Gaining New Friends

Twilight's lavender eyes opened to see the world around her. She moved her hooves and felt the comfort of her covers. She got up and rubbed her head as she looked around. How did I get in my room? She slowly got out of bed and stretched out her body. But a pain came to her head. Gosh, what did I do to my head? Twilight rubbed the spot and found a nice bruise sitting on her head. Oh that hurts, but how did I get it? Twilight closed her eyes as she rubbed her chin with her hoof. A lightbulb popped into her head as he realized what had happened. I was on the wooded trails next to Ponyville trying to figure out Team Catastrophe. When I heard a snap, and I blacked out after that. But that doesn't explain how I got back home or in my bed. Twilight looked to see her door open, and her assistant, Spike, came in. His purple and green scales still the same as she remembered them.

"Good Twilight your up. I was worried when Discord and some hairless monkey calling himself Jake, appeared at the front door with you knocked out."Said Spike

"I guess a Team Catastrophe grunt got the better of me, wait, a hairless monkey." Said Twilight

"Yeah, he's calling himself Jake, whatever that is." Said Spike

A smile grew on Twilight's face as a new creature was standing right in her library. She ran down the stairs causing Spike to spin in place and fall to the floor. Twilight trotted down the stairs and couldn't believe her eyes. There sitting on her couch was a hairless monkey. She ran forward and jumped onto the sofa and started to poke the hairless monkey. Jake, the hairless monkey, looked over at the lavender pony poking him with her hoof.

"Could you please stop with the poking." Said Jake

She screamed as jumped off the couch causing Discord and Fluttershy, the butter yellow Pegasus with the overly sizeable pink mane, to come into the room. Twilight poked her head up and spoke.

"You can talk Equestrian." Said Twilight

"More like you're speaking English." Said Jake

"In truth both answers are right." Said Discord

"Amazing." Twilight started to use her wings to fly around Jake and poke him. "You are simply an amazing creature for whatever a Jake is."

"What, did you call me a Jake." Said Jake

"Yes, my assistant Spike says that's what you call yourself." Said Twilight

"No, Jake is my name. I'm what's called a human." Said Jake

"But aren't you still a hairless ape." Said Twilight

"Well, I guess that's not completely off, but I do wish you neon colored ponies would stop calling me a hairless ape or monkey. I mean, sure humans are related to primates, but..." Jake stopped as he heard scratching on paper. He turned to see the lavender pony writing everything he said down. "Are you writing down what I'm saying?"

"Yes, every word. Now if you would be so kind to continue your rant about humans and primates." Said Twilight

"Um, well as I was saying, humans and monkeys do share similar traits. But we are two entirely different species. So I would like it if you would no longer call me a hairless Monkey and call me by my real name, Jake." Said Jake

"Understood, by the way, my name is Princess Twilight Sparkle. The newest princess to the nation of Equestria." Said Twilight

"Yeah, your dragon assistant and your friend Fluttershy told me all about you." Said Jake

"I'm glad which means, I can ask you plenty of questions about you. Like, what do you eat, what are your favorites colors, can you use magic, where do you come from, and so much more."

Jake was pushed near the edge of the couch as Twilight was right in his face with a broad smile. Jake darted his eyes back and forth as sweat came down his face. Suddenly, Twilight was lifted into the air and floated away from him.

"No worries Twilight. Jake will happily answer all your questions when all our friends come over. But in the meantime, try not to scare your savior." Said Discord

"Ok, I think, wait, savior." Said Twilight

"Oh yes, Discord and Jake were telling Spike and me how they saved you from Team Catastrophe." Said Fluttershy

"But how Team Catastrophe is using some weapon we've never seen before." Said Twilight

"Well, then it's a good thing I know how to fight them." Said Jake

"I don't understand how you would be able to fight them." Said Twilight

"Jake why don't show Twilight, how you won." Said Discord

Jake pulled off one of his Poke Balls and tossed it up. It opened and revealed Eevee. As soon as Twilight laid eyes on Eevee, her eyes widened and began to twitch. She began to scream at the top of her lungs.

"Why do you have one of those weapons?" Asked Twilight

"Calm down Twilight. These aren't the same Pokemon." Said Fluttershy

"Pokemon." Said Twilight

"The weapons Team Catastrophe is using are called Pokemon. Well, they are more like dark versions of Pokemon. These are the actual Pokemon." Said Jake

"You know Team Catastrophe Pokemon are like shadows of real Pokemon. Maybe we should call them Shadow Pokemon." Said Discord

"Not a bad name, considering I already knew that." Said Jake

"So these Pokemon, as you called them, are on our side." Said Twilight

"Yes, they are," said Fluttershy stroking Eevee's head.

"So I suppose you can control your Pokemon." Said Twilight

"Control is such a harsh word. I would say my Pokemon, and I are more like partners. I make sure they are safe and in turn help me when I call upon them." Said Jake

"How many of these Pokemon do you have with you?" Asked Twilight.

"Including Eevee, I have six Pokemon." Said Jake

"Six Pokemon altogether," said Twilight with twitchy eyes.

"Calm down Twilight. I will personally make sure our friend doesn't think about crossing any lines." Said Discord

"Thanks for the trust, Discord," said Jake with a deadpan look.

"Twilight come over and pet Eevee. You'll see how sweet she is and how she won't hurt us like the Shadow Pokemon of Team Catastrophe." Said Fluttershy

Twilight slowly approached Eevee. Sweat rolled down her face as she approached the Pokemon. Once she stood in front of Eevee, she raised a hoof up to rub Eevee's head. I can't believe that I'm going to pet the very weapon that has been destroying Equestria and all the nations of Eques. But it doesn't look like anything that Team Catastrophe uses. Twilight rested her hoof on Eevee's and started to stroke her head.

"Eevee, Eev."

"See, Eevee is such a sweet creature." Said Fluttershy

"You're right Fluttershy. She's nothing like Team Catastrophe's Pokemon." Said Twilight

"Ah, somepony should take a picture." Said Discord

Soon the door opened up, and Twilight's friends came in. First into the room was the bouncing off the wall, utterly pink pony, Pinkie Pie. Followed by the high-class white unicorn with the violet curled mane, Rarity. Rainbow Dash, the speedster cyan Pegasus with the rainbow mane, flew on inside. Last in was the western earth pony with the orange fur and blond mane and old Stetson, Applejack. Twilight walked up to them and gave them each a hug.

"Twilight we were so worried when we heard the news." Said Rarity

"Yeah, ya ok Sugarcube." Said Applejack

"Yes, lucky for me Discord and Jake were there to help." Said Twilight

The ponies looked behind them to see Jake and Discord waving at them. They looked back at Twilight, and she quickly explained everything before the ponies introduced themselves to Jake.

"So Twilight now, that all our friends are here. You can ask Jake all the questions you want." Said Discord

A board smile plastered itself on Twilight's face as she brought up a scroll and quill pen. "Oh, I sure will."

Jake felt a shiver down his spine. Well, that wasn't creepy at all.

Jake sat back on the sofa as he stroked Eevee's head. He gave a happy sigh as it was over. Jake had told the girls everything, from Earth, the history of his people, about himself and Pokemon. He left out the fact that back on Earth, Pokemon was just a game. He had also answered every question that popped into Twilight's head. Twilight had happily gone through scroll after scroll writing every word Jake told her. Filled scrolls sat around her like a tornado had just passed over her. She finally set the last paper down and started to compile them all together before paper clipping them and placing them on her desk.

"I'm impressed you got that much info from everything I told you." Said Jake

"Well, I need thorough notes when I report this all to Princess Celestia." Said Twilight

"Um, yeah. Twilight you don't mind telling about your world. While you were out, I was explaining myself to Fluttershy and Spike. I was hoping to get some info from Fluttershy, but you came down, and well you remember all that." Said Jake

"No problem." Said Twilight

Twilight started to tell Jake all about Equestria. She spoke about the princesses who rule over the land. The princesses are a pony race known as Alicorns. An Alicorn was the combination of all three species of ponies that inhabited Equestria. The princesses are, Princess Celestia who raises the sun, her sister Princess Luna who raises the moon, and the niece of Celestia and Luna, Princess Cadance who watches over the love of ponies. Twilight was the newest and hadn't figured out what she was a princess of yet. Twilight also talked about the three races that existed on Equestria. The unicorn, which had the talent of magic thanks to the horn on their heads, the Pegasi who dealt with the weather and the earth pony, who dealt with the land.

"So did you get it all." Said Twilight

"I think so, but can ask another question." Said Jake

"Sure." Said Twilight

"What's up with the tattoos on each of your butts." Said Jake

Twilight looked at her cutie mark and smiled. "Jake these 'tattoos' as you called it are called cutie marks. They appear on our plot when we find out talent. Mine is for my natural ability in magic."

"Mine darling is for my eye of fashion," said Rarity pointing out her three diamond cutie mark.

"The butterflies of my cutie mark mean my love for caring for animals. It also always me to understand what they say." Said Fluttershy

"The cloud with the rainbow lightning bolt coming out means my love for speed and competition." Said Rainbow

"As ya probably guess from mine, I farm apples," said Applejack looking at her cutie mark.

"Oh, my balloons mean my love for making ponies smile and parties. Which reminds me, I have to plan your 'Welcome to Ponyville' Party." Said Pinkie

Pinkie jumped up from her seat and bounced out the door.

"Is she always that hyper." Said Jake

"Yes, she is darling." Said Rarity

"Also try not to understand Pinkie Pie. She is a mystery that no pony can figure out. Trust me. You'll know it when you see it." Said Twilight

"Jake, can I see the rest of your Pokemon." Said Fluttershy

"Sure." Said Jake

Eevee jumped off his lap, and Jake took off the other five Poke Balls. He tossed them up into the air and they each opened. The white energy came down and formed each Pokemon. The energy exploded off them, and there his Pokemon stood, in front of the ponies in the library. Fluttershy just went up and looked at them all.

"So what are their names, Jake?" Asked Fluttershy

"From left to right, you have Eevee, Mareep, Ralts, Espurr, Zorua, and Cyndaquil." Said Jake

"So cute." Said Fluttershy

"I have to say so too." Said Jake

"Don't tell me you're going to go all girly again." Said Discord

"I told you, I was geeking out, and no I wasn't planning on it." Said Jake

"So Jake, you say Pokemon have many different types, which types do you have." Said Twilight

"Well, Eevee is a Normal Type, Mareep is an Electric Type, Ralts is both a Psychic and Fairy type, Espurr is a Psychic Type, Zorua is a Dark Type, and Cyndaquil is a Fire Type." Said Jake

"Sounds like ya got a strong team." Said Applejack

"Sure do." Said Jake

"So you think you can defeat Team Catastrophe and their Shadow Pokemon with your team of Pokemon." Said Rarity

"With these six Pokemon by my side, I know I can." Said Jake

The Pokemon made their noises as a response to Jake. He jumped into the air and cheered that he was a real trainer now with actual Pokemon. The girls smiled and giggled at Jake. His Pokemon team was as happy as he was as they spoke out about it. But Discord sat looking at Jake and his Pokemon team. I hope you can do it, Jake. Many trails are ahead of you. Trails that will truly test if you are the hero Eques needs. They will also check to see if you truly can master these Pokemon. Only time will tell if you can pass these trails.

So the second chapter is official done. Not much of notes here for this chapter expect to give credit to a someone. As I asked in the last chapter with help with figuring out a better team name for our villains. I want to thank D4pylicious, Darkscout99, and Demon Baron Astaroth for submitting team names. It came down to Team Eclipse by Darkscout99 and Team Catastrophe by Demon Baron Astaroth. Team Catastrophe won and will be the official team name of our villains. I thank all who submitted team names. Also, thank Demon Baron Astaroth for the name as it was his.

I would also like to ask all those who watch this story another question. My last two stories have had openers if you want an opener comment on this chapter. If I get five or more comments wanting an opener, I will make one. Also, feel free to give any ideas of anime openers for this story.
