Adoption

Ponies of Ponyville walked around the large adoption fair set up in the market of Ponyville. Today, Princess Celestia came down with her project of allowing ponies to adopt the Pokemon that she rescued from the illegal fighting rings. She wanted to give all the Pokemon a chance of finding a home. Celestia had already had the fair in many towns across Equestria. Her next stop was Ponyville. Everypony was out and see if they wished to adopt a Pokemon or even become a Pokemon trainer. The mane six and Jake were all walking around the fair all looking for a new Pokemon. These are their stories while at the adoption fair.

Applejack

Applejack walked around the fair looking at all the different types of Pokemon. After waking up to the morning sun and finishing her morning tasks, a Solar Guard approached her and told her about the adoption fair that was happening in Ponyville market today. Applejack thought about going out and checking out the Pokemon. She looked over at her new Arcanine. After coming home with the Fire Stone given to her by Jake, she asked if Growlithe would want to evolve. He seemed to want to as he pressed his head into the stone and evolved into an Arcanine.

Applejack thanked the guard as he flew off. Applejack decided that it was worth going and checking out the Pokemon. It just seemed right to give a chance to a Pokemon that only knew pain and suffering. She took Arcanine with her as they walked out to the market. Once they reached, Applejack noticed how the fair was set up. The festival had eighteen different sections for each of the eighteen Pokemon types. A few booths sold food and others allowed ponies to sign up to be trainers. Applejack scratched her head as she looked around.

"Where the hay do we start?" Asked Applejack

"Arcanine."

"Well, let's just walk around and see what we find." Said Applejack

Arcanine nodded, and the two began to walk around the fair.

Applejack had already visited the Ice Type Pokemon and Grass Type Pokemon. She liked a few of the Pokemon from both types but decided not to adopt them. She kept walking around thinking about the right Pokemon type for her. She looked back at her Arcanine, and it seemed to click for her.

"I know, instead of type, maybe I should look for species. My family loves Winona and Winona is a dog. You're a dog Arcanine, so let's find a dog-like Pokemon." Said Applejack

"Arcanine."

"Hmm, I wish Jake was around, he could tell where tah look." Said Applejack

Applejack tapped her her chin and looked around. The closet sections in front of her were Fairy Type or Dark Type. Applejack decided to go into the Dark Type section of the fair. She walked around looking at all the Dark Types. She then appeared in front of a pin with many different dog-like Pokemon running around. A pony walked up to Applejack as she watched them play.

"Enjoying watching them."

Applejack turned to the pony and saw it was a stallion. The stallion had a silver coat and black mane. His eyes were a grey color. He had a horn on top of his head making him a unicorn. The stallion's cutie mark was a pair of crossed spears. The stallion was wearing a Solar Guards battle armor. He smiled at Applejack.

"Yeah, they sure are a lot of fun to watch." Said Applejack

"Yes, they happen to be hatchlings. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Dual Strike, Lieutenant in the 3rd regiment." He said

"Nice tah meet ya. I'm Applejack and behind me is my Pokemon partner, Arcanine." Said Applejack

"Arcanine."

"You have a handsome Pokemon with you. I suppose you're here looking for a new Pokemon to join you." Said Dual

"You can say that. Arcanine is excellent, but I feel compelled to give a home tah new Pokemon." Said Applejack

"Well, that's why the Princess is organizing this fair, to give a chance to all these Pokemon for a new home and life." Said Dual

"So I guess ya know about Dark Type Pokemon." Said Applejack

"You are correct. After Professor Cottonwood came to Canterlot, the princess chose her best guards to learn about each type of Pokemon. I got Dark Types, so know all about Dark Types and those Pokemon that are of that type." Said Dual

"So what can ya tell me about the Pokemon in the pin?" Asked Applejack

"Yes." Dual and Applejack walked over to the pin. "The pin here holds two Pokemon." Daul pointed to a Pokemon covered in grey fur. "That one is Poochyena the Bite Pokemon. It's Dark Type Pokemon and evolves into Mightyena." Dual then the other Pokemon which was black and had what looked bones on its body. "That one is Houndour the Dark Pokemon. It's a Fire and Dark Type Pokemon that evolves into Houndoom. We found these Pokemon as eggs when we raided a building that held an illegal fighting ring. They hatched a few days ago; well expect those two." Dual pointed to a Houndour and Poochyena huddling together keeping away from the group. "We believe those two hatched before we came and were getting trained to fight in the ring. They seem to have a bond together. The princess has ordered that they are adopted together as we tried to split them and they attacked the guards to be together."

"So they stayed together through all the rough of being put tah fight for the enjoyment of ponies." Said Applejack

"Yes, it would seem that way." Said Dual

"Ya don't mind if I jump in and play with them." Said Applejack

"No, go right ahead. If ya need me just call." Said Dual

Applejack thanked him and jumped into the pin. She told Arcanine to stay outside of the pin. He nodded his head as Applejack walked around the group of Pokemon. She played with both the Houndours and Poochyenas. She then set her sights on the two cowering in the corner of the play pin. She tapped her chin and decided to walk over to them.

She walked on over to the Poochyena and Houndour. But once she got close enough, the two Pokemon cowered away from Applejack. I guess Dual Strike is right, those two do fear ponies. But who can blame them, they were being trained to fight for the enjoyment of sick ponies. She looked at the two Pokemon as they shook in fear looking up at her. Applejack could see she was scaring them and decided to back up to give them space.

How do I get close to them, without scaring them? Applejack tapped her chin and finally remembered what Fluttershy taught her about handling scared animals. Ok, Applejack first ya need to make yourself look smaller. Applejack started to get down on her belly trying to get on Poochyena's and Houndour's level. She then slowly walked over to them. If the Pokemon cowered, she stopped and backed up. Take it slow, show them ya mean no harm. Applejack was finally able to get close to both of the Pokemon.

She gave them a sweet smile as they looked at her. Now let's see if I can pet one of them. Again, I need tah take it slow. Applejack lifted out her hoof and decided to try to pet the Poochyena. But she found it surprising that the Houndour jumped in front of Applejack and started to growl at her. Applejack backed her hoof away.

"It's ok; I'm not goin' tah hurt ya or your ya friend." Said Applejack

THe Houndour continued to growl as the Poochyena stayed behind the Fire and Dark Type Pokemon. Applejack just held her ground and waited for the Houndour to calm down. Once it stopped growling, Applejack decided to try again but going for the Houndour. It growled as Applejack moved her hoof. Applejack gently moved her hoof forward and stopped when the Houndour growled at her. She finally got her hoof to rest on the Houndours head. It flinched expecting something harmful, but instead, Applejack just gently stroked its head.

"See, I mean ya no harm." Said Applejack

The Poochyena poked its head around the Houndour. It saw that Applejack wasn't hurting its friend. Applejack turned her attention to the Poochyena and stopped stroking the Houndour and moved to the Poochyena and began to rub its head. The Poochyena flinched but stood firm as Applejack started to rub its head. The Poochyena began to push its head into Applejack's hoof as she stroked its head.

"Ya must like it." Said Applejack

"Well, I am impressed." Applejack turned to see Dual Strike and Arcanine looking at her. "You're the first pony to get close to those two."

"Thanks, I just had to follow one of my friends teachin's." Said Applejack

"Well, she thought you well. So I guess you'll be adopting them." Said Dual

Applejack looked down at the Poochyena and Houndour. They looked at her, and she smiled. She pushed herself up into a sitting position and looked back at Dual.

"I will be, Dual Strike." Said Applejack

"Excellent, I'll get the paperwork ready. Just visit me at the booth when you get out of the pin." Said Dual

Applejack nodded as she got all the way back up and headed for the exit. She motioned the two Pokemon to follow her. They did and exited the pin and soon ran right into Arcanine and hid behind Applejack seeking safety from her. She giggled as she looked up at her first Pokemon partner.

"No need tah fear, Arcanine is a good doggy, right boy." Said Applejack

"Arc, Arcanine."

Arcanine began to lick Applejack's face as she laughed.

"Stop it, boy." Laughed Applejack

Poochyena and Houndour moved away from Applejack as she laughed from Arcanine covering her face in his slobber. He stopped as Applejack nuzzled her face into Arcanine's head. They saw that Arcanine wasn't a threat. Arcanine looked at the two Pokemon and smiled.

"Arcanine."

"Poochyena."

"Houndour."

"Looks like everypony knows each other. Now let's get the adoption process finished show ya two tah your new home." Said Applejack

"Poochyena."

"Houndour."

Applejack smiled as she walked towards where Dual Strike told her where to go.

Rarity

Rarity sighed as she looked at all the Pokemon that sat around in the fair. She had been walking around for an hour with Pachirisu on her back. She was trying to search out a new Pokemon to add to her team. Sure she loved Pachirisu, but she also wanted to compete against her friends. So she needed to find another Pokemon.

"Where to look Parchirisu?" Asked Rarity

"Pach, Pachirisu."

Rarity looked up to see she was entering the Normal Type Pokemon section. Hmm, I wonder what Pokemon reside in this area. She walked the area looking around at the Pokemon. She saw many Solar Guards helping ponies out and patrolling the area. She happened to see a bulletin board. Hmm, I wonder what's on that. Rarity walked up to it, to see it had pictures of Pokemon on it. She saw the top read, 'Normal Type Pokemon up for adoption.'

"Hmm, this might be perfect for me." Said Rarity

Rarity's eyes began to scan the pictures as she looked at the Pokemon. She soon landed on the image of a Skitty.

"Oh that Pokemon sure is cute, don't you think, Pachirisu." Said Rarity

"Pach."

"Let's see if they still have a Skitty up for adoption." Said Rarity

Pachirisu nodded as Rarity looked back at the picture to see under it read, 'booth 34.' Rarity looked at the booth numbers and saw she was at booth 23 and saw them getting more prominent as she looked forward. She moved from the bulletin board to find booth 34.

After a few minutes of walking, she found the booth and looked to see a mare Pegasus Solar Guard stroking the head of a Skitty as others played with toys or slept with their tales wrapped around them. She cooed as she got closer to the pin that held them.

"So cute!" Exclaimed Rarity

"I know." Rarity turned to the Pegasus Solar Guard as she stepped up to Rarity with a Skitty on her back. "I'm Gently Breeze. I'm the head guard of this section here."

"Rarity."

Rarity and the Breeze tapped hooves, and it let Rarity get a good look at the guard. She had a pale blue coat an snow white mane. She had sea blue eyes, and her middle feathers of her wings were a dark blue color. On her flank was an image of the wind.

"Oh, and this is my partner Skitty." Said Breeze

"Skitty."

"Oh, and here's mine, Pachirisu."

"Pach, Pach, Pachirisu."

"She seems quite energetic." Said Breeze

"Yes, she sure can be." Said Rarity

"Yes, so I suppose you're here to check out the Skitties up for adoption." Said Breeze

"Yes." Said Rarity

"Well, let me tell you a little about Skitty. Skitty is a Normal Type Pokemon and the Kitten Pokemon. All these Skitties happen to be female. And Skitty evolves in Delcatty once they come into contact with a Moon Stone. So I assume you're going to adopt one?" Said Breeze

"Well, I am looking for a new Pokemon to add to my team, and these Skitties sure are cute." Rarity looked at the Skitties, and it reminded her of Opal her pet cat, which didn't like Pachirisu so much. But a Skitty did remind her of a cat and Opal did need a friend that wasn't an Elesquirrel Pokemon.

"I think I'll adopt one." Said Rarity

"Great, pick out which one you would like to take home with you." Said Breeze

Rarity looked at the small group of Kitten Pokemon. Jake always say that the Pokemon should choose the trainer, not the other way around. Rarity saw a small ball of yarn bounce in front of her and a Skitty running up to grab it. The two made eye contact. The Skitty smiled as it pushed the yarn forward, and Rarity got the message.

Rarity used her magic to pick up the ball of yarn and gently tossed it causing the Skitty to ran after it like a dog running after a stick. The Skitty brought the ball of yarn right back to Rarity.

"Skit, Skitty."

"Seems like that one has taken a liking to you." Said Breeze

"Skitty."

"It would seem so." Rarity used her magic to pick up the Skitty and set it next to her and got down it its level. "Would you Skitty, like to join Pachirisu and me."

"Skit, Skitty."

"I will take that as a yes." Rarity turned around to Pachirisu. "What do you think, Pachirisu?"

"Pach, Pach, Pachirisu."

"I think Pachirisu agrees." Rarity got back up and turned to Breeze. "I'll adopt this Skitty."

"Alright, just follow me and will finish the adoption process." Said Breeze

Rarity smiled as she walked behind Breeze with her new Pokemon by her side.

Rainbow Dash

Rainbow flew across the air scanning the adoption fair. Being a Pegasus gave her the advantage to see the whole fair a lot faster than a unicorn or earth pony. Her Staravia following behind her. Rainbow scanned the fair and spotted Applejack walking with two new Pokemon and Rarity filling out paperwork with a Pegasus mare Solar Guard. She also saw Fluttershy near the medical area with her Pokemon, Pinkie bouncing around, and finally Twilight and Jake walking together as per usual.

Rainbow was scanning the whole fair trying to find the one area she was looking for, the Flying Type Pokemon section. She spied it and waved Staravia to follow her down to the ground. Rainbow landed and let Staravia land on her back. Sure her partner wasn't a little Starly any longer, but that didn't stop her from carrying Staravia.

"I hope we can find a cool Pokemon like you, Staravia." Said Rainbow

"Staravia."

Rainbow scanned the Pegasus Solar Guards talking with other ponies asking questions about the Flying Type Pokemon. Rainbow saw many different Pokemon around. She finally saw a cool looking Pokemon up on a perch. A Pegasus stallion Solar Guard was holding out a hoof-full of Pokemon food for it to eat. Rainbow knew it was the Pokemon she needed for her team. She walked on over, and the clip-clop of her hooves on the dirt caused the guard to turn his head to Rainbow.

"Well, hello there ma'am." Said the guard

"Hi, the names Rainbow Dash and on my back is Staravia." Said Rainbow

"Rainbow Dash, yes I thought I recognized you. I'm Heavy Storm, leading guard for all Flying Type Pokemon as well as Sargent for the 105th Pegasus division."

Heavy Storm had a dark grey coat and electric blue mane. His cutie mark was of two dark clouds. His eye color was a dark blue color.

"So what can I do for you, Mrs. Dash?" Asked Storm

"Please Rainbow is ok, but I was going to ask you about the Pokemon behind you." Said Rainbow

Storm turned around and made eye contact with the Pokemon "Yes, the Pokemon here." Storm pointed to the Pokemon, "Is called Pidgeotto, the evolved form of Pidgey. It's the Bird Pokemon and is a Normal and Flying Type Pokemon. It also evolves into Pidgeot, which is its final evolution."

"So is it up for adoption, I'm looking to add a new Pokemon to my team, right Staravia." Said Rainbow

"Star."

"Yes, he's up for adoption, but everypony that has come to try to adopt him, he scares off." Said Storm

"Well, one of my friends told me that the Pokemon chooses the trainer, not the other way around. So maybe Pidgeotto is seeking a trainer he knows worthy to train him." Said Rainbow

"Hmm, I could see that. Most the ponies today were just looking for a Pokemon to be a pet and not a Pokemon for fighting in battles." Said Storm

"Mind if I try?" Asked Rainbow

"No, go right ahead." Said Storm

Rainbow nodded to Staravia to tell him to leave her be. Rainbow began to make her way towards Pidgeotto. The Normal and Flying Type Pokemon watched Rainbow as she moved closer to him. He then moved his eyes up to Staravia, and the two made eye contact. Then Pidgeotto turned back to Rainbow as she began to flap her wings to get off the ground and get at Pidgeotto's level.

"Hi, the names Rainbow Dash and bet you already saw my first partner, Staravia." Said Rainbow

"Star, Staravia."

"So I hear you've been pushing ponies away and I think I know why. Of course, you probably heard me say that you want a good trainer. So I'm here to say I'm one such trainer. I'm not as skilled as one of my friends, but I'm still awesome at Pokemon battles. If you come with me, Pidgeotto, I will train you to the full extent I can. You won't be a pet; you'll be my companion and an honored teammate." Said Rainbow

Pidgeotto looked at Rainbow and then back at Staravia. He scanned Starling Pokemon. The two Normal and Flying Pokemon locked eyes. But Pidgeotto broke his gaze when he heard Rainbow speak once again.

"So what do you say, what to join Staravia and me?" Asked Rainbow

Rainbow lifted out a hoof and Pidgeotto looked at it. Rainbow could see that it seemed Pidgeotto was mulling over the question. It then reached out one of its wings and tapped Rainbow's hoof.

"Pidg."

"I think Pidgeotto is accepting your proposal." Said Storm

"Star."

"Is that right, boy." Said Rainbow

Pidgeotto nodded to Rainbow symbolizing it was. Rainbow smiled, "Welcome to the team, Pidgeotto."

"Pidgeotto."

"Well, if you would follow me, Rainbow Dash, we'll complete the paperwork, and you can take Pidgeotto to your home." Said Storm

Rainbow nodded and followed Storm while both Staravia and Pidgeotto followed her. The two Pokemon looked at each other before turning their heads back to the front. But Rainbow caught a glimpse of the spark in their eyes. I think Pidgeotto will fit right in with me.

Fluttershy

Instead of walking around the fair and trying to find a new companion to add to her team like her friends, Fluttershy went to one area. She decided that her medical skills could help out the medical staff that Celestia brought with her. She felt it was just right to help all those Pokemon hurt and Fluttershy also knew how to heal Pokemon thanks to being her friend's medical pony.

She still had her Audino with her to help out as well as Lillipup who ran around bringing her and Audino supplies. The medical guards at first weren't sure if they should let Fluttershy help out, but decided to give her a chance. Fluttershy proved her skills as a medic to the guards.

Fluttershy sighed as she wiped the sweat from her brow. Gosh, I never thought I would ever feel so tired with helping Pokemon. She looked at her quite exhausted Audino. The two had been working since the minute the guards accepted them. Lillipup though was still full of energy, but Fluttershy expected that when Lillipup was the Puppy Pokemon.

"I have to say, Mrs. Fluttershy, you sure know how to help Pokemon."

Fluttershy looked over at the head doctor walking up to her. The doctor was a unicorn mare. Her name was Life Savoir. She had a white coat and a cherry red mane with a light red stripe running down the middle of it. Grey freckles were all over her face. Her eyes were an emerald green color. Her cutie mark was medical gauzes. She was also the Solar Guards head field doctor.

"Oh, thank you. I have plenty of practice healing my friends Pokemon. Plus it is easier with Audino." Said Fluttershy

"Audino."

"Well, I have to thank you for coming around. I never expected so many Pokemon to come over today." Said Life

"I'm just happy we could help them all out." Said Fluttershy

"Yes, I'm happy I don't have to put down any more Pokemon." Said Life

"So the rumors were true about Pokemon being put down." Said Fluttershy

"Sadly yes, many of the Pokemon couldn't be saved. I had to put down many of them because we knew they could never be companions. I have to say that was the hardest part of my life. But I was happy to end their pain and misery. I know they're all happy in the Golden Pastors." Said Life

"I think I wouldn't have the guts to put down a Pokemon especially my partners." Said Fluttershy

"Yeah, but sometimes you have to do things you don't want to." Said Life

Fluttershy just nodded and watched as Lillipup brought over a ball for her. She smiled as she picked it up and tossed it for him. He ran off to catch it. Lillipup returned it, and she threw it again.

"That Pokemon sure is full of energy." Said Life

"Yes, but Lillipup is the Puppy Pokemon, so I'm not surprised." Said Fluttershy

Lillipup brought the ball back but this time brought it over to Life Savior. She looked at the Puppy Pokemon as it looked up at her.

"Lillipup."

"You want me to toss the ball." Said Life

"Lillipup."

Life Savior used her magic to pick up the ball and toss it. Lillipup barked and as he ran after it. Life Savoir watched as he brought it right back to her. She used her magic again to toss the ball, and Lillipup once again chased after it. Fluttershy giggled as she watched Lillipup play with Life Savoir.

After a few more tosses Lillipup gave a big old yawn and started to look tuckered out. Fluttershy looked back to see Audino was quite tired as well. I think it's time for us to head home. Fluttershy got up from the ground and used her wing to brush off the dirt from her legs and backside. Audino walked up to the sleeping Lillipup and picked him up. She placed him on Fluttershy's back. Audino then grabbed the ball and put it in the bag that Fluttershy brought with her.

"Well, I think we're going to head home for the day. Thank you again, Life Savoir for letting me help out." Said Fluttershy

"No problem, but could you hold one for a second. I think I might have something for you." Said Life

Fluttershy nodded as she watched Life Savoir runoff. The group only had to wait a minute or two as Life Savoir came back with a Poke Ball in her magic. Fluttershy reached out one of her front hooves and let the Poke Ball rest in her hoof.

"Here you go, for helping us out." Said Life

"Oh thank you, Life, but what Pokemon is inside?" Asked Fluttershy

"A Chansey, its the Egg Pokemon and a Normal Type as well. Oh, and it's a she."Said Life

"Well thank you Life, I'll take good care her." Said Fluttershy

"I know you will." Said Life

Futtershy gave the Poke Ball to Audino to put in the bag, and the group walked off with Audino and Fluttershy waving goodbye to Life Savoir as she waved back.

Pinki Pie

Pinkie Pie bounced around the adoption fair as she smiled and waved at everypony she knew. Her partner, Spinarak, resting in her mane. Most ponies couldn't understand how Pinkie could stand having a spider in her mane, and how she found Spinarak cute. But ponies knew not to try to understand Pinkie Pie as there was no figuring out the party mare.

She was out just like her friends seeing if she wanted to adopt another Pokemon. She hadn't run into any of her friends, but she did see Rainbow flying over the fair. Oh, I can't wait to see what Pokemon everypony got. She squealed as she thought of all the new friends her Spinarak would have.

Pinkie hopped around looking at the Pokemon trying to find a friend for Spinarak that would be around longer than her friends Pokemon. She decided to search out a Bug Type Pokemon since that was what Spinarak's first type was. She hopped around the Bug Type Pokemon section spying all the Bug Type Pokemon. She would stop and look at them before continuing with her sightseeing.

Hmm, I've seen plenty of Pokemon, but which is best for my Spinarak. Pinkie hummed to herself until she felt a disturbance in the air. She stopped dead in her tracks. I sense somepony isn't happy, and I can't have that. Pinkie trotted towards where she felt the sadness. She soon came to a Pokemon pin and inside was a single Pokemon curled up on the ground looking completely sad. Pinkie could tell it was lonely.

"What's wrong little fellow?" Asked Pinkie

The Pokemon looked up at her as Pinkie cocked her head to the side. The Pokemon then laid its head back on the ground still looking depressed.

"He's been like that all day."

Pinkie turned her head to see a stallion earth pony Solar Guard walking up to her. He had a gold coat with a black mane. His eyes were a bright yellow color. On his flank was a picture of a melting pot.

"Who are you?" Asked Pinkie

"Right, I'm Lieutenant Smelt of the fifth regiment. Now, who are you?"

"I'm Pinkie Pie, the party mare of Ponyville."

"I see." Said Smelt

"Oh, you said that Pokemon had been that way all day." Said Pinkie

"Sadly yes, we had other Bug Type Pokemon with it, but those all got adopted by ponies. He tried to get somepony to adopt him, but they just passed him. You see it's called a Venipede, the Centipede Pokemon. It's a Bug and Poison Pokemon." Said Smelt

"How sad, not getting adopted. I can't stand seeing any pony or Pokemon, in this case, frown. Luckily, I know how to cheer him up." Pinkie pulled up the end of her mane and out popped a bag of Pokemon food. Smelt raised his eyebrow at what just happened. Pinkie hopped inside the pin and opened the bag and put the food on the ground. "Food always helps turn those frowns upside food, especially when it's Pinkie Pie's special custom-made Pokemon sweets."

The venipede walked forward to the food Pinkie put to the ground. It sniffed a piece before taking it into food its mouth. Suddenly it smiled as it began to eat the rest of the food.

"Ven, Venipede."

"Another happy customer." Said Pinkie

"Spinarak."

"I'm impressed; I thought I would never see that Venipede smile." Said Smelt

"Well, smiling is always a guarantee when you have something made by yours truly." Said Pinkie

"Venipede."

Pinkie turned back to see the Venipede looking up at her with a happy face. She stroked his head as it seemed to enjoy the treatment Pinkie was giving it. Smelt smiled as he saw Pinkie interact with the Venipede.

"You know, I've been looking for a Pokemon to be Spinarak's friend. How about it Venipede, will you be Spinarak's friend as well as another member of my team." Said Pinkie

"Ven, Venipede."

"I think I'll take that as a yes." Pinkie turned back to Smelt, "So can I adopt him?"

"I see no reason why not. Just trot yourself over to my booth, and we'll finish the paperwork for you to adopt Venipede." Said Smelt

"Great!" Exclaimed Pinkie

"Spinarak."

"Venipede."

Venipede crawled itself up Pinkie and rested on her back as she smiled at him. She hopped over the fence and began to trot over to Smelt when her mind thought of something. I wonder how the Cakes will react. Pinkie shrugged as the Cakes didn't mind Spinarak, so they shouldn't care about Venipede being in the shop. Pinkie smiled as she trotted over to the booth where Smelt was.

Jake and Twilight

"I am impressed." Said Jake

Jake and Twilight decided to attend the fair together. That was a common sight for all ponies in Ponyville. Many ponies knew that if you saw Jake, Twilight was somewhere around and it was vice-versa. The one time people didn't see Twilight and Jake together was when Jake went off to teach.

Jake held Popplio in his hands as he walked with Gardevoir following behind him. Twilight had both her dragons with her, but the two had to stop when Deino decided to bite something, or more often, ponies. Plenty of guards got themselves with a bite mark from Deino. Luckily Fraxure was able to pry Deino off the guards and push him forward.

"Yeah, the princess sure has out down herself. I wonder if the girls found any new Pokemon." Said Twilight

"I wouldn't doubt it." Said Jake

The two walked around the adoption fair stopping at times to look at the Pokemon. Sure the library was getting quite cramped, but that didn't stop the two from thinking about adopting a new Pokemon. The two first started out in the Dragon Type Pokemon section for Twilight. But Twilight didn't seem to find a Pokemon. So the two continued to walk around, with Jake stopping now and then to look at Pokemon.

"It sure is hard not want to adopt all of them." Said Jake

"Yeah, to think all these Pokemon were once going to be used to fight for the enjoyment of sick ponies. I hope Celestia punishes them severely." Said Twilight

"I'm sure she will." Said Jake

Soon the two stopped as they watched bolts of lightning leap into the sky in the Electric-Type Pokemon section. Jake and Twilight looked at each other as they both decided to see what was happening. They ran into the Electric-Type Pokemon area to see what was happening, and they saw a significant amount of Solar Guards moving away as a Raichu tried to attack them. It growled as its paws glowed white.

"Back off, give him space."

Twilight looked to the head guard and recognized it as Captain Speed, a long time friend of her father. She ran up to the captain with Jake and the Pokemon following right behind her.

"Captain Speed." Speed turned to see Twilight running up to him. He smiled as she walked up to her and hugged her.

"Twilight Sparkle, it's nice to see you." Said Speed

"Same here Speed, I can't remember the last time I saw you." Said Twilight

"I remember, you were still just a small filly with your head in a book. But your father always kept me the loop about you." Said Speed

"That's my dad for you, always loves telling stories about me, even more than my mother." Said Twilight

Speed chuckled with Twilight's giggle. Jake just watched and looked back at Gardevoir who shrugged her shoulders.

"Um, Twilight, who are you talking to?" Asked Jake

Twilight turned back to Jake, "Let me introduce you to Captain Speed, a friend of my father. The two went to boot camp together. He's one of the captains of the special forces, which is the same area my father serves as well."

"Yes, and you must be the one and only Jake." Said Speed

"Yes, but how did you know my name?" Asked Jake

"Easy, Princess Celestia talks highly of you." Said Speed

Soon a set of bolts of lightning came towards the group, but Gardevoir quickly brought up a shield blocking the lightning bolts.

"Thanks, Gardevoir." Said Jake

"No need to thank me, master. It's my job to protect you and those you call friends." Said Gardevoir

A Solar Guard came running up to Speed, "Sir, we can't seem to calm down the Raichu."

"Just continue to back off and giving him space. Under no circumstance do any guards approach him." Said Speed

"Understood sir." Said the guard

The guard ran off as Speed sighed.

"What's going on, Speed?" Asked Twilight

"We're trying to calm down a violent Raichu." Said Speed

"Violent?" Asked Gardevoir

"Yes, we discovered the Raichu in a fighting ring in the outskirts of Canterlot. Our guards were releasing him from his cage when he attacked them. That Raichu put three earth ponies in the hospital. We were able to restrain it. We were supposed to put him down, but Celestia ordered that the Raichu not to be put down. We brought him from fair to fair, and all he has done is try to strike out against ponies that approach him." Said Speed

"I don't understand why Celestia would order you not to put the Raichu down. I thought all violent Pokemon were being put down." Said Twilight

"I don't know, but no guard questions Celestia's orders." Said Speed

"Can I see the Raichu?" Asked Jake

"What?!" Exclaimed Twilight

"Master didn't you hear Captain Speed." Said Gardevoir

"Yes, but I still want to see the Raichu with my eyes." Said Jake

"Well, follow me, but do stay behind the guard line." Said Speed

The group walked up to the guard circle, and Jake looked to see male Raichu because of the point on his tail. He growled as he watched the Solar Guards around him. Scars covered its body. No part of the Raichu's body was clear of injuries. Even a long horizontal scar ran across the face of the male Raichu, and also went over the eyes, but Jake could see the Raichu wasn't blind.

"Dear Faust." Said Twilight

"Yes, we believe that Pokemon fought in many battles. We aren't sure how his sight survived with that scar on its face." Said Speed

Jake just looked at the Pokemon and saw something in his eyes. Jake looked past the rage in the Raichu's eyes and found those eyes filled with pain. The pain of being put to fight to the death. Jake also saw fear in the Raichu's eyes. Jake chewed the inside of his cheek as he watched the Raichu discharge another set of lightning bolts at the guards. Unicorn guards put up shields stopping the attacks.

Jake looked down at his Popplio, "Gardevoir take Popplio and under no circumstance do you interfere."

Gardevoir took Popplio, "I don't understand, master."

"You will, Speed." Captain Speed looked up at Jake. "I need you to part your guards."

"Huh." Said Speed

"I'm going to try to calm down that Raichu." Said Jake

"WHAT!!! Are you crazy Jake!?" Exclaimed Twilight

"Master, what are you thinking?" Demanded Gardevoir

"Popplio."

"You realize that the male Raichu could hurt you." Said Speed

"Yes, but I think he's lashing out not because he's violent but out of fear. Just give me a shot." Said Jake

"Master, I can't let you go through this." Said Gardevoir

"You will because I order it as your trainer not to interfere with me." Gardevoir wanted to say something, but Jake beat her to the punch. "But, if it comes down I need help, then you can come in and help. But only when it comes to that point."

"Ok, master, but the second something goes wrong I'm getting you out of there." Said Gardevoir

Jake nodded his head and looked at Twilight. She had a worried expression on her face. He got down to her level and scratched behind her ears, finding that it relaxes her.

"I'm going to be ok, Twilight." Said Jake

Jake got up and looked at Speed. The two nodded before Speed gave his order.

"Open the way for Jake." Speed looked at Jake. "I wish you luck."

"Thanks." Said Jake

Jake walked into through the guards as they murmured that he was crazy. The guards once again blocked the way and unicorns placed the shield back up. Jake looked back at the shield. No turning back. Jake turned his head to see the Raichu borrowing his eyes into Jake. Ok, got to watch my moves. I don't want to end up in a hospital; I won't hear the end of it from both Twilight and Gardevoir. Jake took a gentle step forward but stopped when the Raichu growled.

"It's ok boy; I'm not here to hurt you." Said Jake

The Raichu only growled at Jake as he placed his foot down on the ground. Guards watched as Jake slowly made his way to the Raichu.

"I'm not going to hurt you; I'm here to help you." Said Jake

The Raichu released a set of lightning bolts at Jake. Jake rolled out of the way as the bolts struck the shield. To close,
need to take it a little slower.

"Master are you ok?" Asked Gardevoit

"I'm fine, Gardevoir." Said Jake

Jake got back to his feet and moved slowly again to the Raichu. The Raichu watched Jake's movements and nothing else. Jake made sure he kept his eyes on the Raichu as well, not wanting to get hit with one of his attacks. Jake felt his heart trying to tear itself out of his chest. Sweat was rolling down his face from his nerves. Adrenaline was beginning to pump through his blood as his body got ready for an incoming attack from the male Raichu. Jake licked his lips as he grew closer to the Raichu.

"Damn." Said a guard

The Raichu growled as his paws went white and suddenly ran at Jake. Crap! Jake moved out of the way as the Raichu tried to land an attack on Jake. Jake watched each paw as it went for his body. But he wasn't fast enough, and one of the paws struck his chest sending him across the ground. Twilight and Gardevoir gasped as Jake held his chest. Damn, that one hurt. Jake began to cough and covered his mouth, and when he moved his hand away, he saw a small amount blood covering it. Jake felt around his chest and winced in pain. Damn, I think the Raichu broke one of my ribs.

"Master, I'm pulling you out." Said Gardevoir

"No, I order you to stay where you are. I'm fine, and I think I'm getting closer." Said Jake

Jake coughed as a few drops of blood fell from his mouth onto the ground. He spat out the blood in his mouth as he got back to his feet. He wiped his chin as he went back to trying to approach the Raichu.

"Gardevoir, can't you get Jake out of there." Said Twilight

"I would, but he ordered me to stay here. But the second that Raichu lands another attack, I'm going in and getting him out, even if he doesn't want me to." Said Gardevoir

Twilight nodded as she looked back at Jake once again approaching the male Raichu, but slightly slower. Jake, please be careful.

Jake made another step forward and winced as he felt his broken rib move in his body. But even though he was in pain, he pushed forward. I can't give up, and I won't give up. Jake got as close as he could to Raichu. He started to get down on his right knee as he reached out his left hand to the still growling Raichu.

Jake was trying to touch the male Raichu's. The Raichu opened his mouth and bit down on Jake's hand. Jake winced as the Raichu's natural teeth bit down into his flesh and muscle. Gardevoir was ready to move inside but surprised when Jake started to pet the of the Raichu with his free hand.

"It's going to be ok; it's going to be ok." Said Jake

No pony or Pokemon could believe their eyes as Jake sat there with his left hand inside the mouth of the Raichu, while the other was rubbing the male Raichu's head. Soon the Raichu released Jake's hand and looked up at his smiling face. Jake's left hand began to drip blood onto the ground, but it didn't bother him at all. All his attention was on the Raichu.

"See, I mean you no harm." Said Jake

Raichu didn't say anything as it looked at Jake. Ponies stood breathless as they waited for something to happen. Twilight bite her lip nearly drawing blood and praying that nothing wrong would happen. Gardevoir was ready the second she needed to teleport to save her master. She wouldn't let anything terrible happen to her master. But no pony saw what happened next. The once violent Raichu closed his eyes and let Jake pet him.

A sigh of relief went throughout the crowd as nothing terrible happened. Many guards murmured about what they saw. Speed just smiled as he looked at Jake. The princess sure is right about Jake being special. Not one guard has been able to approach that Raichu, but Jake was able to calm him down. Gardevoir and Twilight both released the heaviest of sighs that Jake was ok. The two looked at each other and smiled.

Jake moved his hand away from the head of the Raichu, and it opened its eyes and again looked at Jake's smiling face. It beamed back at Jake. Jake got to his feet slowly as not to continue to put pressure on his broken rib. He got to his feet and slowly made his way to the guards, but turned when he saw the Raichu looking at him. He ushered the Raichu forward, but it didn't move.

"It's alright, stay by me and they won't hurt you, I promise." Siad Jake

The Raichu began to walk forward and stayed right next to Jake as the guards moved. The Raichu started to growl but stopped when he felt Jake rest his right hand on top of his head. The two made it back to Speed who had a medic standing by ready to attend to Jake. Speed nodded to the physician, and he walked up to Jake and began to use his horn to scan Jake's body.

"You sir, have precisely two lower ribs broken and minor lacerations. If you don't mind standing still, I'll get you patched up." Said the medic

The unicorn medic began to place a brace on Jake and patched up his hand, stitching up the wounds and used his magic to make sure the injury was clean. Jake flexed his hand as the doctor gave him a small bottle of pills and gave him a clean bill of health.

Soon the guards dispersed as there was no longer a need for them.

"I am astonished." Jake looked to see Speed, Twilight, Gardevoir, and Twilight Pokemon walked up to him. "I would never have thought anypony could calm down that Raichu."

"But how?" Asked Twilight

"I could that the Raichu wasn't wholly violent, I saw pain and fear in his eyes. The pain of not knowing what it means to be loved. He was only brutal because he felt scared around ponies, and being violent was his only defense. Right, Raichu." Said Jake

The Raichu looked up at Jake and smiled, "Rai, Rai."

"He agrees, master." Said Gardevoir

"So now what?" Asked Twilight

Jake got down on his left knee and started to pet the male Raichu, "So Raichu would you like to join my team. I promise I'm nothing like the ponies who put you in a pit and drugged you to fight. So what do say, Raichu?"

Raichi looked up at Jake and by surprise started to feel tears run down his cheeks. He ran up and hugged Jake rubbing his head into his shirt. Jake rubbed the head of the Raichu calming him down.

"I guess that would be a yes." Said Jake

"Nice to finally see that Raichu go to a happy home. Your friend there is something else, huh, Twilight." Said Speed

Twilight looked at Jake with a smiling spreading across her face, "Yeah, he sure is."

The adoption fair finally came to an end as Celestia's sun started to dip into the horizon. Guards began to gather all the Pokemon and break down everything they brought. They loaded them up on carts, and the pegasi flew them off as they had another fair to set up. Ponies walked home with their Pokemon showing them to their new homes. Some were talking about challenging Jake or the mane six to a Pokemon battle. But all in all, it was yet another successful day for Celestia's Pokemon adoption fair.

Author's Note

So here's the next chapter of Poke Eques. Have to say I'm happy I finally got this one done. So for a few quick notes for future chapters. Applejack and Fluttershy teams are now complete. So Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow, and Pinkie will have one more Pokemon join their Pokemon teams. Now that's all I have to say; I guess it's time I move into the next chapter.
