Chapters In the Middle of the Warzone
"Rainbow Dash," Doctor Redheart said trotting up to the young mare. She turned, and he nearly fainted. He remembered the first time he saw her. With her torn ear, metal wing, and scared eye, she was scarred for life. She growled at him, the time in the War had made her teeth pointed and sharp, like a Timber Wolf's.
"General Dash!" She snapped. Redheart stepped back, suddenly scared of her. But she wouldn't hurt or attack anyone as long as she believed they weren't the enemy.
"General Dash, you know the war is.. um.....over, right?" Redheart tried to explain. The General rolled her eyes and walked back over to window. The War had ended two years ago. But she did not believe that. The doctors tried to explain to her, but she trusted nopony. Only Redheart.
"Not for me, never for me. It will always haunt me." the General said. "The War has taken too much from me that I can't forget it." her eyes staring blankly at the window. He sighed. At least he tried.
"Well, we brought a friend for you." Rainbow snapped her head to look at him. She growled at him.
"I hate friends! What use are they in the War?!" She snapped. Redheart sighed.
"Come on in." He said getting out of the way of the doorway. A light blue stallion appeared. His wings were folded and clam, but when he saw her they sprang up with fear and surprise.
"This... Is Sorain Skies, a volunteer. He will be your friend. I will come back in twenty minutes. And General," Dash stared at him. "Please try." She looked away. Then he walked out closing the door behind him, leaving him alone with a War Soldier. He studied her. Her tense shoulders and wings made it hard for him to relax.
"Oh, please." She said. He looked at her. Trying to find something friendly or kind, but everything was scarred or battle struck. "I know I'm not a pretty sight. I know I'm not what I use to be. But please, don't look at me like a monster. The War is still going on, they all try to have me fixed, whatever that means, but there is no reason for somepony to look at me like that." She said. When the Doctor said he was going to help with a War Soldier, he didn't think she would be this bad.
"Ughmmmm." He managed. She looked at him. No pain, no happiness, nothing, no emotion were in her eyes. Only disappointed.
"As I thought. You can sit over there. I'll be at the window." She said walking over to the window. Wait, what? Crap! He made the wrong impression! He surged forward and accidentally grabbed her nonmetal wing. She spun around, her battle training kicking in. Pinning him to the ground. She rasied a hoof to finish off her enemy, but then her vision cleared and she saw her 'friend ' pinned to the ground, shaking in fear.
"Sorry." She said climbing off of him. He got up.
"I'm sorry." She froze. "I'm sorry I touched your wing, I didn't expect it to be so sensitive. But I guess it has to be now, so you don't lose it." Was he talking to me without fear? Who is he?
"It's fine." She said. Staring out of the window, watching all the Cloudsdale ponies come in and out of the Hospital.
"My name is Sorain Skies, but you can call me Sorain, Rainbow." Rainbow tensed.
"Call. Me. General or Dash if you must." She said. Then her back detensed and she relaxed. He smiled and walked over to her sitting down next to her.
"Watch'ca doing?" He asked. She glanced at him, then back out the window.
"This is my only escape to the outside world. And my only way to see all my enemies." She replied. Sorain bit his lip trying not laugh.
"Aren't I an enemy?" He asked. She didn't even look up.
"Redheart introduced you to me, which means your have an alliance with Redheart, who has an alliance with me." He smiled, he was kinda getting how her brain worked.
"Sooo, Dash, where are your family? Your personal alliances?" He asked. She paused. Her eyes flickered.
"I-I forget. I'll remember is waking up in a battlefield. The War is my family. The Soldiers tried to help me remember, but......nothing. I know nothing else, other than the War and this Hospital." Sorain stared at her in disbelief.
"You've never been out of this Hospital in two years?!" Dash shook her head.
"Haven't been out of this room in two years, they keep me here. Like a prisoner, like.... Like I'm a hostage. Only pony that I talk to are the doctors, but all of them keep their distance." She said. That's why she like the window she's trying to taste the freedom she doesn't have. He opened his mouth to speak but she continued.
"They tried to convince me to get my old friends and family down here, but I don't know how they can get my War family down here." She truly didn't know anything about family. She only knew how to fight, survive, and kill.
"Dash, I can help you. Please let me help you." He begged. She tore her eyes away from the window to look at him.
"But I'm a monster. Everypony who sees me says so." She said. She heard though the door, another voulteer was going to help her before Sorain, but he asked for her picture first. When he saw her picture, he screamed 'I don't want to trapped alone in a room with that......thing?! Are you Crazy? It's a monster!' Sorain smiled.
"Not to me." He replied. She looked at him 'he just be lying, but what does he get from that?' she thought.
"Fine, you can help." Then she looked back at the window.
In the Middle of the Warzone
Sorain paced up and down, in front of Rainbow Dash's -General Dash, whatever!- door. It was two weeks since he met her, and every day he would go and talk to her for an hour, then leave. Three days ago, he had asked the doctors about what he planed. They said that in three days they would tell him their answer. What is they said no? Would Dash be mad? Would if they said yes? What would he do then? He started to pace faster.
"Sorain! Stop pacing! Your giving me a headache!" Spitfire said, she was sitting in a chair in the opposite side of the hallway. Spitfire was his best friend since his colthood. She hadn't met Rainbow, but she said 'I you're going to help her, I'm going to be with you every hoof-step of the way!'. Someponies thought they were dating, but it would be like dating your own sister! Yuck!
Besides this a Soraindash fanfic, not a SorainxSpitfire fanfic. I don't know that name. Sorry for interrupting, your annoying author, Firelight. P.S did I forget to mention that this is in Cloudsdale?
"Sorain Skies?" Sorain looked up to see a light yellow mare pegasus with a light pink mane standing in front of him, her mane was twisty and curly. She held in her wing a clipboard, and was scribble things down. She wore a doctor's coat, too.
"That's me." He said. She looked up with her unimpressed turquoise eyes. Then glanced back down and checked something off. She put her clipboard and pencil under her wing, and turned around.
"Follow me, Mr. Skies." Spitfire leaped from the chair.
"What about me? Can't I come?" She demanded. Spitfire also had been in the War, but had to come home early, because she had this really nasty illness. Everypony called her a coward, that's she was a fake. But Sorain saw her, her mane was wet and dull, her forehead beaded with sweat. Her face green and pale. And when she tried to speak........it was like a frog gave birth I'm her throat. She looked up at Spitfire.
"And you are........" She asked.
"Spitfire, Spitfire Lightning." She said. Sorain giggled a bit as she said her full name. She glared at him. The yellow pegasus didn't notice.
"Hmmmmm, nope, I'm sorry you are not on the list!" She said.
"What?!" She snapped stepping forward. I had to get step in before this got ugly. I stepped forward,
"Look, Spitfire, I'll tell you everything later. Okay, just......hum...." I stumbled with something she could do while she waited. Then inspiration struck. "You can ask the doctors to tell you more about the General!" I said. She rolled her eyes.
"Whatever." She said walking back, to her seat and sitting down.
"Come along, Mr. Skies." The doctor said. Spitfire rolled her eyes.
"Okay." He said following her.
A few minutes later they later, they arrived at a two large metal doors.
"Here you go. Redheart, Sick Vain, and Nurse Warmheart are inside." She said about to walk off, when I realized I didn't get her name.
"Hey! What's your name? I didn't catch it." He asked. She looked at him.
"You call me Ms. Shy." She said then she walked away. He stared after her, then gulped and walked threw the door.
"Ah! Sorain! We were waiting for you." Redheart said stepping back, then room was small like type you go to for your normal checkup. The two other Pegasi were standing behind him. One was a bright purple, and the other a light yellow. These must be Sick Vain and Nurse Warmheart.
"We have we have discussed this over and over, and finally agreed." Nurse Warmheart said, her light green coat matching her light yellow mane.
"Yes?" Sorain said with anticipation. He was so nervous. What have they decided?!
"We've agreed that, Rainbow Jennifer Dash, can stay with you and learn about modern times, and how to be civil, but be warned you only have two years." Sorain's heart pounded as Sick Vain, said those words. She was going to stay with him and learn.
"Thank you!" He said. He smiled.
"But, if she doesn't learn and isn't able to enter modern society in two years, we will be placing her in a mental facility. And that's where she'll be spending the rest of her days." Sorain didn't believe what was stake. But he was going to try!
"When will I be able to bring her home?" He asked. His home, will be her home for two years so he may as well start saying that now. Sick Vain walked over to him and placed a hoof on his shoulder.
"Your two years begin tonight ." She said. He opened and closed his mouth, tonight? Wow. They were ready for her to just leave!
"I'll bring her home tonight, then." He said. He glad he pick up his house now. Doctor Redheart smiled and nodded.
"Return to Ms. Dash's room and you can take her home ." He said home very uncomfortably. "And when you go, go to the front office and ask for her medicine, just in case she..... You know attacks somepony, they'll calm her down." He said. Then he nodded towards the door.
"You may go now." He said. Sorain walked back in silence. When he rounded the last corner, he saw Spitfire talking to a doctor.
"So, shes how old?" She asked the doctor. He had a light grey coat with a dark blue mane that dangled in front of his eyes.
"We don't know." Spitfire looked confused.
"Don't you know who she was before she forgot?" She asked. Sorain leaned on the corner not wanted in intrude on their conversation.
"Well we did, but we gave them to her to see if we could jog her memory, but when we came back to check on her. Well......we saw that she burned the information. 'If this knowledge gets into the enemy hooves, we could lose this war.' was all she said." the doctor shook his head. "That was the only thing that we knew about her past.....and she burned it" he said. Sorain trotted forward. Spitfire saw him and blushed.
"Fine. You were right, this Rainbow Dash is quite interesting." She said walking over to him. "So? What did they say?" She asked. So he told her. She smiled.
"Wow. Tonight?" Sorain nodded. "I can't wait to meet her, but they did show me a picture of what has looked like before the War, they said that it was the only thing they could salvage from the fire." She said pulling out a burned picture. A baby blue mare with a rainbow mane was in the photo, she was smiling. Her magenta eyes filled with love and happiness, she had both her wings, too. One corner of the image was burned all the way, but it must of had her birthday, age and name, cause all that was visible was:
Rainbow Jennifer Dash, Age:
He stared at the picture, she wasn't just pretty, she was frickin beautiful, which was probably why she wanted to go to the war. To get some scars to lower her prettiness, she must of had a dozens marriage proposals or a million date offers, maybe she wanted to get away from all of that. It would make sense.
"I know right? She's beautiful. I kinda want to meet her now." Sorain sighed as Spitfire put away the picture. But he said nothing as he walked to her door. He opened the door. Dash was sitting in her spot. At the window. She looked up when she heard the door opening.
"Dash?" She stared at him.
"You're late." She commented, he smiled.
"Oops. Dash, come here." He said. She looked at him suddenly wariy, what was he planning? But she walked over to him, anyway.
"You are coming home with me." He said. She studied his face. So full of hope. But what did that mean?
"Home?" She asked. Sorain smiled, not understand that she didn't know what a home is.
"Yup! Home." He said. She was baffled, what was a home? She'll have to get her answer later.
"With........ you?" She asked. It wasn't like she didn't enjoy their daily chats. But she didn't think he would go through with his promise to help her understand, and learn. Whatever that means. He smiled.
"Yup!" He said. "We'll be walking home with my alliance, Spitfire. General, meet Spitfire. Spitfire meet General." He moved to the side of the doorway so the two mares could see each other. Rainbow backed up so fast that she tripped over herself. She hadn't seen a mare since the War, and most of the other soldiers were stallions, so many of the mares she saw were her enemy. So she didn't know why Sorain would have an alliance with one. Spitfire looked at her. She looked nothing like the beauty in the picture. She wondered why she was shaking on the ground.
"S-s-s- Sorain! She's an enemy!" She managed to get out. Sorain walked over to her calmly and sat down next to her.
"Not all mares are enemies, just like how not all stallions are enemies either." He told her. She looked at him. Then her eyes turned cold and hard. She got up and brushed herself off. Like nothing happened.
"I knew that!" She snapped. "So where is home?" She asked. Sorain looked at her.
"It can't be in this room......but the doctors that I heard outside said that this would be my last night here...... Is that what home it? A death wish? Is she here to kill me? Because you won't take me alive!" 'stupid! Dash! Stupid! You shouldn't of said won't take me alive! They'll just kill me now! ' she thought as she dropped into a defense crouch. She glared at him. He betrayed me.
"No! Dash! Home is....ughm. Home is.....home?" He said. Honestly he didn't know how to describe home. Luckily Spitfire stepped forward, to help.
"General, home isn't a death wish. Home is someplace where you feel loved and safe. Most ponies refer home as the place they live, but others say home is where the heart is. And I don't mean like in your chest!" She quickly said as Dash put a hoof on her heart like she was trying to protect it. Dash lowered her hoof. She stood and walked over to Spitfire.
"Have we met before?" She asked. Spitfire took this question by surprise. Her ears went back as the small General stared at her.
"Wha? Waht? I-I don't know, have we?" She asked confused. Rainbow stared harder. Spitfire didn't want to break her stare, Sorain said that she got angry or she would attack if you did the wrong thing. But it was hard to look at her. Her bangs covered one of her eyes, the scar on the other -she noticed- cut threw her eyelid so when she blinked she could still see Spitfire. Her ear was ripped and shredded. And Spitfire could only imagine what she looked like when it was dripping with blood, her eyes filled with rage. Her good nonmetal wing feathers were puffed out, and molting. Most likely from not flying for two years. Her metal wing was hard like iron, maybe it was for show, maybe she could actually use it. Whatever the case if she tried to run, Dash would easily catch up with her. She could put all her speed and strength into her nonmetal wing and will the metal wing to work. Of course there was the possibility that the metal wing is old and rusty. But it wasn't likely, she probably cleaned it out every night.
"Spitfire, I'll remember." She said getting out of her face. Spitfire breathed out in relief. "So, Sorain. When will we leave?" She asked trotting over to Sorain.
"Right now." He said walking towards the door. Dash's ears perked up.
"You mean outside?! Out in the Warzone?!" She asked. Sorain nodded. She looked like she was going to explode from happiness. But then she closed her eyes, breathed in and out, then opened them. "That is satisfactory." She said in a flat voice.
"Well come on then!" He said trotting out the door. Rainbow edged toward the doorway. Spitfire looked at her.
"Are you okay?" She asked. Dash looked at her.
"I have been out of order for two years now. And I'm finally going back out into the field. I'm taking my cautions." She defended herself. The truth was she was scared that she was out of order for too long, that as soon as she gets out there, bad thing will happen.
"Well come on then. Unless you don't want to go?" She said. 'Reverse psychology, always works.' Spitfire thought as Dash looked at her puffed and trotted out the door with confidence.
In the Middle of the Warzone
"A Dinner..... what?" Dash asked. It was four days after she had moved and it was pretty funny watching her ask what simple every-day objects are. She still doesn't trust the microwave, or toaster. Whenever he used them, she would growl and stalk it from across the kitchen. But what really worried him, was the nightmares. Almost every other night she would wake up screaming! Then claim that she didn't remember what her nightmare was about. But once, the second time it happened he had stayed outside her door, when she thought she was alone he heard her crying . So much for being emotionless, but it did prove one thing, she's a pony after all. They were standing in Soarin's living room, when he had laid this on her.
"A Dinner Dance, Dash." He replied, smiling at her. 'He's kidding? Right? I can't get along with the toaster, I try my best, but it's the one making it difficult! ' Dash thought.
"You mean with other ponies?" She asked. Soarin thought that if he got her out and about, she would understand.
"Yup, but don't worry you'll be with me the whole entire time!" he reassured her. "And its in two days" He said rolling his eyes. "How bad can it be?" He asked looking at her, she looked annoyed.
"Fine! I'll go your stupid Dinner Dance." She snapped. She began to walk back to the guest room.
"Dash, we're going to the park, remember?" He said. She kept walking.
"I don't feel like going to the park right now," She said. Soarin sat down on the coach and began to think. What would make her happy? Then inspiration struck. He has a little sister, Bumpy Skies, he still had some things of her's that she like when she was a foal. Soarin got up and trotted over to an old storage closet. He opened it and nearly gagged on all the dust. There were boxes piled high. He shuffled through them, until he found one that read 'Bumpy's old memories'. He opened it up and found something he knew Dash would like. He grabbed it and walked over to her room.
"Dash?" He asked. "Can I come in?"..........no answer. He opened the door and saw her staring at the wall. The wall was bare with nothing on it. He stood there for a minute or so waiting for her to notice him.
"No! No! Not again! Why again?" She muttered frantically. Then Soarin realized, she was asleep . She was sleeping with her eyes opened. He walked forward, ready to wake her up when he realized her could find out a bit about her nightmares."Twilight, stop it! You're hurting me Fluttershy! Pinkie, stop! No! No! No!" She said. He studied her. She looked exactly like she did when she was awake, fierce, bold, and annoying. But who was Fluttershy, Twilight, and Pinkie?
"Stop it! Knock it off!" She said. Then he made the mistake, he looked in her eyes. When he looked into her eyes, he was transported into her dream.
Five mares loomed over Rainbow, two earth ponies, an alicorn, a unicorn, and a pegasus. Everything was black, but the ponies. The unicorn grinned.
"Again, we find ourselves a useless, emotional, coward who calls herself a General! Ha! I bet her soldiers are dust bunnies!' She taunted. The pegasus looked up surprise.
"Rarity, you are flattering the dust bunnies!" She sneered. Rarity looked at her. Smiling.
"Your absolutely right Fluttershy!" She said. Rainbow was low to the ground, shivering. Last time they pulled out all of feathers of her wings, until she was bare and cold. What horrible thing were they going to do this time? Why didn't She feel like she knew them, though? Why didn't she pound their muzzles to the ground?
"Enough talk! Let's start with the preenin'" the orange earth pony said. The pink pony with a flat mane looked at her.
"Shall we begin, Applejack?" She asked. Applejack looked at her.
"I don't see any reason why not to, Pinkie." She replied creeping forward towards her prey. Just then Sorain whipped in front of Dash, mind set on protecting her. The others jumped back up in surprise.
"You try to 'preen' her and you'll be seeing stars tomorrow!" He threatened. They narrowed their eyes.
"Well, I guess we'll have to do this the hard way, girls!" The alicorn snapped. She looked at her allies. "Ready?"
"We're ready, Twilight!" Applejack said.
"Good! Now charge!" She said, rearing. The others raced forward yelling battlecries. Just then before they could strike the world melted away leaving nothing but them standing on nothing, but white.
"Dash, what's happening?" Sorain asked.
"I don't know. They normally 'preen' me then leave me to burn." She said getting up. She looked at him. "If you tell anypony that, you will be seeing stars tomorrow!" Dash swore. Just then the same alicorn came racing forward. They both went to defensive coaches. But the mare want interested in a fight. She kept running toward them like if she stop she wouldn't get threw.
"Rainbow! Thank Celestia we found you! Don't worry! We're coming for you! Sorain!? Take care of her! Well be there soon!" She called. Rainbow relaxed at bit. The other mares came into view too. They were more glitchy than Twilight, but they still called out to her.
"You'll be comin' home as quick as ya can blink!" Applejack called. The pegasus was sobbing as she ran.
"Take care, Rainbow!" She called. The white Unicorn had wet eyes, and was blinking out the tears.
"Hold on, Rainbow! Hold on!" She yelled. The pink earth pony was the one most desperate to get to get her.
"Dashie!!!!!!! Don't forget us!!!!!!!!!!" She called then she jumped out like she wanted to jump into her hooves. Then the dreamed dissolved.
Sorain woke up with an angry Rainbow Dash staring at him. Then he noticed that he was holding her close. He released her quickly, blushing at the mare.
"Sorry." He said getting up. Rainbow leaped to her hooves, too. Them looked at him, questionably.
"Did you have a dream where 5 ponies were chasing me?" She asked, eyes narrowed with suspension. Okay, he wasn't going crazy.
"Who were hey?" He asked her. She looked down, her ears back.
"Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, and the worse of them all Fluttershy." She replied. "I would of hit them......but I can't. I just...... can't." She said helplessly.
"But who are they?" Sorain asked her. She looked down, he stepped forward. "Who are they, Dash?!" He demands. She stepped back, tears were in her eyes.
" I-I don't know, Sorain!" He stepped back, surprised by her sudden outburst. "I don't know." She said, her voice trailed off. She looked at him.
"I gotta go." She said flying out of the room. Sorain took a millisecond to pause and understand her words, then dashed out of the doorway racing after her. But laying on the floor were three books, the books that Sorain thought might entertain Rainbow. Daring Do and the Quest for the Sapphire Stone, Daring Do and the Griffons Goblet and Daring Do and Ring of Destiny layed forgotten on the ground.

In the Middle of the Warzone
Rainbow Dash raced out the door, not knowing where to go. Soarin saw her dream. He saw what kept her up at night. As a leader, you must suffer in pain quietly. But she didn't. Soarin zoomed after her. He closed the door, too. But he didn't lock it. There was no time. 'Man! She's fast! ' he thought.
As she flew she found the unbounded freedom that she's hadn't tasted in years. She dipped and dived and made it harder for Soarin. She almost forgot what she was running from. Her fears. Soarin tried to keep up the best he could. While she was flying up head she raced pass Spitfire, who was heading over to check up on Soarin, to see how he was cooping with a monster like her.
"Hey, Soarin, what'ca doing?" She asked flying towards Soarin who had taken a break. He was beaded with sweat, and his wings could take much more. But Rainbow kept on looping and circling like it was nothing. He looked at Spitfire.
"Trying...to....catch.... her." He explained out of breath. Spitfire looked at the pegasus, she was flipping and diving.
"Ah. Well let's get her then!" She said launching herself in the air. Soarin looked at her then proceeded to do the same. He triedly flew over to Dash, who stopped. She hovered in the air. Her senses alert.
"What did you find, Dash?" He asked. She glanced at him. Then back at the sky.
"Follow me." She said diving into a steep drop. Soarin sighed and took after. Spitfire dived down. Rainbow Dash speed away from Cloudsdale. Flapping her wings effortlessly. Soarin wasn't doing so well. He was lagging behind. His breathing rigid. Spitfire a few minutes later, slowed down to be with him.
"Where's she going?" She asked him. Soarin shook his head. Only if he knew. They had stopped near the outskirts of Ponyville. A quiet little town. Soarin had help with bring them winter ounce or twice. Nice folks, nice ponies, nice place. But to Soarin his home would always be Cloudsdale. Rainbow landed. The fog curled between their hooves like a dog heeling to its master. Spitfire and Soarin looked at each other, but said nothing.
"Come this way." Dash order them. Her voice seemed like there's ponies were speaking with her and she looked a million miles away. She slowly walked forward. They passed large rocks and stones, but they took no notice. If they took their eyes off of Dash for just a second she would disappear in the mist. Then they heard crying. Soarin stopped to understand where they were. He looked around. The mist was so heavy he could make out any details but there was a stone next to him. He looked at the stone closer to release that it had words on it:
Granny Smith
Mother, Grandmother, friend,
A true Apple to her Core
They were in a cemetery. A small red apple rested next to the grave. Fresh. Soarin thought it was creepy. He didn't believe in zombies or ghosts, but he did not like dead bodies. Their cold bodies, their cold lifeless eyes.... burr! It just made his blood turn cold. If Dash notice it, she didn't show it. They continue to follow the mare, not knowing where she would take them until she stopped. The crying had become louder here. Dash didn't move asides from the occasional twitch of her torn ear. Soaring and Spitfire flanked her sides to see what she was staring at. There where two mares and an old stallion. On of them was draped over a gravestone, sobbing her eyes out. Soarin recognized the mare who was crying.
"Miss Shy?" He asked. Miss Shy didn't react, but the second mare an earth pony, a blonde mane with a darker blonde coat and Emerald eyes, looked at him. Her eyes where dull. But when she saw Dash he eyes widen, she stepped back.
"No, no. It can be! My eyes must'a be lyin'!" She yelped. Then she shook Miss Shy lightly over the shoulder. "Fluttershy! Look over there and tell me that ain't Rainbows!" She shouted. The pegasus stallion, who had a dark rainbow mane, looked up. He gasped, tears began to form in his eyes. Miss Shy also looked up. Her tears stopped flowing as fast, but still she cryed.
"Rain...bow...Dash?" Miss Shy asked, her voice cracking. Dash looked at me,then at the weeping mare.
"Ye...s?" She said, questionably. The earth pony gasped. Then both of the mares raced over to her.
"Rainbow! You!.. you're alive!" Miss Shy cryed as she leaped into Rainbow Dash's hooves. Rainbow was shocked. But she didn't push away. The earth pony mare, looked at Rainbow.
"What in all of Celestia did the War do to ya? Ya look awful!" She gasped. The stallion just stayed there looking at her. Rainbow didn't like the earth pony's comment.
"I am a General of the War, the War may do whatever it wants to me as long as it doesn't affect Equestria!" She shouted. Miss Shy was startled. She fell backwards into her back, she looked at her, onky now realizing what she looked like.
"Wha...what happened to you?" She asked. Rainbow looked at them and growled. Soarin stepped in front of Rainbow, to stop her from attacking.
"Do you know her?" He asked them. The two mares looked at one another then back at him.
"Yes, she's our friend. But who are y'all?" The earth pony asked. Soarin nodded.
"I'm Soarin, and this is Spitfire. But who are you?" Soarin asked them.
"I'm Fluttershy." Miss Shy told them. The earth pony rasied a hoof for Soarin to shake.
"I'm Applejack. Nice to meet y'all. Now what happened to Rainbow?" She asked them. Soaring sighed.
"It's a long story." He told them.

In the Middle of the Warzone
"So ya sayin' that Rainbows lot her memory, and now thinks that she's still in the War?... I just can't believe it." Applejack said. Fluttershy rasied a hoof to her mouth. The stallion didn't say anything. They didn't even know know his name.
"Rainbow!" She wept. Rainbow stared at them. Her unblinking, unbelievable eyes went to Applejack to Fluttershy, then to Soarin. Rainbow sighed. She stepped forward towards the mares.
"Please tell me who I am." She said threw clenched teeth. Soarin knew how hard it must of been for her to ask them for help. But he also knew that they were the only ones who could tell her. Applejack stepped towards her and put a hoof on her shoulder.
"It's also a long story." She told them with a slight chuckle. Rainbow shouldered her away. Applejack looked hurt, but then sighed.
"Let's go to Sweet Apple Factory. Come on! Follow me." She said walked away. They followed her. The stallion walked next to Dash, he kept glancing over at her. But said nothing.
"Where are we going, Soarin?" Spitfire hissed into Soarin ear. Soarin looked at her.
"I don't know." He admitted. Rainbow looked at him. And stopped to walk next to him.
"Soarin. They're the ponies from my dream. What.... what do I do?" she asked. Soarin thought for a moment. What could they do? It was obvious that cared for the rainbow-maned mare, to be honest she was growing on Soarin. They haven't done anything to hurt her either.
"Rainbow. Lets wait for them to explain themselves. Maybe our mystery will unfold itself." he told. Rainbow snorted and trotted ahead. They trotted towards a large factory, smoke filled the sky, making it black and grey. Applejack trotted towards a small house near it, a small fillie poked her head threw a window, her red mane blowing in the slightest breeze. She ran down the stairs and ran out of the house.
"Applejack! Applejack! Applejack! Filthy Rich bought 200 more barrels of Granny's Applesauce!" She yelled jumping into Applejack's hooves. Applejack hugged her then released.
"Ya know General Dash?" She asked. The fillie nodded.
"Who doesn't, Applejack?" She cried. Applejack smiled.
"Ya want to meet her?" She asked. The fillie rolled her eyes.
"She's gone, A.J. She's dead for over 2 years!" She yelped. Rainbow's ears went back, she crept forward towards the fillie.
"Was that what the world was told? Eh? Well, you can tell them that you can't kill me! Burn me, drown me, cut me, stab me! That won't kill me!" She snapped at the fillie, making her fall backwards. The fillie began to shake in fear in the ground. Then she looked at her closely.
"Rainbow! Yer alive! I can't believe it!" She said excitedly jumping up. Rainbow was taken back.
"You're....not afraid of me? My-my wing! My scar! M-my.... I'm me!" She stammered. The fillie jumped into a hug.
"I'd never be afraid of my big sister's best friend!" She nuzzled in her neck. Rainbow was stunned. All her time, anypony who saw here would think she was a freak. A monster. And this fillie broke that. Rainbow looked down at her.
"Who are you?" She asked nearly whispering. The fillie released her and looked at Dash. Confused.
"I'm Applebloom. Don't ya remember me?" She asked. Applejack sighed and stepped forward.
"Applebloom, Rainbow lost her memory. We're helping her remember something." She explained then walked into the house. They slipped past Applebloom and entered the house. Inside they took seats on a couch, Rainbow and the stallion sat in two chairs sitting opposite to each other's.
"Well let's start with Fluttershy, I never knew that part. Who did ya even meet Dash?" Applejack asked. Fluttershy was sitting to the right of her. She meeped and cleared her throat.
"It all started one day at Junior Speedsters Flight camp. Some bullies were mocking me about how I-"
"How you couldn't fly well?" Rainbow interjected. Fluttershy smiled.
"Your getting your memory back!" She exclaimed. Applejack looked at Rainbow and smiled. The stallion huffed.
"Then do yo remember who I am?" He demanded. Rainbow looked at him and squinted.
"You're… you're…" Rainbow stared blankly at him. Then shook her head. "I'm sorry, who are you?" She asked. The stallion looked down. Rainbow kept staring. Then she turned her head.
"Dad?" The stallion looked up. "Dad?!" Rainbow stood and stared at him. Then her eyes grew hard.
"You didn't want me to go to the war! You even tried to pretend to be sick to stop me!" she shouted. Her father looked at her.
"I never didn't want you to go." he told her softly. Applejack sighed.
"Go on, Fluttershy." she urged. Rainbow sat down, unhappy and confused. Fluttershy's eyes darted at Rainbow then at her father. She gulped and began to talk.
"You challenged them to a race, you were so fast you knock me off a cloud! But in the end-" Again she was cut off.
"I did a Sonic-Rainboom and earned and Cutie Mark! But I also whipped those losers flanks! Right?!" Rainbow asked franticly looking around. Fluttershy's face fell.
"Rainbow…you lost. You crashed into the ground and flew back up, telling everypony that a Unicorn stopped you in your tracks making you lose the race. They mocked you every time they could after that. And…" She paused like she didn't want to tell her this part "and you didn't get your Cutie Mark, it burned into your flank just before the War. It was awful! You were on the ground, in a small ball, crying out! It was awful!" She cried. Rainbow's face hardened.
"I do not cry out of pain!" She snapped. "And I did get my Cutie Mark that day! Or did I?" Her voice drifted off. Her eyes became gazed with confusion. Fluttershy sighed.
"You went to the War because something about a deep gut feeling or whatever." She said. She eyed Rainbow's father. "Your father wanted you to go." She mumbled. Rainbow didn't hear. Suddenly Applejack stood up.
"Fluttershy! We told Pinkamena that would meet her at your grave!" She exclaimed. She began pacing around.
"Oh my! We better go! Oh! Oh! Oh! Rainbow! Spitfire! Soarin! We better go!" Fluttershy cryed out leaping from the couch. She raced out the door. Rainbow stared at them.
"Pink…amena? Pink…ie?" She asked. Fluttershy paused at the doorframe and looked at her.
"No! Never call her Pinkie!" She shuttered at the thought. "Always Pinkamena!" Then she began to run out of the door, Applejack hot on her heels.
In the Middle of the Warzone
Applejack and Fluttershy raced away from the farmhouse, Rainbow's dad, Soarin, Spitfire, and Rainbow Dash fast on their hooves. While racing over Ponyvillie. Rainbow Dash had decided to switch from running to flying, then dropped back down to run again.
"Hey, Soarin. Were you ever in the- WHOA!" Rainbow began to ask Soarin with a turn with her head, but quickly crashed into a purple unicorn mare. Her mane was a mess, like she had just woken up, her eyes were bloodshot, as if she had just drank 5 cups of coffee after she pulled a all-nighter. Her saddle bag was stuffed full of books, scrolls, and falling out quills. She had crazy large glasses, that were a dark purple. She looked at Rainbow then pulled up her glasses.
"I can't believe it! After all my research has done, but of course Princess Celestia doesn't have time for a non-student of her school of Gifted Unicorns. Oh! Dear Celestia, why couldn't I just crack that egg, right, Spike!" she said using her magic to pull out a purple egg out of her saddle bag and she place it on the ground in front of her. Rainbow Dash just blink and stared at her. Then she suddenly noticed her Cutie Mark. It looked like somepony has painted on. It was a badly painted on white star and a lighter purple star painted awfully on top.
"T-twilight?" She asked. Twilight looked really pleased with herself.
"Yes! That's my name! Twilight Sparkle! Twilight Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis Sparkle! Though I do prefer Ms. Sparkle. And this is my trusty assistant! Spike! Get up!" she scolded him, pulling a quill from her saddle bag and wacking the egg. The egg sifted a bit, but other than that it did nothing else. Twilight looked angry. The others had stopped to see what the heck the crazy pony was talking about.
"Hey I know you! You're that weird alicorn-princess or something! Said that we were friends and was really weird." Applejack exclaimed. Twilight looked at her then pulled out five books out her bag and opened them up. She looked up at Applejack, then looked back down at her books.
"MMMMM. Nope! Never have met you before in my life. Unless.... No! Sweet Celestia! If this is possible, then time rifts can be possible! And then Celestia will FINALLY notice me!" She exclaimed looking at her books again, and also pulling seven more books out of her bag.
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Hmmmm. Sweet Celestia! You could be a time misrepresentation of a time warp!" She said using her magic to pull Rainbow's tail up in the air and letting Rainbow Dash dangle there.
"Hey! Let me down! Stop it! I will bite or disfigured your face very much! Soarin! Spitfire! Anypony get me down so I can hurt her very badly!" Rainbow snapped.
"Come on, Rainbow-Pony ! We need to get you down to my lab! Hmmm? Should I dissect her stomach first, or her liver?" Twilight questioned. Rainbow looked at her. Twilight looked at Spike. "Spike! Why aren't you taking notes?" She asked.
"What! NO! No, dissecting me what-so-ever at all!" she cried. The others just stood there watching as Rainbow tried to get down so she could hurt the Unicorn. An just when it seemed like she could another voice wad heard.
"Applejack! Fluttershy! You said that you meet me at the graveyard and you didn't! You broke your Pinkie Promise! You cross you heart, hoped to fly and crash into the ground, and you swore you would never see the light of day ever again!" A Pinkie earth pony with a flat mane scolded Applejack and Fluttershy as she trotted up. Rainbow looked bewildered. Twilight looked at Pinkie then returned to her note-taking.
"Pinkie Pie?" She yelped, from high on the air. Pinkie looked at Dash and almost smiled, almost, but then she growled at Dash. Twilight looked at Rainbow then decided to let her down. Rainbow landed with a thud. Soarin rushed over to see if she was okay. But she shook away his hoof.
"I prefer Pinkamena Diane Pie! If you please! And if you ever-" her voice trailed off. "General?" She asked.
"That's me! General Dash! I-I remember you!" Rainbow cried. Then she growled at Twilight who was now poking her in the back with a quill "hey! Stop that!" She snapped.
"General, I was one of your lead soliders in the War. We were friends, well up until half way into the War where you completely ignored me. But General, they said they you were dead. That you went to Cloudsdale Hospital and died from your wounds shortly after." Pinkamena asked. Rainbow growled again at Twilight. Who was now inspecting her wings.
Twilight looked up from her notes. "Mmm. What if you were a subspecies of the Inferno Respiratory majcule conservator wyvern!" Everypony stared at Twilight.
"A Inferno, rep-a-what now?" Rainbow asked. Twilight sighed and looked at Spike. She wacked with Spike with her notes.
"An Inferno Respiratory majcule conservator wyvern! Geez! Has nopony else also spent 5 years in the Dragon lands like Spike and I?" Dead silence. Twilight cleared her throat, "A Inferno Respiratory majcule conservator wyvern, which is what Spike is, he is a Inferno Respiratory majcule conservator wyvern," Everypony stared at her. Twilight sighed "Or as un-cultivacted ponies might say, a fire breathing letter deliverer dragon." Everypony ohhed.
"Why would you think Dash is a subspecies of a dragon?" Soarin asked. Rainbow's father cleared his throat and stepped forward.
"I'm pretty sure, her mother isn't a dragon." He huffed. Twilight rolled her eyes.
"Duh! But look at her wings! They aren't like other pony wings! I mean not all ponies have a metal wing." Rainbow's eyes narrowed. Anypony wouldn't of noticed, but she winced and Soarin noticed.
"Rainbow? You okay-?" Sorain began but was cut off by Rainbow. Who began to rant at Twilight.
"I wasn't born like this! My wing was ripped from socket, my blood watered the battlegeound of the War. Sombra laughed as he watched as I raced towards him! Blood dripped from my open wound, my soliders were yelling at me to stop. But did I listen? No! I am not a Inferno Respiratory majcule conservator wyvern! I may be a monster! I may be-" Rainbow was stopped when Twilight made a magical zipper across her lips. An unimpressed look on her face. Rainbow looked even angrier. Pinkamena flinched.
"Hold her down she's gonna attack!" She cried lunging forward. Pinkamena thrusting her body upon the rampaging mare. Rainbow began to buck and kick. The others stepped back, not wanting to get hurt. Soarin wished he had brought the drug that calm her down. So he had to rely on only himself.
"Rainbow! Listen! She's a scienceist! She was only making a hypothesis!" He yelled. Rainbow began to buck even harder and Pinkamena was finding it harder to hold on.
"She doesn't like big words!" She yelled at him. She began to slip off. Then she found a better grip. "Or microwaves or toasters! She doesn't like kitchen utensils that much! She attack the cook during the War once!" She added. Soarin rolled his eyes.
"She was just making a guess she didn't mean it! You're not a monster, Dash! You're a pegasus! And a really good flyer! I could hardly keep up with you! And Spitfire was in the Wonderbolts, and even she was falling behind!" Soarin told her. She was getting calmer now. That's good. "Listen, after a few weeks of know you. I know that, you may try to be tough you try to be hard. But inside.....but inside I know that all you want is a family. And Dash....I am your family, your father, your old friends are your family. And... We don't believe you are a monster. You're crazy." Her eyes flared up with anger again. "But! We love crazy! And you can be the most craziest mare I know." Rainbow's eyes became softer. Her wings -or wing- lowered. Pinkamena pushed her to lay down on the ground. Soarin looked at Twilight.
"Take the zipper off." Soarin ordered. Twilight looked back down at her notes and scrippled something down.
"Okay." She responded. Then with a flash of light Rainbow's mouth zipper was gone. She looked up at Soarin. Then at Pinkamena.
"Get off me or you'll wake up without your hoof and nose" she said silently. Pinkamena backed away. Rainbow stood and stepped towards Soarin until she was barely an inch away from his muzzle.
"That was incredibly sappy." She stated. Then she narrowed her eyes. "Never do it again." She ordered him. Soarin felt incredible warm around his muzzle. He stepped back. Feeling uncomfortable and warm.
"Hum, ah, of- of course, Rainbow. General! Dash!..... General Dash?" Soarin questioned. Then he looked at Applejack who was holding in her own laughter. Rainbow snorted. Twilight looked even more puzzled and then picked up Rainbow by the tail again. And Rainbow looked like she just didn't care anymore.
"I hope you wouldn't mind. But I'm going to kill her as soon as she puts me down. By the way." Rainbow told everypony. Twilight then loaded up her stuff and put Spike on her back and began to trot away. Everyone else looked at one another and raced after her and Rainbow.
"Where are you going?" Fluttershy whispered. Nopony heard.
"Hey, Twi? Where are ya goin'?" Applejack asked. Twilight didn't look back.
"To the Golden Oak Library, of course! I need to hook her up to a machine to see if my hypothesis is correct." Twilight said without missing a beat. Some eyebrows were raised but they continued to follow the crazy mare.
Rainbow's father grabbed Sorain's tail and pulled him back, far enough and so nopony else was in earshot. "Rainbow Dash likes you." He told the younger colt. Soarin glanced over at the stallion. Keeping in mind that his daughter was staying with him.
"Yeah, she's my friend." Soarin told him with a little smile. Rainbow's father rolled his eyes.
"You're a dummy. No, she likes you, likes you. Like, like like you, idiot." He said. Soarin's face grew warm again. Rainbow's father eyed the young colt that his daughter liked. "And I'll be watching you two." He said then he trotted forward. Then stopped again and leted Soarin go first.
"Very closely." He told him narrowing his eyes. Soarin blushed and raced forward trying to get away from the embarrassment. But Rainbow's father's eyes followed him. Sweet Celestia, did he have the same mutual feels? No, no, no! She was...just..a friend. Maybe. Soarin seriously didn't know.

In the Middle of the Warzone
"APPLEBLOOM! I have been searching for ages , looking for Applejack! Where in all of Equestria is she?" The white Unicorn asked/screamed running up to the small fillie. Applebloom smiled. It was funny when Rarity visited from Manehattan, she was always so dramatic!
"She just went to the cemetery, she and Fluttershy accidentally forgot about Pinkamena, there." The fillie repile. Rarity groaned.
"But that's all the way across town! Couldn't of Ponyville officials put the cemetery closer? And a bit less..." Rarity groaned, just think about it. "Gloomy?" She asked. Then she looked down at Applebloom.
"And why today? Didn't she remember that was coming to visit? I didn't come all the way out here for her to not to be here!" She stomped her hoof, angrily. Applebloom giggled a bit.
"Today's Rainbow's date." She whispered. Rarity looked confused at the fillie.
"Rainbow's date? What are talking about, darling?" She asked. Applebloom just went on talking like she didn't hear her.
"Ah guess it ain't really her date now, since apparently she was alive all along. Hoo'wee! She didn't look pretty darn mean, though!" She rambled on. Rarity sighed.
"I'll just go to the dirty, disgusting cemetery looking for the pony who said she would be here." She complained trotting away from the fillie, who was now sitting down. Trying to figure out whatever she was trying to figure out. Whatever that was.
Twilight raced into the library and zoomed down the steps towards the basement. Rainbow complained loudly, that hanging upside down in the air wasn't fun and she would downright murder Twilight if and when she put her down. Everypony else followed. Pinkamena was the last one in, she had stopped to -why? I don't know- crush the flowers in front of a house, and collect rocks for her baby sister? But when she raced in she didn't close the door leaving it wide open.
"Now, if the time circulation is correct, she should of popped out in Cloudsdale- no wait!- wouldn't it be Canterlot since Canterlot has the highest population of unicorns in Equestria and use magic daily. Are you getting this, Jackapple?" Twilight told Applejack, while racing down the stairs.
"It's Applejack!" She shouted back. Chasing after her. Rainbow looked like she didn't care.
"Listen. Put me down and die, or not put me down and still die. Okay, Twilight Mini-whatever Sparkle!" She said in the most flat voice ever. Soarin chuckled. Her father was in front of him, and he looked back with a deep scowl on his muzzle. Soarin gulped and smiled nervously. Mr. Dash huffed and looked forward. Soarin let out a long sigh of relief.
"Yes, yes, yes! As soon has I find my- ah! Yes!" Twilight had ran into a large labortory. She rasied a comically large pair of scissors up to Dash's neck. "Yes…… mmm you might want to put a unbrella up. It could get a bit, er, how to put it in words you'll understand, wet. Now hold still!" She said like a madmare! Immediately Applejack, Mr. Dash and Soarin jumped forward, terrified by the idea.
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" Sorain said flying up into the air next to Dash, who still looked unimpressed. "Whoa. You are going to direct her! No! Bad! Stop!" He scolded Twilight. Who was trying to get her large scissors around him. She looked down.
"Fine!" She agreed. Sorain let out a sigh. Rainbow just blinked. "I'll hook you up to my monitor then!" SH said wizzing the scissors away. She moved Rainbow over to a large grey circle thingy. She had hooks connected to Rainbow's hooves, wings, and face. She was dangling in the air from the wires and metal grips. Rainbow glared at her.
"What is this?" She asked she didn't sound interested she just sounded bored. Like she had nothing better to do. Twilight was now checking a long stream of paper which had a red lines that went up and down like a heart monitor. She looked up.
"Curious, very curious." She muttered. She trotted over to her captive and stared at her. Twilight's eyes narrowed. "I'll need your blood." She finally said. Soarin's head zipper up. He had been thinking about what her dad had said and had missed part of the conversation.
"What?" He asked, dumbfounded. Twilight rolled her eyes and walked over to her desk. A mound of paper following her, connected to her hooves. She digged threw her drawer and found a needle. She walked back over to the pegasus, who looked like she didn't care.
"Now this may sting a bit, but it will-"
"I've handled worse than a needle, egghead." She snapped. Twilight sighed and collected the blood. She looked very pleased and went over to her test tubes. Rainbow looked at Pinkamena.
"Tell me what I was like before the War." She almost ordered. Pinkamena nodded.
"You kinda were like a bully." She said at last. Rainbow stared down at her.
"I don't know much, but I know for a fact I was never a bully." She huffed. The scanning on the paper was coming faster.
"But you were!" Fluttershy injected. "You w-would tell any…anypony that said something you didn't like to, and I quote, 'Go fly off a cliff and die in a snakepit.' . And if they talked back to you" she shuddered. "Oh, so many fights I had to break up." She whimpered. Rainbow's eyes glazed over.
"I don't remember getting into fights." She muttered. Just then Twilight trotted back in and stared at her results, then back Rainbow, then the results. Nopony spoke.
"What?" Dash finally asked. Twilight gulped and pushed up her glasses. Her hooves trempling.
"Your…your not from this world." She said at last. Everypony stared.
"What the heck does that mean?!" Rainbow screamed. She might of added some more colorful words into her rant. Fluttershy meeped and covered her ears.
"Rainbow!" Her father yelled at her. "I thought I taught you better." He scolded.
"And besides!" Applejack concluded. "We have Fluttershy listenin' and ya know how much she hates cussin'!" He explained.
"Wow! You guys are mad that I cussed and not that, ya know, I'M NOT FROM THIS WORLD, MAYBE?!" She screamed.
"Excuse me? Is Applejack here?" A voice from the stairs called. Rainbow's eyes went wide.
"No, it can't be...." She muttered. Applied faceplamed herself.
"Oh, rats! Ah forgot my old friend, Rarity, was comin' from Manehattan to see me and my family today!" She complained. then she called up the steps, "Ya, I'm ah down here!" She looked back and blushed. Rainbow looked nervously at the stairs. A white mare with a curly purple mane came trotting down.
"Why, I hope you have a good explanation for this, Applejack! I mean it took me forever to find you!" She complained.
"R-rarity?" Rainbow asked. Soarin trotted over to her.
"What's wrong, Dash?" He asked. Rainbow looked like she wasn't processing everything correctly. She blinked. Her eyes narrow like a snakes. Rarity looked at her.
"Rainbow!" She cried. "It's been forever !" She said with a hink of a smile. Rainbow's breathing became shallow. Her eyes darted everywhere. The monitor beeped faster.
"No! I can't take it!" She screamed. Then she ripped off the arms that pinned her down. Then a milsecond later she was up the stairs and out the door. Twilight stood there. Staring.
"What?" Spitfire asked. She had been so quiet the whole time. Soarin almost forgot she was there.
"Each of those arm could hold down 362 pounds." She paused for a second. "Each on their own." The room was slient.
"What is happening here, darlings?" Rarity asked.

Chapter 8
Soarin flew up behind Dash, unsure what to do. She was sitting on a cloud looking lost and confused. He set down behind her. Before he could even talk she knew he was there. "Hey, Soarin." She said flatly. Soarin was astonished.
"How'd you kn-" he began to asked.
"I thought you might follow me, and this was actually the fifth time saying that." She told him. Soarin smiled a bit. Then remembered why he was there.
"What was up with that, Dash?" He asked. He was worried. It was an hour since she had stormed out, they all had been searching for her. Rainbow looked at him.
"Promise not to tell, Soar'?" Soarin fliched, Rainbow never gave him a nickname. He sat down next to her and nodded. She looked away and sighed. "I remember." That was it the words Soarin wanted to hear. Now she needed to find a job, and a house and get over this whole War thing. He cracked a smile.
"That's amazing! That's, that's great!" He exclaimed. He got up and slid over in front of her. He lifted her chin up with his hoof, then noticing the confusion in her eyes. "Isn't it?" He asked. She turned away.
"When that mare came into the room, I remembered everything. But my memories don't match up with everypony else's." She whispered, barely keeping it together. Soarin burrowed his brow.
"I don't understand." He asked. Rainbow looked at him. Her eyes were beautiful, the only part of her body that wasn't effected by the War. The magenta color reflecting off of the now setting sun. They held her emotions, Soarin noted. Whenever she was sad or confused, her eyes became a bit duller somehow, and when she was flying or had no emotions rent were blank. It was hard to see before. But now they shown them as clear as the sun. She was scared.
"In my memories, I already met you." She whispered. Soarin flinched a bit, still not understanding. "And Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Twilight, even Spike! In my memories-"her voice cracked, her emotions now running freely, and tears begining to form. "He was a dragon. And Pinkamena" she faltered out. "She was called Pinkie, Twilight was an alicorn, there was no War, I just! I just!" She stopped as she brought her hoof to her face, feeling the tears slide down her cheeks. Her ears went back, she looked away.
"What's wrong?" Soarin asked again. He was still unsure what to do. She remembered, but she remembered different things. What can he do?
"Everything." He heard her say. She turned back to look at him, tears flying down her face and into the cloud. "My whole world, everything I knew is now gone." She whimpered. Her breathing was becoming hard. "Soarin," she cried. He looked at her, he would stick by her side even when her world was falling apart, he would be the one thing that she wouldn't forget.
"When was the last time you saw a clear blue sky?" She asked. It was a rather odd question and Soarin didn't really have an answer for it right away. But he tried.
"Well, uhm." He almost laughed. "Before the War, I guess, why'd ya ask, General?" He repiled. Rainbow stared at him.
"Don't call me that. I'm not the great General that won the War for Equestria. I'm just Rainbow Dash the world's most confused, lost, and idiotic pony it has ever seen." She moped, then she straighten herself and looked at him. "Listen, Soar', my memories, it felt like yesterday." She told him, she was now shaking, she stared up at the smoke colored sky. When the War began factorys began to duplicate like weeds, they pumped out smoke and gas like there was no tomorrow, of corse during the War it almost seemed like there wasn't a tomorrow. Soarin loved the sky, just as any pegasus should, and many of the pegasi had asked the princess to stop sight the toxic gases that the flightless ponies careless made, but she was always too busy. Most pegasi just left Equestria as soon as they realize that the gases weren't going away.
"What," Soarin began, but he his voice lost its will to speak. "What was like?" He asked again. She stared off information which distance.
"Amazing, endless blue in all directions, earth ponies and unicorns scurrying below, trying to get from there to here, never having a taste of freedom. Not even a cloud could stand in my way, the wind, chilly and crisp, like a cold winter's night, and you're flying sun and moon and stars, nopony can touch you as you soar, but when the howls of the wind dies away, and the excitement of the freedom you drooled over before you took to the air stops. The world seems to be dead. Not a sound can heard. Not even the wind blows, but yet," she paused and took a breath. "When you hear only your heart beating; all you want to do is soar." She shivered.
"That was beautiful; uhm, Rainbow? " Soarin asked, questionably. But Rainbow didn't hear.
"Why do I remember?" She asked herself. "Why'd I forget?" She half yelled. She stood up and began screaming at the sky.
"IS THIS WHAT I GET?! AFTER ALL THAT I'VE DONE?! THE SONIC RAINBOOM?! SAVING EQUESTRIA MULTIPLE TIMES?!? WHAT ABOUT MY LIFE? EVERYTHING..." her voice faltered, tears falling softly on her cheeks, Soarin had stood, too, trying to calm her down. But she still continued. "PLEASE! All....all I want now it to go home." She said collapsing to the ground. She began to sob. Soarin stared. Not knowing what to say. Then he sat down next to her.
"What to know something, something crazy?" She mumbled. She looked up tears still falling, she smiled a kinda creepy smile. "When I first met you, I had a dream, you, Spitfire, and Rarity, the, the mare who walked in, and other pegasus were all falling, and I, and I." She paused, smiling at him. "I saved you guys by doing the Sonic Rainboom, it was the second time I did it, the first was when I was a filly." She stopped. She looked down at the cloud.
"Cipper, what's wrong with me?" She whispered. Soarin put a hoof over her shoulders and pulled her close.
"I don't know, Dashie, I don't know." He told her. Then he heard the explosion.
