Beach Fun

Jake threw his shirt over his head as he looked at himself in the mirror. He rubbed his clean shaved face and ran his hand through his nicely cut hair. He nodded as he stepped out of the bathroom in the main hall and went down to the main room of the library were Twilight was finishing packing up a picnic basket. Twilight turned when she heard Jake coming down the stairs.

"I guess everything fits." Said Twilight

Jake looked down at his new black swim trunks that Rarity made for him. "Yeah, Rarity sure knows her craft."

"Well, that is her talent. Now let's get going and see the girls at the beach. I can't wait to see what Pokemon the girls adopted." Said Twilight

Jake nodded as he picked up Popplio and walked out with Twilight, levitating the picnic basket, and Spike. Once all the Pokemon were out of the library, Twilight locked the door, and the vast group headed off to the beach.

A week had passed since the adoption fair was here in Ponyville. Jake had healed up nicely with from his wounds but had a few scars covering his left hand. Raichu also felt comfortable around the library, but still hesitant with Twilight and other ponies. But Raichu was starting to settle down. And since that day Twilight and her friends hadn't seen each other. The reason was that everypony was busy with jobs or other things. But today they decided to all meet as it was Saturday and Jake didn't have to work. But also they all wanted to meet as Summer was official ending next week and Fall would be soon settling across Equestria. The effects of Fall coming into the season could already be felt across Ponyville as it was getting cooler. So Twilight decided she and her friends should do one last Summer activity, and the beach was the best option.

After a few minutes, Jake, Twilight, and the Pokemon made it to a large lake. The beach Twilight spoke about was connected to the large open lake. Jake saw the girls in the distant and pointed them out to Twilight. She nodded as the group walked off to them. Jake and Twilight's friends turned and waved at Jake and Twilight as they walked up to them. Twilight set down the basket and came together for a group hug.

"I'm glad to see you, girls, again." Said Twilight

"Same here Twi." Said Applejack

"Oh, and nice to see you again Jake. And how do you enjoy those swim trunks I made for you?" Said Rarity

"They fit perfectly, and nice to see you all again." Said Jake

"Popplio."

"Now that we're all here, how about we show off our new Pokemon. Since Jake already has all his Pokemon out, how about you go first." Said Pinkie

"Raichu, come on up buddy." Raichu stepped up to Jake. It looked at the ponies in front of him. "I present you Raichu, the newest member of my team. But before you girls get close, he's still hesitant about ponies. He's still getting used to Twilight."

"Wait, the same Raichu that bit your hand and broke your ribs." Said Rarity

"How did you know about that?" Asked Jake

"Sometimes it's worth spending time with your little sister." Said Rarity

"Yes, but he was only doing it out of self-defense. Right, boy." Said Jake

"Rai, Rai."

"Well, I sadly didn't adopt any new Pokemon, so who wants to go next." Said Twilight

"Oh, I'll go." Pinkie grabbed two Poke Balls and tossed them into the air. "Come on out, Venipede and Ariados." The Poke Balls opened up and out came both Pokemon.

"Ariados."

"Venipede."

"Venipede is new, and my Spinarak evolved into Ariados a day ago when I was training Venipede." Said Pinkie

"It got bigger!" Squealed Rarity

"Yeah, Ariados sure did. You should have seen Mrs. Cake's face when she first saw Ariados hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen." Giggled Pinkie

"I'm surprised the Cakes let you have both those Pokemon with their foals." Said Twilight

"Pound and Pumpkin love Ariados and Venipede, plus my Pokemon wouldn't harm a hair on their heads." Said Pinkie

"Well, how about I call my boys over." Applejack placed her left front hoof into her mouth and whistled and soon her three Pokemon came running over to her. "Like to present, Poochyena, Houndour and my evolved Arcanine."

"Pocchyena."

"Houndour."

"Arcanine."

"So you used the Fire Stone on Growlithe." Said Jake

"Yes sir, and I let Growlithe choose, and you can see the outcome." Said Applejack

"Arc, Arcanine."

"Sticking with dogs, as usual, Applejack." Said Rainbow

"Dogs are great companions, Rainbow." Said Applejack

"Yeah, but let me show you my cool new Pokemon." Rainbow grabbed her two Poke Balls and tossed them up. "Come on out Staravia and Pidgeotto." Both Pokemon appeared flapping their wings next to Rainbow. "Pidgeotto is new to my team."

"Pidgeotto."

"Well, I guess that leaves Fluttershy and me. I guess I can show off my new cute Pokemon." Rarity tossed up her two Poke Balls. "Come on out Skitty and Pachirisu." Rarity's Poke Ball opened up revealing both Pokemon appeared.

"Pach, Pach, Pachirisu."

"Skitty."

"Isn't Skitty so cute, she's my newest member." Said Rarity

"Yeah, she sure is a cute Pokemon. Just make sure to keep all Moon Stones away from her." Said Jake

"I know darling, the guard I was talking with told me that Skitty evolved into Delcatty when she comes into contact with a Moon Stone. So I stored all Evolution Stones in a safe place." Said Rarity

"Um, I guess I'm last." Fluttershy tossed up three Poke Balls. "Audino, Lillipup, and Chansey, come on out." The Poke Balls popped opened freeing Fluttershy's Pokemon.

"Audino."

"Lillipup."

"Chansey."

"Chansey is the newest member of my team. She's also going to help me heal Pokemon with Audino." Said Fluttershy

"Audino."

"Chansey."

"Well, I guess since everypony is here, so let's have fun." Said Pinkie

Everypony and Pokemon cheered as they went to their activities. Popplio pointed Jake to the water, and he nodded. He put Popplio on the ground and removed his shirt and picked the Water Pokemon up again and walked off to the lake. Empoleon followed after him and leaped into the air and splashed down into the water. Jake put Popplio on the ground and let her walk into the water and him following right behind.

The girls got their spots set up. Twilight unloaded her basket and set up the umbrella she brought and set down her towel. She then pulled out her book and began to read it. Gardevoir sat next to her pulling out the book she brought with her. Raichu sat under the umbrella watching the other Pokemon play around but kept his distance from the ponies.

Rarity pulled out her sunglasses and a sunbathing mirror and began to sunbathe as Pachirisu and Skitty played with the other Pokemon. Meowstic took her towel and set it up and laid on her stomach letting the sun heat up her body. Fluttershy tossed a ball for Lillipup. Applejack was leaning against Arcanine as she threw a stick for Poochyena and Houndour. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie decided to set up a volleyball net and play a few rounds as their Pokemon watched. Spike grabbed some sandcastle toys, and Braixen joined him. Everypony and Pokemon were either lounging around or playing with each other.

Rarity looked over to Twilight as her eyes scanned the pages of the book in front of her.

"Darling, you know I've heard some interesting gossip about you." Said Rarity

"That would be." Said Twilight

"That you and Jake are dating." Said Rarity

Twilight stopped dead in her tracks as she looked over at Rarity, "What?!"

"Yes, there's a rumor going around Ponyville that you and Jake are a couple," said Rarity with a sly smile on her face.

"No we aren't, we're far from being a couple. We're just friends," said Twilight as she began to get flustered.

"Well, you could confuse plenty of ponies. I mean you are practically glued to Jake's side." Said Rarity

"I just like spending time with him. He's just fun to be around," said Twilight with a creeping blush spreading across her face.

"Oh please darling, don't lie to me, you like him more than a friend," said Rarity with a wiggle of her eyebrows.

"He's just a friend, Rarity and that's all," said Twilight with her blushing growing slightly darker.

"Darling, you know that's not true. You can't hide the truth from yourself, no matter how much you deny it." Said Rarity

Twilight looked back over to Jake as he played with his Popplio in the lake. She watched as Jake laughed as he played with Poppilo. Twilight could never stop smiling when she was around Jake or watched him. Twilight knew he had all the qualities to be a perfect stallion. She felt her blush continuing to creep over her face. She ducked back into her book to try to calm herself down. She spied her eyes over the book to see Jake coaching Popplio to make a bubble. She could easily see Jake as her perfect partner. Rarity's not wrong, I do feel something for him. Her eyes then went down to her hooves. She looked herself over. Her eyes rested longer on her wings as she ruffled them. But would he even love me. Would Jake be able to get past the fact that I'm a pony or that I'm a princess?. She looked back at Jake as he played with Popplio. She smiled as she got back to her book. Maybe we would work it out, just maybe.

After a while of playing with Popplio in the water, the two got out. Empoleon decided to stay in the water. Popplio shook off her body from the water as Jake pushed his wet hair out of his eyes. He ushered Popplio to follow him. Jake saw that Braixen, Buneary, Pachirisu, and Spike were building a sandcastle together. Cyndaquil was bathing in the sun with Mareep. Eevee was playing around with Skitty and Lillipup. Fluttershy watched them play with Audino and Chansey talking with each other. Zorua slept next to Twilight under the umbrella. Pinkie was building a sandcastle as well with her Pokemon. Rainbow was flipping through the air practicing her tricks but also starting to teach her two Flying Type Pokemon tricks.

Jake also saw that Twilight was now laying out in the sun with her wings outstretched with both her Fraxure and Deino sleeping next to her. Rarity was out cold while still sunbathing. Applejack was slightly sleeping on her snoozing Aracnine as Poochyena and Houndour curled up next to her. Raichu was now snoozing under the shade of the umbrella, and Gardevoir was still reading her book. Jake passed his sleeping Meowstic and touched her back and felt it was quite warm. He decided to move her to some shade, so she didn't get sunburned. He gently picked her up and her towel and carried her into the shade as he grabbed his towel and dried off his body before throwing his shirt over his head and taking the towel to dry off Popplio.

"Welcome back, master, enjoy the water." Said Gardevoir

"Yes, it was delightful. Anything interesting to report." Said Jake

"Just Mrs. Rarity talking about gossip as she usually does. I just hope she doesn't get sunburned since I'm unsure if she put on suntan lotion. I suppose that's the reason you brought over Meowstic." Said Gardevoir

"I prefer not to see any of my Pokemon getting a sunburn." Said Jake

Jake watched as Meowstic yawned and rubbed her eyes as she looked around.

"How did I get here?" She asked

"I moved you so you wouldn't get a sunburn." Said Jake

"Oh, well thanks." Said Meowstic

Jake got into the basket and pulled a book about how to teach better. Cheerilee recommended the book to Jake as it would further his knowledge of teaching in Equestria. Jake did keep his eyes on the Pokemon still active that weren't napping in the sun. He then heard the sound of wings and looked up from his book to see a grinning Rainbow Dash. He knew that meant she wanted something out of him.

"What do you want, Rainbow?" Asked Jake

"I was wondering if you willing to do a Pokemon battle with me." Said Rainbow

Jake rubbed his chin, "I guess it wouldn't hurt." He closed the book and set it down as he got up. "Plus I could use the training." Jake put the book down and pulled out his Aura Reader. He walked out onto the sand and put the Aura Reader on his ear.

"I was thinking a two on two." Said Rainbow

"I'm good with that." Said Jake

"Perfect, hey Fluttershy." Fluttershy looked over at Rainbow. "You don't mind healing our Pokemon after the battle."

"Not at all." Said Fluttershy

"Then we're all set. Let's get going." Said Rainbow

"Lets." Said Jake

The two activated their Aura Readers. The others began to watch as Jake and Rainbow started their fight.

"Let's fight." Said Rainbow and Jake

"Pidegeotto your up." Said Rainbow

Pidegeotto flew onto the battlefield. Jake scratched his chin as he looked over at his Pokemon. Hmm, who should I pick for this battle? I should challenge Rainbow by using a Pokemon that has one of her weaknesses.

"Mareep your up girl." Said Jake

Mareep hopped herself onto the battlefield. Rainbow cocked her head to the side in confusion.

"Why Mareep and not Raichu?" Asked Rainbow

"Raichu was a pit fighter Pokemon, so he doesn't understand Pokemon battles." Jake looked back at Raichu. "Watch the battle boy; you'll get an understanding of Pokemon battles."

"Rai, Ria."

"Any more questions or shall we fight." Said Jake

"Nope, now Pidgeotto start it off with Quick Attack." Said Rainbow

Pidgeotto flew into the air before coming down quickly. Jake waited for the right time to order Mareep and saw his opportunity.

"Dodge, Mareep." Said Jake

Mareep jumped out of the way. Rainbow smiled as she gave her next order.

"Now quickly turn around and use Wing Attack." Said Rainbow

Pidgeotto used the momentum of the Quick Attack to spin back and attack Mareep with a Wing Attack. Pidgeotto's glowing wing struck Mareep. Pidgeotto flew back to Rainbow who pumped her hoof in the air as Mareep got herself up from the ground.

"I see you've been practicing." Said Jake

"Of course, it's the only way to be the best." Said Rainbow

"Then let's continue this fight. Charge, Mareep."

Mareep began to charge electricity in her wool coat that covered her. Rainbow watched as Mareep's special defense went up. So he's going to try to bring down Pidgeotto in one blast. We'll see about that.

"Gust." Said Rainbow

Pidgeotto began to beat his wings against Mareep. The attack kicked up the sand and sent it flying at Mareep. Jake covered his eyes as Pidgeotto continued to use the move Gust.

"Rainbow, stop it with the wind, you're covering us all with sand!" Whined Rarity

"Kind of the point." Said Rainbow

"Huh." Said Jake

"Just look." Said Rainbow

Jake looked down to see Mareep trying to rub her eyes clean of the sand.

"A natural sand attack. Might have not reduced your accuracy, but does give me a free strick. Pidgeotto attack with Aerial Ace." Said Rainbow

Pidgeotto flew high into the sky before coming down and right before he struck the ground, he pulled up and sped right at Mareep. Jake only watched as Pidgeotto hit Mareep. Mareep rolled towards Jake as Pidgeotto flew back next to Rainbow. Jake watched as Mareep got back to her feet. Well, there goes my Charge move. Mareep was still trying to rub the sand from her eyes.

"Pidgeotto let's finish this with Wing Attack." Said Rainbow

Pidgeotto flew towards Mareep with both of his wings glowing white. Jake watched as Pidgeotto grew closer and closer. What do I do with Mareep unable to see? Jake scrolled through Mareep's moves and finally found a move. That should do it. Pidgeotto grew closer and closer to Mareep.

"What's Jake doing?" Asked Twilight

"I have no idea." Said Applejack

Jake closely watched Pidgeotto, and when he saw his opportunity, he went for it.

"Discharge Mareep!" Exclaimed Jake

Mareep stopped cleaning her eyes and release bolts of electricity from her wool coat. Rainbow didn't have time to give Pidgeotto a new command and watched as her Flying Type got hit with electricity. Pidgeotto screamed as the attack struck him.

"Get out of their, Pidgeotto!" Exclaimed Rainbow

Pidgeotto used his strength to break free from the attack to fly back to Rainbow. Mareep stopped her attack once she had no more electricity to give for the attack.

"Now that was cool." Said Pinkie

"Jake always seems to find a way to fight when all the odds are against him." Said Twilight

"Very true darling." Said Rarity

"Impressive Jake, but that little attack isn't going to stop Pidgeotto or me." Said Rainbow

"Pidgeotto."

"I know, but proves that even blind Mareep can still attack." Said Jake

"Mareep."

Soon a bright light engulfed Mareep. So Mareep is finally evolving. The group watched as Mareep evolved in front of them. Once the light disappeared, Mareep was now standing on two legs with pink skin and less wool covering her.

"Flaaffy, Flaaf."

"Alright, Mareep evolved into Flaaffy." Said Jake

Twilight searched the picnic basket for her Pokedex. She pulled it out and pointed it at Flaaffy.

"Flaaffy the Wool Pokemon. Flaaffy's wool quality changes so that it can generate a high amount of static electricity with a small amount of wool. The bare and slick parts of its hide are shielded against electricity."

"Well, I didn't expect Mareep to evolve, but I guess that makes the battle more interesting." Said Rainbow

"It does, now Flaaffy let's show them what you can do." Said Jake

"Flaaffy."

"Let's attack with Electro Ball." Said Jake

Flaaffy's tail began to glow as a ball of electricity formed on her tail. Flaaffy jumped into the air and launched the sphere of electricity right at Pidgeotto.

"Use Quick Attack to dodge." Said Rainbow

Pidgeotto sped forward and dodged the Electro Ball and continued right towards Flaaffy. Pidgeotto hit Flaaffy and sent her back to the ground. But it didn't faze her as she got back up ready to continue to fight.

"Let's go Charge once more." Said Jake

Flaaffy once again began to charge electricity inside of her wool. It also rose her special defense.

"So you're going to try to beat us with another single attack from an Electric Type move. We'll see about that. Pidgeotto let's finish Flaaffy off with Aerial Ace."

Pidgeotto soared high into the sky before coming down, missing the ground and speeding right towards Flaaffy.

"Flaaffy attack Pidgeotto with Wild Charge." Said Jake

Flaaffy began to run at full speed at Pidgeotto. As she ran, electricity surrounded her. The two Pokemon came at each other with their attacks. Then in an explosion the two met. Rainbow and Jake watched as their Pokemon came flying out of the smoke and landed on the ground in front of them both. The two looked to see spirals in their eyes symbolizing they could no longer fight.

"Looks like a draw for that battle." Said Jake

"Looks like it." Said Rainbow

Audino and Chansey ran out onto the battlefield. Chansey grabbed Pidgeotto, while Audino took Flaaffy. The two Pokemon returned to Fluttershy, who had her medical kit ready.

"Staravia, you're up boy." Said Rainbow

Staravia flew out onto the battlefield, "Staravia."

Now who should I use against Staravia? Jake thought it over and looked over at Empoleon.

"Empoleon, would you come and fight for me?" Asked Jake

Empoleon looked at Jake before making his way to the surface and stepping in front of Jake.

"So Jake's going with Empoleon." Said Rarity

"Interesting pick." Said Twilight

"Why?" Asked Applejack

"Jake has never fought with Empoleon. I haven't even seen him train with Empoleon." Said Twilight

"Oh, I can't wait to see who will win." Said Pinkie

"So Empoleon is your second pick. Now let's get this fight started. Staravia let's start it out with Agility." Said Rainbow

Staravia began to fly into the sky as he rose his speed.

"Now come on down and attack with Wing Attack." Said Rainbow

Staravia came back down from the sky and started to head towards Empoleon. His wings glowed as he kept growing closer and closer to Empoleon.

"Metal Claw." Said Jake

Empoleon's right fin tip began to glow white as Staravia grew close to Empoleon. Empoleon quickly used his fin to block out Staravia's attack. Staravia flew around Jake and Empoleon to return to Rainbow who was looking at Empoleon. Jake smiled that his countermeasure worked perfectly.

"Now let's show Rainbow and Staravia one of our attacks. Whirlpool!" Said Jake

Empoleon raised his fins above his head as a giant whirlpool formed over his head. He tossed it right at Staravia. Rainbow watched as the attack caught Staravia. Staravia screeched as he tried to break free of the spinning water.

"Now follow it up with Drill Peck." Said Jake

Empoleon's beck began to glow white before he leaped into the air and began to spin around like a top. He went right into the Whirpool and started to use the water to speed himself up. Staravia still couldn't break free of the raging water and allowed Empoleon to strike him. Finally, Empoleon hit Staravia free from the Whirpool and Empoleon landed on the ground next to Jake.

"Now that was impressive." Said Applejack

"Master is always trying to learn new ways to combine our attacks to do more damage." Said Garevoir

"Empoleon let's show what else you got. Surf now, Empoleon." Said Jake

Empoleon ran and jumped into the lake. Rainbow wondered what Jake was planning until Empoleon appeared up from the water riding a massive wave of water. Empoleon rode the wave right towards Rainbow and Staravia. Rainbow was in complete awe the of the wave; she didn't even give an order. Soon the wave came crashing down onto Staravia. Empoleon jumped off the wave and landed next to Jake as the wave of the water returned to the lake and on the ground was a knocked out Staravia.

"Well, I guess that's the end of that." Said Jake

"Empoleon."

Rainbow flew down and helped Staravia back to his feet. He looked at Rainbow with a sad look. She smiled and rubbed his head.

"Don't frown, you did great. Jake just still has the upper hand against us." Said Rainbow

"Staravia."

"That's my boy, now get to Fluttershy to make sure your back to tip-top shape." Said Rainbow

Starvia nodded his head and flew over to Fluttershy. Rainbow then flew to Jake. She held out her hoof to him. He smiled as he took her hoof and shook it.

"Thanks for another great match. But don't let it get to your head. I'll beat you one of these days." Said Rainbow

"No worries and I'll be waiting for that day to come." Said Jake

Jake sat outside on the steps of the library looking at the beautiful night sky. He loved looking up at the stars, as he never got a chance to see so many while he was in college. Jake then heard the door open and close and the sound of hooves. He turned to watch Twilight sit next to him.

"I see you're enjoying Luna's beautiful night sky." Said Twilight

"Yeah, I never got sights like these back on Earth." Said Jake

"Do you ever miss Earth, Jake?" Asked Twilight

"Sure I miss my video games, my laptop, phone and well all the technology of Earth. But in truth, I can live without it. So, yes I miss a little bit, but I'm not complaining." Said Jake

"I'm glad to hear." Said Twilight

The two continued to look up at the sky and the beautiful stars. Jake turned to look at Twilight and watched her shiver slightly in the code night air. It wasn't that cold, but it was somewhat chilly. Jake looped his hand around Twilight and pulled her close. She yipped as she felt herself move right next to Jake. Twilight looked up at him as he smiled and held her close. She could feel his body heat from being so close to him. She looked away as she blushed, but she wasn't going to complain. She decided to keep him warm as well. She unfolded her right wing and curled it around him to bring him closer to her.

"Look." Jake pointed the sky as a shooting star went across the night sky. "Make a wish."

They both closed their eyes and began to make their wish before they opened them once again.

"You make your wish?" Asked Jake

"Sure did, I just hope it comes true." Said Twilight

"You and me both." Said Jake

The two continued to hold each other tight as they looked at the beautiful night sky without a care in the world.

Man two updates in one day, I must be on fire. Well, more like I had this almost down and just needed to put the final touches it. I do hope you enjoy this chapter of Poke Eques.
