Chapter 6-Training

Training

Twilight and Jake, after having breakfast went down to Fluttershy's. Jake could only carry six Pokemon at a time, so he decided to let them out and follow. Twilight did the same with her Axew. They left the library and walked down the streets, which got plenty of ponies giving fearful glares and hateful ones as well. But Jake ignored them and continued towards Fluttershy's. They reached Fluttershy's home. Jake knocked, but Twilight pulled him to back. When they went to the back, Fluttershy was working with some of her animal friends. But also helping out was an Audino.

"Fluttershy." Said Twilight

Fluttershy turned and flew over and hugged Twilight and Jake

"So I see Celestia came by." Said Twilight

"Oh yes, she gave me a Pokedex, an Aura Reader, and this Audino." Said Fluttershy

Jake took out his Pokedex and pointed it at Audino.

"Audino the Hearing Pokemon. Using the feelers on its ears, it can tell how someone is feeling or when an egg might hatch."

"Interesting." Said Twilight

"It sure is. Audino is a perfect match for you Fluttershy. With Audino, it will help you heal up the Pokemon and make sure they are ok." Said Jake

"Jake, mind telling me a little more about Audino." Said Fluttershy

"Sure, Audino is a Normal Type Pokemon. It doesn't evolve, but it does Mega Evolve." Said Jake

"Mega Evolve." Said Twilight

"Yes, you certain Pokemon can evolve into a stronger form of themselves. But it only lasts for as long as the Pokemon battle does. Once the fight is over, it reverts to normal. But the only way to do such an evolution is that the trainer must have a Keystone and a Mega Stone that goes with the Pokemon that can Mega Evolve." Said Jake

"Pokemon just keep fascinating me." Said Twilight

"They sure can be." Said Jake

"I see you have a Pokemon as well, Twilight. Not mentioning a new one for you, Jake." Said Fluttershy

"Yeah, I got myself Axew." Said Twilight

"My new partner is Buneary." Said Jake

"I'm pleased to meet them both, Jake mind talking about them both." Said Fluttershy

"Yeah, I never got to ask about Axew while we ate breakfast." Said Twilight

"Sure, I'll start with your Axew, Twilight. You see Axew is a Dragon Type Pokemon. It can evolve into Fraxure and then into Haxorus. Now Buneary is a Normal Type Pokemon that evolves in Lopunny and with a Mega Stone, into Mega Lopunny." Said Jake

"I see everypony here got a Pokemon as well."

They looked to see Dash land on the ground and a Pokemon land on her back. Jake knew it to be a Starly. He pulled out his Pokedex and pointed it at Starly.

"Starly the Starling Pokemon. They flock in great numbers. Though small, they flap their wings with great power."

"I guess Celestia got you a Normal and Flying Type Pokemon. It fits perfect for you Dash." Said Jake

"Yeah, I just hope Tank doesn't get too jealous." Said Rainbow

"Tank?" Asked Jake

"Tank is Rainbow's pet tortoise." Said Fluttershy

"Then how does it follow around Rainbow?" Asked Jake

"Oh, I created a magic propeller and a forever cloud walking spell. It allows Tank to fly around with Rainbow and stay up with her in her cloud home." Said Twilight

"Interesting is Tank good at flying." Said Jake

"If you don't mind a tortoise hitting you in the head." Said Rainbow

"I guess I'll remember to pack a helmet when I see a flying tortoise." Said Jake

"Jake before Rainbow came by..." Rainbow interrupted Twilight as she was asking her question.

"Jake mind telling me about Starly." Said Rainbow

"Starly, as I said, is a Normal and Flying Type Pokemon. It will evolve twice. The evolutions are Staravia and Staraptor." Said Jake

"Sweet." Said Rainbow

"Now Rainbow is done interrupting me. I would like to ask more about Mega Evolution." Said Twilight

"Oh, I guess I did finish explaining it. Well, Mega Evolution is like an old evolution that allows a Pokemon to evolve into another form, but only for a limited time. But only certain Pokemon can Mega Evolve. But it's also hard to do." Said Jake

"Why?" Asked Fluttershy

"You see, as I said before, the Pokemon trainer needs a Keystone. But that's not all. The Pokemon, who Mega Evolves, must have a Mega Stone that goes with them. That is the only way that a Pokemon can Mega Evolve." Said Jake

"Does anything change in the Pokemon?" Asked Twilight

"Well, the Pokemon takes on a new form. But some also gain a new type. For example, Audino becomes a Normal and Fairy Type Pokemon when Mega Evolved. Another is that Buneary becomes a Normal and Fighting Type Pokemon. They also become stronger." Said Jake

"You know Jake. You should write a Pokemon book about this all." Said Twilight

"I guess I could." Said Jake

"It looks like everypony got a Pokemon."

Jake, Fluttershy, Twilight and Rainbow all looked to see Rarity and Applejack coming up. On Rarity's back was a Pachirisu. Following close next to Applejack was a Growlithe.

Jake took out his Pokedex and pointed them at both Pokemon. He first looked at Parchirisu.

"Parchirisu the EleSquirrel. It makes fur balls that crackle with static electricity. It stores them with berries in tree holes."

He moved over his Pokedex to Applejack's Growlithe

"Growlithe the Puppy Pokemon. Growlithe has a superb sense of smell. Once it smells anything, this Pokemon won't forget the scent, no matter what. It uses its advanced olfactory sense to determine the emotions of other living things."

"Nice to see you both got a Pokemon." Said Jake

"Yeah, I was surprised to see the princess. I was even more surprised when I got a Pokemon. My family wasn't tah thrilled about it. But Growlithe is a such a lover." Said Applejack

Applejack ran her hoof across Growlithe's head.

"Growlithe."

"At least Winona and Growlithe got along just fine." Said Applejack

"I was surprised as well, but who could hate such a cute Pokemon as this," said Rarity showing off her Parchirisu

"Parch, Parch, Parchirisu."

"So cute." Said Rarity

"I know Rarity."

Pinkie came bouncing up.

"Pinkie where's your Pokemon?" Asked Fluttershy

Soon a Spinarak came out of Pinkie's mane. "Here he is."

Jake once again brought out his Pokedex and pointed it at Spinarak.

"Spinarak the String Spit Pokemon. The web spun by Spinarak can be considered its second nervous system. It is said that this Pokemon can determine what kind of prey is touching its web just by tiny vibrations it feels through the web strands."

"Neat." Said Jake

"Neat, it's a big bug," said Rarity with a disgusted face.

"That's why he's so cute." Said Pinkie

"Matters who you're asking." Said Rarity

"Calm down Rarity. I like bug Pokemon. They are an unusual type of Pokemon." Said Jake

"Well, you may like them. But I sure don't." Said Rarity

"Partner, mind explainin' our Pokemon to us." Said Applejack

"Might as well, I'll start with Rarity's Parchirisu. Parchirisu is an Electric Type Pokemon. It has no evolutions. Applejack Growlithe's a Fire Type Pokemon. It can evolve into Arcanine. But it must be done with a fire stone. Last is Pinkie's Pokemon, Spinarak. Spinarak is a Bug and Poison Type Pokemon. It will evolve into Ariados." Said Jake

"So it seems all of us have a Pokemon now." Said Twilight

"But I don't understand why." Said Applejack

"I thought it was so we could show that Jake isn't part of Team Catastrophe and that Pokemon can be our friends." Said Rarity

"Rarity you are right, but Celestia told me when she gave me, Buneary, and Twilight, Axew that it is more to help me out. I know I'm the one who will stop Team Catastrophe, but I shouldn't do it alone. So you're going to help me out. Your Pokemon will allow me to train my team and in turn train your Pokemon. Now that we're all here how about a Pokemon battle." Said Jake

"I'm totally in." Said Rainbow

"I see why not, it could get us ready for the real thing." Said Twilight

"Then let's do it. But first, we have to figure out the order. Let's see, hmm, I got it. I'll take on Twilight, then Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash will be third, Rarity fourth, with Applejack being fifth and Pinkie will be last." Said Jake

"Sounds fine with us." Said Applejack

"Alright, let's get this kicked into high gear." Said Rainbow

"Star, Starly."

"Fluttershy, you don't mind healing out Pokemon after the fight." Said Jake

"Sure, Audino and I can do it." Said Fluttershy

"Audino."

"But one major rule were not going to push our Pokemon to exhaustion. So the fight will end when the other sides Pokemon reaches 30% health. I think training shouldn't be a full on battle." Said Jake

"Agreed." Said Fluttershy

"Another thing, you girls can pull out at any time. Nothing is wrong with that. You'll have to start to learn to watch your Pokemon and know when to call it off. As I have said before, trainer and Pokemon must have a strong bond to let the Pokemon know that you won't do anything to harm them. Trust is the greatest thing you can give to your Pokemon." Said Jake

"We understand darling." Said Rarity

"I guess I'm up first. So let's battle Jake." Said Twilight

"Let's do it, Twilight." Said Jake

Jake pulled out his Aura Reader as Twilight did the same. They each placed it over their eyes and activated them. The screen covered both of their eyes.

"Alright, first let me explain the Aura Reader. It will give you all the moves your Pokemon knows so far. The green bar is your Pokemon's health. It will go red when your Pokemon takes damage. It also allows you to see the stats of your opponent's Pokemon as well as yours. It also allows you to see your whole Pokemon team and which number position they are. Last is that it will give stat damage each Pokemon receives. Think you got it all, Twilight." said Jake

"Easy, now let's see what I can do. Axew I choose you." Said Twilight

"Axew."

"Ralts, you're going to be my pick." Said Jake

"Ralts."

"Now let's get this party started. I'll give you the first attack, Twilight." Said Jake

"Axew, let's show him what you got. Use dragon rage." Said Twilight

Blue energy started to form in Axew's mouth as it charged its attack. Jake stood completely fine as he had no worry about him. Axew released the energy at Ralts. Ralts stood as firm as her master. The dragon rage hit its target. Twilight cheered, but as the smoke settled, Ralts was still completely fine.

"What?!" Asked Twilight

"So here's why that didn't work, type advantage." Said Jake

"What?" Asked Twilight

"You see Ralts is both a Psychic and Fairy Type Pokemon. Now, every Pokemon has strengths and weaknesses. It is the job of a trainer to know those strengths and weaknesses and how to use them to their advantage. For instance, Fairy Type Pokemon aren't affected by Dragon-Type moves. So my Ralts doesn't have to fear any Dragon-Type moves. But in turn you Axew better fear my Ralts. For Fairy Type moves are strong against Dragon Type Pokemon. Let's show Twilight what we mean, Ralts." Said Jake

"Ralts, Ralts."

"Ralts use Disarming Voice." Said Jake

Ralts nodded, and she sent out a salvo of hearts from her mouth, straight towards Axew.

"Axew dodge." Said Twilight

Axew made it out of the way as the attack struck the ground.

"Ralts use Teleport." Said Jake

Ralts disappeared causing everypony to look around for Jake's Ralts.

"Ralts appeared behind Axew and used Double Team." Said Jake

Ralts appeared behind Axew and started to split into multiple Ralts. Twilight tried to follow the original, but she lost Jake's Ralts. Jake had her cornered. But Twilight wasn't out yet.

"Axew use Scratch to find the real Ralts." Said Twilight

Axew's hands glowed white as it started to swipe at each Ralts. Each Ralts disappeared into smoke after each strike.

"Ralts, use Confusion." Said Jake

Axew turned as Ralts sent out her mind waves. It wrapped around Axew before exploding off. Axew hit the dirt hard and lost some of its health. But it wasn't done fighting yet. How do I bet Jake's Ralts if I have no idea the strengths and weaknesses of Psychic or Fairy Type Pokemon. Twilight growled under her breath as Axew got up.

"Ralts hit Axew again with Disarming Voice." Said Jake

Ralts once again sent out a salvo of hearts towards Axew.

"Axew dodge." Axew dodged them once again. "Now use Assurance."

Axew's hard grew dark as it ran at Ralts. I forget Axew knows Assurance, a Dark Type move. Wait Dark Type moves are highly effective against Psychic Type Pokemon. Before Jake could give his order to Ralts, Axew had already started to pound Ralts. With one final one, sending Ralts hard to the ground.

"Amazing, Assurance was super effective against Ralts." Said Twilight

"Just for the record Twilight, Psychic Type Pokemon are weak to Dark Type moves. But don't count Ralts out yet. Ralts Teleport." Ralts disappeared before appearing in front of Jake. "Now Double Team." Ralts created three more copies of itself.

"This again." Said Twilight

"No, this will be much different. Ralts Teleport." Said Jake

All four Ralts disappeared causing Twilight to freak out. Soon the four appeared.

"Use Assurance, Axew." Said Twilight

Axew attacked, but each attack only destroyed a copy of Ralts. Twilight started to sweat as the real Ralts wasn't here. Soon Axew was hit with Disarming Voice. It took a good chunk of his health away.

"Now that's a combo. Ralts, let's finish this up with Confusion." Said Jake

Ralts started to create psychic energy which she sent out and attacked Axew. The energy exploded off Axew and caused him to come to a stop next to Twilight.

"That's game. Your Pokemon is at 30% health left." Said Jake

"I guess I have a lot to learn." Said Twilight

"You sure do Twilight, but you did great." Jake bent down to his Ralts. "You also did great."

He rubbed Ralts head as it smiled.

"Ralts, Ralts."

"Now Fluttershy, you're up next." Said Jake

"Ok, you ready Audino." Said Fluttershy

"Audino."

Fluttershy stood where Twilight did as Twilight carried back Axew. She rubbed his head as it was his first battle. Audino stood in front of Fluttershy as Jake watched Ralts return to his team. Now let me think here. Audino is just a Normal Type Pokemon. Fighting Type moves work great, but I don't have a Pokemon who can use any yet. But I at least can take on a Normal with a Normal.

"Eevee, let's show them what you got." Said Jake

Eevee ran from his team up to face Audino.

"Eevee."

"Let's do this." Said Jake

"Audino use Pound." Said Fluttershy

Audino ran at Eevee.

"Eevee dodge." Eevee dodged as Audino nearly got her. "Eevee Quick Attack."

Eevee accelerated and struck Audino. It took some of Audino's health, but not a lot. This is going to be an exciting battle with both Audino and Eevee being Normal Type Pokemon. Now, wait, Audino can learn Fairy Type moves, I better watch for those as well. They may not do much, but they will still hurt.

"Audino use Misty Terrain." Said Fluttershy

A pink mist began to cover the area.

"Audino use Play Nice." Said Fluttershy

Audino started to bounce around after a while. Eevee happily joined in. Jake watched as Eevee's attack stat went down.

"Now Audino, use Growl." Said Fluttershy

Audino released a powerful, threatening growl that caused Eevee's attack to drop even more. How is Fluttershy this perfect. She correctly combined two attacking lowering stats. Not mentioning Misty Terrain makes it impossible for stat conditions to play any effect. But Fluttershy wasn't done yet.

"Disarming Voice." She said

Audino released her salvo of heart straight at Eevee.

"Eevee dodge and use Quick Attack."

Eevee used Quick Attack to avoid the attack and go straight for Audino

"Audino dodge." Audino moved out of the way of Eevee's attack. "Now use Disarming Voice."

The hearts once again came at Eevee. This time, they hit causing some of Eevee's health to go down. Eevee hit the ground after the attack.

"Audino finish it with Pound." Said Fluttershy

"Eevee you need to get up and dodge." Said Jake

But it was too late for Eevee. Audino had already reached her. Audino's hand turned white as it struck Eevee toward Jake. Eevee's health went to the 30% percent mark as everypony just looked at the smiling Fluttershy and her Audino.

"I guess you win this one Fluttershy." Said Jake

"I do, yeah us." She flew and hugged Audino. "You did great as well."

"Aud, Audino."

Jake bent down to his bummed Eevee. "Hey, I know we lost. But that's part of training. You still did great, but Fluttershy just had us outmatched with her skills."

"Eevee."

"Don't get too down. We still have plenty of fights ahead of us. I know you'll grow stronger with each passing one." Said Jake

"Eevee, Eev."

"That's my girl." Said Jake

"But how ya do it, Fluttershy?" Asked Applejack

"Oh, well after Celestia gave me Audino, the Pokedex, and Aura Reader. I spent some time using the Aura Reader to understand Audino's moves." Said Fluttershy

"Not a bad strategy. Understanding your Pokemon's moves is one way to know your Pokemon. It's also an excellent way to figure out what each move does so that you can use it effectively in battle. The right move at the wrong time or the wrong move at the right time can mean success or defeat when it comes to a Pokemon battle." Said Jake

"So with Fluttershy done, that mean Starly and me are up next." Said Rainbow

"It would seem that way." Said Jake

"Let's make sure Eevee, Ralts, and Axew are alright, Audino." Said Fluttershy

"Audino."

They walked off as the three Pokemon went to them. Rainbow flapped over to the battle spot with Starly landing in front of her. She slipped on her Aura Reader and activated it.

"Let's see that Pokemon, Jake." Said Rainbow

"Mareep, you're up for this fight." Said Jake

"So here we go, you ready to fight, Starly." Said Rainbow

"Star, Starly."

"Mareep, let's show them what an Electric Type Pokemon can do." Said Jake

"Mareep."

"Alright, I'm pumped let's fight." Said Dash

"Mareep, start off this battle with Thunder Wave." Said Jake

Mareep charged up its tail and launched an electric attack at Starly. It struck Starly and paralyzed him.

"Great hit Mareep. Now follow that up with Tackle." Said Jake

Mareep began to run at Starly who was still struggling with being paralyzed.

"Starly use Quick Attack to dodge." Said Rainbow

Before Mareep made contact, Starly disappeared in speed.

"Now come back and finish it." Said Rainbow

Starly came back and struck Mareep. Mareep hit the ground and rolled, but got right back on her feet. Starly flew in the sky above Mareep.

"Starly, Tackle." Said Rainbow

Starly came down at Mareep.

"Mareep, dodge." Mareep moved out of the way of Starly. "Now use Thunder Shock."

Mareep started to charge her tail.

"Starly dodge it." Said Rainbow

Starly tried but couldn't dodge. He couldn't move as static came off of his body. Mareep had her attack fully charged and let go the electricity in her tail. It struck Starly and caused massive damage to the Flying Type Pokemon. Rainbow growled, but Starly was still in the fight.

"Starly use Growl." Said Rainbow

Starly growled at Mareep causing some of Mareep's attack to go down.

"Now use Quick Attack." Said Rainbow

Starly speed towards Mareep.

"Dodge." Mareep jumped out of the way. "Use Tackle."

Mareep tried to strike Starly, but Rainbow was one step ahead.

"Use Quick Attack to get out of the way." Starly speed behind Mareep and safely out of the of Mareep's attack. "Wing Attack."

Starly's wings glowed white as he went down towards Mareep. The attack struck Mareep causing damage. Mareep landed next to Jake.

"You're quick on the draw, Rainbow." Said Jake

"Sure am, don't call me the fastest flyer for nothing." Said Dash

"Glad to hear that, but let's see if you can dodge this. Mareep, use Thunderbolt." Said Jake

Mareep charged her tail once again, but the electricity also surged all across her body. Rainbow knew what was coming as she had seen Mareep use Thunderbolt to defeat Shadow Purrloin.

"Starly attack Mareep with Quick Attack." Said Rainbow

But the static returned, and Mareep had charged all the electricity she needed. She released it straight at Starly. Volts of electricity struck Starly. Once it was over, Starly feel to the ground with 30% health left. Jake claimed another victory for his Pokemon.

"That's game." Said Jake

"Dang it, I lost." Said Rainbow

"Don't feel down Rainbow, you did great." Said Jake

"Yeah." She picked up Starly and nuzzled her nose to his beak. "You were awesome, let's get you healed up."

"Great job Mareep." Said Jake

"Mareep."

"Now let's see, who is next up." Said Jake

"That would be Pachirisu and me." Said Rarity

"Then come on down." Said Jake

Rarity walked on down and placed on her Aura Reader, and Pachirisu walked out in front of her.

"Pach, Pach, Pachirisu."

"Espurr, your up." Said Jake

Espurr got up and walked over and stood in front of Jake.

"Es, Espurr."

"So you ready, Rarity." Said Jake

"As I'll ever be." Said Rarity

"Then let's battle. I'll give you the first move." Said Jake

"Let's show them our stuff. Start off with Growl." Said Rarity

Pachirisu began to growl loudly at Espurr, causing Espurr's attack to go down.

"That's how we do it, darling. Now show Espurr your Quick Attack." Said Rarity

Pachirisu got down on all fours and began to run at top speeds toward Espurr. Pachirisu was too fast for Jake to give an order and struck Espurr. Espurr was pushed back a bit. Pachirisu reappeared back on Rarity's side.

"Nice hit Rarity, but let me show you what a real Psychic Type Pokemon can do. Confusion, Espurr." Said Jake

Espurr's eyes glowed as it started to store psychic energy. Once complete it released it Pachirisu. It struck Pachirisu, and as the smoke cleared, Pachirisu was wobbling around.

"Yes, I confused Pachirisu." Said Jake

"You what?" Asked Rarity

"Easy, your Pachirisu is confused now. So if you attempt an attack, you might just have a good chance having your Pachirisu striking itself. But it also gives me an open opportunity. Now Espurr, Covet." Said Jake

Espurr ran up to Pachrisu and started to smack it with its paw, and after Pachirsu had fallen to the ground, Espurr began to search Pachirisu. But Espurr found nothing, so it returned to Jake. Pachirisu got back up but no longer confused

"Now if your Espurr is quite done frisking my Pokemon. Pachirisu, let's show him some electricity. Spark." Said Rarity

Pachirisu began to glow in blue electricity, and once charged, Pachirisu released it at Espurr.

"Dodge." Espurr moved out of the way. "Now Confusion once more."

Espurr released another torrent of psychic energy at Pachirisu. It exploded as it made contact with the electric Pokemon. Pachirisu landed next to Rarity with only 30% health left. Jake raised his fist into the air as he had won yet another battle. But this time, he won it with his Espurr.

"Lost, oh well. Win some lose some. Great job Pachirisu, let's get you healed up." Said Rarity

"Pach, Pach, Pachirisu."

"Great job Espurr. Now return to the others." Espurr ran off, and Jake looked at his Zorua. "Get up here Zorua. You're going to take on Growlithe."

"Zorua."

Zorua ran up and stood in front of Jake as Applejack took her place. Her Aura Reader was already covering her eye. Her Growlithe was already ready for battle.

"Let's see what ya got, partner." Said Applejack

"Oh, we sure will." Said Jake

"We shall see partner. Growlithe, Ember." Said Applejack

Growlithe's mouth formed fire in its mouth before launching out a shot out an ember of fire.

"Zorua dodge." Zorua moved out of the way of the Ember. "now use Scratch."

Zorua ran up at Growlithe, and her front paws glowed white. She started to scratch Growlithe across his whole body. Jake smirked, but Growlithe jumped away and faced Zorua.

"Flamethrower." Said Applejack

Growlithe closed his mouth, and it opened it. He released a torrent of flames straight at Zorua. Jake had no time to order Zorua away as the fire consumed her. Jake raised his arms as the flames burnt away the land. Once it was over, Zorua still stood, but slight burn marks sat on her body.

"Show what a loyal dog can do, Flame Charge." Said Applejack

"Growlithe."

Growlithe began to run towards Zorua as she struggled to get over the Flamethrower.

"Zorua, you need to move." Said Jake

Growlithe's began to be consumed by fire. Growlithe began to run faster and faster as more fire consumed him. Once it had enough, it jumped and struck Zorua, once again lowering her health. Jake growled as Zorua rolled in front of him. She slowly got up but fell back down. Even though Zorua wasn't at 30% health, but she couldn't go on. Jake watched as Growlithe's speed went up from using Flame Charge.

"Zorua, can you fight." Said Jake

Zorua struggled to get up but fell back down the ground.

"Looks like you won Applejack, I won't push Zorua any further." Said Jake

"Did ya hear that, Growlithe. We won!" Said Applejack

"Grow, Growlithe."

Growlithe jumped up and began to lick Applejack. She laughed as Jake picked up Zorua. She looked away as she felt sorry that she lost. But Jake just rubbed his nose across her nose.

"Don't pout, Zorua. You're still getting over battling Kitty's Purrloin. With a little more training, you will defeat any opponent." Said Jake

"Zorua."

"Fluttershy, you and Audino don't mind healing her up." Said Jake

"No problem Jake, that's why I'm the nurse." Said Fluttershy

"Aud, Audino."

"Well Pinkie, your last up. You ready to show me what your Spinarak can do." Said Jake

"Sure am." Said Pinkie

"Spin, Spinarak."

"Well, let's see. Cyndaquil you're going to face off against Spinarak." Said Jake

"Cyndaquil."

"Jake, that doesn't seem right. I think my Spinarak would be at a disadvantage." Said Pinkie

"Yes, that is right Pinkie. But you each need to learn to battle even if you are at a disadvantage. So you still up for it, Pinkie." Said Jake

"You know it." She bounced over and placed Spinarak down before getting into a battle position. "Let's do this."

"Pinkie you are a bundle of unlimited energy. But I agree, let's battle." Said Jake

"Spinarak, String Shot." Said Pinkie

Spinarak shot out silky threads from its back end that wrapped Cyndaquil tight. Through the Aura Reader, both sides could see Cyndaquils speed lower. Cyndaquil tried to break free, but Jake had the answer for his poor Pokemon.

"Cyndaquil use your fire to burn the silk away." Said Jake

"Cyndaquil."

Cyndaquil's back grew red hot as the fire burned away the silk. Cydaquil was now free of the webbing.

"Now, Smoke Screen." Said Jake

Cyndaquil released from its mouth a thick layer of smoke. It covered the field hiding everything in sight. Pinkie coughed as she tried to look for Cyndaquil as much as her Spinarak was doing. Jake had his opening to attack Spinarak.

"Cyndaquil, Flame Wheel." Said Jake

Pinkie and Spinarak watched as a wheel of fire came burning towards them. It struck Spinarak taking a good chunk of Spinarak's health with it. Since Spinarak was a Bug Type Pokemon, Fire Type moves were very efficient against Spinarak. But even after getting hit with a Flame Wheel Spinarak was still in the fight.

"Use Poison Sting." Said Pinkie

Spinarak started to shoot out a lot of Poison spikes. Cyndaquil did her best dodge them, but a few times, they hit her. But it didn't take a significant portion of her health. That was until Jake saw Cyndaquil fall to the ground with purple bubbles coming from her. Shoot, Spinarak was able to poison Cyndaquil. I'm going to have to finish this fight, quick.

"Cyndaquil, Flame Charge." Said Jake

Cyndaquil began to run at Spinarak as flames began to consume her body. Pinkie watched as Cyndaquil came at her spider.

"Dodge now by leaping into the air using your string." Said Pinkie

Spinarak shot out a line of string and attached it to a tree. Once attached, it pulled itself up and was safe as Cyndaquil passed right under Spinarak. Cyndaquil stopped its attack as it made no contact with Spinarak. She looked around for the insect but flinched when the effects of being poisoned took away more of her health.

"Spinarak, Leech Life." Said Pinkie

Spinarak fell from the tree and bite down on Cyndaquil. It began to drain the life force of Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil flamed up its back to force Spinarak off as it had down with String Shot. Spinarak let go and got away from Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil turned to face her opponent but fell to the ground. She had reached 30% health. Jake sighed as Pinkie bounced happily up and down.

"You win this one, Pinkie." Said Jake

"Yeah!" Said Pinkie

Fluttershy flew over with Audino and helped out. Cyndaquil. Jake walked up and stroked her head.

"You get some rest. You did great." Said Jake

"Cyn, da, Cyndaquil."

The mane six and Jake all sat on a hill facing the sun as it lowered into the horizon. They had packed a little picnic to celebrate today. The Pokemon slept around their partners as the fun of the day had taken its toll on them. Jake released a sigh as watched the sun creep ever closer to the horizon.

"Today was a perfect day." Said Jake

"Sure was." Said Twilight

"Though I wish ponies didn't fear Pokemon as they do. Maybe then they could see the beauty of Pokemon." Said Rarity

"In time they will see the truth of Pokemon." Said Jake

"So what now?" Asked Fluttershy

"We train and prepare ourselves for the coming battles. Team Catastrophe isn't going to stop till they have what they want. They won't care who gets hurt in the process. So we need to be ready to fight back when the time comes." Said Jake

"That's right, now that were armed, we can do some real damage." Said Rainbow

"Calm down Rainbow, remember, your Pokemon isn't a lifeless weapon. They are living, breathing creatures just like us." Said Jake

"He's right." Said Applejack

"But even so, we do now having a fighting chance. It's a long way to the top from this point on. It will be a struggle, but one I think united we can survive. So how about it, all together," said Jake as he placed his hand forward.

"You can count me in. I will never leave your side." Said Twilight

"Partner, ya got me as well." Said Applejack

"I don't usually partake in such crazy things, but I'll make an exception. You can count Rarity in as well." Said Rarity

"Oh yeah." Said Rainbow

"This is going to be fun." Said Pinkie

"You have my help as well." Said Fluttershy

Each mare placed a hoof on top of Jake's hand.

"Then together nothing can stop us. We are now the line of defense between Equestria and Team Catastrophe. With our Pokemon and each other, there is no task we won't be able to overcome. Together we will put an end to Team Catastrophe and show this world the wonders of Pokemon." Said Jake

The girls cheered as they each raised their hooves to the sky. They all looked out at the sun as it finally started to disappear into the horizon. The perfect way to end such a perfect day.
