Rains pupils went small as she heard the news, her body going partially limp as well. "W-what...P-princess Luna is... d-dead?" Rain asked, her voice somber, and her face looking heartbroken.
*Sadly...Yes, Rain...* Celestia said, staring down, her long and flowing mane going down a bit, a tear slowly falling from her face as she sighed, her bright and protective personality not evident at the moment. *Rain, I'm quite angry if you have not noticed, so forgive me if I say anything impolite...But, anyways, Rain, I need you to start on a new case for me, I want you to solve the case of my sister's murder...Alone. Would you please do that for me?* Rain looked up at Celestia. Taking what she just said into consideration.
"B-but princess...You do understand... that this is a very big case and to do it also-" Rain tried to speak but was rudely cut off by Celestia.
*It's not a question anymore... Do it. I want an answer to this mess.* Princess Celestia commanded *Luna's body is underneath the castle, her body is being examined. Now go. Have a good day Rain.* Rain stepped back, being yanked back and being grabbed by the two guards again.
We will take you down to where Princess Luna's body is,One of the guards said. Rain frowned and she yanked away from them and she stood her ground, standing tall. She growled, putting her levitation on her revolver to scare them.
"I can walk myself, thank you very much," Rain said, trotting past them. Making her way around the castle, it seemed she was going around in circles until she reached a staircase labeled -Basement. Authorized Personnel only.- Rain shrugged and walked down the stairs and she eventually reached a large metal door, and she knocked on the door hard, and she immediately regretted it as the metal hurt her hoof and she yelped, realizing her own stupidity "Ouch... that hurt.." Rain said with a sigh.
**Whos there?** A voice erupted from behind the door, sounding commanding and serious.
"R-Rain Valentine. Here in the case of Princess Luna's murder..." Rain said, slightly backing up from the door, she heard a few latches unlock and the gigantic metal door slowly opened, with a loud audible creak. Princess Cadence was standing there, her mane all messed up and bags under her eyes, but she was still smiling.
*P-please...come inside Rain... W-we've been awaiting your arrival,*` Cadence said. Her voice sounded like concrete...no emotion. And Rain looked around, and she slowly walked forward, looking around and there was a bright white light coming from around a corner that was all the way down the hall, old prison cages pushed up against the walls. Most of the metal on them were terribly rusted and broken. And skulls and multiple other pony bones lay inside some of the cages, and Rain looked away in disgust, staring down at the floor.
Rain and Princess Cadence continued walking down the protracted corridor. They finally reached the turn and Rain saw two metal doors with multiple locks and hinges. And Princess Cadence walked up to the door, and she knocked on the door with a rhythm and they automatically opened. Rain saw multiple doctors all wearing face masks and white coats and Princess Cadence motioned for Rain to come in with a forehoof.
Rain slowly entered the room, looking around there she saw it. Princess Luna's body lay on a large surgical table in the middle. The doctors made way for Rain as she walked up to the side of the table. Rain levitated a little machine out of a pocket on her trench coat and she levitated it up to Luna's mouth. Rain put the thing in Luna's mouth and then closed her mouth, turning on the machine. Beep. Beep. Beep.
A little number appeared on the machine in red text. 79.99304. Rain frowned and sighed, turning her head to look over at Princess cadence. "Well... It seems that Princess Luna has been poisoned with a multitude of poisons," Rain said, slowly levitating the machine out of her mouth.
*Oh dear...* Princess Cadence said with a grimace, slowly walking over to princess Luna's side. She lifted up a hoof, laying it on Luna's chest. A single tear fell down her face and she wiped it away with her magic. *Rain. You can find who did this, r-right?* Cadence said, despair in her face and on her face.
"I-I... Yes....I can find who did this. I'm sure of it Princess cadence." Rain said, smiling as she walked over to cadence and Cadence smiled back, her smile warm and tender. Cadence took her forehoof off Luna. And she outstretched her forelegs and Rain gladly accepted her hug, and she quickly backed away after a moment or two.
*Who ever did this.... they will regret it. I tell you that.* Princess Cadence said with a grim smile. Rain slightly tilted her head and slowly nodded.
"Princess. I need you to get this body to my examination department in Manehattan." Cadence nodded. Then all of a sudden a huge explosion was heard at the end of the hallway. "What in tarnation?!" Rain quickly levitated her gun out of its holster, quickly opening one of the metal doors, peeking around the corner. Rain saw around 30 Ponies and one stood in front.
This ponies name was Napalm, he stood tall and levitated his large slug shot-shotgun beside him. He lifted up his right foreleg and spoke out aloud -Go ahead and slaughter every last one of them. Leave no pony alive. And make sure that filthy detective gets the worst of it, - he snickered and turned around, his soldiers moving out the way as he walked away.
"Oh no..." Rain said.

As Rain peeked around the corner, a hot wad of lead was blasted right past her face and she stumbled back. "Gah! What the hell shot that?! No pistol can shoot a bullet that big! No fair!" Rain wailed, turning around to look at Princess Cadence. She had an emotionless expression and she looked up, and she grabbed Rains shoulder and put on a warm smile.
*Rain, get these doctors to safety. I will stay here and fend off these fiends. Now go!* Rain nodded as Cadence jumped out into the hallway, putting up a barrier and exactly at the moment it was put up, multiple throwing knives hit it and one hot wad of let stuck right in the middle of it. Rain sighed and she hurried all the doctors to the exit door in the room, levitating open the door and they all ran out, and so did Rain.
As she ran, she began charging up a spell, prepared to throw aside anypony in her way. She and the multiple doctors soon exited the castle, and they were ambushed as 2 ponies tried swinging at Rain at once. Rain quickly walked back and she tripped and fell on her back, she levitated her revolver up and blasted the two ponies in the head. They both fell over with an audible thump and their brains and blood splattered all over two doctors and they both glared at Rain and slowly wiped the guts off their faces.
Rain got up and kept walking, "Cmon! No time for waiting around, let's get you ponies to safety." Rain quickly found an alleyway where she could hide them and she rushed them in and soon they all were looking at her. "Now stay here. And don't get noticed." Rain explained, quickly walking away and she saw multiple royal guard and civilians on the ground, bleeding and slowly dying. Rain shook her head and dashed ahead, and soon she reached the entrance of Canterlot.
She saw a struggle up at the front, she saw multiple royal guards fending off the force trying to force themselves inside Canterlot, and Rain stood her ground. She took aim. And her gun clicked, and she held her breath. BAM! BAM! PHZZAT! PHZAAT! Rain was knocked back and her gunshot missed as she was knocked back. She saw all of the royal guard's collapse and turn into a red and green dust.
A wave of ash and debris flew over her and it felt like her head has shattered. Her ears hurt, her eyes hurt, her everything hurt! Soon she couldn't see anything and she started to run back, spamming light spells into the mist. Soon she exited it and she could see. She reached a cliff and a barrier. She could see almost all of Equestria and in the distance near the crystal mountains, she could see a swirling black and white magic surrounding it. "Oh no..." Was all Rain could think to say.
Rain quickly started running up to the castle and she encountered one of the ponies, they were sporting chainmail armor, with bronze plating over most of it.
The pony growled and levitated out a sword and shield and it charged Rain with a war scream and Rain quickly discharged a freezing spell on the pony's horn and it forced the sword and shield to drop and Rain pushed the pony over a guard rail that was on the stairs and the pony fell. Screaming as it fell to the bottom and met its demise.
Rain continued running up the stairs, till she approached a wall of royal guards.
-Hey! That's the detective! Let her through.- One of them said, and they all moved aside and she smiled and trotted through them, she came up to the entrance where multiple guards were struggling to break open the large front doors.
-I can't believe those fucking fiends captured our own castle!- One of them yelled and they did one final hit against the door and it swung open. Multiple ponies got knocked down who were behind the door, holding it closed. And they all shot magical spells at her and she dived for cover. She managed to not get hit by any of the spells and she pulled out her pistol.
"3 shots left..." She mumbled as the guards charged in, slashing the ponies on the floor with their swords and Rain charged in, shooting two of the ponies with precision accuracy then she stomped on one and kneeling down, putting her gun to the unicorns head.
N-no! P-plea- Rain shot, the ponies blood splattering all over her face. And she got up, wiping all the blood off her face with her right forehoof. She sheathed her revolver and started walking around, charging up a spell as she walked. Soon she reached the doors to the royal hall. She swallowed and pushed the door open, casting the magic spell at herself, she was surrounded by a wall of flames and she saw over 50 unicorns surrounding princess Celestia, her wings tied down and her horn surrounded by ice magic.
Napalm cackled as he stared Princess Celestia in the face -My my, looks your laughably perfect town has crumbled under my name. Heh, I bet you're so mad...Now. You stay here while I go and deal with your friends. Don't go anywhere, oh wait. you can't! -He cackled as he walked through his countless guards and he saw Rain at the end of the corridor. -My my. Is that Rain Valentine? I thought I killed you! You slippery snake.... - He said. Giving her a vicious smile, slowly advanced towards her.
"W-well! You didn't kill me! B-but I'm here to kill you?- She said, unsure if she could even kill him. He levitated something up that was in a holster on his side.
-You see this? This is an experimental gun, it's called a shotgun. Shoots at least over 6 bullets at a time. And I'm going to kill you with it. - He said with a snicker and a grin. Rain quickly levitated out her revolver and aimed and pulled the trigger. Click. Nothing came out of the barrel.
Her expression turned grim, her pupils went small as she almost dropped the gun "How unlucky can I be?" Rain yelled at herself, spinning around as she quickly ran out of the castle, silence following in hot pursuit. Firing magic spells at her as she ran out of the castle, she soon found her running down the same stairs she came up to get here. She was then stopped by two of his guards and they pushed her back. -Its nothing personal. Just business. -
-Die. - Napalm shot rain in the chest, sending her flying through the guard rail and falling down the side of canterlot.

Rains vision went blurry as she was knocked into unconsciousness. Rain 'woke up' in a field of clouds, which was odd because she wasn't a pegasus. Rain looked up at the sky, it was a solid black with no stars at all. The area was surrounded by a thick fog, that was a red tint. Rain looked around, and she starting speaking. "Hello? Anypony there?" Rain yelled out, getting no response. 'Had I gone to Tartarus?' She thought and asked herself. She then saw a figure in the fog approaching her. Rain instinctively levitated out her revolver and looked at the cylinder. No bullets were in the cylinder.
Rain frowned and reached for her ammo bag which was hanging from her side. She levitated out a bullet and swung out the cylinder and put it in the chamber. She swung the cylinder back into place and she took aim, the figure about to depart from the fog and Rain was just about to fire when. -Your not going to shoot me, are you? - The navy blue mare said. Rains pupils went small as she quickly put away her revolver and bowed.
Rain then quickly got up and looked over at Princess Luna. "Y-your dead! You can't be here...I saw your body, Y-your One hundred percent dead!" Rain started panicking and backing up. Princess luna sighed and frowned.
-Yes...I know, I'm dead. No need to rub it in. - She said, her mane going flat as she sighed and looked back up. -Now. Rain Valentine. I know you're quite frightened. But there is no need. I have no intention to hurt you. I just need to ask you a few things....before I leave... - Luna said, trying her best to smile.
Rain slowly nodded and walked towards her. "W-what do you need? P-princess?" Rain said, looking up at Luna. Luna smiled and started to talk.
-There is a pony. An alicorn in Equestria, she is known as Princess Cadence or more formerly known as, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. She needs to be put down. At once, - Luna said. Rain tilted her head and slowly pulled out a pencil and notepad.
"W-why? What did Ms.Cadence do?" Rain said, slowly writing on her notepad with the pencil. Luna frowned and 'turned on' her Royal Canterlot voice.
-Now is not the time for this writing nonsense! You shall help me and not be a foal like fool! I will not take any more distractions! Now listen or perish! - Luna yelled, casting a fire spell at the book and pencil. They melted in her levitation and they dropped to the floor, just ash now. Rains pupils went small and she backed up and fell onto her back. Rain quickly backed up, her hindlegs and forelegs shaking.
-Do I have to do everything myself!? I-I can't accept this! I will do everything myself! Without your foolish pony help! I-I can do all of it on my own! - Luna yelled, lightning striking in the distance behind her. She seemed to be growing in size, her legs getting taller. Her fur turned a black. And with a flash of green, light blue armor appeared on her. -Leave! -
Rain quickly got up and ran in the other direction. She had no idea where she was running as she was running through the endless fog. Rains vision went black for a moment then all of a sudden she was in a snowy area. Rain saw a large city and in the middle was a large castle. Rain tilted her head as snow smacked into her from all directions. She growled and started to sprint towards the city as a large force of black clouds advanced towards the city as well.
-I guess I'm going to have to test you! Hahaha! A voice erupted from inside her head. Rain shrieked in pain and stopped in her tracks, her face plowing into the snow. She shoved her hoofs to her ears. But it was no use. -Fool! I control you! NOW GO! Run! - Rain quickly got up, starting to sprint again, not wanting to know what fate awaited her in those black clouds. Rain had been sprinting for about 20 minutes and she finally reached the city and she looked around, seeing multiple buildings, all either burned down, boarded up or just plain empty.
Rain looked around. It was dead silent, minus the extreme wind. Rain slowly advanced to one of the boarded up houses and she looked over at the front door and tried to open it. Locked. Rain frowned and knocked hard on the door.
"Hello? Is anybody ho-..." Rain was interrupted when the door swung open, hitting her right in the face and sending her stumbling back. She yelped in pain and levitated out her revolver, she took aim and she walked into the home, it was pitch black inside.
"Hello?? Who's there?" Rain asked into the darkness, then all of a sudden she felt the wind rush into the room, and the front door slammed shut which startled Rain and she was pushed by something and then she hit something else and heard a growl. Rain lit up her horn and looked around her, her pupils went small as she saw ponies hanging from the ceiling, their eyes cut out, they were burnt, cut, and missing multiple body parts. Rain screamed in horror as she realized they were all around her.
"What the hell! Who did this?" Rain yelled and questioned again, running towards the front door. She tried to open it but it was locked.
"Gah! Let me out!" Rain yelled again as she slammed her body against the door, trying to break it open. Then a voice rang out loudly inside her head. Rain dropped to the ground in agony as it erupted inside her head.
-Ungrateful whelp! I spend all this time making these pretty decorations for you, and you don't care to admire it! Foolish! But, if you want to go, LEAVE! - 'Luna' screamed in her head as she swung the front door open and pushed her out into the snow. Rain groaned and shook her head and got up. She put her revolver back into its holster. She looked towards the middle of the town. She saw the crystal heart floating above its little pedestal. Rain started sprinting towards it as the black clouds enclosed on the town, limiting her visibility even further.
She soon reached it and she slowly walked up to it. Rain slowly reached her forehoofs up to it and she tried to grab it. But when she grabbed it, it turned black and it broke into bunch of shards and Rain backed up, her pupils going small. She felt her heart explode inside of her and she dropped dead.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world,” Rain Valentine repeated to herself as she stared at herself in the mirror, rain lightly tapping at the window in her bathroom, and she sighed. "How can I change the world when I'm only one pony?" Rain asked herself, levitating up a comb, slowly running it through her hair, levitating out her toothbrush and toothpaste. Turning on the water in the sink and starting to brush her teeth, soon finishing and she started staring at herself again, sighing and she walked out of the bathroom and into her room. "The ponies of Equestria don't depend on me... or do they?" Rain asked herself. Picking up her gray fedora and her gray trench coat, slowly putting them on.
She also grabbed her gold and silver bulletproof stopwatch, putting it in a pocket on her trench coat. She finally grabbed her white scarf, hanging it around her neck. Rain then slowly walked out of her bedroom and down to the kitchen, where she looked through her fridge and freezer "Hmm, what to have..?" She asked out loud, scanning her fridge and freezer for something good to eat. Nothing. Her fridge and freezer were almost empty. Rain would have to go shopping soon. Rain then walked to the front door where she saw her holster and her wallet on a shelf beside the door, she grabbed the holster, putting it on her right foreleg.
Rain grabbed her wallet as well, putting it inside a pocket on her trench coat, and Rain took a deep breath, about to pull the front door open when a small white letter appeared in front of her and she jumped back, startled, "What the hell?" Rain muttered as she levitated up the letter, opening it. `Dear Rain Flare Valentine. We need you up at the castle urgently, it is of utmost importance, I hope you consider this request. -Your Friend, Princess Celestia. Rains eyes widened, she quickly put the letter away. Running out the front door.
Rain ran as fast as she could to the train station, buying a train ticket to Canterlot and she entered the train, sitting down and waiting for the train to arrive.
Right as Rain got out of the train, she was greeted by two Royal guards. Their armor a dark blue, but they weren't bat ponies, and one of them spoke up, looking over at Rain.
Rain Valentine. You must come with us, you might be next.
"W-what, n-next for what?" Rain asked, but she got no answer. The two guards grabbed her, taking her up to the castle in a hurry. Rain looked around, wondering if Celestia or luna sent the guards down just to escort her up to the castle. Rain sighed and they took her up to the castle and she was rushed inside, and she was being rushed to Celestia's throne, where she was sitting down, a worried look on her face and the guards let go of Rain right when she was right in front of Celestia.
*Thank you for coming Rain. I have some devastating news to share with you...My sister...Princess Luna...Has been poisoned and died...*
