord floating over to him.

"I wouldn't consider a metal arm and optic piece a change to my plain t-shirt and sports shorts." Said Jake

"Sorry, I can't give some more stylish clothes. I'm not a fashion designer. So you'll have to ask somepony who is." Said Discord

"Why 'somepony' and not someone?" Asked Jake

"Oh, somepony is the correct wording here in Equestria. As you will find out Jake, this isn't exactly Earth." Said Discord

"Ok, now to more important matters, what is with giving me the Snag Machine and Aura Reader." Said Jake

"Ok." Discord snapped in a piece of paper and a pair of glasses. "The machine on your arm is called a Snag Machine, and the optical part is your Aura Reader. They will help you on your journey to fight this dark presence."

"That's all." Said Jake

"That's all." Said Discord

"That wasn't helpful at all. You told me nothing more than what I knew already." Said Jake

"Well, that's all the page in my hand has on it." Said Discord

Jake just grabbed his hair as he looked at the Lord of Chaos. How did I get stuck with him? Jake stuck his hands in his pockets, but as he was doing so, his left hand rubbed across something on his pants. He pulled up his shirt to see an attachment to his pants that held six Poke Balls. No, freaking way! Real Poke Balls. He picked one up and pressed the middle button. It enlarged to a full-size Poke Ball. He ran his finger over it. This still seems so unreal. Discord came over and looked over his shoulder

"I see you found your team." Said Discord

"My team." Said Jake

"Well, you need a team to face the dark presence's Shadow Pokemon. So I gave your perfect Pokemon team of your own." Said Discord

"Why do I have the feeling that you lied about just picking me because I was the first human you saw. That in truth, someone, I mean somepony, told you to find me," said Jake with a deadpan look on his face.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," said Discord with a scrunched up face and eyes darting back and forth.

"Right, now mind telling me who you gave me." Said Jake

"Why not see for yourself. Click the button on your Aura Reader." Said Discord

Jake shrank the Poke Ball and placed it back with the others and lifted his hand up and touched the button on the optic piece and it clicked on. A little screen appeared over his eye. It came to life as it powered on. Jake looked over to see Discord snap another piece of paper into existence, as well as, his glasses. Really. He cleared his throat before speaking.

"The Aura Reader is an optic piece that allows trainers to watch over their Pokemon. It allows the Pokemon trainer also to see the power of your opponents Pokemon as well. It will give you stats about what has happened to your Pokemon. To see your team, just click the arrows on the side of the optic to scroll through your team. To power off the Aura Reader, press the middle button again." Said Discord

Jake found the divots next to the power button. He pressed it, and Eevee came up. Now on the screen was Eevee's stats as bars and the gender of my Eevee, which happened to be female. Jason clicked over to the next one to see a female Mareep. Next was a female Ralts, a female Espurr, a female Zorua, and a female Cyndaquil. It was six of Jake's favorite Pokemon, but Jake wondered how Discord even knew how he liked these six Pokemon. But Jake knew not to question a crazy creature that's the god of chaos.

"I'm not going to ask how you found that I like these Pokemon, but I am going to question why they are all female." Said Jake

"I didn't know you were gender-specific." Said Discord

Jake clicked the button on my Aura Reader, shutting it off. "Well, you don't have to be testy about it. The only Pokemon I care about gender is Espurr because I love the female Meowstic more."

"I'm glad now we should move forward. We have things to do, partner." Said Discord

"Partners, when did we agree to be partners." Said Jake

"Tell me, do you have a clue how to survive in a world that isn't Earth." Said Discord

Jake was silent as he opened his mouth to respond, but closed it. He placed his finger on his chin before opening his mouth but immediately closing it. He sighed as he had nothing. "Your right."

"Now you see why we're partners." Said Discord

"I see, but I'm not sure I want to be. But I don't have much of a choice since I have no idea how to survive in a world like yours. But before we become official partners, we shack on it," said Jake as he stretched out his left hand

"I can do that." Said Discord

Discord stretched out his lion's paw and took a grasp of Jake's hand. They had shaken each other's hands before a female scream echoed around them.

"What was that?" Asked Jake

"Somepony in need of help. Come on Jake, time to be a hero," said Discord doing a superhero pose.

"As long as you don't do stuff like that again." Said Jake

"Fine, now let's go." Said Discord

Discord hovered in the air as Jake ran on the ground. They came out to another clearing where dark smoke was hanging over something. The two stopped as they looked at the smoke.

"Let me guess. The dark presence that has been attacking your planet." Said Jake

"You would be correct." Said Discord

The smoke moved away, and Jake's eyes widened. Behind the smoke was a purple pony. What the? The purple pony had a sapphire mane with violet and rose streaks going through it. A set of wings sat on the pony's back with a horn on the head. A tattoo sat on her plot that was a star with white points coming out with smaller white stars around it.

"Twilight." Said Discord

"You know that purple pony." Said Jake

"Yes, that purple pony is Princess Twilight Sparkle." Said Discord

"You are too late. The princess is already ours." Said the smoke

"Well, sorry to burst your bubble. But we won't let you take Twilight." Said Discord

"Yeah, free the princess." Said Jake

"Fools, you think you can stop me." Said the smoke

"Well, I can't but my friend Jake can." Said Discord

"The strange hairless monkey is going to beat me." Said the smoke

"Hairless monkey, well that's a new one. But I'm a human, and I do hope you remember it." Said Jake

"Hm, human." Said the smoke

The smoked started to form together. Discord and Jake watched as the smoke created a human body. Now the smoke stood as a human, but still made of smoke.

"You didn't tell me they could do that." Said Jake

"Trust me. I had no idea that the smoke could either." Said Discord

"Enough talk, I must deliver the princess to my leader." Said the smoke

"Sorry creepy smoke person, I can't let you do that." Said Jake

"Then I'll have to defeat you." Said the smoke

The smoke human formed a Poke Ball into its hand. It tossed it out, and the Poke Ball opened, and a Shadow Porygon appeared. The smoke human threw out a Shadow Porygon. If I remember, Porygon is a Normal Type Pokemon, which means fighting is the only advantage, while ghost Pokemon can't even do a thing. But I don't have a Fighting Type. So let's see, he wants to play with a Normal Type Pokemon. Then I'll do the same. Jake pressed on his Aura Reader and pushed the arrows over to Eevee. Jake noticed a small number ranging from one to six. I wonder if the number in the corner corresponds to the Poke Ball that holds that Pokemon. Jake took his hand on the first Poke Ball and brought it up. He tossed it out.

"Go, Eevee!" Said Jake

The Poke Ball opened, and the white energy came out. It formed as Jake caught the Poke Ball. The light exploded, and there stood an Eevee.

"Eevee."

"One man, that is too cute." Said Jake

"Maybe you should suppress you girly outbursts till you have beaten the smoke human." Said Discord

"Hey, I was geeking out, not acting girly." Said Jake

"Could have fooled me." Said Discord

"If two have finished arguing, I think it's time we battle." Said the smoke human

"Gladly." Said Jake

Eevee and Porygon faced each other with Jake and Discord on one side and the smoke human on the other.

"Jake listen, your Aura Reader will give you everything you need to know about your foes Pokemon as well as your Pokemon. It will also give you all the moves your Pokemon have at their disposal." Said Discord

"Thanks, now let's see what I can get about this Porygon." Said Jake

Jake looked at the Porygon, and a set of bars appeared on the screen. Hm, Nothing unusual about that Shadow Porygon, which is also correct about Eevee. Hm, so Tackle and Tail Whip are her only moves. I have no idea what Porygon can do, so I'll have to watch him.

"Porygon, Tackle that Eevee." Said the smoke human

Porygon fly at Eevee as Eevee stood ready.

"Crap, what do I do." Said Jake

"Give your Eevee a command, like I don't know, dodge." Said Discord

"Oh right, this isn't the video game. This battle is more like the anime, which means I can tell Eevee to dodge. Eevee dodge Porygon's attack." Said, Jake

Eevee at the last second jumped out of the way.

"Now that's it Eevee. Man, this is better than any video game or daydream." Said Jake

"I think you should concentrate on the fight at hand because if you lose, we lose Twilight. Now get to work." Said Discord

"Right, Eevee use Tail Whip on Porygon, let's lower some of that defense." Said Jake

"Eevee."

Eevee began to wave around its tail, and a circle of energy appeared around it. Eevee shot the power at Porygon, which circled Porygon before disappearing.

"Well, that was interesting." Said Jake

"Check out Porygon on your Aura Reader, and you will see your move's effect." Said Discord

Jake did as he said and an arrow pointing down with the initials for defense next to it. "Interesting, so Aura Reader allows me to see stat changes."

"Yes, now get your head in the game." Said Discord

"Right, Eevee show that imposter Porygon what a real Pokemon can do, Tackle." Said Jake

Eevee ran at Porygon at full speed. It leaped into the air and struck Porygon. Jake cheered as Eevee landed perfectly fine.

"Excellent work Eevee." Said Jake

"Eevee."

"You think will that faze my Porygon, that is funny. Use Quick Attack to strike a blow to that Eevee." Said the smoke human

The Porygon fly towards Eevee, disappearing and reappearing before striking Eevee hard and forcing her to roll across the ground before Eevee got back up.

"Darn, that was a direct attack." Said Jake

"Jake another point I should bring up is the health of your Pokemon. Use your Aura Reader to see what I'm getting at." Said Discord

Jake looked at Eevee through his Aura Reader and saw a green meter turning into red meter "I see a green meter that has slightly transformed into a red meter."

"That's your Pokemon's health bar, never let it fall completely to red. I know you know what that means." Said Discord

"My Pokemon faints, and I lose the fight. Alright, but does that work for my opponent's Pokemon." Said Jake

"Sadly Jake, no, but you should be able to tell when your opponent's Pokemon is on the verge of losing." Said Discord

"Right, Eevee," Eevee looked back at Jake. "Time for another Tail Whip, let's bring down that defense."

Eevee charged another Tail Whip, but the smoke human wasn't going to allow that.

"Porygon, Quick Attack once more."

Porygon once again came at Eevee as she charged a Tail Whip. Jake saw the Porygon coming towards his Pokemon. Time to get her out of the way. Jake gave his order to Eevee.

"Eevee dodge." Eevee jumped away as Porygon reached her. Porygon looked around for his target. "Now finish your Tail Whip." Eevee landed and finished charging Tail Whip and sent it at Porygon. It caught Porygon and Jake smiled as Porygon's defense fell once more. "Now Tackle." Eevee ran forward and struck Porygon straight in the back. Porygon fell to the ground as Eevee landed on the other side.

"Now that's how we get it done." Said Jake

"Excellent work." Said Discord

The smoke human growled as Porygon got up. Eevee readied herself, and Jake watched as a new move appeared, Eevee had learned Quick Attack. How did Eevee already learn Quick Attack.

"Eevee felt the love you had for her and created a bond with you. Through that bond, Eevee learned a new move to help you." Said Discord

"Were you reading my thoughts." Said Jake

"Just this one time." Said Discord

"Well don't plan on doing it anymore, that's too creepy. But besides the point, Eevee let's try out your new move. Go Eevee use Quick Attack." Said Jake

Eevee started to run faster and faster, slowly inching closer and closer to Porygon. Porygon tried to do something. But it was too weak to do anything. Eevee jumped into the air and struck Porygon in the chest, which sent it barreling towards the ground. It crashed into the dirt and fainted. Jake cheered as Eevee had won. Discord smiled as the smoke human just growled.

"Yes, my first real life Pokemon battle and I won." Eevee ran up and jumped into Jake's arm. "You did great as well Eevee."

"Eevee, Eev."

"Don't get too excited Jake the human. You haven't seen the last of us." Said the smoke

"Yeah smoky, well I'm here to stay." Said, Jake

"Ha, funny to think you can stop us. But you haven't seen the last of Team Catastrophe." Said the smoke human

The smoke being turned back into smoke before disappearing. Team Catastrophe, I swear that has to be the worst Pokemon villain team name ever. Jake just shook his head as he let down Eevee and stroked her head before placing her back in her Poke Ball and placing it on his belt. He walked over and looked at the knocked out pony.

"I guess this proves I'm not on Earth anymore." Said Jake

"At least you saved her from Team Catastrophe's clutches." Said Discord

"But why did Team Catastrophe need, um, Twilight." Said Jake

"Team Catastrophe have been trying to get the princesses of Equestria ever since they appeared. It seems they need them for something, but what is still a mystery." Said Discord

"Well, now what do we do?" Asked Jake

"We take her back to her home in Ponyville." Said Discord

Jake watched as Discord started to float ahead. Jake looked at him and the pony. You have to be kidding me. He's making me carry the pony princess. He bent down and picked her up and held her like he would a new bride. Luckly enough she doesn't weigh that much. He saw Discord waving him forward.

"Discord why are you making me carry the princess." Said Jake

"Because you're the hero and I'm just the sidekick. The hero is the one that always saves the princess. I'm here to give moral support." Said Discord

"Ha, hilarious Discord." Said Jake

Author's Note

So here is the second chapter. So a quick few notes, first Team Smoke. Um, yeah that's all I got. If anybody has a better name, by all means, send them over. (Team Smoked are now Team Catastrophe) Next, my first written Pokemon battle, so I hope you all enjoyed it. I hope to get better as I move on. I guess that's it. Aura Reader: A device that allows Jake to see his Pokemon's moves, stats, gender, his team and the health of his Pokemon. It also allows him to see the stats of his opponents. It also allows him to see when his Pokemon loses health and drops in stats on both sides.
